    • Kelley

I can't wait to hit the store on Thanksgiving!!

    • Crafty_cat_86

Wow. Amazing how you multiplied 3 ECB into 12 for pennies and got a bunch of free stuff!

    • Mizmeechie

Thank you for the heads up! I'm carrying $17 in ECB and I'm gonna clean up on Thanksgiving!

    • Chrstyamyrs

And this is why CVS is my beyond favorite store!

    • Kendrick5988

Is it better to do seperate transactions for all of these? Or is it the same if you do them in one? Not new, just still getting my feet wet!

      • Pinkandblackcrazy

It depends on how many ECB you are starting with. It is better to break it down into more than one transaction if you do not have a lot of ECB to spend less out of pocket. I have about 20 ECB so i will probably only do 2 transactions.

      • carrie

I personnally think the $ is the same when all is said and done so I do one transaction per visit and save all ECBs for future trips. I think it saves time and hassle.

    • Srhtabor

What time does cvs open on thanksgiving?

      • 24 hour stores will never close! For other stores they will differ so just call your store this week and ask.

        • Srhtabor

          Thank you

    • Skim

Nothing due, nothing due, nothing due, 2 pennies due, nothing due….. I love CVS Extra Care Bucks.

    • Kristin

There is an internet coupon from a few weeks ago B1G1 Edge Shave Gel.

      • I have that one! It expires on 11/30 and I've been waiting for the right time to use it! :)

      • Fgavent

It looks like the Edge Shave Gel is $2.99 online. If I use 2 B1G1, then I will be buying almost $12. I am going to buy several boxes of Playtex tampons (to donate to Pregnancy Care Center) to reach the $20 total to get $10 ECB… Just an idea.

    • MatthewFox

As a former retail slave, please don't shop on Thursday. I worked 3 thanksgivings for my retail career and we were pretty much doing 0 business. Let's get stores to the point of giving employees the holiday to spend with their families! I know the deals are great, but lets be considerate :)

      • NancyMac

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am visiting my mom now because I have to work on Thanksgiving and won't be able to see her!

    • JKS

Will they really allow you to do 7 transactions at a time? I felt bad doing 2 today at RiteAid..I'd love to take advantage of these freebies, but I don't want to make anyone angry! Does anyone do multiple transactions regularly and not catch flack about it? Thanks!

      • Nana007

I have done multiple transactions and if a line forms behind me, I usually let those behind me go ahead and I get back in line to do my next transaction.

      • L Sherrill

yes they will cvs cashiers are wonderful i do multiple transactions all the time to be considerate of other customers i always let them go before me or in between transactions

      • lindap

I do multiply transactions almost every week. I have a handicap father and a sister to takes care of him that I shop for, in addition to myself. I will usually shop for all 3 of us at the same time (I take 3 shopping bags and put each of our purchases in the appropriate bag, along with the coupons). I go to check-out when it is not busy. When I check-out, I let anyone waiting in line behind me go before me between each checkout, that way the customers nor the cashier get mad about waiting or the customer backlog.

    • Katkoupon

I haven't been out on Black Friday for years, due to Wal-mart experience several years ago, followed by working at Wal-mart on BF when the sales started…omg! Anyway, this will be my first Black Friday shopping at drug stores, planning on Friday morning. I am hoping it will be less chaotic than the superstores. Can anybody give me a heads up on what it may be like??? Nervous, lol.

      • Katkoupon

Also, do they get really stocked up on these freebie items? Are the items found in the normal locations, or special displays?

      • jen

it varies from store to store, one walmart i went to two years ago was a mad house . they wouldn't let you get anything until 5 am . last year i went to a different walmart . we got there at 3:30 , got to shop and put sale merchandise in our buggy but not ck out till 5. overall I have been pleased with my bf trips. looking forward to this year !

      • NC_angel

I've only done BF at CVS a couple of times, but me and my sister go on Thursday morning and we've been the only customer in the store both times. It was very relaxing, I suppose no one knew CVS started their sales on Thanksgiving.

    • sarahcas

You can use the $2 off 1 Clairol family coupon from the 10/31 PG for the herbal essences shampoo because herbal essences is part of the Clairol family.

      • Tammy

I did this last week and it went through. Jenny please post this too.

      • Ida

Some stores take it some don't, I shopped 3 rite aids this week. It didn't beep at only one of them and they took it the others did not. I don't know if cvs has has this problem or not. Just be aware before you go. I had the $1 herbal essence as a back up incase it didn't work.

      • Nackle78

i heard about that too, this week they are giving back ECBs. I need to go in there and try it!

    • Julz1130

I'm so looking forward to shopping at CVS this week! I got a FREE $25 gift card when I had a new prescription filled this week, a $2 gift card from using a FREE app on my iPhone, & a coupon in my email today for $5 off a $30 purchase. Can't wait to spend CVS's money!!!!

      • Kristy

        what app?

        • Julz1130

The app is “CheckPoints”. And, if you have any problems with it not letting you check in or scan a product make sure to report the problem. Because I wasn't able to check in when I was standing inside a CVS store. They replied the next day, apologized, said the problem was fixed, and added 100 points to my account.

          • shaz

where do you sign up for check points?

      • Greatdanejes

What's the app that you used?

      • shaz

how did you get that I have been looking all over for that.hep

    • Bamacat

For the stores that are not open 24 hours, does anyone know if this sale will be active Wednesday night?

      • guest

It wont. The sale will be active on thursday. cant activate the sale early

        • Doitmyselfmom

So what time do the sale prices begin on Thursday if it's a 24 hour store?

          • Sean

            midnight

            • Nackle78

interesting! we have a 24 hr store in our area and a regular one. I never thought of getting a “jump start” on this sale by going to the 24 hour store first. thanks for the idea!

    • luci10

Some of you might get the $3 off Prilosec at the CVS kiosk.

    • Fallaya

Too bad I'll be out of town during the Black Friday sales!! I just might leave my Extra Care card and a shopping list for my boyfriend so he can do some shopping for me in my absence!

      • branmuffin

with 7 transactions? your man is better than mine! He would NEVER……maybe 2 but not 7!

    • Hmschmom1

I love this list! You have been given a very special talent. Thank you for sharing.

    • Caritob40

wow…I have like $26 in ECB from this and last week…..YAY!!!…Thanks Jenny…you really changed my life..lol….God bless you!!!

      • SmoochTheCook

Ooooh, I wanna shop with YOU! :)

    • Snowski824

In regards to Rogue Magazine coupons: How do you get a printed version of this magazine with coupons? I tried to sign up and all I get is emails from them, no magazines?

      • Katkoupon

I haven't gotten one yet either, but did I read that this is a quarterly magazine??? Can't remember for sure…

        • Jeri

I signed up online and get it in the mail once per quarter.

    • Sedwards

Can You tell me how the following is Owing Nothing or are u using Extra Care Bucks and forgot to Put it down.

      Transaction #1

      Buy:

      (1) Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste $3.99

      Use:

-$1 off Colgate Sensitivite Toothpaste SS 11/14 or printable

      Total Due: nothing!

      Get Back: $3.99 ECB

      • Auburnbride04

She is using 3 ECB from last week.

      • Rondalancaster

She states that she started with $3 ECB

    • TC

Does anyone know if there is a coupon out for a new prescription? Thanks in advance! :)

      • Whitney

I've have recently gotten 2 coupons (for a $25 gift card when you fill a new or transferred prescription) from the in-store coupon machine. You should stop by and scan your card to see if you get one.

      • Mikeandmarcieblack

target's ad had them last week. my cvs honor's competitor's q's for prescriptions. lol-my sinus infection paid off!

    • Kb

now this is a cvs week I can get behind! lately, its been too slow for me to go.

    • Barbara in SC

Let's just hope they actually stock the stuff that is on sale! Our store is “always” out of all the ECB deal items. It would be nice if I could pull off these scenarios and use the leftover ECBs at Publix!

      • Mcleodsc

I could not agree more! My store is also always out of all the ECB items. I get rainchecks but it messes up any purchases I have planned out. I cannot come up with a NEW scenerio right on the spot. I used to shop there every day but now only one or two times a week. I hate wasting my time.

        • carrie

This is exactly why I prefer CVS over WAGS. Since the ECBs last a whole month, I always get to use them before they run out. Therefore instead of having to come up with scenerios like at WAGS and have one item out-of-stock mess up my whole plan, I just get what's there, pay in one transaction, get rainchecks for whatever is out-of-stock and go my merry way. I still think, in the end whether I do scenerios and have less OOP this trip or do one transaction and save my ECBs to have less OOP the following trip, money wise, it works out the same.

