We use all of our overages to cover household items we need like diapers, paper towels, detergent etc.  What do you buy with your extra CVS extracare bucks?

    • Meredith

      Formula!

    • Lisa

thanks for the headsup- will have to go before church to make sure they are in stock!!!

We buy stuff for Operation Christmas Child boxes with the overage.

    • Kristen

Will you be able to do this deal more than once or only once per CVS Extracare card?

      • Stacey

The ad says it’s limit one so it’s one per card.

    • Patti Lynn

Generally, I use my ECB to cover the next weeks drugstore purchases. Therefore my oop is only a $1 or under.
Kristen- yes you only get the ECB one per CVS card (I have one in my name and one in my spouses name).

    • heather

And, buy 3 and these count toward the $5 SC Johnson rebate, right??

    • Stacey

I’ll use the overage from the candles towards Cottonelle TP and Gain that is also on sale that week. I typically save ECB’s and use them towards household stuff or nutritional products like Ensure which my Dad drinks daily. Of course, my kids are good at asking for the $1 ECB’s to get some kind of treat or candy.

      • Kandrea

How can I find out in advance what is on sale for upcoming weeks?

        Thanks!

        • Stacey

IheartCVS.com or IheartWAGS.com has upcoming weekly ads posted. I know that IheartCVS.com has all ads for October posted.

    • Andrea

Thanks for sharing. Your post says you can use the Q on items 2 oz or larger, but the Q states that it excludes the 2 oz. Still appreciate all you do to help me save money!

    • I usually roll my ECBs and as they accumulate I use them to buy my extra Sunday newspapers!

    • Jen

I always buy milk – we go through it so fast and it is so often on sale at CVS that it makes it an even better deal. I figure I would have bought milk anyway – that it is like getting the item with the ECBs free. I don’t go every week. I only go once or twice a month when an ECB item catches my eye. So if I spend the ECBs on the spot to buy milk I guarantee that I won’t forget to use the ECBs before they expire.

    • Jenn

I usually roll mine, but if my children are with me, they usually get a special treat to share :)

    • Kristi

I just use them toward the next week so that I can continue to purchase with little or nothing out of pocket. I wish I could use it toward diapers, but they are priced at least $1 over Publix on the name brands and $1 over Target’s store brand.

    • allison

What is ECB? Sorry I am new at this. Thanks

      • Allison – ECBs are Extra Care Bucks. They print on your receipt when you checkout at CVS. Certain items generate them, and they work like cash at CVS. So, if you do Jenny’s deal and pay $3.49 out-of-pocket, you’ll get back $6.99 to use on other items in the store. They expire after a month, so you have some time to use them. And, if you use them to buy items that generate more ECBs, you’ll have a continuous supply of them to buy the things that you need. Hope that helps!

      • Stephanie T

        Allison,
Check out Jenny’s getting started guide here http://www.southernsavers.com/getting-started-guides/how-to-cvs/
It will explain the whole process to you.
For someone new to couponing, CVS is a good place to start, because their program is pretty easy to use. Just a warning, you will get hooked!!! Good luck.

    • Thanks I just printed the coupon!

      • Erin

I cannot print a lot of coupons online because it usually says no prints available. Any suggestions?

    • Michelle

I use mine to buy prizes for the BINGO that we have for the senior citizens once a month at my church. During all of the back to school sales, I used them to purchase additional supplies for the back to school rally!! Love “free” stuff!!!!

    • Melanie

I use mine to buy more newspapers for more coupons!

    • alison

I got my Vocal Point coupons in the mail yesterday for the cereal. Good deal.

    • Awesome!!! More free candles/diffusers for Christmas gifts!! I usually use overage to buy the Sunday newspaper or whatever else we may need, but I might buy more Christmas gifts with the overage I’ll have after this purchase.

      • Aymie

Me and you think alike!!! Nothing like free gifts to say Merry Christmas lol…
Between the free CVS photo albums, free Glade candles, free Publix bags, and now this, my family will have lots to unwrap :)

    • Sarah

Can you use ECBs generated by someone else’s card? I’ve noticed that mine have my name on them.

      • sharon

you can only use ECB’s that print from your cvs card.

    • I use my ECBs to roll for the next week’s purchases to have a low out of pocket expense. But sometimes, I use them to purchase diapers and wipes and toilet paper if I don’t already have it stockpiled from other places.

You can also get the weekly ad preview on afullcup.com or hotcouponworld.com. Sometimes they have it 2 or even 3 weeks in advance.

    • Tracy

I just tried to print off the coupon, and it told me that I have already printed the coupon the number of allowed times, except……I have not printed it even once (unless my husband has taken up couponing, and last time I checked pigs weren’t flying). Any idea how I could get one?

      • Shannon

I tried to print it and it said the same thing :(

      • lynn

I am guessing the print limit has been reached. I got the same message and even tried from my husband’s computer.

        • Denise.

Bummer, I had the same problem…

    • julie

When i use the link to print the coupon, it tells me that i have already printed it even though i haven’t. this happens with quite a few of the coupon links. anyone have this problem and know of any fixes?

      • Amy

Same thing happened to me. I guess we’ll miss out :(

      • MELISSA

IT SAID THE SAME THING TO ME :(

      • Amelia

Last Sunday there was a $3.00 off a glade fragrance collection in the paper. Also, Kroger has a peelie machine with them in it.

    • Lori

      I couldn’t print it either

    • HSV mom

I can’t find where it says the candles are on special at CVS. It is not in my flier, so how will I know for sure that it is on special at mine?

      • sharon

        This sale starts OCTOBER 18th!

    • Jennifer

Target in Greenville on Woodruff Road has the big 3 wick candles for $4.49 a piece, that makes them 99 cents a piece after coupon….I got two!!

