CVS Logo

This is another crazy week at CVS.  Not really because of the deals, but because of the ads.  It appears that there will be two versions of the ad again this week.  This time however the same deals should be running in all regions, the ads just have different lengths.

-Select locations will receive a week-long 12 page circular

-All other locations will receive an 8 page circular with weekly deals good from Sunday-Tuesday.  You will then receive a one-page circular that features a 20%-off 4-day shopping pass for Wednesday-Sunday.

Since the deals were the same in both ads, I am posting them as if you got the smaller option.  If your area ends up with the 7 day ad, then you go get these deals whenever you want them!!

3-Day Sale — Sunday to Tuesday

My 30 percent off e-mail says it excludes sale items. =(

      • Tinawhedbee

Please read the fine print.  The coupon I received clearly stated that it was not good on sale priced merchandise.

        • SarahR

The coupon is not good on sale items, but not all ECB deal items are on sale.  I purchased some Maybeline Mascara this week and had a 20% off coupon.  The mascara was part of the buy $10/get $3ECBs.  The mascara came up regular price on the receipt, so I got the 20% off.  Some ECB deals are on sale though.  I would take the item and scan it at the red machine.  If it is on sale, it will show on the price checker.
I got a 30% coupon emailed and I am going to use it with the Sally Hansen ECB deal today.  It should work with most of the makeup/cosmetic ECB deals running this week.
Here is how the mascara transaction went:
          2 mascaras, $6.79 each= $13.58
          20% off= – $2.72
$3 off of $10 cosmetics CVS coupon
2/ $1 coupons found on display in store
          received $3 ECB
total after ECBs=2.86 for 2 or 1.43 each

      • Noelle8818

I used to get those every week, and don’t anymore.  :(  My CVS sold newspapers inside, so I would always buy all my papers there so I could get 30% off of my papers since sale items are excluded.  I’m so  bummed I don’t get that coupon anymore!

    • Rosa

if it wasnt for the quartely printing on july 1st i wouldve skipped this week.

You are missing out. I’ve MADE $4 ECB on a $20 purchase with all the crts and plan on Harding back for more.

    • Kristi

If you use Tide, check the red coupon machine. Today I got a $3.00 off a Liquid Tide purchase of $10.00 or more.  If you buy 2, that would make them $4.47 each or even less if you have a manufacturer’s Q.  I also had a $1.00 off CoverGirl, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Oral-B or Crest print out.

    • Hharring86

I am a bit confused. Are the physicians formula skincare and cosmetics part of the gas deal as well as being on sale? If so, I am in heaven! Combining the sales with a $15 off pf skincare and a $3 off $10 cosmetics purchase coupon from the mcm would make for some free makeup and skincare, plus a pretty cheap gas card!! Unfortunatley, it seems to good to be true!

      • Soberkitty

         Yes M’am that they are!

      • Ziqtcj

I got some formula skincare itmes (eye creams) but unfortunately they were not counted towards the gas card as said in the ads. The cashier said that CVS got messed up in this weeks ads. I didn’t try fourmula cosmetics since the $15 off skincare coupon cannot used for cosmetics. I think I may have to call the corporation to find out why.

        • VP22

I used mine towards the gas card deal this past week (6/24-6/30) and it did work on the PF skin care and it did count towards the gas deal. I bought the ones that were not on clearance (believe the blue pkgs are clearanced and purple is reg price plus they are bogo). These were priced $19.99-$21.99. Bought 2 @ $21.99 used $15 cvs PF q and had $21.99 towards gas card.

        • Sheri Homestead

I just left CVS …. I got over $130 PF products for under $20 & I was able to get my Gas Card!! Definitely call !! Also, check the bottom of your receipt – there should be an indicator on the gas card….and I reached the $50 for the Beauty Club – which will give me some ECBS!!

    • Couponrolanda

how in the world will that red machine print the q twice,  “$2 off any Hair Care product, printing at CVS coupon center”  in transaction # 2. If I use another card the  cashiers will not accept it  :(

      • CamiD

I received 2 of those coupons this week.  When you scan your card on different days, it sometimes prints additional copies of certain coupons.

      • VP22

I have been to CVS 4 times this week and each time a new one printed from the red machine

    • Soberkitty

I think I’ll just be doing the 3 day if possible. Maybe I’ll get a gas card out of it at least I’ve got some good Q’s from the red box.

    • Miranda

It has been so long since I received a percentage off coupon at CVS that I can’t remember how it works.  Of course, I want to maximize to amount off.  So, on what amount does it go toward when using man q’s, CVS coupons, ECB’s, ect?

      • Noelle8818

It will go off your entire non-sale items purchase before any other coupon.   I would always use mine to purchase my Sunday paper, and milk and bread since the prices are usually the same or better than grocery store prices.

      • VP22

You can also use it on things that give ECBs but are not on sale. Today I used it on the Revlon spend $10 get $4ECBs. I bought 2 regular priced items that totaled $10.48 ad the 30% q took off $3.14

        • Miranda

I realize it works on nonsale items and even those that will produce ECB’s.  And the Revlon deal was what I was considering.  But let’s say I purchase $10 of Revlon- use the $3/$10 cosmetics q from the coupon machine and revlon manQ’s and this percentage off, am I looking at getting the 30% off the $10? Thanks for the feedback.

          • Miranda

Ahhh…. weusecoupons(dot)com has a post on this under their CVS discussions.  Interesting.

            • VP22

I’d like to read that because sometimes these policies can get confusing.

            • guest

Thanks for the heads up but I can’t find the official responce letter to the inquiry made in 2010. Is there something more current?

            • Miranda

Click on CVS forum and then there is a discussion that states “how to maximize the most out of your % off coupon”‘

          • VP22

It still should. I used the $3/$10, 2 manu q and the 30% and it took off all with no problems

        • Maria

This is true.  You can actually get those Revlon eye shadows virtually free and a MM, if you haven’t received the ECB this week.  My regular eye shadows at my local CVS are $4.99 each.  Buy 2, equals $9.98, this is enough to get the ECB.  Subtract 30% off ($2.99) = $6.99, Subtract $3 off wyb $10 in Cosmetics CRT = $3.99.  Subtract, Revlon (2) $2 MQs = $.01 MM, plus the $4 ECBs in return.

      • VP22

You can also use it on things that give ECBs but are not on sale. Today I used it on the Revlon spend $10 get $4ECBs. I bought 2 regular priced items that totaled $10.48 ad the 30% q took off $3.14

has anyone ever bought $4 off $20 coupons for cvs

      • Mcleodsc

did the coupon beep that it was not for your card? Is this a newspaper coupon? magazine coupon?

        • Madisonanita

It didn’t beep. Went through as any other coupon. I don’t know how it works, but if didn’t have to be connected to my card.

      • Madisonanita

Yes. The one time that I did it, they sent me an email and I printed them out myself. Everyone of them worked. AWESOME deals!! hth

      • Stacyannw

i did last week and it worked great they emailed me the links for the coupons after i paid and i could print them off, well worth 1.80 that i paid

    • Rmandykool18

How will the pf make up track? Everybody says the price after the $7 sale is what tracks but a cashier at my store said the full price will track… Help please!

      • Stacyannw

i think that the price after the $7.00 off with track, since i think that the $7 will come off like a sale price and not like a coupon.  So if something is 9.99 regular it will ring up 2.99

      • Guest

I just got some PF tonight and it rang up under the new sale for tomorrow- it rings at the sale price after the $7 off, so my blush rang up as 5.99 (originally 12.99) and the 5.99 is what counted towards the gas card.. hth

SCORE !!!! MY SIXTH TIME TO CVS JUST TO GET THE 2OFF SHAMPOO SQ FROM THE RED BOX OH SO HAPPY :)  (SAME CARD) THIS WILL WORK WELL WITH THE 3 DAY SALE!

      • Bryarsmom

Cool…here in the Atlanta area we recently got ALL our Pantene shampoos & conditioners FREE using the man Q’s @ Publix. They had $5/30 store Q’s we stacked. Sweet :)

i keep getting $3 off nexxus coupons from the redbox.  my daughter and i will be traveling this summer so they work great with the travel size shampoo, cond, hairspray, etc…  cvs has been sooo generous with the redbox coupons lately!

      • Canes1999

it says EXCLUDES travel size on them

        • jusjessl

          no it doesn’t

        • jusjessl

it says excludes trial size.  trial size is usually a very small tube or container.  these are travel size to fit in with airline regulations for carry-on items.  thanks for policing me in caps tho – happy couponing :)

        • Kyle

The coupon for $3 off Nexxus states: “excludes trial size”. So the regular travel size would count, because the trial size is usually a one time use amount.