    • Guest

this is my first year doing any like black friday deals. When you get back 3.99 for the colgate or something do you actually get 3.99 or do they round it up to 4? Just curious since normally when i got a product that gives back like 2.99, i've alwasy just gotten 3. Thanks :)

      • Katkoupon

They do not round, not that I've seen anyway. If the ad states you will receive $3.99 in EB, you will get exactly $3.99 in EB. hth

        • Jbush27

Yeah, they don't give you more than what they say they will give you. If it says 3.99 you get an ecb for 3.99

      • Kim

If you have a raincheck for an item, one cashier told me that they can't enter change manually for the ECBs with rainchecks – this is the only time they have rounded them up.

    • Mslonas

Oh, Im soooo excited!! Those will make GREAT stocking stuffers….I do have to agree w/ Barbara in Sc….my CVS seems to always be out of ecb deals,,,so Jenny are you saying we should get there first thing on Thanksgiving morning??

      • Melissa

I get rainchecks almost every week. I'm in a small town and I think everyone coupons because the sale stuff is almost always gone the first day of the sale. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks to get the stuff back in, but at least you still get the deal. (I've also read that if you have coupons, to keep them even if they expire because CVS will honor them, but I haven't ever had to deal with this yet, so I don't know for sure.)

      • carrie

I would say go whenever is convient for you and get rainchecks if you have to.

    • WynetteC

This is so exciting.. looking at all the possibilities of freebies!!! It's like the grown up version of the day before Christmas!!! lol :D

    • Elizabeth

Question about using coupons. I'll use the colgate toothpaste for example…

$3.99 ECB WYB Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste 6oz., at $3.99 Limit 2

-$1 off Colgate Sensitivite Toothpaste printable

-$1 off Colgate Total or Sensitive toothpaste, 4 oz +, SS 11/14

-.75/1 Colgate Sensitive product, October All You magazine

      (makes it FREE plus profit!)

Can I use all these coupons on this item or just choose one? Thanks!

      • Barkleybabe_4

If you buy 2 you can use 2 of the coupons but if you only buy 1 you cant use more than 1 coupon. she just has those 3 listed so that way if you dont have the october All you or you dont have the ss 11/14 then maybe you can print it. shes just showing you all the possible ways to get that coupon.

    • Rae

WARNING: if you are in front of me on the way to work and try to do 7 separate transactions in a row, I will likely have a heart attack right there in CVS….however, feel free to join me at 11pm when the store is empty and take your time!!

      • brenda z

hahaha. true dat! I'm pretty sure that most people know how to be respectful with this sort of stuff. If there's a line or only 1 person open or something, I wouldn't do more than 2. And I ALWAYS let smeone in front of me when they just have a few items. And sometimes I'll do 2 transactions then head to the back of the line. But I plan to go thnaksgiving morning at 6am so hopefully no line :)

        • Bkbbmullins

It never fails our CVS is packed and there's ALWAYS only 1 lane open. I really don't end up CVS's too much for that reason. Or I just do 1 transaction, pay and end up w/lots of ECBs. And last time I was there the cashier rudely said to me, really you're buying all of this just to get $10 in ECBS? When I handed her enough ECBs to pay for the transaction and still got my 10 ECBs, I said, Now, see why I did that???

          • Mjclark1977

Some people (cashiers) are just going to say something without thinking before they speak. It is a free country where we can rightfully use coupons, and if they don't like it, then too bad!

      • Bradyfigueroa

I just have to say…when someone is behind me in line…I do one transaction and then go to the back of the line :-). Luckily, I haven't been caught behind too many people doing multiple transactions.

    • rocio2574

I very new to cuponing but in the colgate deal I will get back ECB but I will still have to pay 2.99, right?

      • Sam

yes,but if you pay with ecbs it is good profit

    • Leeanneowens

I bought the $25 in proctor and gamble products to get the $16 off theToy Story 3 dvd. Of course the dvd wasn't in and they haven't gotten any in since and when I called my store this morning they told me there was no guaranty that they would get any more. So I called my areas district office. The lady was very nice. She said she would try to track one down for me. She called me back within 20 minutes and had found one for me at a store a few towns away and she told me it will be in my store tomorrow. That is great customer service!

      • Thestapletons

Yeah. I did the Iron Man 2 the first week they did a promo, but they were out so they issued me a raincheck. The manager at my store was going to go purchase me one from another store and then give it to me for the raincheck price. I told him I would wait for a while and see if they got some in, luckily a few weeks later they finally got a few of them in so he held me one.

    • sandraj

I love CVS on Black Friday. Prescription coupons were in target and kmart flyers this weel. I was told cvs will honor them. YEAH!

    • Beth Walker37

my first reaction to this was, “she was right, the whole store is FREE”

    • Matt

Bleh, I want Biore but all the printable coupons have been used

      • eyeshadow17

no ended up getting one. i signed up for that biore 2 week skincare challenge and they sent one to my email. if you click her link above it says they have been used. you have to dig for the 2 week skincare challenge and you will get one.

    • Sheila

I just got a keep family covered booklet from cvs in the mail with

      .75 off any dove deodorant

1.00 off dove men body wash or bar

      2.00 off any axe hair

1.00 off any caress wash or bar 6-pack

      1.00 off any vaseline 10-24.5oz

.75 off any 2 unilever foods

      all expire 12/17/10

Hope you all get them too!!!!

      • shaz

        how did you get that?

        • Sheila

I don't know it just came in the mail.

      • Jeri

I got this one too. Wish it had arrived before I used my ECB limit last Sunday on the peanut butter but still plan to use them in the next few weeks!

    • Tracy

Does anyone know if handing ECBs before coupons really reduces your tax or total? Does it matter which order you give ECBs/coupons in?

      • Fgavent

I still have not figured out how CVS computes its sales tax but it considerably reduces the sales tax to give ECB's before the rest of items are scanned (ie if my OOP is $10 then I have the clerk scan $10 of product, give ECB, then scan rest).

I give the $5/25 etc. coupons when I reach the $25 total and then use the ECB's, then scan rest of items, then give coupons. If you give ECB's at end, then coupons – you seem to be paying sales tax on the total amount of your purchases. If you give $5/25 coupon, then ECB's, then scan rest, then coupons, you are paying sales tax on the net total.

I am not explaining this very well but it has been a big savings on sales tax. Make sure you know what your OOP is going to be before you try this or you can really mess things up.

        • Jrenee

Thank you for trying to explain this! Depending on which store I shop at, I can pay as much as 10% sales tax. So this should really help me out!

      • Sarah

Handing over the ECB's before other coupons can “eat” into your tax. For example, I bought the Oral-B toothbrush this past week for $22.99. I handed them $14 in ECB's and then the $10 off coupon. My total was $24.14 and ended up costing me $.14!! I chose to “lose” $1 in ECB to pay down my tax. Hope that makes sense.

    • Jlhiggins1527

Xtra Laundry Detergent $1.00 Q in Dollar General SS Coupon Machine.

    • Paula5764

Just got back from CVS. Listerine pocket packs (the 3 pack) had no ECBs and was not 2.99 but 4.99. You could get 2 for 4.00 each, but still no ECBs. Is the CVS near the mall on Lake Murray Blvd different from the others?

      • Jcjel

This sale doesn't start until next Sunday and that particular deal doesn't start until next Thursday (Thanksgiving Day).

      • Mjclark1977

This ad doesn't start until 11/21 right? Do some CVS stores start their ad early for the week? I have heard of some starting the sales Saturday evening?

        • Acouponqueen85

My CVS starts the sales on saturday afternoon! Check with your location.

        • Ejkstarkey

If your CVS isn't a 24 hour store, there's a good chance that they start honoring the Sunday ad at 6pm on Saturday night. I'm not sure if that'll be the case with Black Friday ads.

      • Amy L

These sales start on Sunday, 11/21 (tomorrow)

      • Sarah

If you look at Jenny's list – it shows that the Listerine Pocket Packs are on sale with ECB's from Thurysday-Saturday of next week.

    • Ck08

Will they give rainchecks for the thursday- sunday items or is like all other black friday deals..1st come 1st serve?

      • Stacyg

The ad states “no rainchecks will be issued for items not normally carried by CVS”. That being said I have still been denied because they refuse to give rainchecks on 3 day sales. It depends on each individual store.

        • sandra

hmmm, that was my plan. These arn't special items like when michals has christmas trees or kohls has a specific sweater, these are toothpaste and shampoo they always carry, they should raincheck it unless they WANT chaos ;) THey already have limits to the cards, so they're all set!

    • Owensnmb

will they actually allow you to do 7 different transactions?

      • sarahcas

They should let you. They'll probably want you to go to the back of the line after each transaction, though.

