    • Jeri

Is the turkey any particular brand or just a Bi-Lo turkey? At 49 cents per pound it is a great deal but could be even better if it is a name brand that currently offers a coupon.

      • tryingtosavemomma

Our ad online says “Honeysuckle White 10lbs & up”.

        • Jeri

Thanks, that is going to be a great deal on turkey. Should pay about $4 for a ten pounder with the $1 off q. This ends up being way cheaper than whole chickens and I like the taste of turkey better anyway!

    • Lanavdixon

The only brands of turkeys at my Bi-Lo today were Honeysuckle White and Butterball. Looks like maybe the H White will be the 49 cent ones. There is a $1/1 printable on their website.

      • Jeri

That's what I was hoping. I printed the Honeysuckle one this morning in anticipation of one of the grocery stores having a good deal. With the q, should be able to get a 10lb turkey for $4.00!!!

        • Smcreech

I'm not finding the Q. What is the zip code?

          • Jeri

No zip code. When you go to the website and watch the little opening video about feeding america, there will be several tabs along the bottom. The second one from the right shows a frozen turkey. Click on that, put in your email addy and name then it should prompt you to print.

      • What is the website address?

    • sosorozo

Okay, just a word of advice re turkeys. Please don't buy the cheapest turkey, I bought the absolute cheapest one a few years ago and it still haunts me. If you have a Trader Joes, near you, their brined turkey is absolutely awesome.

      • Jeri

I usually buy a butterball for Thanksgiving day but also planned to buy a few extras to cook, pull off the bone and freeze for casseroles, turkey salad, etc. I totally agree about brining. When we cook for Thanksgiving, we always brine our own the night before so the flavor is typically top notch.

        • Motcmom

What are you talking about – brining a turkey? New to this….sorry! Thanks!

          • Shawn

There is a good recipe for turkey that tells you measurements for brining. It is on foodnetwork.com and it is the “Good Eats Roast Turkey” the host that does it is Alton Brown. I think it is one of their top turkey recipes each year. My parents and I have been using it for the past couple years and it turns out to be the juciest and best tasting turkey I’ve ever had.

          • Bev

There are several different recipes on brining a turkey, but I've found easiest way to brine a turkey is to use straight-up kosher salt and water. You have to make sure you have a pan big enough to submerge your turkey. Add water to cover the turkey and then a LOT of salt–I don't really measure, but I buy a 13 oz container of kosher salt and use most, if not all of it for a 16-20 pound turkey. I know it sounds like you're pickling the turkey, but it's really not overkill! You let it soak over night, then before you cook it, you dump the water out and rinse the turkey thoroughly. Cook as you normally would, and the turkey remains extremely moist and flavorful! It's amazing!

            • Twoboysareenough

if you don't have a pan big enough we always use a cooler!

          • Rcsegar

Brining is “soaking” the turkey usually overnight in a concentrated solution of usually salt, but I've seen recipies with syrups, brown sugar, etc. It is supposed to use the processes of difusion and osmosis to pull out the blood and put more flavor in the meat. I'm sure you could google it and get tons of recipies.

          • Julyorchid23

We always brine our turkey for three days – we put it in the bottom crisper drawer in the fridge. Fill the crisper with water and add lots of salt. Change the water and add salt two to three times a day. It makes the a big difference and well worth the trouble!!

      • RebeccaFer

I bought my turkey from Walmart last year because it was the absolute cheapest and even though I normally steer clear of WM, I gotta say it was awesome! We did brine it though. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. It sounds like it was quite a bad event.

    • Great sale on Red Baron and Totino's. My problem: Freezers are FULL! I came to the conclusion that I can not buy anything frozen next week. Guess we'd better start eating!

      • Jeri

I have this exact problem. Though a good problem to have, I am going to struggle to do any frozen foods for the next month!

      • Agh092362

any suggestions on how to “pack” a freezer and keep it organized? mine is caos, I usually have to pull half the stuff out to find what I'm looking for.

