Can you purchase ten items in one transaction and get 2 $5 off? Do I need to purchase separately? Can they be mix and match?

      • Tiffany

you should be able to, and you should be able to mix and match.

      • Jessica

yes, you can purchase up to 20 items and get 4 catalinas, however, there is a limit of 4 catalinas per transaction. You can mix and match any of the participating items but must buy in sets of 5 to get the catalinas. So for example if you buy 9 items you’ll only get one catalina for $5. Hope that helps!

        • Lynn

So if I buy 30 items then I would have to separate it into 2 transactions?

          • Yup!

Edit: Just wanted to add that in my shopping trip today I had 25 participating items and broke them into 2 transactions. All 5 catalinas printed out fine!

            • Laura

Will they continue printing if you break it into groups of 5 to limit the out of pocket? Buy 5, then buy 5 and use the cat from the 1st, then repeat? I read somewhere else that they wouldn’t roll. ??

            • I had 5 rewards and broke it into 2 transactions without a problem. It should be fine do roll them as many times as you want!

    • tricia

When I went to link for first Reese’s cereal I found a bonus there is a coupon for .50 on 2 Progresso soups. You will need to sign up if not already done.

    • Michelle Y

I didn’t see it on the list, but I also have a $0.75 Saving Star ecoupon for Cheerios Crunch Medley cereal, which should make it free when combined with the $0.75 printable or Kroger ecoupon.

    • Michelle Y

I didn’t see it on the list, but I also have a $0.75 Saving Star ecoupon for Cheerios Crunch Medley cereal, which should make it free when combined with the $0.75 printable or Kroger ecoupon.

    • Terhia Nichole Russell

I was wondering what Kroger region you are in for these prices Jenny (or others)? There is a lot of variation in prices here I guess (Louisville midsouth), which stinks! I was so ready to get the Betty Crocker Fruit snacks for .25 and.50 a box, and also the general mills cereals for .50 a box and make money with the catalina back. But I can’t now :-( Our prices are a dollar higher on each of those products. Also the totinos pizzas I was gonna get for free, I’ll get for around .95. Still a decent deal but not as good as I was planning. Happy couponing and get those good deals for those of you within that region! Happy couponing!

      • pdsmama

If you are needing to know your region, let us know where you are located and someone will fill you in. The prices ROCK this week.

        • Terhia Nichole Russell

I looked closer Mira and you were right about that! Do you all have the .88 pills bury items there? We don’t have those. Dang it! Lol. Have a great day!

          • pdsmama

Once you find out your region, don’t read the other region’s deals. Nashville is Louisville Region. I don’t know what the 1st sentence meant.

          • I just got back from my Kroger and the Pillsbury Breakfast items were $1.88, which makes them 88¢ after the catalina. $1.88 is the regular price at my store!

        • Terhia Nichole Russell

There are some good deals pdsmama! I’m still new to figuring out the online stuff. We usually just use coupons from Sunday paper but this is pretty cool. We are in Brandenburg, ky. Louisville is about 30 minutes northeast of us. So I thought its Louisville mid south region? If different lemme know. Thanks!sorry btw, Mira sent me a message earlier and I guess it posted to you lol

      • The prices are based on the Southeast region, I think.

And please don’t shoot me, but I noticed that you said all of the items are $1 higher than listed. The prices posted are AFTER the catalina savings, because it’s basically $1 off each item. Maybe that’s the difference?

        • Terhia Nichole Russell

I think it says 1.50 before the Catalina or coupons on the site cuz it says final price is .50. Ours start at 2.50 each then .50 coupon which makes it 1.50 each.but you know what I guess you could be right cuz if you take off the dollar beforehand from the Catalina it would be about.50 each. I was thinking 1.50 each then dollar off after doubled coupon which would be paying 2.50 and getting 5.00 back, a moneymaker of 2.50 on each five that you buy.thanks for your insight on that! The fruit snacks and there’s no Catalina on so that I believe Is the difference in pricing. Ours are 2/4$ and totinos 4/5$

          • I thought that might be the case! ^_^ At my Kroger the Fruit Snacks were $2 and the Pizza was also 4/$5. It’s the catalinas that make it a good deal!

You can roll them from across multiple transactions to get them to pay for the next group of items. Today I broke my purchase up into 3 transactions, so it went like this:

            Trans 1
            6 Boxes Fruit Snacks
            4 Progresso Soup
after coupons, total OOP (out of pocket) was $12.98, got back $10 in catalinas

            Trans 2
            9 Totino Pizzas
            4 Boxes Fruit Snacks
2 Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad (participating item!)
after coupons, total was $16.65. Used the $10 in catalinas from trans 1 to bring my OOP to $6.65. Got back $15 in catalinas!

