Walgreens doesn’t have an amazing reputation for good customer service.  It’s sad but very true.  However, there is one store that has won me over!  If I could, I  would drive to Batesburg SC to do all my shopping!

walgreens-billboard

Thanks for making us feel welcome Walgreens!

(thanks Heather for the picture!)

    • kristin w

Wow! I wish I lived by that Walgreens! I quit shopping there b/c of their lack of good customer service and the coupons and register have serious trouble!!!!!!! I love your blog and tell everyone about it; thanks for doing all the work for us!

    • Linda

      LOVE IT!!!

    • Wow! That is AWESOME. I wish I lived near that Wags too- my closest one is TERRIBLE about coupons. Needless to say, I do not shop there often.

    • That is sooo cool. I wish I could shop there. Their are 2 Walgreens near me. One I avoid as much as possible and the other one is OK, especially for a Walgreens. My CVS is amazing ok too, except they never have anything by the time I get to them. :)

    • The Walgreens in Richmond Hill GA is awesome. They're always helpful and never give the stink eye over coupons. The pharmacy gal even asked where I got my printables b/c she's interested in doing it. :)

      • Amanda74

I have been trying to shop at that Walgreens too and haven't had such good luck :( One checker told me that she couldn't believe “coupon people” think they can get things for free and tried to tell me a story about someone else… I have been diligent about doing the right thing but not had luck at that store and was giving up on Walgreens.. maybe I will give it another try!

    • shopping mom

Yay! This is the Walgreens that I shop. But, I must say….it really depends on who checks you out, as to how welcome you feel :) Some just don't quite understand the whole couponing thing yet. The Bi-Lo there in town though, absolutely wonderful customer service!!!

    • Amanda

That is too cool! There is 2 walgreens near me and the service at both are not too good. I only go there to save money, but its by far my favorite place to shop.

    • jessica

wow thats amazing! i feel like a troll when i walk into a walgreens so i dodge it like the plaque. good looking out though walgreens :)

      • jessc5

Well, if you have the “plaque”, maybe you need more free toothpaste!!!! LOL!!! (Sorry, it struck me funny! Just kiddin'!)

        • LN

This made my day! How funny!

    • MJCris

WOW! That's great! My Walgreen's is actually very nice as well, I think the cashiers are also couponers! =)

    • rgbarron01

That's very cool! I have a great Walgreens in my neighborhood. I've had two managers in the last month walk up to me and thank me for making a conscious decision to shop in their store. They don't mind my coupons at all.

      • DJ

They shouldn't mind your coupons. For most of the coupons and RR, Walgreens is reimbursed by the manufacturer. The manufacturer's money is as good as yours!

Had a good xp with a Walgreen's this week. Went in to take advantage of the cottonelle deal (and use up one of my rrs from last week) and the young male cashier ran my coupons in the order I gave them. Newbie that I am, I gave them in the wrong order. He patiently reran them in the proper order (store q first, then manufacturer's qs) and didn't at all act like I was inconveniencing him.

I still think Walgreen's RR are convoluted and confusing. But I like the people at that one Walgreen's. :)

    • stephylow

Way to Go Walgreens!! Southern Savers Rocks!

    • rae

That sign is AWESOME! I live across the street from Walgreens, and the cashiers typically act like my using coupons comes out of their paycheck.

      • sands143

I get the same feeling when I go to Walgreens. I've almost decided to just shop CVS and forget Walgreens. Plus my local Walgreens doesn't always put up their sale signs which makes it harder to find the right product.

    • Ciel

My Walgreens in Asheville, NC (S Tunnel Rd) has a great girl that works in the cosmetics department! She is so helpful–wish I knew her name so I could give her a proper shout-out!

    • littlemama8

I want that Walgreens! Went there last night and it was a nightmare. I love the deals, but sometimes think it's not worth it to go and deal with the cashiers!

      • WENDYSAWYER

I to have a hard time there. I've tried 4 or 5 times and it's just not worth it anymore. I have to go back and retrieve the $8.05 they rooked me for yesterday…I would LOVE to shop there b/c they have great deals for me but I have to hand them ONE item at a time and look at it on the register to make sure it's right before leaving. I left yesterday and knew it wasn't right but I ran out of time.

    • allisonshipman

      Thanks Batesburg Walgreens!

