In the wilmington area in the Bo’s store paper given in the mail.
There are Q that can be used at foodlion. EX buy 2Breyers Ice Cream get a free box of cones.

    • Elizabeth

      Just FYI for everyone-

I have had trouble at FL the past two weeks when I tried to shop there.

Apparently, the company sent out some scary nasty gram to all stores informing everyone about counterfeit coupons. Also apparently, this nasty gram has everyone at all the FL’s in my area (Summerville/Goose Creek, SC) scared to take coupons.

Two weeks in a row, I’ve had problems using printables. Both Manufacturer Q Printables, and this is the one that really irks me…STORE Q Printables!

Now, let me just tell you, I’m not doing anything I shouldn’t be doing….I’m just using my Q’s like I normally would do at any other store and they are hassling me. Also, the Q’s I was using were scanning just fine and they STILL weren’t taking them!

So, finally after last weeks “fight” to use them, I just grabbed my Q’s from the cashier, and told the Manager that was standing there how silly this whole thing was. (I also threw in a little jab about how I have less of a problem using FL Q’s at PUBLIX than I do at their own store!)

So, I have decided that for me, its just not worth it anymore. Two weeks of the same balony at two different stores is where I draw the line.

Hopefully, none of you encounter the same drama that I did. But if you do, just know that FL Corporate has sent out something to EVERY store about counterfeit Q’s and that’s where all the hassle is coming from.

Hope this helps someone! : )

    • Jenny (also)

I was hassled by a cashier at my bi-lo in TN as well. She refused over 1/2 of my coupons, and mortified me in front of the other people in line, telling them that I was trying to rip off food lion. I am VERY careful with coupons, and was not doing anything against their rules at all. I called and complained and received a call from the manager of the store. She allowed me to come back in and gave me the cash value for all of the coupons that the cashier would not accept. Our Bi-lo accepts food lion coupons, so I will just shop there in the future, but it is at least courteous to call the customer service and let them know how upset you are so that they can address the problem and know why they are losing business.

    • Jenny (also)

Sorry…meant to say hassled at Food Lion, not Bi-lo! :)

    • Diane

I have also had trouble with printable coupons at my Food Lion in Virginia. The cashier has to take them to the manager to check to see if they will take them or not. They are worried the Qs are counterfeit. The Food Lion website has a link to Smart Source coupons and then when you try to use them its a big hassle! Its embarrassing to hold up a line of people while the manager looks over the coupons.

    • kelli

I’ve never had a problem at my Food Lion. I’ve had coupons not work but they almost always just force them through. I’m in Virginia too. I hope that I don’t start having problems, I’d hate to have to stop shopping at Food Lion again (I used to not shop there because I thought that their prices were too high). Two of the people who work at the customer service desk/scan yourself lines practically know me by name, so hopefully things won’t get bad.

Crazy question but I can’t find the popcorn Q in my aug all you…can anyone tell me if its in yours and maybe what page?

    • kelli

I just used 11 Breyers $1 off 2, 4 Keebler $1 off 1, and 3 $1 off any Guiding Star coupons at Food Lion with no problem at all. I hope that this continues to be the way that it is.

    • Debra in West Cola, SC

      Hi, Everyone

I was reading your comments about Food Lion and especially what Elizabeth was saying and I completely agree. There’s a Food Lion here in South Congaree/West Cola, SC that won’t take printables. I have also encountered some problems with printables and cannot even use there printable coupons. I do most of my shopping at Publix and Bi-lo and I use printable coupons and have never had a problem and they are also much more friendlier and helpful than Food Lion.

    • I just used 11 Breyers $1 off 2, 4 Keebler $1 off 1, and 3 $1 off any Guiding Star coupons at Food Lion with no problem at all. I hope that this continues to be the way that it is.
      BTW I love your blog!

    • Jenny (also)

      Ashley C,

Yes, I am from Cleveland…the Food Lion that I had the awful cashier at was the one on APD 40.