        • My freezer in the kitchen (side-by-side) is total chaos. I have a small chest freezer in my utility room which is also full.I cleaned it out a few weeks ago. I went to Dollar General looking for some sort of trays/baskets that I could use. I only bought one because I wasn't sure if it would fit. It actually was a little too wide but I made it work. This is what I did. The left side of the freezer is elevated and I stacked all of the boxed foods there, like pizzas, pancakes, dinners, etc. On the deep side, I first put in the meat items like sandwich meats, weiners, a roast, and a couple of pizzas that would not fit on the other side. Then I put all of the frozen veggies into a reusable Bi-Lo shopping bag. I know this may sound crass, but it is large, easy to handle, and will condense itself as items are removed. When I need something from it, I can easily pull the entire bag out and set it on the counter top to find the correct item. I put this bag in on top of the loose items in the bottom. There is still room on one side to slip a few more-likely-needed items. Then I put in the container that I bought at DG. It is the perfect size to fit and comes just to the top, on top of the bag. In this tray I keep most of my meats like ground beef, pork chops, smoked sausages, etc. When I open my freezer, I see the tray of meat on the right and the stacked boxes on the left. The tray is easily removed, to get to the veggoes; the veggies are easily removed to get to the bottom items, and removing the tray allows me to see everything that is stacked on the left side. I know this probably sounds really weird, but since I am the one who normally has to remove whatever is needed, it works for me. But it is also easy for my teen-aged son to see what kind of frozen pizzas or dinners we have when he wants something quick.

        • angie

I use various sized plastic storage containers to keep mine organized. This way I can pull the container off the shelf as if it is a drawer, remove what I want and slide it back into place. There are a few things that don't fit into the containers, but those aren't usually what cause chaos. My husband says I have the most organized freezer on the planet. It's a very simple system. Of course, if you have a chest freezer it won't work and my advice would be to start saving money to buy an upright since the chest type is so user unfriendly.

    • jenben

i work at bilo and for as long as i can remember, we have always done the honeysuckle white turkeys as the ones on special.

      • Jogarrett63

        Honeysuckle Whites are awesome!

    • Jennifer H.

I have a coupon for $0.65 off 1 lb. or more Butterball deli meats. I got it from a tearpad at the Bi-lo I use in Spartanburg, SC. Maybe there are some more out there.

    • Sara

I got a few catalina coupons for the Healthy Choice soups. They are 1/2 man q's.

    • Susan

FYI, I was in Bilo tonight and found a booklet, Get your holiday party started, holiday fun guide, it is by Nabisco, has receips and 3 manufactors coupons. They are all $1/2, maxwell house coffee, maxwell house international cafe and Nabisco crackers 7-16.5 oz. Has some yummy ideas.

      • momto2boys

I found it too…nice surprise since I never seem to find any coupons in the stores!

    • The Eagle Brand milk coupon is the Charlotte Observer and the Greenville News was for .55 off one. Makes it .88

      • RebeccaFer

        Thanks for mentioning that! :D

    • Homeisthebeachnow

Bi-Lo will price match the turkey to a competitor-Food Lion has them has .39 lb

      • Paige

I also saw that Bottom-Dollar Foods (also owned by Food Lion, I think) has them for .37 lb. I wonder if it will still give us the .10 fuel perks? I will try it today and see!

        • Paige

I got the price match and the .10 fuel perks!

    • Nmckeown

Went to BILO just a bit ago- there is a caveat with the turkey- you have to spend $35 to get the $0.49/pound price.

      • Bev

Does anyone know if it's $35 before or after coupons? I'm assuming before, but just wanted to verify.

        • sunset

Probably before coupons. I bought one this morning and was told by the manager that he thought it would ring up .49 cents per pound whether you have $35 purchase or not. He told me to try it. He said the reason they use all these restrictions is so people don't come in and buy all of the turkey's.

          • Paige

The managers specifically told me it would not scan for the correct price of .49 unless you spent the $35. The cashier manually typed in the # from the tag instead of scanning it in. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

            Also, don't forget the $1 off coupon from the honeysuckle(dot)com website! I got a 14 lb turkey for $5.18 – $1 Q = $4.18 Yippee!

            • Paige

sorry again, the website for the $1 Q is at honeysucklewhite(dot)com. not just honeysuckle. :)

            • Jeri

I used this one too and got a 12lb turkey for $4.72. Also the ad states that Bi-Lo will match any competitor's price. I didn't have the ad from Harris Teeter but plan to get one today because HT has turkeys on sale this week for .39 per pound. If Bi-Lo will price match at .39 and you use the $1 off q, a 10lb turkey would be $2.90!!!!

        • Paige

I went today with the turkey in the cart hoping I had the $35 dollars. Before my bonus card, $101. After scanning the card it was $52. I had a lower price for a turkey which customer service had to come over and do for me and it took off $5 and I still got the Bi-lo extra fuel perks. Then after that I gave her my coupons and had a $29 bill.

