Kroger Logo

Here are all the deals starting Sunday 2/3 at Kroger. There is no Mega Event this week, but they are running a 50% off sale. I’ve gone ahead and put the items in the main category that you would find them in the store to make shopping easier.

Heads up: In case you haven’t heard Kroger corporate announced this week that the Ohio region stores would no longer double coupons. That makes for two regions now (Texas and Ohio) that have made the switch. So far in the south there is no talk of stopping doubles. Many of you have asked for my take… while I do not pretend to know corporates plans I can tell you from a marketing stand point in the south east it would be a bad move. Most every grocery store in the south east doubles coupons so for Kroger to stop they would no longer be competitive with other stores. Outside of the south east though, very few stores double coupons so the need to continue is not as great.  We’ll have to just wait and see what happens and continue to enjoy doubles for now.

My store had a big basket of Plum Organics on clearance for .49 cents. That makes them free plus with the coupon. Grayson, GA

      • Cathy

That’s sad, now it will make more sense to shop at Walmart, there price is usually lower, you’ll save more with your coupon.

      • ant0288

some stores do not take coupons on clearance items, so this is a mileage may vary situation. some ring them up as clearance and not as a product thus the coupon doesnt work.

    • jende

I had not heard that the Ohio region will stop doubling coupons. I live in southern Ohio and there has not been any signs up in the stores or on the ads. This is aweful for us we only have Kroger, Walmart and IGA to choose from. Does anyone know when the change will take place?

Ruined my day too! For I live in southern Ohio also. I haven’t heard anything or seen any signs either. At least I ended on a good week with them last week. There is a Meijers nearby that doubles for me though. Good luck.

      • mbschwartz

March 1st. It was on the news here in Cincinati

    • tim

Don’t know if all Meijer stores double, but in Louisville they do. Might be an option in Ohio.

      • Mandy

The ones in Dayton, OH do. Seems like that’s where I’ll be taking my business now.

        • devgwen

The Meijers in my area (Cincinnati) only double the first 2 like coupons.

    • jeff

Speak up raise holy he–. Do it on facebook and everywhere else you can think of. They tried this in arizona not to long ago guess what there stores were empty and enough people complained that doubles were quickly restored! Good luck!

When I read the online article I quickly headed to my local Kroger here in eastern Tennessee, Knoxville. They said yes there is going to be a change to their coupon policy. Although they would not tell me What is going to happen they did confirm what I asked. They pretty much are doing the exact same as in Ohio. They are just not telling when it will start up at the stores here. They are doubling the gas points now and I believe next will be the lowering of prices or stopping the coupon doubling will come next. The only thing is for sure is it will happen here and they have no intention of telling us when it will start.

      • Courtney B.

:( I live in Knoxville too. Sad news.

      • Jan

I wonder if the Knoxville stores will be able to weather this change with publix now giving them a run for their money as well as aldi and trader joe. They are no longer up against Walmart and Food City.

    • gmcouponer

Yes it is going to happen here in East Tennessee also. I asked the Kroger in my local area and they said yes. It will be just as Ohio’s change.

    • ckjr61

happening here in Tennessee s.oon we are told by our local Kroger

    • Savannah Coupone

So sad. Same news here in Savannah, GA. Kroger stores in Savannah, GA will not double coupons soon. Heard the news on the radio and they say they will announce the date.

      • Mommyof1

Really? We live in Rincon – I already posted we rarely use coupons at Kroger since Publix is cheaper on non-fresh items.. Our Kroger doesn’t double their own coupons though! We receive them in the mail as a “best customer” and realized as of a few months ago that they no longer double them, even if under $.50! Yet, I can take their brand coupons, buy Publix brand, and they double them. This will be a bad move on Krogers in this area, imo.

      • beenaka

I hope it doesn’t trickle down here to Waycross. I haven’t seen nor heard anything about it. We only have WalMart, Kroger, and Harvey’s…not much to choose from as it is.

