My Grand Plan.  This week I am starting with $5 ECB.  These are the deals I will do using the coupons that I have.  I am not planning on any meters this week to make the scenario more useable for everyone.

Why all the transactions?  This is to decrease your out of pocket costs.  If you bought everything in one transaction you would spend over $40 dollars and then have a ton of ECB’s to spend next week.  Go shopping and get it all in your buggy at the same time.  Then separate it out into little piles and go check out.  If someone gets behind you line then jump to the back of line.

thanks this is what I will do too!!

    • Jenny, thank you so much for posting this. Your scenarios look great.

This messed me up for a bit so I thought I would send a quick note. The 3 or 5 subject notebook deal in the 3 day special section is:
$3 ECB wyb Caliber or CVS 3-subject or 5-subject Notebook at $3.99 Limit 2

    • Kim

You mention free diapers at the end of your plan. Please explain the scenario to get the free diapers. Thanks.

    • Dianne

Regarding the $10 ECB when you buy $20 in Olay products, there is also a $20 rebate on $50 purchase of Olay facial moisturizers or facial cleansers that runs thru 8/9. The rebate form is downloadable from the Olay site. Since I can use my mother’s CVS card as well as ours, I will get $40 in rebates on $50 in addition to coupon savings. I am excited to try the Regenerist line and this is the perfect way to do it with very little OOP.

Jenny, kudos to you yet again for sharing such a wonderful plan to make the most of these great CVS deals!

    • Chrissy

Love the scenario. I have $13 ECB to start out with, so I will be able to do it in fewer transactions – Yeah! I just hope I can get to one of our three CVS’ before all the school supplies are gone. I have heard you can start doing these deals on Saturday evening. Is that true? It must be, because I have been at a CVS when it opens on Sunday morning before, and the free after ECB stuff is already gone. Wish they would stock more of this stuff!

      • Jenny

        Chrissy,

Sadly this week you can’t start these scenarios only. When they are 3 day sale deals the ECB’s will not print until the day the sale starts :( So you have to go Sunday. I think CVS doesn’t want us in Church.

    • Hi Jenny,

I was wondering if you can purchase the photobook and choose the photos have CVS print inside at a later date? Or should i come prepared with all my photos downloaded to a disc to make it during the shopping trip?

      Thanks!

      • Jenny

        Jessica,

I learned the hard way last way when this was free that is must be paid for during the week of the promotion to get the ECB’s. So I would come prepped with pictures on a thumb drive or CD. According their site it can have 10 pages and max each page can have 10 pics. They will be super small though if you do 5 to page so I would be around 30-35 pics and do 3 to page or less on many pages.

    • Amy

Jenny – the three day sale on school supplies – are those items that WON’T ring up sale price on Saturday night??

    • Julieann

      Jenny – FYI:
I have gotten a CRT for 1.50 off Maalox or Gas-X and buy 26 oz Maalox and get 12 ox free. This sweetens the deal to a possible MM with the MQ’s.

    • The PHOTOBooks make EXCELLENT Christmas gifts for family and they are free, my favorite price!

    • By the way Jenny, if you ever run out of clearcare and don’t have any ECB’s. Sam’s has a good price.

    • Hailey

      Hi Jenny,
Will CVS give you a raincheck for any of the free items if you are there Sun-Tues and they are out of these items? Thanks for your site!

    • Jennifer

      Hi Jenny!
Where are you seeing the huggies for $8.99? I just looked at the ad. I only see the CVS diapers for $9.99. I hope the huggies are $8.99 because I have a CVS coupon for $2.00 off!! Just let me know. Thanks!

      • Jenny

The Huggies are on the second to last page of the ad. How exciting to have a coupon to stack!

    • Hailey

If you make the photo book online and pick it up at the store does it still qualify for the $7.99 ecb?

    • kelly y

ECB & Rain Check items — when the cashier fills out the Rain Check make sure she puts the ECB code on the bottom of the Rain Check…that way you will still get your ECB when you purchase the items.

      –Kelly

    • D.W.

I saw in the ad that the Airwick mini fresh matic automatic spray is on sale for $4.99…there is a $4 off coupon here http://www.homesolutionsnews.us/offers.shtml under printable coupons…that makes it $.99 each.

    • MelRae

Oh yay! Thank you! I had to blow $5 in ECBs on Wednesday because they were expiring. I will start with the Gilette deal and get $4 in ECBs and go from there to get free school supplies!!!

    • Bobbie

Will a CD-R work on downloading the pictrues since I’ve never done this before? Also, Jenny the scenarois are great. My only trouble is when they are out of something and then I have a time. LOL I’m glad a Walgreen’s mgr gave me this web site about a month ago. Went to Publix last week and spent oop $15.00 and saved $50.00. I have been doing rebates since they came out yrs ago at all the drug stores but quit CVS when they went to this system. Only started CVS’ing when Walgreen’s started their new program. Thanks a lot for any info you can give me on the photo book.

      **Jenny Here**
You can take them in on a CD so it should work fine. Have Fun!

    • tiffani

      Jenny,

Last week a CVS coupon printed on my receipt that was buy one 26oz. maalox, get a 12oz. maalox free, this will work great this week with the benefiber/maalox deal. YAY!!

    • lynn

the huggies are on the last page close to bottom left hand side

    • Michelle

Do any of you know the price of the Purex Complete 3-in-1 sheets? My coupons in the 6/14 SS are for $2 off of 1, so we could use two of those and have $4 off of two boxes. I wonder what the OOP would be.

    • Jennifer

      Thanks Lynn!

    • Jennifer G

My dilemma with CVS is this: it’s against my religion to shop on Sundays, and I run a home day-care Mon-Fri, so the earliest I can possibly go is on Monday evening. By that time, nothing is left that’s free or close to it, and I get frustrated and don’t want to bother someone to have them write me out a long list of rain checks with ECBs. So I end up paying for these things other places. Rite-aid is the same way for me, so I usually just look for good deals at Publix and Kroger. Does anyone else ever feel this way?

    • Michelle

Never mind about the Purex sheets. I called my CVS, and they’re $8.99. They’ll be B1G1 free, so that will make them about $2.50 each using two of the the $2 coupons.

    • Jennifer

Yeah I am not able to make it until Monday nights either. Sometimes they may have One item left but not usually. But when it is an All week sale. My CVS restocks on thursday afternoons so I am able to go get there on Thursday evenings and get the stuff they had free for the week.

    • .Jennifer

      Jennifer G,

I understand completely what you are saying about shopping on Sundays. I don’t think you should feel bad asking for rainchecks though. I have never had anyone even appear to mind writing a raincheck. Then, that way, you can shop the following Monday, once they are restocked, to buy last week’s deals. Then each Monday thereafter you will just be buying the previous week’s items.

