Any good ideas for fillers this week?

      • Logibearsmommy

We don't need fillers at CVS, that is for Wags

        • Brett

I need fillers for a 4 off 20. I'm at 18.98 in my total thus far. Thank you. CVS *CAN* have fillers, too. Fillers are just any cheap item to throw in to make your total reach a certain price.

          • LindaB

Head for their clearance section…there usually is something there that you can use for just the amount of money you have left. ;-)

            • Brett

              Thanks, Linda!

            • jan

Also they have that $1 section… there's always something in that section that we can use!

          • Amy J.

Brett, sometimes if i need a filler at CVS, i sometimes do the single Coke product at $1.49 then use the CVS Q for 50 cents off (print from CVS website)…..sometimes it's Coke, Diet Coke or Caffeine free diet, etc…….just a thought….oh, and sometimes a pack of gum if i have a Q for it…..hope that helps for future CVS trips!

          • Logibearsmommy

Ok, I'm sorry for that. You didn't specify that you had that type of coupon. “Normally” you (or should I say, I) don't have to use a “filler” at CVS. I was trying to be helpful not rude which is the way you are coming off at this point. Good luck with your couponing! :)

          • stefluvs2sign

CVS Gold EMblem candy is 88 cents a bag this week..that is what I used to get over the $20 hump.

    • Thanks for posting this quickly. The Aveeno Ageless coupon and rebate are no longer printable. The company changed it so that they mail you the coupon and rebate to your home address. =( I should've printed last week.

      • beverly

I just printed my coupon and rebate form with no problems. I had to register first but then it took my right to printing.

        • BB

I tried last night and again today to get the Neutrogena Clinical Day, Night, or Eye Care coupon but it is not working for me.

          • I tried this over and over again and getting so frustrated. Finally figured out I had to answer no to the question of if I only wanted the content that was delivered securely which pops up when you begin. Then it finally worked and I was able to register and get my coupon and rebate. Hope this helps.

            • Joannah

Thank you….I followed your instuctions and received my print.

            • BB

Now it is printing a $15 dollar rebate. Has anyone been able to print the $5 off coupon???????

            • BB

I am sorry what I printed was the Neutrogena not the Aveeno. I still can not get the Aveeno and I have tried everything other people have said to do. Would it be legal if someone who has gotten the rebate emailed it to me?

            • BB

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!!! You have to hold the control key down the whole time. Once you are on the page to update your info hold the control key and down let it up until the coupon page comes up.

            • candysam

Thanks BB! I thought you were crazy, but I figured since I've been hitting back and submit so many times and failing each time, I might as well give the control key a try, and it worked!!! THANKS!!! :)

            • BB

That gave me a good laugh. I was being to think I was crazy also since everybody else was getting the coupons and I had tried over and over. Actually it was my husband who told me how to get it to work. wished I had asked him sooner. Would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.

            • Carrie

Thanks, BB!!! I FINALLY got it to work after holding the control button the entire time like you said. I also had to temporarily allow pop-ups as well. Then my color ink ran out during the printing of the rebate form but it allowed me to go through the entire process again and print it a second time. Thanks again for the tip.

            • Julie

TIP: Just wanted to mention that I set my printer default to print in only black & white so it saves not having to use up the color ink. I also refill my ink by opening the top of the ink cartridge as taught be a ink refill store. Saves me hundreds per year and I get my ink in a bottle off Ebay for only 8.00 including shipping costs. It refills the same cartridge over 20 times.

            • jen

I really hate dealing with my printer. We’ll just start with that.

I had a canon printer and every time it would run out of ink, I would refill it with universal ink refill kits. That worked well until my printer just up and died. There was no reviving it (at least not for how cheap you can buy a new printer). So there it was… we bought a new Canon printer for about 30 or 40 dollars (can’t quite remember). I ran out of ink really quickly (I print a lot of coupons) and continued the job of refilling the ink cartridge with a refill kit. This was really messy and every time I put it in the computer again, it kept saying the ink was low. I had to refill a lot more often than I thought I should. And when I would refill, it was such a mess. After a bit I thought that my cartridge was just dried out so I should buy a new one. I did and went through the ink in about a week or two. I tried refilling and it was so messy. I was just so fed up with it not working. I called the ink refill kit place and they didn’t have any suggestions for me, but offered to send me more ink. What I really needed was the ink I had to stop overflowing from the cartridge I had (after I put the ink refill in, in just about 2 seconds, it would start gushing out the top and then if I gave it time, it would gush out the bottom).

One of my friends said that staples or office max would professionally refill printer cartridges so I called them to see if they could help. They do refill cartridges…except for canon printers. Go figure.

I vented my frustration to my husband. I mean, come on, it was almost cheaper to just buy a new printer (that comes with ink already) than buy the store cartridges. I looked online for ink, but wasn’t really satisfied with those cartridge prices either, and that’s why I resorted to the ink refill kits. They worked great with my first printer, but not my second.

After venting to my husband, he came up with (what I thought) was quite a thrifty deal. First off, he kept trying to convert me to a laser printer (which I would love) but they are a big upfront cost.

This is what we ended up doing. If you go to staples.com, we found a Brother color inkjet printer/copier – refurbished at 299.00 (On their website, this is regularly a $500 printer!… here is a link: http://www.staples.com/Brother-Refurbished-DCP-9040CN-Digital-Color-Copier/product_848095?cmArea=SEARCH ) Then they had a $50 off instant savings (update: looks like it’s $70 off now! – I emailed them and they adjusted my instant savings $20!!!) On top of that, you get a $50 credit if you take your receipt and turn in your old printer to them! And this is free shipping too so I don’t have to drag my kids out to a store to pick it up (the hubby can take care of the receipt/$50 credit)!!!! And if you go through ebates, you get 4% cash back. So you’re getting a $500 printer for approx. $190! (they do add tax though). Another plus is that it’s a copier too so you can make copies of all the rebates you send in.

And then, toner for the printer costs about $48 (here’s the link http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/toner-tn115bk-brother-dcp-hl-mfc-9040-9045-4040-4070-9440-9450-9840-cn-cdn-cdn-cdw-black-comp?utm_source=googleBase&utm_medium=pcsite&utm_content=Brother+Toner ). You can print 5000 papers with this toner! 5000!! Wowsers! That seemed like a thrifty deal to me!!

So I’ve received my printer and I’m going to take my receipt in this week with my old printer to get the other $50.. one happy coupon printer here!
FYI – you can probably get a cheaper printer refurbished that isn’t color that would be cheaper than the above (I just haven’t looked into it b/c I was going to get a color one)

            • Julie

I have tried the ink kits before and they do not work well when you drill the hole in the top. The ink refill stores that fill the cartridges and resell them actually cut open the entire cartridge top/lid. Inside the cartridge is a very small sponge and a needle syringe fills the sponge the best. The manufacturer charges you for a very very tiny amount of ink and when I fill it I can put more in than they did so my ink lasts longer than new. I do not know exactly how many pages I get from the bottle of ink but I know I buy a 500 sheet pack at Wal-mart at least every 2 weeks and only have to buy a new 4.23 oz/125 ml ink bottle every 3-4 months. If my printer quits working because I use it sop much, I get another brand new printer with fresh new black and color ink cartridges inside the box on Ebay for about 39.00-49.00 including shipping.

            • Terri

Ruth, you're an angel! I tried printing this about 10 times before I decided to read the blog to see if anyone else was having trouble. I followed your directions and printed them with no problem. Thank you!!!

      • Wifeepoo

I was wondering what was going on – I kept hitting submit & nothing was happening. They tell you you will receive the coupon & rebate, but don't tell you how you will receive it. They should tell you it's by mail. Bummer, I had a $5 CVS coupon that expires this Sunday that I was hoping to use.

      • mandy

I also was able to print the coupon & rebate after registering. It's a brick coupon. Make sure ur printer is already hooked up. I registered on my laptop when the printer was not hooked up, and nothing happened. Once I connected the printer, the coupons popped up. It sends directly to the printer….

      • Tobys_Mom

I had a lot of problems with this too. I was using Fire Fox and decided to try Internet Explorer and it worked perfectly and I printed the coupon and the rebate form. Just thought that maybe some of you were doing that same thing. Hope this helps!!

      • MiriamG

I just printed by coupon and rebate. We had to make sure the pop-ups were not blocked on our internet browser. Mine was blocked from both Internet Explorer and Google. Had to disable both.

    • Andrea

on the huggies diapers, when i did the wipes deal the other day, I scanned my cvs card and it printed me off a 4.00 off coupon for box diapers instead of 2.00 off any huggies. don't know if it would still be doing that, but that would help if you need diapers.

    • cs

I got this deal last week (feb 20-26), so if the coupons are still printing it will still work: From the kiosk in CVS you can scan your card and get a $1/off 2 gold emblem candy coupon. If your store still has valentine's day candy it is 90% off. I was able to get 11 bags of valentine candy at $0.09 each for absolutely free! If your checkout person is having problems just get 12, it will cost $0.08. Scan your green bag tag and you make money on the deal.