    • Lindsey

Kroger will suffer some in my town if they do not double since Publix is right up the road from them…and Publix takes store coupons AND doubles coupons…so if Kroger stops…I will move most of my shopping to Publix. I sure hope Kroger thinks this over…

    • Butterfinger_55

Fiber One Cereal, 11.7-16.2 oz, $1.72..Really glad to see this on sale…The only cereal hubby will eat.As for Kroger’s going to stop doubling.I live in Tn. and I will stop buying as much as I do now if they stop doubling..I am very frugal & know exactly which store is cheapest for items I use & need.Kroger wins with sales and double coupons on alot of items but only because they double. If it stops, I will buy my items at store with the cheapest price.I am sure that many frugal couponers will do the same thing..So I feel that Kroger’s will be doing nothing but hurting their own buss. if they do stop doubling…

    • Linda412

I am from Tx were they no longer double. I was furious! I boycotted for a year. I am lucky enough to have tom thumb & Albertsons that double. I am now back at Kroger for every mega sale! Our prices are usually lower than other cities. Yes we get less small things for free but everyday things are less. It won’t be as horrible as you’d expect!

      • jmmac

I am in TX too. The stores here stopped doubling for a while and then started again. This is very confusing. Wonder if my stores will stop again and when. HEB just came out with online coupons this week so I may be shopping more there now.

      • michelle

I live in Texas and they double and triple here. So, it’s not everywhere.

        • Nymomnfla

I live in Houston, Texas and they do not double or triple coupons for more than a year now. You are lucky to still have it!

    • Mommyof1

I hope they dont stop doubling- but honestly, I can find cheaper items for bogo at publix and they double (and take other manufacturer coupons – including kroger ones). We mainly shop Kroger for their dairy products, bread, produce, and kroger brand frozen veggies.. Which rarely have coupons anyways.

    • mom

I don’t shop much at Kroger only for fruit and vegies they good at sometimes. and if they do that here at bluffton I think they going to be empty because I rally prefer publix even if they don’t double I love theirs bogos and they are very coupon friendly the fact that you can stack manufacturer and stores is amazing and always got free or very cheap items at publix plus their service is great where shopping really is a pleasure which is not the Kroger case their service is horrible, don’t like Kroger much!

    • Lisa

I really get better deals for most things at Publix but still buy some things from Kroger. In our area, they don’t have the greatest of service, unfriendly managers & customer service but if they don’t double coupons they will sink!

      • K Fox

        I agree!

      • MOM

        I agree too!

    • nwaterbugz

I shop the Kroger stores in the Raleigh/Durham region only when a deal is a good deal. They are already dissapointing to me that they only double up to .50 and within a mile I can hit a Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods that will double up to .99 EVERYDAY. And not mention they also hold Super Double and Triples events. Then compact that with fact I have had more issues with the cashiers at Kroger who are not properly trained with the coupon acceptance policies. Kroger is NOT a coupon friendly company so I typically weigh my options of do I feel like spending my time educating the cashier on the posted policy. EXAMPLE: I hand them 5 coupons and the cashier hands me back 3 and tells me “I cant take these” I ask “why is that” and he says “Oh we can only take 2 coupons. And I point to the signage that clearly states NO MORE THAN 5 LIKE COUPONS. And his response is I didnt know that….. So I am not impressed with their customer service then add the fact that want to take away the doubling bonus. Why should I stop by their store? Kroger needs to listen to ALL of their customers in in ALL regions. Restore doubling! I am sorry for the people who are already impacted by difficult times and need this added bonus.

    • gingerinCA

They stopped doubling out here in California a year or so ago. Of course, I complained, but the standard corporate answer was that we would notice “everyday lower prices” all over the store. I must say, this is true. Nevertheless, I can get lower prices on most things at the 99 Cent store, or ethnic markets. Ralphs (Kroger) only gets a visit when they have a really good Mega sale. Enjoy your doubles as long as you can! :)

    • salt247

I believe in the power of the consumer!! We Find the best price for the items we need. I have stopped shoping at krogers because of their coupon policy and the quality of their produce was poor!

