Here are the deals available at CVS starting Sunday, March 13th.  It’s a good week!  I love any week that requires that you buy things you don’t need to help save money on other deals (check out the scenario at the bottom to see what I mean).  I know there are people in your town that would love free adult pads, so BUY THEM, make $2.50 and then use that towards something you do want.

If you see any other deals leave a comment below.

Can you use the coupon of irish spring deodorant from coupon.com in cvs, I thought you can only redeem it at walgreens?

    • Vtkelly

I'm excited to see ECB's on formula, we have to buy that every week anyways.

    • Amandagarrisonsawyer

I signed up for the Recycle Bank Mailer, will they automatically mail the coupons or am I missing were on the web-site to sign up for them?

      • Julie

They mail the coke reward coupon to you. It took about 2 weeks for me to get it. You redeem your points for the coupon and then “check out”. They send you an email confirmation. Some coupons you can print immediately. The coke coupon they mail to you.

      • You have to go and order the coupons under “Rewards” at the top of the site.

        • HeatherAnne:)

I checked the rewards section, can’t seem to find the mailer?

        • nancy

I don't understand either. I registered. When I tap on Coke rewards, it shows
75 points in my cart or something but no mention of a coupon to use?

    • Bee

Am I the only person who is getting bummed about recent Coke prices? I've only bought a couple of 2 liters in the past few weeks and wonder if I will be regularly buying Coke products again.

Even with the deal $4.33 is too high a starting price.

      • Julie

Yeah, if you are playing over $3.33 for a 12 pack of coke (i generally wait until under $3), you are over paying, period. Too many places offering deals to buy these.

      • guest

I don't know where you are, but Publix has been having an tear pad coupon for free snyders pretzels when you buy a 24 pack…which is ok i guess. there is a tearpad coupon for 2L right now too. There is a coupon in the yellow advantage flyer for those small cokes, you get a few dollars off of a meat or deli purchase..to that effect. But, yeah, prices have been high, I agree, and you have to go to Publix.

        • Bee

          I wish I had a Publix. Maybe one day…

      • You didn't get the memo that the world is ending and you'll be paying $20 a case for coke soon?

        :-)

        • Bee

No, others will be paying $20 a case. I will be drinking water and tea, LOL.

          • Bamasaver

I love reading the posts that give me the giggles! But…when this ol' world ends for this girl, I'll be sitting at the feet of Jesus for the rest of eternity!!! So I won't care about the price of Cokes, but they (along with everything else) do seem to be getting outrageous in price, huh?

      • Angel

I saw a Family Dollar paper today. They have 2 liters for .89. I will be stocking up.

      • CCShad

If you have the Harris Teeter EVIC, you get Coke 12 packs for $1.88 this Saturday only. Limit of two per card.

    • Amie

My CVS stores in town are open all night and they DO start the sales on Saturday.

      • Rebeccajo1115

What time do you need to go in Saturday?

        • Amie

I've been in as early as 4pm but as late as 10pm and was able to get both week's deals at the same time.

          • Katie

my store usually has the sale started by noon on saturday, i just pick and item on sale and scan it to make sure! just ask a cashier!

    • How does Reycle Bank work? I just signed up but I don't get it. How do I get a reward when I just signed up?

    • Yuppiepup

In Transaction 4, don't you have to spend $25 or are they not strict about that???

      • Firstbrownie

She split it up between two transactions: #2 and #4. Your card will keep track of purchases for you and she will still get the $10 ECB when she completes her total of $25. hth!!

        • Jenn

So I don't have to get the whole $25 in the same transaction?

          • Caitin

nope, you just have to complete the $25 during the sales period. It is tracked on your receipt as to how much more you have to spend to get the ECB. HTH :-)

            • PNar

That is so cool….made my day :)

          • Bamasaver

No you don't; CVS tracks the purchases w/ your card #.

      • Brooke

The Charmin Fresh Wipes in Transaction 2 count toward the $25

    • Kristy

Can someone please tell me how CVS handles coupons that are greater than the value of the item being purchased? In this case, the Theraflu. Thank you!

      • They will reduce the coupon. They are not like Walgreens.

      • Sarah

I think it depends on your store. I've gotten overage before, but lately I get this one cashier who is coupon clueless and he get so confused. The last couple of times I just told him to adjust the coupons down because he was going to tell me I couldn't use them otherwise.

        • happilysavingmoney

My store usually allows an overage if I am purchasing other items. Helps out alot, have been in the neg. a few times, just went and picked up some cheap NYC cosmetics to bring up the total to a positive amount. HTH

      • Amanda

The cashier I had today did not reduce my coupons, and at the end she owed me $.10, so she made me buy something else.

      • Kaiuni

My CVS told me I could not use the theraflu coupon for $2.00 off because the product was .99cents. After a long debate I convinced them to just reduce the coupon amount. Worst trip ever to CVS.

    • Kristy

I have one of the $3 off Neutrogena cosmetic coupons if anyone is interested. I can put it in the mail tomorrow morning.

      • Ashleyw81

I would LOVE to have it! How should I contact you with my address? And are there any coupons you're looking for so I could return the favor?

        • Kristy

You can email me your address. My email is clintsgirl612@yahoo.com. Sorry, I should have put that in my original post. Thank you for the offer, but I don't know of any specific coupons I'm currently looking for.

      • Christy

If you still have it, my address is
        Christy Johnson
        231 Katie Drive
        Cowarts, AL 36321

        • Pjteaches

I have 2 coupons and will mail you one and Janelniles one also if you haven't gotten it.

      • Janelniles

I would love to have it! I really need some makup! my address is 5775 stoneridge drive columbus ga 31909, janel niles, thank you for the offer!

    • Nichols_again

So tired of flu med and cold med deals..UGH

    • RJ

I thought only sales and not ECBs started on Saturday??? Does that vary by store?

      • Bamabobbie

Stores vary when they start printing ECB's on Sat I believe. Wags starts sales Sat afternoon but no RR's until Sunday in Birmingham where I go.

        • RJ

just confrimed with my store that both sales and ECB's start Saturday evening :-) Sweet. I can do the Nutriskin deal – just wish I could do it two times!

          • Bowtifan

Sign your husband up for a new card!

          • Gillyp3864

RJ-take your other Q’s to WM and get em free like folks have been doing foe 2 weeks now.

            • Thesmithsofop

My Wal Mart has not had the Nutriskin on the shelf for the entire time the coupons have been out. I wonder if they will reappear once the coupons expire…

    • Cedarhillcabins

Just found out that our CVS starts their sales on Saturday. I never knew but excited to hear this!!!!

    • Holly Brannigan

I believe that the 2nd Tena product is supposed to be .99 no 9.99 :)

    • Linds..:)

I had no clue that CVS started their Sunday sale on Saturdays!!! I guess I should call my own local CVS' and see if they do. What time is the best to go on Saturdays??

      • Shelleyschu

24-hour stores start the sale on Saturday nights. (at least at mine) they have both the previous and the next week sales active since they have to start at midnight.

    • killerdealz

Oh lovely – another deal on a feminine hygiene product. I (a man) always feels so embarrassed to pick up those kinds of deals!!!! But $2.50 feels better in my pocket than the short period of embarrassment.

      • Seb

        Funny!

      • Gillyp3864

Good grief….man-up and buy the darn things. A deals a deal. Donate to a relative or another idea is to take em into work and have a female co-worker put them in their ladies room for them to use. They'll appreciate it.

    • Jbush27

I printed off the Advil coupon for $2 off and the coupon expires 3/2/2011. Any one else try it?

      • Kristen

I am going to cut that part off and cross my fingers it works!!

        • couponnut

I would not suggest doing that. That is coupon fraud and if people start doing that then stores will not get their money back. We don't want to hurt the stores we love to shop at for one single deal. There will be other pain reliever deals I promise. I would hate for our stores to change their coupon policies because of something like that.

    • On the Dentek $2 ECB when you buy $5, can I buy $10 in one transaction and get $4 ECB in that transaction, or do I need to split it up?

      • Sarah

I'm not sure what the limit is. If the limit is not one, then you can split it up (you can even split up the first one).

    • Stinemetz C Coupon

grr the 3/1 purex coupon is not in my red plum! any one else have the same problem?

      • Tnsnead

        I didn't have it either! =(

        • Danielle

I have 4 of the Purex coupons that I will not be using. If anyone needs diaper/forumla coupons let me know. Email me at danielle.sudduth@yahoo.com

          • Burroughs85

Does anyone else have extra Purex coupons? If so, I’d love to make an exchange for any I have! Email me at burroughs85@gmail.com please if anyone interested!

        • Laferrera

Email me too and I will mail u 2. Laferrera@comcast.net

      • heather

        I didn't get it either:(

        • Laferrera

I have extra if u want 2. Send me ur address laferrera@comcast.net rather u have them than expire and I have enough Pyrex for a solid year!

      • Leannhottel

      • Sarahbeth1210

I believe I have two of the 3.00 purex qpons if someone wouldlike them. Email me your address to sarahbeth1210@hotmail.com

        • Amy

I just sent you an email .. are there any coupons you are looking for so that I could return the favor?

    • April

I have only been using coupons for about a month and I don't understand the coupon part of this deal:

$2 ECB WYB (2) Aussie or Herbal Essence Shampoo or Conditioner, 10.1-13.5 oz, or Styler, 6-14 oz, $2.98 ea. Limit 1
Manufacturer Coupon -$1 off Herbal Essence or Aussie product, Proctor & Gamble $110 booklet
Manufacturer Coupon B1G1 Herbal Essenses Product SS 3/13 (possibly coming)
(buy 2, use both coupons, makes it FREE)

You can use both a manufacturer B1G1 coupon and a manufacturer $ off coupon together? Thanks for you help!!

      • Jeannie

        Yes, you can

      • Stacie

Yes but I would hand them the $1 coupon first. It works better that way.

      • Bamasaver

Yes, because you will be purchasing TWO products you can use one manufacturer coupon for each one.

      • Sarah

Maybe this will help explain why you can use both. The B1G1 coupon applies to the item you are getting FREE (you don't save anything on the other item, you are just required to buy it), that means you can use an additional coupon that applies only to the item you are BUYING. HTH

        • April

          Thanks. That helps a lot!!

    • Jo R

Where are the surged deals?? I am running out of my stash from last season! My 9 year old needs it! Anyone tried Allegra?

      • Jo R

Zyrtec not surged – I- pad spell check makes me crazy!

        • Diane

          That's hilarious!!

        • Elizabeth

Go to Sams. Get 350 of the 10mg generic Zyrtec for $15!

      • Julie

I love Allegra and am thrilled it went over the counter since I have developed a tolerance to Zyrtec and it doesn't work anymore. Just take Allegra in the morning, since a side effect (that effects very few, but effected me, was leg cramps at night). Taking it in the morning resolved that issue (I used to take it before bed). They sell a generic Zyrtec at Target, Wal-mart which is dramatically cheaper.

        • Jo R

Thanks- I think we will try this- I had him on generic claritin and he was not a happy guy. I use zyrtec occasionally as well- maybe we will both try allegra!.

    • The only Irish Spring coupon I find on that link is for Walgreens only. Will CVS take a walgreens coupon?

      • Raynesmw

If it says manufacturing coupon, most likely they will. I used a Food Lion catalina last week and they took it b/c it said manufacturing coupon at the top.

      • CCShad

If not, Walgreens has the same sale going on and it would be free there.

    • Janice

Just had a CVS survey show up in my email box. 10 questions, $5 EB. Good way to start the sale! :-)

    • Fallaya

      Purex 3-in-1 Sheets x 5
      Tena Pads x 1
      Theraflu

      Total due: $30.93

      Will use:
      $3 Purex 3-in-1 x 5
      $2.50 Tena
      $2 Theraflu
      8 ECB's

      Total due after coupons: $3.43

      Will receive $10.98 in ECB's ($9.99, .99)

      • Gillyp3864

Wouldn't you rather get 2. overage on every Q by using them at WM this week? It's their new store policy-they give you overage on a Q to apply to other items in your cart.
Buy the .99 cent travel size Purex 2pk, get $2. overage on every Q. SWEET!!

    • Mariapedrazam

Can you use more than one extra bucks receipt per transaction?

      • sealey5

You can use as many ECB's as you want in one transaction. Just try to make the best scenario though, so you get the most for the money you spend out of pocket.

        • Mariapedrazam

          Thanks!

    • Guest

cvs has buy two king size candy bars get one free…I have a buy one get a free hershey mini or drops…my questions is how can i make this coupon work with the buy 2 get one

      • CCShad

Not sure, but I would take those coupons over to Riteaid this week. They have the King size candy B1G1 which means they are all free with the B1G1 coupon!

        • Gamblesonsfarms

          Mine didn't work at riteaid!

          • Bryarsmom

I brought home over 30 candy bars/bags on Sunday-they all worked fine-cashier took off $1.59 on each BOGO.

        • Johne

You actually have to pay 30 cents for both bars at Rite Aid-they are B1G1 @ $1.59-the maximum value of the B1G1 Q is $1.29.

      • Sarah

you can use it along with the sale and only pay for one

    • janleigh

Why do you have to go Saturday night for scenario 1?

      • Rstonia

The $2 coupon expires on 3/12/11.

        • Rstonia

Sorry, the $2 coupon for the Dial lotion expires on 3/12/11.

      • Tangela

one of the coupons expire Saturday

      • Rlynn103

        the dial coupon expires Saturday

      • the lotion Q expires on Sat.

        • Gillyp3864

Surprised folks havea any of these left-they were all FREE at WM!

          • Jbush27

Some of us don't shop at WM.

    • idreamofj

What's a good place to donate health & beauty and also cleaning products to?

      • Nita Royal

I donate mine to the local battered women's shelter.

    • softballmom

Just wondering…will the Herbal Essences deal apply towards the Beauty Club deal (Spend $50 get $5 in ECBs)?

      • Abigail

yes, I got some the other day and it added it.

    • Tangela

Can (2) Q's that are B2G1 be used in conjunction with the B2G1 candy bar sale making them ALL free?