        • kidsallgone

I went to cvs on Thursday and had a buggy-full! I let at least 5 customers go in front of me and then I had a quick and fun transaction. I bought 4 L'Oreal cleansers and 2 face powders, 2 blushes, 4 mentos gum, Hydro razor, 2 Hydro shaving gel, 3 J & J red cross travel kits, fiber one bars, power bars, cottenelle moist wipes, and maybe a few other things….and after cvs & manuf q's, my subtotal was $.82!! AND….I got a $4 and $3 ECB on my receipt! YAY!!

        • Amy

          Especially on Black Friday! :-)

    • Sarcasticangel_82

i dont have to use filler items here do i…if i have one item and one cupon ecb's are not considered cupons? this is ony at Walgreens right?

      • no spend dad

Thats right. Thats what i love about cvs. No hassle like Walgreens trying to figure out coupons and how many things your getting!

      • Missbatting

        right…only at Walgreens

    • JOSELIE1982

IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY PRINTABLE COUPONS I CAN USE AT CVS?

      • Michelle

        not that i'm aware of.

    • Veganpadua

Did I hear someone say they use ecb at publix?!?

      • Cori

        Nope

      • Acouponqueen85

We can use them at my Publix

    • Vachell

does it matter what time you go into cvs on saturday to strt getting extra care bucks for sunday

      • couponmom

It varies by store. Here in Pelham Al it is 2:00 pm now. :)

    • Amacottrell4

how can you use expire coupons

      • eyeshadow17

        you cant

        • kidsallgone

My cvs lets me use them up to a month after expiration :)

    • knc

so excited that all 7 transactions are shown. thanks!

      • Alexmccarrell

I am new to the cvs couponing world and have a question…so each transaction you have to start over right…so doesn't that upset the cashiers and the people in line behind you?

        • Nancy

Most cashiers are willing to work with you on the number of transactions & are very understanding. I'd suggest (along with many others) if there are people in line behind you, go to the end of the line after each transaction. :) Most often than not, I'm the only person in line & it takes only a few minutes to complete all the transactions.

        • couponmom

It can upset people. You just have to learn which cashiers are nice about it and try to use them as much as possible. About the other shoppers, trying to go at a time when it isn't too busy is helpful and I have stepped out of line a few times to let people go ahead before I continue with mulitple transactions…I usually don't do more than 3 during one visit. (Tip, if the pharmacy isn't too busy try checking out there for one of your transactions, especially when buying otc meds, then take the rest to the front register)

        • Julie

Hi .I have to say my CVS in Washington NC is the best . The cashiers and managers are awesome ,and are so patient and helpful with me and my many transactions and coupons.I usually try to go in there when it is not so busy .and let others go in front of me if I have many transactions ,which are holding them up.

    • SmoochTheCook

I stopped in at CVS today and the cashier gave me 2 of the holiday books, so now I have 3 of the $4/20 coupons!!!!!!!! Just a thought…might grab some if you stop in before BF!

      • stacyg

you know you can only use the $4/20 coupon ONCE per card right?

      • Sarah

Stacyg is correct that it is only 1 per card – as it will show up at the bottom of your receipt as “Limit Reached”. And also to clarify that it is a coupon to receive a $4 ECB when you purchase $20 of items. It is not a $4 off of a $20 purchase. HTH

    • Mdobbs1004

thanks for the help with this add !

but does anyone have a senario deal for walgreens yet?

walgreens is so difficult to figure sincew they have so many deals and rulles with the RR

    • FREE HUGGIES DIAPERS scenario! I came up with a scenario to get FREE diapers starting on Thursday. If you want to see what I'm buying click on “cleverly simple” above and then “diaper deals” or “CVS” in the menu bar. I hope that makes it simple for you. : ) YAY!

      www(dot)cleverlysimple(dot)com

    • I just posted my scenario. Click on “cleverlysimple” above and then “walgreens” on my menu bar. I hope that helps!

      www(dot)cleverlysimple(dot)com

I agree with Walgreens being a bit more complicated. They do have some super great deals starting Thursday, though!

    • i have one question…. who really needs all that crap?? I mean just to get back ecb? anyone know of a place just to get OOP tips

      • ireneY

You may not need it NOW, but most couponers have mini-drugstores in their own house. I've been sick the last week and all the Nyquil from last year and cough drops last few weeks came in real handy. No late night drives to pick up needed items at full price! :)

Plus, you can always donate the items.

      • Lambda

I hear you…. but I also donate items to service men and women who could use a good bottle of lotion in the desert… or to homeless shelters so free is free to me or someone else. Happy Thanksgiving

      • Becky

I know I will be using shampoo and conditioner and deodorant and toothpaste. For less than 3.00 including tax…I will buy anything that I won't have to pay full price for in the future. It's a real no brainer to me!!!

      • renamac

Does your family wash their hair, get chapped lips brush their teeth , listen to music ? If they do then I am sure they could use some of the stuff listed if not then leave it in the store for those of us who do wash our hair. Plus you know there is always someone so much more less fortunate than we are it just feels great to be able to get a goodie bag or box and fill it up and give it to someone who is having a hard time making ends meet.

      • Doitmyselfmom

When you do a transaction that returns ECBs, you can then use the rest of those ECBs to pay for the rest of your stuff! It's a different concept in shopping than most traditional shoppers use…instead of running to the store to buy some deodorant or shampoo and paying whatever the sticker price is on that particular day, you buy it when it is at its absolute cheapest and have it on hand. It puts an end to middle of the night runs to the nearest store when your husband forgets to tell you that he's out of deodorant or body wash! For an original investment of only a few bucks, you can forever have free toiletries and even laundry detergent, drinks, snacks and whatever they sell at CVS! Does that not sound good to you? Plus, like others have said, it's nice being able to do a kind deed for others when you make donations to food pantries, homeless shelters, and the like.

      • Lori

If the store said, “We will give you $5 just to walk in our door!, would you feel happier? It is enough for me that it is free money. What I don't use, I give to the nanny, my employees, my friends, the local church, the battered women's shelter…

I don't believe in giving money unless I know specifically where it is going. This way, not only do I know how much impact my dollar has, but I am better able to provide for my family as well.

And just as an example – Before couponing, I spent at least $100/month on diapers for our triplets. These last several months, I have been able to get at least half my diapers for free. That freed up money for me to purchase clothing and shoes for myself, something I had not done in three years. Our pantry is full. The christmas shopping is done. I could go on….

      • theteacher

I get all of my canned cokes for free by working the deals at CVS. I have places I donate “all that crap” to people who really appreciate free body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, razors etc. That stuff gets expensive to those who must pinch pennies. My family loves raisin bran crunch, CVS usually has the best deals, again I get it usually free because I use the CVS “play” money to pay for it. I make that play money by working the deals. Yes, these deals do require some time and preparation but I found I enjoy my coupon addiction and many others benefit from it.

      • Freemn4

I think your comment is a bit weird. You really don't know who needs deodorant, shampoo, lotion, toothpaste…… etc? Most people use such items and are more than happy to get them for free. If you don't appreciate a deal, then this isn't the site for you.

      • Sorry I get a tad annoyed when I see 8 transactions to buy 9 things. Doesn't the clerk? I also feel if it is a needed item wouldn't the generic item work just as well? I am all about saving but some days it looks like more of a hassle.

        • Toni

The transactions are just suggestions. I personally wouldn't do 8 transactions. The most I have ever done is 3. I have personally never seen anyone do 8 transactions either. Just change things around a bit to fit what you need and the number of transactions that you want to do. I am sure you are intelligent enough to make a list of the things from the ad that you really need/want, the coupons you have and the oop for each item after the coupons and then combine them to give yourself the best deals. Happy shopping!

        • Donna

Regarding multiple transactions – just use your head & be courteous to others. I've never held up a line for multiples (though I live within half a mile of a CVS, so I just go on the way to/from work each day so I don't need to do multiples at once). I'm sure most others are respectful of the store's policies and the other customers' time as well.

By spending just a little time here to check the sales & collect the appropriate coupons, you can get the brand name items for less than the generics usually. If you're here visiting this site, we have to assume you'd prefer to save money. You just have to decide how much you'd like to save and how much time you devote to it. Many people are feeling a serious budget crunch and this site allows them to buy things that their families really need while saving them a HUGE amount of money.

Peace of mind is priceless – and having a little more money leftover each payday by using this site & some coupons is more than worth it to me & many others!

I'm grateful that I found Southern Savers & for all the work that Jenny does here to help us all save!

      • <<< is some one who loves crap! :-p

Thanks Jenny and all others who contribute to this site.

    • Kassiaowens

I don't know where else to post this, so I figure I'll do it here. You can purchase a “green bag” card for .99 and for every 4 transactions where you use a reusable bag, you get $1 in ECB :)

Definitely worth the .99 to begin with!

      • Happy Feet

I am confused. I was told today I had to purchase the bag and the tag which equals $3. Can I get the tag and put it on another Bag? Thanks

        • couponmom

At my store, you can use the tag on any bag you bring from home

        • Bradyfigueroa

          Yes, any reusable bag….