I have rainchecks for this week’s school supplies burning a hole in my pocket.

      _______________________________________________________________

Now, are we sure that one three day sales that you can’t buy on Saturday? That is not what I was previously told by someone on this site and by one of the CVS managers (a co-manager or soemthing). I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything from a three day sale on the Saturday before so I can’t speak for experience, just from what I was told.

      • Jenny

As long as you get the rain check during the sale dates you should get the ECB’s when you redeem it. The hard part is if the managers will get the raincheck. Many will refer to the quantities limited and say sorry for those deals .

    • .Jennifer

p.s. As always, THANK YOU JENNY FOR ALL THAT YOU DO. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

    • CJ

I’ve got a register printout Q that says “$2 off $10 CVS brand purchase”. Could I use that for the school supplies since they are all CVS brand? Would I still get my ECB’s?

    • Amy

Since finding this website I have had so much fun couponing and am sharing it with my friends. One things I haven’t seen on you site is that in many cases if the coupon is for the same brand it will work for all items of that brand if the first few numbers on the barcode match the barcode of the item. For instance I had a $4.00 off coupon for purina dog food. A different kind of purina dogfood was on sale but the coupon still worked for it. Same for the Kashi cereal bars a few weeks ago.. our Harris Teeter only had Kashi granola bars.. and the coupons worked great even though the coupon stated they were for cereal bars. Happy Shopping.

      **Amy**
I don’t mention that because using the coupon for a product not specified on the coupon is actually fraud. There are folks out that make a living prosecuting folks who even talk about it and I don’t want them on my door. :)

    • I just wanted to say that I think you have done a very impressive thing here. Nice Work………

I will trying some of this out.

    • Looks like another good week. We can probably use some extra scissors/notebooks around the house but the rest I can donate. I’m also going to try for the toilet paper.

And even though it’s not a fantastic deal, I may also snag the Pepsis for the husband and just save the $2 ECB toward next week.

    • Lindsay

This is my first week to try CVS, so I am wading into the waters slowly and just had a quick question about sales tax.. Does sales tax ring up before or after the ECBs are used?

    • CJ
I think yes you can use the QP and still get your ECB’s I dont see why you wouldnt…

    • Heres my plan starting with $2 ECB’s from last week

      1) Buy 2 papermate grip pens and 1 portfolio folder
      Total- $2.03
      Use $2 ECB
      OOP- $.03

      Get back $1.98

      2) Buy 1 scissor at $2.99
      Use $1.98 in ECB
      Total OOP- $1.01

      Get back $2.99

      3) Buy 2 Kotex pads
      Use (2) $1.00 off QPS
      Total: $5.00
      Use $2.99 ECB
      Total OOP- $2.01

Get back $2 ECB for next time…

      What do you guys think?
      Am I spending too much??

    • Lindsay
First of all, congrats on your new addiction!
I was new to CVS too and now I love it, its like free money!
Anyways, to answer your question, tax is added to the total and your ECB’s print out with your receipt after you pay…
      Does this make sense?
Some things get taxed and some do not.
But you will not get your ECB’s until after you pay, like I said, they print out with your receipt to be used for a future transaction…

    • Catherine

I had to get a raincheck this week on the Post Trail mix cereal. I went to 2 different CVS’s before getting the raincheck. I will go earlier this week to make sure there are school supplies in abundance! I will have 3 in elementary school this Fall. (And sadly, it is July and we haven’t cleaned out their school supply boxes from last shcool year yet!)

    • Lindsay

Thanks Aymie, I appreciate your help in answering my question..I was thinking more along the lines of at the end of the transaction, do the ECBs get used like coupons and subtracted prior to tax or is it used like a cash credit and subtracted after tax? I hope I’m not being too dumb about this. :)

    • Chantelle

Lindsay, States do taxes differently so it will depend on your state.

    • Amy

Jenny, correct me if I am wrong, but my previous experience with CVS two-day or three-day sales .. they WILL NOT honor ECBs AFTER those days. You can get a raincheck for the sale price .. but they will not give you ECBs. VERY UNFORTUNATE .. so that forces us to choose to shop on Sunday and HOPE that we can get a deal .. or MISS OUT! Bummer!

    • Jeanne

I didn’t care to shop at CVS until last week b/c it was confusing to me and it seemed every time I tried to shop there they were out of the specials. However now I find it a little easier to understand and the free school supplies is a great motivator for me. I am a high school special ed teacher at a poor school district so our resources are very limited along with our pay. This helps me out tremulously and I love that it is basically free.

    • Isabel

Hey Jenny i just want so say thanks for all the hard work you put on this, I really love you blog. And check it every single day just in case there is something new.

    • Amy

Jenny – thanks for the FYI .. the Lake Murray 24hr CVS told me that it is limited to their supply .. will issue a raincheck .. but the ECBS are a benefit to those who receive the merchandise during the special sale days. Wonder if Ballentine has same “policy”??

      **Jenny**
I’ve found that Ballentine store is much more friendly with the rainchecks! I would try that or the store downtown.

    • Jennifer G, you can get rainchecks for the items, but the employee has to write a code from the item on the raincheck for you to get the ECB as well. The cashiers in my store also tear out the item from the ad and staple it to the raincheck so if the ECB does not print then they will know to give it to you. Some also just tell me to save the whole ad with my raincheck so they can compare dates. That’s how my store helps me to get ECB’s on raincheck items. It’s actually easier then mapping out a shopping strategy then getting tothe store and having most the items gone.

    • Bhumi

      Jenny,

Thank you so much for your scenario, I’ll be following the same way, except the gillete and tylenol deal as i dont have any coupons left for the same.

I m waiting for your Walgreens scenario as well.

I have $6.5 in ECB and $3 in RR to start with this week.

      Jenny you rock

    • Elizabeth

When you buy $20 worth of a product and you get ECB is the total calculated before coupons to qualify for the ECB?

    • Ginger

My experience with asking for a rain check… I was told they couldn’t issue one during the week of the sale because they had a truck shipment coming in later that week and I’d have to come back then. (sounds a little wishy-washy to me…I’m going to try again for the next thing that’s sold out). FYI, I’m in College Station, TX… any other Texans out there?!?…

    • Christina

Does anyone know if you can make the photo book at home and still get the ECB crdt?

    • Jennifer

Help! I’m new to cvsing and I have 3 ECBs and I’m not sure how to use them to get the best deal. I’m looking at the photo book, fusion razor, 1 subject notebook, paper mate pens and the scissors.

    • It’s a great week at CVS! I have a couple additional scenarios that you can find at http://bit.ly/Nw8ui. One deals specifically with school supplies.

