This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m excited to announce that I’m a new Dollar General ambassador.  A few years ago I wouldn’t have been too excited, we had one nearby but didn’t always venture in… after having kids I’m giddy.  Many of you know that we live in the boonies.  You might even say we are past the boonies and around the corner…  The nearest milk for us is 15 minutes away.  As of writing this though the nearest milk just became a brand new Dollar General less than 10 minutes away!  Seriously I cheered when we saw the sign go up!

If you don’t venture into your DG store often let me share a few of the deals you are missing just for summer time.  For us they are a go to for small kids toys.  We travel a lot during the summer and this is my go to for coloring books, and small activities that we can do in a hotel room.  Most kids activity sets are right around $1.

If you are hitting the beach then check out the floats and swimming toy section.  They have floats starting at $2 and lots of water toys that are only $1.  For us after a week of use at he beach a pool float usually doesn’t make the trip home, so $2 is a perfect price!

Another big summer necessity in our house… bubbles.  Seriously.  I can get Bubble wands for $1 and then buy a big huge bottle of replacement bubbles for $1.25. They also have packs of bubble accessories for $1.

You can tell my focus is on keeping kids entertained.  It’s very important to my sanity!  This past week we also found lots of deals to get you ready for your summer cookout, rom 50¢ ketchup to $1 hotdog and hamburger buns.  I even found tons of instore coupons next to products.  Don’t forget the DG takes manufacturer coupons too!

Two last tips if you are stocking up for summer at your DG: look for clearance items that can be up to 50% off the marked price.  I found a number of books that were $2 after clearance.  Also don’t forget to check at Dollar General to see if they have a printable coupon for $5 off $25 purchase.  These are usually only good for select days, but well worth using if you can!