        • Heather

You do not have to purchase the bag tag and a reusable bag.

        • Shanna

I always forget to carry in my own bag, but my Green Tag is always on my keychain. So, if I'm purchasing just a couple items, I tell the cashier to not give me a bag. Or, if I'm doing multiple transactions or purchasing enough items for more than one bag, I tell the cashier to not to use a second bag and just put the items all together in the first bag. It's a short walk to the car.

      • Tracy

Also, I recently got a .50 off a green bag tag coupon from the red machine.

        • Heather

I got the same coupon. But I already have a green bag tag. Can you have more than one?

      • Nancy

I'm up to $31 for my green bag I got free the first or second week.

      • Donna

I didn't have a clue that this green bag thing existed – very COOL! Thanks. :)

ugh, I'm frustrated. the scenarios i work out at home never seem to be what i get in store. example, i just got back from cvs. The sale was supposed to be 2.49 for the secret deordant, but was 2.89. i couldnt find any of the .99 cent advil/excedrin, and they didnt have any 2-bar packages of olay soap. i still did my scenario as much as possible but ended up spending 2x more than i thought i was going to. Not to complain, just venting. I love Jenny/Southern Savers and am VERY thankful for all the hard work that is put into running it! :)

also, question: the last 3 times i've been in CVS, i've gotten the same 3 coupons printed from the coupon station. is this typical?

      • Costley5

        Hi Ashley,

Different areas can have slightly different starting prices, and even different add deals at times. I live way out in CA and sometimes the starting price is 20 to 30 cents higher like on the Secret. Then I just have to decide if it is worth it or not. My Excedrine is an automatic extra buck, not a print from the machine as Jenny had said. I would say 9 out of 10 times it is the same after discovering southernsavers a year ago. Occasionally we don't have a product here as well.

      • sarahcas

I couldn't find the advil either, but the excedrin at my store was in the travel section. I think the advil would have been too if they had had it since it was just a 4 count.

        • Megan

In my CVS store, the Advil and Excedrin were in the aisle as the regular pain meds but were hanging from one of those vertical strips and on the end of the aisle. HTH. Happy hunting :)

    • regina

to all the ones who answered to gossip Mom. Love all your good tips.

    • Happy Feet

I got a deal today that was too wonderful that I need someone to explain my transaction to me… I paid $.15 for two pepsi drinks… They were $.89 each and I had a buy one get one free pepsi coupon off of the data base. She said I only owed $.15 … YEA!!!

      • Sybilnelson

Were the drinks on sale B1G1? If so, then when you use a B1G1 coupon for something that is on sale B1G1 then it ends up being free. All you paid was tax.

    • couponmom

Question…When I first started shopping the CVS a few months ago, I was able to check out and owe nothing or owe only a few cents, but over the last few weeks the registers have started beeping when my total due is less than the amount of the tax and I have been told that I can't use my ECB's to pay the tax. They have even adjusted my ECB's down so that it wouldn't cover the tax. Is this just happening at my store here in Pelham Al or is it going on elsewhere???? Thanks in advance for your help.

      • Shaner478

I think that in the past you have been lucky. It states on the ECB that it will not cover tax (I think that may be a law). Also, they will adjust your ECB so they will not pay the tax. So you could be losing ECB, if it gets 'adjusted down.'

      • Bradyfigueroa

I have never been able to use ECBs to cover tax, so I agree you were probably just lucky before. Happy Shopping.

      • sandra

Maybe it has been filtering down from corporate and new managers that keep getting filtered in eventually have been doing it…I had several transactions covered but lately not as many, I notice it more when a manager of some kind is ringing me up tho.

      • Kjordan_81

I read about this on another website the other night. They said to scan your ecb first and then your coupons. According to the site, ecb can't cover tax, but coupons can. This way you avoid having adjust your ecb down, and some, or all, of the tax is covered bu coupons. I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know for sure.

    • Lisamarieonssi

I can't get the 3.00 or 5.00 off schick to come up only the banana boat and schick one – can anyone help please ?/ TY !

    • Debee2000

I have a 30% off my total bill (I think that is what it says, don't have it in my close possession). Any pointers on how to spend it? It expired Nov 26th. BTW, I have dtrs that are 12 and 16 years old, stock up on makeup and such?

Oh and I just quit my job this past week until January, and who knows it could take until May to find a job :(

      • jean

I received a 20% off total too, but when it rang up, it didn't apply to anything on sale, so I only saved 1.31, whereas I thought I'd save about 10.00. A little tricky…

    • Vtkelly

Has anyone seen the 2 count Olay soap mentioned in the deal idea? I could only find a 4 count tonight?

    • cls77

Where can I get the P&G coupon books?

    • ARW

I hate when people do multiple transactions… I have been doing cvs for 5 years , I always do one transaction to get everything I want. This is where you should have your extra care bucks built up , or just go on ahead and pay the Amount to start you out . That is why employee's get pissed off at people playing this Game.

      • Lindsay De Jesus

As an employee of CVS I do not mind people having multiple transactions. That is why we are here is to help you guys……and although we dont get a lot of money from people with our coupons……manf. coupons we get the money back, and 9 times out of 10…..our sale price is higher than anywhere else….so you guys choose to spend your coupons with us….and some money!!! So we welcome ALL cupononers and multi transactions……and just to let everyone know…..I work at the Clearwater store in sc……so we are open ALL day on Thanksgiving….and we will have plenty of the ad merch….to get free after extrabucks!!!! So come by and see me…..I will be working 14 hours that day……We will see ya then…have a great day….and enjoy couponing!!!!

        • mandy

My CVS in Knightsville, SC is awesome, too. And you know, it is job security for the cashiers….I hate when cashiers act like the money I'm saving is coming out of their paycheck!

          • Lindsau De Jesus

Well as for job sercurity…I guess I'm set…..I am a manager at my CVS….but as your know the managers cashier a lot too!! Awsome to hear u like your CVS and they aren't a pain!

      • Lori

I usually do one transaction to get everything I want. However, if I did that this week, I would have $38 in ECBs. Given the last two weeks didn't really have anything I wanted, I'd hate to be stuck with them. So, I'll do multiple transactions this week.

The times I do multiple transactions, I let everyone else go ahead of me, first. If I see people start lining up behind me, I get out of line. My cashiers are cool with this, and are very friendly about it.

      • mandy

Wow…my CVS cashiers are always awesome about it. I always let people go in front of me or get back in line if there is a line and I have multiple transactions. As long as you are courteous about it, there is no reason not to do multiple transactions.

        • Jeannie Rivera

Mine, too. I'm new to using coupons and when I got in line the other day, I told the manager, who was cashiering, that I wasn't sure of how their ECB system worked, etc. He was so nice and guided me through the whole process and even giving me other money-saving tips. There was not a huge line behind me, but I'm with the shopper who wrote that, on multiple transactions, just be mindful of how many ppl are behind you and if the line is getting too long, just finish up and get back to the end of the line again.

    • Joanna

Are Cvs will be limiting transaction Thrusday because to 2 then you can go to the back of the line and checkout again. Just to keep 1 person from checking out all day! Its not fair to other to wait!!!

    • jean

If you print out the $3.00 off of $15 purchase with multiple copies, will you be able to use them in seperate transactions? Or does your CVS card track that you've already used the coupon. I received it by email.

      • Barbie0482

You can only use it once.

      • once. Otherwise the computer beeps.

    • love2save

Is eyeshadow a face product? Have q $5 off 2 loreal cosmetic face products???

      • it is not.

      • nice to meet you

I purchased eyeliner and it worked for me. My rationale: It goes on the face! Also in my area (Charlotte NC) many L'Oreal products are marked 75% off. Some stores (Johnston Rd) did not have the signs so lots to choose from. I will say it is color specific, so scan first to ensure the savings. I scored foundation for $.70 after coupon applied, as well as kohl eyeliner for $1.45. Simply Awesome!!

    • Roxcoel

I am assuming since the “get $4 ecb wyb $20 says it cannot be used with “CVS coupons” – that means no ecb's can be used for that transaction?

      • Rgarbee

It worked fine for my transaction that included CVS EB's. I had her scan that first then my $ off $$ then my regular coupons then the EBS

        • jean

That was what I also wondered…so if I have a @20.00 purchase and have them scan the the coupon from the Christmas book (receive a 4 off 20.00), then my ecb, coupons,I shoud still get the printout for my 4ecb???

      • Donna

You can still use your ECB's – they're like “cash” and don't interfere with the $ off a total purchase CVS coupons. I just used my $4 / 20…got my total, handed them the $4 coupon, then my manufacturer coupons, then a new subtotal, then I gave them my $5 ECB's and then paid the balance with cash.