    • staceleah

Very nice…. we have all gotten “the look” when we get our fistful of coupons out. (I have gotten heavy sighs, too… from cashiers and customers. Can you say “discrimination”.) It's refreshing to see a welcome for a change. On a positive note … I had a great fella that helped me look into a deal at Target the other day… love that customer service!

      • So awesome I wish I could shop there. I will definetly be shopping a walmart this week.

    • My Walgreens in Toccoa, GA is pretty awesome too! As a matter of fact, I have the cashiers asking me where I get my coupons! I also have to but a shout out to the manager. She is tooo goood!! I have been learning how all the Register Rewards work because we have never had a Walgreens before. She has been great to explain and redo my transactions to make them work for me! I know some people have had bad experiences in this Walgreens but I have only had great experiences!

      • Sally

I've used the Toccoa Walgreens when I was visiting there. They were great!

    • Michelle

that is nice! yeah, the walgreens around here aren't the best on customer service or coupon loving. there is a rite-aid here that is AWESOME. it's the only drug store that never, ever gives me any attitude or problems with coupons. wags, not so much

    • jennifer r

that is awesome jenny! frame that for your office :)
walgreens would be wise to embrace us!!!

    • presha

That is awesome!!! My walgreens in Apex, NC is great too! Most of the cashiers can't wait to see what us couponers come up with so they can get the deals later…plus their employee discount. My Walgreens even has a coupon folder if you don't have a coupon for something you can look through to see if they have one!!!! My favortire cashier is Shamil…she is so nice & helpful & doesn't mind all my coupons!!! Thanks!! I love my Walgreens!

      • Are you talking about the one on Hwy 55 & Olive Chapel????? I do not have such good luck there- esp with the Russian accented cashier. It is always a hassle!

Another thing I don't like about it, though I hear it's a universal Wags issue, is that they keep the tearpad q's and others they get from vendors and put them behind the cosmetics desk rather then leaving them near the product as is typical practice at most retailers.

    • I usually have bad experiences at Walgreens, too. Glad I'm not the only one! I just recently visited one after a 3 year strike!

      • RebeccaFer

Wow! Three years?!??! That must have been one blow out experience to keep you away that long but my real question is, what was the deal that got you enticed to come back? :D

    • RebeccaFer

Wow!!!! I would drive there too … if I could find a coupon for gas that is, lol. Hmmmm, how far is Batesburg from Charlotte. I wish they could come up and give the Walgreens by me some CS training. What an awesome sign and I'm sure they're even a more awesome store with the best employees! You rock Batesburg Wags! I think we should all make a pilgrimage there. :D

      • momof3sc

You have about 1 hour and 45 mins. We are a small town with Bilo, Reids, CVS, Walgreens All in 200 yards of each other. Walmart moved in on other side of town (1/2 mile) but don't venture there often, they are NOT coupon friendly. We do have sidewalks so you can park and hit them all at once, LOL. Enjoy our little town, come visit.

        • RebeccaFer

Thanks for the info! That's darned cool too that you have all those shops right next to each other. I love my Bi-Lo and the CVS is pretty great too. I really like a Wags that's a little out of the way but it's worth it to be treated like I'm not a problem because I use coupons. I just might have to visit! Thanks! :D

    • kneadybaker

Both Walgreens here in Rock Hill are great. The cashiers and even a manager have helped me use my coupons in the best possible way. I have never had a problem at Walgreens, but I have at CVS.

    • Doris A Jenkins

We have a Walgreens here in Richmond VA that has great customer service and very friendly and helpful employees. It is located at the corner of Hopkins Rd and Meadowdale Blvd. And I have learned from my daughter, be nice and polite no matter the attitude of the employee who is checking you out or assisting you. Attitudes reap attitudes and smiles reap smiles. Remember this

    • austin101385

I have to disagree with the comments regarding bad customer support at Walgreens. I work at Walgreens and the always strive for good customer service…there's always a bad apple in the bunch, and if you find one, that is what the survey at the bottom of the receipts are for. Unlike CVS and Rite-Aid, Walgreens stands for good service like you'd see at Publix and Chick-fil-a. Please let a manager know if you do not recieve the best.

