As you enter a CVS store, your first mission should always be to find the “Coupon Center” in the store.  It’s really a giant sized price scanner but it prints coupons out too.  Scan your CVS card at the center, and 2-3 coupons will print out the side.  Step back for a few seconds until the screen clears and scan your card again to get another 2 coupons.

Now armed with 5 new store coupons your plans may change on what you thought you were going to buy.

This was the case for me this week.  I went on Sunday to get the awesome Huggies Diaper deal, went to the coupon center and all of a sudden I was off planning another transaction.  Everyone this week is getting a $3 off $10 Grocery Purchase store coupon.  The trick is, you only have one day to use it.

Here are a few deal ideas if you get the coupon and draw a blank.

My Scenario::

Buy:
(1) Snickers King Size $1
(1) Bottled Water 24 pk $3.19
(1) Cheez-It Bonus Pack $5.99
Use:
-$3 off $10 purchase
-.75/1 Snickers King Size (printed at the coupon center also)
-$4 ECB (from a previous transaction)
Total Due: $2.43
Get Back: $3 ECB (from Cheez-It’s)

I needed the water so in the end I got the cheez-it’s for free basically and only paid the price of the water.

Scenario Idea #2 (from Sean via email)::

Buy:
(4) Sobe LifeWater Drinks B1G1 at $1.59
(1) Cheerios Bonus Pack $7.99
Use:
-$3 off $10 purchase
(2) B1G1 Sobe printable
(1) .75/1 off Cheerios printable
Total Due: $4.24 (pay with ECB if you have them)
Get Back: $4 ECB (from Cheerios)

Scenario Idea #3 (from Rebecca via email)::

Buy:
(1) GoodStart Formula
(2) Gerber Baby Cereals $2.50
Use:
-$4 off $20 (if you have one)
– $3/$10 Grocery
-$5 Good Start Formula Check (these are mailed to you)
-.55/2 Gerber home mailer
Total Due:  $12.45
Get Back: $10 ECB
FINAL COST = $2.45 for Formula!!!

Another coupon many of you are getting is $3 off any “Seen on TV” product.  Look for Aqua Globes and you’ve got a Freebie!!

    • Cory

I use the $3 off ten like this:

      4 cans of Progresso soup @ 2.99 = 11.96

      3 Decks of kids flash cards @ 1.00 = 3.00

      Progresso Soups B1G1 Free

      Used

      $3/$10

      5 ECB

      2 .50/2 Progresso Soups

      Total after tax $0.15

    • ashley

sounds like some good deals, i wish the coupon printer in my cvs actually worked. For over a month now it has been “temporarly unavailable” to print out coupons.

      • complain to them – they fixed the one @ mine same-day when it said that. and i know someone else who called corporate and got one fixed in their store that their staff weren't taking care of. Too many good deals you'll miss out on if they don't get it fixed!!!

    • Donnatavo

I got one of the $3 off $10 grocery coupon. I also had a $1.00 off two packages of CVS napkins, which I needed. I had 6 BOGO Sobe coupons. And I had $3 ECB from 2 weeks ago. I walked out of the store with 2 packages of napkins and 12 Sobe lifewaters and only spent $0.42 OOP!!!! Most exciting trip yet! :)

      • Bryarsmom

That's the way to do it, Ashley!

    • amber

The $3 As Seen on Tv coupon is also great to pair with the $5 Snuggie coupon and the $3 off $10 purchase. The Varsity Snuggie is 14.97 this week -$11 in Qs and you have a snuggie for less than $4. Great, GREAT Christmas gift!!!

      • Donnatavo

But isn't the $3 off $10 only good for the grocery department? I didn't think it would work on something like that?

        • Freedomspradley1

I've found the “grocery” coupon works on about everything in the store. The only thing it will not work with is another $/$$ CVS coupon as I tried to combine it with a $5 off $25 CVS coupon and it beeped. I conceded as I knew I was getting a little greedy. :-)

          • Guest

why use a coupon wrong if it says food?

            • Dianne

I don't think it says food. It says grocery, so that goes beyond food. Think grocery store items.

      • Ddslowe

        what are q's???????