You should be just fine! :)

    • smaks

does anyone have a good zip code for this coupon:

Can I use a b1g1free coupon on something that is on sale for b1g1free ?

      • Veronica

Yes– you will then only pay sales tax.

    • AH

I know it's silly that I ask about this, but I don't quiet understand my receipt…. @@ Pls help me to read it, anyone?

I just got back from CVS. Bought 2 Kellogg's, used $1/2 coupon paid and get back 2 EB. It shows *offer Limit Reached. (<–I can understand this one)

I also bought an Excedrin and an Advil PM, because I know it has limit 1 per card, so I grabbed one each. But on my receipt instead of showing *offer Limit Reached. like the Kellogg's deal.
      I see below:

Excedrin, Buy 1 Get 0.99 EB
      Quantity Toward this Reward 1
Quantity Needed to Earn Reward 1

Advil PM, Buy 1 Get 0.99 EB
      Quantity Toward this Reward 1
Quantity Needed to Earn Reward 1

Dose it mean I can go and buy another Excedrin and Advil PM and still get EB??

      THANKS!

      • AH

I found the answer to my question….
Yes it's limit 1 per transaction, limit 2 total 11/21-11/27

        —-
        This deal too…

schick, edge, skintimate or playtex products (any) get $10 eb wyb $20 limit 1 per transaction, limit 2 total

      • JAB

Yes. Sometimes the advertised limit is different than the actual limit. You can do a deal until your receipt says “offer limit reached.”

    • Guest

I brought in my manf. Q for $1/2 Arm & Hammer and I didn't have to use it. I opted for the dryer sheets instead of the soap. The sheets were B1G1. They are $4.69. They have $1 peelie Q's on (each of) them. That made it $2.69 for 2 of them (80 sheets total).

    • Robin

I just got back from CVS and had a good scenerio for the beneful dog food. Buy 8 of the beneful prepared meals. (They ring up 2.00 each) Total 17.48. Use 8 of the 2.00 off coupons. Total 1.48 get back 3.00 ECB!!

    • Cassiekenny

Herbal Essence Shampoo's are not earning extra care buck this week. I just got home from CVS and there are no ECB this week.

      • carrie

Above, Jenny says that deal won't start until Thursday.

        • Guest

Yup, I confirmed that none of the Black Friday (Thursday) deals were marked on sale yet today at my store too.

      • Cassiekenny

        Same with the Renpure products….ugghhh…

      • evaughn

        herbal essence ecb start thursday

    • June

Just a question–Is there any reason not to do a lot of transistions at once———I know you spend out of pocket but you get most back anyway????????

      • Guest

I’m new to couponing and I’ve wondered the same thing. I completely respect wanting to pay little or no OOP- that is an ideal scenario, but take the Black Friday ads for example… sure I could do 8 separate transactions and pay no OOP, but I’d rather save myself the hassle. With Q’s I’ll be spending $40.52 (that’s including tax) and I’ll get $46.89 in ECB at the end of my receipt. The only issue I see is that the ECB’s expire in a month. I’ll just have to be sure I don’t lose them or forget about them.

        • Sheila

I usually do as large of a transaction as I can because I annoy myself (and my husband) with lots of small transactions. My OOP is larger in the beginning, but if I consistently make large transactions, I still end up with little OOP on subsequent transactions. In one way, it takes less planning to do larger transactions, but you have to get much more creative really have to think when you have $46 ECB to spend before they expire and you don't want them to go to waste. I take it as a challenge. It's fun.

        • Kaytee

maybe just do (2) medium sized transactions…I usually just try to do (2) transactions…the first i pay for (oop or with ecbs i already have) then the second i use the ecbs i just earned…then i leave with the ecbs from the 2nd transaction for the next time. hope this makes some sort of sense :)

      • Toni

Hope they are giving out rainchecks because I'm not wasting Thanksgiving shopping! Family means too much.

    • jhoran1

Just got a quick question ……….. since we're all going to get the black friday deals on Thursday, who's cooking the turkey????

      • Mcleodsc

My husband is cooking it on Wednesday. I am cooking all the fixings on Wednesday. We will make an early trip to CVS and WAGS on Thursday, then just heat up the Thanksgiving dinner!

    • Ktbrady

I know a few people have touched on TAX at CVS, but I still have a question. The other week I bought some things at CVS and after coupons, my total was like $4.86. I used $3 ECB and then a $2 ECB. The cashier said “You're going to lose some money on this” and I THOUGHT he was referring to 14 cents, but then when he put the ECBs through, I still owed tax. I was like “HUH?” and he said “Yeah, the state is gonna get their money any way they can.” I live in NC…this was at the CVS in Durham on 751.

Anyway, I'm confused because on Jenny's transactions, she says she owes nothing! Seems like one would always owe something (the tax) if that cashier was correct.

Anyone know the answer? Thanks so much!

      • kcreviews

I think Jenny means you owe nothing for the products except tax. She doesn't compute the tax because every state is different.

        • Amy

Some states tax the subtotal (after coupons) like PA. So when it says you owe nothing – you owe nothing! Many other states calculate tax based on product value (before coupons) like NC. Since the tax value is different in different states, Jenny doesn't include tax in the scenarios.

      • Mary

I don';t think Jenny includes tax in any of her scenerios because every state & county tax rate is different.

      • guest

The ECBs won't cover tax, and you have to pay tax. So if $4.50 of that was your subtotal, your ECBs would cover only that. And you would be left to pay the remaining $0.36.

        • Ktbrady

OK, thanks y'all. That makes more sense!

    • Alztimers

Rather new at this. Can I buy 9 items (including 5 Mars) for a total of $28.91 for transaction #1, then use the ECBs to buy 15 items totalling $26.92?

      • Are you saying that you would be using 28.91 in ECBs to pay for mdse costing 26.92? If so, you would lose the remaining 1.99. If I were you, I'd grab something else, or hold on to one of the ECBs.

    • Chickenlady

Our CVS in Southern MS did not have most ECB deals. We have the asprin, but that is about it and MP3. I was wondering why that is. Really disappointing. I have never had a week with products being this off. Any ideas Jenny?

      • Val

Did you check your store's ad? It's possible your store didn't post the sale information yet.

        • Tfrost99

Our ad shows all of the items Jenny listed, but the sales tags weren't up on Sunday when I shopped so I was just very careful to get the right products. Maybe Val's right in that they just didn't put up all of the signs yet.

    • TabithaIlges

My cvs will not let you use more than one ecb coupon per order. Is this really policy?

      • No, this is not policy. ECBs are like money. My store lets me use multiples to pay.

      • Definitely not policy!

    • Alztimers

Is the deal that by buying two of one product, CVS doubles the ECB value? In other words, if I buy just one in a transaction, I might get back $2 ECB, but if I buy two, I get back $4 ECB? Thanks.

      • That is correct, unless the limit is one.

    • Newtotheq

sounds great, but wouldnt everyone around you get ticked off that you have 7 orders? They are all small, but still take quite a bit of time from start to finish. I love getting great deals, but dont want to tick everyone off around me and hold up the line for 20 minutes.

      • I do multiple transactions all the time, and my policy is to be super polite and considerate–if there is someone behind me, I will let them go ahead before doing another transaction. It takes me longer to check out, but I don't go coupon shopping when I am a huge rush because I just get flustered. The staff really appreciates my willingness to wait and I have great relationship with the managers and cashiers at all the stores I shop at, which really comes in handy when there are difficult transactions.

    • Jenniferbrasher

On the Herbal Essence deal, you can use the $2.00 off on Clairol Family coupon because Herbal Essence is owned by Clairol. Not sure which insert this was in.

      • Crashx21

10/31 PG maybe, I haven't looked yet, but was planning on doing this! Nice moneymaker!

      • Mary

My $2.00 coupon has pictures of hair coloring products on it. I know that the pictures doesnt always limit the items you can buy with it, but how do you know this will work?

      • jennifer

It's in the 10/31 PG insert and I did some reading on other posts which all say that the $2.00 off coupon can be used..whoohoo! I'm going to call my cvs to double check though!

    • I am very excited for the Black Friday sale, but I still wanted to grab a couple of the gift deals yesterday before they were sold out. I bought the MP3 video player & the Sarah Peyton Wellness set, and also used a raincheck to get an Oral B Vitality toothbrush. I spent more than I usually do at CVS–$35 in one day!–but I got some great gifts and saved a ton, so I can't complain. I posted the picture and detailed transaction info on my blog–just click my name for the link.

    • I should also mention that I was talking to the manager yesterday & she said that the Black Friday deals will start at 9pm on Wednesday evening!

    • Jtscoupons

On these spend 20 dollars get 10 ecb, do you have to spend 20 or over or does 19.97 count? anyone know if they round up if you are close?

