    • angela

I found a tearpad for the bayer crystals at the register at cvs last week.

    • bummed

      Bayers limit reached.

    • Michael

Thanks for all the great information. Do you really think it’s right to advocate the use of the Bayer crystals coupon when the coupon specifically states it’s to be used for a 10 count? Normally you have some of the best information to get great deals but that’s just wrong. Even saying “technically” for a 10 count confuses newbies who think it’s ok to use coupons for things they aren’t supposed to be used on. I don’t mean any offense by that but I really thought your site promoted the ethical use of coupons.

      • Jenny

        Michael,

I will change the wording. I added it to the list to save the tons of comments and emails pointing out the coupon. I just wanted folks to notice off the start that it doesn’t work. I didn’t use it in any of the deals below either. Sorry for poor wording.

    • Christie

watch your email account for a CVS Mother’s day $5 off any purchase printable coupon! Mine came yesterday.

    • Brandy

Just wondering…anytime a product giving back ECB’s has a limit of more than one, will you get ECB’s back for all of them up to the limit if you buy them in one transaction?

    • Christie

FYI – coupon only good through Sunday 5/10

    • Mary

      Brandy,

You will get the ECB’s up to the limit. You do not have to buy them all in one transaction.

To add to this, At the bottom of your receipt is a running total of how much you have accumulated toward the ECB.

For example… on the vitamin waters last week, I goofed and only bought 18.15 towards my 20.00. So, I went back the next next day and bought 2 more and got my 10 ECB’s.

Basically what the limit says is CVS is only going to give you the ECB’s for the product bought up to the limit but no more. IT canbe done in more than one transaction, But only up to the limit.

      Hope this helps~

    • Brandy

VERY helpful…thanks! I have always bought them in separate transactions because I wasn’t sure if I’d get the ECB’s for both if I bought them together.

    • Heather

The picture of the Whitestrips in the ad scan says Whitestrips “Classic.” The coupon I have says “$5 off any one Crest Whitestrips Premium, Pro Effects, Daily Whitening, Multicare or Daily Whitening + Tartar Protection (excluding Classic).” Does that mean we can’t use this coupon or was it referring to the + Tartar Protection Classic kind? I’m kind of confused since I’ve never bought these (but want to!) Thanks for any input!

    • RWTH

Just a generic question. For example see this deal idea below: I am new to all of this cvsing, does this mean that you have bought atleast 5 sunday papers with 5 sets of SS Q’s, to get this deal idea of using (5) -$1 off coupons SS 4/26??

      **Deal Idea**
Buy: (5) Adult Toothbrushes at $1.99 (pick one slightly more than $1.99)
      Use: (5) -$1 off coupons SS 4/26
      Total Due: $5
Get: $5, makes them all FREE

      • Jenny

        RWTH,

It does mean that you have 5 of that coupon. Whether you buy 5 papers or maybe get some from friends and family or buy the ones you want more of, thats up to you. I personally only have 3 of this coupon, but many do have lots of papers.

    • Shannon N.

remember for the Skin Effects deal, there is the $2/1 CVS Q from the RIB Magazine (can only be used once per transaction though)

    • Penny

Employees at Central Florida CVS have told me they accept expired CVS coupons. I’ve tried it out a few times just handing the coupon to them and they push it right through. This may be a YMMV.

    • tonya

my ss 4/26 coupon is for “max white or max fresh toothPASTE” not toothBRUSH. a lot of my coupons don’t match what you guys have on a weekly basis.

      • Jenny

        Tonya,
In my insert the backside of the page with the toothpaste has the toothbrush coupon on it. What area are you in?

    • Julie

I was wondering what you do with all the glucose meters. We are not diabetic and don’t use them. I love to save money and/or make money but I don’t usually buy things I will not use. Do you know of anywhere that might take them as a donation or of any other creative uses? Thanks for all the great deal ideas – I check your blog daily!!

    • lynn

jenny the coke dael with the extra care bucks spend 20.00 get 10.00 ecb is that only this week or that a month deal? thanks hope you have a better day today

    • Melanie

      Jenny,

Are the monthly ECB deals gone for good?

    • tonya

      jenny,

i’m in montgomery al. the next page has 2 coupons for the wisp but no toothbrush coupon.

    • lynn

she didnt advocate or imply using it for that that all she said was there is a coupon and it is for the larger amount ……..

    • Heather

Ok, I have a sad story to tell. I was in CVS a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to get a couple of meters for the wonderful ECB. I walked up and starting to look for the particular one. There was a eldery woman there looking for the same thing. There was one left and she was reading to back of the packaging. I asked if that was the last one and she said yes. She continued to say she was “blessed today” because they were always gone. She says people swoop in and buy all of them for the free ECB and rebates, but have no intention on using them. She said they never consider the people like her, elderly and on a budget.
I felt HORRIBLE! I was one of those people! Yes, I donate them, but those only go to a select few. The guilt was intense. I’ll never do that again!

    • lynn

jukie a homeless shelter would take them

    • Jennifer

I have donated my meters to a local battered women’s shelter. Some leave in the dead of night with just the clothes on their backs so I figured eventually someone there would be able to use them.

Jenny I really wish eveyone would be nicer to you. I understood the wording. I am sure that if you hadn’t put that you would have gotten 100 emails telling you that there was a coupon out there.