      • mine says excludes TRIAL size…is there a difference between trial and travel? Is it marked travel on the bottle? Also could I use the $2 shampoo SQ from the redbox? Great deal even on the reg size bottles if I can use both Q’s!

        • jusjessl

i think there is a difference between trial and travel sizes. i’ve recieved many trial sized items in the past, good for about 1 use.  i used my coupons on travel sized items, and the went thru without a beep.

          • jusjessl

and yes kelley, you can use both :)

          • mrn1

So tell me, does CVS sell two different smaller sized bottles…one travel sized and one trial sized?  These terms are one in the same in stores.  There were some of the Nexxus coupons that printed out that didn’t say” excludes trial”.  One of my three didn’t say “excludes trial” and I bought the $3.29 travel sized bottle without problems.  I didn’t use the other two coupons that say “excludes trial” because I know that would not be correct use of my coupons.

      • Mcleodsc

I did not realize that travel size and trial size were different. I have several of the coupons and will try to use them on the travel size today.

      • Kim Coupons1

I saved all mine from the week and used them in one transaction for a free $15.99 bottle of nexxus and used the $2 shampoo q so it was a money maker. No beeps at the register and the manager said it was ok to use all on one product.

        • Days1997

Huh!!?? You cant use them ALL on one product…I dont think that is correct…

    • Canes1999

wish i could scan mine and post, say $3 off any Nexxus products(excludes trial size) up to $3 value

      • jusjessl

just responded to you that i didn’t buy trial size, i bought travel size.  try yours, i’m sure you’ll be happy :)

        • Tina

lol. All the drama had to go check mine. I have 5 of Nexxus –excludes trial.  So travel is good. Thanks I had no clue what to do with 5 q’s

          • guest

travel and trial mean the same thing..

          • guest

travel and trial mean the same thing..

      • Ladymoon0121

Mine would not take it, the manager state trial and travel size are the same thing. I was not even going to get it for free but it was a no go. glad you were able to.

        • mrn1

they are the same thing.  There are signs above the 2 sections in the CVS I shop that say “Trial” sizes 99 cents and up.  This is also the “travel” section.  There is no difference.

    • tina

if I buy something b1 get 50% off and have a b1g1 q how do you explain to the cashier to take the full price item off someone please help thanks

      • Kingofbritton

Print a copy of the CVS coupon policy and show them the section about CVS sale of BOGO plus using BOGO coupon.  Policy states you get both free.  By that rationale you should only pay 50% of one item if CVS sale is BOGO 50% plus using a BOGO coupon.  I did it last week.  Cashier didn’t like it but that’s the CVS policy.

        • Tina

          Thanks. That helps

      • Mcleodsc

the stores here refuse to take off the full amount so ymmv depending on the cashier

Not coupon friendly they act as if the store was
Not getting reemburst when actually they are
Making money since they get paid a handling fee
I’ll remember to tell then that next time they make
Me look bad for using coupons

      • Cathy

I almost always get rude cashiers at CVS. I have emailed CVS corporate about it but have never received a response.

        • Osoteddyoso

im surprised all cvs are very friendly with me, they even take a expired coupons sometimes from a day or two.but dont like to abuse of that either once a year. what im trying to say is that they are very friendly!!

      • ireneY

It’s their own ignorance. Some people think it’s beneath them to deal with coupons. Don’t let them deter you from being a smart shopper. It’s your money, not theirs!

Question about loading P&G coupons to CVS card. If you load a Q to your card, is that like having another Q in addition to the paper Q’s?

      • Laura R

Where do you go to load the P & G coupons onto your CVS card? Also, from past experiences with other stores besides CVS, the e-coupon loaded to your card and a paper coupon cannot be used together for one/the same item. If two items were purchased and you had one ecoupon and one paper, then that’d work. I’d assume that’s how CVS would work, too.

How do you load coupons to your CVS card?

      • Maria

CVS coupons loaded to you cards are usually the offers emailed to you, with the option to load to your card.  I don’t think you can load other MQs to your card unless a CVS email has promoted it to you.  Don’t get CVS confused with the RiteAid Load2Card options.  hth :)

        • Ladyb

At the P&G site there is an option to load coupon to your store cards. No coupons are available now, but I was hoping that there would be tomorrow in conjunction with the inserts.

          • Maria

Just came from the site.  That’s very interesting that you can do that with P&G.  The only thing I don’t like is that you can only download 1 coupon to only 1 shopper card.  I like to do the traditional practice, but that’s nifty hi-tech couponing. :)

            • Canes1999

QUESTION I NEED ANSWERED BEFORE THE END OF DAY PLEASE HELP :)   I went shopping this morning at CVS and had an unfriendly cashier.  If something beeps she doesn’t even attempt to work out a solution (NOTE to self….NEVER check out with her again lol)! So I have a few questions after my transaction as I paid more than I expected and still didn’t get my 2nd gas card. I bought 2 of the PF skin care items which count for gas.  The one I paid for was $22.99 and the free one was valued at $20.99 which should be $42.99 towards gas RIGHT?? My previous balance towards gas said “amount toward this reward $43.95 Amount needed to earn reward $16.05” So by spending the $42.99 I should have gotten 1 gas card and had an overage of $26.94 needing $3.06 to get my next one, CORRECT?? So I purchased 3 boxes of the Kleenex @99 cents which should have given me the second gas card.  Now my receipt says “Amount towards this reward $73.90 Amount needed to earn reward $30.00” I also bought 2 bottles of Herbal Essence which did not ring up B1G1 50% and clearly did not count towards my gas.  I called CVS customer service and it is closed.  Should I go back with all my products and talk to the manager?? He is super nice and very helpful! Also, the cashier said I could not use my $4/$20 facial care product SQ because i used 2~~ $3/$10 cosmetic SQ’s so I tried another $3/$10 since my total skin care was $42.99 and she said I couldn’t use it either…i thought that was wrong because I made over $30 in skin care purchases.  I’m so confused I hope I didn’t confuse you all, but any help is great appreciated! Thanks a billion!

      • VP22

As far as the PF, no, only the $22.99 counts towards the gas card deal. They do not count the free one into your total so your total skin care is $22.99 which is probably why it beeped. As far as the Herbal Essence, I would take that back. Maybe it was the wrong size or type.

        • HeatherM221

Oh bummer I didn’t know that about the free item! Well thanks for answering my question that was the main concern.  I will be taking the HE back and getting my money back period since I don’t need it for the gas card and I have tons of shampoo!

      • Guest

VP22 is correct about the PF B1G1 part of the question.  As to your coupon usage part:

Since items that are advertised as B1G1 free do, in fact ring up as full price and $0, you can only use store coupons that count toward the real amount of your purchase (not the free part).  You could use two $3/10 cosmetic purchase (which is a stretch since the skin care part of the store really isn’t part of the cosmetic part of the store but that’s neither here nor there…) because your PF purchase was $22+.  But, you couldn’t use a third because you didn’t have $30+.  You couldn’t use a $4/20 facial care product coupon in addition to your two $3/$10 cosmetic coupons because CVS policy allows you to stack open ended $/$$ coupons only when your total purchase amount exceeds total CVS open ended coupon amount.  For instance, had you purchased $20 of cosmetic items and $20 of facial care items you could have used all three coupons.

Bottom line, your cashier was right and there’s no need to avoid her.  She’s just following CVS coupon policy.  The register beeped for a reason when you handed her all of those coupons.  :-)

        • HeatherM221

Thanks for that info. I kind of thought that when the $4/$20 beeped but when I asked her she didn’t know.  That was the 3rd “I don’t know” I had gotten out of her so that is why I said I would avoid her because everyone else I have dealt with is really nice and helpful with questions and coupons.  I guess I had assumed that since one was $3/$10 COSMETICS and the $4/$20 SKIN CARE they were considered different.  As for using the $3/$10 for the PF skin care, my store has cleared that for me in advance twice in the last 3 months so I always check before I “do something wrong” (I am a loyal PF customer….wouldn’t use any other skin care…..VERY SAD TO HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT CVS WOULD NO LONGER BE CARRYING THE SKIN CARE LINE…my associate told me that it is all CVS’s so if you love their stuff you might want to check). I am still new to couponing and having moved to Florida the laws are different here than back in NC so I always check if I am unsure.  The manager said they consider it a cosmetic bc it goes onto my face so to each their own on that one I guess.
But again thank you for clearing that up for me on the coupon part and the gas! Truly helpful!

30% crts printing from the red box is so fun to use! Bought L’oreal and Sally Hansen at regular price. Used the 30%, $3/10 beauty and MQs. Got ecbs back, so made $1 and $21 towards beauty club. Yeah!!

