Slow week indeed. Does anyone know if CVS issued their annual holiday catalog? It’s usually in stores around Thanksgiving but I haven’t found a store that knows anything about it this year.

      • SarahR

I received a mailer from CVS about two weeks ago.  It was a booklet with coloring pages for kids and store coupons for Christmas candy/gum/coke and matchbox cars.  It was not a full glossy catalog though.  Maybe it got to expensive for them to print?

        • Sjwebb4799

How did you get the mailer? I have asked at my local CVS and they know nothing about it.

        • Guest

yes – how did you get the mailer?  what part of the country are you in?

    • Anna

So we can get the $10 gift card on Cokes?  I’m in, and with the $4 off $20 I got in an email today, i think that’s a pretty good deal.

      • Virginia

My ad has a limit of 6, so I have to buy $6 in other gift card eligible items. You might want to double check before you buy.

      • Guest

Yay, I can finally use my coke rewards coupons for free 12pks and have it be applied toward the gift card.  I’m stoked!

    • Ashes

Do you have to purchase all items in one transaction to get the gift card deal or does it track it for you? My store was out of some of the items I wanted so I was going to use two stores.

      • You can do several transactions. It keeps track of your purchases.

    • CYR

Quick question about FORCED PRINT EXTRA CARE BUCKS

When a forced print extra care buck is printed, is it supposed to show the last 4 digits as the same as your EC card?

I have never had to have any force printed before and tonight I had 2 that had to be and neither one of them ended in my card number eventhough I watched her scan my receipt to get them to print…. odd thing is.. the ECB not only do not match my card number, but they don’t even match each other.

      ????

      • Angel

When the extra bucks are forced the amount is rounded and the number is actually the last four digits not counting the little number that is usually the last one.

      • Jennifer

I had to have a force print ecb on the candy canes this week. It had my name at the top, but not my ecb number. I had read somewhere else that another person was having this problem as well.

      • MarySC

It does have your number but it looks different.   If the last 4 of your card is 1234 then on the forced ECB it will show 123  (will not show the last number).  Weird, but it’s always that way.

      • Daymon

Whn they have to manually print you out an ECB for whatever reason it won’t show your card number on it. It will show some other 4 digit number. It will have your name on the top as regular. I’ve never had it print 3 numbers as MarySC says. The first time this happened I thought it was a mistake and I told the young girl about it and she couldn’t explain it to me. I was afraid they wouldn’t work down the road so I had her initial and date them for me for proof…lol. Don’t worry, they’ll work fine.

        • Frugalfindslover

Actually, it does show your #. It’s just missing the last digit

    • Anonymous

Got a $3 off Santa Huggies (!!) at the red machine today. Anyone know if it can be used on top of the MQ and $3 CVSQ?

      • canes

yes can use it with a printable CVS coupon and MQ, did it today and got one pack of diapers for $.49

        • How can you use 2 store Q and 1 MQ? Printing a CVS Q and getting one from the red machine still makes them both CVS Q.

          • canes

because the printed coupon offline starts w/a 4 and is 12 digits long the cvs machine is a different coupon number and is only 9 digits. its kinda like RiteAid and being able to use RA49 coupons and RA50 coupons

      • Srhine85

It doesn’t seem like you should be able to since you would be using 2 stores coupons on the same item.

        • canes

you can use one CVS printed off website and 1 CVS machine coupon per item, dont it tons of times

    • jay

Did anyone else see the other websites that stated that the centrum vitamins would be included in the spend $30 get a $10 gift card deal. I’d ask my frinds that don’t shop at CVS to print them for me. SO SAD

      • Anonymous

I was wondering the same, checked few other sites, and so far nowhere that deal is posted.

      • Ronamy3k

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are asking but if you look at pg 18 of the new ad the Centrum is included in the $30 gift card deal.  It lists them as $9,99.     So I  think they are included if that’s what you’re asking??

        • jay

Thanks, however on a couple of other sites it states that there will be a $7.00 coupons in some papers for the centrum

    • Burns2coupons

Does anyone know where I can get the $1/2 Xtra 2x Laundry detergent q’s? This is a really good deal.

      • SarahR

There are two pages of listings on ebay.  If you order now they should arrive before the sales.

    • Coupongal18

Boo Boo Boo on this ad – the only thing I see is the Combos and Scott’s bathroom toilet paper but I’m pretty stocked on that so not feeling it this week :(

      • Eleanor

What is a good price for toilet paper?  Is the Scott’s a good deal?

        • Srhine85

I have heard that a good price for TP is 1 cent per square foot. So, if you get 400 square feet, then $4 would be a good price. I have used Scott’s before and it was awful. It seemed really thin and not soft, but maybe there are different kinds and I got a bad one.

          • Yootoo

Scott is a bad brand. You will use up way more because it’s so thin. Don’t bother.