            Trans 3
Rest of my groceries. Used the $15 from trans 2 to pay. Walked out with no more catalina money left, but I prefer doing that. Otherwise I tend to lose the catalinas. *^_^*

            • Terhia Nichole Russell

              Mira,

The ecoupon for kroger and the saving star coupon you can do together? I saw a post about that but didnt realize that could be done. Would u clarify please how to do that? I’ve got all of the coupons printed out or loaded to my card.

            • Tammy

If you have the savings star coupons loaded to your card, yes you can do both. Savingstar doesn’t come off at the register, however. You will see it deposited into your savingstar account. It’s been my experience that Kroger takes the longest to make their deposits however. You just can’t use paper and ecoupon.. it will beep and they will let you know you have them loaded already. Hope that helps

            • Terhia Nichole Russell

thank you tammy! I wasn’t sure how all that worked. Now I see how the saving star thing works. I was puzzled at first cuz I knew that Kroger only accepts one form of coupon at a time for each item. Now I see where you are coming from though. I’m trying to do the online thing some, and I signed up for saving star but didn’t fully realize how it worked. I’ll get the hang of it soon I’m sure. Just gotta get the ins and outs of everything squared away Normally I just use paper as I was telling Mira earlier. I guess it’s just been easier for me that way since I just now got a laptop and printer at home. Ready to save some more now!

            • Tammy just covered it. ^_^ You can stack with Savingstar AND Ibotta coupons, though it’s rare for both of them to apply on the same products. You just can’t stack an eCoupon with a paper coupon.

            • Bridget Smith

I’m new to the site. I have (4) 1/3 totinos pizza coupon. Do I need to do separate transactions to get a good deal on the pizzas,or how should I do. The pizzas in my ad are 3for4 with krogers card.

            • Bridget Smith

I just came back from kroger, and I end up getting 16 pizzas for $7.50. I did 3 transactions.

              Transaction 1

              6 totinos pizzas

              used 2-1/3pizzas

              (paid 6.24)

              got back a 5.00 catalina

              Transaction 2

              6 totinos pizzas

              used 2-1/3pizzas

              (used 5.00catalina)
              paid 1.24
              got back a $5.00 catalina

              Transaction 3
              4 totinos pizza
total came out to be 4.50
              used 5.00(Free)

total trip was $7.50 for 16 pizzas

            • Whoops. Just saw that you already went. *^_^* Sorry that I was too late!

            • If you have other groceries to get, I would put your pizzas in one transaction, get the catalinas, and then pay for the rest of your groceries with those catalinas. That’s the easiest thing to do. ^_^

But if you’re only going for pizzas, I suggest buying 15 pizzas and doing 2 transactions. The best way I can figure will cost you $11 OOP but you’ll have $10 in catalinas leftover.

              Transaction 1:
5 pizzas, use (1) $1/3 off, makes it $5.66 plus $5 catalina back

              Transaction 2:
10 pizzas, use (3) $1/3 off and the $5 catalina, makes it $5.33 plus $10 in catalinas.

Essentially that makes it $1 for 15 pizzas. If you buy 12 pizzas with the coupons (and don’t have 3 more items to trigger a catalina) then it’s $2 for 12 pizzas.

            • anna marie

if you buy 15 in one transaction and if the coupon do not have a limit on them and you can get another coupon you could use 5-$1/3 coupons for a better deal.

    • Amie

I was disappointed with the cereals that were included… no cinnamon toast crunch, no Reese’s, no honey nut Cheerios. I bought 3 chocolate fiber one and 1 multigrain Cheerios. I was hoping to stock up on kid’s cereal. Otherwise,it rocked. I bought 18 totinos for free, 12 progreso for free, 6 fruit snacks for .25 per box. My oop was around $16, (i used $9 oyno cats) but I ended w/ $20 in catalinas. strangely the Catalina’s printed w/no bar codes so they entered them manually.

    • coupon mom

I don’t mind it when Jenny puts the price after savings if that is really what it will ring up at register, but the way you wrote it this week is very misleading. For example, I can use $1/3 coupon for totinos but it is still still going to be 2.99 out of pocket for those three pizzas until the catilinas print out. I recognize this, although it is very aggrevating, people new to the site do not understand it.

    • mtbgal23

Kroger no longer doubles coupons, at least not in my area (Roanoke, VA). Needless to say, I am very aggravated by this and wish we had more options! Kroger & Food Lion are really my only choices, and now they both stink big time!

      • mel1

I hear ya… I’m in central VA and my Kroger just closed. Now I have Food Lion and Walmart. :(

    • JenniferW

Quick question: I know that Kroger doubles up to a dollar. Does that mean that a .75 coupon will actually be $1? I understand that .50 will be $1 but didn’t know about anything above .50 like the .75 or .55 and so forth. Thanks!:)

      • The doubling depends on the region, as a lot of Krogers don’t double anymore at all. BUT if yours does, it should double any coupons that are 50¢ or less. Coupons above 50¢ are taken at face value.