      • butler68

What is a green bag tag

        • Donna

They have them at the registers for .99. It's kind of like another card to scan. It's a green leaf. You can only scan it once a day. And after the fourth visit you earn $1 ecb.

        • christie1225

Green bag tag. You buy one for 99 cents at cvs. Then put it on a reusable shopping bag (Use bag at CVS). Every time you go into CVS they scan the bag tag. You get 1$ ECB's every 4 visits.

      • Toni

What is Gold Emlem Candy? I got the same coupon? I love you buy idea.

        • tarabj

Gold Emblem is CVS house brand.

    • Amanda

I noticed she said if you use the store coupon on the huggies and the $2 printable one they would be 11.99 is the store coupon in the ad or where can I get it? Thanks

      • Heather

I got mine from the store scanner last week. Not all locations have these scanners. It acts as a price checker and when you scan your card, it prints out store coupons. HTH

    • couponkelly75

I'm unclear as to how for the Listerine deal you can use 2 manufacturer coupons for 1 bottle of Listerine? Can someone clarify? Thanks!

      • couponkelly75

I figured it out. Sorry for the post!

    • kemccarthy

Their are coupons in the reinventing beauty cvs mag for the soft soft body wash $1.00 and the colgate toothepaste $1.00

      • Cheap Chic

Where do you get the reinventing beauty cvs mag?

        • kemccarthy

Just ask the cashier at cvs. In my store they are at the front with other magazines. They are 99 cents but the coupons more than pay for it….

          • BB

Do you have to give them the coupon from the magazine. I have read where some people have used them over and over. Also will CVS take the magazine coupon and a manufactures coupon?

            • Mysterious_Mentalist

Magazine coupon is probably a manuf. Q. so cant be used with another one for one item. Check to see if it says “Manuf. Q” AND upc starts with a 9 or 5 followed by two sets of clustered numbers. If it does not say so, then its a store Q and can be stacked with some other manuf. Q. you might have

            • kemccarthy

I dont know he answer to your question. Hopefully someone else will. I do know that some of the coupons are manufacturer, so I am assuming you wont be able to stack those….

        • LindaB

In my store you can sometimes find the (card-stock thickness) coupon insert that is in the Reinventing Beauty right beside the magazine. They don't charge for these and usually have plenty of them available. So you don't even have to purchase the mag! Some Q's are manufacturer and some are store Q's.

          • WynetteC

I have never seen this but it doesn't hurt to ask. If that's the case, much better deal all around! ;)

    • Joanie

will cvs take the savalot coupon for gain for sure? i know some store take competitors coupons and some dont just wanted to make sure

      • maxchicken

I just cut the savalot logo off the coupon!

        • joanie

          never htought of tht thanks

      • mandy

Joanie – my cvs accepted the save-a-lot Gain coupon, & we don't have a local save-a-lot in Jax. Plus, it's a manufacturer's coupon, not a store coupon if u look at the top of the q.

        • Joanie

Thanks! I learn somthing new here everyday it seems glad you guys are here and know all this stuff!

        • Jan

How can I get the save a lot mailer?

        • WynetteC

Totally agree to the manufacturer coupon, but not every store agrees with accepting them. I give up on debating with various store employees (every chain has them) on this matter, it just makes me wonder “what's the point?” Besides, I have two younger sets of eyes who watch my every move and I must be careful the example I set for them. Knowing the truth and just letting it go has to be the hardest thing to do.

But on a lighter note there are those *few* employees who actually know coupon policy and faithfully reassure me that their establishment is reimbursed face value of the coupon regardless of whose logo is on the coupon, just so it says Manufacturer at the top.

      • carolgoss

I used it at my CVS yesterday. They scanned it as usual and it worked fine.

    • couponsrfun

Question: I have a coupon for $1 off one Gillette deodorant. I also have a coupon for buy a Gillette deodorant get a Gillette body wash free. Both coupons say “Limit one coupon per purchase”. Does that mean that I can't use them together to get the $1 off the deodorant while getting the body wash free?

      • mandy

No u can use them together. The $1 off is for the deodorant, while the “get body wash free” coupon is for the body wash. Therefore, u are using one coupon per purchase. 2 Coupons for 2 different items…

    • gramfam

Question: If a coupon reads, “buy 2 get $1.00 off” can you just buy one and get .50 off?

      • Donna

I don't think the coupon will ring up that way…although that is a good question.

      • tarabj

Unfortunately, no. You have to buy 2.

        • guest

tarabj is correct. The coupon will only work if you purchase 2 items.

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

Absolutely not. It is marketing. They want you to buy more and more. In this case, the manuf. wanna make sure that more quantity is sold.

    • Beth

Would someone be willing to help? I'm just getting started doing CVS. I'd like to take advantage of the Gain deal and the Softsoap Body Wash. Which should I purchase first so that I can start rolling my ECB's and using them?

      • tarabj

If that is all you are going to do, then I would suggest buying the Softsoap first & then the Gain. It kind of depends on which coupons you have also. I would seriously suggest scanning your CVS card many times at the kiosk in an attempt to get a $x off $xx coupon (like $5 off $15) and then you could do everything in a single transaction to get that extra savings. There are some really good filler items, like the B1G1 Revlon tools, to push you up to $20 if necessary (if $5/$20 prints).

Let us know which coupons you have & it will make it easier to calculate what to do.

        • Beth

          I have 1 $1.25 off of Gain, and 1 $.50 off Gain. I have 1 $1 off Soft Soap.

          • tarabj

            1 transaction: 14.22 8
            2 transactions: ss, g+g 10.22 4
            2 transactions: g+g, ss 10.22 4
            3 transactions: ss, g, g2 8.22 2
            3 transactions: g, ss, g2 8.22 2
            3 transactions: g, g2, ss 10.22 4

So it appears that you would be best to buy them in 3 transactions, Softsoap, gain, then gain again. This will be 8.22 OOP and leave you with 2 ECB for next week.

            • CaitlynB

Hey Tarabj, I just saw that you did the math for CVS, I am not understanding it. Would you mind “dumbing” it down for me?:)
              Thanks!

            • tarabj

              Sure:

              Buy everything in one transaction: SS 4.99 (-1) + Gain 5.99 (-1.25) + Gain 5.99 (-0.5) = 14.22. You get 8 ECB for next week (or whenever).

              Buy things in 2 transactions: SS 4.99 (-1) = 3.99 OOP & 4 ECB. Then Gain 5.99 (-1.25) + Gain 5.99 (-0.50) – 4ECB = OOP $6.23 & 2 ECB. Total OOP $10.22, get 4 final ECB.

              Buy things in 3 transactions: SS 4.99 (-1) = 3.99 OOP & 4 ECB. Then Gain 5.99 (-1.25) – 4ECB = .74 OOP & 2 ECB. Then 5.99 (-0.50) – 2ECB = 3.49 & 2 ECB. Total OOP $8.22, get 2 fnial ECB.

          • tarabj

I always used the -1.25 off coupon for the first gain in my calculations.

            • Beth

Thanks so much for showing the math – now I'm beginning to understand the strategy better!

    • poolel

I tried to print the form for the Aveeno, but when I click submit, nothing happens. Can anyone help?

      • Susan

the Bricks coupon pops up in a new window. You must turn your pop-up blocker off before completing the survey or you will not get the coupon.

        • poolel

          Thanks Susan.

        • Nancy Faulkner

Still can't get it. Turned off pop-up blocker and held down ctrl as soon as form came up. Oh well.

      • Carrie

Look higher up in the comments. I did what BB said and it worked great! You have to make sure pop-ups are allowed (can do this temporarily) and hold the control button down once you hit “submit” and don't let go of it until the coupon page from bricks comes up. Hope this works for you.

    • Heather

I'm waiting for the scenarios to get posted! I keep checking back! Thanks!!!!

    • Jan

How can I find/get the Save-a;lot home mailer?

    • tarabj

I have a $1 off any body wash CVS printed coupon that expires on 2/27. Gonna go late Saturday to get the Softsoap.

      • Logibearsmommy

Can you get the Sunday deals late Saturday night?

        • tarabj

My store changes over the registers sometime from 5 to 6pm on Saturday. You might want to call your store & ask them when they change the registers.

Note: They don't always have (read: never have) the sales posted in front of what you want, so you have to have to know what you are getting.

Another note: If something is on sale the closing week (ie 2/21 to 2/27) and it changes (ie starting 2/28) but still on sale, the registers will ring it as week 1 (clear as mud explanation, I know, sorry). Basically, check your receipt carefully & make sure the ECB you want actually print.

          • Logibearsmommy

            Thank You!!

        • Kelley

My store changes sales as early as noon!! I happened to be in the store once and saw the clerk changing the shelf tags.

      • kim

Print off the softsoap manufacturers $0.75 coupon if you don't have the $1.00 coupon from March All You or Reinventing Beauty Magazine. You can stack a CVS coupon with a manufacturers coupon. That makes it an even better deal!!

        • Carrie

Which CVS coupon are you referng to? If it makes it a better deal than the All You coupon, then of course I'd rather do that deal. Thanks.