      • Lisa

I was wondering, can you do several 35.00 purchases and get a turkey with each or is it just 1 per card? I need to get some gift cards and thought I might just get them at Bilo, so I can get a couple of turkeys

        • annie

I did the turkey deal at Harris Teeter yesterday. They required $40 purchase. I bought 4-$10 Harris Teeter gift cards and the turkey. I got the special price and I have $40 future HT dollars to spend. (I don't usually spend more than $20 w/coupons so this deal would be unavailable to me otherwies). As long as the fine print doesn't say you can't do it….I don't know why it wouldn't work here. They usually have displays of other gift cards (like Starbucks/Homedepot etc) if you wanted another kind of card…Just a thought

      • Debra

Hi, I was reading your comment and I just came back from Publix and got Publix Turkey for 59 cents a pound and I didn't have to spend any certain amount to get it at that price. I went there to pick up some sale items. There isn't much at Bi-lo this week that I would spend $35 on to get the turkey at 49 cents.

    • Amhoward07

Jenny or anyone one else who can answer this, I read that in BiLo coupon policy they double coup. so does that mean they will double .50 to a $1 right?

      • AFwifey2004

They double coupons at my store up to .60 so if you have a .60 coupon, they will double it up to $1.20

        • Shannon

charlotte nc stores will double up to .99

      • yellow

I have my BiLo ad in front of me and it says “double manufacturers' coupons everyday up to 99 cents.” This is exactly the same at the HT policy, at least where I live……

        Hope this helps.

    • sunset

Bought 2 packs of Quilted Northern toilet paper and wanted to use 2 of the .50 cent coupons. They worked but didn't double. The cashier said that a lot of the B1G1 free items that you use a coupon on they won't double the coupon. Is that true? Not a huge deal would just like to know.

      • stephanie

oh no! that's not good…..I would also like to know how it works.

      • Jjfdv

My coupon doubled on the quilted norhtern.

      • momto2boys

That happened to me and I took my receipt to the customer service desk and she said “sorry that happened” and gave me cash back.

      • Paige

I usually buy mostly B1G1 with coupons that double and they all always double. I watch them too to make sure. I have never had a problem.

      • Remmie

Did the cashier manually prevent the couponn from doubling? Bi-Lo stores in my area are hit or miss with coupons. I try to use self-checkout when possible to avoid the hassle. I am not trying to cheat anyone (and I still refuse to use coupons for the “free” meal deal items–just seems wrong to me), but there is one cashier at one store that I refuse to check out with, regardless of how short her line is and how long the others are. No, thanks, I'll wait!

        • Tiffany

After the first coupon at my store, if there is an overage, the computer system automatically adjusts to eliminate the overage, so i get the item at no cost except for the tax I have to pay (and the cost of coupons if I printed or ebay'd them) You shouldn't feel “guilty” for getting an item at no cost. The store is reimbursed the face value of the coupon PLUS 8 cents.

      • Tiffany

It depends on the cashier and their mood unfortuatnatly. Every store seems to have their own policy they enforce based on the district managers interpretation of the corporate policy. My bi lo doubles ALL coupons (manufacturer coupons from competitors even) and let me us them on B1G1. The computer does it automatically up to 10, and the cashier doesn't even have to do anything other than scan. Our computer system here is awesome and has always worked perfectly on all these deals for me.

If they don't double automatically at your store, politely ask them to check why, usually the cashier can manually put it in with the manager's knowledge and will process the rest of your order using those guidelines. Make sure you are super polite.

    • Artlady8

Yes, they double coupons up to .55. I found yesterday that Natura Gold ( like Splenda) the large box was on close out – %50 off and then realized that we also got a coupon 11/7 that corelates with that – I found the coupon after, but hopefully someone else can make the double play on this!

    • Longcarol759@gmail.com

Can't find the Swiss Miss coupon in the ss10/3. Can anyone help me find it somewhere else? I use the Charlotte Observer Thanks

      • jennr

I use the Observer too and didn't see it in my SS 10/3. However it was in the 11/14 SS this week, 50c/2.

    • The Swiss Miss coupon was not in the Greenville News.

BUT, the Pillsbury Brownie mix coupon from the Greenville News' RP 11/7 is for .40 cents off ONE. So .80 cents off each box after doubling. Makes them only .30 cents each!

    • Orchy21

Hey I just wanted everyone to know that if you go to rachaelray.com and go under the “nutrish” tab you can get a sample of dog food or they give you an option for $3.50 off a 6lb bag which makes it $0.99 since it is bogo!!!

      • blessedinsc

I can't find the nutrish tab. Where is it? Thanks!

        • Jennifer

Hi, It is under the pet tab. I found it after I clicked on that tab.

