    • shetang

This already shows no prints available for the Kodak. Boo hoo!

      • Lori B.

Check again. I just got the DVD coupon to print. Has anyone done this deal yet?

        • alliz

how do you do this deal? can you do it online – or is it instore only re: uploading the pics? i dont see the Kodak dvd option online.

    • keyrahollmer

Hey Jenny, The dvd coupon reads that there are no prints available for this campaign, is there a different way to get the coupon? Thanks!!

    • I know I couldn't get it either.. wah

    • Stacy

Do you know for sure that the $2.19 sunscreen gets you the ECB? There was no tag under the item showing the ECB promotion, but there were tags for the more expensive CVS sunblocks.

      • kashlea

My CVS said if there is no tag under it, it will not apply towards the ECB. :( Also, the FIG Newton has no tag under it as well. They are catching on!

        • guest

Your CVS said that b/c they don't want you to try something that might not work and then have to deal with the hassle of you complaining and returning the item if it doesn't work. Every once in awhile, items that are not advertised as being part of a sale will actually be included in the sale. Generally, many employees are clueless about these extra items being included unless they read blogs like this one or actually see a customer do the deal. Your CVS was trying to help you out, but they were wrong in this instance b/c it is something that they had no information about.

          • kashlea

            I will try it…thanks!

        • jessica

It will work. They either just didn't know, or lied to you.

          • kashlea

It worked! Very deceiving of CVS… Thanks!

      • Jana Lee

There were no tags under mine at the CVS in Chalkville, AL either, but Jenny has never steered me wrong before so I decided to be a risk taker today and try it. IT WORKED! Paid with my ECBs and got $5 in ECBs back for next week. Thanks Jenny!

      • ireneY

Deals like this are programming glitches. It may be pulled soon when CVS catches on.

        • Kay

Stores know about these deals. They do this to attract customers to the store, where they might buy other items. It is not quite bait and switch, but along the same lines.

      • kouponklippin

I was worried about that, too! But I had some ECB so I decided to chance it. There was no tag under the 2oz in my store, but I went up to the register and after I paid the .69 cents, the cashier didn't bat an eye and stated, “You have another ECB.” :)

      • Kim

I bought 2 of the $2.19 sunscreen & got the $5 ECB on my receipt! It wasn't marked on the shelf, but worked just fine! Thanks for the heads up on this one.

    • crystalfawn

I was just at CVS and noticed no tags for that size so I am wondering the same thing. I guess we will just have to be the guinea pigs and try. I guess I could return it if it doesn't print right? We live in Florida and can always use sunscreen.

    • Angie

The sunscreen had no tags, so I tried it, and I DID get the ECB back for it. The lady didn't want to take my fig newton coupons, but there was nothing on it that speified sizes, so she took it.

      • melissaherndon

The lady at CVS argued with me about the fig newtons. I asked her to please scan the coupon and it worked just fine. I am not going to that CVS anymore.

        • ireneY

The difficult cashiers don't work around the clock, so you should be able to avoid them by shopping during a different shift! Or you could check out at the pharmacy. Picking a good cashier seems to be part of successful couponing!!

    • Angie

Also, do they take competitor's coupons? I thought they did, and I tried a Target coupon, but she wouldn't take it.

      • astridholliman11

        I don't think they do.

      • guest

CVS does not generally take competitor's coupons. There are a *few* awesome stores out there where the managers have decided to take competitor's coupons, but it is not store policy so it's very very extremely rare to find a store like that.

    • Brandy

My CVS did not have a shelf tag under the small sunblocks. I went ahead and tried it paying for it with ECBs I already have and thought if it didn't work we can always use sunscreen. BUT it DID work! Thanks so much!

    • The sunblock worked for me but they were $2.39 each instead of $2.19 so that may vary some. If your CVS is anything like mine, at least half the sale items don't have a tag under them! Just give it a try. :) Check your receipt before leaving the counter and if you don't get it tell them you changed your mind and don't want them.

The Fig Newtons worked just fine. They're on sale – no ECBs involved so you're not going to see an ECB tag under it.

    • Joy

The sunblock deal worked for me, too, although there was no tag under the item. Thanks for the info on that one!
The Fig Newtons and Wheat Thins are 5/$5.00, mix & match w/other things too, so I bought the last one of each of them, and 3 other items, 5 total to be sure and get the $1.00 price. My coupons worked just fine on those 2. I'll do that again later in the week after they restock (hopefully) on Thursday.

