Come shop with me at a Walmart in Florida as I price match Publix’s B1G1 sales to Walmart’s prices for awesome deals!

If you live in Florida, you’ve got to see this great way to save on everything from Back To School Deals to groceries. Here’s a few tips to get you started:

  • In Florida, Walmart’s policy is to match any sale in grocery store at Walmart’s price! That means B1G1, B2G3 and any other sale can be applied to Walmart’s low prices.
  • Check Southern Savers for my weekly list of Walmart Price Match Deals!
  • When you head out make sure you have an ad handy. It’s technically not necessary, but really helps when checking out.

For more, watch the video above. In case, you’re wondering, my daughters are eating lollipops so they ed be quiet while on set!

I don’t see the school supplies bogo on publix’s ad this week.

    • Bridget Garner

I live in Florida and this has become my favorite thing to do, especially with coupons. I have ended up decreasing my grocery bill by a ton. I don’t usually like Wal-Mart, but this is the exception to the rule. I used to shop at Publix for all my groceries, but now it’s split between Wal-Mart and Publix, since I have both close to my house. The Wal-Mart close to my house doesn’t ask you for the ad, they don’t hassle you about what you say is on sale and don’t even ask you where it’s on sale, they just ad match it and take your word for it. My Wal-Mart does have the limit of four, but if you get the right cashier they will let you do two transactions with four in each transaction…they have to have a CSM override if they ad match more than four in a transaction…kind of a pain, but well worth the time.

    • Vanessa

I agree with Bridget. I now do all of my grocery shopping at Walmart. Most of the cashiers are well informed about it as well. Occasionally, I will have one double check the ad as I can easily see how this new practice can be abused. I had problems in the beginning once it was implemented, but now that everyone is on the same page, it goes well each time! Thanks Southern Savers for the list! I now know when an item is not available at Walmart :)

I live close to three Walmarts _-All three limit deals to four items or two deals- that is if they even have the products on the shelf. Never been to Walmart and seen so many empty shelves on items that are on sale at Publix. I finally gave up and went back to Publix Is
this happening at all Walmarts or just the ones in my area

    • Laurie

I rarely go to Publix unless there is an Advantage Flyer or Target coupon on an item. My WalMart Grocery store also lets me price match other local stores. I price match veggies, fruit and meat. I usually save about 40% on items that don’t have coupons. Eggs matched from CVS or Walgreens are a great deal. Thanks Jenny for the FL WM match up list. I take a picture with my camera phone and the ad is with me.

I live five minutes from Walmart but will not coupon there. The cashiers are rude and hate to see people couponing. The BOGO products are always gone. If there is a high value coupon available on a product it seems like they pull the product until the coupon has expired. REALLY dislike Walmart.

When I shop at Walmart, I shop in a different city (Chiefland, FL, instead of Gainesville, FL), because Chiefland has a good Walmart with wonderful employees. However, one must still watch like a hawk at the checkout because no one trains cashiers as well as Publix trains cashiers. At Walmart, I have to make sure I use only a couple of coupons per transaction or else must watch the cashier like a hawk. Otherwise, I experience cashiers losing track of what they have scanned and what they haven’t — failing to scan some coupons at all, while scanning others multiple times in their place (unsuccessfully, of course). Then the cashier wants to keep the coupons that she has not scanned at all, and hand me back some of my already-scanned coupons, telling me that they are no good since they “won’t scan.” I have to make the cashier start the entire checkout process all over in order to do it right, but if she refuses, I end up not getting to use the coupons that she has failed to scan, because she keeps them, and I end up leaving the store with the coupons that HAVE scanned since she gives them back! Such occurrences hurt the store as well as the consumer. These kinds of things are probably why Walmart hates coupons (and why couponers prefer other stores).

How do you find your Walmart price match list. It says oops when I try to go to it and won’t direct me to another page.

    • Kim

We price match at walmart for certain things also. Found it easier to put all the bogo items at the end and keep them together. The cashiers rarely give us a problem. They see we are prepared and organized….usually! When combined with coupons it can be a big savings. Just a little time and effort. Never though I would be a coupon person but I cringe at paying full price for items and have some extra money for some fun splurges on thing I would not normally buy!

I definitely love price matching BOGO deals at Walmarts in Florida. I tried to do the same in Alabama, but I found out the hard way that they do not do BOGO deals in Auburn, AL. Lesson learned, shop as much as I can in Florida before I head back to Auburn for school.

    • Sommer

I have ad matched BOGO items in my Jacksonville Walmart without a problem with the exception to coupons. My Walmart will only take one coupon per BOGO (applying the coupon to the product I paid for and not the “free” item). Is this the case with other stores or is it just mine? Thanks!

my Walmart in Gulf Breeze will take 2 coupons on a BOGO

I’m also in Jax. And I have been able to use two coupons for a BOGO. I typically shop at the Hodges/Beach Walmart. Not sure if this is store specific; you just never know what you’re going to get when you shop at Walmart.

Walmart in Lake City will take 2 coupons

How can I find out what the price match policy is in Louisiana? No one, including management, at any of the three Walmarts where I shop seems to know for sure. If you ask three people, you get three answers!

    • nikki

Wal mart is not privately owned the rules are accross the board you just have to take the time and ask for the costumer stevice manager use the short way ask for the csm that will get them a little scared because you used their lingo I used to work at walmart in a different state then I live now and from what we were told is the costumer is always right and for a company that has the saying plastered on the wall let the manager know that you know that they advertise that tney match any sale they have to do it and as far as the cashiers go they have really no say on taking the coupons or bogo just keep asking for management I live in an area were the whole store is rude I dont care because if they continue I report it and get rainchecks for the stuff they dont have in stock they will say they do not do it buy then you let them know that you know the store policy they will not only stop doing what they do but when they see you they will be acting all brand new after a while

      good luck and happy shopping

My Walmart in Merritt Island, FL will not match on school supplies. The cashier told me only food items.
