In this past Sunday's paper they offered .10 fuel perks for buying a ham. I would wait until the weekend to see if it is offered again.

      • noteworthymom

My local ad (Aiken) has that deal on the front page for the whole week, at least that is what came up online. I think I'm going to pick mine up on Friday.

        • Melissa

My in the paper ad is advertising this for the entire sale week – I am in Hendersonville NC

    • Mandy

I think this is the last week of the current 8 week price lock….anyone know for sure?

      • Becky

It sure is…it ends on the 30th

We have Harris T, BiLo, Food Lion, and Super Walmart. Does anyone know the best deal this week for ground beef? I went crazy & bought a bunch of chicken at FL. (some was rain check) Missed the $2.49/LB for ground beef, so now in need of it. (Small freezer.) Thanks, in advance, for anyone who can help out.

      • Brooke82

I always buy thr big 5 lb roll at Bi-Lo for $10 and seperate it with my foodsaver and freeze it all. Sam's has really good prices on ground beef and it is always really fresh.

    • nolandi

has anyone been able to find the 48oz Pompeian OlivExtra Olive Oil at their store on sale? In the past they had this item on sale and I went to 2 stores with no luck Thanks

      • heygreene

I couldn't find ANY Pompeian on sale… did you ever find any? I'm in the Greenville SC area.

About a month ago I signed up for the Blue Bunny newsletter and they emailed me a $1 off q for any 1.75 QT or Frozen Ice Cream Novelty (there's a picture of the Champ Cones on the q). I just printed the coupon twice from the email I saved and it doesn't expire until 4/30/10. I don't know if they're still doing this, but it wouldn't hurt to try if you want a good on these cones.=)

      • elisa

        Oops, I meant “a good deal.” =)

Food Lion has Blue Bunny on sale for $2/5 starting today. I plan to buy 3 1.75 quarts for $1.50 each.

      • Suemh

Thanks for the post. You reminded me that I got that email too.

      • ItsACouponThing

Elisa, when they did this, Food Lion was having a sale on Blue Bunny for $1.88! You could actually buy it for 88 cents! In fact, it flew off the shelves so quickly, it was an easy rain check pick-up! Then you go back in the store a couple days later, when they have a new delivery, and buy it. I was able to do this, and got a rain check for four more! (Gotta love rain checks!)

      • jennifr1966

When they first put this out, Food Lion had Blue Bunny on sale for $1.88, so people were getting it for 88 cents per carton! I got lucky, because they were out, so I got a “limit of 4” rain check! On top of which, two days later they replenished it, so I got 4 at that time, too! My husband is crazy about ice cream, and while he's been recovering from surgery, that's been a number one craving for him. Believe it or not, he's gone through all 8, but with the $1 off coupons and the $2.50 specials, we're still getting them at $1.50 each. (By the way, when you go to print it, you can change the number of prints before clicking enter! Did you notice that? So I was able to print 4 at one time.)

Bi-Lo has $5.oo Instant Savings wyb any 5 Kellogg's cereal,10 oz. or larger. Can I use coupons with this?

      • Denise

Yes, you can use manufacturer's coupons with this promotion. Combine this promotion with the “milk catalina” that is currently in effect. If you buy five cereals 12 oz or larger, you will receive a catalina for 2 free gallons of milk.

      • Tiffany

Our Food Lion has a blinki for 70 cents off select Kelloggs cereals. This will double at Bilo. I haven't seen the add so it may or may not work, but would be a great deal if it does.

    • lorihatcher

I was SO disappointed today. . . I did my homework, printed my shopping list, and gathered my coupons. I headed out to BiLo only to find that almost nothing on my list was actually on sale! I checked the flyer, and sure enough, the items weren't listed in the flyer either. Help! Occassionally that would happen at BiLo with one item, but this whole shopping trip was a bust! Specifically, then didn't have Aussie shampoo on sale as was listed on SS, nor was the Dixie Crystals 4 lb. bag of sugar or the French's Mustard. Also unavailable was the Keebler Cheesecake Middles. The warning — be sure to check your local ad and shelf prices before buying. If I hadn't, I would have gotten a MAJOR SHOCK!! Anybody else have trouble this week w/ Bilo?

