This coming Saturday, January 22nd, get $5 off any $25 purchase at Dollar General with this printable coupon.

Every time I use one of these my receipt then prints another one for my next purchase, so this could be the start of fun things for you at DG.

Tip: My store requires that your total by $25 after coupons so ask first.

    • Jen

First! You can print it twice by hitting the back button. My Publix will take 2 of these if you spend at least $50 BEFORE coupons. I love them. So going on Saturday to snag the sweet deals and get an extra $10 off in the process. =-)

      • Amy

Where are you located? Just wondering if my Publix would take them, too!

        • Livserge331

My Publix in Brunswick, GA, takes them!

          • Amy

Do you have to use the coupon at Publix on the date its good for (01/22)?

            • Lucy2778

Yes, my Publix will take a competitor coupon on the date that's printed on the coupon.

    • tygirl13

Anyone have any ideas for stuff to get at Dollar General? These come up and I don't really know the best way to use them… I don't go that often and have never taken the time to canvas how they are re: price comparisons.

      • mamac

I get their wrinkle release spray – one bottle is $1.75. The Downy version at Wal-Mart is almost $6. I don't think I will be able to buy $25 worth of wrinkle release spray, so I will be interested in seeing what other people post.

      • Kristin

They have lots of grocery items and toys at great prices. They just only have one or two brands of a particular item. Ex. Coffee – 8 o'clock and maxwell house

The last time they had the $5 off Q, I bought 8 bags of 8 o'clock coffee (on sale for $3.50) plus a couple of other small items. My total after all Qs was around $10.

    • Sissy Powell1978

We have a Dollar General Market in our area and they put out a booklet each month of store coupons…..This past January they have 4 store coupons if you purchased $10 or more you got a dozen eggs for 1 penny….something to take a look at

    • Monica

Publix on Two Notch SC does not take these!

    • C~~

The items I tend to buy at Dollar General are styrofoam cups 60ct $1.00, styro plates $1.25, paper towels 3-pack $1.25 – buy most of these items for the office, granted most of these are DG brand, but fairly good prices. Also, get lots of snacks, pens, calendars, cleaning supplies. The also carry name brand items. Hope this helps.

If you have pets and buy dog or cat food, this comes in handy. I usually but their store brand dry dog food, which compares with Kibbles & Bits. The large bag runs about $7.00, but they run it on sale ofter and my dogs love it! They also have Tidy Cat Cat Litter for about $4.00 a 17-20 lb. bag, Alpo Canned Dog Food for .70 cents, Friskies Canned for .50 cents, and Temptations cat treets 2 for $3.00 . They take coupons. too.

    • Nancy

The last time I did this deal, my store took the $5/25 q first. I save my q's that are for free items (Excedrin, etc.) and use them at this time so as to bring the total down some more. I'll probably get some Snuggle dryer sheets with the q from Sunday's inserts, Valentine cards, etc.

    • Butterhead16

I am admitting to the whole world here but food stamps do not count towards the $25! If any portion of your total includes food that is paid for using a food stamp debit, the food DOES NOT COUNT toward the $25. Just an fyi. And personally, I think they should have to state that on the exclusions or fine print of the coup

      • brandy

They shouldn't do that, the people at the f/s office actually encourages you to use coupons. So I don't understand why you cant use the coupon.

      • Jen B.

That seems unethical for them to do that. What does it matter if you're using food stamps? It's still a form of money to buy food. That's just not cool.

    • Smpadge

My Dollar General had the Olay Body Wash on sale for $2. The regular price is $3.50 so if you still have $2 off olay coupons from the 12/26 P&G insert they are FREE!!!!

    • katherine jolly

i use mine at publix they will take it

      • Amy

Do you have to use the coupon at Publix on the date its good for (01/22)?

        • Lilnascar97

When I have used competitor coupons at Publix they go by the dates on the coupon.

    • Ivajean

Will DG take the 5.00 off 25.00 before your other coupons, thus lowering your oop.

      • Susangoff

in my experience, no they will not.

The system will not let you have the $5 dollars off if your total goes below the $5 dollars. I have even given them the store first, then manufactures and the system will void the $5 dollar coupon if it goes below, after the man q's!

    • kay

I am pretty sure you can use this coupon at Harris Teeter. They have that policy that they accept competitor coupons, so if you buy $25 worth at HT use it. And if you use alot of other coupons, then you are getting some great deals.

    • Kay

Another deal is their Puppy Chow is usually $4.50 and there are $2 coupons on their site. If you bought 6 bags for a total of $27 minus the 6 ($2 coupons) equals $15 and minus the $5 off $25 equals $10, you have bought 6 bags for $10 which is $1.66 each and give to a local animal shelter.

      • Meme

Use the $5 off first. If the total goes below $25 they may not allow the $5 off coupon.

    • Gardener1941

I work at Publix and we do not take !

      • Yvonnestillwell

My Publix takes these. Some do and some don't.

    • Theresa

Dollar General here won't take internet coupons.

      • Kay

Hey Theresa, I am adding the Dollar General Coupon Policy. Print it out and take it to your Dollar General. According to it, they do take Internet coupons and if they have a problem, ask to speak to there district manager first, and then if that don’t work, call the corporate office. http://www.dollargeneral.com/OurStores/Pages/CouponPolicy.aspx

        corporate office #
        Phone: 615-855-4000

      • Jen B.

I would talk to the manager. How can they not accept their own internet coupon?

    • Kimhammon

my store will have a coupon at the register and use it if you don't have yours!

    • Lucy2778

My Publix takes these, considering DG also sells food, so I'll use it in Publix. My Publix does require that a store coupon of this kind be used after coupons.

    • Jen B.

I LOVE that HT takes this coupon! Thanks for posting. :-)

Tip 1: On the Dollar General coupon page there is another $5 off $25 purchase coupon redeemable on Friday 1/28/2011 ( http://www.dollargeneral.com/c… ).
Tip 2: DG also sells Mueller's pasta for $1 a box (not all types, but at my DG store at least angel hair and elbows). At the Mueller's pasta website you can print out as many coupons as you like for $1 off per box, just register and click on coupons ( http://www.muellerspasta.com/c… ). Before printing these, check your printer options where it says how many copies you want, so you don't have to keep clicking the print button. But make sure you have enough paper in your printer since it comes out one coupon per page. A lot of cities have several DG stores, so if one store is out, go to the next! I stocked up on pasta with this for at least a year :-)
