Has anyone else noticed that the coupons for GM brands like Pillsbury and Green Giant are getting to be less valuable – in other words, lower values or off of a higher quantity (for instance the GG boxed veggies were 50 cents off 2 last time and now they are 60 cents off 3!)? It’s a real bummer.

      • Tracy

I agree Bridget…Ive not been doing this too long but even before SS I did not like the 1.10 off of 3 or 2. I have always enjoyed getting my coupons doubled and that really eliminates the extra savings. But Iwill take what I can get..happy couponing :-)

      • Traci M.

        Bridget,

Yes I have noticed that too. The manufacturers just want to push their product (i.e. items) and try to make some money at the same time. I’ve also noticed that there are more over .55 coupons (less under .50, so no doubling…..)

        • Michelle

I see what you’re saying, but I don’t really understand that as far as the manufacturers are concerned, since it’s the grocery store paying the doubled price, not the mfg.

          • Traci M.

            Michelle,

Megan said it better than I did…see her reply below :). Bottom line is that companies (both manufacturer and grocery chains) exist to make money……….I just wish the economy wasn’t that bad so that everyone makes money and we can still get great deals !!! Happy couponing !!!!

      • Annamarie

I have but I use them on a sale at a store that will double or possibly a triple, and then at least you are getting twice as many and when the sales are good its worth stocking up on them.

      • Megan

I have also noticed this. For now the online ones are still pretty good (as long as the stores don’t supress the doubling).

While I’d like to complain, I do understand that companies exist to make money, not to give us good deals. If a company no longer makes money, they will cease to exist. Do you think General Mills, Kellogs, Campbells, K-C or P&G is going to aid in their own destruction? We do have to remember that companies (grocers and food producers alike) are hurting from the recession too. They are on to us. As more people use coupons and combine sales, grocers and companies are making less money off the products they make/sell and as a result, are lowering the value of their coupons. Also, as people utilize more internet printables, the budget for paper coupons shrinks.

While I fully enjoy my free/almost free items, I fully expect coupons/policies to change in the future making these instances much less common. Companies simply can’t survive by giving products away.

(And no, I do not work for a grocer or producer.)

Sorry to ramble. I am upset too, but I also see the other side.

        • let’s not forget packaging is smaller. I have nticed this year allot
of trimmings in products. So less coupon value and less product

    • Amy

Perhaps I am fortunate at this point that the only 2 grocers around me who DO double will double up to 99 cents. It can make some of my lower cents off coupons much more valuable and therefore I am much more likely to use the coupon and buy the product.

Hopefully Bi-Lo and HT in my area will not impose new double limits or else I am $crewed!! :(

    • CouponNERD

Well, I just called to reserve 2 copies of the Charlotte newspaper for this Sunday.
Coupons are looking pretty good overall.

    • Nise

I am upset with the pringle coupon you have to buy4 to get $1.00 off that is not good most stores that do doubling pringles are $1.50 and up what a rip off

      • Rose

Yep, i figured i would just throw that pringle Q away, and not buy any! too bad

    • Sharon in SC

OH MY, Im still not caught up on the last 2 weeks, LOL….

My binder is going to be exploding!!!! Lovin it…

Thanks to everyone who helps on this site, just FANTASTIC!!!!

    • chels

I don’t put it past jenny to help us find wonderful deals with the coupons in the upcoming weeks to get us all the best deal possible! I had considered getting a second job then discovered this site and I have more extra money and no 2nd job! Thanks for everyone that makes it possible for us to save extra money week after week!

    • seacoastmom

Does anyone in the Summerville, SC area know where to get an Atlanta Paper? Looks like some decent coupons this week but probably not all will appear in the P&C!

    • Marcia

BI-Lo will be offering up to $4 off next purchase if you buy 6 Pillsbury Refrigerated items starting 10/5 – 11/1. All Pillsbury items on one purchase. This is according to the instant print coupon I got last week. This may help with the change in values.

    • Veronica

My Nashville Tennesseean only had the regular Smart Source insert and nothing else. I was very disappointed. That’s unusual for such a large paper.

      • Susan

I live in Nashville and got both the SS and RP. No general mills insert though. Maybe you got a bad paper – look for the RP before you toss it. It might be hidden away. I got a paper last week without a RP too – a real bummer!

    • kari

My redplum is missing lot of the coupons that were listed to be in here today…chez its, sudafed. Anyone else having this problem?

      • Amy

The Greenville News (greenville, SC) didn’t have the sunshine cheez-its either.

        • Nise

When I buy my newspapers I always view the coupons in the store because the people who put the paper together always leave out stuff and then i jsut take out the cioupons and give the paper away because i dont need all that extra paper

    • Sharie

My RP coupons didn’t even have 1/4 of what is listed here. Can RP be different per region like SS?? I get the Beaufort Gazette and they just recently started to add RP. Sometimes I get the Post and Currier (Charleston paper) so I can get SS, RP and PG when they come out. Now I know the SS is slightly different between the two papers. Is RP too? Thanks for any info anyone can give!!

      Sharie

    • Christina M.

Has anyone seen the $3 off Snuggles coupons?? Where can I get it?? In my local Newspaper the Salinas Californian We don’t get most of the coupons.

      Christina
