I totally agree with you. The sales are great but for just three days ? Not to mention the CVS (all THREE of them within a 5 mile radius) around me don’t carry enough of those “great” sale items. The week before last I went in on Monday and they were sold out and then last week I went early Sunday afternoon and they were sold out. I’d do rainchecks, but the whole point is to roll it and you can’t without those specific “free” items. I’m going to try going on Sunday morning (before church with a toddler and newborn, that ought to be fun) to try to catch the items. If they still don’t have them, I’m just going to go for what I need instead of the larger amount of items.

    • Marie

Some stores switch their prices over Saturday afternoon for their Sunday sales. Im not too sure what time, or if this depends on the individual store. This may be why your store is already out of the few items that they do carry. You may try Saturday afternoon/evening and just test price something you know to be on sale if the staff is unable to help you, or if you didnt mind the hassle you could test buy something and see if the ecb’s print out. Good luck getting in on those deals.

    • Ann

My CVS told me that the stores that are NOT open 24 hours start selling the Sunday sales at 6 pm on Sat. evening. Not sure what happens at he 24 hour stores.

    • Brooke Gallaway

Ok, I have a question about the B1B1 photo books at 12.99. I have a rain check for two photo books at 7.99 with 7.99 ECB that are waiting be picked up. Do you think I could get them B1B1 at 7.99 with 7.99 ECB each if I wait until Sunday to pick them up? Thanks!

    • Derek

I agree. For the past 3 weeks, I’ve gone to CVS at 11:50pm on Saturday to get all the items in a basket and then I check out a little after midnight. This is the only way I’m able to get ALL the items. Fortunately, there is a 24hr CVS just minutes from my house. Plus, one of my former students works the overnight shift Saturday night and he knows I’ll be there. He’s very helpful when it comes to locating something I can’t find. I realize that not everyone can do this, but it works for me. Thank you Jenny for posting your Grand Plans – they help out tremendously.

    • Derek

I was so caught up in typing that I forgot to ask my question. If you buy 3 of the Kashi for 3.33, it only comes to 9.99. Wouldn’t I have to buy another one to make it over $10 to get the $5 ECB?

    • Dianne

What an excellent deal on Kashi, but if you buy 3 at $3.33 that would be $9.99 and you state $10 purchase required to earn $5 ECB. Wouldn’t you have to buy 4 products at $3.33 to earn the ECB?

      • Jenny

        Diane,

Sorry for the confusion they are really 3 for $10, so you do only need to buy three, I was trying to show the individual price.

    • Derek

Oops – sorry, I just read the ad scan for Kashi and it’s 3/$10. I figured it out. :-)

    • Christine

Does anyone know if the Schick Quattro home mailer coupon is a store or manufacturer coupon? Mine doesn’t say and I thought maybe I could combine it with the -$4 manufacturer I have.

    • Melissa

Smartsource has a coupon for $1.00 off 2 Zebra Pen products…that would mean an overage of .50.

    • Melissa

      Oopps…sorry, it’s actually Pilot. I thought I read Zebra.

    • I have some Starbucks $1.00 off coupons for any starbucks or Amp drink.
I see in your scenario it says you can use three coupons even though you are only paying for two.
I have never tried that at CVS, only Publix.
      Will I have a problem??

Also, there is the same coupon for Starbucks as well as Amp!

    • Kristen

On the Colgate Toothpaste you have that it makes it FREE plus overage…is that because of the ECB’s or are you using more than one coupon?

    • Kristen
Alot of times Jenny considers them free if you make money on it AFTER Ecb’s.
I understand what she means however I don’t look at it like that.
Unless you are paying for the item with previous ECB’s and it is actually free, you still have to pay for it regardless if you make the ECB’s.
I use them for future transactions though.
      HTH.

    • Kelli

Is the math on Jenny’s Grand plan correct? I come up with something different…

    • Kristen

      Aymie,
Thank you. I like to know what is will actually cost not after the ECB’s. I have to purchase new things every week almost because they are always out of a lot of sale items so I get rainchecks but that makes me not start the week off with ecb’s. The cashier at CVS is very nice to help me out every week since I am a beginner! :) Thank you so much for your help.

    • Tarrah R.

Aymie, where did the starbucks $1 off coups come from? Thank you!

    • I recieved a printable coupon from Colgate in my email yesterday for $2.00ff of the Wisp toothbrushes 16 pack.I guess I had signed up for their mailing list to get a different coupon earlier. I think the coupon is printable from the Colgate website.

    • Tarrah
They were in the newspaper inserts a few weeks ago.
I dont remember exactly but it was one of them.
It was when there were also inserts for the Starbucks ice cream when they were also bogo at Publix, the couppns were side by side.
I also bought some on Ebay :)
      HTH

    • D.W.

      Starbucks – 6/21 SS I believe

    • NANCY

how do you know when a Q is good to buy on the ebay. Value vs cost? Cost of Q vs. Cost of buying Q for product???
      great list Jenny.

    • Adriane

      Kristen,
I haven’t found any tearpad Starbucks coupons, but there is a $1/1 Starbucks bottled Frappuccino or Doubleshot coupon in the 6/21 SS insert (expires 9/13). You could buy 3, use 3 coupons, and get all of them free!

    • Lindsay

On the LIpton Tea 12pks I also found a $1.00 off q at Kroger yesterday on a tear pad on the display in the back

    • Jessica

A couple weeks ago some people got additional extra bucks based on their spring quarter spendings. My mom and my sister both had a couple of ECBs print off. I spent more than both of them this spring, but I didn’t get any. Does anyone know why not?

    • Elizabeth

I have a question about the Caliper Triumph pens. Won’t the 2nd coupon beep b/c the price is 3.99, and the 2nd coupon will have .01 overage? I can see me having a really hard time w/ this deal, but I would really like to do it. Is there any company policy out there to back me up if I argue it?

    • Adriane
I have only tried bogo with a bogo, will they say something since all of them will be free?
      Also, what is the limit?
      I would like to get 6 deals…
      Or maybe 3 and 3…

    • Derek

Elizabeth – all you have to do is ask the cashier to adjust the coupon down to $1.98. All cashiers are trained to do this, but some forget. You’ll just have to remind him/her. If not, just ask to speak to a manager and he/she will do it.

