Have you hit CVS this week for the awesome week of deals?  I’m gathering my coupons now to head out around lunch time (wanna join me fur lunch?).  Part of gathering coupons is figuring out what is printing at the CVS coupon center.  It’s a magical box that can make for all new deals and big savings…

While you are getting ready to go shopping, have you checked out the new CVS Weekly Ad format on the CVS site?  Login to your CVS account and then browse the ad.  You’ll see all your current coupon offers there, plus the ad will highlight what you tend to buy the most.  For me I like the Extra Care Savings tab the most.  It lists all the extracare deals in the entire ad one after another so I don’t have to skim the entire ad to see them.  This is a new feature and I know from comments not everyone loves it.  I’m actually heading up to CVS corportate this week and would love to share your thoughts and feedback with them.

This week folks are reporting the following coupons from the coupon center and online (remember not everyone will get all of these):

Expires in One Week
.50/2 Snickers, Milky Way, 3 Musketeer or Twix King Size
$3/2 Colgate Optic White or Total Toothpaste
$2/2 Jolly Rancher Snack Size Bags, 9.1-10.5 oz

Expires in Two Weeks
$2.50/$12 Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Floss or Mouthwash
$5/$35 Baby Care purchase
$2/$8 Vitamin Purchase
$1 off Bayer or CVS Brand Low Dose Aspirin
$1.50/3 Renuzit Air Freshener
$2/$9 Battery Purchase
$2/2 Hand & Body Lotions, excludes trial size
$1/$6 Battery Purchase
$1/$6 Greeting Cards Purchase

Don’t miss all the deals this week at CVS.

I like the extracare deals together because I rarely buy anything else. Any chance CVS corporate could either give us all the coupons(/i know not likely) or maybe we can have a choice out of the ones printing to add to our collection or something. The randmness of couons is what gives me the most trouble

    • Veronica

All I get are coupons off candy bars and whatever coupon is printed in the circular. Example: The Renuzit Coupon this week. I think I have been couponing too long and save too much money which is why I don’t any good ones… :-(

      • paige

You should try getting a new card. I did and was getting great coupons at the red machine, and in my online account. HTH

        • Sheila

How does that work? Does your info, beauty rewards, etc transfer if you get a new card? What do you do — just tell them you need a new card at the store?

          • pdnr

I was told I would need to use all my ECB’s first before I got a new card because they would not transfer. I don’t know about beauty rewards, etc.

            • Lisa

I think this issue would be another good one to share with corporate. Loyal customers who shop regularly with the store should not have to get a new card just to be able to get the same coupons that newer customers receive. I do realize that we get great deals from CVS — and I am very appreciative of that fact! — but I buy a LOT of stuff there in return.
Thanks for all the help Jenny!

          • You actually don’t want to transfer any information to the new card. That way you are a new shopper. So use up any ECB’s and get your next beauty reward and then make the switch!

    • mom

i would love to tell them that at my cvs the red machine is always OUT OF SERVICE…. needless to say that i never get those good coupons!!!

    • mrs b

I like being able to flip through the whole ad online, especially weeks when I don’t buy a paper or mine is missing the cvs ad.
i hate having to log in to do that. I loved being able to see next week’s ad on Thursday–it helped me plan my weekend errands.

    • meme

i think i like it. love cvs!

    • Lisa

Personnally I too like to flip throught the entire ad. I can sometimes find things that way that I would not normally consider buying; with the new personalized ad I don’t seem to be able to see tham as easily. However — I did figure out that if I typed in “weekly ad” into the search box at the top I could get the complete ad to display like it used to. I just think CVS should let us choose the option of which way we want to view it and put shortcuts for both methods on the home page, rather that just changing it for us.
And please tell corporate that the individual stores need to stay on top of those red machines and keep them operational! In my area, the machine in one store almost always works (because they have a clerk who keeps it running); in another store it’s down most of the time and if you complain they just seem to have no idea what to do with it. Thanks!