        • Joni

My store in Tenneesse actually doubles up to .60.

          • Fascinating! So it really might vary from store to store. o_O

          • MariaJ

what part of TN are you in Joni? Im I middle TN and mine only double up to 50c

    • guest

Be sure that your GM calalina print. I bought 20 items today and none of mine printed. The CS rep told me that has happened several times today.

      • That sucks. >_< I watched like a hawk and all of mine printed, but they didn't have barcodes so the cashier had to enter them manually on my next transaction.

      • Mine didn’t print either and I had to wait in line at the customer service for like 20 minutes (with a baby that was tired of being in the grocery store).. She got the catalinas to print and I went back to finish checking out. (I did the get $5 off stuff first so I could use on the rest of my groceries)

They didn’t have a barcode on them and we had to have a manager come over… the coupons didn’t work (not even for when the manager plugged in the numbers) but since I had JUST gotten them at the CS desk, the manager worked some magic and my receipt printed out as $5.00 off free bacon – twice.

Good Grief… if I had known it was going to be such a hassle, I would have skipped the $5 off items – or at least had my mom watch my son while I did the shopping.

    • juanita

I went to Krogers today, but didn’t have any Fruit Roll Up coupons, so I thought I would go back later this week. I went down that isle anyway and saw the price on the shelf tag was $2.99, which would put it at $1.99 after cat. The price in my ad was $1.99. Will they honor their ad price? Or say it was a typo?

      • So far, whenever I’ve had the aisle price not match the ad price, it always rings up as the ad price. I can only assume they didn’t update the sales tag.

Even so, I keep the ad in my hand when it comes time to check out, just in case it doesn’t ring up correctly.

    • SmoochTheCook

So, if we buy 20 items in our first transaction, 4 $5 cat. coupons will print? I’m used to catalinas that make you do each in a separate transaction. And, can you use all 4 $5 cat. coupons in a second transaction?

      • Amie

Yes, but my cats printed w/no bar codes so the cashier had to enter them manually.

    • Stephanie

Do these catalina coupons roll? Can I do one transaction of General Mills products, get my catalina coupon, ring up another order of General Mills products, use the first coupon and still get another?

      • Amie

Yes. Roll away. The only issue I had was that the cats are printing w/no barcode so the cashier needed to manually enter the coupons. No big deal,

    • Amie

I love this sale. It is a great time for me to stock up and what I bought will last me mos. I did 6 transactions (not back to back) and bought: 26 Suddenly Salad, 18 Totinos, 14 assorted cereal, 8 Brownie mixes, 1 cake mix, 1 frosting, 12 Progresso, 8 GG Veggie Snacks, 6 Chex Mix, 26 Fruit Snacks and paid around $30 after catalinas, coupons, and saving star. My big splurge was spending over $11 on fruit snacks which will be rationed out to my kids. I’ll use my remaining catalinas to buy dairy, meat, and produce this week so I should be able to stay within budget!

    • Brandy

      What is saving star?

      • Suzanne

Its an online savings program that connects to your store loyalty cards and gives you money back when you buy certain items. http://Www.savingstar.com. HTH:-)

    • Suzanne

Has anyone had the issue of it not printing a catalina at all? I went tonight about 9:30 and bought 20 items, split into two transactions and on the second transaction, I only got one catalina. My recipe plainly states 10 eligible items were purchased, but the cashier was kind of rude so I left and didn’t push the issue. Should I call the store and speak with a manager or call corporate?

      • Jane

Bring in your receipt next time and go to customer service, they will usually fix it for you.

    • Julie

The crest is also on sale and we got a coupon for 50 cents so free if doubled

    • SB

I have heard (through friends that work at Kroger) that they are going to stop doubling coupons soon. Do you have any information regarding this change in policy?

    • SB

I have heard (through friends that work at Kroger) that they are going to stop doubling coupons soon. Do you have any information regarding this change in policy?

      • anna marie

        some states have already stop.

      • MariaJ

what region are you in SB?

    • Martha Thomas

I noticed at my Kroger that a few items technically included in the GM promotion are on closeout (not manager’s special). Does anyone know if purchasing these items would count as one of the five items required for purchase?

    • JenniferW

I’m wondering about the promo. It said ‘limit 4 per transaction’ so does that mean for every 4 promo items I buy I’ll get the $5 catalina? So 4 items would be 1 $5 catalina, 8 items would be 2 $5 catalinas and so forth? Up to 4?? Thanks!

      • MariaJ

        Yes Jennifer, that’s right.

      • Cathy

the promo is for every 5 participating items you buy. You can only receive 4 Catalinas per transaction or no more than 20 participating items in a transaction.