      • Sarah

You would have to buy 6 total to use both B2G1 coupons

    • Julie

Quick question. If I got the $5ECB for Allegra last week, can I get it again this week?

      • Sarah

yep, deals are new each week

    • tina

i have only shopped on sat night ONCE and it was a disaster, for anyone that shops on sat night do the ecbs print without a problem???? thanks!!!

      • Rudydoescakes

Before you check out ask if the new sale is ready in the system. The first time I tried on Sat. night it was a mess. The sale was suppose to start but hadn't yet. I always make sure now:)

      • atlanta coupon queen

Ive never had an issue with ECBS on sat night.

      • Mcleodsc

At the closest CVS you can get the sales items on Sat night but the ECBs will not print until the Sales officially start on Sun AM.

        • tjmj9801

Not really…The cashiers sometimes have to manually push through to make the ECB's print but you can't “go back” on Sunday and get your ECB's, which is what I'm taking your comment to mean.

        • Jbush27

I shop every Saturday and I've always gotten my ECB's right then and there.

      • Bryarsmom

Here in Acworth, GA Sat eve ECB's always print-you can combine 2 wks deals in your scenarios.

      • Burroughs85

I am in southern IL and it has always worked great. However, we are also blessed with WONDERFUL cashiers….I cannot say enough great things about them, and they always warn us to watch and if ECB do not print they will force them to print.

    • Stephanie

It pays to be nice! Oh, and by the way, I LOVE CVS! I stopped in there today and one of the Q's that printed from the scanner machine was $1 off a single pack of trident. So in my scenario I added the gum and combined it with the BOGO Trident Q. Anyways, the cashier couldn't get it to ring up correctly for some reason and it took 1.69 off instead of 1.29. Then he got it to scan in at 1.29 but couldn't get the 1.69 to void itself off. The manager came over and tried, but she couldn't get it either. She finally said, “You know what, it's your lucky day! I'm not messin' with it anymore, you can just have the extra off!” : ) I'm in there every week and she recognizes me, and I always make sure I'm very nice and polite. I think that helped. : )

    • Jamie

Why does it say there is an Aussie/Herbal Essences B1G1 “possibly coming” on 3/13? Why possible? I want that coupon! :)

      • LindaB

Not all regions of the country get the same coupons…hope we get one in my area!

      • biskit0323

I think she meant possibly because……Herbal Essences sent out a newsletter saying that the coupon would be in the paper last weekend. It wasn't there. Well I got an email from Herbal Essences yesterday and it was correcting the newsletter saying it will be in the paper on the 13th. And I surely hope my region gets it. :)

    • Cherish

Does anyone know if the CVS stores in Greenville, SC start their deals on Satuday?

      • Jillianpreston

I was in the CVS on Laurens Rd last Saturday and the tags had been changed already. It was around 1pm that we were there.

      • Sharon

The CVS stores in Greer have both sales going on Saturday evening. They may not be marked but the ring up corectly at the register

      • Paige

If you are not sure that the item is on sale, you can always take it to the red CVS box and scan your item to see what price it rings up. If the new sale has started, it will have that price.

    • millie

the polysporin coupon has a december 2010 exp date…;(

      • Amy J.

The one I printed out does also…..thanks for pointing it out!

    • gwhiz

anybody else having trouble printing the Tena coupon? Any suggestions? Thanks

      • Mollieirene

go to the top left corner of the page>>>click on FILE, then on the scroll down click on SAVE AS>>>>then save it as a DOCUMENT>>>>then open the document and PRINT> :)

        • gwhiz

          Thank you :)

      • Bryarsmom

Odd you had an issue-its a pdf-save it on your pc!

    • Deanna

I found CVS brand shampoo on clearance for $1.50 and used the recent “$1.00 of any CVS shampoo” from the CVS lottery machine to get shampoo for 50 cents.

      • Paige

My CVS had the Lice Shampoo on clearance for 1.74 and I was able to use that coupon to help a local school and got them for only 74 cents!

    • Oakesmother

if i throw the milk into a transaction with other items, but use my ecb, will it go threw? even though it says not to use it on milk, i have other items it could attach to.

      • Shelly

I will work without any problems. Your ECB will be applied to the other items.

    • Laurie

See iheartcvs and follow the coupon link for a $5 off $25 CVS coupon good at most Publix stores and expires Sunday 3/13/11.

    • Babs617

is anyone else bothered that the tena coupon was a pdf? i had no problems printing, i just hope it is legit?

      • This coupon is from Tena's website – so it is very legit.

        • Paige

Thank you that you always use coupons and link to coupons that you know are legit and not just what someone says is a great coupon. Thank you for not making me worry when I have a great coupon!

          • Babs617

            awesome, thank you!

        • Mamag2112

Thanks Jenny for all of your hard work! I will never ever shop the same again! :)

    • nail gal

so you can actually get sun sale on sat night. is that correct?

      • nail gal

oh and what time sat night can i go?

        • As long as your store is a 24-hour store, you should be able to get the sales by 6 PM on Saturday night.

          • Kelleyharold

I think you meant to say NOT a 24-hour store.

            • nail gal

thank you all so very much. i am new at this and this has been so very helpful.

          • Heather

I think she means as long as it is NOT a 24 hour store (per what is stated above within the ad) then they will give it to you Saturday night.

    • Mommyof2

I have went into CVS twice this week and both times got a $5 off $25 purchase from the coupon printer. So it might be something worth checking out at your own store.

      • Paige

All I keep getting is $1 off Kellogg's and the $1 off Dove chocolates.

        • Alison P

The $1 off cereal does get you the free single serving size so that is something good. Those are the only ones that I got too!

          • bev 37

they just caught on to that now it says 8.7 oz or larger

    • Cmmack

My CVS in VA BCH had peelies on the 12pack pepsi's. 1$/2packs. Bringing total down to $11 -3ecb=$8 or $2 a twelve pack.

      • SEM

Isn't the deal for Coke, not Pepsi?

    • Twinmomaaa

Is the Pampers deal a good deal for diapers?

      • happymom

If you have exisiting CVS bucks that you can use to pay for them (and bring the total down), then yes. But otherwise, not really. I try to save my CVS bucks to use when they run these diaper deals.

      • Burroughs85

I felt as though it was a great deal. However, I was also buying diapers for a baby gift, and since I went on Saturday I could combine both deals. Therefore, I got the free stroller and a box of diapers as a baby gift, and got one box for my own use.

    • Beth

So do the 24-hour stores start their sales at midnight on Sunday?

    • rcmom

The Anderson Free Clinic in Upstate SC lists adult diapers on their wish list on their web page. I am sure they would take the Tena items.

      • Shel_bel1985

That's a great idea. I plan on giving mind to my husband elderly grandmother.

    • Kelly

My husband & I are new to couponing. Can someone clarify for me…I see that there is an acorn by Crest Mouth Rinse is a stock up item. But then at the end it says limit 2. So can I only buy two?

      • SEM

The acorn signifies that it's a good deal, but I believe the limit is actually on the amount of ECBs you can get for the deal. So, you can buy two products and get two ECB deals print out. Correct me if I'm wrong!

      • TB

Yes. Only 2 per CVS Rewards card. I have a card and my husband has one also.

      • Geff

You can only get two ECB's. The good news is that you and your husband can both have your own card. So you would be able to get 4.

        • Couponj

Just make sure you keep the ECB straight. You can only use your own ECB for the card you are purchasing with.

        • Kelly

          Thanks!

      • Kim

The acorns mean it's a good deal…and worth adding to your stock pile. It's not good coupon manners to clear the shelf anyway. But it's a good buy.

    • Kevinstacy

Can't get the Maybelline mascara counpon unter my zip. Any suggestions? Thanks

    • Can't find the -$1/2 Quaker breakfast product PRINTABLE. What zip code are you using.

      • Alison P

There is a limk to one through Walmart that I got. It pulled up only the oatmeal coupon so I am not sure how I got there.

    • anj

What's the importance of shopping on Saturday night before the sale actually starts? I think I'm missing something. : P

      • couponsrfun

That's if you want to purchase the Dial Nutriskin lotion. The coupon for it expires saturday

        • emmycat

          I saw a new Nutriskin coupon listed in a coupon preview for the 3/13 Redplum . . . $1/1

      • Couponj

One of the coupons expires that night.

    • Mlaurie406

Help a newbie out!! I'm still fairly new to CVSing, but can someone tell me if my scenario will work?? STARTING OFF WITH $0 ECB :(

I have rain checks for the toothbrushes and mouthwash from last week, and I also have a $4 off $20, so……here's my plan. Is there a better way to do it???

      Trans 1:
      Buy 1 Tena pads ($9.99)
      1 Theriflu (.99)
      -$2.50 Tena coupon
      -$2 Theriflu coupon
      Spend $6.86
      Get $9.99 ECB

Trans 2: (Using rain checks from last week)
      Buy 2 Power toothbrushes ($12)
      2 Mouthwash ($6.58)
      2 Puffs ($3)
      – .50 off 2 Puffs
      – $6 (2 – $3 off toothbrush coupons)
      – $2 (2- $1 off mouthwash)
      -$9.99 ECB
      Total: $3.09
      Get $12.58 ECB

      Trans 1:
      Buy 1 Charmin ($10)
      1 Bounty ($13)
      -$4 off $20 coupon
      -.50 Bounty
      -.50 Charmin
      -$12.58 ECB
      Total: $5.42
      Get $10 ECB

Still spending a bit out OOP here, though. Is there a better way?? I don't have a lot a coupons to work with (no $1 off bounty/charmin/etc) and I don't want to get something we won't use (like moist wipes instead of puffs….we need those!). I am getting the pads, which we don't need, but I have a co-worked who would be happy to take them :)

      • Couponj

I think this is a good scenario… the hard thing is you never know if stuff will be in so sometimes you have to readjust at the store. Also, make sure you scan your CVS card at the kiosk because there may be additional coupons for free items.

Your math is a little off in the first transaction. Your total would be 6.48 and you would get 10.98 back in ECB

        • Mlaurie406

Thanks! And yes, I noticed my math was off after I posted (well, actually, my total is including tax, but I only did it for Trans 1, not the rest…whoops!). Yay for forgetting to add the extra .99 ECB though! Will definitely scan at the kiosk too, thanks!

    • Kcreviews

My CVS IS a 24-hour store and they DO start the sale early, at 6pm on Sat. I've done it before. Whoever wants to try this should call their local CVS and find out! :)

    • Moms-coupons

I missed the last one, away from my computer for a couple days, and since then I've not gotten any other survey offer or any $/$$ offers either :( I wonder what I can do to make CVS happy and send me those emails again…

    • Moms-coupons

      Honest Tea coupons…
The $1/2 shows an expiration of 2/1/2011
The 50cents/1 (register for it) Q shows no more prints available.

      • I didn't notice that… thanks for pointing it out… now I have to redo my transactions. ARGHHH!

    • Maryljames31

Im so excited about the sales this week! I love free stuff!

    • Julieinnc

I just got a $10 off $50 purchase from the red box. I only have $2 ECB going into this week. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my OOP low? While I'm grateful for this coupon, sometimes it just makes planning senerios even harder!

      • Freemn4

If you shop at Publix and they accept CVS coupons (mine in Summerville, SC does) then it would be a great coupon to use there.

    • Jenn Marie Earle

ok I am new to shopping at the drug stores. I am wondering about these different transactions. How do you go about them, do you leave the store and come back or do you split everything up right there and tell the lady you are doing 3 different transactions?

      • Lindseywilliams84

you just split it up and do 3 separate transactions–no need to leave the store!

      • Marinka115

Tell the cashier your doing multiple transactions but if there's a line forming behind you it's always polite to go let people go ahead of you. :) I call it coupon etiquette.

      • Howardcs

At the CVS in Lake City, Fl they refuse to let you do multiple transactions. Last week the cashier told me that it was now a district policy that you must use your ECB's on a different day than when you earned them!

    • Julieinnc

so, maybe this has been asked before, but for the items that state: “buy $25 worth of xzy products, get $10 back”…do you not have to buy the items in the same transaction? In the example Jenny did above, she split the toilet paper/paper towel deal up and still ended up with the $10 ECB in the end. Thanks!

      • biskit0323

No, they do not have to be bought in one transaction. At the bottom of the receipt, it will state how much you still need to buy for the offer.

      • DebTN

They don't even have to be bought in the same day – just in the same week. Your card keeps up with it and it will say at the bottom of your receipt if you still need to purchase x amount in order to get the ECBs.

      • MeganW

It will have your total at the bottom of the receipt if you do separate transactions. However, you may want to check your receipts b/c I've had mutiple occasions when my ECBS didn't print even though I had bought the $ amt required. I've had cashiers explain to me that because I used coupons on the items, it didn't accrue toward the total for that deal as it should. They had to override the system so that I could get the ECBs. Hopefull you won't have the same problem.

    • Jamie

Can you ever use Target coupons at CVS? I saw a $1 off Bounty Paper Towels but I wasn't sure…

      • karen

        no competitors :)

    • Kenzbug

I need an expert opinion please. If I buy a Theraflu for .99 and Kraft Miracle Whip for $2.50 which will total about $3.50. I want to use the $2 Theraflu coupon and a $1 Miracle Whip coupon. I guess I want the overage to go towards the mayo which would make my total only .50 for both items. Is that going to work? I don't know how to work the $2 coupon because it gives overages. Somebody please help? Thanks. (BTW, is it the 24 hr. stores that will start Sunday sales on Saturdays?)

      • Lonestar9

That's not the way it works that i've ever seen….:P…The overage is just lost, not applied to another product..

        • Kenzbug

Thank you for helping me with that. I was hoping to get some really cheap mayo. ;-)

        • Marinka115

I've never had overage “lost” when I use a coupon. It's applied to the entire total whether that specific item was less in value or not. Maybe your stores have strict policies and the cashiers are required to adjust coupons?

        • Shanna79

I've never lost an overage either….CVS has always applied the extra to other items I've purchased.