    • Nancy
I got 20 Starbucks for $4.99 with free shipping.
Worth it to me because I am going to be getting 21 free bottles (I have one Starbucks QP of my own).
I also am going to pay the tax with my ECB’s I have that rolled over.
So it’s like I am getting 21 bottles of Frappucino for $4.99 so it’s like they are $.24 a piece I guess you can say…
It just depends on how much you are willing to spend…
The person I bought from also sent me other Qp’s like Boutoni and such so I thought it was a great deal.
We love those Starbucks but I refuse to pay $2.00+ a piece for them!!

    • Oh I forgot to add that if I would have no coupons lets say they are $2.00 a bottle.
Buying 20 would be $40.00… So to me thats a good deal but not everyone thinks so…I am obsessed with coffee though :)

    • Amy in LA

I don’t think the CVS registers beep when the coupon is more than the product… do they? I can’t remember.

    • Amy in LA

And next week (August 2nd) there will be a Blink Tears moneymaker… $7.99 and get $7.99 ecb’s. Use this coupon here to make $1.50. http://www.yourhealthyeyes.com/ Print it now in case they don’t offer it anymore by the time the ad comes out!

    • Cecile

I don’t see the coupon for Arm & Hammer….it goes to the page but there isn’t a coupon for detergent. Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone know where it is?

    • Amy in LA

Cecile it’s the last one… with the dryer sheets. I think…. I couldn’t find it either at first!

    • Amy in LA

      Cecile… I just checked again for you. I think it’s gone. :(

    • Merrilee

I have a 24 hour store near me & they don’t start the deals until midnight Saturday night. I don’t shop on Sundays so I go Monday afternoon. I’m lucky, though, because the truck comes Monday morning so by the afternoon, most of the stuff is restocked. If they are out, my manager either gives me a substitute or a rain check.

    • Amy in LA

My 24 hour store waits to do the 3 day sale items until midnight too. We can get the other deals Saturday evening, but not those 3 day ones. I checked out one time at 11:56 p.m. on a Saturday night and they still had to manually do my ebcs… 4 minutes early!

    • Kelly

On the Neutrogena cosmetics…..since it is B1G1. If I use 2 coupons wont the second Q beep cause it’s free?? Or will they take 2 coupons?

    • lynn

on the bic pens i keep getting installcoupon printer i can print all other why cant i print this ahhh help please anyone

    • Cecile

Thanks Amy!! I really needed that coupons…guess that’s how the coupon game goes!!

    • Derek

Lynn – check the web address when it says to install printer. If you happen to see a vi, change it to a vg and hit enter. If it’s a vg, change it to a vi and hit enter. I know – totally confusing, but I found this solution on another website and I’ve run into the same problem and this seems to fix it. It also said that some addreses will use a wi and wg. If it’s a wi, change to wg and if it’s a wg, change to wi. I’ll look to see if I can find the exact posting and will post here.

    • lynn

thank you i will try that

    • lynn

you are wonderful thank you thank you i was able to change it and print it thank you

    • Derek

Ever run into a link that someone has posted that is the actual “bricks” URL (not the website it was extracted from) and you can’t print it? Wanna know why? It’s because they extracted it on a computer that was using an internet browser which is NOT the one you’re currently using.

      Can you fix that?
Apparently you can. There are two little letters inside a bricks URL that tell the bricks if you are on Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari on a Mac (like me). Most bloggers seem to be on PCs, so for me running into a coupon I want to print from someone’s blog link was always frustrating. Now, from tracking down comments on several blogs, I’ve figured out how to change the URL in my browser to be the one I want and VOILA I can print the coupon.

Internet Explorer on a PC Bricks:
      http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qekofot7951146&bt=wi&o=54287&ci=1&c=GM&p=8dH6Da9X

      http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qekofot7951146&bt=vi&o=54287&ci=1&c=GM&p=8dH6Da9X

      Firefox on a PC Bricks:
      http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qekofot7951146&bt=vg&o=54287&ci=1&c=GM&p=8dH6Da9X

      http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qekofot7951146&bt=wg&o=54287&ci=1&c=GM&p=8dH6Da9X

      Safari on a Mac Bricks:
      http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qekofot7951146&bt=xs&o=54287&ci=1&c=GM&p=8dH6Da9X

Find a link you can’t print, look at the url. Change those two letters (that I’ve identified in the above URL) to wi or vi for Internet Explorer, wg or vg for Firefox, and xs for Safari, and it should print. (For the either or choices, try one and if it doesn’t work try the other)

      **Jenny Here**
I already do this for you on most printables with a (IE) or (FF) link but thanks for posting for everyone how it works,

    • Kristie

Can someone please confirm.. I thought that on the 3 day sales they did not start until Sunday AM if it’s not a 24 hour store. Is this correct? Thanks!

    • rachel

I have a questions about the buy one get one free backpacks. I have a rain check from last week for $5 back per backpack purchased. Can I use this with the special this week of buy one get one free and get 5-10 ecb’s back (since I am getting 2 bpacks)or will the raincheck code override it.

    • Kristie,
I do believe that 3 day sales will not start early. The offers for three day sales are only good on Sun, Mon or Tues.

    • Amber

I have (1) $3 off 1 neutrogena, and (1) $3 off 2 neutrogena coupons. Can I use both of these in the first transaction of the grand plan???

    • Jenn

Rachel, my store will only allow you to use one of the specials. I haven’t heard of anyone around here being able to use two :(

    • Jenn

Amber, as long as you buy 3 Neutrogena products you can use all three coupons.

    • Jenn

Sorry Amber, meant to say buy three products, use 2 coupons.

    • Tarrah R.

I Keep meaning to ask this- If the Bayer Breeze, and Bayer Contour Meters are both on sale (Monthly deal-don’t see them listed this week) and you can make $5 ECB’s off of each- could you essentially make a total of $20 ECB’s because each has a limit of two deals? Or… if I’ve already gotten 2 deals for the Contour Meters, will I not get the ECB’s on the Breeze’s? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

    • My 24 hr CVS won’t print the ECBs until midnight Saturday, which is when I have been going. They also don’t put the signs out until early Sunday, so that tends to help me get stuff before it’s gone. But, yeah, these 3 day sales on the free-after-ECB school stuff are “intense”. The few times I’ve gone on Sunday most stuff is cleared out.