            • Tcollins0227

I disagree. I use nothing but Scott tissue.  It lasts us a very long time, plus it’s safe for the septic system.  To each their own I guess

            • Mrs Lburns

It’s the only kind we use, too, but we like the extra soft instead of the original

            • FreedomSpradley1

I’m with Tcollins on this one.  We only use Scott because it last twice as long as a big fluffy soft double roll of any other brand that is likely to clog our septic system.

            • Guest

              yup, same here

      • Anonymous

It’s always been their master plan — give out tons of ECB offers after Turkey day, then a long dry spell in December so you can “burn” them on Christmas presents. I’ve been taking advantage of the gift card offers so the ECB values are preserved indefinitely. :)

    • Anonymous

The Diet coke coupon is not for 12pks so it won’t work.

      • Ronamy3k

I thought it said off “multipacks” ….would a 12 pk not be considered a multi-pack?   I was planning on using the coupon on the 12pks but now I’m wondering….

        • Julie

          A 12 pack is a multipack…

      • Virginia

I know the link says it is for the bottles and mini cans, but when you print it, it just says multipacks, so it should work.

    • Reneern

well. CVS is actually as slow an ad as Walgreens- but, I DO need to stock on T.P.- glad ECB’s have a full month before they expire:)

    • Diana

I have a ton of schick razzor BOgo coupons that I bought does anyone have suggestions were I can use them because they expire on the 17th of this month.

      • Mattea

This week CVS has a spend $20 on Schick or Playtex products and get $10 in ECB (until 12/10).
I bought 2 razors packs, they start at $8 ($16) and I bought a Skintimate Shave gel to get it to $20.
Use a BOGO coupon so you spend about $12 and get $10 back in ECB
$2 and change for 2 packs of razors and shave gel

        • Diana

Thank you soo much Mattea! I will totally do that!

        • Anonymous

          If you buy the Gillette shaving gel 2.7 oz for $2.37, it counts towards the $20 needed and you can use the $2 off coupon.  Today, I bought 24 disposable razors (2 X 8.79) = 17.58 + 2.37 = $19.95 for my $10 ECB.  I used the 20% off Facebook coupon (since all are regular price).  17.58 + 2.37 – 8.79 B1G1 free coupon – 2 Gillette coupon – 3.99 20% off = 5.17 OOP before taxes.

          • Kathy

If your total was only $19.95, how did that qualify for the $10 ECB when the total was not $20?  I’m confused.

            • Anonymous

They round it up to $20.  I read that as long as you spend 98% of the amount it will still qualify.  The total is cumulative so if the ECB does not print, you can get another item within the same week and the ECB will print.

      • Sharon

Walmart have Schick razors for $1.97 a pack. That is where I always use mines at. You make $0.03, but that’s ok too.lol!!

    • Anonymous

I need to re-stock my toilet paper but I guess I will shop for another deal. The last time I bought Scott, there was a rebellion in my house. They refused to use it …called it airport tissue.

      • Nicole in NC

My family refuses to use it too!! Husband says holiday wrapping tissue paper is more pliable! lol

      • Virginia

Have you tried the Scott Extra Soft? It’s much better than the original.

      • Nbprichard

my family did not like the scott either.  said it was too hard

      • Proudlyamom

ha ha ha…my mom has always bought Scott…I always fuss when I go to her house.  Hate the stuff!

      • Guest

those of us with septic tanks have to use the Scott 1000 tp and although you can usually find a sale for it every once in a while, there are usually NO coupons for it.  I’ve been using it for so long now that the other stuff seems way too soft and it tears too easily…
To each his own, I guess lol

      • Fallaya

My bum was sore for a long time after using Scott tissue…way too rough!

      • Mmeisterhans

lmbo…I was just thinking I would try scott tp bc my neighbor said it was good for keeping the toilet from clogging.  She also said she has to change the roll less often than the other brands.  All the comments on how rough it is reminded me of what my husband says about tp on the Navy ship..”We call it John Wayne paper…it’s rough and tough and don’t take *beep* off nobody.”

      • Karenvernon1965

Call I received  from my husband last time I bought Scott TP, ” I know you are saving tons of money with couponing, however, if you are going to buy Scott TP, I WILL be the one in charge of buying TP.”  I can’t repeat the rest of his description.  BUT there are 2 kinds of Scott TP – the regular and the extra soft.  The extra soft is a great deal better than the regular.

        • coupons4kids

Reading this made me laugh out loud!!! I thought the same thing the 1st time I bought it!

      • alison v.

lol  the extra soft is definitely softer than the 1000, but we are switching to the charmin mega roll b/c it lasts SOOOO much longer on the roll!  this discussion has been hilarious!

        • Ivy

My DH actually dislikes Charmin! Can you believe it?! He refuses to use it, claiming that it just glides off without picking up anything. WT? I never thought I would hear someone not liking the “#1” TP. Too funny :)

      • Scott 1000 is HORRIBLE!!! I have a friend who buys it, and I just wait until I get home. But, (no pun intended) Scott Extra Soft is actually pretty nice.

