Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

Here are the differences in the coupon inserts you received Sunday 11/6.
Click on the paper near you to see what coupons were actually in the inserts around the Southeast. Check out the differences to really get an idea of what paper is the best to buy.
A few ways to use these lists:

  1. If you see that you did not get a coupon that was released, you can go to online coupon sites and order it.
  2. Print the list for your area and keep it with your inserts to quickly know if you have that coupon.
  3. Use it as a way to decide what paper is the best paper in your area to buy.

A legend for the list:

Black = You got this coupon!
Red = Not in this insert
Blue = A change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.

      Hi Jenny,
Some of us thrifty folks do not use a color printer, only black and white, so the color coding does not show up for us.  Would it be possible to add to the coding, something like:
Black & Regular print = You got this coupon!Red & Strikethrough = Not in this insertBlue & Italics = A change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.
      Thanks.

I don’t always print them out but will save them into a folder by date and look at them when I need them. I try to same on ink and paper and found this to work ok.

        • MappKidsSave

My suggestion would be to change the Blue to a gray and the red to white

You can also copy this and paste it in a word document and then edit it that way, this also allows you to come up with your own code for what you got and what you didn’t. HTH

THE STATE NEWSPAPER IN SOUTH CAROLINA e-mailed me after I contacted them about not getting the inserts and I was advised that THE STATE NEWSPAPER ONLY GUARANTEES DELIVERY OF THE EDITORIAL SECTION.  I CANCELLED MY SUBSCRIPTION. Not only were they not nice on the telephone, but I really got ticked off when I got that e-mail.  In the very top left hand corner of this newspaper, it clearly said $125.00 in coupons. Oh really.

What does the yellow highlighted ones mean?

      • Shannon_inNC

I meant to take that off before I sent it to Jenny – it means the coupon was included and it was the same as on Jenny’s list  (oops)

I got my AJC in Gainesville and I found a great coupon on A23: It is a huge coupon for a free bag of any 12 oz community coffee product! It is up to a $7.99 value and expires 1/13/12.

My Winston-Salem Journal only had a redplum…no Smart Source or Wal Mart ad.

In Tennessee, what is the difference between “The Tennessean” and “The Nashville Tennessean”?  I live in Murfreesboro and get the Tennessean, would that be the regular Tennessean or the Nashville Tennessean?  Thanks to anyone who might know!

Does anyone have spare Ensure coupons you wouldn’t mind sending me.  I am sponsoring a special needs adult this year for Christmas and his doctor has advised him to drink Ensure – he is low income and cannot afford it.  I would love to have some coupons to supplement my purchase for him.  Email me at scmoore04@gmail:disqus .com

For anyone in Atlanta area who got the AJC for 11/6.  I cannot find the Campbell’s Slow Kettle Soup coupon in any of my Smartsource….did anyone else find this?