      • noteworthymom

Just a suggestion to save frustration. If you're like me and don't get the ad in the paper, check the local ad online before going to the store. That usually helps me out :-)

      • Amy B.

Are you sure you checked the dates of Jenny's list?

      • Andy

I had the same problem this week at BiLo and Publix! It was Operator Error on my part completely–must be all the rain getting into my head. I bought Truvia sweetner to go w/a Purevia q; and got dirty looks and accusatory tone from cashier. Then I realized the tampons I bought were cheaper at Publix. Then at Publix I bought the only type of Oscar Meyer bacon that was not on sale. I overthought the whole process. I am sufficiently annoyed with myself.

      • Meme

I also couldn't find the Golden Dipt tartar sauce at my Bilo even though it was in their sales flyer in the store. There was another item (can't remember what) they didn't seem to stock at all. It is frustrating. You seem to have the same frustrations I have. I spend alot of time just preparing. I have been so tired I can't even go shopping that day and have many times had to take all my coupons out of my little coupon file and start preparing for my next weeks sales. I am getting much better and I am also being much more selective in my purchases. I don't freak out if coupons expire, etc. I am doing inventory right now. Trying to focus on rebates. Still don't have that down pat (organizing and remembering), but all of it is getting much easier.

        • jennifr1966

It's frustrating when that happens, but like someone asked, make sure you're looking at the correct dates and then compare to your flyer. My local Harris Teeter put almost *nothing* on sale as was shown in SS, but just knowing that they'd triple coupons was a big help.
If it helps, I might can help you if you've got a Food Lion. I don't know if this sale ended yesterday, so CALL first, but see if they still have Snuggle on sale for $2.99. If they do, there's a $3/1 coupon in this past Sunday's paper. (I want to say Red Plum.) Even if not, it's such a good deal, even at retail price you'll save a bundle on it. HTH

      • nolandi

Hi lorihatcher remember Bi-lo sales only start on a Thursday

    • leighsc

has anyone checked if the kid's suave shampoo is included in the suave sale?

      • It usually is not. Also the Suave Professionals and Suave for men
are not included as they are all more expensive than the cheap .88 cent sale suave. I think the reg price is 1.19 on the sale kind where as the kids, mens, and Prof. is around $3.00 a bottle reg. Thats not going to .88 cents.

        • jennifr1966

FWIW, I introduced my ladies' products to my daughter when she was young, knowing I can get better deals on it! Like Bath & Body used to sell their own line of kids products. (They might still, IDK.) The kids stuff was always higher, so I got her excited about Cucumber Melon, etc., which I could get at great prices during semi-annual sales. Same goes with shampoo, etc. About the only thing I do differently with her is give her Suave deodorant instead of Secret, because they have some beautiful scents and are typically cheaper.

Use zip code 90210. Just did it a couple of hours ago and it worked.

Can someone answer a question for me? I was at Bi-Lo today and they had Gilette deoderant on clearance- I used the $4 of 2 coupon and wanted to use 2 B1G1 coupons for free bodywash but their register wouldn't accept them. My understanding is that the $4 off coupon is for the deoderant the the B1G1 are for the body wash, so they should all work. Am I wrong about this (I'm not good with the B1G1 coupons yet)? The manager didn't know what to tell me, and told me 3 different things before I left- it wasn't a big deal, I just want to know for future reference.

      • Becky

I think you should have been able to use them all, but I had a similar experience yesterday at Food Lion. I bought 6 packs of Kraft cheese, used 3 BOGO coupons and wanted to use a $1/2 but the register wouldn't take it and the cashier wouldn't put it through. I have trouble explaining the BOGO's to the cashiers. It seems to be a difficult concept to grasp! How can we explain it so they will understand?

        • ssh

I don't know, I did try to explain it, putting each coupon with the item it went with, but to no avail- the manager told me that if the register won't take it, she couldn't put it through, but Bi-Lo's register is always rejecting my legitimate coupons (and they usually put them through anyway), so I'm not sure if the coupon was a problem or just their register and she didn't want to put it through since it was B1G1. *sigh* I am about to give up on Bi-Lo- this is the third trip in a row where I've had problems, and each was at a different Bi-Lo!