      • Efranks41

I DO NOT like Scott toilet tissue!

      • Siasdavis

I just use it in the kids’ bathroom.  My preschoolers can use 20 feet of the stuff and it still doesn’t clog the toilet!  If I get a deal on “nicer” TP, it goes in the master bathroom….

      • Anonymous

Thanks everyone! I had no idea there was a softer Scott..maybe I will try it. …I will be taking a chance  …if they don’t like it , he will go out and buy some full price without a coupon..and if he really want’s to get my attention, he will buy other things full price and without coupons. such as toothpaste, deodorant and ….RAZORS!!

    • Natasha

I went to my local CVS(Fort Myers,FL) last night and they have lots of
make- up items 50-75% off coupled with some coupons I had this made for a great trip !I plan on going back tomorrow, even without coupons this makes for some great stocking stuffers and stock up items!

          Off of Daniels

Is there a limit on how many times the $10 giftcard deal can be done?

      • Trish

Yes, 5 times in a week.

    • Amanda_brooke_08

If I bought 2 combos, could I pay with $4 ECB?

      • Sarah

        Yes

      • LJ

No, there is a limit of one

      • Christina

Yes, you can pay wiht the $4 ECB, BUT you will only get ONE $2 ECB back…you can buy as many as you want..but your ECB will only be limited to 1.

    • Anonymous

Glad Im stocked last two weeks have been slow hope someone else is getting what they need

    • bumblesmommy

please forgive me for saying this.. but the deal idea is to buy 6 paper towel packs!?  in my store and every other store in my area, there are a limited number of paper towels and toilet paper every time a sale comes..   while i know this is just an idea, it seems that if just 2 people follow it per store, there will be none left for the rest of us.

      • Codabella2

Some stores are really much larger…I recently traveled to a city that had a large CVS with a huge tower of PUREX and TP. I was like, wish I lived here….we fight over the only three Tide’s in town. LOL

      • Mcclellanda79

Technically you don’t have to buy all 6 paper towels in the same shopping trip. CvS keeps track of what you have spent on the gift card promotion until the promotion ends. In essence, if you only buy one $5 item every week, on the 6th week (when you finally reached a total of $30) you will get your gift card. I personally only plan on buy two and combining on what I earned last week to met my $30 total and get my gift card. Anyone who buys 6 packs of 6 paper towels (36 rolls total) is just either greedy or crazy. Paper towels go on sale all the time and everyone should only get enough to get them through until the next time it’s on sale.

        • are you sure this would work? I was under the impression gift card deals did not roll from week to week.

          • Phatpatswife

You are correct, each week it starts over.

        • coupons4kids

The gift card deals are weekly and do not roll over.

        • Shelly

Uh, sorry but you are wrong.  The gift card deals are only weekly.  Meaning, that if you are counting on adding the paper towel deal from this week to your last week’s purchases, you will be disappointed, as your balance starts over at zero each week on saturday, midnight.  Also, it’s not greedy to get 6 packs of paper towels.  As a family of 7, we will go through nearly all of them by the end of the month, so getting 6 packs wouldn’t even get us to the next sale (as you suggested).  Please don’t make judgmental statements…you never know what people need.  Families come in all sizes and circumstances…

        • Sheri

Yeah, I work at CVS, and no, the gift card deals are weekly.  They expire each week.  And I wouldn’t call it greedy, I’d call it lucky!  Plus, 2 weeks prior to a sale starting, we order extra of the item to be on sale.  If not, our store offers rain checks.

        • Susanizanurse

I’m neither greed or crazy. I will be buying 6 packages of paper towels because this is what my family needs. The last time I bought paper towels was when I bought them at Wags for $1.75 for a 6-roll pack of Scotts and that was at least 6 months ago. I typically buy paper towels twice a year only when the price is right. The only reason I’m buying this time is because I have 3 rolls left in my stockpile. I guess some can call me crazy but I call myself a smart shopper!  In fact, I’ll likely buy 12 packages before the week is over!

      • DianaY19

I thought it was a little crazy to have bought 6 papers to even have 6 coupons from that paper.

      • Anonymous

My store usually stacks a bunch at the end of an aisle when there’s an advertised deal. It still seems a bit outrageous to haul home that much at one time. I don’t know about the rest of you, but there’s just not enough storage at my house. Make a mattress out of them for overnight guests?!

      • Anonymous

    • COURTNEY

does anyone know if you do the gift card deal and your total items for one transaction is like 34.00 does the 4$ roll over towards your next gift card deal? and also if a item is on sale BOGO, can you use 2 coupns for say 1$ off…?

      • canes

        yes it will

        • COURTNEY

          thanks!!!