    • momof2

I am so excited about this week’s deal. They are A -M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

    • Anom

where can i get the savings rebate booklet?

    • SCYankee

I have never had any coupons print up on my cvs receipts, only my ecb’s. Why is that?

    • Ashley

Can anyone get the 2.50 CRT for the pain relievers or is it just certain people, like a chance thing?

    • jenn

I didn’t have the $2 off tylenol in my SS 6/21 and I don’t have the RP 5/17 coupons. Was anyone else missing the coupon from SS 6/21?

    • D

Lindsay, I think what you’re asking is when you use an ecb, say a $5 ecb, does that amount get taxed. The answer to that is no. If you buy an item that is exactly $5 before tax, and you use a $5 ecb, you will pay nothing out of pocket. This however, is not the case for coupons. If you buy a $5 item, use a $1 coupon, and $4 ecbs, you’ll pay tax on the dollar that you used the coupon for. Hope this helps, this took me a while to figure out, haha. Have fun!

    • D

      Jennifer,

Do you have any of the tylenol $2 coupons or the $2 off 10 pain relivers? If so, I would start with the tylenol since it could be a money maker. So if you had just one of the $2 off from the paper, this is what I would do:

      transaction 1:
      1 tylenol arthritis @ 3.99
      1 single subject notebook @ .99
      1 two pocket folder @ .05
      Total: 5.03
      Use:
      $2 off tylenol
      $3 ecbs
Total out of pocket: .03 plus tax (if your tax is 8% it’s about 16 cents (8% of 2.03)
      get back 4 ecbs

then I’d roll them into the photo book deal and use the 7.99 ecbs to pick up the rest of the free after ecb deals. You’d end up paying $4 oop, but these are still great deals. Post on if you have coupons and we can give you other ideas! I know how it is just starting out on this ;)

I am new to CVS coupons. Can any one help me where to get “$4 off Gillette Fusion Manual or Power Razor PG 6/07” printed coupon. What is “PG 6/07” means? And some times i saw SS 6/07 coupons? Where do i get these PG, SS coupons?

    • sanju

Can any one tell me what are SS, PG, RP coupons? Where i can get those coupons? Like
$2 off Pull Ups SS 6/14
$1 off Kelloggs, Special K Cereal, RP 6/07
$4 off Gillette Fusion Manual or Power Razor PG 6/07

    • What is this photobook everyone keeps talking about?
Is it like a photo album?

    • Angi

      Sami and Sanju

SS, PG, and RP refer to the coupon inserts in your Sunday paper, there is a section on this site that gives you all of the coupon lingo, it really helped me out when I got started a few weeks ago.

    • Jennifer G

I just wanted to say thanks for all the advice on the rainchecks…I’ll just have to be more diligent. =). And thanks, Jenni, for all your hard work…I still love this site and wasn’t complaining about the thousands of deals you bring to our attention every week.

    • Jennifer

      D

I’m missing the tylenol coupon. I do have a coupon for the fusion razor for $4 off. Would this help?

      Thank you so much.

    • Denise

      Thanks Jenny!
Does anyone know if the prices for the Sharpie markers and highlighters are good deals? I don’t have them on my “Best Price” list yet.

    • melody

Just want to thank you for making this so easy for all those of us who are too busy to organize all this info!!! You are truly a blessing!

    • Bobbie

Thanks Jenny for your reply to #19. Will try to download some pictures.

    • Paul

If I buy two Head & Shoulder Shampoo’s am I able to use the BOGO and the $2 off 2 coupons together. I tried it today and they refused, but I thought that you could do that. They told me I couldn’t because the one is free so I’m not really buying two, but I’ve used two $1 off coupons before when the Arm & Hammer detergent was BOGO. Was that just different because the store had it advertised as BOGO or was I not able to do it because my cashier was being difficult?

    • Julie

This may sound dumb, but has anyone ever had a cashier refuse to do all the little separate transactions(or at least be all snarky about it)? Theres only one 24 hr CVS where I live in Knoxville and the night clerk is… well, not the most personable thing. I’ve never tried multiple transactions, not sure why. Also, that store got robbed a week or so ago so everyone is kinda on edge (it was a Sat night/Sun am too). Just curious abt people’s experiences.

    • Julie

Paul, If the STORE SALE is for BOGO, then yes, you could still apply a single $2 off 2 OR two $1 off 1 coupons. But what you were actually trying to do w/o realizing it was use TWO manufacturer coupons for the same items. The BOGO coupon applies to 2 items. But so does the $2 off 2, so for it work you’d have to buy a total of 4 items. It would be the same as if you tried to use two of the $1/1 on only one container of the detergeant.

    • Catherine

I’ve never had a cashier look at me like I was crazy when I was doing the multiple transactions. I do try to plan it so that if a person gets behind me, I roll my cart behind them and wait for my next turn. But usually I just tell the cashier that I’d like to break this up into multiple transactions, and it works just fine. They are patient and sometimes admiring when the ECB’s from the first transaction are torn off and used to pay for the next, give or take a few cents. :)
Just be considerate of the other folks. Remember, most of the time the people we meet in the drug store aren’t feeling particularly well. That is except for us couponers! :)

    • How do you get the $2.00 off $10.00 CVS coupon? I can’t find that one anywhere.

      This is so much fun!

    • Stephanie

I just wanted to tell all of you that I just returned from CVS in Chattanooga, TN…where I purchased all of the school supplies on sale. I called first and they said it started at 1:00 today at that store. So I went and they printed the ECB’s up manually. I called another CVS that said they were starting at 3:00 today. So good luck to all of you…I got the last two packs of pens ALREADY!

    • sanju

      Thanks Angi.

    • Veronica

I don’t have the $2 off Tylenol in my SS 6/21 either. I didn’t have any Tylenol coupons at all. I was able to print two of the $1 off Tylenol coupons from the link she posted though.

    • Amy in LA

I called my CVS store earlier today and they said tomorrow’s sale won’t start until midnight. I was there earlier getting another Febreze deal (those were great this week) and I looked in the school supply section. They had plenty of notebooks, but they were down to only 2 scissors. She said it won’t start until midnight, but they already have the yellow sales tags on the shelves.

Lucky for me, my husband and I are going out on a date tonight, so I’ll have my list ready and I’m going at midnight, lol! And i’ll drag the hubby with me and show him how it’s done. :P

    • Just my opinion, but I LOVE rainchecks. Yes, I’d rather be able to walk in and execute my scenario start to finish. Then again, it’s not so bad for a tired mommy to walk in, figure out they have nothing, scrap the scenario, get the rainchecks, and go home with nothing to unload but having secured good deals for the future. Rain checks actually put you in control of when to wield your ECB power! I’m excited about my Post raincheck because now I have my 3 $2 q’s and $3 ECB from this week. I’ll walk out with 3 boxes of cereal that I love for $1 and I’ll have $5 ECB to boot. Might even be tempted to pull out my General Mills raincheck from APRIL and load up the pantry! Hah!