    • KL

Do you have to have a prescription for the meters? Thanks!

      • Jenny

        KL,

You do not need a prescription, they are kept out on the regular shelves and anyone can buy.

    • Leslie

Does anyone know if the Huggies are just the one’s listed (snug and dry) or if the natural fit are on sale also? thanks!

Also, I was in CVS last week and scanned my card at their in store price check/coupon machine and got a $10 of $50…goes great with the meter deal!

    • Sabrina

Anyone know if the Scott Paper towels include the Scott Naturals?? Those are the only ones I have coupons for!? :(

    • Jodie

Jenny (or anyone who can answer),

My CVS says they only accept 1 internet-printed coupon. Is this true in most stores or is it just mine?

I tried the aveeno shampoo deal idea with 4 internet-printed coupons and the manager would only take one. I was pretty disappointed.

      Thanks!

    • Beth

I also didn’t have the scott towel coupon from 5/3

    • Walgreens Bayer displays (for their monthly Bayer crystals deal) have $1/1 coupons fr the smaller size. :)

    • oh, and also- check your emails! I got a $5/30 purchase “in honor of mother’s day” good through Sunday.

    • Brandi

OK-tell me if this will work…I htink it is a GDA!
Schick ST disposables are on sale for B1G1 1/2 off
Use B1G1 Free coupon Exp. 5/17/09 (not sure which insert it came from)
Use $3 off MC from May All You
      PSA $6.99
      $6.99 + $6.99 = $13.98
CVS gives you 1/2 off the 2nd bag ($3.50)
Use B1G1 free coupon (takes off $6.99)
      Use $3 off MC ($3)
      Making total .49¢

Since the B1G1 free coupon is only attached to the FREE item, can’t we still use the $3 MC for the other item? If so WooHoo for us! (Good filler item!)

      • Jenny

        Brandi,

That deal looks great. I’ll add it to the top.

    • Toni

I need one of the blood sugar monitors. Does anyone know where I can print a coupon to at least get some money off of one? Yeah it would be nice to get it for free but since I dont have the coupon I will take what I can get.

    • Beth

Quick comment on the meters…my mother in law is diabetic and I was going to give her the 2 meters. She doesn’t need them because she has been given several by the companies. Appartently as soon as they know you are diabetic they start giving away tons of free ones so that you will buy the strips to go with them. Also the physicians, hospitals and pharmacies give away certain ones. I will still do the deal and still drop them by our free clinic; I used to volunteer there and they LOVE things like this for the “working poor”!

    • Brandi

For those of you who printed the Bayer for the 10 ct. or larger (the ones you can’t use for this deal) hang onto them, they will be B1G1 free next week at CVS…I think the PSA $5.99

    • Brandi

so u think the razor deal will work?

    • momtaylor37

You will just have to pay tax on the item you are using the BOGO coupon for.

The Crest deal lists get $5 ECB, makis it .49. I think you mean 2 right?

    • momtaylor37

The ad shows Schick Slim Twin or Extreme 3. Don’t know that the ST3 will be included…hopefully it will though because I want to use my BOGO and $3 MQ! I have two sets of those! So 4 packs could be really cheap!

    • Erica

When I was in CVS today, I saw in the baby section that they had a deal that said if you spent $25 in participating products (like Huggies) you’d get $10 in extra bucks. Has anyone else seen this? It said the offer was good through the 11 of May.

    • Jen

      Jenny-

Have you seen that iheartcvs website? You can print off $4/20, etc. coupons there. I’m wondering – are they legit? I don’t want to waste the ink and go through the embarrassment of trying to use a bad coupon.

    • Brandy

Is it Rice Krispies cereal or treats on sale above?

    • Brooke

If you buy 2-4 different types of Scott products between now and May 23rd, you can get 2-4 dollars back in coupons.
      http://www.scottcommonsense.com/coupon/

    • Brandi

      TO MOMTAYLOR37:
The ad shows a picture of the Schick ST, so I a massuming that it will work. I am going at 6 tonight to try my deals, I will let you all know what works and what doesn’t…also on of my big deals I want to see works is the Vickery & Clark products. I keep seeing where the lipbalm is included and starts at $3.xx, but at my store the lip blam is $1.73, and I have a tone of $1 CVS coupons for V&C…I could buy:
      12 Lip Balms @ $1.73
      Total $20.76
      Use 12 $1 coupons
Total after coupons would be $8.76
      Get back $10 ECB’s
      WooHoo! Hope it works!
I will try splitting the transaction up, b/c my CVS will let me use a few at a time of the CVS RIB coupons that are duplicate.
I think I will just try and buy one today, see if it shows up at the bottom of my CRT that it went towards the deal.

    • Brandi

Just got back from CVS and the razor deal worked…sort of
Our prices wer already set for tomorrows sale at 2:00 today!