      • Anonymous

I think they changed their coupon policy on BOGO. They reduce coupons down to the value of the product so since you’re getting one for nothing, they would reduce the second $1 coupon to nothing, making it pointless to use. It’s kind of a bummer, but what can you do?

    • Carolyn

I received an email from CVS with a $4/$20 coupon. The email stated that the coupon is valid through 12/10/11, but the printed coupon says “Valid through 12/10/11). Will CVS will accept this coupon on Sunday?

      • Carolyn

Nevermind…I went to print it again and the expiration date changed to 12/13/11…

      • COURTNEY

I had this problem to! My email stated that it was good through 12/11/11, then the red machine printed it and it is said to expire 12/10/11…i called CVS, and they told me it was a software issue….

        • Carolyn

Hmm…so what is the verdict? Are we still able to use it? :)

    • Fallaya

      Wow…what a snoozer of a week!

    • Crose72796

Wanted to let you know about a deal on Brute deodorant.  CVS has on sale for $1.29 each.  With the $1 off any Brute product it will only cost .29.  Every time I have gone in, they are out of the deodorant. So I asked for a rein check.  The cashier told me they would substitute and let me pick out any deodorant less than $3.29 (regular price of the Brute).  I walked out with 12 deodorants for less than $4.00

      • Saverssa

        12??????

      • Efranks41

        Great stocking stuffers, too!

    • Jcvelazquez

Two questions. If your store starts their sunday sales on saturday night can you get the fragrance at buy1 get 1 50% and it also apply to the gift card deal? Also is the fragrance gift card deal seperate from the other gift card deal?

      • Irishgal73

I tried once, I was only able to get the ECB savings on Saturday or advertised sales savings. The clerks said the new Gift Card deals start on Sunday and are date specific.

    • Vicki

The Duraflame printable link for the crackleflame logs takes you to a Facebook page with no coupons…the other link takes you to some coupons, not necessary the ones listed.
Question for all of you longtime CVS shoppers – I know that my WAGS sales prices start on Saturday night – does CVS tend to do the same?

      • Anonymous

Yes. Call your store first to ask, though. Usually they start around 6ish, but it varies. 24 hour stores do NOT start on Saturday night, they start on Sunday at midnight.

        • Sissy10

          sunday at midnight??

          • Anonymous

Yes, as in one minute after 11:59 on Saturday night. Midnight is the beginning of a new day.

      • Phatpatswife

If it’s not a 24 hour store, they normally start Saturday night. I would call first to find out what time cause that depends solely on the manager.

      • Val

The Wags sale prices are in the computer on Saturday, but the RR’s won’t print until Sunday.  I always go for RR’s so have to be patient.

My CVS had some Rimmel cosmetics for 75% off.  With the $1 coupon I got blush for $.25 (regular $4.99) and mascara for $.99 (regular $7.99).  Great deal!

    • Mljdakins

I have a question. The up2u gum is b1g1 free. Can you use a $1 coupon on each pack? I didn’t think you could, but another website says to use 2 coupons, making them both free. Jenny, or anyone, can you clarify?

      • Elizabeth L.

Yes, at CVS you can use a coupon on each item in B1G1 deals.

      • Jesterrose

They have changed their policy this year to not allow that.

      • MomOf4

I did this today and it worked!

    • Deal idea:
      (3) Centrum ProNutrients $9.99
           -(3) $5 printables
      Pay $14.97
      Get back: $10 gift card
      Makes it $1.66 each!

      • Travis

This will not work because you will be 3 cents short of $30 for the GC.

        • Shelly

They round up when it is that close to the $30.  You would get the gift card.

          • Anonymous

Shelly is right, they should round up but in case they don’t, I believe Kleenex is included in the deal and they are a little over a $1. So throw one of those in.

        • I did this tonight and it rounded up. That was all I bought. :) AND I also used a $5 coupon that came out of the coupon machine making them FREE!!!

      • Renayekb

3 Centrums are 29.97 not 30.00. How do you handle this?

    • guest

I can’t believe it…but I let some ECBs expire.  What can I do?  Thanks!

      • melissa

if they recently expired they will still let you use them at my cvs

      • Zebby

a couple of the cvs in my area have told me that they take ecb no matter what the expiration date.  Check with your local cvs to see what their policy is.

      • nancy

Call CVS most ECB they can reissue them for a additional 2 weeks

    • Precious2mama

FREE GLADE spray! I have not seen it listed but Glade air freshner spray is $0.99ea. use the $2/2 any glade products CVS store Q and you get them FREE. This is not the premium spray so you can not stack it with the $1 and/or $0.55 coiponf found in papers or mags.

    • Notmarthajustme

looks like a good week to clean out my rainchecks.  :)

    • Lisa

There was a $5 Off (2) One A Day adult or teen multivitamin products q in the 12/4 RP

    • Dottie

The red machine printed a $5 off the Centrum Pronutrients which makes it free with the $7 coupon in the paper.Since I get 2 papers, I added another bottle with 2 Scott paper towels, threw in a 75% off Rimmel lip gloss and got everything for about $10 and earned a gift card.