    • Heather

You know….I get a little irritated at times reading all the negatives about Food Lion. Where I live, the Eastern Panhandle of WV, it is the only grocery store with reasonable prices. We have Wal-Mart, but as we all know, it’s not always the best deal. So, for those of you who have other stores that have better deals – be thankful. For those of us who don’t – this is our only way to attempt to save money. Please be careful how much you knock it. As for coupons, I’ve NEVER had a problem using them. The manager at our Food Lion will almost always just ring them through no matter what as long as you have bought the right product. Maybe that’s because he understands the economy and our attempt to save money in any way possible.

    • Noel

Lysol wipes end up being $2 for 80 (BOGO + $1 off 2 coupon). For those of you who have been at this longer than I have, is this a good deal? What price do you wait for on these wipes? They are on my kids’ list for back to school items that are required. Thanks!

    • Margaret

I am in the Tidewater area of Virginia and was told by my store manager tht they would not take a FLIP & a Manufacturer’s on the same item. I was furious because they had been taking them and other store in our area take them. Icontqacted corporate and was informed that they in fact do not take both. It is either one or the other on each item.

The popcorn Q was in a center pullout of coupons. Hope this helps.

    • Katrina

Pampers in Charlotte area are 7.99, so only $6.99 with $1 coupon. I’m going for the Home 360 ones though. They work great and 4.99 beats ALDI diapers. Also, the big Tide for 6.99 seems like a pretty good deal since you can stack the store and manufacturers coupon.

    • Annette

I see that the FL turkey lunch meat is still on sale this week B1G1 at 5.49. You can buy 10.00 worth of that, use the 3$ off of 10$ Deli or Bakery FL Q (ex 12/29/09) then use a 1$ off guiding star (if they are offering that this week) and get a great deal! If they will let you scan your MVP card last, you only have to buy 2 lbs worth to make the deal work. If you can’t scan your MVP last, you will have to buy about 4lbs, but either way, it is still a great price. It will either be about .75 per lb, or 1.49 per lb.

    • cms

      Thank you soo much lynda!!!

    • Charlotte

Where do you get the ‘flip or tear’ pads? Anyone in West Ashley, SC having trouble with Publix? They’ve been very good for us! Thanks for all the extra hints ladies! It’s really helping the newbie!

    • kelli

I’m so confused about why my comment got copied and added onto… very strange.

    • HEY! remember the $1.50 off diapers coupon (FLIP). it reads “home 360 diapers or wipes! save 50¢ more!

    • megan c

I am not sure where to put this but i wanted to share it with all the southernsavers,I already did mine and I can assure you it is for real:
If you’re one of the first 500,000 people to participate in this offer starting on August 1, you can get $10 in free Schwan’s food. Unfortunately, you don’t qualify if you’ve made a purchase with Schwan in the past 14 weeks,I personally got pizza rolls for my husband and daughter but all I had to pay was .03 with debit card, but if you got something less expensive it would be free!!! \http://www.schwans.com/promos/freefood/freeFoodBegin.aspx

      Jenny (also),
I am just glad to hear about Bi-Lo taking competitor coupons…I didn’t realize they did. Thank you for the tip!

    • Jenny (also)

      Ashley C,
Only the Bi-Lo at Ocoee Crossing will take the Food Lion coupons…I’ve talked to the management at the apd 40 bi-lo and they are considering taking them, but haven’t agreed to yet. Hope this helps!

Also…at the Bi-lo at ocoee crossing you can stack a food lion coupon with a mfr. coupon…the mgr told me that they are trying to stay competitive with publix.

    • Jen

Just wanted to let everyone know a little more about why we’ve had so many problems at FL lately. I know a manager personally who explained all of this to me. He said that people have illegally made coupons and printed them. Most of them say “free” and the one he mentioned in particular was Velveeta Cheese. FL has lost an unbelieveable amount of money due to these made up coupons. So – FL is cracking down on printables until they can decifer which ones are legitimate. I hate to see all of you who are giving up on FL due to these bad people!

    • Katrina

This morning I got an e-mail from Food Lion showing that I could print a four coupons, one of which was $1 off Smart Option products. When I went to do it, it said I had already printed it this week. (I haven’t.) Did anyone else on the FL e-list get this? They have a Smart Option milk and I’d like to use it for that because it is exactly the same as the regular FL milk. Any chance this coupon will be up on the FL coupons list?