        • brooke_b

The 1.00 off Softsoap coupon that came out of the reinventing beauty mag says use at cvs on it so i am assuming it is a cvs store coupon so I can use it plus the .75 MQ I printed off. So I can use both of them for one item getting 1.75 off! Right?

          • kim

I didn't look that closely at mine before I used it. I was really referring to her post when she said she had a coupon that came out of the red box machine that was for $$ of any body wash. Those can be stacked with a manufacturers coupon. I should have looked closer at the coupon from reinventing beauty! It's worth a try since it can only be used at CVS just make sure it doesn't say manufacturers coupon anywhere.

    • ToddDu

Valentine's has obviously come and gone but CVS candy is on clearance for 75% off, some candy selling for about $0.25/bag. Use CRT for $1 off 2 candies and you can get 5 bags for $0.24 + tax (cashier made me buy $1 worth of stuff). Jelly candies are good through mid to late 2011 so can stock up for next year

      • Josie

However, I'm afraid they might not make it until next year at my house! :)

        • mollie456

The Easter Bunny can use pink heart candy, kids won't know the difference…

      • joybuyer

Just went to CVS and got 6 bags of candy- they were $0.09 each! Bought a few more things, used the $1.00 candy coupon no probelm! Great deal, thanks for the tip!

        • Cheap Chic

What is the $1 off candy coupon?

      • Lucy

Valentine's sales at CVS were great. I got a lot of candy and three huge toys for the kids, all under $15. The toys were also 90% off, I got one for $0.67, and two for $1.49, kids are happy :)

    • natalie

I can't wait for Sunday! I got a $4 off $20 CVS coupon by email today, a $4 off Huggies boxed diapers coupon at CVS yesterday, a $2 off Huggies coupon, and $2 in ECBs.

Huggies Boxed Diapers $19.99 + cheap filler to make it $20
      – $4 off $20 coupon
      – $4 off Huggies CVS coupon
      – $2 off Huggies coupon
      – $2 in ECBs
= $8 OOP + 4 ECBs back for a box of Huggies Diapers!

Will someone verify this for me? It sounds too good to be true!

      • tarabj

Totally verified. <3 I can't wait to get a box of diapers for close to nothing as well (I have a ton of ECB, so I am getting them for $0.97!!!!)

      • irmolees

How do you get the Q's by email from CVS? I have an ExtraCare account with CVS and use my card a lot ??

      • christianehill

Hi – I'm new and received my EC card last week but haven't received a $4 off $20 coupon by e-mail. How'd you get it?

        • Mysterious_Mentalist

There is no “how.” Just keep scanning your card at the scan machines in stores to see if it will yield one. Also, register online with your email and card number and see if they will send you one sometimes.

          • christianehill

            Thanks!

        • natalie

You have to register your email address & ExtraCare card number at CVS.com. I have gotten a lot of coupons by email lately, but I think it is just the luck of the draw. Usually they are only good for a few days. For example, the $4 off $20 coupon that I got last Friday expired on Sunday.

          • Paula

Thanks for the info on the card natalie. I'll try this.

      • stefluvs2sign

Just make sure that you give the $4 off the $20 FIRST!

    • Allison

Where do you find the “Free Quattro” mail in rebate form?

      • guest

The MIR form is for the men's razor anyway, so probably not valid for this offer since the ECBs are for the women's razor.

    • Mandy

How do u know if your CVS will start the Sunday EB deals on Saturday night? What's the “rule” for this? Do u have to go at a certain time on Saturday night?

      Thanks!

      • sixsigmamom

I called around. Two stores said they don't activate their sales until Sun morning but one said they start theirs on Sat at 3 pm..

        • kim

One of my stores starts the sales on the Thursday before (makes my head spin) so if I feel like something is going to sell out or a coupon is going to expire I can get it super early!

      • CVSKristinAllen

Some stores activate their sales Saturday afternoon, or even in the morning on Saturday! Check with your local store to find out when the manager activates the sale prices. Also, if the ad is active on Saturday, you can take advantage of both weeks of sales.

    • Brandi

Did anyone else have trouble printing the Thermacare coupon? It tells me that I've already printed though I have not.

      • kim

When I got mine to print it was expired

      • kat843

I got mine to print with exp date of 3/30/2010…but would only let me print 1. But there are 2.00 off coupons on certain boxes at my store!

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

Thermacare deal was on not too long ago and you might have printed then and they have not reset the printing process. You may find $2 off peelie on boxes on the shelves. btw, does anyone know when these companies reset the coupon printer to allow repeat printing?

    • Julie

Where can I find the Free Quattro Mail in Rebate? (I have one from the newspaper coupons for a free Quattro Titanium, but that's for men, so I don't think it would apply.) Thanks!

      • kelli

the titanium is the only one that I know of

    • spiveym

My receipt last week printed a $4 off Huggies Diaper coupon as well! Suh-wheet!!!!!!

    • emilyinalabama

Do B1G1 ring up 1/2 price here or are they truely B1G1?

      • Ashley

They are B1G1. You have to buy two and one will ring full and one free. You can use a coupon on both.

        • emilyinalabama

why do you use 2 if the other is free? What does that do?

          • CVSKristinAllen

Say you are getting two bags of candy at $4 each. They are BOGO and you have two -$1 coupons. The cashier scans your card, the candy, and then the coupons, taking off $2. When the cashier hits the total button, the $4 for one of the bags of candy is taken off too, leaving you with a total of $2 + tax instead of $3 + tax is you only used one coupon.

          • Mysterious_Mentalist

Logically speaking, you are still buying two at the register-items are not being handed to you free at the door. Manufac. Q. pays for the purchase-you are still making a purchase; CVS is extending its discount on one of the item price that so happens to be $0.00. Moreover, B1G1 Free is a marketing gimmick. You are essentially buying two; the retailer is giving a 50% off on each item: Just two ways of saying for the same real transaction wether 50% off or B1G1.

    • kim

Here is a link for $1 off 1 arm and hammer dryer cloths. http://www.armandhammer.com/Index.aspx Click on savings center. Since these are B1G1 print 2 so you save $2 when you buy 2

      • kiku

how much it would be in CVS..

        • Kim

They were $4.29 each at my store so 2 for $4.29 then you can use 2 $1 coupons for a total of 2 for $2.29.

    • Kim

Anyone come up with any really good scenarios for this week?

    • kelli

I've got $27 ecbs expiring on wednesday…. I'm not excited about this weeks sales. :(

      • Carrie

If you don't want to “waste” your ECBs since there isn't much you want this week, then you could always get super cheap stuff, use your ECBs and donate the items to your local food bank or shelter. That way you'll be helping the needy and only paying tax for it.

      • amylaurenscott

I had some expiring this week too… couldn't use them all with what I wanted, so just bought toilet paper. We always seem to run out of that and I never can get enough. So if they are expiring, I just buy things that I know I'll need but at least I'm spending CVS money and not my own. Or I ask my mom and boyfriend what they need and get that.

    • maryc4

How much does the Olay Pro-X Facial Moisturizer or Cleanser run? I like the Clinical Strength Secret but have never purchased the Olay product.

      • Logibearsmommy

You're looking at 20+ dollars per Olay Pro-X product which I dont think would make it that great of a deal, but if you figure out a good deal please let me know, I would love to use that coupon!

    • Guest

Does anyone know can we combine a upromise coupon with a manufacturer coupon (like from a sunday paper)?

      • Megan A.

Yes. The UPromise “coupon” is credited to your account rather than applied to your purchase in-store, so it doesn't affect your transaction in any way.

    • Anonymous

I found 2 $1 Gain coupons (1/1 liquid fabric softener or sheets & 1/1 detergent both are any size any scents) However these will arrive via snail mail so I don’t believe we will get them in time for this weeks CVS sale. But go sign up! These are good coupons to have! http://www.expotv.com/coupons-gain-laundry-detergent

    • nfg

Can someone please answer this for me about the Huggies on sale for $19.99? Can I use a $4 off $20 purchase that was emailed to me along with the $4 off Huggies coupon that I received when I scanned my card along with a $2 manufacturers coupon and also a $4 ECB making my total $6? Would I need a small filler since the first coupon is for $4 off $20 and the diapers are $19.99 or is the coupon applied after tax? Thanks to anyone who helps!

      • CVSKristinAllen

As long as the $4 off Huggies is a CVS coupon, then YES!!! You can use all the coupons you mentioned! And don't worry about the diapers only being $19.99. Even though the coupons are taken off of the sub-total (generally), $19.99 is close enough that the computer will take the $4 off $20.
        -Kristin

    • CVSKristinAllen

      Hey all, it's me again.
      Here's a new tip!
New ads activate at midnight in 24 hour stores, but some stores that close in the evening may activate their ad on Saturday! If they do, you get the benefit of overlapping sales ads!

Take my store for example, the new ad posted for this week will be active in the afternoon, giving customers time to take advantage of two weeks of sales on the same day.

This is not true for all stores, so you may want to check out your local CVS and see if the next week's ad items scan as on sale at the coupon checker.