      • Marinka115

If you purchase both in one transaction, the overage will apply to the mayo. Also, most 24 hr stores start on Sundays but I did read somewhere that there are a few that have started to change that. Check with your local stores.

    • Donna Flint1950

      will CVS take Walgreens
      cpns?

      • Marinka115

No, cvs does not take competitor coupons

    • need confirmation please. We can use the $3/2 and the $2/1Theraflu coupons for a trial size product? The coupon does state that it is good for any Theraflu product but I'm new to this and it just doesn't sound right.

      • Marinka115

Some coupons say “excludes trial size”. If it does not say that on your coupon then yes you can technically use it. But if you get a cashier that is really picky, they may not allow the overage. Depends on your store and management.

    • Pat

I just needed a coupon fix today and saw, on Southern Savers, that if you by charmin 16 pk and bounty12pk sizes you get $10 in ecb at cvs. So i went to the register with my stuff and $8 in assorted coupons checked out and was expecting my $10 ecb to be on the receipt, it wasn't. I was talking to my husband and said I must have done somethng wrong, the cashier overheard my conversation and when I showed her the deal on southern savers….she gave me my $10 ECB! think i love CVS! (and Souther Savers)

      • KA

the ad doesnt start until sunday, saturday if your store is not 24 hours. thats why it didnt work!

      • Gayle

$10 ECB wyb $25.00. The paper towels @ $13.00 and the Charmin @ $10.00 total $23.00 not quite the $25.00 needed for the ECB so heads up for the rest of us and grab the wipes for $2.50 as we may not get a cashier as nice as the one Pat got.

        • Gamblesonsfarms

Yes, If you look at Jenny's other transaction #2, she purchased the charmin wipes which made her cumulative total above the $25. The register keeps a running total at CVS to know when you hit the $25.

    • Amber

So if CVS doesn't take competitors' coupons, why are other stores' coupons listed for some items?

And I'm going to say it again, because it can't be said enough…thanks so much for this site, Jenny!

      • karen

Sometimes she listed coupons that came on other booklets but are actually manufacters coupons.. Do not confuse, if it has a “m” next to it is mfr and if it has a “s” is store… a cvs coupon :)

    • Amber

So if CVS doesn't take competitors' coupons, why are other stores' coupons listed for some items?

And I'm going to say it again, because it can't be said enough…thanks so much for this site, Jenny!

    • Amcronan

      Will ECB give “change”?

For example – if I have $10 ECB and just buy something for $4, will I get a receipt for the other $6, or is that $6 lost?

      • Kandrealh

No you will not get change. Buy something else in the $6 price range that will issue ECBs.

    • Kandrealh

FYI, I found $1.50/12-pk Diet Coke coupons at my CVS tonight! The coupons were on a tear pad and found on top of the Coke display near the registers at my store! Will make for a nice savings this coming week!

    • Amber

Last post from me tonight, I promise! (well, maybe ;) )

I'm getting my list together for this sale. Can someone tell me if these transactions look good? I don't know if there's any rhyme or reason to the strategy of putting the lists together except try to break as even as possible with $ and ecb each time.

Middle column is the price (after coupon) and third column is ecb.

      Transaction 1
      Theraflu -1.01 .99 ECB
      Dial Nutriskin 2.99 3.00 ECB
      Crest Rinse 2.49 2.50 ECB
      Crest paste 2.49 2.50 ECB
      Gain – .03

      TOTAL 6.93 8.99 ECB

      Transaction 2
      Tena Pads 7.49 9.99 ECB
      Clean/Clear .99
      Dial 2.99 3.00 ECB
      Ragu (2) 3.32

      TOTAL 14.79 – 8.99 = 5.80 12.99 ECB

      Transaction 3
      Enfamil + 3 more $ 25.00 10 ECB
      TOTAL 25 – 12.99 = 12.01

TOTAL OOP = 24.74 w/ 10 ECB for next time

    • Araepatterson17

Okay so my mom was trying to help and printed the irish spring cp. and the printer messed up so we had to cancel the prints. Therefore we lost the irsih spring cp. is there anything I can do to get another? I guess when she printed she did two and that was the limit.
      thanks!

      • Nancy

What zip code did you use to print the q? If you have more than one computer in your house you might be able to hook your printer to the other computer and print again, that way it is a different IP address.

    • Babydoll 1999

I can't find the Irish Spring Q. What zip code can I use? Thanks.

      • Holly

    • Nocurtain

does CVS allow coupon overages? if theraflu is .99 and I have a $2 off coupon, will I make $1?

      • Ctrychick07

no, they will only take up to the $1. the system doesn't allow it.

        • Musiclady0110

My local cvs DOES allow the coupon overage to go on other purchases :)

      • KA

it marked down my $2 coupon to .99, but the $3/2 went through fine on a different transaction when i bought 2.

    • jerry

Ive gathered 4 $3/2 theraflu coupons. I know the 99cent ECB will only print once, since it is a limit 1. But if I keep getting $3 off 2, will the overage be applied to the cost of everything else? ( Like how the new walmart coupon policy is)

      • KA

i bought 2 tonight and used a $3/2, and it worked fine. i thought they may have to mark it down to $2 but they didnt, and got the .99 ECB

    • Nancy

What zip code are you using for the Irish Spring deodorant? I can't find it…

      • Holly

        37129

        • Vic

Please tell me HOW to get the Irish Spring coupon, Thanks

    • Griffingirl69

when I went to cvs last wk the girl who works there told me that they actually have the sale items marked down by 12 on sat afternoon for the next wks sales…
Does it make a difference when you do the separate transactions rather than get them all at one time on the same order?

      • DebTN

It will make a difference in how much you pay out of pocket. People who do the separate transactions are rolling ECB's – using ECB's from the first transaction to pay for the second transaction. Some people (like me) just lump everything together in one big transaction. I pay more out of pocket that day, but then leave with lots of ECB's for the next time. The end result is the same, just a different process. I guess I'm being mentally lazy – you really have to plan ahead to be able to roll ECB's and then if you get to the store and they're out of something you want you have to adjust your plan. It's really just personal preference I guess. Make sense?

        • Griffingirl69

makes sense~thanks…I guess I just do lk u do. I always have a lot of ecb saved up, so I use them instead of doing individual transactions. I guess if the end result is the same it doesn't really matter right?

          • DebTN

If you're okay with more out of pocket that day (as I am) then the only drawback, if you want to call it that, is keeping track so you don't let any ECB's expire.

    • Reymannkids

Does anyone know a zip code for the irish spring coupon? Thanks.

    • momtonate

Can you go on another day to purchase a limited item/ECB deal or do I need another CVS card to purchase multiples?

      • Tammy

Nope , you cant go another day . The prodcut that you are buying will have a limit per card/account. So you would need to sign up for another card to maximize your deals if you reach the limit on your orginal card. <<hth>></hth>

    • Tjvsmom

Does anyone have any info about the Recycle Bank Reward membership or is anyone a member it??
      Thanks!

      • CCShad

Under Jenny's Latest Articles, go back a page to the post about McDonald's free salad. She has the link to recyce bank and tells how to earn some points. I used the McDonald's coupon today and got a free chicken caesar salad!

    • Danielle

Did anyone else get the $10 off $50 on Wednesday? My daughter had to go to the doctor, so I scanned my card when I went to get the prescription. I don't usually get it up to $50, but I think I can this week!

      • kpswagger

Yes! And if you do the P&G offer along with tena pads, theraflu, crest toothpaste, irish deodorant, and something else you should end up with a pretty sweet deal.

    • Mollieirene

      Okay< I must vent…….
I just got back from CVS> Everything was awesome.
I got the TENA pads, the THERAFLU, the CREST TOOTHPASTE and MOUTH WASH, the DIAL LOTION, and got a FREE PEPSI with the coupon CVS emailed me.
After my coupons and $4.00 in ECB from last time…..My total was $12.58 out of pocket. I got back $24.00 in ECB!

I was in such an awesome mood! I get home and my huband says that all I'm accomplishing is trading real money for “play money” a la ECB.
I told him that what i did was make $12.58 turn into $24.00.
He wanted to know what we needed with Tena pads. I told him we could donate them…….
He just doesn't get it and he really peed on my awesome coupon buzz. :(

      • Bianca

My husband used to say the same thing about my ECB being play money… take him with you and let him pick an item or two. When he sees you pay nothing, he'll appreciate your shopping a little more :)

        • Mollieirene

          thanks :)

        • Tangela

I call it Monopoly $. Who cares if you get free stuff with it! : )

          • Tangela

let me refrase that….who cares what it's called if you can purchase free stuff with it!

      • nackle78

my husband used to say the same thing to me about couponing in general. He thinks all I buy are things we don't need. He says, “How many fruit snacks do we really need?” He doesn't realize in the long run by buying things we don't need we are actually able to afford the things we do. Never before have we been able to afford a laptop, flat screen HD tv, Xbox 360 than we have in this last year since I've been couponing. Hopefully your husband will appreciate it in the long run once he sees the amazing things you are able to afford because of couponing!

      • couponmonster

Be careful with the crest mouthwash! I started using the prohealth line and brown spots and staining started to appear on and in between my teeth! Not until after this happened I read the “warning” on the bottle stating that this may happen. It suggested frequent brushing and overall good oral health would remedy the situation…I brush 2x day, see the dentist 2x year, and still managed to ge discoloration. I googled the product and found numerous complaints about this product…specifically on amazon!! So, just keep an eye on it!!

        • Mollieirene

Goodness, thanks for the info on the Crest mouth wash. What a terrible thing. I'm afraid to use the stuff now. Wonder why they haven't taken the stuff off the market?

          • couponmonster

I wondered the same…but, I think it's because they've put a “warning” on the bottle and maybe this doesn't happen to everyone and it's not necessarily a health risk. I guess it's like alcohol and cigarettes, it may cause health problems, but as long as the warning is on the bottle/carton they've given consumers fair “warning”…I'm not suggesting cigarettes or alcohol should be taken off the market, but just using it as an example.

      • angela

My husband's eyes glaze over when I start talking about my couponing coups. But! He is very appreciative, because when you break down our weekly savings and divide by the hours I work to get those savings, I actually make more money by the hour than he does! And he makes good money! Try that with your husband. ;) And mega thanks to Jenny!

      • Nita Royal

Well, just hand him the Tena pads so he can pee without ruining your buzz ;-)

I'm lucky, my hubby has really gotten in to this. Though he doesn't do the actual work, he chats up the clerks, and does my Checkpoints scanning, earning enough points for a $2 CVS gift card 3-4 times a week!

        • Dianna

what is Checkpoints scanning? I need to learn how to get a CVS gift card free!

          • Nita Royal

It's a free app for smartphones. You get points for “checking in” to locations (even when you're just driving by), and for scanning specific items in the store. For each item scanned you get a free spin on a slot machine game that also can generate extra points.

They do have a variety of software problems, so it works great some days, lousy on others. But for every 600 point, I get the CVS card. Other rewards are also available.

      • Aidankelli

My husband use to be like that also, I just let him say his piece. But eventually he got on board and helps me at the store, prints coupons for me and watches the blogs. Just keep going he'll get it one day, especially when he see's the household budget shink.

      • Hhnp08

Tell him you bought the pads for him…LOL :)

    • Mollieirene

Anyone interested in the PUREX……If you go to K-mart through today….buy 13 of the small Purex bottles on sale @ 2/$5.00 and use 13, one dollar off coupons…from RP 2/20……you will get back a catalin coupon for 10 dollars. Hence, when you break it down…..you get the detergent for 98 cents each…..this is in the event CVS runs out or if you might rather have the Catalina coupon from K-mart. Happy Shopping!

Nutriskin Lotion! Noticed that many people are trying to shop early for the Nutriskin lotion. I check a coupon “preview” site and it looks like there will be a new Nutriskin coupon in the 3/13 Redplum insert. $1/1 (exp 4?30)
Visit wholecouponinserts.com. They sell the inserts and have preview lists . . .

    • DTROLEN

the $1 off irish spring has (redeem at walgreens) under it… is that just a suggestionor what. jenny has it listed to use on this cvs item this week ..?

      • Nancy

Where did you find it? I can't even find the q

        • biskit0323

My printable came from coupons . com and I clicked personal care on the left side and found it that way. There is also a $1/1 in the 3/13 SS. I get mine a day early. HTH!

      • biskit0323

Redeem at Walgreens means it's a suggestion. If it meant only at Walgreens, it would say Redeem only at Walgreens. HTH!

        • Nita Royal

I'm probably just dense, but definitely curious. . . .what does HTH mean? I've seen it several times, but am clueless. Thanks

          • LD

            Hope that helps.

            • Nita Royal

              thanks – it did! ;-)

          • Tangela

            Hope That Helps : )

          • thriftymotherof3

            Hope that helps.

      • Cadgurl1

I think it's just a suggestion b/c it says manufacturer coupon at the top and the bar code starts with a 5. I used mine today at CVS and it went through with no problems. I have to admit I was a little nervous about using it and half expected it to beep at me but all went well …

        • Mhaubrey

My CVS wouldn't take the irish spring coupon that said Walgreens, even though it said Manufacturer Coupons. I didn't feel like arguing ( 3 kids in tow ), so I politely said “that's okay,” Still bummed me out b/c she didn't even try to scan it. Also, she wouldn't take the $2 off theraflu because it only cost $.99. So she had me…again. Even more bummed about that! Luckily I had 10 ECBS from last week. Anyone else's $2 theraflu being refused??

          • atlanta coupon queen

Where is the Theraflu – I couldn't find it in my store.

            • msivory20

My cashier said that there wouldn't be any until the truck comes in on Monday even though the ad starts on Sunday, which totally makes no sense to me. You would think that corporate would ensure the products for each ad are actually IN the store! :)

            • Mhaubrey

in my store ( charleston SC) it was on an endcap on one of those vertical clip hangers. I coulnd't find it at first so a helpful clerk showed me where it was. Good luck!

          • Matthewsja

The clerk couldn't take the $2.00 (theraflu) coupon off of a $.99 theraflu product because the total of the coupon exceeds the total of the product. The clerk could get fired if she would of taken it.

