Remember that awesome deal on All You last month?  You guys got 40 months of a coupon filled magazine for less than 70 cents an issue and we made $3 per issue to give away.  I teamed up with Collin at Hip2Save.com so that we could raise the most money possible.  In the end you guys raised$8034!! This was incredible!

We contacted the food bank and asked for a tour to see exactly what they did and how can help even more.  Check it out:

It was incredible what was raised, and was a great morning of seeing everything in action.  I’m amazed at the size of this facility and the fact that they go through as much food as they do every 7-10 days!

I hope this helps you think of all the ways that you can help!

Note: Anyone who ordered it takes 8-10 weeks for All You to get started so you will get your first issue probably next month (mid April).

    • TheThriftyMama

So proud of you girls, and thank you to all of your readers that ordered!

    • Christine

Thanks! Great video!!!!! Loved getting to see the inside and put some perspective on all of it! God Bless you!

    • Mary

That was great!! Thank you so much for letting us see inside a Food Bank!! I am proud to be helping out with using coupons!! Thanks Ladies!!

    • freya336

So glad I could contribute a tiny little part to make that donation possible! And, I can't wait till I start receiving my magazine, too! Way to Go, Jenny (and everyone else)!

    • Jeri

What a great video. I ordered the All You mag during your promotion to get the coupons but knowing the other $3 dollars resulted in 21 pounds of food is awesome! Where is SC was this food bank and do you know if they accept walk in drop offs?

      • colagirl

The food bank is located mostly in the Midlands of SC although they do service counties in the Pee Dee region as well.

Especially recently, they have been accepting just about anything so I would imagine walk ins would be welcome.

      • Snowski824

We have Harvest Hope in the upstate too!

    • Our church happens to be a dontion drop-off point for our local food bank. It's so convenient for me. We keep a bag in our pantry area and add items to it as we get them free or almost-free. When the bag is full, it goes with us on Sunday morning!

    • Catherine F.

I'm very imporessed with your generous spirit.

    • Jenny-
Thanks for the video and the challenge! I’ve always donated from my stockpile on and off, but have just gotten intentional about doing it on a weekly basis. I call it my “pantry tithe”! If you’re interested, you can read about here: http://frugalfanatic.wordpress.com/2010/03/01/ive-decided-to-be-a-pantry-tither/ Thanks again for the inspiration and thanks for your site..I love it!!

    • Nancy L.

You girls are awesome!! My two favorite bloggers. Thanks so much for all you do!!

    • This is so wonderful!! I love the box idea for donations! Until I started using Southernsavers I never could see how this would be possible. I can't wait to shop and share.

    • TraciM

Great job…glad we could help out ! Keep up the great work, both of you….Traci

    • Gabi

Jenny, thanks so much for sharing! It's a privilege to know I was able to contribute my tiny portion to this. And about those 2 boxes of stuff I have sitting at the house – I'll be calling Harvest Hope tomorrow to see where I can drop them off! Thanks for being such an inspiration!

    • Renee

Just another reason why I love both of these ladies! Thank Jenny and Collin for helping us be good stewards of God's resources. Blessings to you both : )

    • MrsBubba

Jenny~This is one of the reasons I tell everyone that will listen about your site. The Lord loves a cheerful giver! Thanks for being so generous to such a great cause.

    • gayla_p

That is fantastic!! $56,000lbs of food! You and Colin were so kind to donate that to the food bank. I love SS and H2S!!

I donate regularly to our local food bank and Himane Society due to free/cheaps you two work so hard to post. Thank you!

    • Jessica Carroll

You woman inspire people everyday! Great job Ladies! This is an awesome thing you do everyday. I work in a great environment and we donate food and goods every three months. I'm glad that there are people like you out there. I live in poor old Montgomery Alabama and because I'm in the service we try to help the needy here as much as possible. I'm glad that others are doing the same in there towns, we need to help our american families get thou these hard times. Bless you both! Thanks for all you do! Also, I'm a fan of both your blogs. I read it in the morning and at lunchtime and before bed, you have changed my life. Thank you again! You are true Angels in this world!

    • Thank you ladies for sharing that experience, I am sure it will inspire many people to give more, and people who never gave to start. I was amazed at the turn over too, wow that's a lot of food to move so quickly. I donate here in Louisiana and I don't think ours is set up nearly as well as that one. North Carolina is doing a GREAT job too.
Once again, I am excited for people to see your film. Thanks again!

    • shay

I was bummed when I missed the promotion, now I am downright sad! I will definitely have to pay more attention so I don't miss anymore opportunities to help. I just started couponing so I haven't donated anything to a food bank or anything just yet but have been able to do a few little things for some friends, which is awesome. Also, I have a family member who joined the military and have stockpiled some things to send care packages to his unit when the time comes. You tell us about so many good deals though, I will probably go ahead and donate what I have, the sales will always come back around! Thanks again for all you do!

      • Ashley B

Okay, so I think I'm correct that the Food Banks will take personal items like razors, body wash, etc, but I was wondering, does anyone know who might take/need/want jar candles donations?