I was able to use the B1G1 Free coupon
      Schick sale price B1G1 1/2 Price (1x 6.99 & 1x 3.49)
      Used B1G1 Free -$6.99
Tried to use the $3 off but it was for the ST3, not the ST, so it beeped…I had a $2 MC from todays paper with me that DID work!
So My total for 2 packs of razors was $1.49 – the packs I got were bonus packs that came with 2 extra (so it was a 12 ct)

Not the best…but an OK deal.
I also got the 2 meters (no problem) and got the 10 ECB’s back
      Bayer Crystals -used $1 MC-Got $2 ECB

They did not have the Schick trimmer razor for the ECB deal, they have never had them. So I will try another CVS later.
I also got my daughter 2 pair of flip flops B1G1 free @ $2.99 and some CVS brand nail polish remover and cotton balls, and candy for the kids.
      Total came to $12.xx – Used 10 ECB’s, OOP $2.xx – Got back $12 in ECB…
So I broke even…not happy that they did not have my razors!

    • Brandi

Oh yeah, their computer was not set yet to do the Vickery & Clark deal yet…so I opted to wait till Monday to do the V&C on the lip balm and try it.

    • mary

I just went to CVS and the cashier told me NO DISCOUNTS apply to the Bayer contour Meters. She would not let me use a coupon so no ECB’s for me… The add does say no DISCOUNTS so I suppose they are sticking to it. WAHHHHHH!!

      Anyone else experience this???

    • Jennifer

I agree with the poster above that is is wrong to buy the glucose meters just to get the ECB’s. I am new to couponing and always wondered what people did with these, donating them or not I still think it is wrong to take them off store shelves to get a few free bucks when some individual could come to the store looking to buy one they NEED to test their blood sugar with!

    • paige

I just got back from cvs and not only did I have to pay $3+ dollars in tax I did not get my ecb’son the bayer deal? I bought the breeze2. I am giong to get my ecb. but my ? is why did I have to pay tax? Most of the time I dont but every now and then I do. Anybody klnow why?

    • mary

I think we all have an opinion on whether or not we should buy or not buy the monitors. Just like we all have an opinion about overages.

I think that this forum is about the deals and it doesn’t serve anyone to start discussing and getting upset about to buy or not to buy.

It is a deal that is offered by CVS and we all are trying to get along the best we can. Let’s just talk the deals so Jenny doesn’t feel like she has to play referree…

    • Hi, I have a crazy question. I have had my CVS card for about 6 years and never, and I mean never had a $4 off $20 purchase. My friend who has had her card for about 6 months gets them every week!!! Do I need to get another card or what? And according to my receipt, I’ve saved $331 so far this year, out of pocket $77…go figure.

    • Julie

Does anyone know where to go to print a glucose meter coupon? TIA!

    • beth

I have not gone to cvs yet, I’ve been doing walgreens for the past two weeks. I’m waiting till I have some coupons. Any advice to a newbie cvs-er? I’m feeling intimidated.

    • Timea

The ad shows only the regular blue box Bayer Monitor is on sale for 14.99 and gives 5ecb (the Breeze2 comes up 19.99 but NO ECB’s will print) In NC you always pay tax even if you have a coupon for a free item… at least that’s my experience with working CVS deals, always have to pay tax…………….. a friend of mine went to a different store than I did & she wanted to do the deal tonight and the cashier told her NO coupons and shoved the ad into her face and said you can’t buy the meter and get the ecb… she was very mean to her…….. Unreal!!! I had no trouble using the coupon and get the ecb on the blue box bayer at my cvs. CVS is giving us these deals for a reason so there’s no need to be bitter about it if someone isn’t able to get the deals or is lazy to research it, in my opinion.

    • Jennifer

Just got back from CVS, very excited with my purchases. I got 2 Bayer Contour meters (my mom is diabetic, so she’s always happy to get these for a good deal – free for her and I keep the ECB!), a Neutrogena Moisture Shine lipstick, and 2 newspapers. I used a $4 off $20 coupon that printed on my receipt last week, a $3 off Neutrogena Moisture Shine lipstick that also printed on last week’s receipt, 2 Bayer Contour meter coupons, and $5 ECB left over from last week. Total out of pocket – $0. Received back – $13 in ECBs and another $4 off $20 coupon. There was no problem using the Bayer coupons – the manager happened to be doing my checkout and he simply put in the $14.99 discount manually.

Dunkin Donuts coffee on sale for $5.99. With the $1.50Q in RP 4/5, these come to $4.49!

    • Victoria

BTW, a ‘Free $25 giftcard with new/transferred prescription’ coupon printed out on my receipt today. Never seen that before. Woo-hoo!

    • DORA

I don’t feel guilt about buying meters. CVS is not the only place selling meters. A lot of grocery/discount stores price match. So if CVS doesn’t have anymore glucometers then take the CVS ad to Publix or Walmart. They will match the price.

I do feel that it is best to donate to meters. Find a free clinic like someone suggested before. I have read on other posts where people take them to nursing homes. I have never tried this but it sounds plausible to me. Wherever you donate, please donate in a timely manner. The strips inside of the boxes have an expiration date. If the strips expire then the meter will not recognize them. And a prescription would be needed to get more strips.

      Nancy,
Here is the rebate for Lysol

I have a question. Could you explain the new cvs monthly. It is full of coupons. I do not see the ecbs for the month. Dose this mean if i want a sale i need to bring a cvs monthly Q with the regular Q too.
      Thank you,
      Nancy
PS. It says on my my flyer 14.99 no discount to be used but in the monthly save 40 on the bayer breeze2 monitoring. I am diabetic so is a usefull tool for me.

      • Jenny

        Nancy,

They are really just sales. Nothing you need to remember to bring or use. They come off automatically at the register. It isn’t anything to worry about really, if you need one of the products you will get the sale price listed if not there aren’t any big deals to be had with them. Very disappointing.