    • Jennifer P.

I got up early this morning and was excited about doing my couponing today. Well sad to say my bubble got busted each time I went into each store. CVS will only honor $16.00 on the $30.00 Bayer Contour/Breeze meters. After I got over that, everything I had planned to get they were out of. I don’t know what their problem is anymore….. I then went to the rest of the stores, (Walgreens, Ingles )the same thing happened there as well. None of the prices were right, and something happened in each store. Today was not a good coupon day for me…Oh well, I still got some deals. The stores I went into was in Seneca.

    • Carolyn

Tarra R., yes you can get 2 each of the Breeze and the Contour meters for a total of $20.00 EB’s during the month of July.

    • Leah

      Tarrah,
You get 2 Contour AND 2 Breeze. So if you have already gotten the Contour, you can get 2 of the Breeze and still get 5ea for them! hth

    • Derek

Can someone please explain to me the deal with the glucose meters? Why would you someone spend $30 just to get $5 ECB? Am I missing something? I have 4 local 24hr CVS stores in my area – upstate NY – and they ALWAYS have the meters, but I’m afraid to spend all that money for something when I only get a few ECB back. I’ve noticed other posts where people say they are getting them for FREE. Can you explain? Thank you. :-)

      • Jenny

        Derek,

There is a $30 off coupon for the meters so you really spend nothing and get $5 back if you have the coupon. Forgot to grab those from the past weeks deals, I’ll add it now.

    • Adele

If anyone has any extra Arm & Hammer Cat Litter printable coupons http://www.armandhammer.com/coupon.html they will not be using, please let me know. Thanks! Adele

    • Adriane

      Aymie,
As far as I know, you should be able to get all 3 Starbucks drinks for free without a problem. You can use a coupon on each individual item you’re buying (like using 2 coupons when you buy 2 boxes of cereal, but they are B1G1). So you should be able to use 3 coupons on 3 products. There won’t even be any overage, so the cashier shouldn’t even mention anything.
Also, I don’t see any mention of a limit…so you could probably stock up if you have enough coupons!

    • lynn

derek thank you so much for that ibfo i was able to print coupons now that in the past i was unable to what a life saver to know this

    • lynn

the bayer meter coupon says up to 30 dollars if the coupon had said 30 off then there would have been overage but up to means whatever the actual price is …Jenny i have not taken the time latly to say thank you and this week it seem you have been so much more busy than usualso big THANK YOU to you for you hours of hard work if sone one had told me a year ago that the price you see on the shelf at the store was a suggestion i would never had beleived them i use to hear how people would pay pennies on the dollar for things and now that you have shared that seceret i am so thankful on my little disiblity check we live better than people who have a 2 income house hold ……. my kids fit in at school cause they have the name brands and use some of the best products i am also able to send stuff to afghnastan to my sone in law all thanks to you god bless you

    • Derek,
There are manufactures coupons out there for the glucose meters making it zero out of pocket. Therefore you make $5 in ECBs. The coupons came out in March I believe or at least early this year.
      Hope that makes sense!

    • Jenny
I saw that Mentos gum is on sale for $1.00 a pack.
If I use that with the $.55 off coupon, it will make it $.45 each…
Do you think that is a good price or should I hold off??

    • Especially since if I buy 15 I will get the $5 ECB’s
      What do you think??

    • Jodi

      Derek,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting the fix for printing coupons.I have got very frustrated in the past when I really wanted a valueable coupon and it would not print.I used your tecnique on the Triumph pens and it worked.I am so happy I just want to give you a big hug (((((Derek)))))THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

    • Lenny I

I’m just getting started at CVS…I just picked up my extra care cards and I’m reading their info and it says that the extra bucks will print on your receipt every 3 months. This info is contradictory to what is posted above. Is the CVS pamphlet correct, or do we get our ECB right away?

      Thanks,

      A newbie

      **Jenny Here**
It is confusing but there are two types of ECB’s they are reffering to Quarterly ECB’s that print based on the total amount that you spend in the store. The weekly ECB’s do print automatically after you buy the select items.

    • Derek

Adele – I’m not going to use my Arm & Hammer clumping cat litter coupons. I have (2) $1 coupons.

    • mandie

Derek, I believe (but could be mistaken) that there is a $30.00 off Q that some are using. I don’t have the Q therefore cannot do the deal:(

    • Danielle

I am new to this! I have never really understood how the ECB’s work. Can someone please give me the newbie rundown!! I guess as a first time purchase you have to spend the money to earn the ECB’s and then from there on you can get all these free deals I see everyone posting about? Thanks!

    • Derek

Thanks everyone. I don’t have the coupon either but will keep my eye out for them in the future.

    • Anna

I stopped in CVS today (North Atlanta) and checked the prices on the Neutrogena items so that I could get my grand plan together and I discovered the cheapest Neutrogena item in my store is $7.99 (other than the 5.99 eye make up remover, not sure if this would work with the coupon since it says $3 off any cosmetic). Just beware when you’re getting your plan together that the Neutrogena deal may not be free depending on your store’s prices.

    • Angel

Derek, you rock! I tried several times to print the Bic Triumph coupon and kept getting the message that I needed to install the coupon printer (even though I have printed Bricks coupons many, many times before). Read your post, changed the two letters in the URL and voila – it worked. Thanks a bunch!

    • Sloan

I have never used a raincheck at cvs before, but would like to redeem one this week. Can you do the raincheck deal in the same transaction with current sale stuff, or do you have to do the raincheck deal in a seperate transaction? I have a $4/30 CVS Q that I would like to use too, and combining the raincheck with the current sales will be the least OOP for me.

    • nancy

      aymie
      Thank you for the information.

    • Amber

I am confused on the limits for the erasers, push pins, or binder clips. is it mix or match 2. Can I buy 2 of each for .99???

    • Derek

Amber – the limit is 2 from that category. You can buy either 2 erasers, 2 binder clips, 1 eraser and 1 binder clip, etc.

    • Adele

      Derek #68
Please let me know how to contact you. Thanks!

    • Derek

Adele – you can email me at rd674@yahoo.com.

    • Deb

Not only are the sale only 3 days, but when I went in to my local CVS last Sunday morning, the lady said the manager might come in that afternoon to put out the sale items. Might? AND, they don’t always get the specialty items (like the vinyl binder from last week).