      • kristieboyd

LIke anywhere there will always be some good and some bad. The one near me in Charlotte is not the best with customer service in that the few times I have been there recently they are just really slow. They do not mind me having coupons, they are just slow and not always the nicest when things do not go just right.

      • amanda

the manager at the store I shop at is the rudest of all the employees

      • Brooke

Ok, this is laughable to me. More like loads of bad apples. Ugh!

        • Brooke

But I appreciate your attitude… although I will still stay away and shop at the other drugstores instead.

      • Elizabeth

I am glad that you strive for high quality service in your position as a Walgreens employee. However, in my experience, Walgreens is no where near the same ballpark as Publix and Chick-fil-A. I really do hope they can change though. Fortunately, the Walgreens closest to my house has been ok to work with. However, I have had horrible experiences at other Walgreens (even before I was a serious couponer) and in general dread going to Walgreens. On the other hand, I have had OUTSTANDING customer service at every Publix I have visited. I don't even mind occasionally paying higher regular prices there rather than going to another store.

      • WENDYSAWYER

You are one in a million…the one close to my house is dreadful. Never has the sale price correct and they HATE coupons…Publix and ChikFiLa are in a league of their own in customer satisfaction. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Hang in their with your work ethics, it might just rub off on others. Thank you for what you do! :-)

      • RebeccaFer

I'm glad you are sticking up for Wags but honestly, your attitude is far from all the Wags I have shopped. I have one that is near me that one of the assistant managers is the absolute worst and actually made me cry on one of those days that just everything went wrong and he was the cherry on top of a horrible pile of crud. I agree though, not every employee or store is bad but it is nowhere close to the same league as Chic-Fil-A's staff. I don't have a Publix around but if you compare them to CFA, I'd love to go to one now! I hope you continue with what I am sure is excellent customer service because it is only with people like you that Wags will win over people. There are more and more couponers everyday with this economy and Wags can not afford to be known to this community as not only unfriendly but mean too. Thanks for your comment. :D

      • Julie

I had a manger tell me I could not use a 1.00 manufacturer's coupon off on a product if I wanted the Bucks Back Reward to print!!! He said you have to pay price for the items for it to work!! I insisted that we try and guess what it printed right out. You should of seen his face when I paid 2.00 and got back 6.00. I think he learned something that day about coupons.:)

    • Bethany

How cool for you. Bet that was a monumental moment for you!

    • bunchofpants

Speaking of Southern Savers shoppers in Walgreens, I stopped by Wags because they had the best milk price near me, and the woman in front of me had tons of coupons. I peeked at her binder because I'm always curious about other people's coupon systems, and what was peeking out the top? A Southern Savers printable shopping list! I almost wanted to stop her and introduce myself as a fellow SS shopper but then I though she might think I'm weird (OK, I actually am weird, but I hide it well) ;-)

      • Tracy A

If I see someone with a list I speak up.They are always excited to see a fellow couponer..One time we were all helping each other find the Deals at Publix.. I love SS!!!

      • Joannah

I attack fellow coupon shoppers all the time and if they don’t use Southernsavers I tell them that they should. When I went to the bank to deposit a rebate check the cashier got all excited. She was waiting for the exact same rebate check. We spent several minutes discussing coupons and Southernsavers.com

      • cdarwak

That woman was probably ME! LOL! Next time, please introduce yourself :)

      • Amy_Q

I always introduce myself if I see a SS list! I ran into a very nice lady the other day at Walgreens this way and we shared our “deals.” She had a few that I had missed and vice-versa. Speak up next time you see someone. I'm sure he or she would LOVE to meet you!

    • This is incredible!! Huge congrats!!!

    • jengc

The walgreens in Antioch (Haywood lane and Antioch Pike) south of Nashville is awesome. I have shown the manager and another girl that works there this site and how to use the coupons. I just love that store. They have the best people working there. Always friendly, always cracking me up. I walk in and they say “the coupon lady is here!!!” I laugh.

    • Lauren

That is awesome! I wish Batesburg wasn't a 2 hour drive from where I live! I actually have had pretty good luck with the Walgreens at Pelham and 85 in Greenville, SC. Thanks Jenny for teaching me to use the Walgreens store coupons last!!!

      • socoupon

        That IS a good one!

    • Lori

Wow! That's awesome, I quick shopping there b/c it was such a pain and I was always let down!