      • Missyscatchall

no they do not round up. it has to be exactly $20 or more. nothing less will count.

      • ksmith

My ECB printed even though my total was $19.97. I asked the cashier first and she said if it didn't print she would manually print the ECB

    • ME!

      • Rlynn103

    • JenCP

Anybody know what to do if your extra bucks expire? It expired about 2 weeks ago so I don't think they will accept it in the store. Any suggestions or numbers to call?

      • Sarah

Just ask at the store. The CVS I go to will take expired ECB's within a week or so. I had some that were 9 days expired and they took those. It never hurts to ask! I always ask ahead of time though just to make sure.

        • cpnmom

That's great! I had a $10 ECB that I missed using by 1 day. I went in the very next day (after it expired) and they wouldn't take it. :-( I was SO bummed!

    • Rlynn103

Where would the advil 4 ct. and excedrin 8 ct. be located? Near pain meds, front of store, or travel size area?

      • my store didn't have any in stock!

      • Wmllewis

At my store the Advil was with the travel items and the Excedrin was with the other pain meds. It seems to vary from store to store though. :/

      • marlinsmom

Just found them today at my store and they were next to one of the registers up front.

    • Amanda

I am new to shopping at CVS and have a question about multiple transactions. I would like to follow the above 7 transactions on Weds night @ midnight. Will the store allow this. I have never done more than 2 transactions at a time. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

      • Alyssa

Yes. They should allow it. I just try and tell them I am going to have multiple transactions when I check out so they know.

      • lisa

this may also depend if there are twenty people standing inline behind you….. the manager may impose limits on transactions.

      • Amy B.

I would just put all the stuff in my cart, do 1 transaction at a time and then step to the back of the line to be fair to other shoppers. They should let you do as many as you want as long as you are polite :)

    • Shauntae

Hi All. I just checked my email and this morning I was sent a $5 off $25 coupon to use Thursday- Saturday. So be on the lookout. Happy Shopping.

      • Bamasaver

I got one, too!!! I look forward to using it.

    • Happy Feet

Are the Sales ads different in each town? I only have 2-3 items on my sales ad that she is using on a senerio… I only have three with EBC where do I find all these other ones …on her senerios?

      • macboy

From what I've seen, there may be price differences with some of the food items. However, ECB prices have always been the same.

      • Firstbrownie

I'm assuming you are looking at this week's ad; most of the deals that Jenny is doing are in the Black Friday ad which you will get on Thursday, if you go in. hth!

    • Ecochicinsuburbia

Hi Jenny! Just wanted to let you know that 1. i love your blog! and 2. I linked back to a deal from your CVS Post and Rite Aid Post this week for my blog…please let me know if it’s a problem! I just started a new blog called Eco-Chic in Suburbia to making going green that much easier for us non-urbanites :) Check it out at http://ecochicinsuburbia.wordpress.com. Thanks!

    • Drseusnc

Does anybody know when the Black Friday paper comes out? I would really appreciate if anyone knows because Rite Aid is notorious for not marking their sale products! Thanks

      • SavNlots

My CVS already had them behind the counter. Try asking your manager or cashier.

      • Ccobarr

They would not give me one today, said they couldn't give them out until Thursday. However, they know I am a couponer and probably didn't want me lining up when they opened.

      • Drseusnc

Thank you Ccobarr and SavNlots! I'll try going today to see if I can get one. The people at my CVS are very nice and one of the managers is a couponer, so …keeping my fingers crossed =D

    • Kelly

Last night was the 1st time my husband had shopped with me at CVS. My parents had my kids so we were alone and shopping!!!! I bought 2 axe body washes, used B1G1 free coupon, Advil PM trial size, Excederin Migrain Trail Size, used my free coupon for conditioner that CVS emailed yesterday and also bought 6 rolls of Viva Paper Towel they had on sale for $2.50. Used a $5 off $15 coupon as well and $5 ECB. Paid .69. My husband could not believe how much I saved.

      • Yes. When I have shopped with my boyfriend he couldn't understand at all. He asked me was it legal !

        • Klynn

lol Mine use to ask me the same thing, I just said it's their game, I'm just playing.

    • Julie176

Has anyone been able to find the -$2.50 off Huggies Little Snugglers or Little Movers printable? The first link goes to Pillsbury and no diapers coupons are listed. The second goes to coupon.com, but I don’t see any Little Snugglers or Litter Movers coupons (only the pure and natural and snug & dry). If you were able to find them, would you mind sharing the zip code you used? Thanks!

    • Nikki

Anyone know what time the store opens on Thursday? One cashier said they open normal time (8:00), but she seemed unsure.

      • Kerry

I just called mine in NC and she said regular time.

      • macboy

        regular time.

    • How do you get away with doing so many transactions. I am taking my boyfriend he might do some and I do some. But I am nerves about him helping me I know how to coupon but I am not to sure about him !

      • ireneY

To be less conspicuous, you could do 2 transactions at front registers and 2 at the pharmacy. You can always go back to the original register and act like you “found” something else to buy on the way out the door. You'll be less likely to get sighs or dirty looks!

        • Lelia Parker

Why do you need to be inconspicuous? There is nothing wrong with multiple transactions, and the cashiers at my CVS understand. As one said, “everyone plays the Extra Bucks game.”

          • ireneY

Lucky you, to have nice cashiers. To each their own. I'd rather not be known as the annoying shopper on return visits.

            • I am the annoying shopper ! LOLZ
I can't help it they act like they don't know there own coupon policy
So I always have my copy and I wipe it out !!

        • macboy

If there is a line, do transaction #1 and then go to the back of the line. Nothing wrong with that.

      • Sdavisva

I really prefer to just do one transaction, espeically if I have my three helpers with me (daughters aged 10,7, and 2!). I really struggled using CVS for 6-8 months because of not wanting to do so many transactions. The time it took and the confusion I caused myself made it very stressful. Over the summer I received $15 ECB after doing one of their surveys online (you have to sign up for it). Ever since, I've been rolling anywhere from $13 – $28 in EBC every few weeks. I also asked for a gift card for my birthday, so I don't need to worry so much about the tax or being short on ECB. This has made CVS much more fun and I've been able to take part in the deals that I was missing before.

Now, if I need to do two different tansactions, I just politely let them know that I need to do two. And as others have stated, go to the back of the line for the second transaction when needed.

    • I just worked out all 3 of my pharmacies deals- end up paying $14.50 OOP, getting $55.68 in rewards back and getting $67.65 in product! I end up MAKING a grand profit of $13.68 (even deducting the rewards I used to pay for all this stuff) SO excited!

    • Rlowe

I was only able to print a $0.75 coupon for the Colgate total anyone know why?

    • savforfamily

I am new to the drugstore coupon thing. Is it a bad idea to use Thanksgiving deals as my first try? I have read up on everything but it is slightly confusing as I have never shopped the drugstores. I coupon at Publix every week and do great but I would love to take advantage of these deals. Any suggestions on what I should do to earn my first set of rewards?

      • macboy

This would be the best week to get started because of all of the freebie deals. It hasn't been like this…

        • savforfamily

Thank you so much for your help!

        • savforfamily

          thanks!

      • Ccobarr

Jenny gives great scenarios to start with, but you can put together your own. What I do is write out beside my list (after I print it) how much something will cost me out of pocket (after coupons), then I order my transactions so that I earn ECB's to buy my other stuff. If you are just starting out, buy the stuff you have coupons for first that will be “free plus profit” then you can use those ECB's to buy the other “free” stuff and still leave with ECB's. I usually do about 3 transactions. Good Luck!!

        • savforfamily

          thanks!

      • This is the best time to start. You can get a lot of stuff free. You can start with Jenny's first transaction, and pay for the toothpaste. Or you can click on my name for a “getting started” scenario. You spend a total of $8.02 out of pocket plus tax, and end with 13.33 in ECBs. I used all of the free items, so you end up with a lot of stuff, plus profit.

    • Renee

      Hi
Does anyone know if the Thursday sale will start Wednesday evening? Also what time does CVS open and close on Thanksgiving? Thanks!

      • L Sherrill

hours are 8am – 10 pm on thanksgiving at my local cvs I just called

      • The manager at the store I shop told me the sales are active at 9pm tonight (Wednesday.)

      • Firstbrownie

Every CVS is different, I believe….mine closes at 3 PM in Illinois

    • melissa

if a cvs is 24 hours, what time will the black friday stuff start? can i shop at 12:01 am on thursday morning?

      • The manager at the store I shop at told me the sales are active at 9pm tonight (Wednesday.)