        • Esyke623

          Coupons

    • SweetDenia

Great tip about waiting a few seconds and rescanning – I've never tried that! I got a 20% off coupon through email yesterday that's good for this Saturday and Sunday. It said for “Top Customers Only.” :-D

      • Dianne

I got that 20% off coupon last weekend. It didn't sound great because it was for things not on sale. I made it good with 4 $3 off Wisk coupons. Paid $7.21 each for the first two that were BOGO, got the other two free, and used 4 $3 coupons! Made each bottle about .60! Did that with a few other things that weren't on sale but I had high $ coupons for! It was fun! I did this on Saturday night, so I got this week's deals. It's not too late for you to do the same if you have those coupons.

      • Michelle T.

I got a 30% off card last week and used it on some regularly priced items like specialty lightbulbs and the such that you can't score good coupons on. I got 90 bucks worth of stuff for 1.26 last week!

    • The $3 “as seen on tv” is great for $1.25 “bump-its” (hair product) that are on clearance. Cute stocking stuffers for teenage girls….or to use for yourself!

      • Katie B.

That's funny, they really range on price! My CVS had them on clearance for $2.50, then the next day I was at the CVS up by my SIL's and they had them on clearance for $5.00. I used my q on the $2.50 one, your's had it for $1.25?! Sweet!

    • Kristinlynne31

I have used the 3 off of 10 and got the following:

      8 sobe life waters
      cheezits pack
      pretzel m and ms

      used 4 BOGO sobe coupons
1 free m and ms pack coupon
      and 3 ECB
also the 3 off of 10 purchase.
      total oop?
      75 cents.

      Got back 4 ECB

    • Palmmirage

The Sobes count for food, so if you have enough BOGO's you can use the $3 on something else. (my store doesn't limit Sobe q's) I also used a $4 off $20. I ended up getting 24 Sobes and 2 covergirl eye liners for $2 out of pocket!

    • Jen

I took mine to Publix….makes life easy!

    • Gail Berger

what is the secret to getting the sobe water b1g1 free cpns????? i click i dont ahve a code. and then i choose a person and when i choose the character the screen keeps saying choose a character. so who should i choose???? i have been havig htis problem ever since the game started. Gail

      • ToddDu

I haven't gotten a loser in a long time. It shouldn't matter who you pick, I think the win % are way off

      • Donnatavo

My friends and I always pick either the blond or the black guy – whichever has a higher percentage.

    • Bryarsmom

I've done 2 $3/10's so far but I think I'll try the Cherrioes scenario next! Thanks!

I've also gotten 4 boxes Aquaglobes so far…

    • ireneY

The store manager that checked me out let me us it on Wisk, Stride and Snickers. She did not hesitate to take it and it didn't beep. You can rationalize that it's good on things normally bought at a grocery store?

    • PaulaB

I normally do one big transaction and save all my ECBs for the next week, bc I hate doing mulitple transactions…but I had to this week when I borrowed a friend's card for the Huggies. Every time I got a new coupon, $4 off $15, $3 off $10. Adding that to the $3 off $10 for the grocery, I got 4 cans of Progresso (B1G1), 2 packs of Orbitz (B1G1), and Cheetos, all for $1.77 and no Qs.

    • Patricia

How about free milk!!!!! I used my $3 off $10 for the SOBE + milk = $0.78

    • Tracey

Worked for me today too! I got 24 Sobe's, 6 Garnier shampoos and 4 packs of Trident and a large pack of M&M's. I used 12 Sobe water coupons, 6 Garnier coupons, 2 for the Trident, $3 off when you spent 15 and $3 off when you got $10 in groceries. I spent $13 and got back 6.99 in Extra care bucks. WhooHOO!

    • Nancy

I was lucky enough to receive two 3 off 10 and was able to get the Sobe's and 24 pk of water (Sun Mon Tues it was 2.99) for free. This week has been my best CVS week ever. I was able to get over $120 in free stuff. Paid less than $1 plus tax for all of it. (several trips to CVS) Today was my first day off from CVS this week. But now that I'm reading about the Aqua Globes, I'm feeling like I missed out on another good deal. How much are the aqua globes? I'm thinking they must be around 5.00 at least.

      • Tawanda

They are $2.99, but difficult to find. Good luck!

    • Hootiesoftball

      Patricia,

How many Sobe coupons did you need to do the deal for free milk (oop .78)? I want to do this deal today!

