CVS

There are two great coupons printing from the in-store coupon center kiosk at CVS right now. You can get a coupon for a free bag tag and $1 off Crystal Light.

Attach the green bag tag to any reuseable shopping bag.  Then everytime you shop in CVS scan the bag tag at checkout and every 4th scan gives you to $1 ECB. Your card will only track one scan per day.

If you get the $1 off Crystal Light coupon:
This is awesome because there are single packs for 50¢ each! This allows you to make 50¢, or get 2 packs for free.

(thanks, whosaidnothinginlifeisfree!)

    • rs

Yesterday, I used the mfr coupon for b2g1f with the cvs coupon for $1 to get 3 for free.

      • Exsquid22

where was the b2g1 from?   Thanks!

        • lcp

          4-03 Smartsource

          • Exsquid22

            thankyou  :)

    • AP

Do you have to have shopped at CVS a lot before-hand to get the bag tag Q, or do you think everyone gets one? I have a card for myself & my mom, but I've been using her's mainly to combine our purchases & savings.  Thanks Jenny & whosaidnothinginlifeisfree!

    • Srreynolds

I've looked in all the CVS stores in my area and none of them have the coupon kiosk.  Is this just a regional thing?

      • Shon

Its actually the price check machine.  Usually located near the front of the store.  Scan your CVS card and it will print out coupons.  HTH

      • millie

it should not be it is a large red machine near the front of the store or like  shon said it also doubles as the price check scanner so if you still do not see ASK! it is great the coupons you will get!

      • Tnstamper

most of the stores that have been remodeled have them, some that weren't remodeled yet in our area don't have them.

    • Brandi

I know you can only get the tag scanned once per day but can you have more than one tag if you have more than one bag?

      • jobo

I was wondering the same thing

        • Star

i have 3 greenbag tags so that i can do up to 3 transactions and still have a card scanned, They each will only scan once per day.

          • JessicaJ

Star, you will still only get credit for one scan per day.

            • Tnstamper

A lot of people seem to have more than one card — guess they think they need one for each card.

            • WynetteC

Or they might have a need to keep them on several different bags that seem to get shuffled between their house and cars. For me the extras help out for exactly that type scenario.

      • SarahR

All of the tags have the same UPC number so you only need one.  They scan it once and you only get credit for one scan per day no matter how many bags you have.  I have heard you can get one credit per store per day.  (If you visit more than one CVS in one day. ) I guess you can think of it as a per visit credit rather than per bag like Target.  HTH

        • Bamabobbie

I have one bag tag and use it with two different cards, one for me and one for a friend, and can only use it once a day per card no matter how many transactions or stores I go to that day.

          • Stacyannw

no if you go to a diffrent store you can scan your green card and get another credit toward your 4, i do it all the time, since i work all over Bham i go to several cvs's in a day sometimes, and every diffrent store i go to i can get another credit on my green tag, i got 2 today :)

            • tygirl13

I have gone to two different CVS in the same day and could only do one bag tag…the second one didn't take.  Guess it depends on how often the CVS store updates its system…

      • Motleyfamsave

No I was told that the green tag goes along with your CVS card.  I originally purchased 2 and the manager told me it doesn't work like that so I gave one to a woman waiting behind me in line!!  I was told that if you go to a different CVS on the same day u can scan it again!

    • I got these two coupons and also got a 1.00 off Indiana Popcorn.  I have not heard of this and was not sure if it was popped, microwave or kernals.  I did not have time to look around for it but it could be a good coupon depending what it is???

I also think they may have changed the bag tag redeem qty, (at least in my area, in MI) on my receipt yesterday it said qty needed to earn 6, to date earned 2 – looked at some of my past receipts and it said 4 needed to earn.

      • Theresaspears

My store (Woodstock, GA) had Indiana Popcorn. They were large bags of already popped corn, next to the chips, and they were 3.39/bag.

        • Jennifer Peaslee

          =O That's the store where I work!

      • Monica

That popcorn was 3.99 or 4.19 in the stores in Cola. SC.

    • Tmcburnett

I got a CVS card today and i went to scan it at that machine today and it said that no coupons were available . Is this normal with a new card???

