I love posting this deal!  CVS’s  great gift card deal is back!

Starting today, you will get a $5 CVS e-gift card for every $25 you spend on CVS gift cards.  For regular CVS shoppers, this is basically 5 free bucks!

This could also make a great gift (not to mention the $5 coming back your way), or just keep it your self and use it towards the great deals we already get at CVS (like the awesome diaper deal this week).

Heads up, this offer never lasts long, so grab it if you want it!

Can you redeem the egift cards in store or online only?

      •  I was wondering the same thing.  Anyone?

        • amy

They can be redeemed in-store.  Email link has a printable page with instructions for the store.  hth :)

          • Arriadawn

How long did it take for you to get the email with your free e-card??? Yes, you can use it in the store.

            • CoopDaFrog

Less than a minute and it was in my inbox and ready to print… :)

            •  hm..I got the confirmation, but neither (the $25 or $5) have come through..Is that normal?

            • Dixie

Check your spam folder–I’ve had it do in there before, or at least the extra $5 did.

            • Determined2save

ordered mine yesterday…still do not have it :(  money has left my bank account though!!  :(  Patiently getting worried.

            • Determined2save

@Jennifer Reno  did you ever get your card yet??

    • amy

Thanks for posting this Jenny!  I always seem to miss this deal, but I got it this time!!!  :)

    • Jody G

can you use the CVS gift cards to purchase ANYTHING in the store?  like, visa gift cards or other gift cards they sell, prescriptions, tobacco? ANYTHING ???

      • Juli

My gut instinct was that you couldn’t use it on tobacco or alcohol, but now I’m curious to see the answer!

        • CoopDaFrog

The restrictions (I’m pulling this straight from the gift card) are:
“Cannot be used to purchase money orders or prepaid cards, or as payment on a credit account.”  That’s all that it stipulates :)
          Hope this helps!

          • Rebecca

            Alcohol, yes, gift cards, no

    • katkoupon

      Thanks!

    • Clucas3

      Thanks!  Got mine.

    • b j

sounds like too great a deal—any hidden catches???

      • Ginger

None that I’ve run across, anyway. Other than sometimes the cashiers don’t know how to process them.

        • b j

thanks. printed a gift card—got my extra reward right away. hope they work well in store.

          •  I always tell the cashier, ‘Just hit your “Money card ” key and scan the bar code.’  It goes straight through.

            • Ginger

Thank you, I will remember to tell them that from now on! :)

      • Rebecca

The only trouble I’ve ever had with them is that when you get to the end of it, it won’t automatically go through for what the value is, so if you only have $5.23 on the card, and your total is $5.24 or more, the cashier has to manually enter $5.23, otherwise the charge gets denied.  If you have a good cashier, they’ll help you figure this out at the end.  If you don’t, good luck.  Try writing the figure on the paper every time (that’s what our cashiers do here).  That will help you keep up with how much is left, AND DONT LOSE THE PAPER.  If you do, it’s like cash.  Someone can spend it and then even if you reprint it, it’ll be gone.

    • Ginger

Yay, just used the last of mine last month! Wasn’t expecting more for a while.
      Thanks!

    • Dixiegirlinafrica05

If you shop every week, how much is a good amount to buy?  I was originally going to purchase $25.

    • soundring

To use in store, do you have to use the whole thing at once? I’m not sure how a paper gift card will work in the store?

      • Frances

Works just like a regular plastic gift card – use it several times or one time.

Make sure the clerk gives it back to you!  Several times they have tried to trash the paper card with $ still on it.  I have only had one clerk question me using it a little at a time but still took it.

    • Dixiegirlinafrica05

When it gets to the page for me to enter my debit card info, it won’t let me type in the numbers.

    • Guest

      Hi,

      • Dixie

Check your spam folder.  My $5 one went in there one time.

    • Guest

      Do these have an expiration?

    • AB

where do I go to recieve my gift card? or do they just email it to me and I print it off?

      • AB

oh nevermind! just got my email:)

      • Dbyrd

    • Tracy

    • gg

I got $25 gift card but no $5.  Is it over?

    • Guest

Seems like it is over. It doesn’t mention $5 free e-gift card anywhere on that website

    • Deanna

the cards cost 4.95 dont they?

    • Jhallet

The promo is over.  It ended last night at 11:30.

    • tori729

FYI, if you use part of it at CVS they don’t give you a plastic one. You have to keep the paper one until it runs out and it just keeps track of the balance when they scan it. What bulky gift cards they are!

    • Debbie Trueblood

This is ACTIVE AGAIN~I just got a phone call from the CashStar people that handle the CVS
cards…. asking about why I didn’t complete my transaction.  I told him
I thought the promo was still on, my error.  He said the first had
ended, but was LIVE AGAIN FOR TODAY!  I just ordered one…..

    • hjundt

I just did this and it worked almost instantly…LOVE CVS!

    • Ed823

Is it only online? Is it still going on?

Just tried it and it didn’t work, so promo must have ended.  Not in junk mail folder either.