      What’s up with that?

    • ShanR

      Adele,

I can print 6 of them (3 computers). Send me your address at couponlover18@yahoo.com and I’ll send them in the mail.

    • wvarner

I don’t usually go into CVS with a plan to purchase certain items to get the ECB’s just to turn around and go back into the store and do more shopping. I just highlight the things on the list that is provided here and get my coupons together and buy my stuff and get all the ECB’s at the end. I use these ECB’s on my next weeks purchase. Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing out on anything?

    • Tarrah R.

Yes, Thank you DEREK for the info on the coupon link- I was SO Stoked when I tried it and it worked! This has happened several times, and now I can rest in the fact that I can do something to change it.
I am amazed at how helpful EVERYONE on here is! To take the time out of your own day to help address someones (you do not even know) issues is so selfless and I want to commend everyone who does this for this!
Also, anyone interested in the Meter deals, this is what I did, and will do again for the second type meter- I went to my Local paper and bought the March 22nd issue (just $.10 more than if I had bought it that Sunday); They’ve said they could get me issues from up to a year ago. Was worth the $1.60 to me to make the $5 free ECBs! Just an idea. My Paper distribution is close, so it wasn’t a hassle for me at all. Good Luck! (P.S. check the paper before you pay for it to make sure it does indeed have the coupon, or you’d have wasted your money on all expired coupons- all but that one and some Onion fry thingies were expired)-(P.P.S.- grab FOUR if you do go to do this, then you can make all $20 ECB and get four Meters to bless people with- they are regularly $80.00- think how HAPPY you will make someone with this gift!)

    • david

hi ,, jenny i haven taken time to thank you lately, your so kind and considerate for helping so much not only for my sake but everyone else you have a great day.

    • Tracy

I’ve looked at the list 3 times & can’t find the B1G1 backpack deal mentioned in a comment. Please tell me where i can find that. Thanks!

    • Allison

I have (2) $3/1 Neutrogena Face Cosmetic and I was wondering what product I could buy with them. I know foundation would count, but most of the face cosmetics are well over $12 each. Does anyone know what specific face cosmetics are $6 or under?

    • Derek, tried the link and did it not work. Said it was over. thanks anyway

    • Kelly

On the second transaction in your grand plan…I am not getting the same math. Can you help me please? :)

    • I read the fine print on the Neutrogena coupon & it says one coupon per customer. Do you think this may cause me a problem in trying to use 2 of them on the B1G1? I guess only if they are being very, very picky…? The least expensive face item is $7.99 in my store.

    • Kathy

      Jenny:

      You said:
      “CVS 6×8 Photobooks B1G1 at $12.99
(if you have a raincheck from a few weeks ago this is a great week to use it!)”

I do have TWO rainchecks for 7.99 with 7.99 ECB, but tell me exactly how I am supposed to combine that with the BOGO this week? Won’t he raincheck override the current special?

      Kat

      • Jenny

        Kathy,

I confess that I am not quite sure how it will work. It depends on the cashier greatly.

From reading around it appears that if you buy 3 the first two would get adjusted with the raincheck and the third one would be free.

Or give them the photo books and let them ring them up at $12.99 for 2 and then let them enter the code to print the ECB for both giving you $14.98 in ECB for a $12.99 purchase.

    • tina

I’m not sure if anyone answered about the Mento’s gum…Bi-lo has it for .99cents therefore making it free.

    • Tina
Sadly there are no Bilo’s anywhere near where I live, I actually never even heard of them until I discovered this site.
I think I am going to buy 15 packs with my coupons, especially since I will make $5 in ECB’s and I am paying for them with previous ECB’s so its like free gum!!

    • I found a couple more deals. Check them here at http://thecouponhigh.blogspot.com/2009/07/cheap-or-free-at-cvs-starting-726.html. One in particular is a great deal on candy bars that qualify for the $5 ECB when you spend $15.

    • Kim

If CVS doesn’t the item that is on sale such as the vinyl binder from this week, then ask if they can substitute another brand similar object. My CVS sub’ed a $6.49 binder for the $3.00 binder and then she printed the ECB after the transaction was over. Can’t beat that!

    • Kim

      Previous post:

If CVS doesn’t have the item. . .

    • Taryn

      Aymie,

If you have a Harris Teeter nearby, Mentos often goes on sale there making it free with coupons. I also got it free at Walgreens recently.

      To Everyone:
I was able to shop early at my CVS this evening. My cashier was wonderful being that the manager forgot to switch to the sale prices before he left. She manually keyed everything and manually printed ECB’s (and was very trusting of my calculations).

As other have stated, the cheapest Neutrogena product in my store was 7.99, except for the 5.99 eye make up remover.

    • Anna

      Allison,

At my CVS there were no Neutrogena face cosmetics under $6. The closest items to $6 were priced at $7.99 (mascara, lip gloss/stick, and concealer), but if you have a 4/20 or 3/15 coupon this would be a great deal to use it with since you would off set the price of the make up and you could use some free items like the pens or starbucks drinks to get you to 15 or 20.

    • Taryn

      Aymie,

Mentos is free at Rite Aid this week.

    • Janet

It is ridulous that people are picking up coupon books at CVS and selling them on Ebay! Greedy greedy people!!!

    • Taryn
I dont have a rite aid or a Harris Teeter either.
I have Publix, Walgreens, CVS. Thats all.
      Stinks!

    • How are they free? Do they go on sale for $.55?? They dont double coupons here…

    • lynn

i thought it was illeagal to sell coupons ?

    • Tarrah R.

anyone else having trouble with the colgate total coupon print? Is there a letter I need to change in that address also? Thank you!

    • Lynn
Im not sure if its illegal to sell them or not, but most ads on ebay say that you are paying for their time to cut, sort, and ship.
      I dont know though.
I would feel too guilty selling them, but I guess I cant say anything cause I have bought coupons on there before…

    • Noel

I just went to cvs @10:45 and they would not let me get the school stuff or any of the free 3 day sale stuff early.Just to pass it on!!

    • Jodi

The BOGO on the Starbucks is the larger 13.7 oz bottle which is $2.69 each not $1.50 so there is no getting 3 free. This really sucks because I bought extra coupons just for this deal thinking they would be free.It works out to be 3 for $2.38 if you use 3 of the $1.00 coupons.I sure hope the small bottles go on sale somewhere.