        Great scenario, thanks for sharing.

      • Anonymous

I didn’t have the mfg coupon in todays paper. Ugh

        • I didn’t get one either, but coupons dot com has $5 coupons so it makes them free. :)

    • jen

If you have 3 ECB from last week’s free American Greetings cards, can you use that 3 ECB to buy the deal again this week and still get the 3 ECB back?
      I know you can’t do this at Walgreens, so I wasn’t sure….

      • kim

        yes you can

      • Galveston 2000

        I even got a 3 q for any am card up to 299 from the red box-if you buy 3 cards  buy 3-99 cards-get 300 eb plus a 299 card-great

    • I bought
      Three Pro-nutrients at 9.99
      Combos at 2.00
      Total 31.97
      $5 off 30 coupon
Three $5 dollar coupons off any pro-nutrients
One $5 Pro-nutrients coupon from the Red coupon machine
      and 2 ECB
Paid 6.18 with tax and got back 2 ECB and 10 american express gift card
      Transaction #2
Bought Three- $10 American Express Gift Cards and got back 10 ECB. The cashier had to print them manually but it’s an easy 10 bucks made.
      My profit was 13.82 :)

      • Doug

How did you get the $10 ECB on the AMEX gift card deal with $10 gift cards? My store shows it has to be at least $25 gift cards.

        • In the ad it doesn’t state what amount it had to be so I went with the $10 dollar one. The cashier had to get the manager, but he he said we were right so they printed the 10 ECB manually

        • Courtney

is there a fee to activate the GC?

    • Alana262

There is a B2G1 Hershey candy coupon in todays RP.  Goes great with Hershey 2/$5.

      • Alana262

        Ooops   Might have been SS.

      • Jennz2

It took off $4.29 (regular price)! I told the cashier, but she said it was fine, so $3.21 for 3 bags of kisses and $7.50 toward gift card deal. Buy 12 bags ($29.50) use 4 b2g1 (-17.16) = 12.34 + 1.34 tissue and get a $10 gift card. Like $3.68 for 12 bags of Hershey’s and Kleenex.

    • Carolyn

I bought 3 packages of the pro-nutrients, a bag of combos, and a travel size of tums. Used 2 $7/1, 1 $5/1, and the $5/1 CVS coupon from the machine. Paid with $10 ECBs and $0.24 cents from a previous gift card. Got back $10 CVS gift card and $2 ECBs.

    • Jsj931

THE CVS stores in my area seem to only carry Hallmark cards.  Where are you finding American Greeting cards?

      • Liz5979

        mine too :(

        • Ampoe1

My CVS told me very few of them have American greetings mine didnt :-(

          • Anonymous

I have multiple CVS stores in our area 1/2 have AG 1/2 have Hallmark

      • Shannon0503

mine did not either, thought I was losing my mind :)

      • Anonymous

Interesting… my CVS only carries American Greeting. I guess it depends the location.

    • Mcleodsc

The red machine gave me a $5 off Pronutrients coupon!!!!

      • guest

i got one as well. but what exactly is it? does it make for a good deal?

        • Savesmart

a very good deal buy 3 pronutrients 9.99 each use 3 5 off pay 15 get back 10 i did that today is like paying 1.68 per each

          • Mathisi

my deal was awesome! today. 3 pronutrients for 9.99 each used 5 from red machine (3) 7 from todays ss plus a 5/30 from an email. out of pocket $1.09 for tax and got back a $10 gift card!!!!!!!

        • Mcleodsc

          buy 3=29.97
          minus   5.00 from machine
minus 21.00 [3 of the $7 cpns from today’s inserts]
OOP 3.97 GET $10 GIFT CARD!!

        • Staci_marie

They’re vitamins, and there are different formulas.  Men, women, etc.  The $5 store + $7 MQ for a $9.99 (sale price) means overage, and it gets you a $10 gift card if you reach $30 in participating products.

      • Anonymous

Me too! Looks like something that prints each day. I’m planning on visiting three times this week to buy each Pronutrients separately.

        • Vicki

Is there a reason to buy them separately? One thing that would concern me is if I were buying them to get the $10 gift card, and went back after buying two and there were no more left…unless there is a particular reason to buy one at a time?

          • Anonymous

My store had lots in stock Sunday, so I am taking a calculated risk. Not a lot of couponers in the area, so it may be okay for me. We’ll see if another $5 spits out at the red machine today — fingers crossed!

            • Did it print today? I’m hoping to get another one tomorrow. If they do run out you can always get a rain check.

            • Anonymous

Oh yeah, three this week so far! I may shoot for two gift cards by visiting the less popular stores.

    • guest

can you use the $1/2 and the b2g1 on the hersheys?

