      • Erin Linthicum

The one I got was a Target coupon.

    • Peg

Wish CVS would post real prices on all products in Sunday paper and on this site (the on-line price is not helpful). It is really difficult to make plans on specific products to purchase before going to the store, and who has time to make a trip just to take note of product cost and then make a second trip to purchase. Actually I have stopped shopping at CVS on a consistent basis because I am unable to create a shopping plan. How do others move forward without knowing actual prices. Please listen to this request CVS

      • VP22

It would make things a bit easier but the problem with that is that a lot of prices (milk can run from $2.49-$3.99 or greater depending on where you live) as well as some deals vary by region so even if she posted her regions prices it still would not guarantee that we would get the same.

        • mlw1ofakind

When I figure my deals I always list the highest known price for the item (for that store.) If I get to the register and it is cheaper, I always have a “filler” item in mind to make sure I don’t go below the sale’s tax (here the register rejects coupons that eat the sales tax). It just makes the deals sweeter! Example of filler item would be the 0.99 Dawn.

          • VP22

I agree. Plus, after you have shopped awhile, you kinda start having a pretty good idea about a lot of the prices in your area.

      • crownstar

I had this same problem when I initally started shopping at CVS. Unfortunately, some leg work is required – lucky for me CVS is near by so I’d go in maybe 2x weekly to scan my card for coupons and I carried a small notebook (index card size) and note the price. What I found is that CVS for the most part has the same items on sale regularly. I’d then come back home and plan out my shopping trip…At one point I even knew how many of a product was in stock at the store. so I knew if it was something I really wanted to get up early. It worked! after a while I had a notebook with common items I’d purchase and knew the prices. I even know the shipment date for my store (Tue). It might seem extreme, but when I’m getting a great deal on something with a large family its worth the effort – at least for me it is!

      • Jodi

I agree that it would be easier, but the “regular” prices vary from store to store. I have three stores all pretty close to my house and their prices vary by about $0.20 to $0.50 on the same items. Sale prices in the ad are always the same at every store, but I just try to pay attention to the regular prices on other stuff and shop at the cheapest one!

      • I consider myself a CVS pro and I don’t even go in with a plan any more. I just have a table with pre coupon prices (for $/$$ coupons), post coupon prices (to know how many ECBs I need), and ECBs produced. When I get there, I get everything that’s in stock (and rainchecks for the rest) and take a seat at the pharmacy while I group transactions. It’s really a lot easier for me that way (even with two toddlers). HTH!

Plans are useless at the lone CVS here. They never have everything I want.

    • Jeffy Walker

Can I trade for the 3/1 Loreal???

    • Jeffy Walker

Say all my items come up to 192.44 and i use a 20%

      192.44*.20 or 20% = 38.48 ? Correct?

      Then i use 39 or 40 in EBC’s will the 20% reduce?

      • VP22

As long as none of those items are on sale then you are correct. ECB’s should not affect % off unless they are beauty club, green bag tag, quarterly or forced prints.

        • Jeffy Walker

Thanks!! What should i do if it starts reducing..

          • VP22

Are any of the ecb’s you are using beauty, green bag, quarterly or forced? If so, it will reduce some depending on what you have. Also, if you using any other CVS coupons, like $/$$ because those will affect your amount off as well. However, if you are not using any cvs $/$$ coupons, just using regular ecb’s to pay and all of your items are non-sale items then you should not have an issue with your % off reducing.

            • Jeffy Walker

I plan on using percent off, regular ebc.. and probelly no MF

            • VP22

Oh, you should have no problem then.

            • Jeffy Walker

Now for this week, I want use one also i am buying L’oreal Face stuff and Burts Bee, Colgate, and P and G deal, can i use it on any of those, i plan on doing one tran., use beaty and money off cosmo and money off total.

            • VP22

P&G and L’Oreal ecb deals are all sale priced so it won’t work on those. Not sure about the other stuff. Don’t remember if it was on sale or not.

            • Jeffy Walker

              Are u also on IHEARTCVS??

            • VP22

              Yes

            • Jeffy Walker

Sally Hansen is B1G1 50% is that sale? Lysol will be 2/5 is that a sale?

            • VP22

Yes and yes. Usually anything where they list the price in the ad is a sale price.