    • lynn

well i am realy excited about all this free back to school stuff this week cant wait to start shopping just hope there is stuff left when i get there good luck every one

    • Kelly

I just got back from the CVS in Irmo (lake murray blvd) and I am FURIOUS!!!! The cashier wouldnt let me use more than one coupon per transaction of the same item. ex 3 Kashi Q on 3 Kashi items. So beware! I have contacted CVS customer service on this issue. Just wanted to give a heads up for others.
Jenny have you ever had this problem?

      **Jenny Here**
      Kelly,

I’ve never had problems in that store but usually don’t go at night. If they give you a hassle again drive up to the one in Ballentine they are great.

    • lynn

i had thiss problem the other week at publix when it was 50 percent off the said only one coupon per transaction hmm

    • Just got back from CVS. I’m not sure if they had not stocked their shelves yet but already I got the last 2 eraser packs and index card cases. Still, I managed to get all the school supply deals which was great.

My CVS also only had $7.99 cosmetics as the cheapest Neutrogena item, but they didn’t give me trouble using 2 coups (for the person who asked abt the “1 per person” writing on them).

I got there closer to 12:30ish this time and they were JUST starting to do the ECB tags but I still had to hunt for most everything using my list. I figured this method would burn me eventually (just a little) and it did. On my last trans I did the Kashi deal and tampons. I got home and saw that I had snagged a box of GoLean cereal, TLC bars, and a box of honey almond bars that was right next to the TLC bars. The Honey Almonds aren’t part of the deal! So, I’ll have to go back and see if I can swap them for a participating item OR just buy 1 more to get my $5 ECB.

Can’t complain; on my 2nd trans the cashier actually allowed me to end up with a NEGATIVE $0.04 balance…? And I paid for the 1st and 3rd transactions with my $25 prescrip transfer gift card (total spent abt $9).

    • Just got back from cvs, got all the school supplies except the pencil/index card case and neutrogena. My original total was $24.66 and I was going to get 1 mentos so I could use my $5/$25. I ended up with $17.66 so I had to get 3 mentos and us my $4/$20. After coupons and ecbs I was negative so I grabbed a Reeses. OOP was $.62 for 17 items. In the morning I will get makeup and case else along with the remainder of the mars deal.

    • Sorry u had a bad time Kelly :( the cashiers and managers at the 3 local stores here are very nice and helpful. I had 17 items, 3 ecbs, and 7 Qs. He was very excited when my grand total was -$.06.

    • Kelly

I’m really upsest. I spent so much time to make the plan work for me and it’s just very frustrating! Hopefully CVS will compensate.

    • Samantha

Does anybody know if you can use the Shick Quattro home mailer coupon in conjunction with a manufacturer coupon? It would make it a great deal.

    • Tarrah R.

Jodi- If you have a Publix, you can print out those $2 coupons (for starbucks coffee) from either Harvey’s or Food Lion (i forget which), and then use your $1 coup. It will make it around $3 and change for a four pack case of them. I don’t know if this would be your best deal, or even a better deal, but I wanted to throw it out there for you because Publix (USUALLY) accepts those competitor coupons. There is no sale on the starbucks yet, though. But the $2/off’s expire the 4th, so it’s up to you to wait or just do it now. Good Luck!

    • Tarrah R.

Anyone getting this message on the toothpaste?

*We are not able to support coupon printing on your system at this time. The Coupon Print Activator is supported on Windows Operating Systems 2000, ME, XP and Vista when used with Internet Explorer Explorer 6.x and 7.x, or Firefox 2.x and 3.x. Coupon printing is not supported under Linux, Unix or Web TV platforms. Please try again from a machine that meets these requirements.*
Anyone have an idea how I can fix this one? Thank you, GOd Bless!

    • Derek

Tarrah, I had this problem a few weeks ago. I use both IE and Firefox. I had no problems with IE; however, I discovered that I had the downloaded the most recent version of Firefox. It’s a simple solution. Uninstall your current Firefox, if you have it installed, and install version 3.0.1 from the following address http://www.soft32.com/download_81650.html. This worked for me. I hope this helps.

    • I didnt see on here that Garnier Fructis is on sale for $2.99. Use that with the insert for $1.00, makes it $1.99 each for a full size bottle.

    • ET

The least expensive Neutrogena make-up I could find at our CVS was $7.99 for lip gloss. The eye make-up remover was $5.99 and was included in the B1G1 sale but I didn’t check to see if it would work with the coupon. I was able to use 2 coupons on the 2 tubes of lip gloss so I got them for $1 each which to me is not a bad price at all!

    • Meagan

Drat! Missed out on printing the Bic coupons and now they only have $1/2. Oh well. Live and learn!

    • Jennifer

Went to the CVS in Lyman at 8:15 and they were already out of the Erasers, Pencil cases, index cases, and staplers…why are the stores not stocking more of these items? There next shipment isn’t until Thursday(after the sale)..so they are going to have a lot of disappointed customers!!

    • lynn

did you update tp google chrome or did you update to internet explore 8 when i did that i was unablr to print had to uninstalol both just an idea

    • Heather

I am bummed that there was no Shick intuition coupons in my SS for today. I was really counting on getting those :(

    • Lin

I have a question. If I want to return the items that have ECBs, will I get back the ECBs applied for previous purchase???

    • Gwen

      I have a question, I am new.

Can I buy the school products, copy paper, etc. to receive $30.00 dollars in ECB’s. Turn around and buy $50.00 dollars of Olay Products and use any coupons I may have for those items and pay with my $30.00 ECB’s and still be able to qualify for Olay rebate?

    • Jane

Sorry if discussed before, but I don’t understand the math.
I always get taxed before the coupon amount.
The other day, my total was $4.00 and I used $4.00 ECB.
      I was expecting $0.00, but I was charged $.25(tax for $4.00).
Is there any way to make my due $0.00?

      Jenny,
Thank you for your work on this site!