    • Renee

Can items with a 2 LIMIT be purchased in the same transaction? Or do they need to be purchased in separate transactions in order to get the ECBs. For example WYB Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste 6oz., at $3.99 with a LIMIT of 2, can you buy both in 1 transaction and get back $7.98 ECBs or will you only get $3.99 ECBs since you did not purchase in separate transactions? Thanks

      • macboy

Yes, you can purchase them together. Your ECB receipt will add the two item prices together.

        • Renee

          Thanks!

      • Kim

You can purchase them in the same transaction and get all the ECBs…just know that the ECBs will be combined. Instead of two separate $3.99 receipts, you'll bet one for $7.98…which means you would have to spend the whole thing on your next transaction–shouldn't be a problem with all the great deals though!

        • Renee

          Thanks!

    • Sybilnelson

If I have a CVS coupon for huggies and a manufacturer's coupon, can I use both?

      • Sam

        yes

      • Cinderelligirl

where did you find a huggies cvs coupon?

        • Paige

I received one in the mail from CVS with a coupon for diapers and one for wipes.

    • Mctenpenny

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know what time CVS will open on Thursday? My daughter and I are planning our strategy! ;o)

    • kaseyshadow

any idea if the thrusday deals will start early. our sunday sales usually turn on around 10:00 AM on Saturdays in the cola, sc area.

    • Stacy

Just a side note. I was planning my run to CVS (This is my first time) and while getting the coupons ready noticed I had a P&G mailer looked inside and found a coupon for free Gillette Body wash with purchase of Gillette Deodorant, since the deodorant is on sale this week, thought why not use it too!

Wanted to point it out to everyone if you have the mailer, use it too.

      • Karen

Thanks for the heads up. I found my coupon and I added that to my shopping list!

    • Tventim

Just a heads up I just called my store and spoke with a manager he said they were told by corporate under no circumstances to load the sale early i.e. it will start tomorrow morning at 8AM when the store opens :) HTH Im in the Florence, SC area BTW

      • Tracy

Are you just trying to throw everyone off when they are really loading the sales the night before? J/K!!!!

It seems silly that I'm so excited to go to my 24-hr CVS and shop at midnight!!

    • macboy

CVS has that 13″ Craig HDTV on sale for $88.88. Assuming that I will be able to use a X/XX coupon with it, is that a good price?

      • Happy Feet

        what is a x/xx ?

        • macboy

          $5 off $30

    • Sweetiepooh765

Let you know I found the sale will be on the Wet N Wild Concept sets for $2.99 each, There a Coupon in the Nov All You for $ 5 off of $ 10.00.

    • Cojo2800

I called two of my local stores (Summerville SC) and was told they have no idea when the sales will start and the best thing to do was come in the morning at 8am!

    • Wdwnut

      Will they offer rain checks?

    • Jane

Did anyone else get 2 $5 off $25 purchase from CVS this week? Weird. They are for the exact same days.

      • Renee

I also got the email “Still Time to Save $5 Starts Thanksgiving Day,” with a downloadable $5 off $25 coupon which I had printed Monday. Can both of these coupons be used?

        • Jane

That is what I am wondering too. I would assume so since they are both connected to our card and CVS themselves sent it to us. I'll ask the cashier when I get there to see..

    • I just went shopping & was able to get all the Black Friday deals–they loaded them in my store at 9pm this evening. The sale prices all rang up correctly, but none of the ECBs would print & they had to print each one manually, which they were more than happy to do. I mostly used Jenny's scenarios above, but grabbed a few extra items at the end. Click my name for the picture.

    • Clemsonugrad

Just got back from CVS – I arrived at 10 minutes before midnight, and there were already several women with full carts waiting for the registers to flip over at 12:01. I was able to get all the free stuff except for the LA Looks Styling Gel, which I didn't need anyway. Spent $20 and got just under $40 in ECB (plus 5% cash back on my American Express!). I don't like to break things up into multiple transactions – it's not hard for me to use the ECBs on the next couple weeks' worth of offers.

    • LKH

Gillette deodorant seems to be more than limit 1, I didn't notice until my final transaction and didn't want to push my luck with another

    • Karen

Woohoo! I just got back and I had the best trip ever! I did my own scenarios for all the free stuff using $7 ECBs I already had. I paid $7.35 out of pocket (over $4 of that was tax) for $79.67 worth of stuff. I realized when I got home that the cashier made a mistake on a buy x, get xx free coupon, so I paid more than I should have, but I'm not going to complain. I still have $14.55 in ECBs left. I also got the Renpure rebate, so I'll get $4.99 back. This really makes up for the lackluster weeks they've had lately!

    • Augustgirl01

–Gilette limit is more than 1!!! I had to come home to find more coupons though, so I haven't tried again.
–There is a coupon for $1 off 2 Xtra detergent, exp 11/30
–The mars coupon is only for bags of candy, not individual ones

I love “black Friday” at the drugstores!

    • Barkleybabe_4

went to my cvs at midnight and got EVERYTHING i wanted. I was expecting other ppl to be there but only one other couple doing the same thing i was. they had a shelf where alot of their free items were. :)

    • Tracy

Yipee!! Just got back and paid $7.99 (before tax) for $84.62 (sale prices before tax) and ended with $2ECB for next week and 2 Try Me Free rebates for the Renpure ($4.99 each) if they let me submit both for $10 back I actually made $2 on the items!!

I also found a bottle of Bioluxe (full size) with a Try Me Free tag!!

      Good luck to everyone :-)

      • sandra

I found some too..but mine were like 6 months expired! (bioluxe)

    • Sheila

I am new to couponing and have just got back with my first CVS shop. I paid $13.60 (before tax) for $67.63 (before tax). I walked out with…….. $21.96 in ECB …..yipeeeeeeeee!!!!!

      • Tracy

Good for you!! Just one more thing to be thankful for today – Jenny and CVS!!

        • Sheila

You are so right. Jenny's site makes it easy to understand.

    • A.G.

We just came back from CVS. Both my son and I have CVS cards, and we got to the store right as they were opening. In total we spent 14.90 between the two off us. We got back 24.08 in ExtraBucks!!! In addition to that we got 2 Eucerins, Headphones, 8 Resses, 2 M&M Kings Size, 2 Listerines, 6 Shampoos, Advil…etc…the list goes on. Thanks so much Jenny!!!!!

    • jennifer

Happy Thanksgiving! I went to CVS at midnight and was able to get everything on my list.. I started with $12 ECB's ended with $27.93 ECB's and about $55 in product! I am going back today for one more deodorant! Thanks to all who take the time to post extra tips to help everyone out. By the way, the $2.00 clairol coupons worked with no problems :)

    • Waltzingnow

Eucerin $1/1 on FB under offers tab

    • Angela

Did my trip this morning, they had everything in the ad, spent $4.44 (actually used a giftcard I got for transferring a prescription so no actual out of pocket) saved $80.92. Started with $21.00 ECB and came out with $26.86 ECB…great day!

    • Tventim

Just got back from my CVS great trip!! Spent $7.82 most of which was tax, Saved $83.36 and have $11.95 ECB remaining and the Renupure shampoo's both had a try me free tag probably wont let me do both, but an awesome trip!! Thanks Jenny for all you do :)

    • kidsallgone

Just curious….If I do the entire “freebies” in one transaction and pay with my coupons, $/$$, and ECB's, will I get just one ECB at the end of my receipt for like $42 (or whatever it will be)? Or will I get about 20 different ECB's at the end of my receipt? Thanks for the replies (about to head to CVS and need to know)..

      • Juliea201

You'll get individual ECBs for each item that there are ECBs for (although if you buy multiples of the same item like the Reeses candies, those will combine into 1 ECB).

      • macboy

You will get a separate ECB sheet for each product. The same products will add their ECBs together. If you buy two Crest toothpastes that give $1 back ECBs each, then you will get a $2 ECB receipt. If you have a Dove Bodywash ECB for $4 in that same order, you will get a $2 ECB and $4 ECB receipt.

        • kidsallgone

Thanks so much to both of you for your replies!!

          I'm off to CVS!!!

          Fingers crossed.

          LOL!!

    • SchoonCR

Just got back. Some states must just be different, as the tax on all my purchases added up to $7.86, plus the $1 for the detergent. SO, I spent $8.86, used $4.50 of previous ECB. The total haul was for $89.05 worth of stuff, and I got back $27.08 in ECB!!! I ended up doing 4 transactions, with each one being between $15 – $16, as I had a handful of the $4 of any purchase of $15 Q's. ( I didn't have any of the q's listed on this ad, except the herbal ess and the gillette, so I thought the $4 q would save me back some of the money) THANK YOU!!!

