earthday

Okay let’s get serious about tomorrow.

I’ts Earth Day, which I guess is a special thing, but for us it means a lot of great deals!  This is going to take a plan, excuted perfectly you should have a blast and rack up.

First gather what you need before leaving:

  1. Empty Color or Black ink cartridge
  2. Clean & Empty Travel Coffee Mug
  3. (6) Empty Soda Bottles or Cans
  4. Empty or mostly used bottle of face wash

Since I don’t know the layout of your town this is my plan:

  • Drop ink cartridges by Walgreens for $1 color and black refills!
  • Head to Books A Million, fill my new Babies R Us Bag will books and get 20% off everything
    • Drink my free coffee
    • Contemplate where to plant my free seeds

If you have extra energy you can also:

    • SSheila

Hello. I'm just tuning in to the $1 ink at Walgreens :) Do I need a coupon? Is there a limit? Thanks!!

      • Limit 1 per person (so take a kid or two) there is a coupon in the weekly ad, just grab it when you get there.

        • Jenn

          Thanks for this info!

          • Jenn

my cashier this AM said that there is no limit! and you don't need the coupon bc they just have it there at the register! I'm going to take several more to get filled this afternoon!

      • Wendy_in_GA

I had two ink refills this morning so I took in two coupons. My Walgreen's cashier said he didn't need both coupons. If you don't have the flyer, you may print the coupon off their electronic weekly ad.

    • April

Do you need a coupon for the bag tag or do you just take one up to the counter and it rings free? Thanks!!!!!

      • It is 99 cents but then you will get 99 cent eCB back right then from buying it.

        • April

Yay… I'm so excited for my day! Thanks so much!

    • Amy in AL

Where does the free coffee come in – at Books A Million? Or somewhere else? This sounds fun – thanks!!

      • debbie

Jenny posted something earlier about free coffee at BaM.

    • Christin

It seems that Walgreens does not refill Epson ink cartridges. Does anyone know where I can get them refilled–even if it's not for a good deal tomorrow. It will still be better than buying one brand new.

      • alison v.

i gave up on refillables with our epson. i go to office depot instead. you get $3 on your rewards card for each empty you bring back. you have to spend as much as you earn each quarter. when you buy ink, you get $$ back and you get q's almost weekly on their email list. they carry high capacity ink for epson as well as a pack that has the 3 colors and 1 black in one box. i think they are reasonably priced. i buy the ink with my rewards gift card and q and then i've spent what i needed to earn the money on the cartridges i turned in!

      • Brooke

I get my on ebay for 24 Non-OEM Ink for Epson 4 each color for $35.49 & free shipping

    • I was hoping you could explain the CVS bucks to me. I am not really understanding it fully. I know I have some but I am unsure how to really use them. thanks

      • rydergal

You can use them to buy anything you want at CVS (except giftcards, and a few other exclusions…printed on the ECB). If you buy something that is giving ECB's this week, you'll get more ECB's. Check out Jenny's CVS getting started guide (click CVS at the top of the screen under her title banner) for more info.

        • happymom

The best way to describe Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) is that you use them like monopoly money. You get ECBs on certain purchases, then you can spend them however you like… but the most fun way is to only purchase items with ECBs that give you ECBs. For example if Pampers daipers give you $5 ECBs- I have $5 ECB already and I use them to buy Pampers diapers. After coupons I owe $6. I use my $5 ECBs and pay only $1, then get $5 back in ECBs on my receipt to use on another purchase. You can split up transactions to make the most of your money. Jenny's Getting Started Guide is a great tool. Of all the drug stores, CVS is the easiest for me. You don't have to wait on a rebate check and the cashiers are awesome at letting you do multiple transactions. Hope this helps!

What a full day of fun! I am definitely doing the ink!

don't forget the free bag deal at earth fare! and lowe's has b1g1 2-pk cfl bulbs, b1g1 veggie plants and seed packs, and b1g1 shopping bags!

      • renamac

wow thanks I want to go to Lowes.

    • Love your post!!! What a great idea to actually suggest a plan of the day to get all the freebies!! Your such an inspiration…..