    • Freedomspradley1

The kiosk has been giving me $5 off $25 coupons very consistently. I've only been couponing since July but I have probably gotten about two dozen of these q's. I have 5 in my coupon book now. I have not let any expire yet. I manage to structure my transactions to be over $25 each time and once combined with ECB and other coupons I'm seeing major savings of 75% or better each time!! I've paid tax only many times and rarely are my transactions over $5 including tax. I got together with a friend of mine that also coupons and we got 6 bottles of Wisk for $2.47+tax.

    • Klb0121

4 boxes of Fruit Loops at 2 for $5.

$10 total minus $3 off grocery coupon Minus $1.50 off 2 GM Cereals (2 of these) I then had $4 ECB paid tax of .21 cents.

    • EB

Almost free single serve pizza if you have SOBE coupons:
      6 SOBE
      2 boxes of 2 Red Baron deep dish singles pizza@ 2for $6

      use
      3 sobe B1G1
2 $1 off any Red Baron from last Sunday's SS
      $3/10
      = OOP $1 +tax

    • Lori

Where do you get the Sobe coupons?

      • we’ve been playing the SoBe game for months now and it is almost over. but try sobe.com

      • Katie B.

The promo ends on the 14th, so you only have a few days left, but you go to sobe.com, and play their twist the cap game. You are allowed to play once per day. You twist the cap, choose a person, login with either facebook or an email address, and the minimum you win is a BOGO q, or you could win a q for a free sobe they mail you, or other prizes like an ipod or laptop, or flipflops… I’ve been playing every day for quite awhile now, so when CVS has their bogo sales, I stock up. The q’s expire on the 30th. If CVS runs out, get a raincheck, you can at least use the coupons you can print in the next 5 days.

The 3/10 is not to be used with a 4/20 or a 5/25. the machine beeps as it has for past 3 years. Just as e-mail says not with other cvs coupons.

      • Pinkandblackcrazy

I used 3/10 and a 5/25 plus a 4 dollar of huggies diapers and wipes and ECB in the same transaction I paid 2.10 for a box of huggies, 1 destiin, 1 J&J lotion, 12 sobe's and a big container of wipes

    • Guest

Is the Cheez-It Bonus Pack 5.99 or 7.99? different prices in the post above.

      • Cheez-it's are $5.99 and Cheerios are $7.99

    • anna

On the sobe waters in my paper ad said limit 6 are you getting more than 6

      • Ligia

I got 12 sobe waters today, and my store had a tons of this water…and no problems with the coupons

      • Marina115

I think it means 6 B1G1 deals. So that would mean you could get 12 sobe's and use 6 coupons to get them all for free. HTH

    • MySnellvilleBlog

I had no idea you could scan your CVS card twice. Thanks for the tip!

      • millie

i know you used to be able to, but about 6 weeks ago it started only letting me scan once a day, if you try a second time it says “no more prints availible today, check back tomorrow” but i am in alabama it may be different in other areas, good luck!

        • Kristi

I'm in Alabama also. I was getting the same thing this week. I received 2 sets of q's earlier this week and again today. Hopefully, you will start getting 2 sets again. Jenny, thanks for the ideas on the $3/10 grocery q's.

          • Kristi

sorry, correction to above message… I was getting the same message and only one set of q's until this week.

    • Ddslowe

I went to CVS in Port Wentworth and there were no Cheezits on sale. I even asked and they said they didn't have any on sale. :(

    • LF

sorry, but I cannot find the sobe coupons?? can you tell me how to get it? Or do you not need a coupon.

      • Carolinagirl1988

go to their website and play the cap game they have, you can enter an email and also a facebook id if you have one, that way you can print more than 2.

      • Donnatavo

And just something my friend who play and I have noticed – you will win 99% of the time by picking the blond girl or black guy on the far right of the couch. Whichever one of them has a better percentage above their head. Usually 28% or so.

      • Caity

Go to sobe's website and play their heads or tails game… you pretty much always win a b1g1 coupon :-)

    • Cjsmom1990

I got the $3 off $10 coupon and got:

      2 wisks at $8.99 each

      2 stride gums

      used:

      2-$3 off q for wisk

      1-b1g1 stride gum q

      1-$3 off 10.00 CVS q

paid $0.48 and got $0.99 ECB (for stride gum purchase)

      woohoo!!!

      • Cjsmom1990

Oops – the wisk is b1g1 for $8.99. not $8.99 each

      • Stacylynnsdesk

everyone keeps talking about the $3 off wisk coupon I can't find it anywhere! Even on some sites wherit says that it is a printable coupon, it gives me a $1 off wisk coupon. I really want to find the three dollar on. Can someone help m please?