HELP! I’m new to couponing, but have been doing pretty well. However, I have been watching Extreme Couponing trying to learn all the “tricks of the trade”. PLEASE tell me where the couponers get their high dollar coupons.I’ve seen them use $4 & $5 12pk soda Q’s, among others. I have NEVER seen Q’s for 12 pks at that value.

      • Guest

That’s because many of the high value coupons on the show are fraudulent and the show is a sham.  Google and check out Jill Cataldo’s blog for discussion on the problems with the show.

        • Madisonanita

I looked @ the blog, & found that 2 of my Q’s were fake!! I just threw them away. They were for free Northern toilet tissue. I got them from ebay-from LONGBLINE2011. I had no idea. I had no reason to believe they were fake. Lesson learned.

          • Gmcouponer

You can go on to google and type in coupon clipping services. There are plenty throughout the United States that are great to deal with. I don recommend you get someone close to you or one that the couponers use and recommend. I use 2 different ones myself. I have no use for all the coupons in the papers so I order just what I need and that leaves the papers for all the other people who can use them. It has worked out great for me and my family. I hope this helps….

          • Bargainqueen7

That’s called coupon fraud and LONGBLINE2011 can go to jail.   Contact ebay immediately.

Please don’t watch that show. All responsible couponers need to boycott it to send a message. You will not learn any REALISTIC couponing skills from that show. I have noticed deals getting less and less beneficial due to that stupid show.

      • JTTLC

As the others have stated DO NOT LEARN TO COUPON WITH THAT SHOW…….as you can tell they never buy a ‘real’ buggy of groceries.  My family cannot eat paper towels, sports drinks, hot sauce, or the like and actually survive.  And they allow policies to be bent and it is not at all what us moms who coupon really do to feed our families.  Watch the videos on here and there are several on youtube that cater to the way this group coupons.  Also keep reading the blogs here as they were a great help to me when I first started.  In no time you will be a pro and thinking how ridiculous the people on those shows are….:)))

        • Madisonanita

I had NO IDEA!! I knew they were getting an unbelievable amount out mdse for NOTHING, but just thought those were the Q’s they were able to match that week. Thank you for the info.

      • Jpresnall98

I think they send letters to the companies

      • Mcleodsc

Unless the actual company sent them those coupons -they are fakes. Forget what you saw them do on that show-it is for entertainment only and is staged. The grocery stores featured lets them bend or ignore the store policys. Most stores limit the number of like coupons you can use-the most lenient store around here is Publix which is an hour away -you can use 10 like coupons. As for getting soda cheap or free, the only way I know of is to collect Coke reward points and when you have enough you can redeem them for a coupon for a free 12 pack of cokes-they mail you the coupon.

      • mrn1

Ditto on what Mcleodsc said.  Many of those high value and free coupons on that show have been proven to be counterfeits.  Check out the CICs website and their post about the TLC show.  Usually if a coupon is really high value and sounds too good to be true, it is.

I got $15 off PF facial care, $5 off $15 covergirl purchase, $2 off shampoo, cond…, $1 off Pantene, $3 off next $10 cosmetic purchase!!!! That will help to get the gas card!!
I do have one question…If I have a bogo coupon and the product itself is bogo how will that work?? Thanks!

I need to really get on the CVS bandwagon, because these deals look amazing. I have yet to really figure out the drug store couponing. I don’t have the PF $1/1 coupons, but I’m going to take advantage of the deals any way. <$1 for PF makeup is a steal, even if it isn't free!

      • guest

I agree. I never get the $1 pf coupons either :( But it is still such a great deal without them! I love CVS!!!!  I have been doing this for a year now and have shopped all 3 drug stores.Cvs is my 1st choice followed by rite aid. every now and then I find a great deal that works for me at walgreens. CVS is NO 1 because it so easy to shop there and I have never had a bad expereince with anyone who works there. Happy shopping!

Just curious as to how many ECB everyone got from their quarterly spending? I was so excited to find out, I logged into my account last night at midnight and they were posted! I got $10 which I think is great bc I have only been going to CVS for about 6 weeks so I am stoked!

      • Stacyannw

      • Guest

You definitely are excited to get your quarterly ECBs when you check your account at midnight!

The goal for many of us old timers is to get a very low quarterly ECB. (unless you have prescriptions or are a diabetes club member ).  A low quarterly ECB means that you are spending very little cash out of pocket while using coupons, CVS coupons and ECBs to “buy” most of your items.  After you’ve been at it a while, you’re goal will be to get $.50 or $0. :-)
Now that you’ve got a great start with your $10 ECB, see how much shopping that can do for you this next quarter!

        • HeatherM221

Well I have keep track of everything out of pocket and I have spent less than $175 for over $1000 worth of stuff so I was shocked to see that much for my ECB. I have bought a few things full price bc we needed them…i.e. beach toys and beach stuff everytime we go in there….try shopping with twin 4-year olds lol!
I figured I am saving average 80% so that is great for me.  At any rate I am just happy to have $10 to spend today, yahhh!

          • mrn1

Good job HeatherM!  Free is great, but anything over 50% is better than what I was spending a few years ago!  As I mentioned above, if something I really need is about the same price at one store versus CVS, I buy at CVS as you do, because I know I will at least get back a little of it.

            • HeatherM221

Thank you! I average 75-85% and sometimes 90% off savings at CVS….I love it and am so glad I discovered how to do this! Now if I could get my grocery spending cut that low lol….I still save 60% on average from my grocery bill!

          • Guest

Wow, that’s great shopping and savings in 6 weeks.  The spring quarter ended June 15 so you really jumped into CVS shopping.  Very impressive!

For those who don’t know, the quarterly rewards are 2% of your out of pocket spending and are issued in $.50 increments.  CVS rounds down so if your oop spending is at $99.98, you’ll only receive a $1.50 quarterly ECB.   If your oop is $199, you’ll only receive $3.50.

            • HeatherM221

I actually mentioned this confusion about OOP or total spending to the manager at my store and he said he got $20 ECB because it is based on your total spending regardless of coupons or OOP.  I don’t know what the truth is bc I have heard so many people be on either side of it!

            • Guest

The quarterly ECB is based on oop spending.  You’ll be able to track the amount on your receipt — it is shown right now as “Summer 2012 Spending”.   However, that amount can get skewed if you are a Diabetes Club member because certain purchases add up differently.  Prescriptions also count for certain folks (2 prescriptions = $1 added to quarterly ECB)

If it were based on total spending regardless of coupons, quite a few of us would be receiving $50+ each quarter and that’s definitely not the case. LOL

            • HeatherM221

It still doesn’t make sense then how I got $10 ECB.  In order to have gotten that minus the $1 I got for prescriptions I would have had to of spent $450 oop and there is NO WAY I spent that in roughly 2 months that I have been shopping, even if we took it all the way back to the 3 month mark.  Contrary to this though I am being generous in saying I have spent no more than $200 oop which would net me $4 ECB. At any rate, the machine printed $10 which is great for me however I got them.

        • mrn1

HeatherM221 may be doing as I do to have that big of a quarterly ECB.  (Although mine was only $5).  I figure if something is the same price at the grocery store, Wags or Target-like batteries or bottled water-buy it at CVS and at least get something back out of it.  I started this a couple of months ago and use my ECBs, earn ECBs and have less OOP elsewhere rather than walking around with $5 to $10 ECBs in my purse.  It is working out good for me.  While a low quarterly ECB means you aren’t spending much OOP there, surely you are spending more OOP at other stores.  That is why I buy at CVS if there is no price difference on an item I need at that moment (of course, otherwise I wait for a sale!)

          • Guest

I still buy items like that at CVS — I just use CVS $/$$ coupons and ECBs to purchase it.  :-)  My oop will then be close to $0 so my quarterly spending only goes up by pennies each shopping trip.

            • mrn1

I haven’t gotten CVS $ off coupons in I don’t know when (other than specific purchase ones, like Gillette or cosmetics).  That sure would be nice to bring OOP costs down.

      • Soberkitty

I got $6. But I thought it was based on actual oop so that would have meant I spent $600. Which I know I didn’t.

      • Wow, $10 ECB’s for six weeks, I think that’s pretty good!  I was happy with $2.50 and I’ve been coupon for about the same amount of time lol. ;)

      • Guest

Mine didn’t even carry Cortaid, but luckily the manager let me get a CVS brand kind for free. Just an fyi for people who get one and they don’t carry it, ask the Manager if you can substitute it for a CVS brand. Since it is a coupon from CVS…

No I just did this transaction and bought 3 eye shadows or something like that.  They were a total of less than $7 and my cashier took my coupon.  Always ask just to make sure though bc I know some CVS cashiers are totally different!

