Has anyone gotten this before?  Is it worth it?

      • Spi_cy13

I’ve had my membership since February 2012 (free 1 yr. subscription). It’s worth it to me.

      •  I got a membership for free earlier in Feb. as well and we’ve definitely used at least 20 of the coupons, a few each month.  For me it’s worth it to set a calendar reminder to cancel and enjoy the extra offers.

    • Lisfree

while this is great i’m not giving them a credit card for a “free” item. i doubt i’ll remember next  year to cancel the service.

    • Spi_cy13

I currently have a free subscription that expires in February. Can I renew now (to where it kicks in after my current subscription ends)?

      • Valerie

I would like to know this as well…

    • Beth

If it is free then why do we have to put credit card info in?

      • cathy

iT SAID SO THEY COULD AUTOMATICALLY RENEW IT ON YOUR CREDIT CARD AFTER A YEAR

    • Bette

Help!  I signed up.  Gave my credit card info and was charged the $30.  That is not FREE membership.  I would NEVER have signed up right now since I don’t have the money.  Now what am I suppose to do?  I wrote them and said I signed up becuz I thought it was FREE but now I guess I just have to wait to see if they will honor their ad, cancel my subscription or make me pay.  I am not happy!

      • becky

I looked on the page and it said nonrefundable if u cancelled, but since they are running a promotion i think they should honor it, Good luck.,i did the same thing in the past.

The exact same thing just happened to me and when I tried to contact them the submit button would not work so I cant tell them to cancel. Please post if you have a solution and I will do the same. Thanks

        • JeffVL

If you didn’t submit it, what is there to cancel?

And thanx Jenny – used a VISA gift card w/ no problems

          • Soberkitty

She meant the submit button to contact them.

            • mik

Thank you that is exactly what I meant!

        • pamgam1

I used the code BIRTHDAY and did receive the $30 off.  On my receipt it said  If you need further assistance, please contact Coupons.com support at support@couponsinc.com or http://www.coupons.com.  HTH

      • JeffVL

Probably because you didn’t enter the PROMO CODE BIRTHDAY

it would have changed the checkout price to $0.00

You don’t hit continue / check out on any site if the total is not correct

If its free why do they want my credit card information, I may not want it next year. If I do they can have info then.

Have no idea then, I just started over and typed in capitals and it worked. Sorry u having a problem..maybe too many people are trying at the same time

      • Ivajean

This happened to me. I exited the website, started over and it worked. I also had to be sure to type BIRTHDAY in all caps…messed up on that the first time.

    • Nicole

Thank Jenny I signed up for my subscription, says I was not charged for a one year subscription. Got my receipt that says that and then got another one that says no charge but billable on October 1 2012 so I have an email in on this. I think it is just a receipt issue since it says a one year subscription on that same receipt and the year is just messed up. Printed out over $70 in coupons though both super savers an normal ones.

      • Ivajean

Double check yours to be sure you didn’t accidently sign up for the first 30 days free, and billable every month (smaller monthly fee, than yearly), because my email shows the renewable year as 2013 There was an options for signing up with monthly payments if you didn’t use the coupon code.

    • Varn9899

Rip-off supposedly FREE was charged $1.00 and there were  NO HIGH VALUE COUPONS AVAILABLE

      • Ivajean

I would assume that the 1.00 will come off in a few days. That is what my credit card acct. notes say…that the 1.00 is under pending transactions, and unless the company actually puts the charge thru, it will drop. Check back on your acct. in a few days.

      • Tigerjennv

Yes- when I looked at my statement, I was charged a dollar too, but then right after it credited a dollar back to my account.

    • hazybuck

      Thanks, Jenny!  Mine was free.

    • hazybuck

      Thanks, Jenny!  Mine was free.

    • hazybuck

PS – I’ve put a reminder on my calendar to cancel the membership in August of 2013, or at least review the spend.

    • Thanks Jenny, worked for me!  I’ve been waiting for a deal like this on the savings club!

    • mik

Bullcrap! I just signed up and was charged the $30 fee, not free. I tried to send them a message telling them to cancel and the “submitt” button would not work so I can’t cancel the transaction. Anyone have any ideas? I would never pay $30 for coupons. Not happy.

      • pamgam1

I typed BIRTHDAY under the code and it subtracted $30.  On my receipt it stated If you need further assistance, please contact Coupons.com support at support@couponsinc.com or http://www.coupons.com.  Maybe you can try use this information to contact them and hopefully they can help you.

      • Ivajean

Did it show the -$30 discount, and the total as 0 before you clicked submit? That is how mine appeared.