            • Mhaubrey

Yes, I know that it exceeded the value of the product. I wasn't looking for overage, but the computer would probably have adjusted the price of the coupon to match that of the product. I certainly don't want anyone to get fired over a $.99 theraflu!!

          • Lil Bit2005

i did something like this with the $1 coupon for pledge that says redeemable at dollar general but it was a manufacturers coupon, she even scanned it and it went through and then she said that she had to take it off because it couldnt be used at cvs and only at dollar general, i was too tired to argue so i just let it go :(

          • thriftymotherof3

Not refused, just adjusted, which was fine because it was still free. I found mine at the front of the store on a clip on a round display which is where much of the sale stuff was found that I did not find on the shelves.

    • Poole_st

I may be wrong but if transaction #4 doesn't add up to $25 then you wont get the $10 ECB.

      • Tangela

The Charmin Freshmates in Trans. #2 adds to the $25 required to get the $10 ECB.

        • Poole_st

Sorry I thought it had to be in the same transaction. But thanks for pointing that out.

    • Susan

She purchased the Charmin freshmates in transaction #2. That combine with #4 will be enough to get $25.00. It doesn't have to be in the same transaction. Your CVS card will store the info. As long as you buy it within the week of the sale you will get your ECB's.

    • Justine

I have just started shopping at cvs, does tomorrow's sale prices actually start tonight?

      • Nita Royal

In most stores, they will start at 6PM, but there seem to be variances around getting ECB's. If it's the sale price only that you're interested in, you can scan a couple of items at the red machine, just to test and be sure.

    • Carrie

a little bummed here….I went to CVS tonight with my 14 month old on the verge of meltdown…I asked as I walked in if next weeks deals start tonight. The very nice clerk told me “Yes, at 6 pm” it was 5:45. No problem it'll take me that long to find my stuff. I could only find 3 items but figured “Oh well” it's a start. I check out and step aside and I didn't get my ECB's. I wait until she helps next customer and then get back in line. She apologized and manually give me the ECB's (as I feed the baby gummy worms to delay the melt down). As I'm driving home I'm doing the math and it doesn't add up. Sure enough I got charged last weeks prices so now I have to go back AGAIN for the $7 refund (hopefully not too much of a hassle)….I can't say I'll try getting the deals on a Saturday again.

      • Holly L.

Bless you heart! I know exactly how it feels when you have your shopping trip all planned out and you check out hoping that all goes well and then, it doesn't. Then, you have to wait, and your children/child is frustrated and ready to go, but you HAVE to get your order right. The whole point in doing all this to to save money! It's hard sometimes, but I guess, like with everything else, you take the good with the bad! Some shopping trips are a breeze and others, you can't wait to leave the store–ONLY to have to return because of another mistake!! I hope your next trip to CVS is a breeze! I love my CVS. They always make the shopping/checkout experience easy and if I do have a problem, they are happy to help me! :-)

        • Carrie

Thank you for the sweet comments!

My intent on writing that blurb was to say that in the future I will NOT be shopping CVS the night before the sale starts. I thought it would be a perfect time TO shop but it was actually quite the opposite since
-They were starting to stock for the promo items and most of the items I wanted weren't available
-The registers didn't reflect the prices yet
          -The ECBS didn't print.
-On Saturday evenings the CVS in my town only has one clerk working so it's not conducive for errors

It looks like some others have had similar situations and I appreciate them sharing of them as it solidifies my decision to shop as I normailly would on Sundays (while the kids are napping at home in the care of daddy) :)

      • Christy

I was going to say – don't worry hun, we've all been there- but instead I will say Dont worry hun- 99.99% of us have all been there! It is hard to keep an eye on the register with a little guy who is ready to GO- I am sure they will adjust the price for you. Especially if you are a regular- my CVS is wonderful! Good luck!

    • Mel

I have the theraflu $3 off 2. Will the register take off the $1.98 I spend? How will this work?

      • it took off $3 for me :)

      • thriftymotherof3

my cashier adjusted the coupon so there was no overage.

    • Tina

Moral of the story: don't go shopping with your kid, specially if they are bratty.

    • Tina

CVS is gay. They'll only take off the $1.98 even though they are going to be reimbursed the $3.

    • EVERYONE check ur receipts, The coke deal is not ringing up correctly. and ECBs are not printing

    • Mine took off $3

    • couponmonster

please be cognizant of others' situations and feels; maybe some have no choice but to bring their children along couponing. We're all here to help one another and give good advice, not criticize. Happy couponing!

      • Wvarner2000

First she said CVS was gay and then she called this nice ladies kid a brat. She was probably a bratty kid too who grew up to be a bratty adult. I hope she goes someone else to insult people and not here.

    • steph

It really is a shame that someone would have the nerve to post that message on here. It is that kind of negativity that is ruining sites like this one. This is a coupon website, not a site for you to berate someone that has to shop with their children with them. I hope you are in line behind me next time, with all of my children, and they are being “bratty” and making your life miserable.

    • tnashis11

Tonight my non-24-hour CVS told me that there was a corporate directive sent out this week that no weekly sales are to be updated until after midnight Saturday. So, for example, my CVS now starts the sale 7PM on Sunday when they open instead of 6PM Saturday. Apparently they were having too many stores putting up the sales earlier and earlier and corporate has now stopped the practice completely. This may be why everyone is having so much trouble with the sales tonight? Huge thanks to my CVS for recognizing me as a couponer and questioning if I really wanted to pay full price for these things tonight.

      • tnashis11

Sorry, I meant to say that the sale starts 7AM Sunday when they open.

        • Danielle

I'm in Ringgold, GA and I got all my deals to ring up right at 4 pm. Does it just depend on the manager?

      • Amber

I was able to get the sale prices. tonight.

The girl who worked there suggested I scan one of the items at the card scanner to make sure the new price was in effect.

      • Mrmrjbenauto

Same here-a helpful clerk saw the items in my cart and told me that corporate had changed the practice and the ECBs are not printing out until after 11pm Saturday evening. I scanned one of the items and he was correct, it was not ringing up at the new price back. This store closes at 10 so I put back all the items and will return tomorrow.
I went to a CVS store that closes at midnight and asked the clerk there and was told there prices were already in effect. It looks like this may be one of those YMMV situations and to be sure scan the item and or ask the clerk before trying the transactions on a Saturday night.

      • Kandice Ledford

So they open at 7 (AM) Sunday and they'll print, yes? I'm confused by all the PMs.

      • thriftymotherof3

Aha, I guess that explains why at 2 pm on Saturday none of my things rang up sale price or gave ECBS. They had to do it all manually (huge hassle) and they did not know about this corporate thing yet. So I did get all the sales and ECB's. I wonder if I can go back today and get it again because it was not recognized on my card??

    • Lunitari601

Thank you to the woman at CVS who told me about the little leaf thing you scan and get $1 back. I had no idea it even existed! Also thank you for the free hair dye. it was amazingly wonderful of you!!! I am new to couponing and I find it so wonderful how thoughtful and kind people can be!

      • couponmonster

what's the leaf thing? I don't know about that either.

        • Afy1229

I assume she's referring to the green bag tag. They are 99 cents and you hang it off of a reusable bag. Bring the bag in and have the tag scanned with every time you check out (only once a day though). After 4 transactions, you get 1 ECB.

          • couponmonster

thank you!! I did not know about that..awesome!!

        • Sarah

It is a green bag tag, you attach it to a reusable bag (any, doesn't have to be CVS) and use that instead of plastic. They scan the tag every visit, and for every 4 times it is scanned you get 1 ECB back. It is awesome!

          • couponmonster

            sweet!! thanks everyone!!

    • Kmholton

This may be a stupid question but for the Crest deal, it says limit 2. Does that mean only 2 total Crest items or could I do 2 of each of the mouthwash, toothpaste and floss? TIA!

      • Danielle

You can get 2 of which ever you want. I bought one toothpaste and one mouthwash, but I only had a coupon for one.

        • couponmonster

make sure you monitor you teeth…i bought one of the pro health rinses and it discolored my teeth! I brush 2x day and go the the dentist 2x year…so, I think I have pretty good oral health. Anyway, there is a warning label on the bottle as well as many complaints with this product…just google it or go to amazon and see all of the reviews about brown spots or discoloration of the teeth!! This happened to me, but maybe it dosesn't happen to all…just be careful

          • ireneY

My dental hygienest said the Pro Health toothpaste produced the worst results during cleanings of all her clients.

            • Kennemere

We just finished a tube of ProHealth because it was free a while back. We hated it and will never buy it again.

            • ThePriest

Ditto. We switched to Listerine Total Care with no troubles. I haven't noticed trouble with the Crest Pro-Health toothpastes, just the rinses.

    • Tammygideons

that was not very nice. children are a blessing..

    • Glosmommy

$1/2 Honest Tea product, 16 fl oz printable

      This coupon expired 2-1-11

    • yugigi

went to CVS tonight and I did this week and sunday deal together. I have a $5/$25, so I did one transaction. I bought 2 7up, 2 milk, 1 Clairol dye hair, 1 Dial Nutriskin Lotion, 2 Gain Dish, 1 Schick Hydro 5 refill, and 1 Easter candy(my husband wanted it so I got it for thank you gift for going cvs with me. The total after $5 off, coupons and ECB from 2 weeks ago is 6.63.

    • di

very disappointed i used my thera flu coupon tonight. and would not give me the whole coupon price i had 2.00 coupon would only use 1.00 of it. this is 1st time ever they done that……..

      • Tdouglas26

mine did that too on my Gain dish coupon. it was worth $1 and the Gain was only .97. he said he couldn't do overage, so he had to adjust the coupon down.

        • Smorris2005

they did that to me too and it really irks me. when they mail it in, they get the full $1 back plus like 8 cents for handling. it still ended up free, but it is still irritating.

          • Klsmith65

Same thing happened to me today.

    • Kandice Ledford

I have my attack plan mapped out. I have a $104 total – $42EB – $40 coupons scattered over 3 transactions so I'll end up spending around 10-15 best I can figure. I've been looking forward to Sunday since the sale went up Thurs. LOL

      • Burroughs85

Oh wow! That is amazing! If you don't mind me asking, what items are you getting through all of this?

      • Christine

Wow! you are impressive :) I just started this “couponing” yesterday and I feel totally overwhelmed. I really need to get the hang of it – my husband is out of work and we are living on my income. I was told I could find a deal to get my local newspaper from this website at a huge discount. I heard many people get 6 or more papers. I cant find it – is that true? I live in Tampa, Florida

        • Madbeachin1

          Hey Christine-
I'm in Seminole, FL. Just over the Howard Franklin. I'm a pretty big couponer and have been doing so for about 2 years so. I get 6 papers each Sunday. Let me know if you need help!

        • Priscilla

Hi Christine, I'm in FL too but in Jacksonville. I love Southern Savers (Jenny is awesome and I LOVE her printable checklists) but I also follow a few other coupon blogs, including one in the Tampa area called www(dot)addictedtosaving(dot)com. It might be helpful for your stores in the Tampa area that are not included on this blog, and you could try emailing that blog writer for any local newspaper deals she may know of. My best tip is to start small and try more each week, and you'll be saving a ton of money in no time. Start with Publix because it's not as confusing at CVS/Walgreens for starting out and you can save a TON there with couponing and their BOGO deals. I started couponing in October of last year and have already cut our grocery bill in half and I even get extra things to donate to food pantries and other charities. Good luck and remember to start small so you don't overwhelm yourself!!!

    • Heather

Just got back from CVS. They did not have the Dial lotion or Theraflu in stock. I got 1 Charmin toilet paper, 2 Charmin wipes, 1 Irish Spring deodorant, 2 Herbal Essences, and 1 Duracell battery for $1.13 and saved $50!!

      • Burroughs85

Oh wow! How did you do that?!?!

      • Jacketfan24

My CVS didn't have the Dial lotion, the Theraflu, the Irish Spring deoderant, or the Crest toothpaste in stock either, but I got two Aussie mouses (sp?), 3 Purex sheets, 1 Tena pads, 1 Gain, 1 Charmin, 1 Bounty, and 1 Charmin wipes and paid only $7 and saved $82.00!! Best trip ever! I still have $10 in ECB too. Will try back tomorrow for the lotion; he went and asked the manager who said it should come in then.

        • happilysavingmoney

My store had no Irish Spring Deo. either so I got the bodywas, better for my family anyhow, since we don't need any deo. no Purex sheets, said that warehouse was even out, so I got a raincheck, did get the dial lotion.

          • Jacketfan24

If you are anywhere near Greenville, there is a CVS in Greer near Fuddruckers that had a whole display of the Purex…of course, it could be gone by now! I ended up getting the bodywash, too…also found the Crest as this CVS since it was out at the one I went to originally. The only thing I had to get a raincheck on was the Dial lotion.

    • Burroughs85

So….I'm still somewhat new at this, and wondering how this deal sounds to those of you who are more experienced. I went Saturday night and combined both weeks, in short I got the following items:
2 Theraflu, Revlon nail color, Tena product, Irish Springs bodywash, Dial lotion, 2 Scrubbing Bubbles, Shout, Pledge, 1 box of Pampers, 2 Gerber snacks, Charmin, Bounty, 2 Puffs, 1 box Huggies, baby wash, Desitin, free umbrella stroller, and Clean & Clear bodywash (and my husband of course had to get a soda and candy….lol)
for a grand total of $44.88 out of pocket.
Unfortunately, I have no ECB remaining for next week, but I felt it was a pretty good deal anyway since 1 box diapers and stroller will be a baby gift.
Please let me know what you all think! TIA!

    • Tolly

I am new to all of this but what does it mean when you say Transaction #1 on Saturday…..doesnt the ad/sales start on Sunday? And can you please define transaction as in the above there were 4 different transaction.

      • Burroughs85

Stores that are not open 24 hours actually start their sales on Saturday, which gives you deals from previous and new week. Transactions are like checking out or purchases so to speak. I usually gather all my items them put them into piles and check out several times, but not actually leaving store. I just allow others to go ahead of me if I have several and they have only a few items!