      • Amj0509

That happen to me, the machine was out of paper.

      • Pappajubi

You have to spend on that particular CVS card before the red machine starts printing Q's. The more you put on the card the better the Q's it prints. SO, start spending!

    • music_11

Just to give you ladies heads up….. You can scan your card twice in a row and get more coupons, you don't have to scan it just once. Yes you can only scan it twice in a day but hey I've gotten some really good coupons the second go around.

      • Nita Royal

Actually, I've scanned as many as 5 times!  Just keep scanning until it says “no more coupons”…you never know.

      • Croftteacher

I have never been able to scan twice. :-(

      • Sasekate

I have only been able to scan it once also, the machine says I have reached my limit.

    • Kywog

I went to CVS yesterday and my hubby actually pointed out the coupon kiosk, lol guess I am rubbing off on him with these coupons.  I may return today to get my free bag and crystal light.

      • tygirl13

My husband now takes it upon himself to do the card scanning when we go together…I love it!!

    • lilmissunderstood

I went to CVS today to stock up on Suave products (which they were out of everything but deo) and I scanned my card at the kiosk… I got the free green bag tag and also a Free Lotion Coupon. It was the Beauty Essence 2oz Lotion, Mist or Bath Gel.. I got the coconut lime and it smells delish!

      • blessedbeingmom

I got a coupon for the free lotion, mist or bath gel, but it said up to $1.99 & all the ones I saw on the shelf were $2.99 so I didn't get one.

    • Lilqueen8

I love that my 4 year old daughter figured out to scan the card twice :)  Went yesterday and I got the free green tag and also the crystal light coupon.  I used the green tag, but not the crystal light yet, I didn't realize or even took to see how cheap they were. Thanks!

    • Alison V.

a pharmacy assistant told me a great idea for keeping up with the bag tag!  she told me to cut it to fit the back of my cvs card and use clear tape to affix it.  that way, it doesn't matter what bag i end up taking with me and it doesn't take up more space on my key ring!

      • Kenzbug

That is a very good idea!

      • Julie

I just stuck my card in my coupon holder.  I always use reusable bags and this way I don't have to worry about taking the wrong bag.  CVS will let you use any reusable bag to scan the card, or you can just refuse a bag and carry the items by hand or in your purse (for smaller purchases).  You just can't have them bag it in a plastic bag (although my store isn't even that strict about it).

      • Amy

I keep mine on my purse strap and tuck it inside. That way, if I forget my bag, I can still get a point. They scan it as long as I don't take a plastic bag to carry my items.

    • Sarah

are there any offers to get free reusable bags? I'm cheap (obviously haha) and don't like the thought of having to spend money in order to save it

      • Julie

You can bring in any bag or just offer to carry them without a bag.  It doesn't have to be their bag, they are just trying to encourage not using their plastic bags.

      • Amy

Nature Made (vitamins) has a program where you enter codes from their products and receive points.  The points can be redeemed for different things, we got a reusuable bag that way.

      • I got my bag at Target. They were giving them away on Earth Day 2010. I wouldn't have gotten one otherwise. However, most bags are only $0.99. After four trips to CVS (on different days), the bag will pay for itself.

      • C~~

@Sarah – I take any reusable bag I have at home.  I bought three green bag tags a while back and attached them to different bags, that way I always have an extra bag in my vehicle. Never know when I can stop at CVS or any other store for that matter.  :)

      • Lorannclark

Know anyone who runs??  I sometimes get these bags as running packets at races with all sorts of goodies.  I then re-use the recycled bags for shopping, but others may not want theres and give them to you.

      • Stacyannw

you can use any bag, for a while i kept it on the original plastic cvs bag i got the first day i bought the tag, and i just got a second tag today, because i left mine at home and had a coupon for a free one so i used it today and it just continues to add up on green tag purchases, so far i have earned 5 ECB and i got both tags for free :)

      • Dtcox1

in v a kroger just got in a bunch of pretty and big bags for .99 today not bad—————–

      • Freedomspradley1

        Dollar Tree has reusable bags

    • lhayes

So I just goy back from my CVS trip. I did the Suave deal and noticed for the b1g1 coupon, the cashier entered $3 to be taken off.  Was that right? Or should he have entered 2.00, the actual sale price?

