diy garden markers

Need a last minute gift for a gardener or a cook?  How about these herb markers?

Supplies:

-Sculpey Polymer Clay
-Knife
-Letter Stamps
-Wax Paper
-Cookie Sheet

marker2

Roll out the Sculpey into about 1.5″ balls onto a piece of wax paper.  Roll those into “snakes” the length of your garden markers.

marker3

Then, flatten out the snakes with either a rolling pin or with your hands.  Shape up the edges to how you want them to look when the marker is done.  Cut one end at a sharp angle with a knife.

marker4

Use your stamp letters to write out the name of the herbs on one end of the marker.  Stamp the names on both sides.

marker 5

Put the markers on a cookie sheet and bake them in the oven according to the package directions.

To complete the gift, wrap these herb markers with the packaged herbs and the garden pots for growing.  You’re done!  Now for the hard part of making the herbs grow.