      • sc couponer

        Thank you for this link!

      • Monica

Thank you so much for posting this!! I got mine bags of dog food today!! huge help!! I have two dogs both over 50+ pounds and they love to eat. Plus three kids all 5 and under so all the savings are truly helpful

        • Monica

          ~My bags~ sorry!!

    • DuncanMomof2

I had an awesome trip to BiLo today. My total before coupons was $160.38 and I only paid $50.46 oop. I LOVE BILO (at least this week I do)

    • Raynesmw

My Bi Lo in Kannapolis, NC has some of the best customer service ever!! They are so nice to me every time I go in there, and have written me several rain checks for items they are out of. My Harris Teeter on the other hand, treats me like I am trying to steal money by using my coupons. It makes a big difference, but I can't get the management at HT to quite understand this. Also, I love the fuel perks, I have saved 30 cents a gallon at least 3 times that I know of. A big thanks to Jenny as usual for saving all of us so much money!!

      • I feel the same about both stores. Bi-Lo treats you like a valued customer to the very end of the transaction!

    • Jenn

Does Bi-Lo take competitors coupons and if so do they double those also that are .60 or less?

      • Remmie

Bi-Lo will take an in-date competotors' coupon but will not double it. Customers are limited to three (3) competitirs' per transaction.

        • Remmie

          *competitors'

Wow. Sorry about that. Misspelled both times…

          • Ab

Actually, they are supposed to just take 3 competitor's coupons. Remmie is right on this one.

        • Tiffany

My Bi lo will take competitor's coupons if they are manufacturer and the computer AUTOMATICALLY doubles up to 10 in one transaction. the 3 per order limit depends on the cashier, so if she doesn't limit me to 3 per order, i do 10 in one order and then start a new order so I can double 10 more.

      • Monica

they do take competitors coupons and double up to .60 cents.

    • Guest

Does anyone know where I can find the new price lock deals and coupon matchups online? I tried to get them together at the store and then go home and search for the coupons to match, but I am not as good at getting lists together :) Thanks!

    • Lauren

      Thanks for the great deals!

    • Bacarter2009

Hey guys. At the Bi-Lo I shop at I found a $1.00 off smart source coupon dispenser located right below the Baileys coffee creamer. Right now the are on sale for 3 for $5. After the coupon they are 0.66 cents a piece.

    • Emma

yesterday I had a great time in Bilos in Conway SC. they have great cashiers. they wanted to make sure I got my turkey. Bless their hearts. they asked everyone I think.

befor my store savings and coupons my total was at 298.00

I saved a total of 182.00. it was so nice to go in and get what I needed and I bought other things that Ididn't have coupons for. so I feel like I did great. the lasy behind me asked. how much I had saved and I told her. she asked how did I do it and all I could say was with Mrs Jenny at SS and Gods help.

tears came to her eyes. she said her sister follows you also and she couldn't beleive that it could be done.

I think she might have gone home to think about doing it herself.

my mother is fighting cancer, my father is a heart patient, my lil baby has seizure and I hae many health problems myself. so I have many appt at MUSC and money is tight and so I have to save where I can and put gas in the car.

wish we could find coupons for gas. but the Bilos fuel works out about once a month for us too.

Mrs Jenny thank you for all you do. May God bless you and your as he has blessed me and mine.

    • laney c

is anyone else have problems with the stayfree coupon printing? i haven't printed a coupon in several months and it still says that i've already printed the coupon

      • momto2boys

It says that when there are no more prints available for that particular coupon. It doesn't necessarily mean that you have printed it, just that the coupon is no longer available.

        • laney c

          okay, thank you very much!

    • Jenn

I just got home from my Bi-Lo (Augusta, GA – Columbia Rd) and they have the La Croix sparkling water 12 packs for $1.99. There is $1.25 coupon from one of the coupon printing websites, I’m thinking it was coupons.com. So, you can get a 12 pack for $.74! Some of the 12 packs are bonus packs with 3 extra cans! I figured I would try it out so I bought the orange and the lime. I think they also had grapefruit flavor too. I just popped open a can of the orange and ummm, well, let’s just say I only paid $.75 for it so it’s not a huge loss. It was okay, but not as ‘orangey’ as I thought it would be. But hey, for those of you that like it, its a SUPER deal!

    • amy

There is a blinkie for the Hungry Jack Potatoes, save $1/2 boxes. It works on the bogo ones on sale.