The PF cosmetics are ringing up as a sale price of $7 off the regular price.  So, if an item was $7.79, it’s showing on the receipt as $.79.  In order to use the $3 off $10 cosmetics coupon correctly, you’d need to purchase $10 worth of sales priced items.  In other words, if you were to buy only $.79 items, you’d have to purchase 13 X $.79 = $10.27 to be able to use the $3 off $10 CVS cosmetics coupon.

    • JenneyG

My total was $15.29 after all the coupons including a 30% off q, so I paid cashier a $15 ecb and the strangest thing happened. My total became $3+. Cashier then explained that 30% value changes after paying with ecbs. I always manage to just pay a few cents or nothing at all, so paying 3 dollar is a big failure to me, lol…

      • Miranda

Was your $15 ECB from your quarterly earnings?

      • Guest

I had a similar thing happen to me and the cashier ended up telling me that you are paying the taxes without the Extrabucks.

So, if you got about $45 worth of stuff and you have a 7% tax rate, and you use coupons and 30% off and $15 worth of ExtraBucks, then you are going to pay the  $3.15 worth of taxes.

Awesome morning at CVS. Got my $1 quarterly and then a coupon for a free Cortaid. Bought 2 Naturemade Vitamins bogo and used a $7 coupon I got from Naturemade, $1 manu q and $4 CVS coupon so I got my vitamins for free. The best part of my morning was buying 6 Pantene products @ $19.50 then using 3 $3/2 and 5 $2 cvs coupons which means I paid .50 for Pantene and got $19.50 towards gas card!

      • ireneY

Where did you get the $4 cvs nature made from?
        Awesome job with the Qs!

        • VP22

It printed from the red machine last week.

    • guest

Does anyone know if the 30% coupon is off 1 item or entire purchase? Like if I buy more than 1 item in a single transaction?

      • Maria

The coupon is good for the entire purchase. However, it will only take the percentage off from items that are not “on sale”.  So, if you plan to use it, make sure you have some non-sale items in your cart.  Also, before the cashier pushes that button to apply your percentage, ask them how much is being taken off of your transaction.  I’ve read here that some cashiers automatically assume you’ll want to use it.  Sometimes, it’s a waste for only $.33 cents. :)

        • guest

I want to buy some beach chairs. Not even sure how much they are. I will still get the gas card, right?

          • Guest

Yes, you will still get the gas card if you use the 30% off discount in your transaction.  The coupons/discounts do not affect the gas card promotional ECB from printing.

            • guest

just got back from cvs. bought 2 chairs at 29.99 each. used the 30 % coupon and the register took off $18. Then I gave the cashier a $5 ecb. The register voided the $18 discount and then only took of $16.50. Still a good deal. Paid 41.08 with tax and got back $20 in gas cards :)

            • Kleckie

are the chairs pretty good quality? Thinking about doing the same thing you did but cannot find a pic of the chair. thanks!

            • guest

there is a pic in the ad. They are nice. my husband and I think they are comfy and perfect for the beach. After the discount and gas card they work out to be $10 each. not bad for the chair. I would not pay more for them. hth

    • Shaina

Help. Im gonna go to CVS. I have $10 Extra Bucks. I want to get a gas card. I get a total of $30.93 BEFORE coupons. Then save $7 in coupons… and then can I use my $10 ECC so my total out of pocket is $13.93 and get a gas card?????

      • guest

        YES! Pretty good right :)

    • Aaron

I went up to the machine today and it only gave me three coupons… Rescanned and it said “no more!”… I was spoiled last week!

They didn’t have the Raid barrier stuff… So I didn’t get that as planned..

They did have the Centrum clearance that cost me 24 cents each (after $5 coupons), got two of them..

They had a free cortizone coupon (only one of the three that was any good) , and the 5.99 Item I purchased (for free) counted toward my gas card (got a box of Pampers with a 2.50 mfg coupon to top it off)… I walked out of there for $2 after spending $23 in ECBs plus I got a $10 Gift card..

Counting the ECB’s as cash (which the really are)… $15 for a box of diapers, two vitamins, brand name cortozone, case of water ain’t bad!

    • YEAHYYYY SO HAPPY  8 ECB  FOR ME  QUARTERLY  :)   AND LOTS OF MAKE UP ONLY .49EA GREAT DEAL THANKS JENNY AND EVERY ONE WHO SHARES THERE INFO TOO :D #1 SOUTHERN SAVERS#1 CVS<3 #1

    • I did great this morning at CVS! I did 3 transactions and using Redbox coupons and P & G coupons.  I spent $12 on the first transaction, $19 on the second, and $0.52 on the third one….then I got 3 $10 gas card coupons back(they were “out” of the gas cards).  I bought 3 Tide, 6 Pantene, 2 Charmin Basic, 9 Covergirl single eye shadows, 1 Covergirl foundation, 1 Nexxus Mousse, 1 Duracell 16 pack batteries, and 2 Dawn detergents.  So proud! So I basically paid about $1.52 for all this since I would be purchasing gas anyway!

    • gracebaby6

When you purchase the nivea tin can which cost .99 cent you will get $2.00 extra care buck The limit is 4, so you can earn $8.00 in extra care bucks. I’m going to use my bucks for the tide applying it toward the gas card.

      • HeatherM221

Where do you find that product? I’m not sure what it is lol!

        • gracebaby6

They in the section for skin care. Look for the nivea lotions they’re with those products. I hope you locate them it’s such a great. Look out gas card.

          • HeatherM221

I am going tomorrow to check it out! My CVS seems small in comparison to others so if they don’t have it i will drive across Panama City Beach looking for them lol!

You can do it 4 times per card. I had a 3.50 ecb and. Bought 4, paid .48 and got a $8.00 ecb!

    • HeatherM221

Had to share my trip to CVS! Here is what I got:
*1 Cascade action pacs (with a money back guarantee so they better work)
      *1 Tide detergent
      *2 Softsoaps
      *2 Febreeze set & refresh (B1G1 coupon PG 7/01 and $1/1 (2) q’s PG 7/01
      *2 Pantene Shampoos
*2 Pantene stylers (mousse and frizz serum)
      *1 Shick Hydro Silk razor
*1 Shick Hydro 3 blade razor cart. 4 ct.
      *1 P.F. concealer duo
      *1 P.F. Eyebrightener
*1 P.F. Matte nude eyeshadow quad (great colors—-highly recommend)
*2 Dawn and Olay dish soaps
      *2 Coke 2L
      *2 Gillette odor shield deodorants
      *2 Covergirl lipsticks/lip nature balms
*2 Cortaids (one was mine and my mom didn’t want hers that was free)
*1 Band-Aid tough strips ($1.00 coupon on box)
*1 Johnson & Johnson first aid bag (FREE WYB 3 products listed and the cortaid and the Band-Aids counted so I paid $3.49 for the bag and bandaids)

      Total value $138.99
Paid: $30.40 (only because I forgot to use my $10 P&G rebate card and my $10 ECB that printed this morning….stupid me but I’m using them for the P.F. skin care later today in conjunction with my $4/$20 coupon which will give me my 2nd gas card) so it should have only been 10.40
Got $10 gas card and $16.91 needed for my next one.
80% savings but if I had remember my ECB’s and my gift card I would have saved about 93%

      • HeatherM221

Which I am also hoping to get $10 Beauty Bucks from the stuff I bought today and the P.F. from yesterday and what I will buy tonight!

      • Coldmamajenn

My Febreze coupon says ‘Buy One Febreze Fabric Refresher Get One Febreze Set and Refresh Free’. I am super jealous of you since those things are awesome!

        • HeatherM221

Ohhhh bummer! Yes I love these things, they last forever and smell really good! The total came to $1.09 each! Can’t even get the cheap crap for that price lol!

          • Canes1999

how much were they shelf price?

            • HeatherM221

Sorry guys I did not get my email notifications about comments. The price tag said $4.99 but when I checked my receipt it said $2.99 and then I used the (2) $1/1 set and refresh.  As for the coupon being wrong i totally didn’t notice it and neither did the cashier and she went over everything and filled in the dollar amount.  Honest mistake I guess. I don’t have another one to look at.

            • Guest

Just a general comment on B1G1 coupon and CVS $/$ coupon usage:  It appears that you used a B1G1 and two $1 off coupons for the two items that you purchased.  That’s incorrect coupon usage.  You cannot use more coupons than you have items.
Target and Publix coupon policy would not even allow you to use a single $1 off coupon with the B1G1 coupon.

            • HeatherM221

I have had no problem using many q’s this way at Publix and CVS (not a Target shopper).  Again, like I have stated in previous comments, I am fairly new to couponing and ALWAYS check with my store before I do anything and they say it is no problem.  So as far as I am concerned I do not see how this is incorrect coupon usage if the stores take it.  I have never asked an employee of ANY store I shop at to do something illegal and risk their job just to help me out!