      • pdnr

Thanks for the info, Lisa, on how to get the entire weekly ad. I also deal with one store with a red coupon machine that usually works and another store where it is often out of order. The one with the wacky machine has been good to honor a coupon everyone was supposed to get and I couldn’t because the machine wasn’t working. (For instance, they gave me $1 off Progresso soup a couple of weeks ago, a coupon that the ad stated everyone would get.)

      • cg48

thanks from me as well….I too would like the option to view the entire ad versus the myweeklyad.

      • cg48

thanks from me as well….I too would like the option to view the entire ad versus the myweeklyad.

    • Cindy

I like to look through the entire ad. CVS does not give me coupons on products that coincide with sale items, which is very frustrating. I have started to shop Rite Aid. I really liked CVS but I just don’t see where they want ME to remain a loyal customer!

    • Tammy

I wish that we could all get same coupons. I only got the Renuzit coupon this week.

    • Judy

I love CVS, and my local store employees are the best. But I’ve called corporate twice recently on the randomness of the coupons printing at the coupon center, to no avail. I buy diapers, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste at CVS exclusively, but NEVER receive those coupons. I live in northeast GA, and when I read that folks an hour or two away are getting the extra value coupons is very frustrating.

Concerning the new website: It is okay. It’s nice to see all the ECB deals together. I don’t consult the online site that much. Southern Savers is about all I need! (Thanks so much, Jenny!)

    • Josie

Jenny: You stated that you were heading up to the corporate office of CVS. I am curious, where is it located? Thanks Josie

      • They are in Woonsocket RI which is really close to Providence.

        • Josie

          Thanks Jenny.

    • Amanda

I love the new ad format. I like being able to see all the ECB’s in one place and then having everything organized by category. I also like the fact that you can see all the different products that are included in a sale or ECB deal, rather than just relying on the one small picture in the ad.
My one complaint is that you have to sign in to view the weekly ad and it doesn’t stay logged in for very long. I frequently keep many tabs open in my browser window to find coupons, compare deals, etc. and every time I go back to the CVS weekly ad, I have to log-in again. It’s very annoying. Maybe you could ask them to keep the weekly ad logged in for longer?

    • Beth

I tried to check their site out on Chrome but the pictures in the add never loaded & my session kept expiring before I ever saw anything! I tried it on Firefox after that and it worked much better. I’m not sure if I like the way it’s set up or not. I’ll have to try it next week and see what I think. I know stores track what you buy but that is an in your face version of it!

    • sjgsjg

I too like how they group the ecb deals together but have you noticed you have to click on a lot of them to figure out what the deal is? I feel like I have to take extra steps with the new format to get the same information.

    • Disa

The coupon center VERY RARELY prints me the coupons that I’m expecting after looking on here. I work them into my list & transaction ideas, then get to the store & those dont print

    • Cassie

I was pleasantly surprised by the new system when I went to check the ad. I liked that it suggested the products I usually buy and the ecb section is great. I do agree that the regular ad should be available to read the old way as well too.

    • carol

I went in today to print from the machine (I scanned twice…) and all I got was the lousy “register for double rewards” or whatever that’s been spitting out behind the coupons for the past month. A few days ago I got that king size candy bar one :/

    • gccsmom

I just went to the CVS site, unaware that the ad display had changed. I do NOT like being unable to just view the ad for myself. What made it worse, I tried repeatedly to email them and it kept coming up asking for a valid phone number (which I continued to enter over and over)….it never would accept my email. My local CVS and employees are super, but NOT liking being unable to even get an email off to the home page.

    • Kim

There have been lots of ppl saying they are not getting any good coupons
for CVS. Same for me, so I went to the website and cancelled my
newsletters for CVS and immediately re-subscribed for them. Within 24
hrs I had a 25% off store purchases and a 30% off store purchases
emailed to me. Its worth a try.

    • Suz

I don’t like that I cannot see the entire ad online. I just moved and now I no longer get their ad in the paper, so I miss seeing the entire ad online. I would love it if it could either be mailed or still viewed online.

    • Andrea

I haven’t read through all the posts so maybe someone already wrote this….but I’m not a fan of the new ad layout. I much prefer to flip page by page through the actual circular (online of course). I googled and found if you go to weeklyad.cvs.com you’ll still get the old way. How long this will stay up, I don’t know!