            • Jeffy Walker

Also Huggies, Wisk, Oral B toothbrush, Crest are also part of the sales then?

            • VP22

Are we talking 4/14 ad or 4/7 ad?

            • Jeffy Walker

              4/21, Erica has it up

            • Jeffy Walker

              So if I buy
              1. almay = 14.98
              2 Loreal = 13.49
              3. Physicians Forumla = 7.49
              4. Mabelline = 17.16
              5. Dormosil = 19.99
              6. Colgate = 11.97
              7.Neosprin = 20.70
              ———————————————-
              Total: 105.78
              Now can i use the 20% ???
              If so total after: 21.156 = 21.15 – 10 (2 EBC’s) = 1.15 and tax??

            • VP22

              From the 4/21 ad, all those items will be regular price so your 20% off should work just fine;-}

            • Jeffy Walker

Say i mixed in with those items some sale items, it will still will apply to the non sale right? And I can use regular EBC’s unlimited and it shouldn’t reduce right??

            • VP22

Yes it will still come off of non-sale items and regular ecb’s shouldn’t reduce it.

            • Jeffy Walker

Here is my plan for 4/21:

              1. almay = 14.98
              2 Loreal = 13.49
              3. Physicians Forumla = 7.49
              4. Mabelline = 17.16
              5. Dormosil = 19.99
              6. Colgate = 11.97
              7.Neosprin = 20.70
              ———————————————-
              Total: 105.78
              Now can i use the 20% ???
              If so total after: 21.156 = 21.15 – 10 (2 EBC’s) = 1.15 and tax??

Plus i’ll get 38 back in EBC’s.. So ill use 20 for the remaing after 20%. Then with the 18 i wil be using ill use 18 for these:

              1. Oral B

              2. Palmolive

              3.Crest

              4. Wisk

            • VP22

That week all those items will be regularly priced so your 20% should come off with no problem.

            • Jeffy Walker

Thanks for all the help, if i use a 2/10 toothpaste will it reduce the 20%?

            • VP22

It may but since it is only $2 it should only reduce it by about .40

            • Jeffy Walker

Thank i will not use it. Because i need every cent i can get.. It sucks that u can only use EBC with. Will it reduce with MF Q?

            • VP22

MF Q’s will not reduce it. You should use the $2/$10 as well because even if the 20% reduces a little it will still save you more if you use both. For example, let’s say you spend $10 and you just use a 20% off, your total would be $10 – $2 (which is 20% of $10) = $8. But if you use both the $2/$10 and 20% off your total would be $10 – $2/$10 = $8 – $1.60 (which is 20% of $8) = $6.40. Even though the % reduces, in this case, you still save more overall using both.

            • Jeffy Walker

Will do. You are very helpfull!!! Thanks!!

            • VP22

              You are very welcome.

            • LuvthisStuff

              $2 is higher then $.40

            • Tara Kinman

hey that is 21.15 off of the 105.78 20% off

$105.78-21.15= $84.63, hth. hate for you to go in and it be shocked when you get to check out.

            • Jeffy Walker

How is my math wrong? if you times it by .20 thats what you get.

            • Tara Kinman

yes times it by .20 gives you the percentage off, (21.15) and then you have to subtract that percentage off of the actual balance. (105.78-21.15). say you have $100 and you want 20% off. that is $20 and then you pay the $80.

            • Jeffy Walker

              Thanks for the heads up!!

            • VP22

Your math is correct as far as what 20% totals but what Tara said is right. $21.15 is how much the 20% takes off, not what you pay. What you pay is $105.78 – $21.15 = $84.63 before coupons and ecbs.

            • Jeffy Walker

Lol. I knew thier was a reason why it came down so easy and why i didnt do good in math.

            • VP22

              You had the right idea. Just left out one itty bitty super important part:-}

            • Jeffy Walker

Yeah, I looked at all the coupons i have, cvs and MF, and it comes out cheapter if i use the cvs money off money ones.

            • VP22

Thanks for pointing that out;-} Even though I was reading what was said, I just took for granted that it was understood that the $21.15/20% was what was to be taken off. Overlooked the assumption that the 20% was what was to be paid. That’s why everybody’s input makes a difference.

            • Jeffy Walker

Is my math correct with the 105.78 and the 20%???