    • Renee

Wow! Great sign. I finally feel the love. :)

    • Sarah D

I love my WAGS at the corner of Germantown Rd and Farmington Blvd in Germantown, TN

    • Chantelle

      Awesome!

    • pwilson4

my 2 cents: there is a lack of training for employees regarding the coupon/rr system at Walgreens and it is a complicated system to begin with. I have worked there for 6 years and I have learned more about the coupon policy from this website than from any training I have received through the company. (granted, I am rarely involved in running a register in my position as a pharmacist). The lack of training leads to frustration and confusion among the employees so they probably do think “oh crap,,,here comes a couponer!” ..So, if possible, try to give the minimum. wage cashier a break and take your complaints to corporate (1-800-walgree ). Having said all of that…I have been to some Walgreens in my area that are very nice and have wonderful customer service.

      • Mandie

Just because someone makes minimum wage doesn't give them the right to treat honest couponers (notice the honest part) a hard time. I feel blessed because most of the cashiers at my wags are very nice and use coupons themselves, but my sister lives in Dothan AL and she is given a hard time by one cashier everytime she goes in there. Not cool.

    • Mimi1979

I have to say that the Walgreens in Lake City, FL is really good. I've never had any of them make me feel like I was imposing on them….some of them have actually complimented my savings! Thanks Walgreens!

    • Tara

I wish Batesburg, SC was just a little closer, and I might try shopping at Wal-greens again. However, the North Charleston, SC is what is close to my home, and the customer service is HORRIBLE! I've dealt with the manager, and she is definitely no gem to work with either. I've had multiple bad experiences with the customer service and coupons, but the last straw was when I was supposed to get $8 worth of register rewards back, and the machine didn't print them. When I inquired about my RR's the cashier said, “yeah, the machine is broken.” I asked the manager if there was something that could be done about my not receiving RR's, and she said, “sorry.” So, from that day forward, I do not shop at Wal-greens anymore.

    • Angela

Awwww, I sorta teared up when I saw this picture. So cool! My Wags on Main St. in Summerville, SC is neither helpful or rude. I'm not sure they're aware customers are ever there.

      • RebeccaFer

I just had a funny visual of people walking around with only manequins to ask for help, lol.

      • ErinLisa

There is a Walgreens on Main St in The Ville? I grew up in Summerville (Go Greenwave!) but have not been back in 20 years. There was an old timey 5 and dime store on Main St in 1984, is that where the Wags is?

      • anna

o they can be very rude..when they notice that you're there :(

    • Michelle

I have two Wags that I shop at, and at first I was afraid to try the wags system after all the negative comments, but some deals are just too good to pass up. I love the Wags on Ocoee st, Cleveland TN(across from Staples) I just love one of the cashiers there! I was doing my transactions the other night and all of the sudden there was a long line. They quickly opened another line, and I apologized to her for taking so long, she said, No, we have customer service, we'll just open another line! She is so great! The manager is awesome too. I also shop at 25/Ocoee Wags, and have had good service there too.

      • DonnaTN

I've gone to the one on Ocoee St, they were friendly when they first rang me up but after looking at my receipt after I had paid and went back in and told them THEY messed up and had to fix it, they made it seem like it was my fault. So that was my last time there. I like the one on 25th & Ocoee and Paul Huff better.

    • Brooke82

I have to say the Walgreen's in Goose Creek on Redbank Rd is awesome. The employees are so friendly and the manager is very helpful. I feel so lucky to have them right down the road from my house.

    • kristanlynn

i've had problems at walgreens also! i went there with my coupons and list… and at check-out the lady was not helpful and rude because she didn't understand what i was doing. so i left the items on her register and did my shopping elsewhere. rude customer service to me = rude customer.

    • My closest Wags now has 2 really great Beauty consultant gals and they are very interested in learning what I have to tell them each week. OTher than that I don't find Walgreens to be coupon friendly either! I had to go to a different store yesterday adn did multiple transactions and the girl was a grump!!! Total grump!