    • Lisa

Great time shopping at Bilo this morning!! First, my favorite deal… the welchs essentials juice is on sale b1g1, so 1.75 apiece. On some of the bottles are little green tags attached for $1 off 1. So, I got Welchs for .75 each!! Yay! (my lil one drinks lots of juice.) And I prolly missed it here, but was nicely surprised to find pepper rings for free. The clearance cart had some Masterpiece marinade, with Bilo qs and my manu. q, I got paid .02 for it. :) And to top it off, my cashier helped me figure out how to get 2 turkeys with my purchases. She had to figure up 2 separate transactions. I'm lovin Bilo!!

    • Msboxer25

I have a question about using the coupons that are for example….. save $1 on four. If lets say soup is b1g1 and I have a coupon for $1 off four, how many coupons can I use?

      • momto2boys

1 coupon per 4 cans of soup, 2 coupons on 8 etc etc….

    • Fgavent

Don't forget .55 (doubles to 1.10) coupon off Eagle Brand milk in 11/7.

    • Amy

Okay, so here is my Bilo trip today… I planned to use my raincheck to get 6 of the 4C parmesian cheese. They were B1G1 @3.99 a few weeks ago, and I had 6 of the $2 coupons, which would make them all free. However, they were on sale for $2.99, so the girl was going to take off $1.50 each. Even better for my coupons; it would take off $3.00 from my other items. But the girl took off $12.00 total instead of $9.00 total, giving me an extra $3 before she even knew I had coupons. I pointed it out to her, but she said it was correct. After all coupons, my total was negative $1.79, and I said I would get some gum, but again, I said the $12 should be only $9 off. She called another girl and they both looked at it and agreed that the $12 was correct. So I said, it's in my benefit, but I hope you don't get into trouble. She said, no, you just did really well today. LOL. I ended up paying 91 cents for 6- 4C parmesian cheese, a Cottonelle wipes, 2 Swiss Miss hot cocoa, 1 SH creamer, 2- 15 oz Country Crock margarines, and 2 packs of Mentos gum. I was pretty happy, but still hoping the cashier doesn't get in trouble.

      • momto2boys

I once had a cashier scan all my coupons and then take the peelies off the eggo waffles and scan them too, so he used two MQ on the eggos. I told him that I already had coupons for them and he insisted on scanning them too. Then he used a couple of catalinas that printed also…I told him that I didn't think he was supposed to do that but he did it anyway! I did really well that day at bi-lo ;)

    • monica

It might be because I'm new to this site, I haven't seen anyone mention it before. But the Bi-lo I use in Summerville Sc also gives you a bag credit. If you bring in your own re-usable shopping bags they take .05 off for each bag they use off your grocery bill. But sometimes you have to ask before hand, but I'm in my Bi-lo so much I use the same cashier :-). Just a fyi for everyone. It does add up over time.

      • Another FYI about Bi-Lo: If you do the survey that is noted on you receipt, you will be able to print a coupon for a free SH item. Right now the freebie is Wonton Strips. If you do the survey after each trip, you will always have a coupon for a free item.

      • Mommy2hayden2006

I was notified by my BiLo that they are no longer given the .05 bag credit. :( I really enjoyed that b/c it did add up. Don't know why they stopped, it saves them money b/c it's less bags they have to buy when we use out own. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

    • Janieflet

is there a bi lo in alabama? if not does another grocery honor them?

      • Athomas2

There is not. I live in Henagar, AL and use the Bi-Lo in Trenton. It's very much worth the 30 minute drive!

    • Paige

Got a great gift for my daughter today at Bi-lo. They had Polly Pocket little purse looking sets for 12.99 B1G1 which made them 6.50. I had gone to K-mart before to see what the price was there if it was actually a good deal and they sold for 10.99.

Also, I saw the Taster's Choice sticks (6 or 7 count) for $1.00. I don't remember if it was Price lock or not but when I got the decaf ones and opened them, there was a $1 off coupon inside, making my next ones free for as long as I buy them! Yay! I am the only one who drinks coffee so it works great for me!

    • Hrelrod

Jenny thank you so much for all you do!
My Bilo trip today was last min, but beyond wonderful!
33 items: 4 boxes of eggos, 6 bags of pancake mix, 10 boxes of Pizza rolls, 2 cans of carpet fresh, 2 packs of rolls, 6 packages of butter, 1 dozen eggs1 pack of plates, and one 15 lb turkey.

      Total before savings $97.16
      Bonus card savings $47.77
      Coupons saving 14.70

Total out of pocket: 36.19-or $1.09 per item
Yep- that is $1.09 for an entire 15 lb turkey