      • amysanders

you don't have to buy 5 to get the deal…just so you know for next time. :)

        • guest

That's true – they only advertise it that way (5/$5) to try to get you to purchase a larger amount than you would otherwise, however with that type of pricing each one should ring up for $1.00 even if you only purchase 1.

    • septmac

The Fig Newtons coupons worked for me. Also, I did the sunscreen deal last night. The SPF 30 rang up at $2.19; somehow I snagged an SPF 15 for the second tube. It rang up $1.99 and I still got the $5 ECB. I don't typically use SPF 15 (prefer stronger sunscreen), but still made me smile that it was an even better money maker than I was expecting.

    • madpaulmom

I have never returned anything to CVS and I want to do the sunscreen deal, but pay with ECB's. If it does not print out the ECB's for the sunscreen purchase and I return it, will I get my original ECB's back? The girl at CVS today told me that only $4.99 and up CVS sunscreen would print the 5 ECB and I was nervous about using my ECB;s since she was being very …. not nice….about the whole thing.

      • guest

No, they do not give back the actual ECB paper coupon, however if you ever need to make a return of an item that you used ECBs to pay for, they are supposed to refund you your actual OOP expense in cash and any coupon/ECB value is supposed to be refunded on a CVS giftcard.

The girl at CVS told you $4.99 and up b/c that's what the ad says, however sometimes items 'work' for deals that are not really included by the wording in the ad. Store employees are often clueless about those 'glitches' unless someone actually shows them, or unless they follow a coupon site/blog such as this one or others and see people talking about the deal.

        • madpaulmom

Thanks. I figured as much, but never having done it…..
I knew that I wouldnt get the “original” ECB back, just trying to distinguish between the old and new ECBs and didn't use the correct wording. Nothing new there :)
The thing is, she would not even try since I wanted to make sure that I could get the ECBs from the smaller sizes. She was very insistent that it would not work, I was getting late for work, I didn't have time to squabble. I guess I should have. Maybe after work today.

          • jessica

Yep, they will give your old ecbs back on a cvs gift card if it doesn't work and you return it. I've had to do this before.

          • ziggy34434

Don't worry about it because it DOES work. I just did the transaction about an hour ago. No problems.

          • LeAnna

I just got back from CVS…and yes I did get my $5 ecbs on the travel size sunscreen. I have read that IF they did not mean to do that they may fix it. But I figured if ECB's did not print…I was going to return them(I am so cheap!) I even went to another cvs w/ my daughters card and did it…same thing-got more ecbs for here too!

          • madpaulmom

:::replying to myself…get a life girl ;)::::: I went yesterday after work to do the sunscreen deal. I had to go since it was my sons bday and I needed birthday wrap. I went to the coupon machine, got a coupon for $2 off $6 wrapping paper, bags, or tissue. Then I paid for that and the sunscreen with ECB's and got the 5 ECB back!! Yay me! And the SPF15 worked for me and they are $1.99 each.

            • sdshaw

Coupon machine? I am new to all of this. Is there a place to print coupons inside the cvs or were your eferring to something else?

        • Guest

im confused on this… do the 2.00 sunscreens automatically ring up with the ecb or do the cashiers have to put them on? or do they notice the “glitch” and remove the ecb?

          • guest

The only way for a cashier to 'remove' an ecb would be for them to manually rip it off of your receipt after it prints out. They can't do anything to the register to make it not print an ECB. They cannot even see what ecbs you're going to receive until they print out on your receipt. The cheap CVS brand sunscreens will automatically print the ecbs and the cashier will not know it until they come out on your receipt. It will probably be a surprise to the cashier unless they've been paying attention to other people's transactions.

P.S. I wonder how many different people post using 'guest' as their name…. LOL

    • Megan

I wanted to get the Fig Newtons but my store was wiped clean. Ditto with the UbyKotex. I did get Pampers for around 3 dollars with coupons and got more from the coupon center (free bag of M&M's!) . I know they re-stock on Thursday but when is the best times you've found to hit CVS for your deals? The lady checking out in front of me had a cart FULL including like 10 bottles of bodywash.

      • Nichole

I honestly go Sunday mornings when it is a great week and they are STILL SOLD OUT! So I just get rain checks and wait a few weeks :] :] Less stressful for me!

    • alunner

I'm new to this…what does ECB mean?

      • jilljova

Extra Care Bucks. It is CVS “play” money, Read the CVS getting started guide above

    • LollisMommy

You can also get Wheat Thins for free this week as well. They are 5/$5, use $1/1 printable by becoming a fan of Wheat Thins on facebook.