    • melody

I recently signed up for and Extra Care card. I’ve received the card, but never got a $4/$20 coupon. Where should this have been? I received an e-mail welcoming me to CVS, and have recieved weekly updates on store specials, but no coupon–no mother’s day coupon either. Is there something else I need to do to get this? Thanks for the help!!

    • Brandi

Did anyone get teh Niea coupons in todays paper? I bought 2 papers and still got none! I am in OKC, I always get the coupons listed in the sneak peak’s…but not this one…

    • nancy

      Thanks Erica
I just got back from the store and I am filling out the rebate right now so I do not forget:)

    • Sherrie Tisdale

Where do you get the bayer contour meter coupons for $30 off for the CVS deal?

      • Jenny

        Sherrie,

If you don’t have the March 22nd insert that it was most recently in, you can buy it online on various copuon sites. I prefer http://www.thecouponclippers.com

I think I scored big this week at CVS. Total Cost of goods purchased (NOT including sales tax) = $124.56; Total Cash Out of Pocket = $44.78
      Total Saved = roughly $80.
I did have a rain check for toothpaste; but here are my scenarios that I did (i let people get in front of me after one or two ring ups, it was really busy).

      1) 2 schick quattro women’s $8.99 x 2;
      Use 2 – $4.00 coupons
      subTotal $9.98
Use 1 $5.00 ECB from prior purchases last visit
      Total due: $4.98
      Received $8 ECB

      2)1 -Nivea Slim Silhoutte $15.99
      1 – Nivea Women’s Body Wash $5.99
Use 1 – Buy 1 Nivea Slim Silhoutte, Get Free Women’s Body Wash coupon
Use 1 – $1 off Nivea Body Wash coupon
      Subtotal: $14.99
      Used $8 ECB from #1
      Cash Due: $6.99
      Received $5 ECB

3)1 – Nivea Body Wash for Women $5.99
1 – Nivea Tanning moisturizer (i forget the name of it)
Use 1 Nivea coupon for this product, get free women’s body wash coupon
Use $1 off nivea body wash coupon
      Subtotal: $8.99
Use $5 ECB from Purchase #2
      Total Due: 3.00
      Received $5 ECB

      4) 2 Colgate Cavity toothpaste (had raincheck from february) (RC = $.88 ea)
2 – twin pack colgate masfresh toothbrushes ($5.99 each)
      2- Arm & Hammer Advance White toothpaste – B1G1 ($5.49 ea)
      2- Nature Made Sam – E 24ct, B1G1 (19.99
      Use Raincheck – makes $2.29 toothpaste $.88 ea x 2
      Use 2 – $.75 colgate toothpaste coupons
Use 2 – $1 off one colgate toothbrush
Use 1 (lost the other one) – $1 off Nature Made vitamins
      Total: $33.72
      Use $5 ECB
      Total paid: $27.72
      Received $5 ECB

It sounds like alot out of pocket, but I saved 66% on all of it, so I am really happy, and I have about a 2 year supply of toothpaste LOL beautiful legs, teeth and skin, and natural mood enhancer, so what could be better than that!!!!!

    • threexsamama

I couldn’t find the Nivea coupons either. I’m in Virgina. I also asked my parents in SC and they didn’t find it either. I was bummed because I had a great plan, using coupons and $4 off $20. Oh well.

Jenny, thanks for all you do.
p.s. I LOVED the pictures of you kids.

    • Lynda

Just got back from CVS…Paid 99 cents for two packs of Schick ST3 disposables. Gotta love it!!!

    • Shannon in ATL

      FYI… Old Spice Clinical strength was 75% off for 2.50…used a $2 off one coupon…makes it .50

Also was able to use my Bayer coupon and she let me use the coupon for 1.50 off Bayer Crystal.

    • terri

The Nivea Sunkissed legs was marked $7.99 and the bodywash was marked $5.99. So my total on the Nivea came to $13.98. I was rushed and didn’t do the math in my head. I just had in my head what was posted on here so please be sure to watch.

    • Donna

ok so today was like the best day at CVS!!!! I bought crest white strips, bayers aspirin, toothpaste, 2 schick Quattro razors, 2 jumbo pack huggies diapers and another coupon organizer that was on clearance. GUess how much I paid out of pocket????????????………………………………….8 dollars!!!! Woo hooo! Im so excited! I love this site :)

    • Donna

Oh yea, and my total savings was 70 dollars that trip. :) WOO!

    • Rob

      Jenny…

The CVS clipfree coupon book has the Breeze2 “save $40.” Would this make it free AND $5.00 ECB?

    • Tina

If I used the Bayer crystals deal a few weeks back, will they let me do it again? Does it clear every week?

      • Jenny

        Tina,

They Bayer crystals deal is a new weekly deal so you should be fine doing it again.

        Nancy,
The only thing I might have done differently was not use to the $5 off $50 and split the transactions up to decrease your out of pocket. I will only use a $5 off $50 or $10 off $50 if I have the ECB to cover most of the amount.

    • nancy

ok if you see anything I could have done better pls let me know.
      1 huggies 8.99

I wanted to let Wilmington, NC know that the Zaditor 14.99 get 5 ECB also has a rebate of $5 mail. College and Oleander. Did not buy I did not bring my q for that on.
14.99-2=7.99 send rebate for 5 back only paid 2.99 or 1.99 if used 3 Q off.