      • Tina

My cashier wrote in $3 because thats what the coupon scanned for, even though the Suave was on sale for $2.

        • My cashier did the same thing.

          • Me too, I was confused at the time because I did not remember having a 3.00 coupon.  My CVS did not have the lotion, don't carry it.  Oh well, I did good over all was able to do the Suave deal once at CVS and once at Rite Aid, having purchased 2 papers and having a few odd Vaseline and Suave coupons mailed to me (no clue as to how they showed up in my mail, guessing some site I signed up for coupons).

My stockpile is slowly growing, especially personal care items, LOVE IT!

      • Jennifer Peaslee

As a CVS cashier, I can tell you that we're only supposed to enter the sale price IF prompted. But sometimes a coupon will automatically enter the maximum price, and there's no point in correcting it.

      • Tracy

My cashier scanned the coupon for my BOGO suave and it also came up $3.00 off

      • ashley

i did this deal at rite aid this week, and it's doing the same thing there.  must be something with the coupon itself.

      • jess

on the coupon it says there's a maximum of 3 dollars. at publix, they did that to me, they could only take 3 dollars off.

      • guest

should have been the actual price of the item, cvs doesn't allow for overages

    • Wright11

This is my first day couponing and I tried to print the coupons at the kiosk and they did not print. The lady at the cashier said it is totally random.  Sometimes they upload and print and sometime they do not.  Is this normal?  Is there a way to know when they will print.  I don't want to miss the green card.

      • Amy

Everyone gets different coupons with the exception of the last two to print. The machine distributes coupons based on shopping habits so if you just got your card, it does know what to give you yet. (This happened to me when I first got my card) You definitely should have something come out of the machine in a week or two.

      • Jody

Scan your card until it tells you no more coupons available.

      • guest

it also depends on the stores sales and rate of customer scans, the more scans the more offers that will print ie if you go to a lower volume slow paced store compared to a faster paced store you will get more copouns and sooner too.

    • Caroline

When I was there today, I got the free bag tag coupon (all out but not a big deal b/c I already have one), $1 off Crystal Light, $1 off popcorn Indiana and $3 off any Loreal facial moisturizer.  All the cashiers know me so he was chatting me up as I was checking out.  He asked if I'd gotten any good coupons at the kiosk.  I said I'd gotten the one for the Crystal Light packets I was buying (found inside one of the refrigerator doors if anyone can't find them).  He said if I didn't know, I don't actually have to buy what the CVS coupon says.  He asked if I'd gotten the popcorn coupon and asked to see it.  He scanned it and it took $1 off.  He then took my 2 $1 and one $2 Revlon coupons, $1 Crystal Light q and $10 ECB.  I lost $.03 with ECB but I didn't care.  Only paid $.72 tax for 3 nail polishes and 2 Crystal Light packets!  Has anyone else used their CVS coupons on anything?  It seems like cheating but he's a cashier and was telling me to do that!

      • Stacyannw

thank you for saying where you found that crystal light i looked for them in two diffrent stores today and couldnt find them :)

      • Susanfh

people are getting fired for using coupons that are not on the correct items.

        • tygirl13

That's not her fault!  He must not be too worried about it…

          • Ginger

Yeah, but she may want to mention something to that cashier. Don't want to lose a coupon-friendly cashier unnecessarily.

        • Jennifer Peaslee

I let a customer use the $1 off coupon on an item it wasn't intended for because we didn't seem to have the correct item in stock. But I only do that for substitutions.

The thing is, if the computer notices that the customer doesn't have the correct item, then the cashier has to put it in manually. If they (we) do that too much, or for coupons $5.00 and above, management definitely notices…

          • guest

well then ur manager doesn't do their job in teaching you all about the tracking systems and/or coupon policy and that right there causes a net loss in profits for the store, you might think you are getting away with it but LP will catch up with you and you will lose your job.  I don't know if you are a member of management but you should be ashamed of cheating the system. and in the case of not having the item in stock you should only do so upon direct consultation of a SM, ASM, Shift or DSM or RPH or PHoto lab supervisor.