        • Jayme

That is how mine appeared.  I’m hoping it didn’t charge me…

I signed up; before I clicked submit, it showed the discount and total due as -0-. I haven’t checked my credit card account yet though. I would like to know from you all that already use this site, how well you like it. Are the coupons different from those you can already download elsewhere?

      •  I have seen a lot of coupons in the grocery store match-ups from this (and exclusively available through this)…I’m hoping the trend continues!

      • Guest

I signed up when it first started, kept it a few months but the selection of additional coupons was slim and not useful for me.  After two months of paying for the program and using zero coupons, I cancelled.  About 2 months ago I saw there were 2 or 3 really good coupons that I wanted, so I signed up again.  But last month there were no coupons I wanted again.  I am hoping some new ones pop up soon that I can use.   In my experience, you don’t get a lot of value if you are paying the monthly fee.  There are some months you will get more value than the membership fee, but some months you get nothing so it seems you just break even if you are paying.  For a free year, yeah its worth it because there is nothing to lose.  The selection is just not that exciting unless you have a dog I guess.  There has been a lot of dog product coupons this past month.

    • Jwtaylor2000

I somehow got charged the $30 also!!!!  No one to contact to cancel or get help.  Not happy here either!!!

      • Soberkitty

Go all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the contact us link.

    • Soberkitty

It’s not taking the code birthday! and even before I try to put the code in its showing $0.00 but it says next to it 1 year membership 1st month free $30 per year after that. So I think I’ll wait and see if they have the bugs worked out tomorrow!

      • Vonni

Make sure you use all caps.  I’d be careful tho, I was signing up and when it still wanted my credit card info, I cancelled.  The print on the bottom said it uses your credit card to AUTOMATICALLY renew your subscription every year!

        • Soberkitty

I know to enter it in all caps! That’s not the problem. There is no amount to apply it too. So it won’t accept the promo. Keeps saying there is nothing to apply it to.

          • Soberkitty

Okay the site is finally cooperating and I signed up this morning. For everyone freaking out about the credit card thing just set a reminder and then cancel it! Don’t get all the drama!

    • Ivajean

I just checked my credit card account and there was a $1.00 charge, twice. But this is the msg. that was on my account:
Because this is a pending transaction, the final amount may change. If a pending transaction appears twice, it doesn’t indicate that your account will be billed twice. The actual amount
-Usually on my bank card, there is a $1 charge when I purchase gas (under pending transactions), then it disappears when the final amt. is charged.  The msg. on my acct. also says that the $1 will disappear if the company doesn’t put the charge thru within five days, so I am assuming that the $1 will disappear in a few days. That is how it works with my bank account too under pending charges.you spent will appear when it posts to your account within five (5) business days

    • Jayme

Just checked my email, not my bank statement yet, and there were several emails from them.  It said there was a 0.00 charge with the code BIRTHDAY and there was a contact link in the email.  If you were charged then I would click on that link from their email…  That really stinks!

    • Teresadawn2011

Their submit button has not worked in about a week. I got a free subscription sometime within the last year and was never charged. There are higher value coupons but I don’t know that I will renew. The reason I have been trying to contact them is because we can no longer enter in a zip code to locate coupons. Sometimes a coupon can only be found under a certain zip code and therefore I am unable to get it. They have also changed their format so it is not as user friendly. Even prior to the submit button not working they didn’t reply to emails. I wanted to know how to cancel because I might miss the email. Instructions are not given and no one replied. The company is legit. I trust they will take care of the problems everyone is having

      • FlGal

If you click on the local coupons tab, there is a spot to enter a zipcode.  Once the local coupons change, click back on the coupons tab and it should have coupons available for that zipcode.

    • Squirrelhater

Yeah,I hate the zip code thing…and the top to bottom, slow motion, not able to jump to a specific page anymore thing….I formerly had no trouble and visited the site often.Since the geniuses have completely screwed it up,I don’t think I’ll be offering my credit card info for a “free” membership.Use your head, people. If they can ruin their own site…..

    • MeMe

Looks like I’ll use my Visa GIFT CARD. There’s only $5 on it, so let’s see if it works.

      • MeMe

Just used my gift card with no problem (so they won’t be able to charge me anything unless I CHOOSE to renew) … everything went A-OK.  Be sure to hit the PROMO CODE button first, type BIRTHDAY in caps and SUBMIT before you enter any other information

I tried to use an American Express $20 card I got for a rebate and it wouldn’t take.  It kept telling me to check my credit card info.  I’m not putting in any of my actual credit cards because I cannot count on remembering to cancel in a year.

    • Sharwinberry

As an FYI, you should be able to check with your credit card company to see if you can dispute the transaction if you are charged.

    • Corisa

Do you have to call up and cancel or is there an option once you log-in?

    • Ckfourth

Great deal, but I didn’t sign up.  I don’t want to give them my credit card number.  Oh well…..