            • HeatherM221

I posted a comment with a link but it has to be approved first so I will paraphrase it here.

“Example: Let’s say that the Tide product mentioned above were to go on a BOGO sale, per store Coupon Policy, you can use one manufacture’s & one store coupon on each item.
For this scenario, let’s just say the bottle Tide was $5.49, BOGO. I would be able to purchase two bottles for $5.49, use two $1.00/1 manufactures and two $1.00/1, a $4.00 discount. So I would pay a total of $1.49 for two bottles of Tide. Even without coupons, the BOGO deals are often amazing prices that beat Wal-Mart any day.”

            • Guest

The problem with your CVS trip is that you used a manufacturer’s B1G1 coupon as well as two manufacturer’s $1 coupons on a total of two items.  That’s three coupons on two products and that’s not acceptable.

            • HeatherM221

I am reallytired of aruging this point and I just spent14 minutes on hold with CVS because i did not want to do this deal againif it is incorrect. The rep I spoke with said I did nothing wrong and the reasoning for this in Florida  CVS can consider the BOGO a store coupon and thereby using2 mfg coupons as well. I had her double check with her supervisor and I was againtold the samething.i read the exactcoupon to them from the paperpreciew online sinceI did not have the coupon anymore.

I realize this is CVS thread but here’s Publix coupon policy:

A customer has a BOGO manufacturer’s coupon. Can another manufacturer’s coupon be used for either of these items?
A: No. When the manufacturer issues a BOGO coupon, it requires the purchase of two items. Therefore, a coupon has already been applied to both items. This is because the customer had to purchase both items to meet the coupon’s requirements.Since you are so new to couponing there is a lot to learn.  Take the time to read each store’s policy and understand exactly what it means.

            • HeatherM221

Which paper did you get your B1G1 coupon from?  Perhaps we can check for sellers in your area.

        • Guest

My coupon says the same thing.

        • Guest

I’ve checked many coupon insert previews — they’ve all only listed the ”
Buy One Febreze Fabric Refresher Get One Febreze Set and Refresh Free” coupon.  It looks like that was the only one available for the P&G insert this week.

You will probably be pleased with your action packs!  I’ve been using them for years, and they clean perfectly AND don’t fog up the clear glasses that we have.  Harsher products scratch and make clear class cloudy.

        • HeatherM221

Yay good to hear about the action pacs.  I have always used the gel/liquid so it will be good to venture out.

    • Ella_sinder

question: i *thought* that the 15/1 pf q would make some overage for me but instead a had to purchase 15+ w/ it…. is this everyone else’s experiance with it also?

      • Mcleodsc

the cashiers at my stores always adjust the coupons down -so no overage -but I have read on different blogs of customers getting overage as long as they had enough things to use up the overage. YMMV

        • Ella_sinder

i’m not complaining of course to get free stuff… just threw me off my plan

      • Guest

The $15 Physician’s Formula CRT is acting like a $15 off $15 coupon so there’s no overage.  And if you use it with any open ended $/$$ coupon, your total has to be $15 + $/$$ to be able to use the coupon.  For instance, if you have a $15 off physician’s formula CRT and a $4/$20 facial skin care CRT, you’d need to purchase $35 worth of skin care products.   If you also happened to have a $5/$20 coupon, you’d need to purchase a total of $55 worth of items.

        • Ella_sinder

well that explains a lot, thanks! all total i only had $31 and the pf q kept beeping (after my 4/20 q)… the cashier could understand it and got someone to “push it through.”

          • Guest

It’s not apparent that it’s coded like a $/$$ coupon so it’s confusing when the register beeps when it’s used with a $/$$ and the total value isn’t high enough to allow for both coupons.  I’m sure that there have been many overrides with that PF coupon.  :-)

        • Wethedeans

I had a rain heck for the PF a few weeks back to get $15.00 ecbs. Saturday I bought 2 PF firming potion at $22 something. It was b1g1 free. I had the $4 off facial care coupon and (2) $4/20 coupons. I paid about $9.99 oop but got back a gas card and a $15.00 ecb. Thought that was all righty!

    • Cherry

Just finished my CVS run for the week. That was fun!
      2 – Pantene Volume shampoo (@$3.25) – $6.502 – Physician’s Formula Eye Cream (@$7.99 – normally $19.99 each) – $15.981 – 8pk Charmin – $5.992 – Dawn detergent – $1.94
Total $30.41 – which met the requirements to get a $10 gas card
Then the coupons:Red Box $2.00 off PanteneRed Box $1.00 off any shampoomanufacturer Pantene $3.00 off 2Which means my 2 bottles of Pantene cost me 50 cents
Then the coupons:Red Box $15.00 off Physician’s Formulawhich means my 2 bottles of Eye cream cost me 98 cents
Then the coupons:Red Box $1.50 off Charminmanufacturer Charmin $1.50 offwhich means my Charmin cost me $2.99
Then I had $2.00 ECB and $3.00 ECB for a total off my bill of $29.00 so total out of pocket with tax $3.54.
And everything that I purchased are products that I always use.
Oh, and I got $10 free gas out of the deal too!

Thank you Jenny! The money that I didn’t spend on myself I used to purchase body wash and deodorant for a soldier’s care package.

    • guest

Sorry…newbie here.  So to get the gas card, I need to get $30 in approved product BEFORE coupons?

      • mario

        yes before coupons

      • Wethedeans

Yes. They will ring it up, and you should have at least $30.00 in qualifying product. Then, throw those coupons down, baby!

    • Guest

If you have the $3 of $10 Tide CVS coupon from the Red box two weeks ago, this week would be a good week to use it. Combine with 2 $1 off Tide Detergent Coupons from PG 7/1, that would make them $3.47 a piece.

      Sale Price: $9.49

      Wow

      • Trish

That’s awesome, I went to cvs after reading your post since I had the same $5 cvs coupon and $4 manu coupon, and my deal panned out exactly as yours did!!  I had the same ecb’s print  for the bag tag and spring spending.  Of course I then had to roll those on the nivea deal and walked out with $8 ecb’s.   I am geeked over my new couponing hobby!!!!  LOL

I thought the 4/1 coupon was only for the mens razors.

        •  it does not specify for men’s razor it just says any 3 or 5 blade razor. The Schick Hydro Silk is a 5 blade razor. I used it tonight as well and it worked great!

      •  I have that $5 coupon too and was hoping I would be able to use both together. so excited it worked for you and am going to get mine today!

      • Caroline

Am I missing something?  My $4/1 coupon expired 6/24.  The only other one I have is for men’s razors.  If you check the coupon database on here, the only Silk coupon it lists is a Target one.  I have the $5 coupon from the red box and was hoping to use it but since I don’t need it, there’s not really any point in spending the money one it.  I meant to use it last Saturday before the mq expired which would have been a better deal but we were traveling to the beach, bummer!

    • Soberkitty

Okay so great rip to CVS as usual. found some Organix conditioner on clearance at $3 and change. 50% off and it printed off a $5 ECB cause it counted towards the remainder of my Organix deal from last week. Didn’t think it would do that! Also snagged the Nivea .99 tin with the $2 ECB back so a money maker. They were out of the Schick Hydro Silks at my store so I’ll have to go to the other one or get a rein-check. The PF tinted moisturizer counted as face care at my store even though I was aiming for just the makeup deal. So I was able to use the $15 PF coupon and it took the $7 off too. Did CG mascara BOGO 50% used $3 off $10 coupon there also the $3 off two Q. Just a really good trip today, as usual.

    • MelindaM

I had a great trip to cvs today.
      I got 2 Pantene shammpoo
      2 pantene cond.
      2 covergirl powder
      2 covergirl eyeliner

Used $10 ecb from last week.
      2 $3/2 pantene coupons
      2 $3/2 covergirl coupons
2 $2 hair care coupons from red machine
2 $3 off $10 cosmetics purchase from red machine
& $3 off $10 covergirl purchase from red machine

      Spent $1.34 & got back a $10 gas card :):):)

      • I did almost the exact same deal, except I bought CG eye shadows.  I bought a beach umbrella on top of it, which was $19.99, used a 30% off red coupon machine q and my 2.50 spring spending ECB for that, and my total was $22.97.  I got a $10 gas card back plus 1 ECB from my green bag tag!  Basically paid about $12 for $65 worth of stuff.  :)

A little frustrated with CVS right now…

I received a 30% off total CVS purchase coupon in my email and was so excited to use it for the gas gift card deal (which would save me $9 off the $30 total you had to have). Got up to the register and the lady was so rude (I do live in LA now, so maybe that’s why…). When I inquired about the coupon not being taken from my total, she just said that I couldn’t use it because all the items I purchased were on sale (Tide, Bounty, Pantene, etc.).