      -Kristin

      • Mandy

Thanks Kristin! I was wondering about that!!

      • Bettyann

Hey Kristin What store r u at????

    • Trish

I'm just getting started on the CVSing so I have a question. I see where there is talk about “x off x purchase” coupons. I get them BUT mine say “x off x CVS BRAND purchase”. Does this mean I can only use this coupon on their store brand merchandise? If yes, where do you get the other style coupon?

      • guest

If the coupon says cvs brand purchase, then yes that means you are only supposed to use it if you purchase that amount of CVS brand items. The $/$$ (or 'x off x purchase' as you say) coupons that can be used on ANY items will sometimes come in emails from CVS, or sometimes you get lucky and get one on your receipt or at the price-checking machine (you can scan your card at the machine and get coupons). It is pretty random, you never know what you're going to get until you get it.

    • kelly

I can't find the coupon for the Power Bars, says SS 1/03- checked both of mine and nothing. Did anyone find one?

      • Jane

I am in Charlotte area and have looked in both SS for 1/3 and I can't find coupon either

      • kelli

I'min southwest virginia and I didn't get it either… we miss out on a lot of coupons here.

    • WynetteC

The CVS red box machine was printing out $2 off any Revlon Color Cosmetic product the week of 2/14-2/20. Since this is a store coupon, pair it with a manufacturer coupon, and save big on make-up, this is not including the Revlon Tool line on my store coupon. But the tools will be cheap even with 1 manuf. coupon.

    • Nancy Faulkner

How are the Aveeno Qs issued? Email, link or snail mail?

      • mandy

The $5 off is instant. Once u register, it takes u to a bricks page to print the coupon.

      • Carrie

Check earlier posts on how to do this. Especially the one from BB.

      • BpGc

See above — have to turn off your pop-up blocker BEFORE you submit it

    • kelly1369

Does CVS offer gift cards for prescription transfers like rite aid does? Where do I find the coupons for it if they do?

      • TiyaC

My CVS honored the Rite Aid coupon. It depends on the store.

    • Wendy

There's a coloring book at Publix called, “Keep Our History Healthy” and in the back are coupons for Colgate-Palmolive products. I'm using the $.75/2 Speed Stick Deodorant today. Also has Softsoap body wash, Colgate toothpaste and Irish Spring coupons.

    • deares

Cheap Ensure this week, if I'm figuring correctly! If you need some, it'd be worth buying the extra coupons.
      Deal Idea:
      4 packs of Ensure @ 4.99 ea = $19.96
      3 $3 off coupons – 9.00
      1 B3G1 free coupon – 4.99
      TOTAL $5.97 for 4 6packs

      • Kathy

        Deares,
Where would I find the coupons for the ensure? I didn't get them.

        • mightymousemom

I don't believe I got the $3.00 off ensure product coupons either, I looked and looked for them. I live in the Charlotte, NC area. However, there are $1.00 off ensure coupons in this weeks paper, plus you can get the buy 3 get 1 coupon on the ensure website and a $1.85 off ensure on the website

          • guest

The Fort Mill Herald got the $3.00 coupons on 1/3, however the Charlotte Observer did not. I got both papers that weekend, and that was a big difference between them.

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

In my region, we got the B3G1 Free coupons and it looks like many other regions received the $3 off Q. So one region got one and not the other and vice versa. Or is it not?

        • guest

Yes, some areas got one coupon, some areas got another, and some areas got no Ensure coupons at all. Very discouraging for some people.

      • guest

The register will not accept the B3G1 coupon if you are only purchasing 4 ensure and also trying to use 3 of the $3 off coupons. *Usually* you can do this type of thing and the register will let you, but the way these particular coupons are coded, it actually attaches the b3g1 coupon to all 4 items and does not allow you to use the $3 coupons in conjunction with it. So you would be better off just using whatever $3 coupons you have available.

        • Mysterious_Mentalist

I thought so. I believe the $3 coupons say “one per transaction.” The reason they did was becaus ethey knew they had B3G1 coupon out too and the manuf. did not want too many coupons used by one cust. on same items. I am wondering if cashiers would push it thru or if they read it then it might be a valid objection. Would $1 off coupon out this week for Ensure work fine with B3G1? Anyone's experience with this various coupon combo?

          • guest

The $1.00 coupon would most likely not work either. The issue is not the $3.00 coupons, it's the way the b3g1 coupon is coded. The way it is coded, it is designed to attach to all 4 items as far as the register is concerned. A lot of times bxgy coupons are not coded to actually attach to the number of items you're purchasing, but in this case it is so it messes up any attempt to combine w/ a straight $/1 coupon.

            • Mysterious_Mentalist

Thank you! Looks like I will have to skip buying 4 of these just to use 4 coupons then. Good thing! saving a tree right there

    • Beteh

I just got back from CVS. The one in Concord at Geo Liles Pkwy starts Saturday at 3 btw. Anyways, I went for the Aveeno deal. The one Aveeno item that gives you the $5 ECB is not $19.99, it is $44.99 with 5 ECB. I was looking forward to younger eyes!!! Oh well.

      • mandy

        Ahhhhh, man :(

      • Amy

It was the same thing for me. The one that was $19.99 was called Positively Ageless and had no ECB. The one with $5 ECB was Ageless Vitality and priced at $44.99. I was also bummed. I was looking forward to some free cream.

      • jstar7

Thanks for the info. I'm in Concord too. I was surprised to see someone else from here!

        • beteh

The big city of Concord ;-)
I really really wanted the eye stuff. I understand that it is some of the best stuff out there. I have a problem paying 20 bucks, but with the rebate and the coupon and ecb's it was gonna be a great deal.

          • BB

I too was disappointed about the price difference on the Aveeno deal. The price has now been changed been changed up at the top of this page where the deal was first posted.

    • Carolin

I was going to the Schick rebate, but the rebate that I got from the newspaper is for Schick Quattro Titanium or Titanium Trimmer. These are the men razors. Oh well.

      • Logibearsmommy

        Same here :(

    • Jeannine

Hello Jenny.. I hope I am not out-of-line requesting the following: (If I am, please accept my apology) I printed the Aveeno $5.00 coupon, but the $15.00 rebate coupon did not print. Can you or another Southern Saver email a copy of the rebate form to me? My email address is: jhardigree@windstream.net Thanks!

    • Becky

I made a run to my favorite CVS in Powdersville, SC, (the manager, Joey, is awesome and so are all the cashiers) trying to get in on the Aveeno Ageless Vitality deal. I don't know if it's a regional thing or not, but It's not on sale for $19.99 in this area. (The Positively Ageless is $19.99, but does not quality for the extra bucks, the $5.00 off coupon or the $10.00 rebate.) They didn't have the Ageless Vitality at all in Powdersville, so I went to the Easley store and it is $44.99 there with a $5.00 rebate. Oh well, it would have been an awesome deal. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

      • Veronica

Same at Alexandria, VA stores, ringing up $44.99

    • jenniferholley

where is this candy coupon at?

    • Kim

If anyone is wondering, the L'Oreal Hair color deal does include the Feria products. Just got 2 of my color for $6 using ECBs plus I now have 5 more ECBs for upcoming deals. YEAH!

    • Kristin

Could someone tell me how to get the Aveeno Coupon? I registered and all it says is thank you for your request.

      • skflbeaches

If you have your pop-up blocker on, turn it off for that site. It will come up.

PS-Was there today and the price was $39.99, not $19.99 for the system

    • itismedia

So sad…not a single thing I need this week. We have toothpaste running out of our ears and everyone has been doing make-up sales so we are stocked there too. =+( no trip to CVS this week.

    • Mysterious_Mentalist

Slimfast 5-6 pack is, and as advertised with ECB only, $6.99 not $4.99. Is it just in my region? Do you have it on sale of $4.99?

    • Mysterious_Mentalist

      Ladies!

I was completely lost on loreal products in store.I have no idea what is what. I have all the coupons. Can someone please make up an efficient scenario for me on each ECB deal?

One is for $20 total on hair/skin products for $5 ECB and the other is $15 total on face/lip/eye product for $5 purchase. Please let me know if you have a good combination using maximum manuf Q. values with lowest price items such that total satisfies the maxim. purchase requirement and also make the use of maximum Q. values in the same transaction. Thx

      • Logibearsmommy

Well this is what I did. I bought 2 mascaras for 7.99 used 2 – 2.00 off coupons from the loreal website, then i used 5 ecbs from a previous transaction which made it 6.98 plus tax…. then I got back 5 ecbs. I'm not sure if that is a fantastic deal but it is much cheaper than I normally pay and I needed it so I am happy. I'm still not sure if the spend 20 get 5 back is a good deal since the way things are priced you must really spend at least 25 dollars and there aren't that many good coupons. The best I could come up with is on the ever pure shampoo, conditioner, or treatment. They are 6.00 and I have 4 2.00 off coupons so I'm thinking about doing that deal, just not sure yet. Hope this helps you! CVS wasn't a super week this week or last week so I am excited about next week, it should be good!

