Earlier this year I unexpectedly stumbled upon my children’s favorite new game… Animal Planet Wildlands by Nukotoys.  First know that we aren’t big electronic gamers.  We don’t have any game systems, we just have an iPad that occasionally may be used as a way to distract three little girls when we need them to be quiet.

Animal Planet Wildlands is a FREE iPad game that anyone can get from the App store.  It comes with a couple animals already programmed in the game, so your kids can start playing right away.  The concept… they are controlling an animal across the safari, plains and mountains.  As you turn the iPad right, the animal goes to the right etc. so you are truly the animal driver.  You can race other animals, go on quests, unlock puzzle pieces and hidden areas, and lots of other things.

The game gets more fun when you pick up a pack of Animal Planet Cards.  These are available at a number of stores or even inside the game from the app store.  You tap the card to the iPad screen and magically the new animal is loaded into the game.  There are cards for animals, food, and other things that interact with the animals like storms.  Right now there are 50 different animals that you could be!!

For our family, every kid would give it a huge two thumbs up.  It is easy enough that the 4 year old can play it, but also challenging where my twins love it too.  For this mama I love that to get started is completely free, and additional cards if we want to add a new animal every now and then only cost $1.99 for 3-4 cards.

If your kiddos are not big animal nuts, they also have a Monsterology game that is built off the same technology.  You can battle evil wizards and tap cards to add new powers and features to the game.  For me, I have to say this isn’t something that would go over well in a house of younger girls, but I know a few boys that would LOVE this.

Win a Set of Cards!

Nukotoys is giving 4 Readers a Premium Collector’s Box Set plus (3) card packs of the game of your choice, either Animal Planet Wildlands or Monsterology.