    • Oh, and I always try to get a copy of the ad and find the particular products I want rainchecks for. Then I guide the cahsier through it as they write and they aren’t searching through the whole ad looking for one thing. HTH!

    • Jody

I called one of the 24 hour CVS stores near me and they said the sunday sale starts at midnight.

    • momof2

I just got back from CVS & was able to take advantage of the deals today. I got 3 boxes of the tylenol arthritis for my mother in law, 2 of the CVS notebooks, 3 packs of pens, 2 scissors, 2 glues, 1 razor (that my husband will probably never use),3 packs of pencils(which sale ended today), 2 rulers, and 7 folders. I did break all of this up into separate transactions but I am too tired to type in each scenario. Estimate of total oop……34 cents, if that! I’m just glad I don’t have to try to catch these deals early next week b/c I have a full week ahead. Good luck guys!!

    • .Jennifer

I just got back from CVS and shopped this week’s deals & next week’s deals (except for the three day sale… I can now confirm that the ECBs won’t print until tomorrow).

There are definately some advantages to shopping two weeks at once. There is a deal if you buy two of the Olay body washes you get $5.00 ECB that ends tonight. The cost before coupons is $12.00 and cost after coupons is $4.00 each ($8.00). Well the $12.00 applies to the spend $20.00 in any Olay and get $10.00 ECB deal that starts tomorrow (but that you can start shopping at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday).

I bought the two body washes (I got the ribbons), a package of Olay daily facials cleansing cloths and the Foaming facewash (added bonus is this is the same stuff that I have been using every morning since I was in high school-love when I can get my favorites!). With all of my coupons and the ECBS from the body wash and the other products I made $1.00.

This is only good this evening but if anyone still hasn’t bought the body washes yet go buy those and two cheap cleaners use the cleanser coupons from PG 6/07 or PG 7/05 and use the coupons from the 7/05 for the body wash and you can do this deal too!

Here are the deals I am talking about:

      Ends tonight:
$5 ECB wyb (2) Olay Body Wash at $6 ea (limit 1)<— the ad showed ribbons too and at my store that was cheaper
-$1 off Olay Body Wash PG 6/07
-$2 off Olay Body Wash PG 7/05 (use 2 coupons, makes it $1.50 ea)

Starts tomorrow (but you can buy now):
$10 ECB wyb $20 in any Olay products
-$1 off Olay Body Wash PG 6/07
-$2 off Olay Body Wash or Shower Lotion PG 7/05
-$1 off Olay Facial Moisturizer or Cleanser PG 6/7, 7/05
-$1 off Olay Hand or Body Lotion PG 7/05
-$1 off Olay Bar Pack PG 7/05

    • Max

A bit off topic . . . but does anyone know if CVS will take recently expired ECBs? I had an emergency crop up this last week and didn’t have a chance to roll $8 in ECBs which expired the 7th.

Does anyone have any experience using recently expired ECBs? Will they give you a hard time or not take them at all?

      • Jenny

        Max,

They will usually push them through if you are nice and they are only a few days old so just go in tomorrow and ask nicely. It is up to the cashier so hopefully it will go your way!

    • Cindy

My CVS let me use expired ECBs a couple of weeks ago. They were super nice about it. I’m in Alabama.

    • Elizabeth

      Jennifer (Comment 82),
I just got back from my local CVS and while the first deal worked, the second didn’t. The “Shift Supervisor” told me that I need to come back tomorrow and talk to a manager…hopefully I can get the ECBs manually printed. Otherwise, I’m returning all the stuff (b/c I don’t really need it, especially if its not free!) and I’ll lose all those coupons. : ( Any ideas on why you think it didn’t work for me? Do stores have to manually switch over to the new ad to get ECBs to print?

    • Julie

Just got back from my 24 hr CVS and it went exactly as planned! Only did the 1st 3 transactions of the Grand Plan (school supplies) b/c I’m out of the $2 coupons for the Tylenol so I wanted to see if I could re-figure the rest for tomorrow. One tough thing that must be a trend with my CVS is that NONE of the sale/ECB tags were up (none last week at midnight either). So, I had to guess but I chose the right stuff.

They seemed to be low on the glue and 1-subject notebooks unless theyll be restocking tonight, so I’m glad I went when I did. Hubby is keeping 1 pack of pens for work but the rest is getting donated, all for $0.12 out of my pocket. Southern Savers is awesome!

    • Lori

Just returned from my 24 hour CVS on Assembly Street in Columbia. I have a card and so does my boyfriend. We each had a little over $18 ECB to start our trip with so we didnt do individual transactions we did one each. This CVS location did not have their signage up as well but they did have plenty of all of the free items. We just read the ad carefully and everything worked out. We each got 2 rulers, 2 1 subject notebooks, 2 bottles of glue, 2 scissors and 3 8packs of pens. We walked out with as many ECB as we had when we entered. The only downside of this trip, was that the cashier tried to tell us that we couldnt use “that many” ECB in one transaction. The manager came up and everything was settled. Good Luck to everyone in snatching up these great deals this week!

****I was going to do the 7.99 photo album deal, but after reading the comments, I saw posts about having to bring photos with you to fill the book. Jenny, Could you clarify this deal for me??****

      • Jenny

You do need to bring in the photos and make the book in the store to get the Free book. You do it at the Kodak yellow kiosk area in the photo center. They will tell you to come back later to pick it up so just make sure you come back and pay before the end of the week.

    • On my way to CVS right now. Checked the CVS ECB sight, and see I have a $.50 coupon to print for the 2% spring cash back! Something is better than nothing!

    • Dai

    • Aimee

Just returned from CVS with 2 rulers, 2 bottles of glue, 2 scissors, 3 packs of pens, 5 pocket folders, 2 composition books and 2 5-subject notebooks. I only spent $1.26 on all of this and received $10.98 in ECB’s for next time. What a deal! My CVS was short on supplies and none of them were marked. Take your ad with you and make sure you match up the brand, number of pages, size etc… Will save you a hassle at checkout.

    • Christina

Went to CVS this morning and followed Jenny’s plan. They didn’t have the scissors in stock the manager said he forgot to order them but they should be here Wednesday. “I heard a long story on how FL does things different with school supplies”” CVS likes to keep beach stuff out longer before putting school supplies out.” But anyways I spent $2.42 oop and still have ECB of $6 for next time. I ask about the photo book and the mgr. said yes you have to make it in the store.

    • Christina

Also THANK YOU so Jenny for all you do.