          • Becky

At my Bi-Lo they almost always have to get a key to take all of my coupons. Seems like the register will only take so many and then they have to turn the key, no matter that they are legitimate. They just don't seem to like me having so many, LOL.

            • homeisthebeachnow

I have this problem w/ my Bi Lo here in Charleston. The cashier actually called it “coupon overload” when they have to get the key out. I give them all of my coupons upfront and so they can be on the look out.

            • Suemh

I think I have heard that their registers are set to accept 20.

            • jennifr1966

Maybe so, but I rarely have more than 5-8 coupons at a time, and yet at 2 different Bi-Los they have refused to double legitimate coupons. One time I actually did have 10 coupons, the manager took them out of my hand and put all in manually. This would have been cheaper at Food Lion, because when it's done manually, they don't double! The next day I took my business to Food Lion. I've been looking at Harris Teeter some lately, too, because I've been surprised at some of their regular prices and finding them to outshine Bi-Lo and have not had a problem with them putting my coupons through (not that we don't still have some cashier problems).

            • ssh

I never use more than 10 or so, usually less- if the cashier or manager is clueless, I am in trouble. I think I will stick with Publix.

        • Amy B.

On a B1G1 coupon at many stores the coupon actually attaches to two items (Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Kmart). So if you tried to use the $1/2 it wouldn't have anything to attach to. That is the technical reason why your coupons wouldn't work. Whether that is appropriate or not is a different story and I always pair B1G1 coupon with a $ off coupon for the item I'm buying.

          • ssh

Ok, I wondered if it wasn't something like that. Thanks.

          • michelle

I had a similar problem at Food lion last week. I purchsed 2 boxes of frosted flakes, used 1/2 q, and I had a q for 1/'fresh fruit when you purchase kellogg's cereal. The register wouldn't take it. The manager said she would over ride it but that I would have needed to buy another box of cereal for it to go through? I told her politely that I have never had this problem before at any other store? The manager wasn't too “up” on her coupon lingo, she said well maybe those stores double coupons? I think she meant “stack”, but either way it didn't make sense. Even Target took my 2/1 razor, and Bogo for buy razor get body wash free. This would be the same priniple, unless I am totally missing something. I tried to explain that the coupon was for the fruit not the cereal…to no avail…my experience told me to just not use my coupons at food lion in the future.

            • jennifr1966

So far I haven't had this problem, but I did have a manager look at a coupon and think I was supposed to send it in myself (it was the Skittles coupon). I wish manufacturers and stores would spend more time communicating on the coupon subject.

      • kelly1369

I have used those at Rite Aid and CVS without a problem! You should have been able to do it – they get reinbursed for the free one!

Greenville, SC Bi-Lo has 2 lb. strawberry for $2.99 and 1 lb strawberry for $1.67 still.

    • Luiza

I have been so frustrated with trying to print coupons from smartsource… even after doing what Jenny says it “cured” her problems. I select all the qs I want, click print; it gives me the moving S signal but it will not print. RP and others always print fine for me. Any suggestions will be very appreciated, thank you all.

    • Amy B.

Wow, not much at all this week! Bi-Lo has been disappointing for the last month or so. The only thing I was thinking about going for was to see if they have the Dark Chocolate Reese's cups since there is a 55¢ coupon that will double from the paper. Don't really NEED those though so I've been waiting for another reason. Guess I'll keep waiting……

      • homeisthebeachnow

I checked at my Bi Lo in Charleston and they don't carry the Dark Chocolate ones:(

        • Amy B.

Darn, thanks for saving me a trip…

        • jennifr1966

Has anyone tried the dark chocolate Reese's cups yet? I was curious what people think of it.

      • Laura

They don't carry them currently at my BiLo either. I used my .55 off Reeses Dark Chocolate coupon at Walmart because they carry them. They are only .50 at my Walmart which gave me .05 overage! Not as good as it could have been if BiLo had them, but still not bad at all!

    • melissa74

The Bi-Lo in Goose Creek, SC has .60 cent coupons on its Land o Frost Deli Shaved Meat (which is on sale this week 2/$5. They also double those coupons so you can get two packages of lunch meat for $2.60.