    • I am very upset, more so disappointed. Hubby and I were kid free last evening so he agreed to go to the 24hr CVS with me (I usually go Sunday morning) so we could sleep in together on Sunday. When we arrived at 12:05am. There were two ladies with printed southernsavers list checking out, I always greet fellow couponers and tend to ask if they our southernsaver girls (WE all *heart* Jenny). I then proceeded to get my items…there are NONE left of many items, no erasers, no pencil or card holders, no puch pins, no clips, etc…I ask the shift manager (who was great) to help, he came over and showed me where the items would have been if there were any left…He then informed me that the 2 ladies that I saw at checkout had THREE!!!! CVS cards a piece and come in every Saturday at 11:30p.m. and have been clearing out almost all of the school supplies. I am seriously sad..it just seems so rude, greedy, disrespectful, and wrong… Thank you for listening and I am thankful that the majority of us have coupon etiquette and also realize that there are many others beside ourselves that need to save money.

    • Amy in LA

#123 Cindy – are you in LA by any chance?? I went with my husband last night at 11 p.m. and most of the school supplies were cleared out. I complained to the manager and he started “well… there’s these 2 sisters that come in…” I already knew who he was talking about because I’ve seen them there before. They are there almost every time I go. And they have multiple cards and take EVERYTHING! Well last night I found out that the ladies went earlier, put their things in a basket, and the cashiers held it for them until they came back at 11:30. I couldn’t believe it! And sure enough, as we were checking out, they walked in!

    • Jodi

      Tarrah R.
Unfotunately we don’t have Harveys or Food Lion anywhere near by so they don’t except these because they are not actually competitor’s. Also my Publix will not take more than one coupon per item. I did see Walgreen’s has them 4/$5 this week which makes them a quarter.

    • Amy in La…

I guess there are greedy sisters on both the East and West coast …hahahaha. I am in Orlando. Thank you for letting me know that I am not alone:)

    • Sloan

I also had a bad experience at CVS today. The cashier was in a hurry (even though there was no one else waiting to check out when I walked up). He refused to take a coupon for dental picks because it wouldnt scan. I showed him that it was for the correct item and it was in date and he still wouldn’t take it. Then I wanted to use a raincheck and he told me that I couldn’t get the ECB from the rain check deal ($20 worth) since the sale was over. He then kept the sale ad that I had saved to go with the rain check. I was so flustered that I didn’t ask to keep it. I went to a CVS across town and got my raincheck stuff, but the cashier was also huffy that she had to price modify everything and manually print ECB, and there were no other customers in site. Ugh! (Still haven’t seen the new coupon booklets, either)

    • Jane

My CVS always charges the tax before the coupon. (I bought $4.00 with 4.00 ECBs and then still charged me $.25 tax.)This way, I never get $.02 or even $0.00 total.. Is there any way to avoid this situation?

    • lynn

i am in npr florida and we have the same problem here also just keep getting rain checks on what i can i have had rain checks then they never restock the item so hit or miss on that but the cashies are wonderful

    • Well the stores in my area do not carry neutrogena cosmetics, but they had everything else…I went to fayetteville, and the manager there has a table with school items on it as you walk in.
***FYI The cashier informed me they were getting ready to put out more stuff they had gotten in, in case any of you are in the area, but they are out of the mentos, i needed seven and the cashier had to search under the register for me, so I got the absolute last one.

    • Michelle

Just came back from CVS was imformed by cashier they will not do mutiple transactions with one cvs card. She stated this was a coprate decision because they feel that it is fraud going and also she said that cashiers had been fired due to the problem. She said they idea of extra bucks is to buy everything then save all the extra bucks for your next visit. Has anyone else had this problem. Also can they limit daily card transactions?

    • Freedom

Well, first time going to CVS, only school supply item they had left were 2 packs of the pilot pens. grabbed those. Beware on the Kashi, i got 2 boxes of cereal and 1 box of the TLC bars, bars rang up $4.89 and did not count towards the 3/$10 deal nor the $5 bucks. She would not override it. So I am going to have to call the 800 number tomorrow.

    • Just a warning to those in SC. I went today to get the Kashi deal (3/$10) and the register was not scanning anything at the 3/$10 deal except the cereal. It took a few minutes to figure out that it WAS their register and NOT my interpretation of the ad. The store manager had to print out my $5 ECB separately to compensate and also refund the higher price (the TLC bars rang up as $4 something instead of #3.33/4). They told me it would be a corporate issue since they don’t program the registers, but they were super nice and compensated me fully. :)

    • Susan

I went to CVS this am, about 15 minutes after they opened. I got all the school supplies, the Kashi bars, the copy paper and a few other things on my list. Started with $4.98 in ECB’s, and my MQ’s, bought around $35.00, OOP $5.40, and have $5.00 ECB’s for next week. The cashier was very helpful and pleasent, let me roll my ECB’s 4 times and never even rolled her eyes. I had a great time at CVS today. Hope it’s the same next week, LOL.

Thank You Jenny, for showing me how to make a buck go along way!

    • Regina

      To Michelle:

I went to CVS today and had no problem do multiple transactions. There was no one behind me in line and the cashier was excited for me to save so much money. She kept talking about what a great idea it was to do it that way. I do not believe that it was a corporate decision. I may have been a district decision. How can it be fraud? That is crazy!

    • Mandy

I went to CVS this mroning and bought two boxes of Kashi bars and since they were out of Kashi cereal, I bought the Kelloggs Heart start instead. All three items said buy 3/$10 and get $5 ECB, but the $5 ECB did not ring up.

I looked at the ad and it does not say I had to have all Kashi or all Kelloggs, so I’m confused. Should I have received the $5 ECB with those 3 items?

    • Bethany

My Top 5 – I too had issues in GA with the Kashi deal. The Kashi Trail Mix bars rang up correctly, but the Honey Almond rang up at $4.49, so it messed up the 3/10 deal and my ECB did not print up. Luckily the cashier was very helpful and printed them off manually for us.

    • Alissabeth

I found Neutrogena makeup remover for 5.99 in Wetumpka. That was the cheapest…next was 7.99 for the lip gloss sticks or tubes. Good thing I had 2/$3 and then the ones from today. It worked well into my scenarios since some of the .99 items were out of stock already.

    • Lori

      EVERYONE-
ask for rainchecks on the free ECB items that are out of stock even if its a 3 day sale. My CVS every week has offered me them without asking, they state they have been running out on sun or mon but generally get more in by the end of the week. The store mgr said she wish they just send more to begin with but that’s corp for ya! ;) Lots the of the things on sale this week are items they carry year round so you could hold on to them for awhile!