    • Janet

I was disaapointed to find that there wasn’t an Electrasol coupon in my 7/12 SS as indicated in your list. I don’t know if perhaps my coupon insert was missing a page or if possibly all the inserts are not the same based on location. At least I was able to get all the “FREE” items CVS had but only by going to the store within 10 minutes of opening.

    • Tarrah R.

      Jenny,
I know this is not the right place for this question, so sorry for clogging up the comments to read through, there was no comment option on the prescription site, so I came here. Is there any un-expired coupons for the $25 gift cards with new or transferred scripts, or have most pharm’s stopped using this promo? Thank you! God Bless!

    • Does anyone know where to find the $2.00 of a $10.00 at CVS?

    • Aymie,
I’ve never done a CVS photo book before but in general they are books with glossy pages and a hard cover. You arrange your pictures as you like them, as many per page as you’d like really almost like making a scrapbook digitally and then it’s printed in book form. You can put captions, etc under the photos. They make awesome gifts. For each of my girls I have begun doing one for each birthday so that when they are older we can go back and look at the changes year to year. HTH

    • Mal

I know this may sound silly, but I do have a question about the photos. Do we have to pay only 7.99 for the pictures and CVS photo book or do we have to pay extra money for the photos. I have never done this before.

    • Max,

I think it depends on your store. I’m in california, and one store by my work will take any CVS expired coupons including ecb’s within one month of expiration. The cvs’s by my home will not. I’d call and ask. ;)
      good luck!

    • Mandie

Thanks Jenny, I saved a ton of $$ today and got loads of useful school supplies! you’re the best! Our CVS Dallas Bay TN had tons of school supplies (thank goodness, usaully when I get there Sunday AM they are sold out!)

    • Jennifer

I had a new one happen to me today. Went to CVS #1 and the transaction went fine. Went to CVS #2 and when I handed her all my ECB’s to pay with, she did the first two and then the 3rd she handed me back and said she couldn’t use it. It was for .99 and my total before taxes was still $5. I asked why she couldn’t use it and she said we are only allowed to use so many ECB’s per transaction and that the machine had just beeped at her (which I did hear it beep) indicating I had reached my max. I told her that was the first I had ever heard of that. I didn’t argue with her simply b/c they don’t expire until August and b/c I know I’ll be back next week for all next week’s school supplies. Has anyone had this happen to them? If they are going to start pulling this baloney, then I will just start doing things in multiple transactions rather then being polite and doing just the one.

    • .Jennifer

      Elizabeth (#86)

I am sorry that it didn’t work for you. :-( The good news is though that when I have returned things that didn’t work I have gotten the money from the coupons (because they will still get the money from the manufacturer) so even though you will lose coupons you’ll get the money. I know that it makes it more difficult if you need the coupons later but at least it is better than completely losing out.

Hopefully the shift supervisor will be able to manually push through the ECB. Let us know what happens. My fingers will be crossed for you.

    • I heard that the Kodak photobooks are really limit 5. Multiple people have confirmed this around the country although I haven’t gotten to try it out yet. :) I made some of these several weeks ago when they were BOGO. You just bring your pictures on a jump drive or your photo memory card and stick it in those free standing machines and create your books. You could make separate books or get 5 copies. I don’t think you can make these online b/c they print at the actual photo kiosk and then the CVS folks bind them into a book for you. HTH! :)

    • Jennifer

I just discovered on another website why that .99 ECB didn’t go through. It wasn’t b/c I had reached my limit, it was b/c apparently my ECB on the CVS pantiliners last week printed for .99 instead of .89 and so the machine throws it out saying “exceeds maximum value.) Apparently the cashier needs to know in order to push it through, thus explaining why the other one worked at CVS #1 (I have 2 CVS cards, I know, shame on me!!!)

    • Kathryn

I just got back from CVS this afternoon. I spent $4.65 OOP and saved $72.62. I had 3 transactions and started out with $10.49 in ECB. I am sooo happy!!! Thanks Jenny for your wonderful website!!!

    • Teresa-QOCD

Grrrrrr Im so upset. I couldnt find my $10 off $50 at checkout. I had to pay $8 for $56 -oh well, I still have $32 ECBs left for next week.

    • claudine

most of us do have more than one card :) a lil sneaky yes but its just so hard to limit yourself on an amazing deal~

    • lynn

on the rulers they ecbs did not print so thr casshier did it seperatly just remember to check that all of them printed

    • lynn

now if you can do 5 photo books they would make wonderful presents for grandparents aunts or other relitives

    • lynn

they didnt have the signs up here either npr florida hmm

    • Baker

I was tired, hadn’t had my coffee, and was trying to get there before all the items were gone. We have 3 CVS stores in my town but I didn’t have on make up and was in clothes that could have been PJs but really weren’t, although I can’t swear I didn’t sleep in them, and went to the closest CVS. Get this, they didn’t have ANYTHING marked. I basically had to grab a cashier to be my personal assistant this morning. And they didn’t have 1/2 what I needed to make my transactions work, I got fuzzyheaded, and then everything went black and I swooned… Okay, not really, but I screwed up my transactions and wound up spending OOP more than I could have. How did it all go so wrong? Had I been properly presentable I would have ditched it all and gone to the other more trendy CVS but the savings vs running into the PTA president while in my Pjs that looks like they could be slouchy clothes was too low.

Alas, I have $4 in CVS ECB for next weeks Sunday morning fuzzy headed adventure.

    • KathyM

Can someone clarify the Tylenol coupons listed for 6/21/09 in Smart Source? I have 3 sets and there are no Tylenol coupons, so I can’t figure out if it’s me or a typo… are there SUPPOSED to be Tylenol coupons in SS for 6/21?

      Thanks! Kathy

    • Ashley

      Kathy M,
It may have been a regional coupon, so you might not have gotten it.

      Ashley

    • FYI – I did not get the $1/off Scott coupons in my inserts at all(Knoxville, TN) but the night before I had grabbed one of the $2/off Scott MegaRolls 4-pack thinking that was the coupon I needed. Anyway it was still in my pile for my trip to CVS this am and they took it. I would’ve have been FINE if they hadn’t b/c I didn;t even think of it until I looked at the receipt later trying to figure what the heck the $2 coupon was.

I also ended up getting the 4 Pepsi 12-packs for $12 b/c DH was out. This is something I’d buy at the grocery story anyway which never has coupons, and since it spit out another $2 ECB for next week, I didn’t feel too bad. Overall, about $83 in products for $17 OOP (consider that $12 of that was Pepsi!).

    • Rebecca

Just a note on the scott paper towels. My store in Anderson SC was out of these, and they told me I could substitute CVS brand. I was slightly disappointed, however, was thrilled when I checked out, and got 2 ECB’s! So, net, I got those paper towels for 3.50. Does anyone know about what the limits are on this? I can’t find any documentation on this deal anywhere. I need to go get more if I can!!!

