Here are the differences in the coupon inserts you received Sunday 1/31.

Click on the paper near you to see what coupons were actually in the inserts around the Southeast. Check out the differences to really get an idea of what paper is the best to buy. There are variations every week.

A few ways to use these lists:

  1. You see that you did not get a coupon that was released, you can go to online coupon sites and order it.
  2. Print the list for your inserts and keep it with your inserts to quickly know if you have that coupon.
  3. A way to decide what paper is the best paper in your area to buy.

    • Gwen Hood

Help! I am still a bit new to this. Would you elaborate on “You can go to online coupon sites and order it.” Do you mean the manufacturer's site? Ebay?
      Thanks!

      • ArmindaGraham

I've been doing this since November, and I'd still like to know this myself, lol

      • Anonymous

you can go to sites like http://www.couponmaster.com and get coupons there. You have to pay a little fee for them plus shipping and a $.50 administration fee, but you get too pick the ones you want. On this site you have a minimun purchase off $3.00 and you usually have to take 3 of the same coupons. But its a good way to get more of the good coupons and the ones you didnt get in your paper.

Can someone tell me if they know how far north that the Atlanta Journal is in the stores? I know several people from Tennessee that would love to drive down and get the Atlanta paper. We are trying to figure out what the first town would be that would carry it.
      Thanks!

      • ArmindaGraham

Well, I'm not exactly sure how far north it is, but I'm about an hour and a half from the border off 75. We have them here. And I know further north, in Dalton, (also off I-75) they have them. That's only about an hour from TN. Beyond that, I'm not sure. But you could probably call the AJC and ask them how far they deliver north, I'm sure they know who they supply?

        • Lauri

I've just cancelled my subscription to the AJC because they were not sending the coupon inserts at all. I was told they don't include them for anyone who orders by mail. I was also told they don't deliver to any area that would be considered within driving distance of Chattanooga.

I would be more than willing to drive to Dalton, GA to get an AJC. Thanks for the tip…I think I'll try that today.

      • MrsMorgan

I have a friend in Jefferson, GA (maybe an hour outside of Atlanta, on I-85 toward SC). She can't even get the AJC at her grocery store or delivered at home. Check Barnes and Nobles or a news stand, but I'd bet it'd be hard to find.

        • Amy

you have to be really careful about which AJC you pick up, too. we bought two copies in Athens on Sunday and neither one had the Smart Source circular. A copy that I picked up in suburban Atlanta had a Smart Source, but with the regional variations, it was missing the really good coupons :(
That's not always how it goes, but it can be disappointing, especially if you're going to lengths to get the paper.

        • Sybil

I live in Greene County (about an hour from Atlanta) and the AJC isn't sold in our county. :-/ The only paper we are offered is the Athens Banner Herald.

      • Gina

Hi Kelly-My best friend and I are going to start offering a newsletter each week and include the inserts from the AJC. We are stay at home moms just trying to make a little extra money…the package(inserts and newsletter) will be $5 plus shipping-or we are trying to set up a meeting place in Chattanooga so people wouldn't have to pay for shipping. Would this be somthing you and your friends might be interested in? We will give you your first week free and this will be a GREAT week for the coupons…your feedback would be so greatly appreciated. We have been home makers for 13 years so we are a little out of our element with the whole business thing. Hope to hear from you soon. Gina

          Hi Gina,
sorry that I didn't respond earlier, I don't check this e-mail very often. Thanks for your reponse. I actually had a friend who drove down to Cartersville and picked up about 30 copies of the Atlanta paper, because it was such a good week. I am actually having a small group of coupon buddies at my house this Saturday morning. I will ask them if they would be interested…
          Thanks!

    • Jen

Does anyone know what happened to the St. Andrews newsstand (in Columbia)? I went by one week to get my papers, and it was closed :( Any chance that it just moved somewhere else?

      • It closed permanently :( There are some future hopes of getting the papers but it's going to take someone needing a part time job.

    • new2qs

I'm confused…is this for 1/31 or 1/24? Both dates are at the top. Thanks for all you do Jenny!