    • momto2boys

I have to say that I have stayed away from Walgreen's too because I was “afraid”. I recently bit the bullet so to speak and ventured in, bought some huggies and got some RR, then went back a couple of days later to use my RR and the cashier inspected them like they had eyes and said ” I have to be careful with these because I took $24 from someone the other day that were expired”. I was like ummmm so, what does that have to do with mine, the expiration date is clearly visible and two weeks away. I don't understand these cashiers beef with coupons, I mean if they are used on the correct products the store gets their money plus a handling fee. So it's not like they are giving products away, and why exactly do they have RR if they have issues with you actually using them?? I am tired of cashiers looking at me like I am doing something wrong, I wish stores would educate their employees so that they understand that the store gets their money. I think some of them think that we are cheating the store….

    • DDThompson

      Love it!!!!

    • I go to 2 different walgreens in Gainesville, GA. They are AWESOME!!! I have never had a bad cashiers!! Always nice and helpful!! I LOVE my walgreens!!!!!

    • I had a great experience last night at one of my local Walgreens. When I walked in, my least favorite cashier was at the front register, and I was dreading my trip. The was a lady who was running the cosmetics counter was actually going through her personal coupons to see if there were any coupons she could give the customers. She really got excited when RR's printed out. She saw my coupon binder and we spent about 10 minutes discussing it. I almost wished I had asked her her schedule so I could plan my trips around it.

    • Linda

I plan my trip so I can catch the best ever Walgreen's employee in TN. She is wonderful and always gets excited over how much I save.

    • Lauren

      That is so cool.

    • Brooke

I am not too impressed with the walgreens around my area in NC. They never give me my register rewards even if they do print out. I don't know how many times I have had to call or go back to the store, return items and then buy them again for me to get my RR. I don't shop there often, only if there is a great deal.

    • jessinlexsc

Don't let that sign fool you! They are still some very rude cashiers that work at the Batesburg Walgreens!

    • clanton4

Wish my Walgreens was that nice! One of the cashiers acts like I'm totally cramping her style when she rings me up!!

    • meme

I mentioned on another post that the Walgreens I shop at has improved their attitude and coupon friendliness lately. I think the CVS across the street is giving them some stiff competition. I was treated like a criminal at another one, but two are in my favor right now.

I only shop at alternate stores if I am going in another direction. I only stop at a couple if I am really desperate to get a sale item I really need. No extra trips for Glade or Air Wick, although I would have enjoyed having those items. According to the store managers at CVS and WAGS, these items are scooped up almost immediately. Someone's house really smells good!

    • Kristyn

      Wow! That is so awesome!

    • Melissa

      Congratulations Jenny! You're famous! :-)

My brother manages Walgreens. I am going to take this in and show him! Maybe he can program the scrolling lcd board outside the highway to say the same. Although I doubt it, being the fact that someone in our store accused me of stealing by couponing,

    • Jennie

This is awesome!!!! I wish I lived in SC!

    • Melinda

My Walgreens in Travelers Rest, SC is awesome! Every employee that I encounter is so helpful and friendly. When I have an issue with a coupon or a RR not printing, the mangers are so nice and helpful. However, there are other Wags stores that I frequently visit and their customer service is lacking. The Wags in Greer is horrible! I only get good service from one of their employees. I always check when I go in to see if my favorite cashier is working. If not, sometimes I leave!

    • Sara

Word of advice! Spend an extra $1 from time to time on the cashier's SUGGESTIVE SELL items. They are the items right next to the register like specialty candy or specialty gum. Ask the cashier ” is this your suggestive sell ?” I have befriended several grumpy cashiers by doing this and they remember you! The yhave to sell 20 of those per shift and they get in trouble if they don't so do your cashiers a favor and add an item from time to time, it helps them and you in the long run : )

    • wvarner

I have tried Walgreens, Rite Aid and CVS. CVS wins hands down. The best thing we can do as couponing consumers is to patron the stores that give us the best bang for our buck and the best in customer service. That's the only way the other stores will feel the pain in their wallets. In other words, reward the drug store you like best by shopping there.

    • Amy

I'm so blessed ! hehehe My Walgreens on Broad street in Chattanooga, TN and Rossville blvd chattanooga, TN they are awesome ! customer service, friendliness and patience. so far so good, eh!? let's hope Walgreens corporate gets wind of the goods and bads we're experiencing and strives to improve overall. God bless you Jenny for what you do !