        • Tolly

I got it thanks so much for explaining that to me! :)

          • Burroughs85

No problem! I am still pretty new to this….So I understand the confusion of trying to figure it out….still not sure if I am maximizing my savings…..see my post below trying to figure out if I really did as well as I thought. ha ha.

            • Mariah

I tried to do this last night (buy the lotion using the coupon that was going to expire last night), and our manager told me he'd be happy to let me have the sale price, BUT he couldn't/wouldn't let me have the ECBs. UGH.

          • tina

the idea of the different transactions is to spend as little out of pocket as possible. so you use the ecb's from one to pay for another!

    • Tina

Nope. I have two children. They are 6 and 2. I have taught them to be well behaved, specially when we go out. I've also taught them to be respectful of others. I will absolutely NEVER allow them to throw temper tantrums or have “meltdowns”. In my opinion, it would help them to grow up as awesome adults, and it is also considerate of others.
Ha, thanks for whoever marked my messages. The truth hurts, doesn't it?

    • Chandrda

There is a $1/1 Irish Spring deodorant in the 3/13 (today's) SS.

    • Tdouglas26

I am a little bit miffed at my CVS. for the past two trips, I have run into issues. Last week, I bought two items. I had a Bogo coupon for one, and a -$1 for the other. they would not let me use the -1 since I wasn't “paying” for the second item. I argued with them for a minute, and finally I just had them remove the item.
Then, yesterday, I had a manufacturer's coupon, but it had Walgreens printed on it. they would not accept it, even though it was a manufacturer's coupon. then he just sort of rolled his eyes when I pulled out my coupons and ECB's. He acted like I was robbing them blind. this was just a worker, not the manager. the manager has always been really nice. I think I am going to try to go on a different day when he isn't there, or just try a different CVS altogether.

      • millie

i have a cashier at my rite aid that, without fail, gives me a problem every time. so i always check the parking lot for her car and go at another time. it is frustrating, maybe it's a power trip, i don't know, we are all just doing the est we can.

        • Priscilla

Haha, I love that you know which car is hers! That's awesome and hilarious at the same time!

    • Artatwork2

Wow- you have figured out how to keep a child from having a meltdown by not allowing it- what are you doing couponing?? You should be selling that magic mojo to the world and making millions! All of us with normal children would love to buy a couple of bottles- of course, we would only buy it if we had a coupn and got a few ECB to sweeten the deal…. but if it worked, I might even pay full price later.

    • Mommy2Two

I HAD to grab diapers on my way home last night and didnt have any of my coupons with me, I went into CVS and did the diaper deal with a big box and a couple packs of wipes to make it over 25$ to get my 10 back. Can I go back in later this week and take my receipt and the coupons I have for that stuff???? I know it would only be a few dollars but now that Im a “coupon-er,” I hate to buy diapers without using coupons!! Thanks!

      • happilysavingmoney

I did this a few weeks ago bought some items and forgot to give the cashier one of my coupons, she was so nice and in my next transaction she added the coupon, she said that my card knew that I bought the item and would take the coupon without beeping and it did. CVS employees are the best! This may work if you explain your situation and make another purchse, worth a try anyhow. HTH.

      • msivory20

I've had something similar happen, forgot my q for toothpaste so the sweet cashier just gave me the cash for it :)

    • Amy J.

For those with the CVS free candy or individual soda coupon, the king size Reeses pb cups are B2G1 this week, paired with the B1G1 manuf Q and your cvs free coupon, makes all 3 candy bars free :-)

      • Amy J.

NEVER MIND……geez, i just realized i committed coupon fraud….ugh! the manufacturer Q is actually for buy one reeses king size bar, get a free reeses minis king size…….my bad…..i was in such a hurry ready to check out that i didn't read the entire coupon!
been couponing for little over a year now and that's the first time i've done that…..dear Lord…..

        • rebekah

I used this coupon last week and got a regular pack of Reeses cups for .69 cents and my cashier still took off the entire $2.00 which really helped my total! :)

        • Sarah

I think most of us have done something like that early on in our couponing journey. I think the important thing is that you feel bad about it because you ARE trying to coupon with integrity. Don't beat yourself up…

        • Jbush27

It has happened to all of us, don't beat yourself up about it.

      • Just a tip that this cp is NOT just for the items pictured! I asked one CVS employee when I walked in yesterday if it was for any candy/soda and they said no just the items pictured, asked another and they did not know but were willing to try it on another product for me and see. I needed a $1.40 more in Easter candy to get the $3 ECBs, so I purchased Lifesaver jellybeans ($2), cashier scanned cp and it took $2 off (max on cp), free jellybeans and I got my $3 ECBs!

      • Tjvsmom

Do you know the exp date on the B1G1 Q ?
        Thanks

        • Amy J.

          03/30

      • Nita Royal

The Hershey's miniatures in the bag are also free with this coupon- yum!

    • Nita Royal

My favorite CVS store wouldn't take the $1 Irish Spring q, since it said “Redeem at Walgreens”. These are my favorite coupon cashiers and store manager, who are usually cheering me on, but they were paranoid that this would not get reimbursed. (Even though they noted that it was a mfg Q).

      • Mel

The fine print said reedemablebat food, drug, or discount and other stores accepting coupons. Used mine this morning.

Same thing happened to me last night. They even tried and eventually forced it through because it didn't say “redeem only at Walgreens.” I'm so thankful for nice cashiers but this did prove to be a bit of an issue. I do not want them to ever force a coupon that they will get in trouble for/not get reimbursed for.

      • Guest

I always wondered why a store would take a coupon designated for another store anyway, it doesn't seem right to me.

    • scratching my head!

Just left my local CVS and I'm confused. Bought the herbal essence, used the bogo coupon and the $1 off coupon. The register took both without a problem. But, the cashier voided the transaction and told me I could only use one coupon but not both. Was she correct or just being mean?

      • maimaie

You were buying two products, therefore you can use TWO coupons regardless of the amount off. You should be able to use both. I would go back and try another cashier, then the manager!

        • scratching my head!

That is what I thought. But, just wanted to be sure. I don't want to do anything wrong, but honestly, she finds problems with me everytime she waits on me. The last time she wouldn't let me use coupons on clearance mdse they had at the front of the store. Said she couldn't take the coupons since the products weren't in their system…

          • Priscilla

If you have another CVS close by, I recommend switching stores. As long as it won't cost you much in gas $ it sounds like it would be worth saving yourself the weekly headache and to make sure you get the deals you've planned for. Good luck!

            • Amber

I had the same problem…they wouldn't let me use both the B1G1 and $1off coupons on the Aussie deal. This has never been an issue for me before.

            • Herene

My CVS is the same way. The cashier said it wouldn't take the $1 coupon which sucks cuz now it's not FREE.

          • Nita Royal

I used to have the same problem with clearance merchandise, but finally called corporate. They confirmed that coupons should be accepted, and THEY contacted the regional manager to direct retraining at his stores. They also gave me his name and direct number, in case I encountered the issue again. Haven't had a problem since, so you might want to give them a call.

      • millie

you should have been able to use both, becuase the $1 off was for the first product and the B1G1 was for the second, one coupon per item. if it did not beep and the computer had already accepted it she should have left it alone. talk to the manager…(to me) it seems wrong for her to have done that. hang in there!

    • maimaie

Last week I had some trouble at CVS (forgetting my ECB, couldn't find everything I needed, and forgot a few coups too!), which resulted in me spending more OOP than I wanted to. This week I have a rather complicated scenario planned and I was hoping someone could help me out by checking my math.

As a result of last week I have $13 ECB ($3 and $10)

      Transaction 1:
      (1) Gain Dish Liquid $0.97
      (1) Theraflu Trial Size $0.99
      (1) Crest Complete Rinse $3.49
      (1) Crest Toothpaste $3.49
      (1) -1 Gain Dish
      (1) -2 Thereaflu
      (1) -1 Crest Toothpaste
      -3 ECB
      Total: 2.94 +tax
Get Back: $0.99 and $5 ECB

      Transaction 2:
      (1) Tena pads $9.99
      (1) DenTek Flossers $2.99
      (1) -1.50 Tena Pads
      (1) -1 DenTek
      -10 ECB
      Total: 0.48 +tax
      Get Back: $9.99 ECB

      Transaction 3:
      (2) Maybelline Eye Studio $6.99
      (2) -1.50 Maybelline Eye Studio
      -9.99 ECB
      Total: 0.99 +tax
      Get Back: $4 ECB

Transaction 4: (I did some price checking at my store for this one)
      (1) Neosporin $5.79
      (1) Band-Aid $4.29
      (1) DenTek Flossers
      (1) -1.50 Neo and Band-Aids together
      (1) -1 DenTek
      -9.99 ECB
      Total: 0.58 +tax
Get Back: $2 and $5 ECB

      Transaction 5:
      (2) Herbal Essences hair care $2.98
      (1) B1G1 Herbal Essences hair care (In my paper today!)
      (1) -1 Herbal Essences hair care
      -2 ECB
      Total: nothing +tax
      Get Back: $2 ECB

Left for next week: $2 and $5 ECB

      • biskit0323

I may be reading this wrong but it looks like you are trying to use your ECB from trans #2 for Trans #3 and #4?

        • Maimaie

Oops… that was bad typing on my part. The ECB from Transaction 2 went toward transaction 3, while the ECB from transaction 1 and 3 (totaling 9.99) went toward transaction 4.

All in all this worked out well for me today. Aside from prices being slightly higher than I originally planned I was able to find everything I needed. I did have one issue though, I have two CVS very close to me. One is slightly more expensive than the other. How is this possible?? Of course the more expensive one always has what I need, while the other often “doesn't carry” a certain item (ie. the trial size Theraflu from this weeks ad)!

          • Moms-coupons

I shop at two different CVSs depending on whether I'm going from work or from home…and I haven't noticed a price difference, I'll have to look out for that! What I did notice was a difference in tax rates…I live and work in neighboring cities, you really can't tell the difference between one and the other, and the CVS by work has a lower tax :)

    • LeighO

My CVS in Mullins, SC, wouldn't take the $2 off Theraflu Q for the trial size because the Q was for more than the product (it did beep)… I'll try it somewhere else though. Also they didn't have the Irish Spring deodorant, so I got a raincheck. And milk wasn't $2.49, it was $3.79 or $3.89 (forget)–they NEVER do the milk deals here :(

    • millie

i live in central alabama and the inserts in my paper are terrible. so i usually order from wholecouponinserts (dotcom) or coupon beat (dotcom), couponbeat has free shipping on their inserts but you can't order them until sunday whereas wholecouponinserts are availible to order on friday morning. you might want to buy one paper and just see what the inserts look like, if they are good it would be worth buying more than one, if not it would be cheaper to order them online (opposed to a subscription price. both of these sites have a rundown of what is in the inserts that you are ordering so you will know if you are getting the coupons you want. make sure you look at all of the information that jenny has posted like the getting started guides and the beginners guides. hang in there and always feel free to ask for help on any of the comments sections. the printable links and company websites are good place to look and if you just want certain coupons there are a ton of clipping sites where you can customize your order. i know you are thinking “buy coupons”? but yes it does cost a little bit up front but once you start saving and getting into the “groove” of all of this you will see that you are paid back 10 fold for your efforts! good luck and welcome to couponing!

      • millie

sorry guys i was trying to reply to christine who just started couponing yesterday and somehow it ended up as a regular comment.

    • Aprillovesopera

I went to CVS in Tallahassee, Florida today and got the 10 ECB with 25 in P&G stuff. When I got home I noticed that the toilet paper (charmin) had an insert in the bottom of the packaging for $25 worth of coupons…they are WONDERFUL coupons so look for the toilet paper that has the coupons…some do and some don't…happy shopping!

    • Blingbeads1

I was disappointed when I saw that my CVS didn't have the Theraflu or the Dial lotion because I had spent hours getting my spreadsheet done so I had very little OOP. This really blew my all my work but I got over it when my Coke/Reese's deal actually went thru with no beeps. When I was in CVS last week I got Coke coupons off a teare pad for $1 off when you buy Coke and Reese's. So today I got six king size Reese's which were buy 2 get one free and the cokes were $1. It actually rang up right and I handed her my 6 $1 off coupons which left me owing 7.38. I had a $3 off 15 so I only paid 4.38 for 6 Cokes and 6 Reese's.

      • kpswagger

Same here, the theraflu and dial lotion items not being at my store threw my whole shopping scenario off.

      • Jbush27

        Me too.

    • Donna

For last weeks deals I had a $3 off q for Revlon Make up from the “Magic CVS Red Machine” and I had a “regular” newspaper $1 off q that I was going to use. The cashier said I couldn't use both because the one from the machine was a manufacture q. I thought it was a store q. anyone know????

      • Holly L.

The coupons from the machine are store coupons. Or that's how it works at my store. I did 3 of the Revlon deals last week and used 3 CVS $3 off and 3 MQ $1 off.

      • Griffingirl69

I used both last wk~she just didn't know what she was talking about..

      • Msmelmag

I was told the same thing last week….q from the Red Machine is a manuf q b/c the manuf pays them for it…..what I was told by a mgr. It really didn't matter to me since the nail polish I was buying was free anyway!

      • Crystal

I got the same $3 coupon, and mine was a store coupon. I bought a mascara last week and used the $3 store coupon and the $1 manufacturer coupon. I was never sure about their policy on using both coupons for the same item, so I emailed corporate awhile back and got a quick rundown on a few things. I quote: “Our registers are set to allow one CVS coupon and one manufacturer coupon per item.”

        Hope that helps!

    • Melissa

My CVS didn't have the Theraflu…and it wasn't even in the circular when I went to look for it.

      • Nita Royal

My circular had it, but the stores didn't!

        • anna

My store did not have the theraflu either but what the store manager did for me was he gave me 0.99 off like a coupons on my purchase.