    • JeannieT

I want the origins freebie but they are not participating in North Carolina. DARN!

    • Melissa

Who is giving away free coffee?

      • renamac

Booksamillion but bring your own reusable cup.

    • Lana

I know the 1.75 shipping is steep for a Kelloggs bag but what a cute gift bag for a child. Then it can become a toy tote or whatever. I heard a suggestion lately too that the cute bags that Publix gets in and we get for free make great gift bags that the recipient can then use. I do not need another shopping tote for me-I have about 3 dozen in my trunk!

    • Brandy G.

Thank you so much for compiling this list~I had hoped you would since I forgot to make notes of all the great deals tomorrow!!

    • knittershannon

Is it possible to get a refill on kodak? I use my boyfriends printer a lot to print coupons out & would like to find the cheapest way to get ink (we are about out of color!) thanks!!

    • There is a display at my food lion with the kellogg's bags (they are actually really cute!). You get one free in-store when you buy 2 cereals.

      • renamac

        awesome thanks for sharing

    • Patti

Our Earth Fare is having an event with music, etc. Fun way to use their coupon this week!

    • I am not sure, this sounds like a lot of work and spending money on gas to get from one place to the other. By the time I drive to Babies R Us and back, I would have spent the 20% that I was trying to save. I just started couponing again after many years of not doing so. I am learning from my mistakes that I make using the CVS bucks in the right order:) I am sure there is a learning curve to this.

      • Oh to be in a somewhat big city (Montgomery, AL) where every store I need is within a 5-10 mile drive (max) and so to do all this running around costs less than $3 in gas… probably less than $2… although I personally did not take advantage of any of these deals… it is still good on days that I do need to hit up several stores.

Just to let everyone know the Walgreens I went to this morning said that they were unable to refills on Kodak. They said that it was not in their system. Kodak only has one color cartridge and one black cartridge so if you have these you are probably out of luck.

    • rosewood4

If you have Kodak Walgreens wont be able to fill them. It seems they are not in the system.

    • Jennifer

Where do the free seeds come from? Or is that just the B1G1 at Lowe's?

    • tracy

salvation army in salisbury, nc had no idea what we were talking about when I asked about the clothes for 99 cents. too bad for us.

    • SS

I just went by Walgreens to drop off ink. Got the scoop on the refills. The photo clerk said you can't refill cartridges that come with a printer. If your color and black are the same number (like HP 60) they can't refill those. I happen to have a HP 74 and 75 so they worked. He let me get both, said the coupon didnt have a limit, but they were enforcing a limit of 2. (Greenville, SC)

      • Jamie

I went to the Wags in Atlantic Beach NC and they had no limit on how many you could get filled. I dropped off 12 with no problem!

    • For those of you in N CHARLESTON, SC – I happened to be out anyway today and stopped by Babies R Us just to get the reusable bag (I was at Target next door and hey, who doesn't like free bags). They do NOT have them in stock but are still honoring the coupon for the 25% off of a bag full. :)

    • annie

Salvation Army in Bluffton, S.C. called the manager about the clothing 99 cent sale but they did not know anything about it

    • Karen

At my Lowes Foods in Wake Forest, NC they had the Kelloggs reusable bags “Buy 2 Kelloggs cereals 10 oz or larger, get a free bag” I think it will go through Tuesday

    • melody

walgreens won't refill my cannon ink cartridges :(

    • Debra

Walgreen wouldn't refill my HP yesterday, but they have done it before. Did anyone get anything refilled?

    • Leah_in_SC

I did go to BRU for the bag deal yesterday and I found a few extra bonus deals. Auro-Dri swim drops (ear drops that dry up the water in your ears after swimming) were on clearance for $.98, plus they were bogo 50% off because they are listed as suncare, and on top of that they had $2.00 MIR on each package. So I paid $1.49 for two and I'll get $4.00 back. I also found some Neutrogena face moisturizer on clearance for $1.98 (regular price 11.99). All that plus some shoes and swimwear for my little man and a cute bag. It was certainly worth my time.