    • couponmomma

      Donna —

Can you share with us how you did this? What order your transactions were and what coupons you used? (Sorry, I’m new!)

    • lakelover95

OK, I am new to CVS, but LOVE the idea of getting coupons or ECB’s for buying things with rebates/coupons that make them FREE….only I was not looking for coupons for items I didn’t use so I missed the Bayer Meter coupons….can I get them anywhere????? Sounds great to me!
Thanks and love all the hard work that goes into this site…..I NEVER shopped at my local Publix until I started reading the deals….now I have 4 stores all literally on four corners of one intersection and two in the same parking lot!!!! I save gas not running around and can quickly get the best coupon deals! I saved $50 off the groceries last week and have learned to stock-pile…..now I am ready to expand my horizons! Thanks!

    • Jenna

      Jenny-
Today, I did the glucose meter deal for the first time. I bought two and gave her my two coupons. She said she couldn’t use the second since the total was only 29.98 and the coupons were for up to $30. So she took only one coupon and then told me I owed $2.10 in tax. I asked her if I could have used the other coupon for to cover the tax too and she said no. I did get $10 ECB back. So, when you say “free” or “nothing due” does that usually include tax or do we often pay tax in addition. Just learning…..

      Thanks!

    • The only Nivea coupons I have are for $1 off body wash. I didn’t get any B1G1 this weekend in my inserts. I’m in Charleston, SC…anyone else get them around here?

    • Also, I never EVER get any $4 off $20 coupons from CVS either.

    • nancy

Thank you Jenny for the advice.

    • Brian

      2 Bayer Meters:$2.10 (tax) = $10.00 ECB
      8 pack Scott towels:$4.99-$1.00 off
      1 Huggies Pull-ups:$8.99-$3.00 off
      1 Huggies Pull-ups:$8.99-$2.00 off
      1 Crest Pro Health:$3.49-$1.00 off = $2.00 ECB
      1 Bayer Crystal:$2.00-$1.00 off =$2.00 ECB
      2 B1G1 Colgate toothpaste:$2.79- 2 $1.00 off
      2 Flinstone vit. B1G1 50% -$1.00 off
      2 B1G1 Arm & Hammer toothpaste:$4.39-$1.00 off
2 Blade deodorant $4.49 each -75%=$2.24 for both
      Used $19.00 in ECB
      TOTAL: $23.92
TOTAL SAVED: $62.56 (not including Bayer Meters)

Also I will be switching 2 prescriptions to CVS and use two $25 gift card coupons for switching!!

    • I just got back from CVS and they didn’t have any of the Bayer Contour meters left (I always make it to CVS late), but they did have a Breeze 2 monitor. I took this up to the front and asked if I would get the ECB’s on this one since the others were out of stock. The lady at the cash register told me that she would print off my $5 ECBs even though they didn’t apply to the Breeze 2… so it’s worth a shot for anyone else who missed out!

BTW – my dad is diabetic and said the same thing about getting tons of the meters for free from everywhere… it’s the test strips that get you! I give my meters to him so that he can use the strips that are included, but he only uses the meters until the strips run out because the strips are cheaper with his other meter.

    • Traclyn Cook

Question … the ad for the Crest White Strips is the Classic kind and the $5 off coupon says it excludes the Classic kind. Does CVS take this coupon anyway for the Strips? Thanks!

    • Dianna

      Jenny,
I have a question about the coke deal at CVS. I went to CVS last night & Attempted to purchase 5 coke 12 packs. My intention was to use 5 of the $1.00 off (1) coke 12 pack coupons that i printed off your site last week. The cashier said “you can only use 1 of these coupons” I sd “I think this is $1 off 1 12 pk & I am purchasing 5 12 packs”. She then called the MGR & he also said i was only allowed to use 1 for the whole transaction. Is this correct? I thought i could use 1 per item. I had no other coupons for the coke. I do NOT want to do anything illegal although I may not understand the “rules of couponing”. I am thinking it is Ok to use 1 coupon per item…. is this correct? please let me know if you know the answer.. or anyone else who may know the answer. THANK YOU!!

      • Jenny

        Dianna,

You should have been able to use one per item that you were buying.

    • Shannon in ATL

      Dianna,
I had the same issue at a CVS last week with a cashier saying I could only use 1 because it say “one per purchase”. I tried to explain to her the difference between that and one per transaction. I gave up. I was trying to use the B1g1F for Vit. Water and the 1$ off Coke coupons.
She even went over to the other cashier during my 2nd transaction and whispered (loudly) don’t let her use those coupons!

I called the HQ for CVS and the Rep as very apologetic and said she would talke to the District Manager because this obviously was a training issue. I would give them a call and expain what happened to you.

    • lavanya

      hai Jennifer,
I’m new to couponing and thanx to you i get to know so much.
In the cvs colgate toothbrush deal- spend $10 get $5 back…does the total have to be $10 after or before coupons??

      Thanks..

      • Jenny

        lavanya,

The total has to be $10 before coupons :)

    • nancy

      Lavanya,
You have to have $10 before coupons to get the $5 ECBs. Remeber to hand the coupons after or at the end of transaction. So the tolal it 10 or more with cvs card then hand the coupons over that are needed.