    • ash

I have a question, how many of you guys have multiple cvs cards? i have one and i am wanting one in my husbands name so i can score two of these deas since the limit is only one. do the cashiers ever check your id? they have never checked mine. also- if you do have multiple cards do you ring up at the same cashier or do you check out at the pharmacy and then at the front? just wondering…

      • Anda

I asked the last time I was in and made a purchase if the limit was one per transaction or one per household, just for clarification. They said it was one per household. They did tell me that if there are two cards in the same household, such as you and your husband, it is a little harder to get the deal (I guess because of the card being registered to the same address) but some times (guessing more times than not) they can swing it. So I took this to mean that you could have two cards in the same house and get the deals on each card when the limit is one per household. I hope that this helps you out. :)

        • ash

          thanks anda!

    • Lisa

There was also a coupon for $3 off any multi-wick candle or scented reed diffuser from Glade in the 10/4 SS (mine was on the front page). You get .50 less in overage but you can save a little ink. :)

      • Anda

I think that I manage the 50 cents out of pocket. I have saved some money this week so I can spare the 50 cents :)

      • mandie

Thanks Lisa, you just made my night! I also couldn’t get the $3.50 but the $3.00 is awesome!!

    • So sad that the print limit has apparently been reached before I bought more ink; however, our Kroger stores (Paducah, KY) recently had (and may still have) coupon dispensers with $3.00 coupons so I guess I’ll be okay. :P

I usually try to just keep rolling my ECBs, but I splurged this week and used some to stock up on Cokes since they’re 3/$10 & we were out.

    • Becky

I’m very sad that I can’t get the coupons.. Print limit reached :(

    • I’ve been using mine to buy stuff for the battered women’s shelter. I’ve gotten a bunch of toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, etc. My next project is to collect stuff for Senior Services.

    • mandie

I send my extra goodies to Zimbabwe, I have a friend who goes there twice a year to help out an orphanage.

    • No prints left for the coupon. Shoot.

    • Aymie

      I have a question…
When it says limit one, that means only one will generate ECB’s right?
So if I have $4 ECB’s to rollover and a $3.50 coupon, the first one will be free, will generate the $6.99 and then I can buy the second one with the $6.99 ECB’s?? Can that work?

      • Ashley

You can’t get another 6.99 ECB though. So you want to use your previous ECBs to lower the price of the first one but you won’t be rewarded for buying two. You can always spend your ECBs on whatever you want. So if you bought two, you will only get 6.99 back in ECBs no matter how you bought them. I hope that helps!

If you do decide to do this- use two coupons. I wouldn’t because becasuse 3.99 is not a good price by itself for one of these. HTH!

        • Aymie

Will the second one cost $6.99 as well?
I am starting out with 4 ECB’s and a $3.50 off coupon for the first one…
That means I can buy the second one with the $6.99 ECB’s and not have a total and get two free, right?

          • Brittney

You can do that if you want. ECB are just like cash, they can be spent on anything in the store. Most people will use them on another item that has ECB or save them till next week. If you want 2 of the diffusers you can do that. you can also use another $3.00 or $3.50 mq on the 2nd one, and have overage on the ecb, and add a filler item thats like $3.00/3.50 and get it for “free” as well.
Unless you just want/need another diffuser, there is no need to buy another. It doesn’t produce a strong scent, and although i love getting them when they are free/mm I would not normally buy them.

    • Hello. I am new to this whole coupon-working-the-system thing so please forgive me for the newbie question…when I clicked on the link for the coupon I was told there wasn’t one…is that because it doesn’t start until the 18th?
      Thanks for the help!

      • Anda

This would mean that you did not receive the coupon because the print limit has been reached. :( There was a $3 off coupon in one of the inserts from this past Sunday’s paper.

    • Shannon

no more prints, bummer…but thanks for the tip about the $3 off

    • sara

I went to the link and it says no more prints? not sure will they add more later? New to this. Thanks.

    • If you go back to the home page, you can still sign up and get $3 off, do a backspace and get another one for a friend with an ECC.

    • Shirley

Coupon has been reloaded!!!!! I just printed 2. Get them before they’re gone again.

    • Lela

Coupon worked for me too. Thanks Shirley!

    • Katie

The coupon didn’t work for me last night, but I tried after reading Shirley’s message, and it works fine now, so those who did not get one may want to try again.

      • kim

They must have reset it. I just printed 2 coupons about 20 min. ago.

    • I just have a quick verification question. Go to CVS it says buy 20.00 worth of a certain item and get 5.00 ECB’s I have coupons also for the item and with the coupons it lowers the cost to say 16.00 this means With the savings coupons lowering the price I will not get the ECB’s Is that correct? I have to purchase up to 20.00 to get the 5.00 ecb. Thanks

      • Julie

your coupons save you $ out of your own pocket and you will still get the $5 ECBs (as long as “pre coupons” your total would have been $20)You can also use ECBs from another purchase to lower your OOP (Out of Pocket) This is why CVS rocks!

    • Saeweard

In sundays paper 10-04 there was a $3.00 off in the SS! Just FYI!

    • Dani

Last week I used them to buy a bump it! Best investment ever!

    • Erin

I am having a lot of trouble printing online coupons. It usually says no prints available. Any suggestions?

    • mel

I have a stupid question. where do I get the coupons to print and when do you print them? I have not been using coupons long and it its very much needed in this family. If I could get some guidance from the pros it would help me tremendously.

    • Donna

Bummed that I missed the 3.50 q. Seems to be my luck lately.

I use my overages and freebies to bring things to a local women’s shelter. Little things like good shampoo and body washes are a morale booster.