        • 2 Ahouse

Take your CVS card to the store. Find the Big Red MAhice where you can scan your card. It prints out coupons!

          • 2 Ahouse

            oops, Big Red Machine

        • cattytat

The Wisk $3 coupon was in 8/29 Red Plum from Sunday's paper.

          • luci10

Don't think it was in our area's RP. Checked and rechecked. :(

        • swiss

It was in the paper coupon insert 8/29. Not sure which of the 3 it was in. I bought papers. Our Tops in Buffalo NY had 32 load Wisk 3x concentrate for $3.49 discontinued. I got 3 of them for $0.49 each!

        • Ready2Save

If u don't have that try coupon trader at SS. You would hear from people who has more and ready to share it for otehr coupons, box tops and stamps.

      • Amy

Was the $3 off $10 the grocery q? Is laundry detergent considered grocery?

    • Stephen

Buy 3 Sobe's B1G1 free and two milks at 2.99.

      It's like B1G1 Milk Free.

    • Christine

I bought 6 sobe and used the -3/10 then my B1G1. So the 3 came off the diapers I was buying in the same transaction. I was so excited, this was my best deal ever! A box of diapers, desitin, baby wash and 6 sobe for 15 cents OOP.

    • Mamakat

4 cereals ($1.77 each) and a milk using two $1 off 2 coupons for cereal and the $3 off 10. The register didn't seem to count the milk as grocery, but the cashier overrode it for me. Milk is definately a grocery item.

      • Guest

well some states don't allow coupons when buying milk so that was the problem im sure.

    • Ryan Elliott

The machine printed me off a $5 off $25 purchase and a $4 off $20 if you purchase Huggies diapers and wipes. So I used both of those on a box of Huggies diapers, a tub of wipes and 2 bottles of Johnson's baby soap along with a .50 coupon for wipes and 2 $1 off the baby soap…I paid $15 and got back $10 in register rewards. That brought my total basically to $5 for all items! :D

    • rstallion

Much confusion at CVS about what is considered a grocery item. I purchased tortilla chips, salsa, and soft drinks but these were not considered grocery items. I talked with store manager today and he had no clue what is considered grocery items. BEWARE!

      • Brooke82

Seriously people are using the grocery items coupon on everything it seems like! How can food NOT be a grocery store item? lol

    • Sunflowerfla

FYI- I thought I would try it on the Mars candy deal and it worked!! Woohoo and I got the $3 ECB.

    • luci10

I had a $10 ECB from buying diapers and 2 baby items (spend $25, get $10 ECB) when I also bought two boxes of Kellogs cereal at $1.77 each. Used $3.50 in coupons. Before I left, I got the $3 off $10 grocery purchase.

Next day at the kiosk got the .75 off King Snickers Almond, etc. Bought $10 of candy for an event this week and get $3 ECB back. Bought milk at $3.19 gallon (cheaper than any other area store at this time) and a $1 box of crackers. Total spent $.44 plus .78 taxes with $3 ECB back.

      • luci10

PS I almost forgot I used the $5 off $25 CVS coupon for the first transaction.

    • Amber

My store has the Bumpits on clearance for $1.25. I was able to get 2, plus have $.50 in overage for the rest of my purchase w/ the $3 off “As Seen on TV” products. I've never used these, but I know some ladies w/ longer hair who will be getting them for Christmas. :)

    • djw in GA

Question about CVS (and any other stores for that matter)…When there is a coupon for $x off $xx is that BEFORE coupons and B1G1 deals? I went out on my first CVS coupon spree (just started this week) armed with my $3 off $10 groceries and $5 off $25. I figured it would be after any in-store discounts and ended up buying more than I needed. In the end, I still got stuff I need/use and did save $$, but I think I learned a lesson the hard way.
On the plus side, I met a fellow couponer that let me peek at her binder and gave me a tip on local Sunday papers, and also met the sweet cashier at CVS that is a coupon fan. She even gave me two SS inserts!!

      • djw in GA

Oh, and reading through the comments below, could I have used my Sobe B1G1 IC in addition to the in-store Sobe B1G1?