        • Mysterious_Mentalist

Thank for the response. I see that there is a $5 off coupon on their haircolor and haircolor is included in $20 offer. I am thinking two or three boxes of haircolor and some small filler (assuming 1 haircolor costs less than $10?) will somehow do well with two/three $5 Off cpns and 1 $xx off on the filler will make it? (probably $5 off would not have been offered for some lesser value haircolor)

Or else, I will have to skip it. Thanks anyway

    • Valerie

The Quatro razors have a coupon for $1 off the refills in them!

    • Godot

Although the Aveeno Ageless Vitality $5 ECB was noted in my local flyer, no price is given. Once in the store, it is more like $44, not $19.99. I did verify the price on the scanner, and the mngr said that was only product in that line he was aware of.

    • I didn't have any trouble printing the Thermacare coupon. I did find a box of Thermacare back wraps that had a $2 off manu. coupon — so I didn't have to use my $1 off coupon.

    • Amy J.

I almost did not do the CVS shopping trip this week until i realized the Kleenex were B1G1 (and we have no more 'back up' boxes), so here's what i got and what i paid OOP:

6 boxes of Kleenex Ultra Soft for $2.39 each B1G1
1 Soft Soap Serums Body Wash $4.99
      3 2-liters of Coca-Cola at 3 for $4

      Q's used:
      one- CVS $3 off $15 + purchase
      two- .50/3 Kleenex
one- $1 Soft Soap Serums B.W.
      $2 EB
      $7.99 EB
      TOTAL OOP = $1.96 including tax :-)
      i saved $24.73 today :-) that's 92.6%!
      that's only 19.6 cents per item :-)
and for my next trip, these printed on my receipt: got another $3 off $15+ purchase, $4 EB for SS Body Wash and $1 EB for Coke 2-liters.

I'm almost in the same boat as “itismedia”……we have toothpaste, toothbrushes, bodywashes and deoderants running out of our ears, so I may or may not make a CVS trip next week….of course it will depend on the sales and what products give the EB's next week! Happy CVS-ing everyone!

      • Tisha

Just a suggestion….I ended up stockpiling a bunch of toiletries when i first started this but then I realized I could donate it. So now I look for anything (soap, toothpaste, sanitary napkins, tampons, bodywash) that is free or close to free and I donate them to a food/clothing bank in my town. You could also donate to a homeless shelter. That way I get my “fix” (I LOVE finding stuff for free) without my cabinets being so overloaded I can't close the doors. :-)

        • Amy J.

I'll have to see if there is a food/clothing bank or a homeless shelter in my area…..i'm sort of in the middle-of-almost-nowhere Georgia, so not sure if they have those or anything similar here. I will investigate to find out though. Thanks so much for the suggestions, Tisha!!!

          • Anonymous

            Amy,

I send all my extra items to the troops in care packages. They love getting these boxes and it makes them feel like they have a little bit of home. You can go to AnySoldier.com and get address for the troops. Hope this helps!

    • jennifr1966

Where do you get the $x off of $y coupons?

      • stephenson

I've gotten all of mine thru email

    • Holly

I had a $3 of any gillette clinical strength deodorant coupon and I stacked it with the BOGO Deodorant get a body wash free coupon.

    • I wasn't sure if I would do the Huggies deal till I walked in and got a 4 dollars of a box coupon from the machine. So that sealed it!

      I got
Huggies Box of Diapers 19.99-4.00coupon ($4 in ECB back)
SS Nutriserums Body Wash 4.99-75cents coupon ($4 in ECB back)
Carefree pantiliners bonus pack 3.99 ($2 ECB back)
      2 boxes of Zone bars(bogo50%off) 9.75-55cents coupon
Schick Quattro 8.99 ($3 in ECB back) (No coupon in our paper :(

Had a 5 dollar off a 40 dollar purchase (not a good one, but figured it would work with the diapers) and spent 21 dollars that I had saved in ECB…..

So I spent $16 something OOP and got $13 back in ECB to use!!!!

This was a good senario to use for things we NEED- the zone bars ended up being about what I pay at Target, and I paid for them wih ECB. I ended up still doing the razor blades deal even though I didn't have the coupon b/c it was still a decent price and I needed them.

    • 1MiniMom

The CVS in Carrollton, GA has buy 3 Coke 2 liters for $4 get 1 ECB. Each of the bottles has a save $1 on two manufacturers coupons attached to the bottle. You can use one and save two for another time.

    • momsaver

I am still new to using CVS but today I headed there with 6 dollars in ECB and a coupon for vitamins and the 4$ off coupon for diapers and then a 2$ off coupon for diapers…after the lady rang me up it would not let her use the 4$ coupon and the 2$ coupon on the diapers. I thought one was a store (4$ printed off my reciept, and 2$ off from a home mailer), should I have been able to use both? Just wondering if someone could help me? Thanks

      • mary

yes, you should have been able to use both if one is a manu coupon and one was a cvs coupon.

“2 ECB wyb Clinical Strength Secret, Old Spice, or Gillette Deodorant $8.99 Limit 2
-$4/2 Old Spice Pro Strength Deodorant, PG 2/07
-$1/2 Old Spice Anti-Perspirant Deodorant or Body Wash, PG 2/07
FREE Gillette Body Wash wyb Gillette Deodorant, PG 2/07
FREE Clinical Strength Secret wyb Olay Pro-X Facial Moisturizer or Cleanser, PG 2/21 “
Where is this? I went to the store expecting this to work, and it didn't ring up, nor could we find it in the circular.

      • Amy J.

the Gillette Clinical deoderant is on page 13 in my CVS circular, upper righthand corner. May not be a CVS deal in your area if it is not in the circular.

What Jenny listed here are some different coupon options for this product.

    • jennifr1966

I came up with a deal idea. Go in twice. First time,
buy Softsoap, using $1 off coupon. Pay $4, get $4 ECB.
When you go back through line, buy Listerine and Thermacare.
(Listerine: With coupon, pay $3, get $1 ECB.
Thermacare: Using coupon, pay $8, get $5 ECB.)
With Softsoap's $4 ECB, pay a total of $7, receive $6 ECB back.
      HTH someone!

    • lizapickens

There is a 1.00 cpn in the CVS reinventing beauty mag for the Nutriserum body wash. Just in case you don't have the cpn from the paper…

    • amber8279

Husband THREW away my bioluxe rebate form thinking it was TRASH. If anyone could tell me the specifics like the rules and adddress to send it to I would be forever grateful!

      Thanks so much!

      Amber

      • kelli

in most cases, you have to send the original form in to qualify for the rebate.

    • emily_hope

I'm still learning about the CVSing and the ECBs. I think I did pretty well, today. I had $8 in ECBs from a previous trip and when I scanned my card today it printed a $5 of $15 purchase. I got $23.84 worth of products for .83 cents OOP. And I have $7.50 in ECBs for future purchases.

      • jennifr1966

        What all did you buy?

        • emily_hope

I purchased a large bottle of Listerine, 2 Colgate Total toothpastes, 1 Speed Stick deodorant, 1 Lady Speed Stick deodorant and 1 package Power Bar Energy Gel Blasts.

      • stefluvs2sign

THAT IS HOW YOU DO IT! GREAT FOR A NEWBIE! ATTA' GIRL!

        • emily_hope

          Thanks, stefluvs2sign!

          • stefluvs2sign

Last night first time ever walked out of CVS with ZERO balance on one of my transactions…what a great feeling! Did the Pantene with $3 off coupon then used the ECB towards the 2 toothbrushes plus had (2) 75 cent coupons then used the $8 ECB towards the cereal plus 2 $1 coupons and paid NOTHING…on top of that I got a $5 ECB and $1 for bringing my bag!

    • kt

I notice some of you talk about fillers well i work for cvs and every store should have a metal basket by the check out with caramels in it they are .33 cents thats about as cheap as your gonna get for a filler to reach your total. just thought i would let you guys know

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

Thanks. They are in a glass jar wher i go and have used them few times to reach my ECB total so I could get rid of extra ECBs sitting in my coupon holder.

    • Anonymous

I do not seem to get responses from the “Coupon Trader” on this site link, nor I see my postings when I sent in my requests.

Can somone please trade their $3/1 Ensure coupons with me this week? I need at least 3, but 6 would be nice. I will mail you B3G1 Free Ensure coupons. I have at least 10 of those and have no use for it before they expire on 3/31. I may also search for other coupons you may like. I have multiple copies.

      Please respond asap

    • jackie

OK, time to confess… the whole “Limit 1” thing with ECBs is just annoying! I understand them not wanting 2 people to clean them out and leave everyone else hanging, but 1 is too low a limit.

I play by the rules and stick to the 1 card per household restriction they ask for, but it's a little annoying to only get ECBs back on 1 box of diapers when I have multiple babies wearing different sizes… And I know it may sound a little petty, but a box per child would have been nice, especially since I have the store and manufacturer coupons to sweeten the deal!!

I know many people don't like Walgreen's because of the coupon ratios and the need for fillers but I will take buying 4 $.12 filler items so I can get 4 packs of diapers with RRs any day of the week…

      Ok, I feel better now!