            • VP22

              Yes

          • Alisa

Not sure if it’s regional but I’ve noticed I do not receive 20% discount on items that generate ECBs. The cashier will not adjust the price down as they consider the ECB deal as a sale. So I normally watch the keypad screen for final adjustment. If it doesn’t appear as I thought I just void the transaction and regroup.

      • Caroline

Just an fyi the 20% comes off your total after all the other coupons. So in your scenario with the $192.44 and you use the ecb’s the 20% with apply to your end total.

        • VP22

That’s not exactly true. 20% comes off of all regular priced items after cvs coupons and some ecb’s, not all. The only ecb’s that will affect your total are beauty club, green bag, quarterly and forced print. Regular ecb’s will not affect your total unless you give too many and your total goes into the negative.

          • Caroline

I have never seen it work that way and I cashier at cvs, but if that’s what you think then who am I to say anything.

            • VP22

It’s not what I think, it’s what I know. I can only speak from my experience and those of other shoppers I know. I have been shopping there for years. My % off has never been affected by ecb’s unless, like I said earlier, they are beauty club, green bag, quarterly or forced prints.

            • LuvthisStuff

And we all know CVS cashiers know it all…. VP22 is correct. And that just goes to show you need to be trained better. I’m seriously not trying to be hateful but I’m just tired of walking into certain CVS stores with Cashiers who don’t have a clue. EX: I was told the other day that I couldn’t use 2 CVS Store Coupons (same ones) on 2 products bought in same transaction… Really?

            • Caroline

Maybe if you don’t want to be hateful you should keep your mouth shut. By the way I have been trained properly and I don’t give people a hard time about their coupons. I was only commenting because of what I have seen my register do when it comes to the coupons. I guess I shouldn’t have said anything if I knew I was going to be attacked by people.

            • Debbie

And there is the CVS Cashier attitude we all know and love. Not!!!

            • staceyhamrick

It depends on the order you hand your coupons to the cashier. I can’t complain about my CVS though the cashiers are always friendly.

Had a great trip to CVS this morning!

      Transaction 1

      1 newspaper 3.00

      Coupons used…
2 B1G1 Venus -11.99, -11.99 (manager took off max amount)
2 Bic coupons Bic -3.00, -3.00 (these were from a few weeks ago for any Bic razor)
      1 Claritin -7.00
      2 Zyrtec -7.00, -4.00
      20% off from today’s ad -6.40

      Total= 41.62 (tax included)

      Transaction 2
      1 Claritin 19.99

      Coupons used…

      10.00 ECB from Gillette
      3.00 ECB from 1st Claritin

      Total =1.44
      Got back 3.00

      • mary

So your 20% in ad coupon didn’t work on your ECB producing non sale item (Venus/Gillette promo) it appears. Didn’t work for me either, but email one does work for ECB producing non sale items.

        • AEH

I honestly get so confused with the 20% off coupons and what it works for that I don’t even plan for it to take anything off, then if it actually does take something off its a nice surprise at the register!

        • VP22

I could be totally wrong but I think the 20% did work on Venus/Gillette. Everything else she bought was on sale so it would not work on those items. The 4 razors were approximately $32 and 20% of that is $6.40

      • Millie

Unless the Zyrtec or Claritin weren’t on sale, it does look like 20% was taken off the Venus razors. 20% off $31.96 would be about $6.40. Thank you for listing this. I was concerned that in-ad coupon might be different than the ones we receive via email.

    • phonebookqueen

The coupon machine is giving a 2.00 off of colgate and matched with the 1.00 from this weeks paper makes it free.

    • Eden

Just took a trip to CVS and got a $2/$8 deodorant purchase (Perfect because I was going in for Secret Clinical Strength) and a 20% off purchase coupon. I also went in with a B1G1 Venus razor coupon from today’s paper (4/14):

      1 Secret Clinical deodorant: $8.99

      – $2.00 coupon
      2 Venus razors: $6.99 each
      – B1G1 coupon
      – 20% off coupon
      Total spent: $6.08
      Total saved: $18.59!! YAYY!