    • Susan

My Food Lion in Chattanooga has a Kingsford Peelie by the foil for: $3.00 off Butchers Brand Beef when you buy:
      Kingsford charcoal and Reynolds wrap.
      -3.00 FLIP on charcoal
-2.00 IP on Kingsford charcoal (see link at Publix Post)
      -.50 Q at ReynoldsWrap.com (IP)
Free Masterpiece Bar-B-Q sauce, when you buy charcoal (IP)(see link at Publix Post).
Add the FLIP $1.00 off $5.00 Beef and $1.00 off Guiding Star Q, Get $5.00 worth of Beef Free.

I plan on doing both the $6.00 off pork and $3.00 off Butchers Brand Beef. Stock the freezer!

If you see a problem with my logic, please let me know. Thanks

    • Laura

      Katrina,

It is a testament to the awesomeness of this website that you are dedicating your time to it despite having a 4 day old baby. :)

also, FL split chicken is actually 87 cents a lb (listed as 97 above) in the Charlotte area, I just got the flyer in the mail. Great deal even with no Qs!

    • Linda

Is there a guiding star coupon this week? I can not find it.

    • Beth

I have a question about the flip =$3 off $10 Deli or Bakery Purchase (exp 12/29/09) Print from FL or Print PDF=. I have seen many times that this coupon can be used on any deli or bakery purchase, but the coupon says something about buying a On the Go Bistro meal and getting 3 off 10. Can we use this coupon for any deli OR bakery purchase and not what is listed on the outside of the coupon page? I hope this makes sense.
      Thanks for all you do.

    • Annette

Beth, there are two coupons that look similar, but one of them is for a meal. (buy one meat and two sides.) The other is a deli/bakery coupon. I don’t quite understand why the deli/bakery one is on a page that suggests items you can buy for this meal coupon because it can be used to buy anything at the deli or bakery and the coupon itself does not say you have to buy a meat and two sides. It is a little confusing, but I have used it to buy 10.00 worth of lunch meat, (see #21) and it works just fine. Hope this helps.

    • sherry lynn

Any one find that capri sun coupon??

    • jojo

The orville redenbaucher coupon in the all you magazine is not in the one that you get in your mail (if you subscribe), but it is in the one’s on the shelf at WM. Don’t know why they’re different, but they are. I’ve been buying them for the free jack links jerky, value 7.67, coupon, and the $1 baked lays Q. Hope this helps.

    • nancy

I got $2 off starbucks manufature Q at Rite Aid that can go with the flip Q. I found it on a display for starbucks tearpad. Wilmington, nc on 16th or 17 st.

    • When I bought Juicy Juice last week (the brain development kind – 32oz) it printed out a catalina for $2 off 2 juicy juice. So combine that with a flip and it comes out to .98 for 2! Great deal!

      Here’s the math:
      1.99 x 2 = $3.98 – $1 GuidingStar FLIP = $2.98 – $2 catalina =

      .98 for 2

    • Erin

I can’t find the Butterball turkey printable. Is it still out there somewhere? I got some last week at Kroger and I’d like to some next week too for school lunches. Thanks.

    • SUSAN

I live in the Richmond, VA area. Just wanted to pass a great back to school deal from Food Lion. They have Healthy Accents Hand Sanitizer for $1.29 and Home 360 Tissues for $.95. If you use the $1 off printables on these products you get both for $.24. What a great deal if these are on you supply list for school.

    • BETH

Thanks Susan I’m in the Richmond, Va area also and still need to get supplies for school….

    • Tiffani (Myrtle Beach)

Has anyone been having issues with Food Lion and coupons? One of ours out here is giving a hard time when we use coupons. Today I was told that I could only use 1 FL coupon per order. Not 1 of each different kind (like one for peanut butter, one for 360, one for Guiding Stars, etc.)but one PERIOD. I have never had a problem before using one of each. Also, they have been talking negative about people using ANY kind of coupons. One manager told me that if we keep using our coupons this way and getting all this stuff for free or cheap, they might have to raise their prices. They said it’s not worth it or fair to those that don’t use coupons. THEY DON’T EVEN DOUBLE. LOL! I don’t think it’s good customer relations to be griping about coupons users. Even the cashiers are negative about it.

    • Erin

My flip for Tyson frozen chicken beeped today. The cashier said that I couldn’t use it with the manufacturer q. I looked and even though the flip says store q, it has a bar code # that starts with a 5.

