Here is your round up of all the back to school deals running through Saturday 7/31.  The list is getting longer and longer each week!  Many of these deals are also posted by store on Southern Savers.  For deals at drugstores and grocery stores click on the store name at the top of the page.

Because back to school sales only last about 4 weeks, once a year, knowing the lowest prices we will see for most items is very difficult.  I would recommend instead looking over last weeks round up list and this list and you should have a good idea of what prices are going to be for items on your list.

If anyone is looking for a cheap mini-notebook computer, officemax(dot)com has a Mini HP for $249. It is listed on the site under “clearance”. It even comes with a sleeve and mouse. I bought one a few days ago with my maxperks. However, it is pink.

      • Juliansurveys

I got one on clearance at Staples a few weeks ago for $199

      • SouthernMom

Suemh, thanks so much for this heads-up! I’ve been waiting forever to find just the right netbook, and this one was perfectly pink, too! It was a great use of my accrued MaxPerks. I guess the stars just aligned for me today. :) Thanks again!

To Beck & Yogastyle: I’m not an expert on MaxPerks, but the guidelines are pretty lenient, so you could probably easily justify what you do as a business, or as a teacher (ever volunteer at a school or tutor your child? Then you’re most certainly a “teacher” for OfficeMax purposes). The trickier part, however, is deciding which one better meets your needs. I knew I was going to need to purchase a couple of higher-ticket items (and wanted my perks available as soon as possible), so I registered as a business. The best advice is to go to the top of Jenny’s website and do a search on “MaxPerks.” There are lots of people who have gone into more detail about it. Like any rewards program, it takes a little time and effort to learn the ropes. You might also want to check out the MaxPerks website at https://www.officemaxperks.com/login.aspx
        Good luck!

        • Suemh

I had $190 in Maxperks. Another great thing about this netbook is that it has Windows XP!

      • Beck

I was wondering the same thing. Is it just for teachers? Or everyone like Staples Rewards? Do they send store credits? Or rebate checks? Anyone know?

    • Yogastyle

Does anyone know how the Max Perks Work?

    • newbie

Has anyone seen the large crayons and pencils for Kindergarten on sale? Thanks!

    • Juliansurveys

The Hammermill copy paper at Staples is actually $.01 after rebate, not $1.

    • Dbld2w2

Many of the Staples items (except the free backpacks) are from last week's sale not this one. This week it's the Staples multipurpose paper on sale for $.01 after easy rebate. The $0.25 items are pens, highlighters, and small really useful boxes.

      • aczek16

yeah. i noticed that too. the $.01 deals include a pack of pens (limit 2, with $5 mim purchase) and 500 sheet Staples multipurpose paper (limit 2).

      • Beck

I got that deal on the Staple multipurpose paper week before last and the limit listed in the sales flyer for that week was 2 rebates. So can I do it again for this week's sale and still get a rebate? Or is there like a monthly limit, or even just a limit period, like you can only do this deal so many times all together? Or does the rebate limit reset every time they run that deal in their sales flyer again?

        • Kgresham725

If you look at the rebate offer numbers they are different for the Staples multipurpose paper. I am guessing that since the rebate offer numbers are different then you can get 2 more. I will be giving it a try!!!!

          • beck

Yay! Thanks for the info, I hadn't noticed that. Let us know if it works for you. I'm going to try it as well.

    • Emoorehhi

the officemax in charlotte did not have the deals listed here…

      • Tnwms42101

I am in Valdosta, GA and we also didn't have the deals listed here. The store said the 20 cent paper was last week not this week. I don't know…

        • Kaminer317

Office Max – OfficeMax Filler Paper, 100 ct., 20¢ (limit 6)

I went to the Evans, Georgia Office Max to get this deal, and they said it was last week. :(

    • I know that we all don't love to shop at Walmart, but they have Elmor glue sticks, Elmor glue, and Crayola 24 count crayons all for 25 cents each. Just an fyi, I would rather have Crayola at Walmart than Rose Art at Kmart for the same price… Happy Shopping! I love this site. Thanks again Jenny for all your hard work.

    • Melanie

Where do I go to find the full Staples match-up list for this week? There's not a link here that I can find.

      • Tfrost99

If you search for 'Staples' in the search box at the top of her home page you will find the latest match up.

    • Jill Howell

Thank you so much for all your work on these school supply lists! It's so helpful! I'm wondering if you are able to include the other items schools want like…ziploc bags, kleenex, paper towels, lysol wipes, etc.? That would be so great.

If anyone needs a new laptop, Best Buy has the Toshiba Satellite, 4 GB Memory, 320GB hard drive, and Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor for $399.99. Comes with 6 months of “ask an agent” membership and 6 months of virus and spyware protection. The circular said it was only a 2-Day deal, Sunday and Monday, but the website is still showing it all for the same price. Have it store pick up and you will only pay $1.99 for the shipping. Also, if your tax-free weekend falls within 14 days of purchase, you can take your receipt to the store and get that money refunded…as long as the computer is still the same price or lower. Bought mine yesterday and already loving it!

    • Beck

So, funny story… Last night I was writing down all the school supply deals from the Southern Savers site that I wanted to go and get, and somehow I wrote “Home Depot” instead of “Office Depot” on my list. So I went into Home Depot today asking where I could find the school supplies and those guys looked at me like I had 3 heads. And of course it was only after I asked and made a fool of myself that I realized what I had probably done. Ha Ha! What a dork! I hope I never have to show my face at Home Depot again! Lesson is that you really shouldn't do your shopping lists at 2:00 am!

    • Sara

I went to Office Max today looking for the 12 pk of #2 pencils and they said that information was old. I also went to staples looking for the glue for 1 cent and they said that was 2 weeks ago. How does this work–I though it was until 7/31.