    • Thanks for the CVS deal on the sunblock! I'll have to make sure I stop in. :)

    • barbara

sunscreen & newtons good in e tx -eb-no problem

    • RebeccaFer

      I bought
      2 sunscreens
      2 boxes of fig newtons
      2 caramels
      used $4.98 ECB
paid $.06 + $.44 in tax (ughhhh tax!)
      got back $5 ECB!

      LOVE IT! Thanks Jenny!

    • Trudy

I purchased the $25 items to get the Avatar movie for $4.99 and when the cashier went to get the Avatar movie she advised me they were out and didn't know if they were getting anymore. This sale started 4-25 and I purchased all my items on 4-26. I got a raincheck on the movie but will another CVS honor my purchase?

    • Trudy

I scanned my CVS card for the extracare/coupons in the store and when I was done I noticed some more extracare/coupons left with the sales paper for addl items. These coupons weren't registered to anyone but is listed under “valued customer”. Could I use these coupons since no one elses name is listed on these coupons?

      • chrystalm

I have tried to do that and the register beeped at me. Luckily I had a nice cashier and he overrode it. It depends on the cashier. Technically I dont think you are supposed to. Even the valued customer coupons have that customers cvs number on the bottom. It may be a customer that has used their card but not updated their name w/ cvs in a while.

    • Nikki

I just did the sunscreen deal this am. Bonus was that I scanned my CVS card at the coupon printer and got a $2 off sun care so I snagged 2 of these and the fig newtons for $1.66 and then got the $5 back. Make sure you check to see if you get this coupon to print prior to checking out.

      • guest

Awesome – can't wait to go and scan my card!

    • Lidia

Look on Facebook also for the $1.00 coupon when you buy 2 Oreo or Nabisco cookies.

    • Brittney

Got the last to 2.19 suncreens at my CVS yesterday. I enjoyed the $5 ECB and no hassle what so ever. Thanks!

      • Teri

I was able to get the last 2 at my store. There was a lady in front of me that had printed coupons. She got large tide free and a 6 or 8 pack of Viva paper towels free. She also had 8.oo Purdee Chicken. Does anyone know where these coupons came from. There was someone in between us or I would have asked her. She probably thought I was stalking her while I was trying to look at her coupons !

        • guest

Tide is made by Proctor and Gamble and they do NOT offer printable coupons, therefore I'd say the lady that got the free Tide with a printed coupon had a fraudulent coupon. She may not have realized it was fraudulent, though – people make fake coupons and sell them on ebay and other places, and some couponers do not realize that it's very unusual for manufacturer's to offer those particular coupons. I've also seen 'alerts' about fraudulent free Viva coupons so I'd hazard a guess that the free viva multipack coupon was most likely fraudulent, too. If the casual couponer is searching ebay and finds these, they think they've found a great deal, not realizing that it's really not that hard for people to create counterfeit coupons and that the store is not going to be reimbursed for these coupons when a customer uses them.

          • Teri

Wow ! I wondered if they were legit !

    • whitneymb

I got the Irish Spring soap for free last night!! I am new to this whole thing and was very excited! At the last minute I found a coupon magazine I had been saving just in case and there was $1 off Irish Spring soap which made it free since you get $2 back in ECB! The magazine was the Smart Market. If you have one, look inside!

    • I looked all over for the trial size sunscreens and could not find them. Ended up getting the Sunstick for 3.99 each and with the 5ECB if made them 1.50 each.(my hubby uses these all the time) Where is everyone finding the trial size? Couldn't even find an empty slot where they shouldve been!

      • kashlea

The first CVS i went to only had one, so i just went to another a few miles away & they had lots on their shelves. My best advice would be to visit a few until you get it. Assuming it's not too much out of your way. HTH!

    • leighann7

Im new to the CVS couponing and although I have used my card several times, Im not sure how to redeem my ECBs. Is it a coupon that prints on the register reciept or do I just tell the cashier I want to use my ECBs?
I did get a $5 coupon from the machine in the store last time I was there! Can I get some advice? I have a new baby and it sounds like I can get some good diaper deals at CVS with the ECB!

      • nichole

It prints directly on your receipt and today my cashier had these lovely bright green stickers that stated ECB and placed them near my ECB's!

    • Jennifer

Does anybody know if the 2oz 15 SPF works on this as well. It is priced 1.99. This is all my store had. I was scared to try it. Has anybody tried that one yet?