    • Juliea201

This was my best CVS week ever and CRAZY fun, LOL. Got all I wanted today, NO problems, and did 2 transactions earlier this week to get me started! Altogether I spent a total of about $17 out of pocket, with nearly half of that being pure tax, got back $7.77 in ECBs for this weekend or next week, and I bought $123 worth of items!!! Thank you Jenny!!!

just got back from CVS AWESOME…………… I love the manager at cvs antioch tn m'boro rd….. He had all the “free” items on end cap next to the register he gave me a coupon to get the sunday paper for $1.00 and he put 2 free packs of sweet tarts in my bag.. Everything in stock!

    • MominLexingtonSC

Had a great trip to CVS this morning. Got everything I wanted and plan to go back this weekend for a few extra things I didn't pick up. Started with $17.99 in ECB, bought $111.39 in items (retail price) and my out of pocket was $9.28 and walked away with $11.49 in more ECB. One of my best trips yet.

I did notice the following at my local CVS. The Eucerin lotion was NOT with the other Eucerin lotions. It was about 15 feet down mixed in with other brands. So that took me a long time to find. And, the Coupon Center was not printing coupons.

    • Kelly

Look for the Pepsi and Sierra Mist 2 Liter bottles. There is a $1 off coupon wyb 2 on them. There is also a hang tag, buy 3, get 1 free. Great way to use up your ECBs in the end.

    • Leyly

Just got back from my CVS i was able to get 2 gilletes, 2 advils and 2 excedrin. Apparently the limit is 2.

    • Godot

Just taking a moment to give thanks to Jenny for all her hard work. I used to look at other sites regarding CVS but not anymore. You are the best.

    • Leyly

I have a question. I bought 2 Renpures in the same transaction. Will i be able to do both rebates or only one? and how does it work? Thank you in advance.

    • After completing today's sale at CVS I now have a total of $103.92 ECB.
Hmmm. What to do with so many ECBs?????

      • macboy

        Buy me some Christmas presents.

      • Happy Feet

How do you have so many ECB? show us how to do that! :o)

      • Sandy

Wow! That's why people do so many transactions in one visit, it reduces the number of ECBs your stuck with in the end. Hopefully, in the next few weeks CVS will have some great sales, and remember to look for clearance deals! :)

        • Well, I go to Cvs EVERY week. So I pretty much recycle my ECBs. Much it don't hurt to buy something I want even though I don't get ECBs back. What good is to have a lot of money if you don't spend it? LOL Free merchandise is always the best.

    • Coolkdg

Woo Hoo! Racked up at CVS! Got all the free stuff and a Crock Pot! Love it

    • Gabriela

Does anybody know if I would have problems if my ECb's are a little over than what I owe, after coupons? It is just a matter of cents but I'm affraid they will give me a hard time saying that I have a negative total.

      One of my transactions:

      lubriderm 6.99 + carmex 0.99 – 1.00off coupon = 6.98

      I have 6.99 ECB's

      • They can adjust the ECB down to 6.98.

        • Gabriela

          Thank you!

      • Sam

I will just buy filler as francis chocolate for 33cents,hope that helps you

    • Happy Feet

went to CVS with $12 EB. bought over $80 worth of products, paid tax only and came home with $21 of EB. Great Day. Our cashiers were strict… only three transactions were allowed. Also the store hadn't put up todays sale tags nor taken down previous tags so we had to hunt for todays and then things we thought were on sale were not any longer. Made it a little uncomfortable at the register. Our

    • chel

Not sure if anyone has tried this yet but the Arm and Hammer detergent and dryer sheets are listed here under “other deals” which refers to deals for Sunday thru Wednesday only apparently..well at least at my CVS store. Some may think these deals are for the Black Friday sale since it's under that section so you may want to make sure your CVS is still running the B1G1 on those items before trying to get that deal like I did…whoops..Oh and a big shout out to JENNY for an AWESOME site!!!! wooohooooo

    • Great trip to CVS today. Started with 27.48 ECBs. Spent 3.30 plus tax out of pocket for 135.66 worth of merchandise. Ended with 38.01 in ECBs. I bought the wrong Herbal Essence and did not get those ECBs, so I will be returning them.

    • Katie

My Northern Virginia CVS had the Black Friday sales going from 9 p.m. on (YAY!), but they didn't have a lot of the same sales that are listed above. One cool thing was that one of my Renpure items had the “Try me free!” rebate attached, so I will get another $4.99 back after I send that in. I ended up doing the following:
      #1 Colgate Sensitive @ $3.99 with $2 ECB and $1 coupon = 1.19, got $3.99 ECB
      #2 Colgate Sensitive @ $3.99 with $3.99 ECB = .20, got $3.99 ECB
      #3 Renpure @ 4.99 with $3.99 ECB = $1.25, got $4.99
      #4 Xtra laundry detergent @ $1.99 and Renpure @ $4.99 with $4.99 ECB = $2.34, got $4.99 and $1 ECB
      #5 27-count Huggies @ 11.99 with $5.99 in ECBs and $1.50 coupon = $5.10
So I spent $10.08 ($5.09 after I get my rebate). Pretty slick!

      • Katie

I forgot to add THANK YOU, JENNY!

    • Chrissomethingsomething

I just wanted to comment on the expired ECB's real quick. If you have expired ECB's and your local CVS won't take them you can call 1-800-shop-cvs and they can reissue them you will need your CVS card for the number on the back. You can also call this number for replacement CVS cards as well. Usually if you want to keep the same registered account that has a name and phone number attached to it and your earnings for the quarter. If you never registered your card with a name and phone number when you originally got your cvs card it will be faster to ask for one at the store. Hope this helps.

    • Awesomebc

Went to CVS looking for the Eucerin lotion. They were out of it. The manager spotted me wandering around and when I asked about it she said that they sold the 30 bottles that they received first thing in the morning. She also said that they don't normally carry that size bottle so she couldn't offer a rain check but what she could do was offer me $5 off the larger bottle and the same $6.99 RR. That turned out to be a great deal so I took it! That is customer service.

    • Bobbie

I tried to print a coupon of $1 off any Nature Made product from the Nature Made web site link… I use Avast antivirus and it will not let me print the coupon… says there is a “Rootkit” infection… I sent a message to the Coupon.com web site it was going through so don’t know the outcome yet.

    • Pixiedustlady

Went yesterday morning to CVS. We have three of them in our town and I went to the closest one (which is also brand new and huge!) They had almost all the free stuff up at the register area. There was only me and two other people in the entire store… I asked the cashier if it was ok to do multiple transactions and she said *why would I care?* LOL she was fantastic!! I got all the stuff and only had to pay tax. Thanks Jenny!!! YOU ROCK!!!

    • Tiggybo

OK What am I missing!!!!! I go to CVS and Walgreens, can't seem tofind half of the listed stuff. I still end uo paying way more than you guys!!! I am obivously doing something wrong! HELP!!!!! I go by Jenny's list!

      • Sandy

What do you mean by you can't seem to find half of the listed stuff? I'm assuming you mean the product is already out of stock. If they're out get a raincheck, shop when the sale first starts, or find out what days your CVS gets shipments. Make a plan and stick to it. :)

      • kaseyshadow

I don't usually follow Jenny's suggestions because I don't want/need some of the list. I do use it to get the coupons and find out what's on sale. Don't get discouraged. I usually end up spending more than most people on here because I am brand loyal or I have a child with me:) I guess I see any savings as profit. I guess prices and sales taxes could vary. Jenny and I live in SC and our sales tax is usually 7%. My friends in FL pay at least 10%. Once you get a stock pile built up that helps too.

Also, I went to print the Eucerin coupon and it said no print available for the campaign! What is that?

      • Sandy

The site only releases a certain amount of coupons, it just means that they are all out.

Check in the lotion aisle @ CVS… mine ALWAYS has Eucerin coupons and samples hanging right by the product ;)

What is the purpose of making several transactions? do you not get the same deals if you make only one transaction? Thanks in advance … and thank you Jenny ..

      • Amy

Yes, you get the same deals, but you would end up with lots of ECB all at once. When doing it in several transactions, you're using the small ECB you just got to make the next purchase.

Does anyone know if the Renpure Rebate (Try free) is one per household and can I mail both together in the same envelope.

    • Amy

Help Needed! I went in with the list of transactions to do, that Jenny recommended above, but since they were out of the Gillette and Old Spice, and the Renpure, I had to totally redo my list, due to being fairly new at this and not really being a math whiz who can do all this in my head in the store, I usually end up just getting in line and trying to guess at what to do regarding transactions. I try to let people go ahead with one purchase, I let 5 people go ahead today, but traffic was steady in the store (on Pelham Rd Gville) and I ended up with a frustrated line of people behind me. I spent about 22 and saved 45. Feel like I messed up though because I spent that much. Any suggestions for figuring out the transaction order and going through the process more smoothly. I am fairly new to doing CVS and have already been to Jenny's class, I get nervous doing CVS and try to avoid it until we run out of stuff. Thanks for suggestions you may have!