So I just made my purchase with my coupons and then returned a couple things to still get the gift card deal. Not sure if that was the most ethical thing to do, but I was so mad with CVS and plus I didn’t see anything on the 30% off coupon that specified any limitations! Not the first time this has happened. Grrr!!

      • Soberkitty

Unfortunetly you can’t use % off coupons on sale or clearance merchandise. I always wait to buy stuff I really want but never have a coupon for.

      • All Q’d UP

You can use %off  coupons with items that are not on sale but are generating ECB’s. This type of sale happens all the time at CVS. Sorry about your luck. There are 4 stores in my town and they all interpret differently. Just ask her to scan it. If it’s not supposed to be used, the register should reject it right?? That’s what I tell cashiers who argue with me–in that type of situation. Also, try to be as pleasant as possible every time. I have found that if you get the cashiers to like you and you prove that you are an “honest couponer” then they will not scrutinize everything you do. LOL

      • Me

The % off coupons ALWAYS say exclude sales items.  Gas card deals are sales items….the register will not accept the coupon on any sales/ECB item.  It is plainly stated on the coupons and e-mails.

all of those items that you got were on sale and also part of the gas card deal, so the 30% off coupon i won’t take anything off, if you were to buy something not on sale price but still part of the gift card deal it would take off the %, and if you read the fine print of the % off q’s it does say not valid on sale prices.  Also if you send to card they can tell u if you can use it and I think what it will take off before the credit it to your card

      • ireneY

I think your cashier was trying to tell you the coupon wouldn’t apply to the sale items you bought, not that you couldn’t use it, but in a not-so-nice way. I do find customer service to be sorely lacking in Cali., including SF. :(
My frustration with the 30% discount is it didn’t show up at the register after sending to card three days earlier. Called 1-800 later and they said it was redeemed at the same store 10 minutes before my transaction on items I didn’t buy!

Anyone know if any of the Greenville SC CVSs will take expired ecbs? I have $8 that expired yesterday and I’ve had family in and haven’t been able to go. I know some of them used to, but I haven’t tried lately.

      • Jaimelweaver

I’ve found that most don’t. But you can always ask!

        • Happy Feet

I called corporate when one of mine expired and they reinstated it for me… it took 24 hours… to show up

      • my local cvs will take them up to 7 days after exp

    • sharla

Went to CVS today and found CVS diapers on 75% clearance for 2.22 .  I  have never used these but since I had 12.00 ECB and am pretty well stocked on all the PG stuff, I decided to give them a try.  5 bags of diapers for less than 50 cents….

      • marysc

You really didn’t pay less than 50 cents since your $12 ECBs should be treated like cash. People can convince themselves that ECBs are “free money” both when they get them and when they use them. Most people (and Jenny’s lists) take them off the total owed when they get them. After that they are like using cash or a gift card!

    • Sweepsgirl

So I had some tear-pad coupons bogo for Sobe Life Water.  They are on sale for $1.00 so I bought 4.  When I realized the coupon is scanning $1.79 off…I went back in and bought 10 more…$ .10 each!  What a deal!

    • mrn1

I bought 4 Nivea Creme Tins, 2 PF eyeshadows, 1 PF eyeliner, 2 PF Eye Brighteners, 8 PF Concealer Powders, 6 CG eyeshadows, 1 Carmex Sheer Moisture, 2 bags Doritos and a Dawn dish soap.  I paid $10.80 plus taxes and got back a $8  ECB, $10 gas card and will be have $37 towards a Beauty Club reward.  Best CVS trip in a long time.

    • Crownstar

Couldn’t find the cortaid in any CVS.  CVS allowed me to buy their brand of itch cream and use the Free cortaid coupon.  Did the Nivea tin deal (did all in 1 transaction) and used the 8 ECBs toward the next transaction – – got a $10 gas card; all together spent 4 OOP.  Gotta Love CVS

    • Ashlane

HELP PLEASE!!!!!! I made a post in the brag lounge of the Krazy Coupon Lady’s website and it was removed for “coupon fraud.”  I don’t think it was….and I missing something?  On Saturday evening I bought 6 covergirl mascaras and used 3 of the buy one get one free coupons from the PG brandsaver.  I also used 3, $1 covergirl product.  Since I was buying 3 and getting 3 free, I only used 3 of those.  I also used 3 of the $3/10 makeup coupons from the makeup machine.  Even though I was using the buy one get one free coupons each product was 9.99.  Please tell me how this is coupon fraud.  Thanks in advance!

      • mrn1

Is this the only thing that was in your brag?  Are you sure this is the part that they thought constituted fraud or could it have been something else in your transaction?   Did you buy the mascara specified on the coupons (Lashblast Volume…should have been orange tube or white (special Olympics edition)?  I know some people were using that coupon on any of the CoverGirl lash blast mascaras even though it specified a certain one?  Just my thoughts without knowing more details…

      • Crystalgoodwin3

Sounds like to me it made for a great deal. I don’t see how it could be considered coupon fraud. My CVS would certainly accept the same deal.

      • All Q’d UP

I think it’s because CVS coupon policy is you cannot use a coupon on a free item. The BOGO coupon attaches itself to both items. It seems like this was never really spelled out before, but they recently updated their policy with specific scenarios (I think). I actually did this deal too and then realized afterward that it wasn’t honest. Read these comments that everyone posts here, that’s how I learned so much about couponing the right way. If the cashiers get to know you as honest, they will like us instead of dreading us crazy people. LOL

        • mrn1

I wouldn’t think it was for the $1 coupons because KCL posts deals/scenarios using coupons on the free item. Could be though…

          • Ashlane

she said it was because of the $1 off.  But my cashier said I could use 3 BOGO and 3 $1 off since I was buying 6 mascaras.

        • cassia2

Actually, the policy says you *can* use a coupon on a free item.  It specifically talks about BOGO promotions and says you can use two coupons, or can use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO promotion.  It doesn’t specifically address BOGO coupon with $ off coupon, but I know in practice my cashiers have always encouraged that – cashiers at multiple locations.  :)  It does say that you can’t use coupons that go past the sale price, though, but in a BOGO case that means both coupons can’t go past the price of both items.

          • Dawn

They let you use 2 q on their bogo promotion, and bogo q on bogo promotion. That lady used bogo q plus more q for the Bo.

            • cassia2

The policy talks about BOGO Free promotions.  The Covergirl promotion this week is a BOGO 50% off.  You can’t use another coupon if you use a BOGOF on a BOGOF promotion because you can’t go below the cost of the two combined.  BOGO50% would still leave some unpaid (the 50% probably), so there should be no reason you couldn’t also use a $ off coupon with it, just as you could with any other sale.  :)  It does get more confusing when the BOGO is only a partial one.  :)

          • Dawn

They let you use 2 q on their bogo promotion, and bogo q on bogo promotion. That lady used bogo q plus more q for the Bo.

          • mrn1

It does say in a FAQ on their site where their coupon policy is located that a coupon cannot be used on a free item.  It is confusing because in the actual policy they have posted it talks about using coupons on BOGO promotions.  Nowhere do they actually discuss using a second coupon in addition to a BOGO coupon other than to say a coupon cannot be used on a free item.  Maybe this is something that could be clarified for everyone by one of the bloggers that has a relationship with CVS corporate.

            • Ashlane

I didn’t use a coupon on a free item.  I used a coupon on the item I was buying, and got the other mascara free thanks to my bogo coupon.

      • mrn1

Also, if the BOGO coupon gave the full value of the mascara $9.99 off, that could also be why.  the coupon said max value $7.50.  Can’t say for sure without seeing your post. HTH

      • ericswifeowensmom

From what you posted here, everthing looks like you were complying with policy and coupon rules.

      • sol214

Looks like you used  them before they expired  Sat evening right? Because if you used them sat night you were fine. did you mention you got a gas card back?   maybe thats were they think the fraud is using expired coupons bogo exp. 6/30/12   gas card  starts 7/01/12
one day makes a  difference for Lost Prevention HTH

        • Ashlane

I used them Saturday. I did get the gascard but if CVS starts there sale at 4PM on Saturday how have I committed fraud?

          • sol214

oh cool I didnt know they started  on Saturday’s . Well your right,  its not Fraud looks like you did  everything right.

          • Dawn

I think because you use 3 $1 off cv product together with bogo q.

        • Ashlane

I have emailed them.  They said “You purchased 6 CoverGirl items and used 6 manufacturer’s coupons: 3 BOGO and three $1.00/1. You needed to purchase 3 additional items in order to use the $1.00/1 coupons.”

