Many of you know that we homeschool, so I thought I’d share some plans I gathered as we worked through government and learning about the Electoral College and the Election process.  No matter what party affiliation you have, knowing how things were set up at the founding of our nation and seeing how they work today is a great lesson for us all.

Step away from the negativity everywhere and use this time as a teaching moment.

Thank you, Jeni! I had built an election unit into the plan this fall, so these are some wonderful resources! It’s been neat to based the lessons on current events because it really stuck in our kids heads. In September we had weather knowing we usually get some notable storm this time of year in Florida, and our capstone event wound up real hurricane preparedness with Hurricane Matthew finished with a visit to the weather center a week later! I don’t think my son will forget that unit. Thanks so much for your help! If you’re ever looking for a unit we can help with, I’d be happy to pass on what we have.