      • C~~

I did the same today. I got the CVS $2/$8 Coupon for deodorant but I also used a $2/1 Secret Clinical OR Scent Expressions or Outlast Twin Pack in the PG 3/31 insert. Great savings even without the coupon. : )

      • Joy Nunez

I was wondering about the 20% off coupon..do they take the % off before coupons or after?

    • Longdaisy27

I got 4 Venus Olay razors for only $13 oop but each 10.99 but with the 20% off plus 2 bogo’s makes it $13 an u get $10 Ecb back !

      • Anne

Could you possibly break your scenario down, especially how much was taken off with the 20%. I can’t figure out how your total would be $13 oop. Thanks!!!

        • VP22

          I’m just guessing but it seems like if she bought 4 @ $10.99 = $43.96 – $8.79 (20%) – $10.99 (bogo 1) – $10.99 (bogo 2) = $13.19 or something close to that.

          • Anne

Thanks, that makes sense. I guess I was just thinking the 20% always came off after all coupons which would have been only about $4.40. I don’t usually mess with the aggravation of the 20% coupon, but that total comes alot closer to the Ecbs I have to spend without having to spend anything out of pocket. ;)

      • Help please does anyone know

        • Christie

Since coupons have redone, most likely not. We used to be able to but lately these B1G1 Qs beep if u try to use another. So no, sorry.

        • Mary

The fine print on the P&G coupons now prevent stacking of manufacturer coupons as you describe. The new phrase on these coupons and many other manufacturer’s coupons is limit one coupon per purchase of products/quantities stated. Some coupons I have printed recently even have a statement that no other coupon can be used with that coupon as if the other phrasing wasn’t clear enough. Sure, some will debunk what I have just said and tell you they do it all the time and that it works, but aren’t we supposed to use our coupons honestly and correctly? I feel much better about saving money when I have done it honestly! HTH!

      • Tara Kinman

not sure, i would take both use the b1g1 first and then the $3 off and see if it takes it, if nothing else at least you get the b1g1.

      Thank you!

      • LuvthisStuff

        Mine does in Greenville, SC

        • Jeffy Walker

Do they take the ones from the books? You are lucky!

          • LuvthisStuff

            Yes.

            • Jeffy Walker

I tried it. It beeped the cashier put it through, i was looking at my reciept and it says “taxable xxx”, do that mean it added money?

      • mary

Per their corporate coupon policy, No. Christie’s store must be an exception. Your best bet would be to ask at your store. The actual corporate policy says they won’t even take a coupon that has another store’s logo on it, even if it is a manufacturer coupon.

        • LuvthisStuff

I have about 10 stores in my area. And they ALL take Wags & riteaid coupons. Nothing else though…

      • Elle

I work at a CVS in north Carolina and we do not take walgreens or riteaid coupons unless they are the prescription transfer coupons.

So I was all excited about free Colgate this week, but the CVS ad incorrectly matched the MF coupon (optic white) with their sale (max series) when the items don’t match. I feel like they should still owe me free toothpaste for their error!
Has anyone talked to their store to see what they said about the ad? I was going to bring my ad in and see what the manager said, he’s always really nice about couponing.

      • LuvthisStuff

You can get Crest free this week. Actually a money makers on the 2.7 oz ones. It is giving back $3 each in ecbs

        • jewells0607

I saw you posted that earlier but my ad says $3 back on multipacks – did you find a 2.7 oz multipack that gave you the ECB?

          • LuvthisStuff

If you go in your CVS store and look at the 2.7 box. There is a tag under it that says Pay $2.77, get back $2.77 ecb. Limit 2 per card(It’s Not in the add) BUT it is giving back a $3ecb instead. Plus to your post above. My add doesn’t give a MF coupon added with it. The Red machine is giving out $2qs that goes with Col. Maxfresh TP. (That is what is in my add) I don’t see anything about the Optic white… Maybe Regional idk

            • jewells0607

To clarify, the ad says “$2 coupon from coupon center + $1 coupon in most Sunday papers = like getting it for free” and refers to the max fresh, max white, etc. However the Sunday paper coupon is exclusively for optic white so cannot be used with the deal to get it for free as stated in the ad.
              I’ll look for Crest instead!

            • LuvthisStuff

I’m guessing your add is different then my area. Mine just says about the $2 red machine Q. And its on the last page. That’s weird… But I’m glad it still worked for some. 8)