Does anyone know if that is right??? My CVS always takes $ off coupons with a BOGO.  For example if I had a BOGO for the mascara, I could buy 2 and use 1, $1 off coupon as well.  The cashier told me I could do it.  I just need to get over it but I didn’t think I was “committing coupon fraud”

          • Sean

That is just one of those things that is up to the individual.  Many think using the dollar off coupon with the bogo coupon isn’t the manufacturers intent.  Others see it as you do — the dollar off coupon apply to the one are buying and you get the free one for meeting the purchase requirement.

It’s sort of like taking peelies off products without purchasing them. Some think it’s OK while many don’t.

Dumpster diving isn’t exactly legal either, but that doesn’t stop her.  So accusing you of coupon fraud seems to me a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

    • Soberkitty

      Get a rain check!

    • paravel46

Just an FYI. The coupon coming out of the red box that says $1 off hair accessories works on shampoo! I didn’t get the shampoo one so tried it on Pantene and it worked :)

Sorry, but shampoo is not a hair accessory.  :-(

    • I’m interested in the CoverGirl deal seeing as I need to restock my makeup. I do have a question though. I know the deal is buy one get one 50% off. Does the total to get to $30 for a gas card before or after the 50% is taken off?

      • Couponmomof5

        After

      • MelindaM

Mine didnt ring up 50% off until after the cashier scanned all my coupons. I guess once they hit the tender button or whatever they hit, then it takes it off. I was looking at the card screen while she was ringing it up, my total was 8. something after all my coupons then she hit the button and it brought my total down to $1.34.

I love nivea me being from Germany its what i grew up with but I like the soft better its just not as oily.

      Thank you all

      • Guest

In order to use both coupons, you would have to buy at least $18 worth of Tide ($10 worth and $8 worth)

    • MelindaM

Just got 4 tins of Nivea creme @ .99 each and received $8 ecb back!!!

    • Angela golobay

Can anyone tell me prices on Physicians formula?  Is it $7 off anything?  I thought I read on the free Cortaid/Nivea link above this under comments that someone said the foundation is on sale for $7.79 and then you get $7 off.  Is that true?  Is it $7 off any PF above $7???

      • ericswifeowensmom

it is $7 off any PF. I bought an eyebrightener for 1.49 and a concealer duo for .79 after the $7 savings. I didn’t see foundation that cheap though.

        • Angela golobay

OK thanks!  And does the 1.49 and 0.79 amount count towards the gas card or is it the amount before $7 off?

          • Guest

The $7 off is a sale price so the sale price is what shows on the receipt.  If the item was originally $7.79, it shows $.79 on the receipt and counts as $.79 towards the gas card promotion.  It also only counts $.79 towards the Beauty Club if you are a member.

            • Angela golobay

ok that’s what I thought….thanks so much for confirming!

So the physicans formula products are $7 off…like a clearance price? And family srill pair it with the $1 off q?

      • Watts_coupons

        And can I pair*

        • No it’s a sale, you can pair it. I got a $15 dollar coupon out of the red box today for Physicans formula also =)

          • Watts_coupons

The coupon for $15 came out if the red box dcs rental or the coupon machine ?

            • Cyndi

It comes out of the redbox coupon machine that is inside the cvs.

Also look for a display of physicians formula makeup. 3 cvs  near me had a display and some of the items had $3peelies. (the ph lipgloss was one of them and some of the other ph things.. I got about 10 lipglosses for free!! they were $9.99 minus the $7 off for the sale is $2.99 and then minus the $3 coupons.. FREE…

      • Tanya

Thank you so much! I was able to score a similar deal! I got 7 lipglosses & 3 mascaras for $9.99 minus the $7 off for the sale & then minus the $3.00 peelies…so FREE plus earned a $10.00 shell gas card! in the same transaction I was also able to redeem my cortaid cvs coupon & manufacturer coupon…cortaid was $5.99…minus $5.99 cvs coupon & $1.00 manufacturer coupon…so $1.01 moneymaker!!! I also purchased 4 Niveas for a total of $3.96…after the overage from the make-up & cortaid…my total was $2.86…then I had $3.00 ECB I used…they adjusted it down to $2.86 for me so I wouldn’t have to get a filler item! My subtotal was then 0.00…paid 3.59 tax & walked out of there with $8.00 ECB from the Niveas plus the gas card! Oh and I should be getting my $5.00 ECB from the Beauty Club, because before this purchase i was only $6 away from it!

    • Ella_sinder

Question: Will the 3-day gas promo run into the 4 day gas promo? I mean, if I have $15 towards a gas card will that be cleared come wednesday? or on thursday, will another $15 get me a gas card?

      • mrn1

I was wondering the same thing.

      • mrn1

I was wondering the same thing.

      • Susandtim

I would assume that you must hit that $30 within that three day period or you lose the part that you’ve earned. I don’t know for sure. I have $15 towards the gas card and I’m going to make sure I finish by Wednesday just to be sure!

        • Ceerrogers

Wouldn’t you have to finish by Wednesday. I was also wondering about this.

          • Ceerrogers

            I meant Tuesday, not Wednesday

            • Susandtim

Ooh I think you’re right! Three day sale would end Tuesday! So glad you said that!

    • So proud of my deals tonight!
Transaction 1: Hydro silk razor $9.49 + Nivea creme $0.99. Used $4 razor cpn, $5 CVS razor cpn, and $1.50 quarterly ECB. Paid $0.63 OOP, got back $3 ECB (unfortunately the Nivea ECBs didn’t print for me).
Transaction 2: Hair Clips $4.19 + Conair Hairbrush $6.99 + $0.33 candy (filler). Used $1 CVS hair accessory cpn, $3 ECB from previous transaction, $4 ECB from last week and 30% off loaded to card (-$3.16). Paid $0.86 OOP, got back $5 ECBs.
Started out with $4 ECBs. Paid $1.49 total OOP. Left with $5 ECBs.
      Definitely my best trip yet!

    • ash in austin

Can someone tell me what time these sales start? Is it midnight on the first day of the ad? There’s 3 CVS stores near me and they are always out of stock on the good deals. It sucks when I waste gas to drive to all three stores and end up with nothing.

      • Edie Mac

Sometimes the stores will let you get the deals on Saturday night before the ad starts on Sunday as well as giving you the ads for the week just ending.  Unfortunately, depending on whether your store is high volume or mid to low, the items are often stocked sparingly and sometimes if it is low volume they don’t get their shipment at all.  My favorite store is very nice and gets frustrated when those deals don’t show up on the truck.  I just try to get rainchecks and hope they restock before the coupon expires.

    • Paulah

I’m really new to all of this, can someone explain to me why you couldn’t use 4- $2 off any Hair Care product cvs and 2- $3/2 Pantene products to make it free?

      • Jessica

The $2 off any hair care coupon is printing from the coupon machine – you will only get one of them.

        • VP22

That’s not true. I scanned my card 5 times last week and each time I got a $2 off coupon.

          • Lorrose57

I went almost every day last week and scanned my cards…. the $2 off of shampoo etc works with the travel sizes, too… I got the Nexus mousse and hairspray and used it in conjunction with the 30% off coupons on non sale items that I got emailed to me….so they were .10 each…. great deal…. got about 15 of them for 1.50!

      • VP22

        You can. I did. I had 5 of the cvs ones. I bought 6 Pantenes for $19.50. I used 3 $3/2 maun q’s and the 5 $2 cvs q’s. Paid .50 and got $19.50 towards gas card.

      • Paulah

Thanks! Yeah I scanned my card 4 times last week and got one every time! Will CVS give you overage towards something else in same transaction?

    • Tiffanyemerson33

What is “hair notion”? Is that a product or another word for accessory?

      • Soberkitty

        Yes

      • Sheila_P

It’s the CVS term for hair accessory. The coupon will work well with the ecb deal this week on Conair and Scuncii.

      • Tiffanywmerson33

i feel so stupid i threw mine away last week i thought it was a brand

    • Ella_sinder

my “amount needed to earn reward” for beauty club has not budged in MONTHS even though i make a bunch of beauty purchases. Does this happen to anyone else? and does anyone know why or when it will catch up?

Call customer service and make sure your card is active. Otherwise it’s something else.

      • Spi_cy13

It doesn’t count towards trial and travel size items, so make sure that your beauty purchases are the full size items.

why do I see coupons listed as PG07/01? I didn’t think there were coupons this weekend?!

      • Sheila_P

There was a P&G insert only but it works great with the gas card scenarios at CVS this week. Jenny gives the insert previews a couple of days before the inserts come out so we know what to expect.

        • Laura

Well darn, there wasn’t a P&G in my free paper so I didn’t bother going to the store for more papers. I looked up a schedule for inserts online and it said none for this weekend :/

Try checking with WalMart. Many of them sell the Sunday paper all week long (although even though mine says it does they often sell out by Monday).