    • I love it when shopping at CVS helps the grocery budget!

      http://b1g1bargainsblessingsbananas.blogspot.com/2009/05/cvs-deals-0510-thru-0516.html

      :o)

    • Jodie

      Diana,

My CVS will only allow one internet-printed coupon per item. Maybe this is why your CVS wouldn’t allow you to use your coupons, also.

    • Isaac

I shop cvs frequently. I notice that there are people that abuse the cvs ecb program. I also was in the store when someone was buying items just for the ecbs, but not thing about someone else. If you don’t need the product then don;t buy it. There are so many others out there that may need that item. Also don’t try to abuse the cashiers when they have rules to follow. If the coupon says save on a specific product, don’t ask tham to risk their job by doing it incorrectly

    • anabelle

A few things on the couponing at cvs.
I frequent CVS and sometimes these things get out of hand.
While the cashiers are more than happy to take your coupons, you have to realize that they have certain policies. At some stores, you may be able to get away with some coupon situations, but by no means are all cvs’s the same. Different stores have different policies. Please be respectful they don’t want to argue with you any more than you want to argue with them. There is a huge difference in playing the coupon game saving money and flat out trying to abuse the system. Abusers of the system are the reason the monthly extra bucks have gone away. If CVS is being cheated constantly then they have no drive to continue trying to make the extrabucks work. So please be respectful to these cashiers. It is not their fault for policy.
A huge one I have seen, is I saw a lady go off on a cashier because she wouldn’t allow her to use a $4 off of Intuition blades that were BOGO. You are only technically purchasing ONE, therefor only ONE coupon can be used. You are already getting one free and $4 off of the other, why complain???
      Happy couponing!

      **Jenny Here**
Just to note one discrepancy. The B1G1 sale is actually CVS’s doing and not the manufacturer’s. You are buying two products and the store can submit both coupons for reimbursement since their total count sold will equal the total coupons submitted.

    • Emily

Do Dove products ever go on a good sale with coupon combinations? I have a TON of Dove coupons I’ve received through the newspaper and mail but never use them since I have yet to see a good deal with them.

      Just wondering… Thanks!

    • BJ

I live in the greater Los Angles area. The majority of times the deals you mention are available at our CVS. This week they are not. The $4 ECB wyb Schick Quattro for Women Razor at $8.99 is unavailable. The razor is $6.99 with no ECBs.

Do you know of a website that is based on the West Coast that does what you do for the South?

      Thank you for your help.

      BJ

    • Ron

      My deal today.

Bayer Meter $14.99 less $14.99 coupon collected $5 ECB ***MONEYMAKER*
      Quatro Pro $8.99 x2 ($17.98) less ($4 x2 coupon) collected $8 ECB
      Crest Pro Health $3.49 x2 ($6.98) less ($1 x2 coupon) collected $4 ECB
Bayer Crystal $2.00 less $1.00 coupon collected $2 ECB ***MONEYMAKER***
Colgate toothbrushes $10.95 less ($1 x5 coupon) collected $5 ECB
Softsoap Pump $7.99 less $1.5 coupon collected $5.00 ECB
      (needed 1 to get $5)

      Also used $10 off 50
and $20 ECB from pervious deal
      Total OOP $1.05
Made $8 in ECB less the tax

I was not watching close, so I gave back $1.60 in ECB because of ECB overage. I should have bought the candy. Good harvest despite that.

    • KATIE

      Hi All–
It seems that I have been very unlucky this week with my couponing! I went to CVS today to buy their (4) 12 Packs of Coke to Get 1 Free.
I planned on using (4) $1.00 Off Coupons that I printed off of this site last week. The cashier would only allow me to use (1) because she said that it states “1 Coupon per Transaction”. I didn’t want to argue with her, so I just took my (3) coupons back and paid my balance.
I did however call the corporate office to inquire about this. They put me on hold and came back and told me the SAME thing! They said that if I wanted to use more than (1) coupon, then I would have to split my items up into seperate transactions, but then I wouldn’t have gotten that 5th 12-Pack for free.
So, FYI for you all…it turns out that I would have been better off spliting them into 5 seperate transactions and then using (5) $1.00 off coupons.
The way I was cashed out, it cost me $12.00 for (5) 12-packs ($3.25 each, with 1 free is still a good deal), but if I had split it into(5) seperate transactions at $3.25 each and used (5) coupons, then it would have only cost me $11.25.

    • Kelly

several people have asked where they can print meter coupons. these are NOT printables, they were in an insert a couple months ago (don’t know exact date). Also, if you ever get this coupon, use it quickly! LOL, these things fly off the shelves!

    • Natalee

      CVS Yesterday

2-Nivea subtle tanning moisturizer $7.99 each
      2-Nivea body washes ($6.99, $5.99)
2- Buy 1 Nivea subtle tanning moisturizer get a Nivea body wash free
      Total: $15.98 + tax

Could I also have used Nivea coupons for the Body Washes that I got for free??

I’ve noticed that you do not have the out of pocket each week that I have….how do you do that???

    • Lynn

In the CVS that I go to, they haven’t been marking some of the items you would receive ECB’s on. Like this week, the Bayer crystals didn’t have the little tag on the shelf to show you the ECB’s you will receive. Also, last week, on the water/m&m deal, the shelves weren’t marked. Has anyone else noticed this?