    • gammaqueen

My Walgreens in Denver, NC (actual address is Maiden) is wonderful! You couldn't ask for a nicer group of people. They always try to make the customer happy. There is one cashier named Sharon, that is especially good. She is always telling you about a deal and goes out of her way to help you in any way she can.

      • Meredith S

My parents live right down the road from this one. I typically avoid Wags when we travel b/c they can be such a hassel, but this one is great. I almost always plan a trip when we are visiting the area.

    • Amy_Q

I love this sign!!! I usually avoid Walgreens for the same reasons as many of you have started. I always feel “dirty” when I shop there. LOL!

I was in my Wags a few months back and the cashier seemed very stoic. No smile, no expression, just blah. I tried to smile and make conversation, but she seemed to get irritated with my attempts. I had multiple transactions and a couple of them did not print my RR. She told me I could return them at the cosmetics counter when I got done. I apologized and said to her that I didn't mean to be a bother to her (because by this time, it was OBVIOUS that she was aggravated with me) She snapped at me and said, “No, the only thing that bothers me is that you keep apologizing. Just give me your stuff.”
Needless to say, I left feeling not so good. I was only trying to be nice. Maybe she was just having a bad day?

So… After avoiding Wags for quite some time, I went in again to see if I would have better luck. Same cashier. Same non-expression. I decided to just smile and leave it at that. I told her up front that I had multiple transactions and she said “Just give it to me.” I politely said that I would be happy to step to the back of the line between transactions as they were a bit busy. She again snapped at me and said, “NO. Just gimme your stuff and do what you do.” She had to call other cashiers to the front to check the other guests out and showed obvious disgust when she did. I finished my transactions and politely said thank you and told her to have a nice day. What more could I do? I left there feeling very uncomfortable =(

    • me

I am really glad there is another Walgreens that gives good customer service. I am very lucky as there are approx 5 stores within a 12 mile radius of my house. ONLY ONE THAT THEY GO OUT OF THERE WAY.I shop atleast 4 times a week @ walgreens & sometimes have to go to other ones as my favorite store is out of stock.I just dread going to the other ones. I have horror stories at one store every time I have gone. I have left there in tears saying I will never go back even if it means no more RR items. I have taken my husband with me just so he could see how they treat you.He could NOT beIieve the attitude the employees had. I really try not to go there unless I have to.I wish all the stores had the wonderful employees & managers that work in Elkhart,In.They are all about the customer even when I have witnessed customers in the wrong they STILL treat them good.

    • lwc0724

Great sign!! I too wish I lived near that Walgreens. I hardly ever shop Walgreens for the same reason many other SS shoppers don't…most of them are pretty rude. I try my best just to overlook them and I always follow SS etiquette no matter where I shop. However I have to say I cringe at the thought of shopping at WAGs for fear of the treatment I most likely will get.

Thanks for the post. It's nice to know there are some out there that welcome us with open arms. :-)

I try my best just to overlook them and I always follow SS etiquette no matter where I shop. However I have to say I cringe at the thought of shopping at WAGs for fear of the treatment I most likely will get.

Thanks for the post. It's nice to know there are some out there that welcome us with open arms. :-)

I love the Walgreens in Batesburg, SC.

You are right about the customer service. Gah, I can barely stand to go in there because it always turns into a HUGE hassle. Maybe I'll give them another chance … especially now that they are printing their coupon books again. But sometimes even using W-greens coupons at W-greens is a big issue. I take them to Publix (which may be why they stopped printing them for a while … hmmm… :)

Note to my post … I just read the other comments. I am glad I'm not the only one who has huge problems with WG. If the problems are this widespread, I wonder why they don't do something about it? Anyway, here's to couponing, wherever you shop! :)

Our Walgreens in Millbrook AL is ALWAYS the BEST! They always have everything i need in stock, their store is very clean, employees are soooo helpful and nice, the manager ALWAYS speaks (Mr. Watkins is AWESOME!) to us every time we come in plus the pharmacy has helped us out more that i can count. I cant say much about other Walgreens in my area, but i will go out of my way to make it to Millbrook.

I think that I've heard you say that before, but there are 2 cashiers at my Walgreens that I absolutely LOVE! One of them says that her daughter uses Southern Savers.

I will shop the Batesburg store more often (even though a little out of my way) after seeing this sign. Nice to be appreciated for a change.