            • Freedomspradley1

Managers are almost always involved in approving
substitutions.  I don't think Ms. Peaslee is doing anything wrong.
Funny how folks are quick to pass judgment but do so under the guise of
              “guest”.

      • Phatpatswife

This is not allowed. We cashiers at CVS all know that CVS coupons will scan regardless of what the coupon is intended for but that's just wrong. I don't allow it because it's fraud. That person will eventually get fired. Before I found out about that, I had a supervisor do it. He was having me ring him up for somethings and got a coupon for $10 off a tv (about a year ago) and when he gave it to me I said this isn't for this stuff, he said scan it, I bet it will work. He was my supervisor and insisted and that's when I found out that they will scan….but that doesn't make it acceptable and honestly that supervisor has since been fired. Moral's should be making these people feel bad for doing these things and I hope that you don't let him do it again.

    • busymom2

I am confused. On the bag tag, do you need one for each cvs card? (If you have more than 1 card, should you have 1 tag each card?) I take my mom's card sometimes with me shopping to get her the deal too because she can't get around much anymore…

      • Jennifer Peaslee

No: I work at CVS, and I can tell you that each bag tag has the same UPC number. So you do not need one for each CVS card.

      • Dtcox1

in v a i have a card ive had a long time so i got my husband one last week to use if we are not together guess what it killed my card did not get my 5.00 xb to print said to call corp i did very nice said i was picked ramdon to get a new card mailed to me in a few days been over a week now . went today can dont pick up med are get revlon nail stuff today i will call —————– corp tomorow ———— well see what happens with this ……

    • Samantha

Thanks for saying where you found the crystal light packs. I looked where they sail their drinks and didn't see it so i just moved on.

    • Tracy

Where did you guys find the crystal light, I could only find the $3.28 ones…..also….the coupon kiosk printed a $2.00 off mascara coupon, can I stack that with a $3.00 manufact. coupon?  Thanks!

      • ab

Yes–you should be able to. Also, I found the single packs of CL in the drink coolers with the water.

      • Dtcox1

in v a it was at the coolers with drinks on front door small pkts

      • Ginger

My store has them in the cooler close to the bottled water….and yes you can stack!

    • Kristin Beverly

What do you mean “make” 50 cents?  My CVS makes me buy cheap candy to make up the difference.  Is this CVS policy or just cashier choice?

      • Crafty_cat_86

you can use it to pay for something else in the same transaction, so it's like making $0.50 when you're rolling.

      • Couponingpaisa

You technially make 50 cents, but because you can't get cash back you have to add something else so that your total will be 0.00 or more.

      • Allisonkorink

every place is different it depends on the manager kroger will not give you money from a coupon we cant the computer locks up if we get in a – . and its not the cashier lol i get cussed out 50 times a day for coupons its up to the store if they will do it or not. i got a coupon for buy 3 get one free kroger policy is one coupon pre item so i had 3 dollar off coupons to go with it my store will take it how ever the other store would not i was so mad i called the corp office and they said it was up to the store they dont have rules for them cause every coupon and every vender is different

      • I haven't tried this deal yet, but typically my CVS will only put in the amount of the product if the coupon is for more $ off.  So, you're still getting it free but not “$ back”.  Each store is different.  There's no need to ask about that before hand, though.  Just take your items to the register and see what happens.  HTH

    • chris

i am so frustrated with my cvs they had run out of bag tags and the register would not accept my revlon  ANY NAIL ENAmEL  $1 manufacture coupon it would not ring it said my coupon was not valid for that purchase.

      • stacey

My coupon beeped too. but the cashier went ahead and put it in.  I ran into the same problem a few months back with a revlon nail polish coupon.  But the picture and the words clearly show it is valid.  I would have asked to speak to a manager

      • stacey

    • stacey

got coupons yesterday and went back today and got the same ones.  So happy.  now i can give one to a friend.  I found crystal lite packets up front near register and candy.