    • I went to cvs this afternoon. They have no school supplies. They will not give a rain check for the three day sale. They were out of a lot. All I got was the razor and special ks. I think more people are couponing now.Good for them bad for me.

    • Brandi McCandless

Went into CVS early this am and again…the FREE deals were NOT marked. So I grabbed the sales flyer and found all the things I needed and the cashier said “I can’t believe you found these things. We were told not to put stickers on them so we would not run out so quickly!” Can you believe that????
Then the scanner would not spit out any coupons for me, she said that CVS corp. was trying to slow down on the CRT’s!!! Please say it aint sooo!

    • That’s funny! I went into CVS this morning also and there were no stickers. I did the same thing you did, but the items rung up at the correct sale price and the ECb’s printed. That’s why there were so many items on the shelves.

    • BTW…Everyone with cvs cards, make sure your card is registered on their site…each quarter they will give you a coupon for 2% of your purchase of the quarter that you can print or use online…i decided to check the site this morning and there was a $.50 extra buck that expired in August. My 2% wasn’t much but it helped. HTH

      AmyinLA comment #77
I got a laugh about the comment of dragging your hubby at midnight to show him how it works. My hubby has been with me both times I’ve tried the ‘CVSing’, he helps to break up the multiple trans. and he is in awe at how it all works. I just started the entire couponing deal a month ago, and my savings are absolutely incredible! Your Husband is sure to be so proud seeing you in action! ;-)

    • Jennifer

OK I went to CVS yesterday at 4:00. All they had was the siscors and one glue….they weren’t out of everything else and said they wouldn’t give me a raincheck on the three day sales! I am going to try two more today but I bet they are all out as well. :(

    • Kristen R

Went to CVS in Mt. Pleasant (HGWY 41) yesterday around 6PM they had all 3 day sales items except papermates pens. Thanks for this website it is great and has helped my family saved money.

    • Help!! You have all talked about the $2.00 off #10.00 cvs coupon. Where is that from? What about the $10 off $50?

    • Emily

One of my receipts printed a Huggies wipes coupons – can I combine that at CVS with a manufacturer’s coupon?

    • Lori

I just got back from my CVS in Kennesaw, GA. They had all the free items. Not only were all the items marked, but the sales clerk walked me around with the sale circular and helped me get them all. I bought the max!! Then I went to get my 6×8 photo book and the lady said that cutting the 6×8’s are a pain and asked me if I wanted an 8×10 for the same price……. ???
      Free 8×10… Ill take it!

There was another lady in line and she did multiple transactions with ECB’s(obviously a SS reader..) the cashier was VERY friendly and helpful to her as well.

    • Stephanie

      Jennifer G –
I totally feel the same way. I don’t shop on Sundays. Went in to CVS today (Monday) to get the deals and they appeared to be all out. I asked the cashier why they were always out of sale items and he told me that they weren’t out – that they had them in the back but just didn’t have anyone to stock them! I could hardly believe it. He asked me if I could come back later in the afternoon! Me, with my three children, come back? I said no and left. I think that is my last attempt at CVS shopping. I had to spend my ECB because they expired today anyway.

    • Amy in LA

      Tarrah #121:

So we went at midnight… he pretended to read a magazine while I was checking out but i caught him watching. LOL Kudos to your husband for helping!

    • Thanks for the great scenarios everyone ! Sometimes the brainwork of couponing fries my noggin totally !

      Jennifer G.
I don’t shop on Sunday either. Good for you ! I have some really great cashiers at the stores here and managers who happily write out rain checks if everything is wiped out from the free or moneymakers. I have told them I don’t shop on Sunday and they respect me for it and try to help whenever possible.

Love you Jenny for all you do !

Ok, the store manager of the CVS on E. Brainerd (Chattanooga) is a real A HOLE!!! He said he would not do more then two transactions. I thought he was joking and started laughing and he was like “no, i’m not playing this game where you guys pay 10 cents for stuff”. I WILL be writing a letter to corporat. I’m pretty sure his last name was LeMann, or something like that. I will make the trip to Cleveland for my CVS purchases from now on. I have never really liked anyone at the E. Brainerd CVS anyway and they are always out of the sale stuff. I don’t know when they are going to catch on that they need to order more of the item if it on sale, duh!!! I’m very annoyed!

I need to go back and get those Honey Nut Cheerios cups. In case anyone missed the deal… they are 10 for $10, or $1 each. Here is a $1 off one coupon…

I just wanted to report that I had a very successful CVS trip this week; I love school supplies, and they actually had some left today! Woohoo! This gives me much hope for the weeks to come. =)

    • Jennifer

Has anyone had any luck at any of greenville SC or Spartanburg SC stores with any of the school supplies left? If so which stores. I won’t be able to make it until after 5. Thanks!!

    • Lindsay

Dont know if CVS Rain Checks can be used at ANY store, but I am in GA and have a couple of rainchecks for (2) Glues, (2) Pens, & (2) Scissors that I can’t use. I was able to find the stuff at a different store near my office in Atlanta. If they can be used anywhere and you need them, I will be happy to mail them. just let me know.

    • Another question on the photobooks if anyone can answer for me…
Ok, so say I want 5 like everyone is saying I can get.
I go to the Kiosk and download my pictures. I then make a book. Do I get 5 copies of the same book or do I have to make 5 different books?
Also, if I cant pick them up until they are done, do I do 5 different transactions?
      I am a little confused…
I am concerned that this will take a lot of time, I dont mind but I just dont want to put in all that effort for them to say that the limit is only one or what have you…
      Someone please help!

    • Michelle

      Hello All,
I am actually a employee of CVS and depending on the store, the Ad should start Saturday night sometime. We do this because there’s so much sales and stickers to put up, we have to start on Saturday night to have most of them up by mid day Sunday. I don’t remember who asked, but yes, if you have a raincheck, you will get the ECB when you come back to claim your raincheck. That’s why there’s an event code in the Ad & we put it on the raincheck paper that you receive. CVS actually bought out the drug store that I was working at in SC, and I’m loving the sales, they are WAY better than my old job ;)

    • Michelle

Aymie, it does take some time but it’s all worth it in the end. When it comes to the photobooks, you will have 5 different transactions but they cant be rung up at the same time when you take your receipt to the register. You can do 5 of the same book or 5 different. I have not heard what the limit is but your books shouldn’t take too long to do considering your local CVS should have all the supplies to do it right then and there, it’s just taking the 5 minutes to put each book together. Hope I helped.

Aymie, that’s a good question! Glad you asked before I go in. I’m waiting for an answer too!