      • wendyc33

not if there both manf coupons. you would have to buy 4 items to use both.

        • Anonymous

Right, like I said above did you buy 4 items?

      • Anonymous

Tried it today and the register beeped. No go.

      • Staci_marie

I did at Kroger last night.  The b2g1 free attaches to the free, and the $1/2 attaches to the ones you pay for.

        • Anonymous

Did the register beep? I tried using two BOGO Qs and one $1/2 and it didn’t work. Even summoned the manager, who wouldn’t allow it.

          • Staci_marie

No, I went thru the self scan (had only about 8-10 items) and handed the coupons to the self scan cashier.  She scanned them, no problem.  She did scan the $1/2 first – not sure if that mattered?

The only dilemma was which to apply the freebie.  I had 2 holiday flavors at $3 each, and 1 Hugs at $3.19.  I was not concerned – usually they do the lowest one is free.  But she made the $3.19 free.  (She read the Q to make sure it didn’t say lowest value is the free item.)

          • Anonymous

You stated you used 2 B1G1 and (1) $1/2 Did you purchase 4?  If so then it should have worked; give corparate a call.
Wondering if you meant to say that you used a B2G1 either way it should have worked.

      • Ginger

I did at cvs and had no problems

      • Ginger

Your buying two and only getting one free so you should be able to use it as I was able to use mine at cvs and I only got three bags as I was doing the $30.00 gift card deal so hopefully it will work for you

        • Vicki

          Who are you replying to?

          • Ginger

            I was replying to guest

    • Melanie

My CVS in Anderson had a TON of beauty stuff 75% off.  I racked up using my ECB’s and CVS gift card from earlier today!

    • Jenn

Question about the gift cards if anyone knows…. Today I was trying to buy $60 worth of gift card items, so I could get 2, and one item rang up less than it was supposed to, so it made my total only $57. I didn’t realize it until after the transaction was done, when only one gift card slip printed. My cashier was incredibly rude and didn’t know the answer— if I go back some time this week and buy $3 more will I get another gift card, or does it start over? She was so rude I didn’t want to try to return everything, with my coupons and stuff I figured it wasn’t worth the trouble, but just want to know if I should go back and get a few more dollars worth or not! thanks!!

      • Anonymous

I would think you should be able to.  Look at the bottom of your receipt and see if tells you how much you like meeting the requiretment to get the gc

      • guest

Yes, all you need to do is spend $3 more.  I have done this several times.  In fact, I almost never spend the entire $30 in one trip.  However, your total will start over each week.

      • Vicki

Yes, it runs for the entire week, keeping up w/your total and starting over next week.

    • Mcleodsc

Question about the American Express Prepaid gift cards? What denominations are available? Are there any fees associated with these cards? In the small print in the ad it says “terms, fees and conditions may apply”. What does that mean? I was wanting to purchase 3 to give as gifts.

      • Terry

I tried to gert an answer to that last week, but no respons. So I asked the sales person at my CVS, she said it’s $4.95 activation fee per card. That doesn’t make any sense. Still expansive. So I went to AMEX side, that says: NO act. fees. Anyone out there knows the real answer??

        • Staci_marie

I got a $10 Amex card last month from CVS as part of this promo.  Used it for $10, no fee.  I think the fee applies to the $25-50-100 Amex pre-loaded cards you can buy.

        • Mcleodsc

I asked at the store yesterday and was told the activation fee for each American Express card that you purchase is $4.95-I WAS SHOCKED! NO- I did not buy any! That is just a ridiculous amount for an activation fee.

        • Varussellfam

I’ve got the AMEX $10 gift card 5 or 6 times and have never had an activation fee and have been able to use the full $10.  That is just for the more expensive cards.

I got a $10 Amex card a few weeks ago for this promo, and there were no fees.  I was able to spend $10 value.

      • christy

i do the card deal every time it is offered. i chose 3 cards from the $1 section and get the $3 extra bucks back each time…equals free!

        • christy

oops! sorry:( didn’t read post well. not talking about the same cards /:

      • Sarah

associate told me there werent fees on them  but there used to be. I got the gas cards instead just to be on the safe side, would have to spend 10 on gas eventually anyways, so not much difference!

    • Littlemisshannon

I went to CVS today and Sally Hasen item were on clearance but the the cashier told me that because they are on clearance even if I brought $30 worth I would not get a gift card is this true??

      • Akketels

yes, It’s true :( I did the same thing last week with the Physicians Formula cosmetics.  Clearance items dont go towards your gift card purchase requirements…

      • Abananaj

I bought the clearance nail polish and did not get credit for the gift card promotion but I called CVS customer service and explained what happenedand also told them that no exclusions were printed on the flyer. They are sending to my card a coupon for a free gift card!! I just love CVS!!!