    • Becky

I just signed up and used my Olay rebate card from a few weeks ago (it only has a balance of $5 left). Worked great! However I don’t think these coupons are that exciting. I only printed one of them (for the Brawny)

    • Lyn

I was never given the option to enter a promo code!  I incorrectly assumed that I would have a screen or field to enter the BIRTHDAY code because the screen actually said “less is you have a promo code!” , but no.  There never was one.  Stupid me gave my CC number, clicked through and then got congratulated for signing up for a year.  Not happy.

      • Mandini2577

I did and saw the same things as you. After I entered in my CC# it automatically placed the order. I thought you would at least be directed to a screen where you could see your order to make sure everything was correct before it placed it and the box to apply the BIRTHDAY code would be there too. Now I can’t find a number to call to fix the problem, or even the number I would call in the future to cancel the renewal. Every number I find is for printing issues. Did you find anyway to get this fixed? Not at all happy either! And I’m afraid I may not see my money back either.

    • Carolyn Hicks

Promo code didn’t work.  Said it was not valid.

    • Flaminmom

I was going to take advantage of this offer until I realized that it would include an auto renewal so I closed it out without completing it and then received an email welcoming me .  I have notified them that I did not complete the transaction because I do not agree to the auto renewal.  What a SCAM!

    • I signed-up last night and the promo code worked fine. I had to click on a little link that said “Promo Code” before the box popped-up for me to enter it, but then it worked fine. I don’t recall seeing where it said you *had* to go through a renewal to get the first year free, just that they were taking your card info for renewal purposes when that time came around next year. I set myself a reminder to consider cancelling it at the end of August next year, but we’ll see. for now though. I’m looking forward to some exclusive savings =)

    • Patrice

I just signed on with no problem. They also send a reminder notice before the one year free membership. It’s always wise to make notes, though.

    • Andrea2390

Worked for me!  It is worth a try to save money.  With the guaranteed safety of Visa, and the fact that I am an online shopper, I will cancel this in plenty of time before next August, unless I am really happy with the savings.  Thank you!

    • Ciy

I just put the BIRTHDAY code in but it still wants your credit card info even though the balance states $0.00.  I’ve learned from Clark Howard NEVER to give your cc info if something is supposed to be free as they will charge you down the road.  Once they change that policy I will do it until then its NOT WORTH IT!

    • Marge

I’m not thrilled with the “automatic renewal” at all.

    • GetReal!

oh my goodness people!! it is not a SCAM! You can choose to cancel it before you are automatically renewed!

      • Laura

It’s just like amazon prime, netflix, hulu plus, and all other FREE trials, you have to give a cc # to get started then simply cancel before renewal date to avoid being charged at the end of the free trial. No big deal

      Hi all,

I am the Product Marketing Manager for the Coupons.com Savings Club. First of all, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience regarding the usage of the promo code BIRTHDAY.

The code seems to be working correctly for the majority of users. However, if you were charged using this code, please email Support@couponsinc.com with “Savings Club Birthday” in the subject line and we’ll get you to the front of the line when we get back into the office on Tuesday morning and will take care of you.

Please note that the code is case sensitive: BIRTHDAY and that you need to click the APPLY button to make it effective.

      Thank you.

    • Ivy111380

Thanks Jenny for this info! I’ve been waiting for a good deal on this! :-)

    • Emily Amberson

I’m not having luck with it. I’m wondering if it is because I’ve never received the 1-month free trial. I’ve tried several times from different computers/browers and I get this message every time ”
The code you have entered requires the purchase of additional products that have not been added to your order.
” When I add the 1 year subscription to the cart the total is $0. Any ideas?

      • Emily Amberson

Nevermind! Finally got it to work. I think it was redirecting to a different part of the site because I was having issues with my login.

    • Acmurphy

Thank you so much for letting us know about this!  Just signed up and put a notice on my calendar a year from now to cancel if I’d like!  Yay for higher value coupons!

    • Miss_afb

okay i went to coupons.com clicked the one year free membership but do not get option to enter promo code.  ehat am i doing wrong?

    • Mandini2577

Apparently there has been a lot of people who had issues being charged after signing up for the savings club, myself included. After sending a few emails and posting to their facebook wall I was able to get my CC refunded. The rep that emailed me said that some peoples browser did not support the box where the promo code had to be entered and also that if birthday wasn’t typed into it in capital letters then it didn’t accept it. I guess my PC was one whose browser didn’t support the promo box, because I never saw one. They did refund my money and I still have the free membership for 1 year which I will need to cancel before they renew it if I don’t want it. Hope this helps someone if you had issues too.

      • Shawna

How did you email them? Everything that I click on is about reporting printing problems