    • Jamey

Diane (#124)- The coupons you mention sound like the coupons that print on your receipt like the ECB do after you do a transaction. Mine are always $5 off $25 for some reason. I have heard some stores have “price scanners” where you can scan your card and get the coupons before you check out, but I’ve never seen it at our stores.
Also, once in a blue moon I get one in my email…register yourself on CVS’s website.

Emily (#125)- Yes it is OK to combine a store coupon (CVS) with a manufacturer. I get the $2 off Huggies wipes printed off alot (must be cuz I buy a ton of baby stuff) and combine with a 75 cent MFR coupon to get the big plastic tub of wipes nearly free! :)

    • Michelle
thank you so much for your help!
I am hoping these will turn out great! I dont think I need 5, maybe 3.
I am excited, I start my Christmas shopping about now so these are definately presents!

    • JMarie

Yes, please, does someone have absolute confirmation that the photobooks are printing ECB’s for more than one book? I’ve had this happen before where people have said I could do so & then the ECB’s did not print. A photobook would not be nearly as returnable as other items & I cannot afford to spend more money if they won’t print. Also it’s so very frustrating that CVS apparently will NOT send me any of those 5 off $20, $3 off $15 q’s others always gets. My boyfriends card prints one for him almost every time. I have never gotten ONE. What is the deal with that???? Please someone confirm for sure the ECB’s will print if I do another photobook deal?

    • Mary

I am so excited! I had my best shopping (savings) trip yet with coupons and CVS. I bought $85.56 worth of stuff (at sale prices) at CVS for $4.54 out of pocket!!

      My list:
2 – Febreeze Noticeables Kits (reg. price 8.49 sale 6.50 – 2/$4.00 coupons) (I had a raincheck from last week on these)
      2 – Purex 3in1 (reg. 8.99 @ buy 1 get 1 – 2/$2.00 coupons)
      2 – Kotex Overnites (@ 2/7.00 – 1.50/2 coupon)
      2 – 3 Subject Spiral Notebooks (3.99 each)
1 – btl Clear Gel Glue (.99 each)
1 – btl White School Glue (.99 each)
      1 – Gillette Fusion Power Razor (reg. price 8.99 sale 7.99 – $4.00 coupon)
      2 – 1 Subject Spiral Notebooks (.99 each)
      2 – prs. 5″ School Scissors (2.99 each)
      1 – 12″ wooden ruler (.99 each)
      11 – 2 pocket folders (.05 each reg. price .60 each)

I started out with $8 in Extra Care Bucks and did 6 transactions!

    • I am just wondering if anyone has ever been told that you have exceded
your coupon limit at cvs. I went last week and I divided my orders which I had no problems but then I used six coupons on one order and they wouldnt take the 7th one and didnt tell me I noticed and went to the manager she sais that thier is a limit and I asked for a coupon policy she said they dont have one and that the computer says when you have exceded your limit that was my only trip that week and she finally honered it because it was a buy one get one free. Has anyone had problems and is their a limit on cupons at cvs.

      thanks Mary

    • Stephanie

      Kelly-
I went to the CVS on HWY 153 and HWY 58. The one in Hixson started at 1pm Sat. and the one on 58 started at 3pm Sat. They were really great and I got in and out with no problem.

    • JMarie – Here in Aiken, you can definitely do 5 photobooks. The Photo Tech was surprised, and also said she was going to do some books herself!

    • Jennifer

Hi I just came from the Batesville RD. CVS. The cashier confirmed that you could get 5 photo books! He was super nice. I went to the one on Pelham Rd. first and they told me absolutely no rain checks on the school supplies. Well I got 5 rainchecks No problem from Batesville Rd. Why is it that some store will do rainchecks and others will not? That makes No sense to me!

    • linds

actually the 6×8 photo book isnt a limit 1. its advertised that but its allowing five transactions worths of photo books. i work at cvs in the photo lab! you can actually get 5 photo books for the price of ONE and still end up with 7.99 in extra bucks. great for gifts!

    • Kaela

I have not tried CVSing, yet, mostly because I feel uncomfortable about making tons of small transactions and making the cashier ring everything up seperately. I am very sensitive about the possibility of putting people out. Do you think that if I had a bigger first shopping trip and just initially spent, say $40, or something, and got lots of ECB back the first time, it would kind of be the same thing, and I could just do all my trips in 1 big transaction and always have quite a bit of ECB? Or would it not work? I’m trying to figure this all out!

    • Kaela
Dont be ashamed or uncomfortable at all.
      Stand your ground, be confident!
The reason for so many transactions is so you can spend less out of pocket and pay with ECBs.
I generally say this to the cashier “I am going to do 3 seperate transactions.”
      DUN DUNNA NAHHHH
      Thats all I say :)
Never ever have I had a problem.
If you want to spend more out of pocket, do one, but if you want to be a true southern saver, bare the eye rolls and stand your ground!
      HTH

    • JMARIE
The ad says limit one, but there was a sign on the photo counter that said “limit 5 per household.”
I think the ad in the paper is a typo.
It really is 5 per household.
I did my 3 but I think I may go back and do 2 more, just cause.
Why not if theyre free right??
Good luck, trust me, its 5!

      Hi Everyone,
I have a request. If any of you have any razors or other items, that you don’t need, I would love to have them. My son has recently deployed to Iraq and told me that his two room mates won’t be receiving any care packages from home. I would love to help these two guys if any of you would be willing to help me. My e-mail is debbie.parnell@yahoo.com.

I had to buy my husband Zyrtec yesterday and since I am fairly new to all of this, I have not yet had a chance to stockpile it. At our CVS, I came across a 2 for the price of 1 pack of 30 caplets each. I bit the bullet and paid the $37.99 since I had not seen it on sale anywhere else. I had my $5 off $25 and a $4 Zyrtec coupoh along with some ECB’s to use towards it. I dreaded not getting any ECB’s back but I was pleasantly surprised to receive 8 ECB’s! I know it may not sound like a great deal, but since I wasn’t expecting to find it on sale, I thought it was a very nice surprise!

    • Amy

Gotta love CVS! I went in today to of course find they were sold out of all of the 3 day free stuff after ECBs. The cashier volunteered that she could do rainchecks for all of those items (including getting ECBs when I redeem the rainchecks).

      Kaela, #148:

The way you want to do it works fine. That is how I do it. Multiple transactions wears on my own patience, lol. Last week I had $17 ECB and I left CVS with the same amount. I actually now have $19 because my husband went and bought something and got $2 back. I just do one large transaction, but I also make sure that I am spending my ECBs on items that will generate more ECBs. However, don’t feel like you’re putting people out! As long as you are courteous to other customers I don’t see how anyone could say it is a problem. The cashiers are used to it and mostly understanding! Good luck!