Thanks for info and the room to vent, Jenny :o)

    • scmommy

The ARM & HAMMER 2-in-1 dryer sheet coupon I printed says save $1 on one, does that mean I can use 2 coupons if I am buying 2, even though they are B1G1? Still learning the ropes of couponing but finding this site and all the great comments really helpful, thanks to all, especially Jenny! :-)

      • julie

Yes, you can use two coupons! I did it today.

    • rcoupons

Where do you get the Free Quartro Mail in Rebate to go with the Quatro razors?

      • michele9775

I am trying to figure this out too…

    • joyfullysaving

Maybe this was said already but CVS has milk on sale and you get $1 ECB back… Limit is 2 deals. I had 1.16 OOP (inc.tax) and 12.50 in ECB
      2 Milks
2 MouthWashes (1 was a raincheck from 2 weeks ago)
      1 Softsoap body wash

My husband had his mouth open when I showed him the total…
Total OOP for Feburary 18.80 Total product worth 193.27
      YEAH!!! love CVSing

    • KJEH

Got a whole box of Huggies for FREE last night.

      grn. bag tag 1.00
      = around 22.00 w/ tax
-4.00 (had a 4 off $20 from dh signing up for a cvs card)

-4.00 CVS huggies cp that printed last week
      -7 ECB's from last week
-5.00 CVS gift card from a transferred RX
= A TOTALLY FREE BOX OF DIAPERS!! YAY!!
& of course I got back 4 ECB's for buying the huggies :)
I love southern savers…I never would have known about all this if it weren't for this site.

      • me

Just to clarify, they're technically not free if you had to use $7.00 ecbs to pay for them. You lost ecbs on the deal. You did not pay any OOP in real money, however you did relinquish some ecbs and gift card money for the deal. Technically after coupons and ecbs, the box did cost you $8.00, it's just that you had ecbs and giftcard money that you used to pay, rather than 'cash'. But it still cost you b/c you did not get back as much as what you put in.

This was a WONDERFUL deal, I'm just clarifying that it did cost you something, b/c it will help others better understand the deal.

    • cindy_9232

To add to the already GREAT deal on the Schick Quattro Razor for $8.99 with $3.00 extra bucks there was a coupon for $4.00 off in the SS Sunday, which makes it only $1.99. Also if you printed the $2.00 off any 1 Excedrin 20ct or larger you can get Excedrin for $.50 each with CVS sale Excedrin 2 for $5.00 if you didnt get it printed Sunday SS has $.75 off.

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

Thanks for reminding me the $2 coupon that I had printed, then filed and had forgotten about it. In my area, SS came with $1 off, not 0.75, on any 20ct or larger Excedrin ($1.50 Off on 80 ct or larger one) this week. I can use $2 off rather.

This deal could have been even better. There was CVs store coupon out for $3/2 Exced. (that expired on 2/28 on the day of the sale started), coupled with two $1 Off manuf Q.s and 2 bottles of Exced. would have been totally free.

    • erin

i am in Southern IL and a 5 off of 15 printed out from the scanner. Did a double take thining is must be a 3/15. It will go perfect with my huggies deal seeing as I didnt get a $4 off Huggies. I like this one better!

    • colagirl

Quick question. I went to CVS last night to buy Zantac. I picked up two boxes for 8.99 each. They had an ECB special on one that would make it 5.99. I handed over 2 $2 off coupons for each box and then a $5 off two. It would not accept all the coupons and I had to choose between the $5 off two or one of the $2 off coupons. In my past experience, it should have accepted all of them. Any thoughts? I was thorougly confused!

      • colagirl

To clarify, I had a $2 off coupon for each box, no 2 $2 coupons for each. :)

        • Stephanie B.

It sounds to me like you had 2 manufacturer coupons for each product: (1) $2 Q and (1) $5/2. My understanding it that you can only use one manufacturer coupon per item purchased, so in this case it is correct that you would have to choose which one to use.

      • colagirl

To clarify, I had a $2 off coupon for each box, no 2 $2 coupons for each. :)

      • renee06

If you were only buying those 2 items and used 3 coupons then that is why it wouldn't work. Most CVS stores won't let you use more coupons than items you are buying…next time this happens just pick out something inexpensive like a pac of gum to make your coupon amount = to the product amount. hope this helps

        • Mysterious_Mentalist

If I understand you correctly, it still wouldn't work. manuf. Q total can not exceed the total of that manuf. item only. In this case, the total amount of her purchase was $17.98 and three manuf Q amount was $9. Therefore, the total amount did not need any “filler” to absorb any overage which was not there. To my understanding, the manuf. Q total matches the total amount of their own products and would beep if last cpn value exceeds the total amount remaining (in which case, the cashier should manually enter the few cents less amount of the last cpn to fulfill the manuf total).

In this case, there were 3 coupons for 2 items, the register logic wont accept the third one and that's why it did not accept the third cpn. Therefore, for maximum benefit, 1 $5/2 Q and 1 $2/1 Q would shave off $7 from total perfectly. Or she could have used 2 $2/1 Qs and NOT use $5/2, in which case shave off would have been only $4.

          • Morgan

Assuming they are all manufacturer coupons, she could not have used the $5/2 AND the $2/1. It's one manu. coupon per item. If it says $ off 2, that counts for both items. So the best option would be to use the $5/2 coupon. That's it.

          • Mysterious_Mentalist

To clarify what might be ill-construed what I said earlier. Logically speaking, $5/2 coupons apply to 2 items being purchased. Therefore, one can not use, for example $2/1 for the same item/s. The whole idea of $5/2 Q. is to lure you to buy more quantity by saving more on multiple items than you would have saved on a single item. Thus, normally one Q $5/2 could be used and not even single of the other.

With that said, I was wondering if technically speaking, CVs register would accept the second Q $2/1 in addtion of $5/2 because two item UPc are scanned and therefore might allow 2 Q. upc to go with them. Not sure if the technology has improved and will now detect $5/2 applied to 2 items scanned.

            • guest

It would depend of if the coupons are coded correctly or not. There is UPC coding that allows a coupon to attach to 1 item, or 2 items, or more, etc. If the $5/2 coupon is coded correctly to actually attach to 2 items, then when purchasing only 2 items the register would absolutely not accept another coupon to be applied toward those 2 items. And EVEN IF the coupon was coded incorrectly so that the register would 'accept' another coupon on the items, it would be improper coupon usage as most coupons state that they cannot be combined with any other coupon or 'one coupon per purchase' which means that you are not allowed to 'stack' more than 1 manufacturer's coupon per item. Trying to circumvent the wording of a coupon by 'decoding' it to see if it will 'work' even when it says it shouldn't is not a good idea b/c once a store catches you trying to get away with something that is not allowed by the wording of the coupon, they will forever remember you and not in a good way….

      Hi,
I am hoping somebody can help me. I am interested in the Nexxus deal – 10 ECB wyb $ 20, products start at $ 3.99. Do I have to buy 6 items for $ 3.99 or will the 10 ECB print when I only buy 5 ($ 19.95 5 cents shy of the $ 20)?
      Thanks for your help,
      Diana

      • guest

Sometimes with these kinds of promotions, the ecbs will print if you are a few cents short of the $$ amount stated. But really the only way to find out for sure with each individual deal is to try it out and see what happens.

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

Once mine printed when I was short of 3 cents. So, 5 cents may not be too far when it comes to ECB requirements. I m thinking, they may have allowed at least 5 cents shortage, but would really like to know the maximum cents shortage. Where do you get the coupons to use at cvs? If you look at the list of deals… only so many of them have printable coupons but I dont even have a printer. I'm new to this CVSing thing and am wanting to try it out for the first time today but where do i get the coupons? I have their ad from the store but no coupons in it. Maybe some of the coupons are smartsource coupons. I'm not sure. Can anyone help me out? thanks

      • Bettyann

the coupons are in your sunday paper.

      • Logibearsmommy

You really need a printer or get access to a printer, a ton of coupons that are used come from the internet! Hope this helps you!

    • kelli

I heard that there was a Prevacid mir in Parade yesterday. I was thinking that it was Saturday all day and I totally missed getting papers…. would anyone be willing to mail me an extra one that they have? I've got TONS of coupons I could trade.

      • Anonymous

Sure thing, I always get two papers on my way home from church and I don’t need them both. :-) If you don’t want to post your address, you can e-mail it to me at ashlec@yahoo.com and I will get it in the mail to you. If you have (and do not need) any diaper or baby food coupons I would be glad to take them off your hands, but if not, no biggie.

        • kelli

thanks so much for the offer! I will email you. :)

      • Logibearsmommy

I have a 6.00 and 10.00 off from parade that you are more than welcome too if you want them, I dont see a mir in this one.

        • kelli

thanks for the offer. I'm really looking for the mir. I wouldn't probably buy it if it weren't free or really close to it.

    • Amy8794

I live in Florida and got $1 ECB for buying a gallon of TGLee milk!

    • Mindy

If I have 3 separate $2 ECB's, can they be used at the same time or can I only use one?

      • kelli

you can use all of them

    • julie

Where in the store are the Power Bar Gels thingies? Thanks!