          • Cbrumbeloe10

We go to our local newspaper office if we need to get extra papers.  They have up to 3 to 4 weeks previous still for sale at the front desk.

Can anyone show a scenario for the Febreeze sale? Can the $5/5 q be used with the other, smaller amount Febreeze qs?

      • Guest

No, the $5/5 coupon cannot be used with the smaller amount Febreeze coupons.  You can use one manufacturer’s coupon per item.  The $5/5 coupon covers FIVE items.

    • andi330

Got a $5 off Schick Hydro Women’s Silk Razor today out of the CVS coupon machine. Add that to the man q listed above and your razor is free + profit with the ECBs! Wahoo!

Edit: Or maybe not. Looks like the man q doesn’t include the Silk. But it makes it less than the man q deal.

I am new to couponing.  I got two Pantene shampoo’s, 4 Gillette body washes, 4 Old Spice washes, and 2 Cover Girl foundations.  After coupons and 10 ECB I paid 25.02 and got 2 ten dollar gas cards back.  So i was only out of pocket 5.02.  :)

    • Mcleodsc

just looked at the ad that starts today, July 4th. It is only two pages and I don’t see anything new.

      • Debi12167

         I know! Stinky 4 day ad.  :(

    • PaulaH

Does anybody know why the mcm was giving me tons of awesome coupons last week and now this week I’m only getting the same two every day? It’s only my second week doing this so not sure if that’s just something it does?

      • VP22

I think it might just be a slow week. I have been couponing for awhile and last week I got the mother load of coupons all week long but this week, besides the free Cortaid, it was pretty slow.

Same here. CVS may not have been expecting a lot of shoppers during the holiday week and held back on big offers. Maybe next week we’ll be buried under all the coupon offers again!

    • Debi12167

Duh!!! I forgot I had the 3 day ad!!  Someone gave me a bunch of the $3 peelies for the phyisicians formula last night at the fireworks and I can’t use them!! :(   Well, at least they don’t expire until Dec. so hopefully will go on sale again…

      • KatherineMC

Cashier should only take peelies if attached to the products. But there always are people out there doing unethical things…

        • ElizabethII

I disagree. Just because you have the peelie and it is not attached to the product, one should not assume that you have done something unethical. I often do not use a peelie when it is attached to a product I purchase because I have a coupon for a greater amount and save the peelie for a later purchase. Or the peelie may be a $off of the purchase of 2 and I am purchasing just one so I save it for later.

          • KatherineMC

Have you ever seen a Physician’s Formula coupon that’s value is greater than $3?  Whoever has whole bunch of those are the one who peeled them off at store without purchasing the actual products, or she would have used all those coupons because THERE’S NOT A $4 COUPON OUT THERE. There’s a reason peelies are attached to products, and that is it’s designed specifically for that item and not for you to use at another time. Stores often put peelies on items that expiring soon and it’s not ok to peel those off and save it for later just because you have a greater coupon right now.

    • Crimsonlovesyou

I do not understand this CVS week at ALL. I got the 3 day sale ad. So I’m just out of luck the rest of the week for these deals?

      • Angela golobay

No you can do the 4 day ad starting Wednesday, which is basically the same ad as the 3 day ad with some things eliminated.

    • Angela golobay

I tried the Nivea tin last night and the Extrabucks didn’t print (in MS), and it did 2 days ago, so I gues they did fix that where it wouldn’t print anymore. Also FYI, if your CVS is out of Cortaid or doesn’t carry it like mine, you can get the 1 oz. Cortizone 10 creme and the coupon will work no problem. It is $5.99 so the coupon went through without beeping and he put in $5.99. Also the gas card scenario carries on through the week even though the ad may change mid week. I panicked last night because I needed to spend $7 more to get my gas card and thought I couldn’t get my gas card today due to the new ad.  But I spent $7 on something from the new ad and it added to my other amount and printed the gas card coupon.

    • Sswhite30277

Did anyone notice the ss 6/10 Nivea lotion coupon for $1 off including sizes 1 oz. – 16 oz. That made the 1 oz. tin free!  I wasn’t able to score the $2 ECB, but I did get the Nivea tin for free!

    • HeatherM221

In the intro paragraph Jenny says if you get the 3-day sale and then the 4-day sale you would get in your page flyer a 20% shopping pass.  I did not see this when I went into my store yesterday.  Did anyone else see this?

      • Guest

Coupon was in the delivered newspaper CVS ad.  It’s not in the in-store ad.

    • Spi_cy13

Does anyone know where the 20% off shopping pass is found (whether it’s in the ad or at the magical coupon printing machine)? Also, if anyone has received it, does anyone know when it expires? I’m hoping to use it for next weeks ad, but I need to make sure first…

      • Guest

The coupon was in the CVS ad that was in the newspaper.  It’s not in the store ad and it’s not printing at the coupon center.  It expires July 7 (Sat)

        • Spi_cy13

Is the 20% off coupon a regional coupon? I looked in the CVS ad from the Tennessean and Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspapers, and I didn’t see it.

    • wstrait432

Anyone know if I purchased $7.00 over on the gas card deal on Monday with the 3 day ad if I can use that $7.00 toward another gas card deal in the 4 day ad?

      • Sarahbeth1210

I have read yes.  I am going tomorrow to try.  I had 4. something carry over.

      • June Brownlee

I was able to do this today :)

    • Denise

Can someone tell me if I buy Charmin and Bounty for the $10 gas card is that a good deal?  I can never tell with those 2 items because there are so many different sizes.  It always feels like they are smaller when I get them at the drugstore vs Publix.  It never feels like a good deal but maybe it is….any help??

      • lil A’s mom

i try to get paper towels less than .50 a roll and tp less than .35 a roll

    • So I went today to CVS looking just for a few things I needed and I believe I did good. I am still new at this so still learning:

      4 Head & Shoulders (2-in-1) sale 2/$9
      2 Dawn 97 cents
2 Febreze set and refresh 2.99 each
1 cornuts bag 77 cents (I love these so I had to)

      coupons:
2 B1G1 Free Head & Shoulders Manufacturer qs
2 -$1 off Febreze set and reset
2- 25cents off Dawn dish soap

      – 50 cents ECB spring spendings

      Total OOP: 15.10
      – ($10 gas card)

      Total spent: $5.10 =)

I am so proud of myself! (Unfortunately the cashier caught on that the H&S was a B1G1 or else I would have gotten all of the shampoos for Free =( )

    • Betty D

Did my first CVS deal today (only couponing for 2 weeks now; no cpn stockpile yet).  Here’s my deal:
      Bought:  4 Pantene shampoo/conditioners 2/$6.50 = $13.00
                   8 Covergirl eyeshadows B1G1, $3.89ea = $23.34
      Less:  (2) $3/2 Pantene MQ’s & (4) $3/2 Covergirl MQ’s = ($18.00)
                $4/$20 CVS cpn
      Oop:  $16.60 (after tax)
      Rebates:  $10 gas card
      Total cost:  $6.60

If my spreadsheet is right, this is 86% savings!  I thought I would get the $10/$20 Covergirl rebate, but after getting home, I saw where eyeshadows are not a qualifying product.  (Does anyone know if the rebate might still work?)  Not as big of a score as I had originally thought (when I thought rebate applied), but still……not too bad!  Have noticed that the employees do not like this, though.

      • Trish

Great job!  Looks like your off to a great start!  Welcome to the wonderful world of CVS!!!!!!

    • Kellyhouse67

Just got back from CVS. Coke products includes the Dr. Pepper for .79 for a 2 liter. Bought 2, used $1 off 2 coupon. .29 not bad for soda :)

      • Tshockley1

where did your get $1 off 2 coupon?

        • Debi12167

It was in the 6/24 ss here…

    • Debi12167

I went and bought the Head and shoulders and forgot that it was in the special 3 day add… :(  I did not get them free but still a good deal!! It took the full $9.49 off and they were $5.79 each..

      • Jen

So the deal on the super cheap H&S is a no go? Boo! I was gonna head out to cvs today

        • Debi12167

If you are in an area that has the full add then it’s problably OK.. I unfortunately have the 3 day ad and now the 4 day ad so it’s not in mine.. I am in Rhode Island..

          • Jen

Argh… we got the same split ad. Sigh..

    • Guest

I really hope CVS doesn’t continue with this crazy ad stuff. I didn’t get a newspaper this week therefore I don’t have the ad or 20% off coupon. So since I don’t know what ad is running here, I just won’t shop at CVS this week.

    • Ugadoll84

I am very new to couponing! Just got my CVS card the other day and dont have any ECB. I made such a rookie mistake! I bought a couple of products that I thought would give me $8 ECB back! But the special was only from Sunday-Tuesday!! Ahhh! So I spent more than planned!!