Wags in my area are hit or miss … There's one about 7 miles from me that a few months ago the young man checking me out said I couldn't use my two .55 off 3 Kleenex q when I had 6 boxes of Kleenex during the B1G1 … I told him 'Give me my coupons back, please, because if you are going to give me a hard time about that one, you're going to give me a hard time about everything in my buggy' (It was the same week that Purex was B1G1 and also had B1G1 coupons out) … I was so upset that I called back afer I left and asked to speak to the manager … I explained to her that while there may be a few people out there that try to get one over on stores, most of us are very honest, and spend a decent amount of time (greatly reduced thanks to Jenny!) going through their sales and matching up our coupons, their coupons, etc, before ever setting foot in their store, take the time to read all packaging to ensure we are buying the right size, scent, whatever that the sales and coupons apply to, and go out of our way to make sure everything we have is what we actually can get before we ever approach the register, only to have someone give us a hard time about a .55 q? Really? That manager told me that if that ever happened to me again, to please have the cashier call the manager and they will work it out … I haven't tested the theory yet, but who knows … Another location about 7 miles in the other direction from me has an older cashier who will take the coupons, but does it weird … She'll scan some of the items in a transaction, hit total and tell the customer how much their items are before coupons, then scan the coupons, then hit total again and tell the customer how much their total is now at after the coupons … And she'll do this multiple times throughout a transaction … I watched her ring a lady up and she missed the two cadbury eggs that the lady had on the counter which I'm sure were her filler items, and then told the lady she couldn't use her RR … If she'd rung the cadbury eggs, the lady could have used them!! But that particular cashier kind of has an air of superiority about her in terms of coupons and seems to have kind of set herself up as the resident expert …. And while she's not outright rude or abrasive, she's kind of … I don't know … huffy? Just gives off a whole 'I know what I'm doing more than you know what you're doing' kinda vibe …. All that said, there is a Wags at the corner intersection 5 minutes from my MIL's house, and if there's a Wags deal that I just can't pass up, I'll wait til I take my son to Grandma's that week and just hit that one … I don't think the general population in the immediate area for that store is too coupon savvy, so they're almost never out of stock on whatever item is the great deal, and they have never given me a hard time about q's … So … its hit or miss … I feel bad for the few Wags employees who have posted here, because clearly you do care and you do try, but unfortunately, as most everyone else who has posted here has shared, you're the exception to the rule, by far … I def prefer CVS, because there seems overall to be more opportunity to earn ECB's, and they don't make it nearly as complicated to use them …

I work @ the store in Monroe, NC. Feel free to stop by anytime! :) I love talking deals and coupons!

I work at the Lexington, SC Walgreen's, and I was just “clued-in” to this website by one of my patients! I love it, and I am trying to learn the basics as soon as possible! I am a full-time student and I also work part-time; therefore, saving money is always a GREAT thing! We try to provide good customer service in my department at Walgreen's and we welcome all the Southern Savers, too! I hope visitors of this website will come see my store as well, and we will be glad to help you save! : )

I'm surprised to hear that Walgreens doesn’t have great customer service. I've always received great customer service from Walgreens. I loved the one I went to in Fort Wayne, IN and I love the one I go to now in Columbia, SC now. However I have had nothing but issues with CVS customer service, especially here in the Columbia, SC area.

I went to Walgreens yesterday and had great customer service here in South Carolina. However, the thing I did not like was that the sale items were not clearly marked. Is this their normal policy???? It made things soooo confusing! After hunting down the items and making multiple transactions and saving 65%, I was happy!

    • The Walgreens in Goose Creek on Red Bank has great ladies working there :) Twice this week even suggest sale/coupon items for me and flip through their store coupons to make sure I don't need one for what I'm getting.

The newest Walgreens here in Roanoke (on Franklin Rd.) is great! The manager rolls his RR too and helps me out when I get stuck. Two of the employees have asked us to teach them couponing. Today my husband stopped in for a drink and the cashier pointed out a coupon for him. Awesome service guys. Keep it up! The only thing I wish is that they were a 24 hour store. Sometimes, midnight is the only time I get to go without the kiddos.

I love that sign! I wish everyone was that welcoming!

    • wish my walgreens was as welcoming. Kudos to the manager of the store. I hope walgreens corporate gets alot of positive response from this so that it may instill these values in other stores.