    • tonya

      lynn,

i’ve noticed that as well, but the price & ecb’s are always consistent w/ the ad. i just ask the cashier to scan it first or have the ad ‘in hand’ so you can show her the sale/ecb’s. never had a problem at cvs.

    • Lynn

No, I haven’t either. I have a cashier there that I really like and there’s never a problem, but I just thought it was odd, since they have always marked them before. I just make sure I pick up an ad on my way in, so I know exactly what I’m getting and I have it in hand at checkout, just in case.

    • Brandi

I have been to a total of 7 CVS in OKC!!! None of them have had the trimstyle razor in stock! So today when I went to my usual CVS…I talked to the Mgr. and told him how hard it has been to fin it, he suggested a raincheck. I told him that was fine but that I was really wanting it now. He gave me a raincheck for 5, and I continued shopping. While I was picking the Nivea deal, he walks over to me and gives me 5 of the regular Shick Quattro for women, I explain to him that this is not the one I wanted, he said yes, but they will give you the same ECB’s. I told him I would rather wait on the trimstyle, and he tells me that he would do the deal for me again with the ECB’s when they come in. He knows I hae had a lot ofissues lately with them not having items in stock. So when I went to go check out I only bought 2 of the qauttro (that was all the coupons I had) and it gave me the ECB’s. He took my raincheck and wrote a note on it saying to manually give me $4 ECB’s per razor if they did not print! WooHoo!

    • Lauren

I am new at this, and I was wondering how to find the ECB items at CVS. Is there a list of the items giving ECBs?

    • Sylvie

      Natalee,

I did the Nivea deal and used a $2 off coupon for the self-tanner (9.99 at my store) that they had in the display at the CVS (also saw it at Walmart) and that brought my total down. I also used a -$3/$15 coupon which made my total $7.99 plus tax before paying with ECBs. (got $5 ECB back)

I notice that you bought twice as much as Jenny did in her scenario, and she had a -$3/$15 so that might be why you had a higher OOP (Your prices were lower, so you wouldn’t have reached $15 with 2 items).

Just curious….I heard on another site (SD) that this deal is not limited to one as the ad says it is. You didn’t quite make it to $30, but I’m wondering if your receipt says you have met the limit or if there is additional $ to reach it??

(My receipt doesn’t say that I’ve reached the limit like it usually does and it says that I need to still spend $15 to get the reward…but I already GOT the $5 ECB reward. confusing!)

    • tonya

      lauren,

there is usually ad ad in the sunday paper or you can always go to http://www.cvs.com and click on weekly circular or weekly ad…not sure how it is worded there but you should be able to find it.

    • tonya

      lauren,

click on “store circular” at the top.

    • Lauren

So everything in the store circular gives you ECBs? How do you know how much you will get in ECBs?

    • Adrienne

      @ Brandi –
I had been having a lot of trouble finding the trimstyle as well… we have so many CVS stores around here and none of them had it in stock. Today it finally dawned on me to check the CVS near our University… parking is hard to find, and I assumed that most students don’t clip coupons. Boy was I right. I did have to pay $1 to park, but I walked in and they had 7 trimstyles practically falling off of their rack! I got the three that I wanted and paid via ECBs + .43 oop, so the dollar for parking wasn’t too terrible. I also went to Rite Aid this morning and they didn’t have the B1G1 notice on their quattro replaceable blades, so they were fully in stock as well. I purchased 4 boxes of blades, 2 packs of Mentos gum as filler (used the $1 off coupon), and used the $5 off of $25 store coupon… so I paid $4.52 oop and added $4 to my SCR (.52 total).

My sisters may think it’s weird to get a trimstyle and a pack of blades for their birthdays, but I know it’s something they want and I’m getting them all for $4.45 ($.95 oop + $1 parking fee + $2.50 to buy extra coupons on ebay because I knew they wanted the razors… I might sell the left over ones via ebay to make some of this money back)! Yay!

      lauren,

no. not everything in the circular. as you look through the circular you will see some ads that say…”spend $$$ on these products and get $$ extra bucks” (also known as ecb’s, or extra care bucks).

    • Natalee

      Sylvie,

Our local prices are always a little off from what is listed here. If I hadn’t done it this way, with the coupons that I had, I would not have gotten my ECB’s.

My receipt is a little confusing. It says:

Nivea, Spend 15 get 5 EB
      Amount toward this reward $28.96
Amount Needed to Earn Reward $15.00

It does NOT say “Offer Limit Reached” like it does under my Bayer deal. It also doesn’t say that under my Crest Pro-Health deal either.

So, does anyone know what that means?? I’m still a newbie here.

    • Sylvie

      Natalee,

That’s what I figured, that you needed the extra $ to get to $15…. I like your lower prices though!!! :)

As for the limits…I just had a friend who did the Nivea deal a 2nd time and got $5 ECB again, so it’s not a “limit one” thing, which is why it doesn’t say “offer limit reached”

I’m not sure how much more Nivea body wash I need though! (but it does smell really good!!) :)

    • Natalee

Lower prices ARE good! It just sometimes make me have to buy one more of things to get the ECB’s. I didn’t have any Qs for any other Nivea, but I’ll have to go back now. I don’t need anything for me, but I found a Nivea for Men Q, so I’ll get something for hubby & get more ECBs :)

      Thanks Tonya!