        • irisfaith

Maybe a shelter for women who are victims of domestic violence?
They are a little hard to find because they have to be safe, but if you can get a phone number for them, they usually do pick-ups.
Ours in Athens GA runs a store where they sell donated items (kind of like Goodwill) but all the money goes to women and children who have left abusive homes and have to start all over. HTH!!

    • debee2000

I am glad to help which ever way I can for those that can't put food on thier tables because of the economy. The biggest bonus to me is that I just got my ALL YOU magazine this past Saturday and I LOVE IT! I can't put it down and now when I see your posts about coupons in the ALL YOU magazine I don't have to pass up the deal! Thanks again !

    • Alison

Absolutely amazing Jenny. I cannot tell you how inspired I am by this. I told my husband last night that I was starting a donation box. I'm going to encourage my family to start one for each of their homes also. Thank you for all you do to help.

    • momsdword1

Thanks for sharing the video. It is proof of what an accumulated effort of goodness can achieve….BLESSINGS all the way around!! Southern Savers and Hip2save have become household words in my family. Thank you for all that you do in order to provide all the opportunities for saving. You are the BEST!!!

    • connieb03

That was awesome!!!! Thanks Jenny!!! Since I started using your website, I have been doing what you were talking about. Everytime I order a free sample, I also order one for our local homeless shelter so they get one too. Usually I donate my free sample to them too, so they get two. It's not a food bank, but they need everything a food bank needs too. Thanks for all your tips! I agree, since we are saving so much money we need to share the wealth with those who are going through rough times!

    • Jenny…way to go! You rock! You got your readers a good deal and you helped out others! What a great idea to donate that money!

    • jenglass

That is awesome! Thanks also to the people at Campus Fundraiser for giving us this deal, and to their hard workers that were answering all of our e-mails at all hours of the day and night. Without them, this would not have been possible. They deserve a shout out!!

    • Elizabeth

i love your website. I follow it all of the time and get fabulous deals. Although I do not donate locally to food banks, I save all of my extra toiletries and donate to poor families in Mexico. It is so wonderful to be able to give even though my husband and I live on social security. God bless you for your efforts. Thanks again for your blog!!!!

    • Pat

In addition to the All You deal, I also ordered Entertainment Weekly for 2 Years. I started receiving those 2 wks after signing up. Great service and great cause.

    • stephylow

The video was truly inspiring. I can't wait till my box is full so I can donate to my local food bank. Thanks so much Jenny.

    • Leah_in_SC

Thank you for all you do! You are such a blessing to so many. I pray you and your family are equally blessed!!!!

    • amyfurlong

That's inspiring Jenny! BTW – has anyone gotten their magazine yet? I ordered on the deal that was posted prior to this one and I'm still waiting for my first issue. I'm excited to start receiving it.

      • Kerri

I haven't gotten mine either, so I'm glad to know I'm not alone! Hopefully it won't be long though!!

      • irisfaith

I ordered a little before this deal (and then again during) and called them and was told April 23rd.

      This is Wonderful !!

    • carolyn090

i always offer tons of free stuff to my family. no one has the time to come get anything. i cant even get them to come and get the things i know they need .all i hear is , well can you bring it to me? i know this is gonna sound mean but ,no. i live by a food bank , from what i can tell its open once a month . i see people standing outside there in really cold weather , in a huge line some of them w/ children. in times like these more and more people need help from a strangers.i am crying now even thinking of it .who knows in the not so distant future that could be my family standing there. i think i will just load my items and take them there ,mabe even bring a few boxes of used toys. thank you jenny, i can see it differently now .its not just a huge problem ,that i cant do anything about. like jenny said in the video every little bit helps .1 dollar = 7lbs. of food or my box of cereal + your box would eventually = alot of cereal.

    • That was so incredible. What a wonderful thing the coupon movement is, not only can you feed your family cheaply, you can help feed hundreds of families for nothing. I've already found my box and we are going to start filling her up today. Thank you ladies for your constant words of inspiration and all the things that you do to help us provide for our families, this is a wonderful thing! (:

    • Jan

Wow, after watching that I'm ashamed of myself for not giving. The box idea is a great one, which I'll be starting today.

Also, what about Crisis Pregnancy Centers? I'm sure they need all the diapers and baby products they could take. Just a thought.

    • chrystal42

All you do and pregnant too!!! You're my hero!

    • Queen Thrifty

      Jenny –
I think this is awesome as well. I'm inspired and challenged. We put our box in the pantry last night. My family is going to be a Southern Savers Giver! That's what we're putting on our box when we drop it off at Harvest Hope. Thank you! Happy Belated Birthday!

    • Kristen

Thanks for the new challenge to fill a box to take to our local food bank! I'll have to get my family involved in this.

    • homeisthebeachnow

This is awesome. The free stuff I score (food or hygiene items) I donate to my daughters High School Food Pantry that assists many Special Education students. It's a win-win!

    • reba123

Does anyone know when we will start getting the ALL YOU magazine? I'm anxious to start clipping!

    • Amanda S