    • MeMe

Awhile ago, Kroger advised they would start doing this … I along with plenty of others, flooded their Facebook page and there was even a “special” page created, to voice our opinions. I just went to their Facebook page and Twitter account, to once again tell them this will surely hurt them in the long run. If they do this here in Georgia, Publix will be more than happy, to take their business. Plus, Target and Walmart are always within driving distance. Bad move Kroger.

    • dtcox1

in v a the med eggs are .99 and lg 18 eggs are 1.99

    • Jess

I really hope Kroger doesn’t stop doubling….in my area they’re isn’t a lot of options for groceries besides Kroger and Walmart anyway

    • Melissa

Just fyi on the free movie ticket wyb GM cereals….unless, they’ve updated it (which I don’t think they have, considering the promo started only a month or two ago), it says you can USE the movie ticket up till 2/28,, but had to be PRINTED By Dec 2012

I wish the General Mills CHEX cereal would be included in the sale.
It never is at my store.

    • Olga

There is a mistake with Pepperidge thing. The sheets cost around 4.50 dollars. They are not 1.37. There is no way you can make the total .37 cents. I went this morning. :-(

    • tracy

My Kroger had peelies on the Green Giant frozen boxed vegs. One dollar off 3, so 67 cents each.

    • couponbug

We only have Kroger and Walmart…no Publix, Meijer, IGA, Tom Thumb, Albertson’s, or Harvey’s. We had Albertson’s for a while, but they didn’t last. Kroger took that building and now we have 2 Kroger stores. I think that is ridiculous! We soooo much need some competition in this area in Northeast MS. I really hope our local Kroger doesn’t cease to double. I noticed many times that our local prices are higher than other areas that Jenny lists on here. We need all the help we can get!!!

I loaded the Perdue Short Cuts ecoupon and the register didn’t take it off, the cashier said that it must have expired or I didn’t download it. I double checked when I got home and it was loaded and doesn’t expire until 4-29. Is there a # that I can call.

Print Preview – What happened to my “Print Preview” button under the File button on the Southern Savers website? It appears on other Internet Explorer ver 10 tabs or windows, but disappears when I am on the Southern Savers website. Thanks for the help!

    • michelle

I am in Texas and our store doubles AND triples, so not sure where she’s getting her info. Apparently, it’s not ALL of Texas!

      • aria

i live in flower mound tx and they stopped doubling long time ago.

    • Ellie

I was told by the store manager in Richmond, VA that they are doing away with doubles too. He said that they are going to “increase” the fuel points. Said that most people told Kroger that they would rather have fuel points over double coupons. BOO!

    • gmcouponer

Headed to my Kroger today to see if I can get the Manager to talk to me about any of this change headed our way here in Knoxville Tn. Maybe I will have better news. I will post what I find out, if I can get some answers form them. They are very nice about talking to their customers. Wish us here in Knoxville luck maybe we will be one of the stores to get overlooked with this no doubling rule.

    • ank220

There is a coupon for $1 off of Seapak Shrimp Scampi on coupons.com. Does anyone have an idea how much these cost? Thank you very much.

    • kim

I live in Middle TN. My Kroger cant compare to Publix. Stores are dirty and customer service is terrible. I found this out as I fell and broke my foot really bad. After awhile I missed couponing and went out to do in a wheel chair. At PUBLIX, they offered each time I come to call and they brought a riding cart to my car, had someone help me shop and of course put everything in the car. Each week when I went back not one but several people offered help. At Krogers couldnt get them to help at all. Riding carts were not charged ran out of battery several times, had to ask them to help take bags to car and they werent happy. For the first time my husband had to shop with me he loved PUBLIX and told me we didnt need anything that bad that we would have to go to Kroger. Morale of this story we have survived not shopping at Kroger unless it is a really good deal and dont miss the headache

    • Janice

The Kroger that I go to (in Alabama) does not double coupons. I never noticed until this week when I checked my receipt.