      • BB

With the energy bars. Just ask and they will show you if you don't see them.

    • renee06

I've just started CVSing and am excited to start saving, but I have questions. Today was my first day using my CVS card. I went in and only bought items that rewarded you back with ECBs. My mistake was that I didn't know there were limits… so I bought 2 bought softsoap bodywashes thinking I'd get $8 ECB back ($4.99 for 1- Get $4 ECB back) after I left the store I saw that there was a limit of 1 for this offer. So to get to my question, I was wondering if the limit is set just that purchase or does it mean that with my CVS card I can only take advantage of this deal 1 time during the pomo? Not that I need anymore soap, but just wondering for my future trips. even after my slip up I'm excited to start “rolling” ECB!

      Thanks!

      • melissa

if the limit is one it means during the whole promo. I just got a second card in my husbands name so I can do th deals twice. I did this after a cashier asked me once “do you have a second card or is this all under one account.” You just have to pay attention to which bucks go with which card. I marked mine so I can tell. At the bottom of the receipt it will say “limit reached” next to the ecb deals. if it doesn't say that go back in and do it again. sometimes the limit isnt really 1 but never assume you can do it more then advertised just watch your receipt and it will tell you. Also I love when CVS is sold out. I pick up rainchecks all over the place ad then can take advantage of the deals later. Sometimes I can get the item later in the week when they restock. In most cases the cashier lets me keep the raincheck since the deal is still valid and when the deal is over I can go back and get it again.

        • renee06

thank you for explaning and also for the raincheck tip!

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

In your ad., it will tell you “Limit X”. Assuming you are using just one card (and use just one, more than enough), then that is what your looking for. If the ad says Softsoap $4.99 and get back $4 ECB limit 1, then it is just one time on that card. You may buy more items at that price (they would be happy), but ECB wont print again and again for that week promo.

If the ad says Colgate $2 ECB when you buy 2 for $5 with “limit 2” then 2 for $5 is one offer with ECB of $2. But limit 2 means they are doubling the same offer for you. So you may go back and buy 2 more colgate and get another $2 ECB fora total of $4.

Also, it would be a good idea to buy each offer separate so that your ECB may print in smaller denomination. If you had bought 4 Colgate together in one transaction, from above example, then you would get ECB $4 which would be harder to break when you need to use them for smaller due amount.

I have a sick little girl and am taking her to the doctor this morning. Does anybody know where I can find a coupon for a gift card with a new prescription? Thanks!!!

      • crystalfawn

Hope she feels better soon…Go to TARGET! Their ad this week has a $10 gift card with new Rx.

      • kelli

there was a coupon in my rite aid ad this week

    • Tanya

I know that some one has a sale on reach toothbrushes this week. I missed Krogers sale last week and still have $1 off reach toothbrush. Anyone know?

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

I saw Reach Floss on Target tab here

      • 3monkeysmom

Walgreens has the Reach Prevent toothbrushes for .99 with the Walgreens coupon in the ad. I had the $1Q too but they wouldn't let me use them both:-)

        • Stepadoodle

Our Walgreens will let you use both as long as you have more items than coupons (so you might have to grab something for 39 cents to have an extra item, but it still might end up saving you more)!

          • 3monkeysmom

Okay, here's the scoop :-) I was trying to buy 3 toothbrushes. I had (2)$1 coupons, a BOGO coupon and the Wags coupon. I had a few other things I was buying too and I actually had fillers and the perfect coupon to item ratio but the register still wouldn't take it :-( I'm wondering if it's because the the Wags coupon made them .99 and the manufacturers (did I spell that right, it looks weird) coupon was for $1. The cashier tried to use both. She even voided the transaction and started over, using the coupons in a different order but it still wouldn't go through. Oh well, just a toothbrush :-)

    • Mysterious_Mentalist

      What Revlon product/tool is $1.99?

      • momma2mmc

At HT it was the nail clippers. I haven't looked for it at CVS.

    • Lacie

Where do you get the “all you” coupons..I'm new at this.

      • Binkle

It's a magazine called “All You.” It has tons of coupons in it. Well worth purchasing!!

      • Bettyann

Its a magazine that you can only find at Walmart in the check out lane, I believe that its there magazine ( Walmart)

      • michele9775

It's a really great magazine!!! Try walmart is where I got my first one, now I subscribe.

      • Susan McCormick

It can be found at Walmart.

    • meghanld

So sad, I have misplaced my ECB's from last week. I can see that they are still active on my card, but I can't find the actual paper that was printed off. Does anyone know if there is a way that CVS can just credit me for the ECB's without me having the actual paper in hand?

      • Suemh

I have been told that if you call the customer service number on the back of your card, they will re-issue them t be printed out the next time your card scans. I have not done this myself. Good Luck

        • guest

CVS's official policy is that they do not replace lost/stolen/etc ecbs. *Sometimes* a person will get lucky when they call CS and will get a nice person who will 're-set' their ecbs, but it is not policy and doesn't always work. If they do re-set them for you, they will call it a 'one time courtesy' and I believe they *might* make a note on your account that they've done this for you one time already (not totally sure about that, I've heard people say that they were told this when they actually got a CS person to nicely re-set their ecbs for them, but I cannot personally confirm). IF you get a nice person who will re-set them for you, they will not reissue them individually, but rather as 1 big lump sum. So if you have 5 $4 ecbs that you've lost, you will not get back 5 individual $4 ecbs, you would get back 1 big $20 ecb. Just so you know. :)

It is very important to protect your ECBs like cash, b/c in most cases you cannot get them back if lost. Some people keep them in their wallet like their cash, others may keep them in an envelope or in a coupon-organizer along with their coupons that they wish to use at CVS so that it's harder to lose them.

          • CVSKristinAllen

If you don't do any form of coupon sorting like mentioned in the tutorials, you can always wrap your coupons around your CVS card. A bit tacky, but you'll be able to find them.

    • Amanda

Does anyone know where to get a cvs coupon for like 5 off 25 or 3 off 15 my 4 off 20 expired sunday and i wanted to combine it with my huggies diaper coupon and get a good deal on diapers that we really need.

      • crystalfawn

I scanned my CVS ExtraCare card at their little red machine and out came a $5.00 off $25.00 coupon. It's worth a try :-)

      • Amanda

Thanks for your help did you get that coupon recently?

        • crystalfawn

Yes…Got it this past Saturday. In fact, I got that $5/$25 cpn as well as a coupon for $2/$10 on Neutrogena facial care products. They expire on 3/13. Hope you get the $5 off $25 cpn too!

    • njnsl

Can someone tell me what to do to print the Aveeno coupons from bricks.com? It always comes up that I need to install the coupon printer. I try to do it and when I select run, nothing happens; then it cycles back to my needing to install the coupon printer. Is it because of filtering software? I'm able to print all coupons except those from bricks.

    • Jesskids

Can you use the ECBs on the purchase you are making at that time?

      • Suemh

No. You do not receive them until after you have paid. They are printed at the bottom of your receipt. You can, however, use them for a second transaction. HTH

        • Jesskids

Thank you. That is what I did. I thought of it after I posted the question.

    • michele9775

Does anybody know how you get the rebate for the Quattro Razor? It doesn't mention it in the actual ad but it does here? I am brand new at this. Thanks!

      • crystalfawn

It was in the 2/7 Smart Source insert of the Sunday paper.

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

I think the rebate in theSS insert is for men's razor type. The sale at CVS is something else, for women, and wont qualify for rebate. So, you may wanna skip it for now and see if a sales comes along for the rebate one.

    • Jill

Please help me with cvs coupon policy. I am new to cvsing and am trying to get in on the deals. I went in tonight and found some clearance Hershey's Bliss for .75. I also realized I had a coupon for $1 off bag. I was so excited! Of course the coupon beeped, i thought because of overage, but the cashier told me CVS does not accept coupons on clearance items. This sounds crazy to me and I've never heard this about any store before. I was really bummed.

      • Mysterious_Mentalist

This is new to me. I have used manuf. and CVs printed Qs for clearance items without any problem. In cases I bought, the manuf. Q value did not exceed the clearance price though.

      • CVSKristinAllen

Mysterious_Mentalist is correct! I work at CVS and as long as you have a positive subtotal, the cashier can adjust the value of the coupon to match the price of the item. It does not matter if the item is clearance or not, we get reimbursed for the coupon s by the manufacturers.

    • annakmatson

question about the nexxus hair care products. 10 ecb when you by $20 nexxus hair care. does this mean i have to buy 20 dollars worth of nexxus or can i buy $20 and a nexxus product was of the things i bought?

    • anna

i posted a question but it disappeared. It says 10ecb when you buy $20 nexxus product. does that mean all $20 has to be nexxus?

      • KIm

Yes, it must be Nexxus- I just did that deal on Saturday.

    • rcoupons

I scanned my CVS card today and received a $5.00 off $15 purchase! I was happy.

