We all know about the great Extra Care Bucks deals at CVS offers each week, but did you know you can also save money with their CVS brand?  I’m normally not big on store brands, but if they are a better deal and work the same as a national brand product, that’s where I head. Gold Emblem, Just the Basics, and Caliber are a few of the CVS store brands that deliver quality products like batteries, school supplies, and personal care items.

Last week I found myself needing batteries last minute and the CVS Gold Emblem batteries were B1G1 at a much cheaper price than the name brand batteries one tag over.  CVS Brand products are typically 30% cheaper than the national brand equivalents and they often go on sale too.

CVS is giving away an awesome Back to School package filled CVS brand school supplies, snacks, and personal care products. In the package you’ll find a backpack, notebooks, markers, pens, pencils, highlighters, glue sticks, snacks, tissues and more!

If you don’t win though, you can still save on these products and more when you shop at CVS with your CVS ExtraCare Card.  Of course, don’t forget to scan your card at the ExtraCare Coupon Center to get extra coupons when you shop.

      the lists seem endless this year!!  The two biggies for my Kindergardner is GLUE STICKS AND CRAYONS.  For my 6th grader it’s a flash drive and graph paper and my 7th grader is a calculator and ear buds!!!  Like to buy extras at the beginning of school sales so we have them to replenish when the teacher needs and so it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!

      I have 2 children in school.  I also have a niece that I purchase her supplies.  Last year alone our back to school supply list cost ocer $250 for just my two children.  Everything you can imagine is on their supply list from crayons to liquid hand soap.  I also work for the school system and have many students who cannot afford school supplies.  A donation for those unfortuante students is very hard to come by.  Although there are fundraisers in our area to help, it is not near enough.

      My 11 year old 6th grader has a TI -84 calculator on her list this year.  It’s $99 – ON SALE.  It just blows my mind that she would need this type of calc so early.  Boy, how times have changed.

      This is too cook, i always watch specials for school supplies but the washable markers are still needed and of course she wants zebra scissors and those are hard to find. Also the right backpack and lunch box are important.