        • Littlemisshannon

I told the manager the same thing that the ad did not say excludes clearance and she just told me that the gift card promotion excludes clearance, so I did not end up purchasing the $30 worth of Sally Hansen that would have made a nice addition to my nail polish collection. Did customer service clarify if  can be clearance? Because to me spending $30 is Spending $30 not matter if it is clearance or not

          • Abananaj

They did not clarify they just checked the recent ad and agreeded that i should have should have recieved credit. I bought ten dollars worth of nail polish and at the clearance price they were only$1.37 ea. So I got 7! I like getting a bigger bang for my buck!

      • Phatpatswife

It says on the sale tags hanging in the store that clearance items are not apart of the gift card deal. If you like at a Sally Hansen product that is apart of the gift card deal and read the print at the bottom you’ll see. I love CVS clearance makeup but it never counts towards weekly sales.

    • Vicki

Saw this question earlier I think with no answers: seems as though many people are buying the ProNutrients (3 @ $9.99) and getting the $10 gift card. I’m not sure how this actually qualifies since it doesn’t actually hit the $30 mark. Do they round up or something? Any input?

      • Anonymous

CVS is great — you will still get the GC if you are short a few cents! :)

        • Vicki

Thanks! That’s what I needed to know!!!

      • MomOf4

Usually the GC total will round up if you are within 3 or 4 cents.  So folks are buying 3 x 9.99 = 29.97 (close enough to $30 to print)

        • Anonymous

The gift card will kick out at $29.40

    • confusedincouponland

      Okay.. CALLING ALL MATH WHIZZES!!

I had extreme mommy brain this morning and had one heck of a screw up at CVS.  I need someone who likes to solve math problem to help me, please!

Okay I was trying to do the buy 3 pronutrient vitamins (9.99 ea) get 10 gift card deal (get 10 gc wys 30)

Okay well I thought I had grabbed 3 of the 50 ct (9.99)
but I accidentally grabbed one of the 100 ct (19.49)
so my total was like this
      combos 2.00
      pronutriet 9.99
      pronutrient 9.99
      pronutrient 19.49
      pronutrient mfg q – 7.00
      pronutrient mfg q – 7.00
      pronutrient mfg q – 7.00
      CVS pronutrient q – 5.00
      subtotal 14.47
total with tax 17.16 (which I used a CVS giftcard to pay)
      got back 2.00 ECB
10.00 gift card coupon did not print

Okay so I looked at my receipt to try to figure out why and there it was… I had gotten (2) 50 ct vitamins and (1) 100 ct (which does not go toward gc deal… its only the 50 ct)

Okay so then I’m like… OH NO WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?? I DIDN’T MEAN TO GET THE 100 CT I MEANT TO GET THE 50 CT!!!
I have never had take something back before that had coupons/giftcard/and used gift card to pay too… OOHHHHH MY!

So needless to say I was confused, the manager was confused…  I think before it was all over, the register was confused…
So here is what he did…
He tried refund the 100 ct vitamins but it kept telling him to put 15 something on the card instead of the cost of the vitamins plus tax… he could not figure it out, but when he went to refund in cash it let him refund me 20.85 which I assume is the cost of the vitamins and the tax…
Okay so now all I need to do is buy another vitamin, but I had already given him my coupons…. which I didn’t get back obviously so I just used another one that I had for 7.00 off
      so my second transaction was
      Pronutrient vitamin 9.99
      pronutrient mfg coupon – 7.00
      paid 3.69
and then it printed the 10.00 gift card coupon

So after all of this how did my vitamin deal actually work out?

I have looked at it and looked at it and I don’t know..

      • Mt Cabingirl

Looks like you did fine.  The manager refunded $20.85 to cover the cost of the product 19.99 – $7.00 =12.99 (what you paid) plus for the tax and for the $7.00 coupon that you already used.

      • Akketels

You did Great!  Not only did you get your vitamins but you ended up getting one of your $7 coupons turned into cash! LOL!

        • confusedincouponland

Thanks so much!  I left out going… WHAT??.. I think actually being in the situation I couldn’t see the forest for the trees!  All I knew was it sounded like a christmas jingle with all the beeps at the register…and that I was handing over 4 coupons for 3 products and I just could not figure it out LOL.. Thanks to … okay the screen is blank so I can’t see what I’m typing at this point.. hmmm??  Just wanted to say Thanks to Akketels and Mt. Cabingirl for al  the brainpower this morning (and hope this last part wasn’t too full of typos LOL)

      • MomOf4

The deal worked out and you came out ahead $7. Since you used a $7 on the 100 pack the first time, but got the full value refunded, you actually made $7.And the GC printed out like it should have once you bought the 3rd 50 ct pack of vitamins.

    • where are the $7 pronutrient coupons…the one in my paper is $5

      • Staci_marie

Maybe the amount is regional?  I got $7/1 in the SS yesterday, metro Atlanta.