      • kashlea

I will work…just picked up 2 & got the $5 ECB. Just check out as usual & wait for your ECB to print. If it doesn't you can always ask for a refund.

    • nichole

Yay, Sun block deal worked for me! :] :] :]

    • lisa

Can someone please explain this to me because being new to all of this I don,t fully understand how to do this idea.
I have tried using 2 coupons before like the example below and they said I could only use 1…thank you very much..I appreciate the advice

I hB Advantage Manual Toothbrush PG 3/07
      **Deal Idea**
      Buy: (2) Oral B 3D White Toothbrush $2.99 ea
      Use:
      B1G1 Oral B PG 3/07
      -$2 off Oral B Toothbrush PG 4/04
      Total Due: 99¢
Get Back: $2 ECB, you make $1.01 profit

      • Sarah

This is a total YMMV scenario. I have a CVS store here that has no issue at all taking 2 coupons like that – even if the register is beeping – but 1 CVS that does!! But I have heard that some people are having trouble with this particular scenario getting the cashiers to take both coupons. I had no problem at all though. The only thing you can do is try it at your own store, and if they won't take both coupons – you can always say that you wouldn't like to purchase them then!! HTH!!

      • katie jo

        to lisa….
you are able to use the two coupons in the toothbrush scenario, because you are buying 2 toothbrushes and gerring 1 free with the B1G1 coupon and using the 2 dollars off coupon on the toothbrush that you are NOT getting for free making your total 99 cents… hope that helps!

    • smap23173

      I love CVS! I just paid $.80 for 31 diapers (Pampers)!!!! :0)

    • Elizabeth

I live in Northwest Georgia – went to my CVS here and the $2.19 Sunscreen did not come with ecb, but the $4.99 and up did. They were all sold out of the $4.99 and did have the $2.19, but they wouldn't let me get that deal on the lesser one. Anybody else having that trouble?

    • Elizabeth

Jus went to my CVS today, I live i Northwest Georgia, and they would not let me have the $2.19 size of sunscreen when I buy 2 to get my ecb's. They said I would have to buy 2 of the $4.99 or above to get this offer. Has anyone else had this trouble at CVS?

      • Sarah

How would they not let you have them? I would have just purchased them anyway and the ECB's would have automatically printed. The CVS employees have no control if your ECB prints. That is just ridiculous that they said that!! I would go back and purchase them – not saying anything to the cashier about the ECB's – and they should automatically print!!

    • pickleplug

got my $5 ecb for sunscreen offer! Works on the small ones just fine!

    • pickleplug

oh, and Jennifer, someone's comment earlier said they did the deal with the 15 spf. I couldn't find it at my store :( but still love the 30 and size!

    • Beth

Went and did the sunscreen deal this evening! Went through w/o a problem! Thanks for the tip! :0) My CVS also had some killer clearance… got a 4 pack of Hanes socks for .49 cents and an awesome tote bag that came with an umbrella, lotion, make up bag, pillow, and a $1 coupon off any Essence Of Beauty product for $1.49!!! Nice! Thanks for all you do Southern Savers!

    • Yay, the kodak coupon buy1get1 is back!!!

    • shelly

My CVS took all the 2oz bottle off the shelf. No free sunblock for me.

    • Lisa

I am new to CVS'ing…I just bought the 2 oz. size sunscreen for $2.19 each and got the $5.00 ECB. YEA!! I also got free Fig Newtons and Wheat Thins using the 1.00 off coupons I printed from Facebook. OOP after tax- $4.71 and got $5.00 in ECB. I am hooked!

    • ASmith

got sunscreen no problem in Chesterfield VA

    • RachelButterfield

The 2 oz CVS sunblocks are NOT included in the ECB's deal. Didn't work for me, on shelf tag says 4 oz or larger.

    • Jennifer

Does anybody know if the sunscreen is still working today? I would like to get some tonight.

    • kim

The sunscreen deal worked for me (Suwanee, GA) and I got the Sport 30 SPF!!! I even used previously earned ECB to pay for it! I only had to pay 24 cents tax! YEAH!

    • villarica

We tried today and the shelf was EMPTY on the 2oz bottles of sunscreen. The clerk said it would not work on the 2oz, it had to be the 4oz or larger. My husband was not happy!!!! We did get the newtons for $.3 each.
      Villa Rica

    • cdhall

I'm in central FL and our CVS sales paper says you must buy sun screen 4.99 and up. I didn't try it cause there were none of the small ones on the shelf, but I don't think it will work here.