    • AliB

all – just told by my CVS, that you must ATTACH the bag tag onto a bag (can't just put your items in your purse like I usually do instead of a store bag after purchase).  silly, but wanted to share b/c my cashier wouldn't scan my card b/c it wasn't attached.

      • Piggy_171

I think it depends on the store, our store will let you carry it out, throw it in ur purse, ect.

      • ireneY

That's pretty ridiculous! The whole point is to save plastic bags. I keep mine clipped with my CVS card and coupons. Most of the time, I have cloth bags, but on occasion, I've hand-carried items or actually used their plastic bags. One time, I've even used a Christmas gift bag I just purchased!

      • Abc79teach

I think it does depend on the store because when I go thru the drive thru to pick up my meds they always scan my bag card and I never use a reusable bag to get my rxs.

      • Phatpatswife

That's not right. You should perhaps call corporate about that because the whole point is to not use their bags. I'm an employee and when I get to work I buy a drink for my shift and scan my green bag cause i'm not using a bag. What if you buy the coke 12 pks that are on sale. They don't need a bag. I would certainly scan a customers bagtag as long as they are not getting one of the plastic cvs bags from me.

      • FMCGIFT

MY CASHIER @ MAULDIN, SC, TOLD ME TO TAPE OR GLUE IT TO MY EXTRACARE CARD THAT WAY I WILL NEVER FORGET IT. I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON WHO & WHAT WAY THE WIND IS BLOWING THAT DAY. TRY A DIFFERENT CVS. BLETTER LUCH NEXT TIME.

    • Dtcox1

got my free bag tag and c light today cost me .2 what a deal to try wish all my deals was like this ha ha

    • Kpjarowberry

I got my free bag tag today, but my CVS did not allow the Crystal Light deal on the individual packets.  They called in the manager who told me the wording on the coupon was a misprint, and that it was valid only on the box.  :-(

    • Meldsilva1

Does it do any good to get a bag tag if you already have one? Does it count if you have 2 bags and one on each bag?

      • Pedspech

I put one on a bag and threw it in the back of my husband's car and left the other on one of the bags that I carry with me all the time.  If I happen to run in when I am in his vehicle or (heaven forbid) send him to grab something, I can still get the tag scanned.

    • Sierra_26

Got my free bag tag but my store doesn't sell individual crystal lights. Oh well I don't drink it anyway. :)

    • Guest

I got my free bag tag coupon today but like a dummy, I bought it, had them scan it, and was told that I can only have once bag tag per card………

    • Smoochthecook

My CVS told me to keep it with my ECB card as well and I do.  I always take my reusble bags in with me to stores anyways, but I know they will scan it anyways, because I've seen it done.

    • Sarah

I finally got mine tonight, had to keep scanning my card over and over haha. I only found the big boxes but I will go tmrw to look for the individual packs. my cashier said that even though it will only count one per day for the bag tag, if you go to a different store it counts them both. although the next closest one would use up more than a dollar amount of gas to get to anyways so it's not worth it for me

    • Guest

My store said they don't have individual packs of crystal light & they're out of bag tags. Oh well, I tried. This was my first time to go to a couponing web site. New to all this. Thanks!

    • Stacyannw

just fyi, i went to a cvs today, actually 2 diffrent ones, the first took my $1.00 off crystal light with now problem only having 1 ind pack, but the second scanned my coupon, it went through, then voided the $1.00 and overrided it with .50, it through me for a loop and i didnt say anything, i just found this odd because if have used 5 or 6 of these coupons this week and this was the first time that happened, and i did use one yesturday at the same cvs a manager checked me out and not only let that coupon go without an issue, he pushed through 2 $2.00 off revlon coupons for nail polish.

    • Wright11

So I am new to couponing and have a couple of questions.  1.  Can you use your bag tag more than once per day at same CVS?  Can you use it more than once per day if you go to different CVS locations in 1 day?  Also, since you can print double coupons at the kiosk can you use both of them on same day at same location or do you have to always use at two different locations on different days?  Thanks!

    • Debeyh

i went to Cvs to got a cvs card card to get coupons and scanned my card it said no coupons today try tomorrow .. is this normal ? i have never shopped at cvs before.