    • Staci_marie

      Yesterday:
3 6-packs of Scott paper towels, less $1 MQ each
2 bags Hershey Kisses, less $1/2 MQ
Paid with some ECBs left over from Thanksgiving shopping, OOP $5.49

      Today:
      1 Kleenex lotion aloe/vitamin E – have a cold coming on :(
1 Centrum women’s multi vitamin – need to start taking vitamins on a regular basis
      1 Combos bag
      1 bag $.99 candy
Used the $7/1 MQ on the Centrum & $5/1 SQ on it from the red machine.
      OOP $3.06, including tax.
Received $2 ECB from the Combos and $10 Amex gift card.

I started off with ~$9 in ECBs.   So a net cost of about $5.50 and now I’m stocked on papertowels, have vitamins & tissue.  And some snacks.  :)

      • Jessica

The $7 coupon is a pronutrient coupon, isn’t it? How did you use it on a multi vitamin?

    • MomOf4

The Mentos UP2U Gum is B1G1 at $1.57 each.  Bought 4 and used 3 $1 Qs, paid 14 cents for 4 packs of gum!

      • Surfergirl8989

Thanks for the idea! I bought 7 packs today and paid $.63! Yah!

    • Loriwalker525

I got a norelco razor trimmer free!!! Yippee! I am hooked on CVS

      • Barbara

        How?

      • Mcleodsc

        HOW!!

    • Sheilaryanx1

Has anyone bought any of the toys? I am looking for cheap toys to hand out at my daughters birthday party instead of goody bags…any thoughts?

      • guest

Great idea!  I’ve been buying some B1G1 and with Jingle Cash makes a great deal

      • Autumnskies0814

walgreens has toys also 3/13.98 really cute toys. check them out as well, but i think that is a good idea.

    • guest

The rebate is only for specially marked packages…they are all sold out.  Do not try to send in one that is not marked – it has a different SKU #.

    • Jessica

At CVS can you use two coupons for B1G1 the way you can at other stores?

      • Vicki

        Yep, you sure can!

    • Bbeteag

If I buy a men’s cologne that costs, say $45.00, does that mean if I spend $15.00 on other gift card items that I will get 2 gift cards for a $60.00 purchase?  I know with other purchases, the total I spent showed on my receipt, but did not know if it works the same with cologne, or if I will just get 1 gift card regardless of the price of the cologne.

      • Jamesbntn

i always ask the manager, before i try these deals.

    • Debcope04

my store in pageland sc was marking down some revelon make-up and selected nail polish last night at 75% good deals

    • Jesse

So I can’t remember, how many gift cards can you get?  I was thinking of doing the paper towel, toilet paper deal again, but the vitamin deal is AMAZING (as long as I get the Q from the machine)!  Can I get two gift cards or is it a limit of 1?  I could look at my ad, but it’s not near me :(  I think the limit is 3…

      • tina

        5 gift cards

    • Tessanoel74

This Green Bag Tag business has been going on for a loooooooooooooong time now.  I think I’ve gotten at least 40 of those $1 ecb’s from using the tag.

    • trying

Today…I walked out of CVS with 2  12 roll scott tissue, 2  6 roll scott paper towels, 2 different pronutrients bottles, 2 boxes graham crackers all for $16. I had coupons for everything..sometimes double coupons. PLUS I left with 2 CVS gift cards totaling $20!!! So I made money!

    • Daija8

where is the best place to purchase coupons on line.  Either whole inserts or already clipped?

      • Mcleodsc

I like insertinsanity dot com. there are others. If you can find one in Florida-they usually get better coupons.

I’ve done well with eBay. It’s important to go to the CVS website and look at their upcoming sales before you buy from eBay, though.

It’s been around for a while. I’ve earned many many bucks using it.

I dont know if its a new policy or not but mine will only scan once a day.

It is good for one scan per day per store.  If you happen to go to another CVS the same day, you can scan it again.

I was told that as long as you’re using the save CVS card, it will only scan once per day. I’ve tried to scan it twice at two different stores, but no go. They say once per day.

I got my green bag tag when they had a $.99 ECB deal with it so it was free too! A tip: I put my tag on my keychain (through the hole in the leaf, not on the cord) so I’ll always have it. It’s thick coated cardboard so as long as you don’t submerge it in water it should hold up fine. I keep a stash of reusable bags in my car so I’ll always have them too.

A question: If I have Man Q for B1GI and then the store has a sale on the same item B1G1, I know that they will both be free. My question is this: can I use an Man Q for say, $1 off along with my B1G1?
I also found that if you get rain checks for items that will add up to the $30 to get the free gift card, even if you go back the next week, according to my manager, they can manually enter the $10 Gift Certificate, even though it may be for items the previous week. The only problem is that the CVS coupons tend to have very limited experation dates – so I don’t know if I’ll will be able to use them  to qualify for the GC since the CVS Qs will have expired a few days prior. Anyone have any experience with this?
