Our family gets really excited about school supplies… especially about fancy things to help us out with homeschooling.  I’ve been wanting a laminator for so long to help make some of our school lessons last a little longer, needless to say I basically giddy at the chance to review one and give one away to you guys!!

We got our Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator last week and went crazy.

Laminating just makes me happy, it’s a lot harder for papers to get dirtied by little hands.  If I could, I would laminate absolutely everything in my house.  Not only does laminating make anything basically child-proof, but it turns anything into a whiteboard!  It’s a fun and different way for the kids to learn.  We can laminate our class maps, place mats, art projects, and everything else under the sun.

I was prepared to have to clear out an entire corner of a room when I heard this laminator was coming.  When I think “laminator” I think about the huge machines that were always in the teacher’s lounge.  The Saturn 2 95 came, and I was very happy that the size is much smaller than I was expecting.  I don’t even have to worry about it burning anyone because it has Heatguard Technology which keeps the heat inside and safe to use around kids.  It also has a release lever, making it easy to re-center stalled pouches and  prevent jams.

I know you want to join me in laminating your entire house…

Right now, you can grab the Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator for $59.99 after this weeks’ sale and a  a $50 rebate at Staples (reg $159.99).

If you’re like me and want as many ideas to laminate as possible, Fellowes has an online center with more laminating ideas.

I work for a high school and we have our football field house set waayyyyy apart from the school.  Therefore when we need something down there laminated, we do one of two things, take 20 minutes to make the hike up and laminate it (if there is no line) or deal with it un-laminated.  To have our own laminator would be GLORIOUS!!!

The LAST thing my sister ever said on Facebook before she died on April 25th in a car accident… “Who doesnt like big thick tufts of butthair?” (you’de just have to see the whole conversation..But sh was crazy and outspoken and not shy at all. So when Im having a hard day and miss her, I can have my own permanent copy, LAMINATED , of her last ever fb post.

    • Amanda R.

I, too, have been wanting a laminator since FOREVER. With money tight since the birth of our daughter, I can’t really afford to go out and buy one. But hey, a momma can dream about all the things she’d laminate, right? I’d start with my sweet baby girl’s hand and foot prints from the hospital. I envision them as large magnets on the fridge. Just slap some of those large, square magnets that come attached to the front of your phone book on the back and, ta-da! Something that usually ends up shoved in a box or drawer somewhere becomes a reminder of how sweet and little she used to be.

My mother, who is 92, has collected files of memorabelia since the 1950’s and she wants to organize it all into scrapbooks for my sisters and myself.  She was a librarian in her heyday, so you can only imagine all the photos and certificates and announcements, etc. that she has gathered.  There are a lot of old papers that have started to disintigrate and photos that have been damaged by time that she would love to preserve in order to hand them down to us and our kids.  One piece in particular is a photo of my father, taken in 1940 as a young man.  He died in 1986.  The photo has gotten torn while in storage and I plan to have it restored for her. But I would still like to laminate the original.

I am a pre-school teacher, part-timer teaching language arts in after-school program, and am also a volunteer teaching at the Sunday bible school at our church and am greatly involved with the vacation bible school during the Summer. I am also a Mom of 2 daughters (7 and 4).
Among all my roles and needs in my life, we constantly need just about everything laminated: from the classroom decorations, song cards, poem cards, stories note cards, lesson planner, notes and newsletters to put out on the notice board, things for the parents to sign up, name tags for my school students, arts work, calendar, …. I can’t even begin to list out everything. We mostly run all these lamination at the local library. But when the machine there broke down or when the library is out for a holiday, we sometimes bring the sheets/cards to Staples or Kinkos to get them laminated but it would cost arms & legs and it delayed our works sometimes. I have been praying and hope we can raise the funds to purchase one laminator for the church for good. If I could win this laminator, we would really put it to good use. This would be a tremendous big help and would benefit a lot of children. Thank you for sharing this “absolutely” wonderful and fantastic offer! I am saying a prayer …. hope I could win this.

    • Valerie Aponte

Oooh! I’ve wanted one my whole life but it wasn’t something I thought was affordable so I’ll likely laminate everything I own! As a Mom of three, and painfully attached to the history of anything pertaining to their lives. I raised two on my own to adulthood and I have fragile Mother’s Day cards and their art work, etc. Almost 4 years ago, I was blessed with my third love, my son, who has Autism. He is my heart and we struggle through therapies and do a lot of at home-school ‘prep’. You asked what I’d laminate FIRST? Tough question, like ‘what to save in a fire?’ As of right now, it has to be the paper he successfully wrote his name on after months of having ‘lost’ the simple skill to Autism. The tears of joy flooded the room! I am so grateful for the progress and I’m saving everything (of course) so one day he will see how strong he’s always been! Great, I’m emotional again! Lol! Thank you for the chance and for showing us a product worth saving up for!

I would laminate my grandmothers recipes. These recipes have been handed down through the years from my great great grandmother. I know I can just type them all up and have them but these are hand written recipes and just for the history of having something my great great grandmother wrote to pass down would be perfect. The paper may be yellowed from time and the edges worn from use of the recipes but I will take them just that way. I hope to be able to pass them on to my children. Yes I do use these recipes and read them from those yellowed and worn pages.

I save special projects and artwork from my children and I have to laminate them in small batches, otherwise it would cost me a fortune.  I have a poem my youngest daughter gave me for my birthday that needs to be laminated and a drawing from my eldest that I want to preserve.  Also, my baby boy (He’s 18 mos) did a painting with his hand prints and that simply HAS to be saved.  Good luck to everyone!  :)

I have many mementos that I really need to start preserving such as the handprints I took every three months of my daughter for the first 2 years.  So nice but I don’t want the paint to crack and be destroyed.  This would be handy for those as well as other critical documents to waterproof.

The first things that I would laminate are the mulititude of homeschooling supplies/documents/decorations that I plan on using this school year.  This is our first year of homeschooling & we are so excited about all of the great printouts that we finding on the internet, that really need to be laminated to be protected.

I am going to laminate my Teaching Certificate, I have been struggling to find a job teaching P-5 so I have been subbing. It has been hard not to get discouraged; I want to finally laminate my degree/certificate and hang it so I will be reminded to keep my head held high. Also a reminder to be patient the right job will come <3 :)