      • sorry it's just 1/31

        • new2qs

Thank you so much. I don't know how you get all this done! You really do rock :-)

    • Amy

What do the lines in blue and red print mean in each list? For instance, in the list of AJC coupons, the Edy's coupon is highlighted in red. Does this mean that it is only available in SOME AJC's? And how are we to know which ones? The version you get in Athens is so different (last week missing the Smart Source circular altogether in both my copies) from the version you can buy, for instance, in Suwanee. So frustrating – I cannot imagine why the circulars would not be uniform.

      • Donna

Red = Not in this insert
Blue= A Change in Value or a new coupon not in the preview.

        • Amy

          thanks Donna!

    • The “Columbus” listing under Alabama is supposed to be Columbus, GA

      • Ln

Phillip, you rocked Alabama newspapers! Thank you so much!

    • mitchell

I am SO excited about the coupon for one FREE 3.5-6lb bag of Purina dog or cat food (a $13.99 value!!!). We didn't get them here in Atlanta so I went on eBay and paid only $17 plus $4 shipping for 25 copies! Thats over 150 pounds of FREE dog food! They should be here any day now and I'm heading right to Petsmart to cash all 25 in… I already had my friend who works there check stock on the food and she sent me picture of a huge, full shelf of Purina Pro Plus. So excited!

      • Betty

Isn't the coupon FREE for only the 6 oz. size or $3 off the 3.5-6 lb size? There's another q for $5 but I didn't see a FREE q for the bags. Where was that?

    • All that red on the Montgomery insert list. That is why I never have a good coupon unless it's a printable. So disappointing. *sigh* Can you get the Birmingham news in Montgomery and if so, will have the coupons that Birmingham gets?

    • amknighton

I think the Columbus under your Alabama listing is actually the Columbus Ledger Enquirer in Columbus, GA. Also, just to let everyone know, the Atlanta paper has different coupons depending on where you purchase it. My brother bought me an AJC up in Suwannee and I bought one close to downtown on the same day. I compared the coupons and the Suwannee paper had tons more. Same paper and same day. Just saying that you really have to be careful about the AJC. If I purchase it here in Columbus, I get the same coupons as if I bought the local Columbus paper.

    • Ann

I usually get my papers for a dollar on Monday from Krogers. I've been told they will no longerv sell them for a dollar. Anybody know another place in Nashville that sells them Monday. I don't go shopping on Sunday. Thanks

      • Betty

Daily's convenience stores has them for $1. There are usually still some left on Mondays, depending on which one(s) you go to.

    • jarrodbryson

I'm So ANGRY! I purchase 4 or more copies of the AJC here in Athens weekly, and 1/24 we got no SS. I assumed maybe it was a mistake, no harm no foul just $8 down the drain. This last Sunday I saw GREAT Coupons for 1/31 and purchased 6 copies….guess what…No….S…..S…..

I just called and let the AJC know how I felt, emailed them, and called Another Customer Service number…..

I'll purcahse the ABH if I have to, but darnit don't rip me off…

      • Amy

Completely agree…I think it is so wrong for the AJC to omit complete circulars from certain area distributions. The same thing happened to me in Athens last week, and I picked up an copy in Atlanta this week which had the Smart Source. In the future, I will check through the circulars before I shell out for the paper and on principle, won't buy a paper that doesn't have the circulars it should have.

        • jarrodbryson

Just talked to AJC, they said that they “ran out of coupons” for the last 2 weeks for the Athens Market and are willing to offer a “Partial” refund.

Goodbye AJC and Hello ABH, at least then I know I get my coupons AND I get get it delivered.

      • Barbie

I have bought the local paper at WalMart on a Sunday to find that none of them had any coupon inserts whatsoever (it was the weekend on NewYear's). I took those papers back and got a refund immediately. ;) Definitely look before you buy. But if you are having them delivered, threaten to cancel and they should offer you some sort of rebate (extend your deliveries for a month free of charge)..

    • gwendolynv

thanks so much for the virginia insert list Debbie. Ive been looking all day for a Virginia list to help my mom out with couponing! (i live in Texas so my inserts were different than hers)

    • tarabj

I wish it weren't switched to google document format, I can't access it on my computer now. :(