    • ~Heather~

No Theraflu in my CVS today, BUT there was a nice surprise… a nice big buggy of 90% off items, I was able to get hair color, shampoo, body wash, all kinds of things at 90% off and even had coupon for some of them, saved $106!! :)

    • Fsavage24

Did anyone have a hard time using the $2 off coupon for the Theraflu? I was told no. I don't even know if they have a coupon policy. I normally don't shop at CVS (loyal Rite Aid shopper). BTW I couldn't find the Theraflu for 10 minutes and even the pharmacist and associates couldn't find until I turned around and found them hanging up at an end cap near the pharmacy. It was hanging on a long plastic thing you see in grocery stores and hang very small items. Hope this helps.

      • Galveston 2000

yes-gladewater, tx cvs wouldn't even try it because-it only cost 99 cents-I think these coupons come right out of thier check.

      • Isu2014

It worked for me…they just adjusted it to .99

      • nope mine worked perfectly, you do mean the $3/2 coupons right?

    • Mlaurie406

Will the $3 off Purex with Zout work on regular Purex??

      • Tishness

yes it will work for any purex named product i work there and used the same coupon yesterday!!!

    • Liz

I went to CVS when I was out of town, and it seems they have begun to adjust the amount of the coupon so as not to allow for overage or money makers.

      • Griffingirl69

Yes…they have because my cvs did that the last time I was in there and they never did it before..

        • Amber

I had this problem today, as well.

      • Stephanie

        Same here. I was disappointed.

    • purwiggy

Couldn't find the Theraflu, but I did get the Dial lotion, 3 Dove Dark Chocolate Bars, and a 2-L Coke for 1.04 OOP. (I had 3 ECB from last time plus some coupons, got 3 ECB back for next time.)

    • Stacey

If you're looking for the theraflu, it's probably not in the cold/flu isle (at least it wasn't at the store I go to). I had to ask the cashier and it was on a hanger in the make up isle…weird. So I found it but then my cashier wouldn't let me use the $2 off coupon because it went over the price even though it doesn't say anything about a trial size. He was really uptight about the whole coupon thing.

      • Oh yeah u got totally Robbed. I have done with the 5 coupons i had and not once did I have a problem, One girl started to say “it will only take off $2” but then she did it and it rang $3 and she said “oh it worked, cool”
So ur cashier was being lazy… At one store the store manager rang me up and still didn't have a problem.. Just go back when another person is there..Sorry u had problems

    • MacsMommy

Yeah, I got hosed, too. The register beeped when the clerk scanned my coupon and she adjusted the deduction from $2 to $0.99 without telling me. I am not sure what the rules are – does CVS have a coupon policy?

      • Sarah

        their policy is not published

      • Tishness

i dont know what is going on with that coupon but i will keep a look out on it for you and let you know if it should have been 2.00 or just the .99 cause i know my cashers are taking them i just dont know if they r having to punch it in or not.

      • Couponmom

Personally I don't think you should be able to get $2.00 off of an item you are only paying .99 cents for. That seems a bit dishonest to me and taking advantage of the system.

        • Gabriela

Do you think CVS should get the 2,00 then? Somebody is going to get paid that 2,00 anyway….. if they accept your coupon, for a smaller value they will still get the 2.00. I do not think it is dishonest…… I don't think they should give the cash either…. so why not let you buy something else with that money?

    • My3kidz68

Can someone please answer a question I have? The sales papaer says limit 1 per household with card. I did a 2nd trans. and didn't get the ECB. Does that mean a limit per that sales week, per day, per transaction?

      • Amelancon

        Limit for the week/ ad

      • Sarah

It is your limit per card for that week. Your card tracks your purchases.

      • DebTN

The “deals” where there is a sale price plus EB's are good for a week. Once you have reached the limit for the week it will show up at the bottom of your receipt. On my receipt from today it says Aussie, buy 2 get 2 EB *offer Limit reached. Same thing for the Irish Spring, oral B, P&G, and Tena. Some people have a card for themselves and for a spouse so they could do the deals again with another card. I just have one card. I once had a CVS clerk tell me that sometimes CVS will allow you another deal later in the week, but I'm not sure how you would know unless you tried it. Maybe someone here can speak to that.

        • Tishness

ok here is the deal when it says1 per house hold it means u can only get one for that card if you have 2 different cards you can get 2 ecb's on both cards but when u go to use the ecb's we r not allowed to over-ride the coupon if you have 2 different cards cause that is not fair to others who only have 1 as for the cleark telling you about getting the same deal twice never will that happen on a 1 per house hold item, it only works on items that dont have limits on how many you can get, so i dont know where that clerk was getting that from.

        • My3kidz68

OK, Thank you for answering. I thought something I read on here said you could roll these deals as long as you had coupons, items, or just wanted to stop. Guess I misunderstood. I'm just getting started so thank you for your help.

          • Stefluvs2sign

You can roll deals at Walgreens bc there is no card to keep track.

      • luv2shop

I ran into that todayon the Irsh Spring. It was one per Irish Spring thing… soap. deoderant, body wash. If I had known I would have taken the other coupon to another store, but lesson learned.

      • Stefluvs2sign

Yes if it is limit 1 you can only get that deal 1 time for that WEEK not per transaction. It knows you hit your limit bc it is attached to your CVS card.
This is the reason we have 2 CVS cards. *grin*

    • Me

CVS seems to never have sale items..I went to two local stores when they opened today to get the purex 3.99…neither store had the item….my coupons run out 19th so this is frustrating…

      • Tjmj9801

        Did you get a raincheck?

    • Guest

Did anyone else have problems using theraflu coupon on trial size product for .99cents

      • Maimaie

My cashier just altered the value of the coupon (after the register beeped). I half expected this to happen. It means the deal wasn't as much of a money maker as I was expecting, but it was still free!

        • Mrs Jhhendrix

My cashier said she couldn't take a coupon greater than the value of the item:(

      • Kenzbug

After leaving one store that has a very unfriendly coupon cashier, I decided not to use my Theraflu coupon. I had already experienced enough aggravation for 1 day. Maybe I'll try later in the week. Were you able to use yours?

      • renamac

GET 2 TO ABSORB THE OVERAGE PAY NOTHING BUT TAX GET BACK 99 CENTS ecb

      • Stephanie

I did. Like the others who mentioned it here, they wouldn't allow the overage. I didn't think about buying 2, but I did happen to see a $1 Q on the inside of the package so I just ripped it out and used it instead. Better to waste .01 than 1.01, right?

    • Burroughs85

I started couponing in December 2010, and have quickly become addicted! It feels great to save so much….and thanks so much for the great work Jenny does with this site! I never thought I'd learn how or have the time to do it, but she makes it organized and easy to follow! During my few months of learning, I have quickly learned the importance of a planned drug store trip, in order to save the most money possible. And I have found that order does matter and can make a big difference in your out of pocket expense. I was wondering if anyone has a specific form or spreadsheet they use to plan their trips or if you just write it on paper? I would love to see any forms or sheets anyone has created if you wouldn't mind sharing! Thanks again!

      • Burroughs85

So….today I got determined to come up with some kind of form to make it easier to plan my trips.. I haven't used it too much yet, so it may need adjustments! But if anyone is interested I wouldn't mind sending it as an attachment if it would help anyone else! I used excel to create it, but didn't put in the information for it to add automatically. I just created it and printed it off to write in the information. If you are interested let me know!

        • Christie

I'd love to have a copy. I have been trying to find a format that works, but it just never seems to happen. I also keep hoping that I can figure out a way to create multiple SS shopping lists on one page… couponprincess9 at yahoo dot com

        • Brewerbaby06

yes please send excel sheet brewerbaby06@yahoo.com

    • Mwagoner6

Is there anything I can do with expired ECBs, my local store would not let me use them. They expired on 3-5-11, any advice?

      • Stefluvs2sign

Unfortunately the only thing you can do is flip it over and use it to write your shopping list on :( sorry I know I HATE when I find an expired one GRRRRRRRR

        • renamac

I am so sorry that u all are having trouble uusinf expired ECB my CVS's let us use them I live in Cleveland tn

      • Chele17rene

Call some of your local CVS”S, some stores will take expired Q's and ECB!!! MINE DOES!!!! :)

    • Stefluvs2sign

What zip code is the Irish Spring printable under?
Also FYI the $1/2 Honest Tea printable coupon expired 2/1and the other one is no longer available :(

    • Sarcasticangel_82

The red cupon machine printed 5.00 off of Revlon on eyeshadow or mascara….there is single eyeshadow's for 4.99, making it free!

    • Stacielovescoupons

The magical red coupon machine printed a 25% off my entire purchase coupon!!! It did not work on clearance items, but it still saved me 5.99!! My CVS had LOTS of makeup on clearance, so I ended up with $113 worth of makeup, shampoo, and floss, and paid $9.87 (after all coupons!) and got back $5 ecb's for the floss!!! :)

      • Burroughs85

WOW!! did you do a single transaction or many? I'm trying to learn how to really maximize my savings!

        • Stacielovescoupons

It was all in 1 transaction! Always check the clearance bins, they're usually in the back of the store. They had tons of makeup at mine, then pair it with coupons. If the cashier tells you that you can't use coupons for clearance items, ask to speak to a manager (I had to do that yesterday, because they have to push the coupons thru on clearance items) they will do it, just all cashiers don't know that.

          • Burroughs85

Oh wow! That would make for great savings! Thanks so much for the reply! Way to go!

    • Mcleodsc

I ran into another “SOUTHERN SAVER” couponer at CVS yesterday!

    • Chrystal

I just spent $32 OOP at CVS. I was so irritated with the checkout guy. I did my first transaction which was $4 and was going to do the charman deal 2nd. As I am entering my debit card number and answering all the questions the little machine asks I start to put my 2nd transaction on the counter and the guy hurrys to add them on my total. I hit cancel as I'm entering my pin number and it just runs it as credit….I was so mad. The guy said he would refund all my money and start over but I had 3 people behind me in line and i didn't want to take forever. So now I have $19 in ECB for next week. Everything I get for the next 2 weeks better be free is all I say. Lesson Learned don't put up next transaction until receipt is in hand for the first.

      • msivory20

wow, how annoying! If there's no one behind me in line, then I tell the cashier how many transactions I plan on doing before we even get started just to give them a head's up :)

    • Jen B.

The EB you get on you birthday, from the beauty club, do they come in an email or at the red box?

      • April

        mine came as an email

    • Tdouglas26

After reading many of these comments, It seems to me, that CVS is becoming a little more strict on us couponers. My opinion is, if they don't want us to use the system to our advantage, they should not have a system. furthermore. if they'd put out an official policy, it would clear up the confusion. It sounds like they are being told not to take certain coupons and I know they don't do overages anymore. but using a bogo and another coupon on two items is perfectly legal, its just their “opinion” to not accept it , which is wrong. I have decided that if I keep having issues, I'm going to start using Walgreen's.

    • renamac

I went to CVS on Saturday like I have been every Saturday for a year now to shop for Sunday's sale. Well, this Saturday none of the items were ringing up on sale and I asked and the cashier said CVS corporate told them they couldn't start sales on Saturday's anymore. Anyone else have this experience? My instinct tells me this is just a decision of that store or maybe the district.

      • Marlenecu

My CVS in Griffin GA told me same thing several weeks ago!

      • renamac

Yes I had the same thing happen to me I just thought it was a little odd because I usually go to our 24hour cvs if I want to do my Sunday shopping on sat but I went to a non 24hr store and they had the old Ad item signs down and no new sales ad up so I asked and was told that they were still running the old sale but not Sunday's ad until Sunday .

      • msivory20

My non-24 hr. store informed me on Saturday afternoon that corporate told them they couldn't run the new ad deals until 6 pm Saturday night, which is a new policy for my store. But at least I can still go early :)

    • renamac

The way to do the theraflu is to buy 2 use 1 @.oo coupon and get back 99 cents ECB

    • AJ

Ran my CVS deal this AM.

      A few notes.

The Theraflu was behind the checkout counter. My cashier got 2 for me. The $3/2 coupon rang up for only $2 (or she had to input it that way; I had to run out to grab my money from the car while she did the coupons, but I trust her, so it wasn't a problem). Still a good deal as I got them both free plus a $.99 ecb printout.

The Kraft/Coke deal looks like it's a limit of 2, not one. My receipt says
Kraft, Spend 15 get 5 EB
      Amount Toward this reward 15.00
Amount Needed to earn reward 15.00
I did get my $5 printout for buying the coke products.

I couldn't find any Neutrogena products for less than $9 per, so I didn't run that deal. Not sure what would have been $6.39.

Going back later this week to grab a few more deals and use the ECB I got today towards those. Nice week at CVS. Can't remember the last time I went twice because there were just that many deals. I don't like doing multiple transactions in one trip. Besides, I get the green tag scanned more often if I go on diff days. :D

    • The super deals at CVS are finally back! I've missed my fun shopping trips and last night's outing was definitely FUN! I received a CVS Mailer last week that had a $5/1 Dulcolax Balance Q and a $3/1 Dulcolax product Q, which made the Dulcolax Balance a $3MM (paired with MQ) and the regular Dulcolax free. The $2/1 Theraflu Q beeped because it exceeded the value but the cashier pushed it through since it didn't specify that it wasn't valid on trial sizes. I did 2 transactions, spent $3.12 OOP, saved $49.68, and ended up with $12 ECBs leftover to use next week. (Click the link on my name for detailed transaction/coupon info.)

    • ElizabethL

I don't know if anyone else has had/will have this issue, but I wanted to give a heads up just in case. I had to get an rx at my cvs yesterday, so I bought my items (2 Clean and Clear body washes) at the pharmacy counter. For some reason they rang up as B1G1 at full price, and the pharmacy girl said I could only use 1 Q on B1G1 items, which was weird. That would have made them about $2 each with the Q, so I had her cancel them. After I bought my rx I checked the tags on the body washes and they were indeed $2.99 as Jenny stated above. So I went and bought them at the front counter. They rang up correctly there. So I don't know what was going on, but needless to say I'll be buying all of my items at the front counter from now on.

    • Chumuckla56

I think this was a great shopping trip yesterday. I ended up with 11+ free products. Bought $151.30 in products, saved $96.04 and paid $55.25. This is a first in a long time. Too bad, they were out of some of the products I had Rain Checks for or it would have been better!