    • Lori

      Michelle #130,
Go to another CVS near you I have 2 store within a few miles of each other. One store is GREAT and the other..well let’s just say I’ve called corp 3 times and spoke to the DM all in the last 4 months! I hate that store and only go as a back up, haven’t been back since the last call to the DM (who was very nice) but hope if I have to go back things will be different.
Get to know the mgrs and cashiers as a reg. and they will be more helpful. My cashiers look forward to seeing how much I’ll save each trip and actually will agrue who gets to ring me up! haha Hope you have better luck!

    • Michelle

Thanks for the suggestion but there aren’t any other stores in the area (the closest next store is about 25 min away) I think I wil speak with the DM and see if he could be of any help. I know I am not the only one with the problem because she did the same thing to women infront of me. I do have to say the cashier did allow 3 transactions so I did get most of the deals. Thanks again

    • Starbucks deal at my store was not ringing up.
Had the manager manually make it work. She was very sweet. Prices were not $1.50 each, they were $2.09 each, she wouldn’t adjust price since there was no proof in flyer that it was that price.
Still got 21 bottles of Starbucks, 2 shampoos, 2 conditioners, 15 Mentos gum, and 4 newpapers for $10.67 OOP.

    • Jodi

      Lynn,
I am also in New Port Richey, Fl.I shop at the 24 hr CVS on Ridge & Rowan and able to get the deals at midnight on saturday. There is also a 24 hr one in Holiday at Darlington & U.S. 19.The Publix on Little road at River Crossing is great about coupons and never had a problem there.Nice to see someone from the same town.

    • Wow; wish I’d read some of these before stopping at another CVS today. I also had the Honey Almond TLC bars ring up at $4.49 and NOT show as part of the Kashi deal, so I stopped at another CVS this am, bought a cereal, and the ECBs printed… Sooo, I already have the deal completed, but can I return the Honey Almond? What would you do?

    • Samantha

Just wanted to let everyone know if you already don’t; The $4 off $20 email coupons work for anyone’s card. My friend gave me hers a few weeks ago and I did the same thing today and they work.

    • Teresa-QOCD

They have not begun to distribute the “coupon booklets”. The coupons are not good until August 2nd.

    • Jenn

Had the same problem with the Kashi. I called customer service this morning as the shift manager refused to print out the $5 ECB’s. The ad does not say you have to buy the Kashi items that are listed as 3/$10.00. It simply says spend $10.00 and my 6 ct. bars are parto f the list below, so they should count. I’m supposed to hear back tomorrow whether these are included in the deal or not.

    • lynn

Jodi hi i shop just up the road from you at the ridge and decublis store and the 52 and little road the cashiers are awsome at the store they just sell out with in the first few hours i did not know we could shop early here thanks for the heads up on that …. i wonder though would you mind telling me where is the best publix to shop ridge and decublis are not coupon friendly at all so if you have any suggestions on that i would be greatfull nice to know iam not alone here in npr happy couponing

    • lynn

oh i reread your post they give me trouble there everytime i go and will not let me use manf. and store coupons together hmm

    • Heather

      wvarner #82

I also buy everything in one trip if I have enough ECBs. It’s often difficult to plan more than one “trip” through the checkout when I never know what my CVS store will and won’t have left on the shelves when I get there Monday morning. It always works out for me. I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than a dollar!

      Thanks again to Jenny!

    • Parker

Does anyone know if the CLINTON SC store has any of the school supplies left?

    • Jennie

I bought the copy paper that was on the 3-day sale..which was GREAT!! But..I bought 4 of them (the limit) in one transaction which leaves me with a $10 ECB. I should have split it into 2 transactions and gotten back 2 $5 ECBs. My ECBs would have gone alot further! Hopefully this will prevent someone else from doing this same thing!

    • Jodi

      Lynn,
The Publix I mentioned before at River Crossing has never given me any trouble in fact I went there today and bought 4 of the Starkist Seasations BOGO and used 4 $3.00 off coupons. The cashier gave me back 2 cents.Little road and Foxhollow I never have a problem with either.
The Publix on Ridge(near Regency) I have had a few problems especially if the coupon says one per person.Maybe I will see you shopping someday.Like I said,I am always at the CVS Ridge and Rowan at midnight saturdays.

    • lynn

think i will check that one out… do you have any trouble using the manf and store coupons together? i also had no problem with the starkist couponsm they dont mind giving overage the only real problem is like i said store and manf coupons together …

    • Jodi

I have actually never tried using the 2 together, I didn’t think we could in Fl.And I never see any good Publix coupons I things I need.

    • CVS is my new favorite store! Got 2 photobooks for FREE!!!!

    • Teresa-QOCD

      To #157
Clinton SC had composition notebooks, pushpins, erasers, and copy paper.
NO pens, pencil boxes, staplers, as of about 6:00 Monday.

    • Elaine

I went to the CVS in Hartsville, SC today, there was no Neutugena under $7.99, so I left that there, but I did finally did get to purchase a notebook and pens for .99 each and get the ECB’s back. Then I bought the Herbal Essence with a B1G1 and a $1 off coupon and used a $1.99 ECB so all I had to do was pay the.32 tax and got $1 ECB back. Then I got the $8.99 Colgate Whisp, I used $6.89 in ECBs paid $2.01 oop received $2 ECB and a $5 off a $25 purchase . And the cashier was pretty patient and I thanked her for it. A good day at CVS.

    • nancy

I had a great time at cvs and it really depends on the cashier. I also did the cereal and bought the bars. I did not realize. until looking at the ticket I bought another. Only spent 1.20 oop all together. and got a rain check for school supplies.

    • Tarrah R.

My Cashier at CVS told me that she would allow me to get two photobooks @ $7.99 BOGO plus get the $7.99 ecb’s for my raincheck! WOOHOO! I have a raincheck for four! SO i should get 8 photobooks for FREE… (if she decides to print out $7.99 for each photobook, also… I won’t complain! *L*)

    • pamela

I am still trying to get the hang of couponing at CVS. The CVS’s in Columbia are always out of everything on sale, so I have thought about giving up. I was wanting to know what I do when I get a raincheck for an item, but the coupon runs out before I can redeem the raincheck? I have a coupon for the Quattro razors, but it expires July 31st. I know they will not have them in stock by then. Help!!