      • 3monkeysmom

I scanned my CVS card today and got…..absolutely NOTHING!!! Not even the crappy CVS brand coupons I usually get. GRRRRRR!!!
        Happy for you though :-)

        • mcleodsc

If you have any of the $1 off CVS hair care you can use it for the 99cents CVS shampoo or conditioner. My store has 2 scents and they were on the bottom shelf. Just look at the distributer and compare it to Fruitopia -if they are the same then it is a CVS product. I have got a free shampoo each time the red box gives me that coupon. I will probably donate some of it.

    • helenbarnes03

ok just did the diaper deal at cvs hereis what i got

huggies size 3 box diaper $19.99
      3 off 15
      (1) $4.00 off cvs q that printed last week
      (1) $2.00 mq
      $6.00 ecb from last week
      total out of pocket $6.52
got back 4 ecbs so it was like getting them for $2.52!!!
      wow

      • guest

Actually it was like getting them for $8.52. Remember, you 'spent' that $6.00 ecb from last week, therefore it 'cost' you that extra $6.00 even if it was not cash out of your pocket.

    • oconeegirl

This may not be the correct place for this question. I'm new and trying to figure all of this out. Is there a place on this site to search for a specific grocery item to see which store, if any, might have it on sale??
      Thanks!!!
      Angie

      • KIm

Yes, go to the Weekly Top Deals tab near the top right of the website and you should be able to search what your looking for.

        • jen

If this tool is what I think it is, that sounds totally awesome. That being said, can you explain a little bit more where it is? I looked at all the tabs on the top and didn't see it.. the closest thing I saw was “Weekly Inserts”. I'll apologize ahead of time for being daft.

          • helenbarnes03

it is at the top bottom row on the right side of tabs that say Weekly Top Deals.

    • amylaurenscott

So, I bought the Power Bar gels last week, when they were free after ECB, but that deal was for Feb 1-28. On the tag this week, the tag said the sale was for this week only (Feb. 28 – March 6). I know the limit is one but could I buy them again and get the ECB?

I know it's only $1.50 but I'm a runner and those gel bites were really helpful on Monday when I ran 6.5 miles :). If you're into working out you should try them.

      • kelli

I read on another website that it's a different deal.

I wish I knew if I could buy another one this week (didn't buy mine until sunday of this week) and still get the ecbs. I'd never spend $1.50 on them, but I'd love to have another one for free!

    • Suemh

No. You do not receive them until after you have paid. They are printed at the bottom of your receipt. You can, however, use them for a second transaction.

    • berneta

      Hi Jenny!

Thank you so much for offering the Extreme Coupon 101 class. Could you please give me a little more information about using the CVS Caremark card? Is it only on prescription or also on items in the store?

      • CVSKristinAllen

If what you have is a white CVS card keytag, you can use this to replace your red card. This new card will give you the sale prices, reward you with coupons, and store up % from purchases for seasonal reward bucks. Be sure to join the red card and white card together on one account if you want to use the coupons with either card. You can join the accounts by calling 1-800-SHOP-CVS and speaking with a customer service rep.

    • MeNTn

For some reason when I click the printable link for the Lumene products, I don't find a coupon. Is there a certain zip code I need to enter on the CVS website?

    • Jesskids

Yesterday I went CVSing for the first time and I ended up spending $10.60 and I saved $30.10! I think I will do this again :)

    • jsmomof4

I live in Florida and I can't figure out how taxes are calculated at CVS using coupons and ECBs. Can someone help me with this?

      • guest

Tax laws vary some between different states. In Texas, shoppers pay tax AFTER all coupons have been deducted – so if they buy $10 worth of stuff and use $10 worth of coupons, they pay no tax at all and get everything for free. Sadly, most states are not like Texas. I have not done any couponing in FL, however I can tell you how I know it works in SC (many other states are similar to NC and SC, but not all of them). It may possibly be similar in FL, so hopefully this may help you figure it out.

In SC, tax is charged after *store coupons* have been deducted. CVS coupons like the $4/$20 and similar coupons are recognized as a *store coupon* and basically function in the register as a discount. If you purchase $20 worth of stuff and use a $4/$20 coupon, you are not charged tax on the $4 that is deducted – the coupon is treated as a discount. Most ECBs are generally *not* considered to be store coupons, and normally you DO have to pay tax on the amounts that they pay for. If you purchased $20 worth of stuff and used $20 ECBs to pay for it, most likely you will be charged tax on the $20 worth of stuff. Same thing goes for manufacturer's coupons – if you buy $20 worth of stuff and use $20 worth of manufacturer's coupons, your subtotal will be $0.00 but you will have to pay the tax from your original $20 total. If you were to buy the same $20 worth of stuff and use a $4/$20 coupon and $16 worth of coupons and ECBs, you would have a subtotal of $0.00 after coupons, and you would pay tax on the $16.00 total that you had after the $4/$20 coupon was applied (remember the 4/20 is a store coupon and functions as a discount, so you do not pay tax on the $4 that was taken off from it).

There are some exceptions to the ecbs not taking off tax, though. For example, if your ECB does not print at the time of purchase as it should, and you have it manually printed for you, when you redeem it, it will be recognized by the register as a store coupon and will function as a discount. The same thing goes for when you use a raincheck that gets back ecbs – since they have to print raincheck ECBs manually, when you actually use those manually printed ecbs, you are not charged tax on the amount that it pays for. Also, quarterly ecbs (the 2% that you get back from your quarterly spending) and ecbs that print from using the CVS Green Bag Tag count as store coupons and function in the register as a discount, and you are not charged tax on those amounts. I *think* that ecbs earned from purchasing CVS brand products also work this way, but I haven't purchased any CVS brand products earning ECBs in awhile so I'm not completely sure.

If you'll notice on your receipt, when you use CVS coupons and ECBs, some of them will show up as 'CVS Coupon' and some will show up as 'CVS manufacturer coupon' (can't remember the exact abreviation that they use for 'manufacturer' but you get the idea) – the ones that show up as 'cvs coupon' work as a store coupon and function as a discount and you are not charged tax on those amounts. $/$$ coupons, manually printed ECBs, quarterly ECBs, greenbagtag ecbs, and actual CVS store coupons will show up as 'cvs coupon' on your receipt and you will not be charged tax on the amounts that they take off. Regular ecbs will show up as 'cvs manufacturer coupon' and you will be charged tax on those amounts. Manufacturer coupons will just show up as 'coupon' and you will be charged tax on those amounts.

As stated before, these rules work in SC and I cannot guarantee if the tax laws are the same in other states or not, but it may serve as a guideline to help you figure out if your state works the same way or not.

    • CVSKristinAllen

      Hey everyone!
I found a hidden deal at my store. At the last register (towards the front door) there is a little box with single servings of Hersey's Kisses.

They are ringing up for $.06!!

Perfect if you need just a little more to use all your ECB's!

      • guest

That is awesome! I was just telling one of my friendly store managers the other day that if CVS would put a basket of rocks with $0.01 price tags by the register they'd come in really handy for couponers! LOL

    • CVSKristinAllen

Also! CVS has started a new customer rewards program for photos!
For every $20 you spend in 4×6, 5×7, 6×8, and 8×10 photos, you receive a coupon for a free 8×10 print. The computer keeps track of how much you spend, so you don't have to do all $20 at once.

The coupon will print 48 hours after the qualifying purchase. I know, I know, this brings back nightmares from three years ago when all CVS ECB's were like this, but I would say just bear with us and speak up to customer service that the coupon should print instantly instead of two days later…

      Happy Shopping!

    • sarabrwn

what a day i had just trying to get cheap diapers lol. 4 cvs' didn't have the size i needed in the box, finally i ended up back at the first store i tried and got 4 of the packages, the manager let me use the $4 off huggies box, plus my (2) $2 mani q's, a $3.00/2 q, a $4 off $20 AND gave me the ecb i would have gotten with the boxes! he told me if there was ever a problem with coupons at any other store, or i needed the same product and they were out, to come see him and he would “make it work” for me. what a SUPER nice guy!!! this is why i'd much rather stick to cvs than walgreens lol

      • guest

That is great when you find a store with a manager that is willing to bend over backwards to make a customer happy. :)

      • Krista

I LOVE cooperative managers! I've also been told by my CVS and Walgreens to just buy the size diapers they have in stock that is part of the ECB deal, keep the receipt, and exchange it for the right size when they have more in stock. That seems like a good option to me because then I still get the “deal” without running all over town.

    • Heather

Where do I get the rebate for the Quattro razor? Any suggestions?

    • Anonymous

Buy 2-24 packs of Zephryhills water on sale for $2.99 each and use coupon for a FREE 6 pack of Zephryhills Sport Bottle Waters normally @2.99. Coupons can be found on Coupons.com :-)

    • stefluvs2sign

Tonight I bought 1 Schick Quattro razor refill (used $4 off), 4 boxes of A&H 2in1 dryer sheets (BOGO used 2 $1 off and 2 .55 cents off, and 2 CVS brand candy to put me over $20 to use my $4 off $20 and another $4 ECB…total OOP $4.91! and I walked away with $4 ECB ($3 for razor and $1 for bring my own bag!) SO I guess technically I paid 91 CENTS!