    • Cheshirecats4

My cvs had $1.50 Q's off any diet coke 12-pack. So I scored big on the $15 coke deal. ($1.60 per 12-pack) Clearance finds: $1.37 Pantene total control hair gel, Clairol semi-permanent hair color for $2.24. Plenty of $1 or $2 off Q's for those floating around.

    • Rachel

I got an unexpected freebie: The magical red coupon box printed out a $6.50 coupon off of any Physician's Formula cosmetic. I got a concealer stick that was priced at $5.37. Good luck!

    • Julie

This is what I got for free today…

2 Herbal Essences products (used BOGO and $1 qs, but she didn't want to accept the $1 off one at first)
      1 Tena ($2.50q)
      1 Crest ($1.00 q)
1 CVS lotion (got a $2 off q from the machine)
      1 Lifesavers jellybeans

They were out of the Irish Spring deoderant and I couldn't make the Neutrogena deal work out.

    • Kmanganaro

Does any one know if th 10ECB wyb $25 in Baby producs will work for papmers pants?

    • I did AWESOME at CVS today! THANK YOU SO MUCH SOUTHERN SAVERS!
At the red box, I got 5 coupons to print. One was for 25% off my entire order good for the next three days. I also got a $5 off $25 to use by the end of the month! Additional coupons were $2 off 100ct CVS brand tylenol and $1 off mitchem deodorant.

I just did one transaction as follows:
      Herbal Essence Mousse – 2.99 ($1.00 Q)
      Herbal Essence Shampoo – 2.98(BOGO Q)
      Purex 3in1 Laundry sheets – 3.99 x 3 ($3.00 Q x 3)
      Dial Nutraskin lotion – 4.99 ($2.00 Q)
      Dentek Floss picks – 2.99 x 3 ($1.00 Q x 3
      1 Band-aid – 4.39
      1 Neosporin – 5.49 ($1.50 q)
      CVS 100ct version of Tylenol ($2.00 q)
      1 Mitchem Deodorant – 3.79 ($1.00 q)

      25% off order q = ($7.61)
      ECB's used = ($12.00)

      Total before coupons: 56.91
      Total after coupons: 14.82

Picked up another $12.00 ECB's so my order came to $2.82!

    • Julieinnc

Question…my add has swiffer sweeper refill pads on sale. ($7.49 for 32 ct). I have a BOGO coupon for this. Can I also use a $1 off coupon for the one I pay for? TIA!

      • kristin

        Yes you can

    • Tammie_willy

I just took a regular sheet of paper with horizontal lines on it and made my own vertical lines with the following columns: ECB/RR; Item; Price: Coupon; Net and use for both walgreens and or CVS. I write both my WAGS and CVS lists on the same page to save paper. I love it because it shows my total out of pocket in the Net column, and the first column (ECB/RR) is helpful at Walgreens so I ensure that I get all the RR's I was expecting. I just xerox the page and keep a stack by the computer so when I'm ready to make my list I can. I usually do only one transaction at CVS so I don't need to break my list up into separate transactions. I've been “rolling” the same ECBs at CVS for several years now-they go down sometimes and then come back up but I rarely pay anything out of pocket at CVS. Walgreens is not as easy to do that and I don't plan my scenarios in advance since they often don't have all the items on sale. But I can use my list to quickly know how much out of pocket and make up my scenarios in the store.

      • Burroughs85

Thanks so much! Do you feel that the regular sale items aren't usually the best deal? Is that why you stick to the ECB deals? I have a hard time deciding when to buy and when its really not the best price.

    • guest

Curious, has anyone ever received overage from a Q? Today I bought two Clairol hair color on clearance ($1.74 ea) and used 1 $5/2 Clairol Q from 3/13 paper. I thought I would receive overage like I do at Publix, but when I looked at the receipt at home, only 3.48 was taken off. So I was just curious if this happens to others or if others have actually received overage. By the way, as far as I know, the cashier didn't change the face of the Q to reflect the $3.48 I received instead of the full $5. Thanks.

    • Marcie

I am SO excited! I just purchased the deals Jenny posted (give or take a few things) and saved a TON of money! I LOVE saving money! I paid in total 34.78 out of pocket for 130.55 valued in stuff! (That is if I bought everything I bought on a regular non-sale day without coupons or extra bucks!)

    • Mary

I went to CVS Saturday night because by Sunday they are usually out of whatever I wanted…to my surprise there were none of the paper towels and only one of the dial lotion. I asked up front and she had a manager go get me the paper towels….another SSaver asked when she saw mine and they called back for another one and said “oops, thats the last one!” Whatever!!! They only stocked 2 paper towels and one lotion for the week? Starting to feel like I'm getting scammed here…

      • gwhiz

Similar situation at my CVS, normally they have all the products marked and in the aisles – NOTHING was marked and I had to scan everything to make sure I was buying the correct item. 1/2 of the items weren't stocked!

      • Joan

Did you ask about geting a raincheck? My CVS was out of the Dial Lotion too, but they gave me a raincheck and you can still get the ECBs.

      • Spraymom

        ME TOO !!!

    • Parul

I want to know pin code for rish Spring Deodorant. Help me please

      • Mcleodsc

        What is a pin code?

        • Parul

          It's Zipcode

      • Andre

        It's a goner.

        • Parul

          Thanks, my bad luck..

    • Leah

Make sure you're scanning your card for coupons! I got a $1.50 off Irish Spring deoderant coupon from the CVS kiosk today. That combined with the sale and the $1.00 off coupon I already had meant a 1.50 profit on deoderant!

    • Pang_tu1

I tried to use $1 Q for gain today and my cvs won't let me use it. They said they no longer allow overage. Is it just my store or everywhere? I live in Nashville, TN.

      • AJ

I bought 20 bottles of Gain from their back room at .97 a bottle w/ my $1 off coupon and they had no problem w/ it. 4 bottles came up to .24

        • guest

Where did you get the 20 $1 coupons? I would love to get some more gain, but only had 2 out of the pg book :(

      • Rlynn103

My CVS just reduced the coupon to .97 with no problems.

      • rjc

They always reduce mine down to .97 and never say a word.

    • Catiei

Just got back from CVS for a 2nd run….here's what I got…a 10 count Claritan, 1 herbal essence shampoo, 1 herbal essence mouse, 1 AA 4pk and 1 AAA 4pk duracell batteries, 6 Renuzit Air fresheners, 3 Dove candy bars, and 3 M&M singles all for 2.83 cent! I had CVS coupons for a free box of Claritan for a reward after buying two boxes, a $5 off $25, .50 cent off Dove, .25 cent off M&Ms and of course manufacturer coupons for everything. I used $4 in ECB and that left on $2.83 out of pocket. My reward for walking in and spending my $2.83 was another $2.00 reward bucks! I just love CVS!

    • Gingiraffe

Did anyone receive a home mailer that said something to the effect of getting a $5 off $25 purchase every week at the kiosk? CVS sent me a survey asking if I received this in the mail. I don't think I've ever received anything in the mail from them, just email. I would LOVE this deal! They also gave me $5 ECB just for taking the survey! Definitely helped with the diapers deal this week! They also sent me a $2 off coupon for any CVS beauty product to encourage me to get the needed few dollars to get my $5 Beauty ECB back. So I bought $2 worth of cotton balls (for free) and got $5 back!

    • Nikkie

i went to cvs yesterday to purchase toothpaste and the trial size of thera flu for .99. I used a $1 off for the crest and $2.50 off for the thera flu. the register kept beeping saying that maximum discount was .99. I asked why and she said i could get another theraflu and it would give me 1.98 off my purchase because you can no longer make money off your transaction. Has anyone else encountered this

      • di

        yes i dont like it……………………….

        • Mark

Yes… same deal (or lack of deal) here and they wouldn't take coupons unless it was the exact match for the item I purchased. For example, I had 4 once goldfish and the coupon for the 6.6. ounce wasn't accepted. The deals I thought I had were not there… so much for the CVS bargain days.

          • AJ

Well, trying to use a coupon for a 4 oz container when the coupon plainly states 6.6 oz is wrong. You should only use coupons for the size and type listed on the coupon.

The Theraflu coupons did NOT state any size restrictions at ALL. Only the amount and the number, but didn't restrict to a certain size. Different issue.

      • guest

I have been couponing since Jan. and have not gotten any overages at the CVS. They always adjust the coupons which is fine with me! I'm just glad to be getting the sale and the discount with my coupon…

    • Spraymom

They were out of the Dial Nutriskin today and I have 3 coupons. The guy there would not write a rain check for 3…only for one?? Who knows? I am about to give up on drug stores anyway because I NEVER get any of the deals, they are always out of everything the very first day of the sale…..I guess you have to camp out there until the store opens to get them….:) To beat the lady that goes in and buys 50 of everything….

      • Morgan

I understand your frustration. It's discouraging to go to a drug store on Sunday afternoon only to have one of the associates inform me that the 'flea market ladies' were there at opening and left with full carts of sale items. I just keep trying to remember that I need to spend my energy on positive things…

      • Andre

You can only get ECB on one anyway.

        • AJ

True, you can only get ecb on one, but if she has good coupons, maybe she wants the other 2 on sale with her coupons and still makes a good deal even without ecb.

@Spraymom, I'm surprised you only could get him to write for one. I probably wouldn't make a huge fuss, but if it wasn't the manager that was waiting on you, I'd have asked for the manager.

      • rjc

If they are out of something ask if they can substitute it for something else. It depends on the store and the manager if they will. I made it a point to make friends with my manager and he is great about helping me out.

      • Shuffman3737

walgreens also has a deal with $3 in register rewards, and while you can only buy 1 at a time, you can go back as many times as you want and repeat the deal. I've been having alot of problems with the CVS closest to me not having any of the items I want. They aren't sold out, just don't stock any of the good sale items.

      • Kenzbug

I know what you mean. I get very frustrated with my store. I even asked them if they start the sale on Saturday, like some do. They said no. But still I go in very early on Sunday mornings and everything that has ecb's is gone. Most of the time, I don't end up getting anything, because there is nothing left to get. Occasionally I might find something if somebody has hidden it and I happen to find it.

      • Grisy

Since that is an Extrabuck deal it depend on the limit set it usually says in the flyer how many you can get, so that might be the reason the cashier only gave you one, the empty shelves happen to me all the time, I just adjust my scenarios with my old rain checks in the following weeks and sometimes you can make it work even better (you will have variety of products to choose). Take it easy on you! couponing suppose to help us not stress us.

      • Danielle

If you want more than one just go to a dfifferent CVS to get it. I will do that if a store has a great sale but limits the deals. When Publix had the Homestyle mac and cheese I got two rain checks not realizing that 5 deals meant 10. lol

    • Aliciajsams

What red box prints out coupons.

      • msivory20

There is a big red scanning machine usually near the front registers where you scan your CVS card , and it will print out a couple CVS coupons. I believe you can scan it twice in one visit.

        • DebTN

I scanned mine 3 times today. Well actually I scanned it 4 times, got coupons the first 3. I scan until I get the “no more today” message.

        • Gail

I always scan my card and it seems 3/4 of the time, I get candy q's. I use CVS pharmacy and have NEVER gotten the $25. q. However, my friend has gotten at least 3 and does not use their pharmacy…what's with that?

          • kpswagger

CVS wants them to shop more at the store!

    • Slgumm

I have a question about the herbal essence/aussie bogo coupon. Can you use it to buy a shampoo and get the conditioner free? It says you get a “styler” free, but I'm not sure what qualifies. Thanks!

      • Val

A styler would be mousse, gel, or hairspray.

    • msivory20

So the truck came in today at my CVS and still there was no Trial sz. Theraflu to be found!!! The cashiers said that they just didn't get any. How can corporate put something in an ad that they won't even stock in the store??? Should I call customer service and complain?

      • Trigerst

I went there at 12noon on Sunday to make sure I could get my sale items & they were out of every item that I wanted to purchase…Uuugh!

        • msivory20

I feel your pain ;) Its frustrating when the lack of merchandise isn't because people came and bought it all up, but because the store won't even carry it! Well, it IS frustrating when other coupon-ers swoop in and buy multiples of everything, but you know what I mean :)

          • Danielle

I tried for the Planters bars last week, had the store manager helping me. He said he had never seen any of the Planters bars in but he gave me a rain checks. Kind of glad he didnt, Publix price was better. I love shopping at CVS, they are alway so nice and helpful.

        • Trigerst

OK REDEEMED! I went to a different CVS this afternoon & they had all of the sale items that I wanted (except Thera-flu trial size)…Perhaps I need to go to that same one every Tuesday afternoon? Hmmm…

    • di

i have notice no more overage on our coupons. its not fair they take off example hair dye 1.74×2 =3.48 and u have 5off 2 but they get to credit the 1.52 of the coupon not fair…..

    • Asr0423

i have a question about the herbal essence bogo coupon… so this is my idea ill do the deal of charmin bounty and puffs. have 10 ecb left. then for 2nd scenerio is sublime mouss and herbal essence so its 7.99+5.97=13.96-3 Q for mousse=10.96 … ok so this the question if i use the bogo coupon for the herbal essence it says its free… so does that mean my actual price will go down to 4.99 just for the mousse *meaning do i need fillers* been a while since i couponed im out of practice.thanks

      • jhoran

        7.99+5.97=13.96 … -3.00 Q for mousse and 2.98 Q for herbal essence = 7.98 and if you have1.00q for the buy 1 herbal essence, subtract another 1.00.

      • jhoran

Disregard previous reply …did not realize that the mousse was for the herbal essence coupon…. in which case, I believe the mousse would be 2.98 and the shampoo 2.99, so you would not be able to use the 3.00q for the mousse since it would be free, but if you have a 1.00 q for the shampoo your total would be 1.99 and you would get back 2.00 ebc..making both free.

    • Angie8220

If I use extra bucks to purchase something that also gives back extra bucks will it give me those extra bucks to

      • Andre

        Yes.

    • I feel your frustration….but just get a rain check…@ CVS they never expire and that way I make my own sales when I actually NEED the items. I LOVE the fact they never expire and always print the ECB's!! I love CVS!!