    • Melissa

Have a question. I am new to this coupon stuff what is the 2% of your Spring 2009 Spend will be issued on July 1st. Rewards are redeemable in-store and online. What does that mean. I went online was just looking around and logged onto my account and found that with a $77.33 was i supposed to do something?

      Thanks Love your website
      Melissa/PA

    • Kelly

Went to the CVS in Knightsville (Summerville area SC) this evening and they say that no CVS’s are allowed to accept the $30 coupon for the glucose meters. The store circular says no other “deal” and they count the coupon as a deal. So you can only use the coupon on them when they are full price. So that kinda messed up my plan. However, I still received rain checks for all the 3 day sale items that they were out of and overall since last week I’ve spen $20 and received over $100 worth of merchandise. Not bad, I suppose.

    • lynn

jodi have you seen the new coupon books in our area yet /

    • Bobbie

Post # 127 & #133. I was at CVS today and made four purchases of .99 each for a total of 3.96 and gave two 1.98 ecb’s. I had to pay .40 tax even though is was and even amount for ecb’s and purchases. The tax here is 10%. I read on another site that CVS is going to start charging tax so I guess it’s already started.
Jenny have you heard anything in regards to this?
      Thanks.

    • AJ

about the tax…. yea I noticed that sometimes I can’t figure out what I’m getting taxed for. I emailed CVS about it and basically you are taxed on the items you use the manufacturer coupons for. The CVS bucks for more of the recent school supplies will show as a manufacturer coupon instead of a CVS coupon, and that’s why you still get taxed…

    • Damien Barber

Do you split your 3 purchases into 3 separate purchases on the same visit, or do you have to return the next day?

I would really like to take full advantage of those extra bucks. I made my first CVS purchase the other day of just under $20 (though 6.99 will be gotten back in a rebate as my wife saw a hair product that was free after a rebate), and I got $6 in Extra Bucks.

I have never shopped at WalGreens, CVS, and Rite-Aid because I always thought, “Oh you will wind up paying way more than the grocery store,” so i am stoked to find all these great deals… especially at CVS witht he EB.

    • Jodi

      Lynn,
Not yet but you do have to ask the pharmacy.I have to run by one today for another great deal.I’ll post if I get any books.

    • New At This

I agree with the poster who said it’s all about the cashier you get at CVS. Last time I went the guy (who has obviously gotten used to seeing me there) asked before I said anything if this was going to be multiple transactions, then he complimented my coupon organization system and gave me a “tip” about which coupons to use first (of course, I already knew thanks to Jenny!). I left paying $.56 for $30 worth of stuff and a big grin from the customer service!

    • lynn

jodi the raise your hand for savinds is at publix hope you got yours if mot go get one before its gone

    • I am so glad the cashiers at the Spring Hill Tenn store are coupon friendly! The manager has been ordering extra’s on the school supplies so I’ve gone in as late as noon and still found some. But our store never got any more glue in for the BOGO sale, and there are still rainchecks out there for the same item. I was told that some of the BOGO’s will come on sale again.

I am still horrified by the people who are so bold about having multiple cards – unethical. And Jenny, what you do here is such a blessing and has helped so many people. I hope that those CVS abusers don’t hurt your reputation by carrying around lists with your site name on it – you are so honest and upright that it’s not fair to you! If you greedy girls are reading this, at least delete Southern Savers from your lists and keep the name to yourselves so stores don’t think that Jenny is teaching you how to abuse a good thing.

    • Bobbie

Post #173 No, sorry I wasen’t clear. I purchased 4 items at 99cents each and had eb’s to cover the exact amount of one purchase. Had to pay 10% sales tax.

    • lynn

Minimidgmom i am sure you comments were not ment to inflame or insult anyone and i am sure you find no issue with a husband and wife each having there own cards or that your comments were not ment towards any one with alarge family who could benifit by 2 cards ….. perhapps you might have issue with some one who uses the multi cards to get free stuff to resell it as a business …perhapps we can all learn to say things with out insulting each other .. we cant possibly know what each persons need are i know people who use more than one card so they can donate .. i personaly would rather get a rain check than to begrudge one of the deals they are getting at cvs i personal have found the people who come on here to be some of the most wonderful helpful careing people i have seen people reach out to people they dont know in so many diffrent ways ..i wo0uld not want to personal insult anyone or to tell them how to shop for there family happr couponig with kidness to all ….least you walk a mile in some one eles shoes

    • Jennifer

Has anybody been able to find the binders that were free two weeks ago at any of the CVS’s in Greenville or Spartanburg SC? I still have a raincheck for them and I don’t think they stock them anywhere!!

    • lynn

check your email got a 4 off of 20 today

    • lynn

will work great with new sale

    • Kellyann

Did everyone receive their CVS email with the $3 off $15 purchase? Also there’s going to be printed on your first receipt in August a FREE item (with a one week expiration date) for being a card member. So this would be a great time for all you newbies to get your card.

    • Hey I used the norelco from a couple months ago for the NOrelco trimmer and it ended up being $4…I used the other $20 one at Target and got the same trimmer free. So I have two trimmers for someone for Christmas…

    • The Pharmacy said the only way to get the coupon books is to sign up for AUTOFILL.

    • AJ

      Bobbie,

I know what you’re saying.. Check your receipt to see if it came up as CVS manufacturer coupon. When I bought the paper fillers using CVS bucks i received from buying notebooks or something, I was taxed because it was a so-called manufacturer coupon (the ecb).

    • lynn

travis whichcoupon did you use there were 3 of them … i would love to get this deal thanks for sharing

    • Erin

      Travise #185

Really? My pharmacist gave me one no questions. She did look at me funny and say “They aren’t valid yet.” But I just asked if I could have one anyway. Maybe they’ve already been asked for so many at your CVS that they want to “protect” the ones they have left?? I’d try again at another CVS if you can. The booklet does say “ASK about Autofill”

    • Erin

Damien #173 – I always do all my transactions in one visit – whether I have 3, 4, whatever. My CVS expects shoppers like me, especially on Sundays and are very helpful (reminding me to keep my CVS card out for all the transactions, etc.) Hope that helps! Happy Shopping.