    • Hi,

I am new to couponing and my friend mentioned that CVSing is the way to go. What does this mean?? I have a card but I don’t understand how to use it. ANY help would be appreciated!!

      Thanks!
      Linda

    • -e-

Just to let you know- the fusion razors also let me do 3 seperate transactions. I got back 4 in ecb each time. 3 for free!!!
      Thanks Jenny!!!

    • Linda in SC
CVSing is when you buy certain items for free, close to it, or is a money maker…
Take a look at the ad and see which items will give you ECB’s (extra care bucks).
When you see postings on here that say in () free, what it really means is you pay for it, then get your money back for that item with your receipt…
      Good luck

    • Alicia

Hey Jenny! I am a beginner. I do mean beginner. I already had a ExtraCare Card. I went to the website and signed up for email updates but they did not send me a coupon. Only a welcome letter.

    • ET

Alicia (#158), it may take a month or longer to receive your coupon.

    • Kristen

I am a beginner at this also. I went Tuesday morning and of course they were out of most of the things and I ended up spending more OOP than intended. The cashier was excellent…in fact she helped me out so much by saying no you don’t want this, lets return it and try again. I introduced myself to her and told her I was a rookie at this but I wanted to be able to save money because I was able to stay at home with my 2 month old and not have to work. She was great! • Trish

Will CVS accept the $5 coupon from Walgreens?

    • Kat

This week at CVS just gets better & better! I just received a $4 off $20 coupon in my email!

    • Aimee

Yeah, just got a $5 off a $30 purchase from CVS via email. I only registered a few weeks ago and just received a coupon. Can’t wait to combine that with my $12 in ECBs.

    • Has anyone else seen or used this coupon?

What you need to get started:
1.Original UPC codes from purchased SCOTT® Products
2.Original dated cash register receipt(s) with products and purchase prices circled
3.Fill out form below and click the Submit button. This will verify that we have all the required information and display the completed form so you can mail it in. You must include a valid e-mail address to receive the electronic coupon.
4.Print the completed form and follow the instructions at the top of the page to receive your coupon.

I am hoping someone has tried this…

    • Virginia

Trish (161) most CVS’s will not accept competitors’ ‘front end’ coupons. CVS accepts competitors’ pharmacy coupons (get a giftcard when you get a new/transferred prescription type coupons) but very very very very very few of them accept coupons for the front-end store from competitors. Ask your individual store and you might get lucky, but don’t get your hopes up too high.

    • Tarrah R.

The Photobooks are for Different or same picts. I just made 4 different ones, and all came with the ECB’s. Also, it was VERY simple to make them- I’ve never done it and it took me less than an hour to make 2 my first time. I Love them!

    • Can anyone verify how much head and shoulders are???
There is no price in the ad…
Need it for a filler item, thanks!!

    • Ok so this is my plan for tomorrow when I pick up my prints…

      Make another photobook ($7.99)
      Buy Gain detergent ($5.99)
      Buy 2 Kotex pads. ($7)

      Total due: $20.98

      Use: $5 off coupon
      $7.99 in ECB’s
      (2) $1 off coupons for Kotex.

      Total OOP: $5.99

      Earn: $11.99 in ECB’s

      Not too shabby!

    • I really didnt want to buy the pads cause I am well stocked but I have a $5 off $15 coupon and if I dont buy the pads the total will only be $13.98.
Now lets say I buy a candy bar or two, what if the total is just over $15???
And lets say I use my ECB’s and coupons, and the total is in the negative, what happens? Do I have to keep buying things til it gets to a positive amount???

      • Jenny

        Aymie,

They will not pay you so they can either “downgrade” your ECB’s to be less than the printed value to keep you in the positive or you have to keep buying stuff. I would recommend that later because it is your money and telling them to keep the change isn’t always best.

    • Samantha

I’ve been CVS ing for about 6 weeks. I started with 10 extra bucks and every week I spend about 3.00 and I end up with more extra bucks!

I had a 10 of 50.00 coupon plus 20 in extra bucks. I did 4 photo books and some other stuff and got back 31.98 in extra bucks! I spent 3.60.

I think this is an awesome way to save in case theres a bunch of stuff I need sometime. Is there anyone else that ends up with huge bucks?

    • Trish

Thank you Virginia! I just received a $4 off $20 at CVS so that will work great for me anyway!

    • Thanks Jenny
I think I will just buy the pads… I will earn ECB’s and they’re good to keep around the house.

    • Ivy

I was wondering if anyone has taken a $ off CVS coupon to the store and use on a previous purchase. I just went two days ago to buy the $20+ of Olay and the Purex B1G1. Today I got a email for $5 off $30 expires 7/19. Can I take it to my store and ask to apply it to my previous purchase?

    • Ivy
Good question, I am waiting for an answer on that too because there have been times where I wondered the same thing.

    • Kaela – I understand how you feel abt multiple transactions; I was the same way the first few wks. This past wk I bit the bullet and did it: NO problems! In fact I did it 2x b/c I shopped at midnight on Sat (into Sun) and again Sunday morning (needed the Sunday paper’s coups). The main thing is to stand your ground AND be courteous. Shopping at midnight if you have a 24 hr CVS is a great way to go b/c it’s pretty empty. When I went back in the morning, I told the cashier I was doing 2 transactions. There were people coming in, and luckily they didn’t line up until she was doing my 2nd transaction. But if they’d gotten behind me durng the 1st, I’d have just gone to the back of the line.

    • To all of you wondering what in the world to do with Tylenol arthritis…read the label. Active ingredient is 650 mg acethominophen, just like regular tylenol. The insert says you can use for headaches, menstrual cramps, mild arthritis and the like. Which leads me to believe that it is just regular tylenol marketed differently to persuade poor old people who are hurting to buy an overpriced product. Grrrr….

    • Julie, I felt the same way, but I did 2 transactions on Sunday. I had 4 but I didn’t want to “overdue” it. The cashier was so excited the he begged me to go ahead and do the third transaction. It was really awkward so I left and returned on my way out of town to do the last 2.

    • Dana

Has anyone successfully used BOTH the B1G1 and $2/2 Head & Shoulders q’s? I bought 2 shampoos today and tried to use both q’s but the register wouldn’t take both. The cashier said I could only use 1 q per item, but I had 2 items and 2 q’s. She said that because one was a B1G1 (meaning I would have to get 2 items) and the other was a discount off 2 items, that I could only use one q. I don’t understand why I couldn’t use both.

Also, FYI, I was able to use the $2.50 off $10 in pain reliever that expired 3 days ago. And, I was able to use 2 q’s I had for “any EXTRA STRENGTH Tylenol product” even though neither of the 2 products that qualify for the ECB are extra strength. So, I made money off that deal:).