      • Lissakayd

I have one I'm going to redeem today (if they have it) from a couple of weeks ago where they had the buy colgate toothpaste for $3.79, get $3.79ECB back, limit 2. :) I love free stuff!

    • Rebirthcandles

I think I did really well this morning. The cashier and the woman in line behind was impressed;) lol

I was able to get the following:
6 renuzit adj air fresheners @ .88 each mfr cp b3g3free
      1 Purex 3-in-1 @ $3.99 mfr cp $1 off
1 Glade Lasting Impressions @ $7 mfr cp $3 off
      1 Basics liquid laundry detergent @ $3

I had $12 in ecb rewards and ended up paying: $2.51 oop. I'm so excited! My husband is even impressed.

I also had a great trip to WM last week where I saved about $28 using 42 coupons..lol

    • Amy

Hey, on Pepperidge Farm's website they have a $1 dollar off Milano cookies-that'd make it free-right? I think it would so that might be something good to check into!!

      • Kat

I only see a $.55 off coupon. Could you provide a link or tell where you found the $1 off? Yum Yum!!!

      • Lafaye247

I was going to use that coupon, but it had to be a certain size container of cookies…the ones on sale are smaller than the specified size.

    • Dtcox

    • Lissakayd

Whoa, quick question…getting my coupons ready to go and on the Herbal Essences/Aussie deal, I have both the P&G $1 off coupon and the coupon from this past Sunday paper for B1G1, you say to use both coupons to buy and it makes it free…so how many products are you buying on that? Wouldn't you have to buy 3 products (2 for the B1G1 (first transaction), then use the $1 off on the third product on the next transaction along with the extra care buck to make it free? Am I understanding that right because there is a limit of one ECB on that deal?

      • Mistydawnwall

Nope. Just 2. The B1G1 makes one of them free. The $1 off makes the one you are paying for $1 less.

      • Jen

Be sure that you give the $1/1 Q first then BOGO Q.

    • Dtcox

hope this helps the thermoflu free in v a had lots but found at end cap hanging on plastic card near the cold syrups . in a odd place . had lots of tena pks left too , also had 3 buggys full of bath gels candles and soaps hair brushes hair acc. goodys brands and cvs brands any 1.00 as many as you want . makes nice gifts later …..

    • guest

does cvs ever have diabetic test strips as an extra buck deal or even on sale? They are awfully expensive!

      • Amy

Hello, I haven't ever seen test strips on sale anywhere. There are ways to save though .. Target has an UP and UP meter /strips (store brand) that are very reasonable. Bayer (Contour and Breeze meters) has a Simple Saver program. Recently, we have saved by transferring scripts. If you care to leave your email address, I'd be happy to contact you and share what I know. :)

      • Chrystal

walgreens has strips on sale and RR back this week.

    • Zjqtcj

my CVS store wouldn't let me use the $2 off Theraflu coupon because it exceeds the value of the product ($0.99). Frustrated.

      • Christy

My $2 coupon beeped and they only allowed .99 but my mom used the $3/2 that was in the paper and it went through no problem. You only get the .99ECB but you still make $1.01 overage also and you get 2.

        • Pepsi1williams

The manager and employees are so nice in canton ga The 3/2 coupon for the theraflu beeped and she said i can only take off 2 dollars,so i said can i get 3 and you take off 3 dollars and the manager said yes we have our ways and did it thanks canton ga

      • Tangela

Mine wouldn't do it either. Why does it matter? The coupon states on it ANY and does not exclude a trial size (not that I saw anyway). Plus, when they turn it in, they wil get the FULL $2 refunded to them. I don't get it.

    • tcpearson

ok, I'm a newbie, so please forgive me if I ask a should-be obvious questions…

I have visited 2 CVS's looking for the 99 cent beauty coupon book with no success. Has CVS discontinued the book? Is there a schedule as to when it arrives in stores?

      • Bamasaver

I like to hear some input on this as well. I haven't seen any in our stores for the past two quarters.

      • tygirl13

        Ah…the elusive beauty coupon book…

I have seen them stuck between displays in the cosmetics section, in the magazine racks at the front counter, in the sale flyer rack… Your best bet is going to be to ask an employee. I know that isn't a lot of help, but definately wasn't an obvious question ;-)

      • Tammie

I have never bought the booklet, as I didn't think it was worth it. I have seen it in with other magazines, by the front counter, and by the sales ads. Once there was a stack of the beauty coupon inserts laying by the booklets, and I asked if I could have one of the coupon inserts, and they let me.

I absolutely hate the cvs by my house. The new girl checks every coupon and the price on the screen and calls her manager. The last time I went there she did not want to put through 2 coupons together each different coupon stating by 2 get x off when I bought 4 of them. This time she still checked and compared and would not run the theraflu coupon through and called her manager and he refused b/c it was worth more than the product. When I bought 2 for $1.98 they ran it through giving me $1.98 off, but when they turn the coupon in they will get the full $2!

      • Jen

I would try a different time of day. I find evenings work best because it's usually a highschool kid that doesn't care. Or try a new store. Good luck!

    • Carolyn

Woo-hoo, just got back from CVS and I scored big! 2 transactions, used $7.50 ecb, spent $4.19 oop, got back $4 ecb for next time, and saved $33.19!! Yippee! Got 2 Crest Rinse, Aussie Hairspray, HE conditioner, Gain soap, Irish Spring Deod, and 6 Renuzit. Oh, and a green bag tag.

I used this list of deals and spent all day getting my list and coupons ready. I went all the way to town for these listed CVS deals. Hardly any of these were on sale. This is the 2nd time this has happened recently. How do I get an accurate list of sale items? I did get some deals today of course, but missed several. How do I figure out what is actually on sale without making several trips to the store?

      • tygirl13

My local stores rarely put sale tags up, but the prices are still as reflected in the ad. Go to CVS(dot)com and check your local ad. It is probably the same as this one. I always grab a sale flyer on my way in and use it as my reference while shopping. Plus, you can always scan the item at the red box to make sure it is on sale. HTH

      • Caity

If an item that was supposed to be on sale isn't labeled, I take it to the red coupon machine (which is also a price checker). If the price checker says the sale price, its always given me the ECBs that are supposed to go with it too :-)

    • Heather

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but my CVS in Jax. Fl has a buy $15 in CVS brand beauty products, get $5 ECB back this week.

      • Carrie_C

I thought I had seen this somewhere! I have a $2 off CVS brand beauty and am only $15 away from the get $5 ECB for every $50 you spend. So I'm trying to figure out what $15 to buy so I can get both rewards.

    • Henaomiller

If you get duracell batteries with the buy 25 get 10 deal our CVS in Ohio has some with 20. worth of P&G qs in them!

    • Amy

I'm new at this, but on the items for ECB's, if the limit is 1, it will count against you if you try to use a B1G1 coupon and purchase 2, right? You can use the coupon, but you won't get the ECB…..I think. (??)

      • Klynn

you will get the ecb for the one.

      • Paige

I don't think it counts against you. You get one for free and then you still get your ECB's for the one you paid for.

    • Verabelle

Does CVS accept Walgreens coupons?? The link for the Irish Spring $1.00 off q is a Walgreens coupon. Thanks!

      • msivory20

The last time I tried to use a Wags Manu. Q it beeped and the cashier wouldn't take it, bummer :o/

      • kpswagger

It should be a manufacturer coupon.

    • kori

anyone else have trouble getting the tena q? maybe it's run out?

      • Jen

I also am having trouble with the coupon for Tena… the $1 works… so I will take that.

      • Sarahrhoads

google tena coupon, i did it and got a $2 one

    • docendy

my cvs took the theraflu coupon 3/2 when I bought 2. I got my ECB and the $2 overage- I had Christophe hairspray so it absorbed the overage. She scanned the theraflu coupon- it beeped she told me she couldn't take it- I asked why- she said it wouldn't scan and then proceeded to prove it to me by scanning it again- and then it took. She said nothing about the overage. So I scored 3 hairspray for $15 got 5ECB and also had a red box q for $3 off- so my $2 overage was applied to my hairspray so essentially I got all 3 for $5. Sorry you guys are having problems.

My CVS had a cart full of large bags of CVS brand of chips for .25 cents a piece!! Yes, 1 quarter!! They don't expire until October!! They said they are no longer selling them….check it out at your local store!! Good luck!

    • Momof2boys

Queston: if it says my limit has been reached on my deals does that mean for the day or for the week?

Couple pointers and other stuff :)
The b1g1 50% off on the oral b toothbrushes…at my store they had some with free crest scope toothpaste samples attached plus I had a b1g1 free coupon so for $2.09 I scored 2 toothbrushes and two trail size toothpaste!!!!

My store had the tena pads marked at $12.99 but I showed the add for the $9.99 and she changed the price for me…score free pads!!! plus the printable $1 off coupon made it a gain :)

Then comes the bad stuff. The Clerk had no patience with me she made it obvious she didn't like couponing people :( I tried to get m&m's b2g1 free deal and use my coupon for b2g1 free which should have given me 2 for free and she said she wouldn't do it. I said that their rules state that they will use one coupon per item even if it means you get the item free and she said it was her desecration and she wasn't going to do it!!! Also they didn't carry the thermaflu trial size.

      • artlady

the “limit reached” message means the limit is reached for the week.

      • cdubs

How does the b1g1 50% off on the toothbrushes work iwth hte b1g1 free coupon? I have the same situation.

    • Jaynbeth

When I started couponing about 6 months ago at cvs I would always get great coupons and a lot of $4 off $20 purchase. I have not got a $ off coupon in a long time. Yesterday the coupon machine did not give me anything even though it had been over a week since my last trip. Any ideas why?

      • soso

Me to. i wish i had a reason

    • Juwills1010

Are the purex 3in1 products, dryer sheets or some other type product?

      • Mlaurie406

        It's detergent/fabric softener/dryer sheet…all in one :)

    • Mlaurie406

I'm confused (yet thrilled!) at what just happened at my CVS. I had $9.99 ECB and some rain checks for the Oral B tooth brushes and for mouthwash (@$3.29 plus get $3.29 ECB). Well, it looks like the coupon printed for the current deal on the mouthwash (which gave me $5 ECB) and then she rang in my raincheck which *should* gave me an additional $6.58 in ECB….except she gave me $8 ECB!). I'm not complaining, but what happened?!?! I ended up getting 2 puffs, 2 power toothbrushes, 2 mouthwash, Charmin TP and Bounty paper towels (and a blue berry muffin for my son and 2 reese eggs for me b/c I needed some fillers!) for $2.50 after coupons and ECB (PLUS $10 ECB for the P&G deal to use next time!). I feel like I should go back and give them some $$ because something doesn't seem right!

      • Mlaurie406

        Ick….poor grammar/punctuation. Sorry about that!

      • Organical1

When you have rainchecks, sometimes the extra care buck you get for the rain check is more than when they ran the add.

        • Mlaurie406

Right. That's why I used my raincheck for $3.29 ECB instead of utilizing the current deal which would have given me $2.50 ECB. BUT….I got both the $2.50 each AND the $3.29 each!! I'm new, but I can't imagine that it is supposed to work that way??

          • Mlaurie406

Oops, I meant I *should* have received $3.29 ECB's each…I did actually get $4 each (and again, plus $2.50 each via the current deal for a total of $6.50 in ECB's for ONE little bottle of mouthwash!). Why would it be more?? I'm glad it was, but any reason as to why??

        • Tishness

when you do raincheck ecb's it rounds it to the next dollar amount so the 6.58 should have been 7 so she must have miss calculated and done 7 and some change making it round up to the $8's

    • jb30520

w/ CVS do you get the ECB on your next purchase or do you get them like once a quarter?

      • Bamasaver

As soon as you complete the “required purchase” on any weekly deal, the ECB prints at the bottom of your receipt for use on your next purchase. There are also quarterly ECBs that print Jan. 1st/Apr. 1st/Jul. 1st/Oct. 1st & those are based on your spending during the applicable quarter/timeframe (2% of your total spent).

    • Jill

fyi, i work at a 24 hour CVS and we activate the ad at about 4pm on Saturdays….

      • Tishness

        we activate at 6pm sat.

    • Awesomebc

Went to CVS and found some good clearance deals. Got to the register and the cashier said that I couldn't use coupons on clearnace items because they ring them up as “taxable items” so the register doesn't recognize the item that the coupon is for and they then have to manually enter the coupon. The items do show on my receipt as taxable item as opposed to the name of the product. Still this doesn't make sense to me, I think I will e-mail customer service. I still bought the items because the prices were great but it would have been better with my coupons.

      • JO

They are just giving you some bull. I have had trouble with this too. I got manager involved and it was solved. I bought a clearance item that was marked down by hand (upc marked thru and then hand written price) I also bought clearance item off shelf that was marked down but still in upc system. The cashiers dont say any thinhg about the items that are in the system but they have to call a manager for a manual override for the hand marked price. Many dont want to bother so they make up a story, I have to always get a manager. I have to tell them your store either takes coupons on ALL clearance or NONE . It can t be partial. You would think that CVS would be smart enough to train ALL cashiers the same way and realize they waste valuable money on salaries for managers doing the cashiers work. Not very smart business practice for a supposedly coupon friendly corporation

        • Tishness

if its maked down manually that means the company no longer wants it in our stores and we can not use ecb's on them but if it is marked down on shelf that means the warehouse still has more that they are trying to get rid of so they do it through the system and ecb's do work on them if you dont know what you are talking about you do not need to asume anything nor talk bad about the corporation decisions manually marked down items are like summer items and stuff like that, that we will no longer sell anymore i am a manager and disagree with your reasonings! they only reason you more than likley get your way is the manager dont want to loose the sale and takes the ecb's cause we know we will get the money back that way!

    • Awesomebc

Can't find e-mail address for CVS customer service, guess I will have to call them unless someone has an e-mail address.

    • Notgivnuphope

how do we get the P & G coupon booklet?? $110.00??? Please let me know.

      • Tombrendaed

        I too need the boolet.