        • Welcome to the world of CVS-ing! Yes, your $x off $xx coupons are always before coupons and taxes, but after B1G1 deals. And yes, you can use a B1G1 coupon on a B1G1 sale to make them both free. Be certain to give the cashier your $x off $xx coupons first.

        • Deshaine

Alwasy use your $/$$ Qs first… before MQs and SQs. Yes, you can use your SoBe B1G1 Q with the B1G1 sale… makes them both free.

    • Chrissy

I used my $3 off $10 groceries coupon by doing this:

+ 6 cans of Progresso (they were BOGO, at $2.99 per pair)
+ 1 large Starbucks mocha frappaccino drink for $2.79 (I work early mornings, and this is a treat)

      – 3 x $.50 off/2 Progresso coupons
      – $3 off groceries coupon
      – $2 ECB

Total: Roughly $6 (I threw out the receipt) Not bad! Treated myself to a luxury, AND got 6 days' worth of lunch :-)

    • Kaf2022

Is there an ECB deal on Cheezits this week? I haven't seen that anywhere?

      • Deshaine

It's not a “deal” like normal, the boxes are wrapped two together. When you buy the twin pack you get the ECB… ask a manager because when I asked a cashier, she didn't know what i was talking about. Luckily, I had seen them at another store and knew what to ask for.

      • lindy

yes, i just printed the 1.00 off 2 boxes off cheezits from snackpicks.com

    • kcreviews

I used my q today and got:
      Sunsweet Aprictos $2.50
      2 Brownie mix $1 each
      High Octane energy chew $1.99
      4 Sobe Lifewater $1.59 each

      Used $3/$10 grocery q and 2 B1G1 Sobe q

Total OOP: $3.81 with $1.99 ECB back!!!

    • kinsi

I went back again this week for my third trip, and got my third 3 of 10 dollars in groceries. Here's what I did today:

8 Sobe life waters (BOGO with BOGO Coupon)
The dual pack of indiana popcorn, cheddar cheese. On the label it said 4 dollars and get 1 EB Back, so I figured free popcorn. Turns out it printed out a 2 EB instead.

So, I got 8 life waters and 2 bags of popcorn. Spent 1.15 (with tax) and got 2 EB back. So, thank you CVS for paying me 85 cents to take 8 life waters and 2 bags of popcorn off your hands :D

    • Nikki

I went yesterday to buy some of the summer seasonal at 75% off and my $3/10 grocery coupon worked on it all! I spent $10 for $60 worth of summer stuff :)

    • Phyllis

Should u always get some type of coupon out of the machine? I have been there several times this week and made purchases, but every time i scan my card it says “no coupons check back tomorrow!” I know the machine is working because every one else is getting q's! This is the first week that i have never gotten anything! Has anyone got an answer for this?

      • Pianojess9

In our CVS, I always ask an employee…and each time, the machine has been out of paper! I wait.,..they replace the paper…and here come my coupons!

        Hope this helps:)

    • june

I've spent 2 days in the store staring at the “grocery isle” and could not find anything worth spending the $3/10 coupon on. I haven't had time to sit down and read all of these great posts, but I did find what I thought was a deal today. There are 4pk of pepsi cans by the register for .99. Really bad price, but I had 2 sobe coupons to sweeten the deal. I got 28 cans of soda and 4 sobe for $3.80 including tax. The sobe was .22 for the tax so that means I got 1 case plus a 4 pack of soda for $3.58 incl tax. I'll call that a good day. LOL

BTW, today was the first time I had the coupon machine tell me there were no coupons for me today. I see I'm not the only one.

      • june

Sorry for the redundancy in words in my post. The last 2 days have been non-stop running for me.

    • Goochette03

when I went on monday I got 4 cans of progresso soup-used my $3/$10 printout coupon then my pregresso coupons :)

    • Patscoups

I'm a little frustrated. I just spent the entire day trying to find the coups and figure out if I needed stuff that was on sale. Now am I getting that you just go in each day and get your print out and spend $10 with coups each day?

    • Patscoups

Two more questions from this newbie:
      1. When I get to the register do I buy the stuff that earns ECBs first and then go back for the other stuff so I can use the ECBs? Or do you organize your cart somehow so that you know what you have to pay for first?
      2. You say to give your coups to the cashier in a particular order. You just give him/her each set one at a time? Like

      • tori729

I would recommend reading the CVS FAQ on the CVS page (on the left side). Hopefully that helps answer your questions!