    • Brandi

I need some more of the $4 off ocupons for the trimstyle…I got a raincheck so I have time to trade for them…LOL…But AFC keeps messing up on me. All night it has been going offline for minutes at a time. Ughhh…I want those trimmers…LOL

So, I was wondering if anyone has some great advice for me. I just started into the couponing world about 6 days ago. I have the RP and SS coupons from 5/10 and some other coupons from my military grocery store, and of course online coupons. I want to start off CVSing because it seems the easiest to start. As of right now, I do not know if I should wait and collect some more Sunday coupons first, or if someone can suggest a “starter” buy for tom. to earn me some ECB’s. To be honest I am kind of nervous about going for the first time, because I don’t know if you can double up on coupons, etc. So, if someone could give me a simple first time transaction it would be greatly appreciated!

      Thanks!

Sorry to leave another comment… but I was going to the Bayer quick release crystals for my first time using CVS, and I went to their website and clicked on the circular and it doesn’t have that medication anywhere on it, and I even searched it on the site and it wasn’t there. Also, when I click on the 10ct printable coupon and it takes me to coupon.com, there is not a $1.50 coupon for quick release crystals, but there is one for Bayer heart health. Does anyone know if I should just go try this for my first time?

    • Beth

Very odd CVS transaction on the Coke products…cashier took all 4 of my coke printable coupons for my buy 4, get 1…but only scanned one
of them …just did it 4 times. Is she going to keep the other 3 for herself? Seemed weird to me; she set the coupons to the side by the register when she was finished.

    • tonya

      lauren,

the bayer quick release ad is on page 13 of the circular. the coupon listed is for a different size, so it may not work. i didn’t use it. but it is still free after $2 ecbs that will print at the end of your receipt.

if i was only starting w/ the 5/10 paper coupons…my 2nd transaction would be the nivea deal listed above. you should have that coupon. and don’t forget to use your $2 in extra bucks from the bayer quick release on this deal. you well get $5 ecbs back at the end of the 2nd transaction receipt.

      i hope i haven’t confused you more.

    • Lauren

OK that sounds so great! Thanks!

    • Natalee

      Lauren,

At my CVS, there were $1 off any Bayer product coupons hanging on a samll tearpad next to the 4ct Bayer Crystals. That would help you if your store had them too!

I’m new too, but I think after a couple of weeks of this I have learned that splitting your items into smaller groups to check out is the way to go, so that you can use ECB’s to pay to earn more ECBs :)

    • Sylvie

      Lauren,

If you are doing the Nivea deal, look and see if your CVS has the Nivea display that has the little brouchure “pockets” in it (they’re kind of hard to spot) but at the ones here around me, there were brochures for each product… the self-tanner one has a $2 coupon in it. You can combine it with the Buy a tanner get a body-wash free coupon from 5/10. That will help with your out of pocket expense. Those 2 items here in Atlanta were enough to get me to $15…enough for the $5 ECB. If you are lucky enough to have a $3 off $15 print from the card-scanner when you come in (don’t forget to do that) it makes the deal even BETTER!

      HEATHER:

Don’t let anyone give you a guilt trip about purchasing a glucometer or anything else on sale even if you clear the shelf!! Actually it is in their best interest if you clear the shelf because then the next person can ask for a RAINCHECK and get it for that sale price with no expiration (they can come any day they want) and ECB will print!! Yeah. Free for all!

    • tricia

Something I noticed regarding last night’s shopping experience. I used the $30/1 glucose meter and bought only 1 and WAS given an overage. I really did not anticipate this, since there were comments not to expect overages at CVS. In any event, I had diapers and coke to buy as well so I added them to the transaction. The way this overage seemed to work was giving the item, the coupon, and then at the end the cvs card after I added filler items, then the retail price of the meter changed from 59.99? to their sale price of 14.99. Anyone else, notice this? Not counting on it next time, but it was a very nice overage this time.

    • Natalee

Okay, so I went back to CVS today

      1 Nivea Men’s Body Wash
      1 Crest Pro Health Rinse
      1 CVS feminine wash
-$1 off Nivea for Men Body Wash
      -$1 Crest Pro Health Rinse
-$1.50 CVS coupon on any feminine item
      -$2 ECB
      -$2.89 ECB
      Total: $3.92
Got $5 ECB, and $2 ECB!!!!(both of these were limit of 2 instead of 1 and I had some Nivea carry over from previous purchase!)

    • Natalee

      Sylvie,

I went back and got enough Nivea to make it go to a total of $30 and got my 2nd ECBs but my receipt still doesn’t say “Offer limit reached”, so I guess you can get at least 3!!

    • Lauren

So, I went for the VERY FIRST time CVSing using coupons… well there was NO ECB’s for the 4ct of Bayer quick release OR the Nivea. Also, there was no $5 off wyb $15 of the Nivea… So.. it rang out to be 18.17. So, I got nervous and bought it… but then I returned it later today and they gave me 33.02 back.. so I profited a lot but all by mistake and I turned around and told them, but they said since they made the mistake then it is ok. I am soooo bummed about it all. I don’t think I’ll ever get the hang of it. So, does anyone know why I didn’t get any ECB’s?