    • Dale

I went to the South Congaree Food Lion today, and asked to speak to the manager on duty. I asked him if they were not accepting internet printed coupons, and he brought me over the the customer service area and asked to see then ones I had. He was fine with the ones I showed him, as they were obviously not copied or altered. He showed me a book of coupons that Food Lion has sent them to be aware that they are fraudulent. It is hard to believe that there are people who alter and present fraudulent coupons, and I told him these people should be prosecuted. He had no problem taking my manuf coupons and stacking with the FLip coupons, and a B1G1 deal allows two coupons for each one at this store. I told him I would post this on our blog, however, these stores need to be consistent with their customers in quoting their policies. One day maybe these stores will develop the technology to recognize these fraudulent coupons and tie them back to the specific thief(I mean customer)…

    • Terry

I emailed corporate and a lady from my local store called me. I told them how for 12 years I have been a customer ad because BILO took my coupons and they didn’t. It was worth my mile trip down the road. I said because of their inconsistency I would no longer shop there. When she called she told if I had any problem using coupons tell them she said okay. For anyone using the Foodlion by Walmart in Moncks Corner. Her name is Mrs. Gethers.

    • nancy

I was told the same thing about the Tyson chicken it beeps too
. The lady said it would not be used in with other Q. still a good deal but not as sweet.lol

    • Delores

In the latest “Healthy Community” magazine at the store there is a coupon for $1.50/1 Bryers ice cream… so $3 off this B1G1 makes it $2.29 for 2, a pretty good price for me. Now, they are not ringing through directly, the cashier pushed it through. The IP Bryer coupons beeped for me as well when I bought the yogurt. But anyway, thought you all would want to know. I found mine just below the ads as you go in the door.

    • megan c

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO TAKES PUBLIX COUPONS BESIDES BILO AND FOODLION

    • megan c

I MEANT TO ASK IF BILO OR FOODLION EXCEPTS PUBLIX COUPONS

    • Deb

I was given such a hard time when I last tried to use printable Q at the only FL in my area, Gainesville GA, that I have just stopped trying to use them at all. I was given the same story about fraud and it took me about 20 min. to check out. Just glad no other customers were waiting at the time.

    • Heather M.

My FL in Hixson has great deals on sunscreen…more than 50% off….even the good ones!

    • emily

Does anyone know if there is a limit on how many store coupons (printed from FL website) you can use in one transaction? I tried using 5 different ones last night and then again today and it only took 4 each time. Also, I see comments where people have used multiple FL printed coupons of the same item. Does this work? It clearly states on the coupon that you can only use one per day, per transaction…

I’m in VA- Near Roanoke area.
      Thanks!

    • kelli

emily (#56) – Hello neighbor! I’m in blacksburg. As for the the number of store coupons you can use in one transaction… I have no idea if there’s a limit, but I know that the system gets mad sometimes if you’re trying to save too much money. I almost always go to the scan yourself line in my store, I find it easier to not have someone looking through every one of my coupons (for anyone who doesn’t know, you scan your own coupons as well). I’ve had a few problems where I’ve had 3-4 of one coupon and it gets upset but I’ve never tried using more than 1-2 store coupons in a transaction.

I accidentally found out that you can use two different store coupons on the same item. I was buying Kellogg cereal 2ish weeks ago when it was bogo and I found out accidentally that it worked to use the $1 off Kellogg cereal coupon and the $1 off Guiding Star item. I ended up getting a huge $4+ box of Rice Krispies and Fruit Loops for about 25 cents each.

    • emily

Thanks, Kelli. I’m very fond of B’burg. Spent 4 years of college there at VT. I didn’t know FL had self check out lanes until just the other day when my husband (who was installing equipment in a new FL near my house that will open in a week or so) told me that they have them. Sounds great for those quick trips.
Maybe I should ask next time about a limit on # of different store coupons. From reading everyone’s comments above it sounds like each store has a little different policy than the next. Sounds crazy, but I’m excited to see what the new store down the road will be like.

    • I called and complained and received a call from the manager of the store. She allowed me to come back in and gave me the cash value for all of the coupons that the cashier would not accept.
