Learn How to Shop at CVS: This weeks trip

Have you grabbed the awesome paper towel deal at CVS this week?  I love the chance to stock up on paper goods at a price that seems amazing to others.    It’s so easy to grab these deals and you really shouldn’t let yourself be so scared of doing drugstore deals that you never try it.

Here’s what I did today:

Bought:
(3) Sparkle Paper Towels, 8 rolls, $5 ea.
(1) Crest Pro Health Toothpaste, 4 oz, $2.99
Used:
-$1 off Sparkle paper towels, July All You magazine
(2) -$1 off Sparkle 6 roll+, RP 9/29
-.50/1 Crest ProHealth toothpaste, excl trial size printable
-$10 ECB
-$4 ECB
Total Due: 52¢ (after tax)

Got Back: $7 ExtraCare Bucks ($5, $2)

I had a number of ECB’s that I know anyone starting out won’t have.  That’s okay.  When you first start “CVSing” you will have to pay with real money for the first few transactions.  After that though, you will have ECB’s from a past transaction to pay for your current one.

If you are new try this:

Buy:
(1) Crest Pro Health Toothpaste, $2.99
Use:
-.50/1 Crest ProHealth toothpaste, excl trial size printable
Total Due: $2.49
Get Back: $2 ECB

Buy:
(3) Sparkle Paper Towels, $5 ea.
Use:
-$1 off Sparkle paper towels, July All You magazine
(2) -$1 off Sparkle 6 roll+, RP 9/29
-$2 ECB (you just got)
Total Due: $10
Get Back: $5 ECB

You spent $12.49 on your first trip to the store, but you now have $5 in store money to buy things next week. That basically means you got 4 items and only spent $7.49 for them, or $1.87 each.  When was the last time you got a pack of paper towels for $1.87??

Guess what?  Next weeks deals are already up, so start planning now what you will spend that $5 on.