    • tricia3462

Piggly Wiggly also has DOMINOS sugar on sale this week. 2 for 3.00. If you use 2 50 cent coupons that makes it 1.00 a bag!

    • I wish the Chattanooga paper got all the coupons. Our Red Plum contains ads for ugly old lady shoes, celebrity postage stamps, Obama baby dolls, ADT home security, Full Freedom comfort bras, a Bell and Howell Ultrasonic pest repeller. It all goes in the trash. They go right in the trash.

      • rose

i will not renew the chatt. times when my time comes, i live very north alabama, and am able to get the huntsville paper, its sooo much better!!!

    • DonnaTN

LOL that is true!! That's why I get mine from up north and mid west, they have what Jenny lists!!

    • AngelaDH

I went to BiLo this evening and they apparently (in Ooltewah at least) don't double any coupons that state “Do Not Double”. If you have a doubling policy, don't pick and choose, especially when Publix is less than a mile away and they double manufacturer qs that say “Do Not Double”. Ugh.

    • shari johnson

The Bi-Lo at Friarsgate Plaza Irmo has Argo Baking Powder 12 oz. closed out priced .87. with a .40 coupon doubled it's only 7cents!

FREE – Betty Crocker Pouch potatoes are on sale for $0.80 – print the coupon on http://www.bettycrocker.com for $0.40. Double the coupon and voila – free!
Though they are not on there now, I also have a bunch from past weeks on coupons.com
If you got the box tops coupon book, the coupon is for save $1.00 on two – that makes them $0.30 each!

FOR THOSE USING EBT CARDS I had to learn this the hard way a couple of weeks ago. If you purchase non-food items and food in the same transaction, all your coupons will be taken off the EBT card.

I was out of pocket a lot of cash, which was much needed on the power bill, etc. Publix gladly reimbursed the cash the next day and took the amount off my EBT card. This was very helpful since couponing has helped me to stretch my buying power with the EBT card. The cash is what is hard to come by. I am really focusing on rolling RR's., ECB's, and using the $$ off $$ coupons at Rite Aid. Rite Aids program gives me the cash for future purchases of paper products and toiletries. Also, the rebates are helping stretch our income.

I just thought I would come forward with the information about separating food from detergents and paper products, etc. Even the smallest amount can be a budget breaker. Hope this is helpful to someone.

      • jennifr1966

I'm sorry, Meme, can you explain this a little bit more to me? I seem to be slow getting this. EBT only takes food, right? Are you saying that if you don't separate, and you have non-food coupons, it will take the total price of coupons off of the food items? If so, WOW! I sure hope they never change that!

    • Angel

It will work therfe we are doing it until Easter

    • luiza

Jenny, perhaps you or someone might have a hint on how to print coupons from smartsource. I've set my printer the way you suggested and still cannot print… redplum and others print fine, but smartsource has been a BIG frustration…I missed out on several deals, including the one for cereal at bi-lo due to being unable to print the needed coupon. It gives me the S signal, but does not print. If I try a second time it tells me my coupons have already printed. Help! Anyone else with similar problems? Thanks!

      • Suemh

Do you have Java installed? Has it been updated?

      • Brooke82

Sometimes SS can take a minute or two to print for me. I don't know why though. My coupons always print.

    • Kellie

I am new to all of this. I have a question about coupons that say…if you buy 3 then you receive 1.00 off ect. Do you have to buy 3 of that product to be able to use the coupon, and will stores double those?

      • Suemh

Yes, you have to buy 3 of them. The store would then follow its normal doubling policy. Most stores do not double $1 off coupons. Most Bi-Lo's double up to 60¢, some areas up to 99¢.

    • jennifr1966

Question, reg. Mighty Dog BOGOF & $2/6 coupons: If I present six cans and both coupons, will that cover the $2/6, or would I need 2 more? I'm just thinking about the BOGOF coupons mixed with a $1/1. When it's just 2, you get $1 off 1, and the other free. So, if I buy 6 Mighty Dog cans, wouldn't I get one of them free but still get $2 off order? How many cans, exactly, would I need? Thanks!
