    • Lisagyergyo

Awesome!  I am excited that you added Fred’s.  Thanks for all your work!

    • Allybethany

I have to say that them advertising they double coupons up to $0.70 was kind of misleading. I had a list and went to purchase my goods and was told that they do not go over $0.70. I was told The highest coupon amount they would double was $0.35 coupons and under. So not sure what Fred’s is allowing this but I would like to know. I have even emailed their corporate office and they told me the same.

      • Tanya V.

        What is Fred’s coupon policy?

A manufacturer’s coupon is a coupon for cents off, which customers obtain from newspapers, magazines, internet, direct mailings, etc. It is valid at any Fred’s store that carries the specific item featured on the coupon. Coupons that have been copied or reproduced will not be accepted. This includes black and white, as well as color copies. Coupons that offer “Free” products will be accepted. Buy one, get one free coupons are accepted.

        1. Fred’s will only accept manufacturers’ coupons that feature items that we carry. (No competitors’ coupons are to be accepted.) The item featured on the coupon must be the exact item that we sell, or we do not accept the coupon. The item must be the same brand, style, flavor, scent, or size specified by the coupon.
        2. All valid manufacturers’ coupons are accepted at face value at Fred’s everyday.3. ON SATURDAYS ONLY Fred’s will double the face value of manufacturers’ coupons up to 70 cents. 70 cent coupons will be doubled. (ONLY 1 coupon per identical item is doubled; ONLY 1 identical coupon will be doubled per customer per Saturday.) For Example: A customer may purchase 4 tubes of Crest toothpaste; if they have more than one coupon for the toothpaste, the first coupon will be doubled and the additional coupons will be taken at face value. If the customer wishes to purchase more than one flavor of an item and the coupon lists a variety of flavors, only one identical coupon will be doubled and the additional coupons will be taken at face value.4. No money will be returned for coupons that exceed the price of the product.5. Tobacco coupons cannot be doubled regardless of the face value of the coupon.6. Coupons that are expired ARE NOT accepted. If the coupon is presented the DAY it expires, the coupon will be accepted.

        • Justus4

Just to make sure we are all on the same page here.  The .70 coupon will double to $1.40.  Correct?

          • Allybethany

I am still confused lol. I stopped shopping at Freds after that day, but I only went to that one location. Maybe there is a chance that their employees had no earthly idea what the coupon policy meant. I may make a trip next week and test out an item >.<

            • Hi Allybethany, Which store did you shop at that would only double up to 35c coupons? I am with Fred’s marketing agency. I will talk to the corporate office about your issue.
              thanks

      • Grocerys4us

Did you advise Jenny using the “blue box” of the discussion you had with Fred’s. I would like to know for sure before trying to make another shopping trip with high expectations. It would be nice if it was just in communication with corporate and the store. Did they try to double the coupons and they wouldn’t? I guess I am just grasping at straws to make it work. Hoping for the best turn out. Oh well, we can’t have everything, can we? LOL Thanks for posting your experience.

        • Allybethany

Oh, I guess I could do that!

      • jon elischer

i have brought with me to my freds the online policy and they double up to .50 eveyday.  Saturday up to .70 but only one .70q allowed per trans.  get to know the manager and let them know your trying to save not hoard lol.  i get really good deals some time at my freds and the manager is really great….

      • Sporksoma

Wow, I’ve got about 5 Freds near me and they double 70c coupons to $1.40.  I’ve shopped at Fred’s for years on Saturdays with double coupons and it’s worked the same every time.

    • RHad

If you are buying more than one and have multiple q’s for each one, it only doubles the first q of that item. I had to multiple transactions.

    • Smith

It has been a few months since I shopped at Fred’s with coupons but this is how it has worked for me. They will double coupons up to a 70 cent value. So 0.70 would become 1.40. This is how it HAS worked for me. They have to OFTEN manually adjust for this at the register so talk to your manager first if you can. They only double the first “like” coupon (This was annoying to discover) and they are not interested in taking internet printed coupons unless you print it from the Fred’s website. Overall it is usually not worth it for me, but I thought I would share my experience for your benefit.

    • KBraden03

My experience with this is they double the first coupon 0.70 doubles to 1.40 but if you item is only a $1 then it will only double 30 cent for the total price of said item haven’t had no prob using printable either I love my freds

    • Mommy2cp

I love my Fred’s Store. Remember, they will only double one of any like coupon. So if you have three $.50 coupons, they will only double one and take the rest at face value.

    • Sporksoma

This is how my local Freds’ stores work (we’ve got about five around here!):

On Saturday only, they will double any coupon up to 70c (so 70c doubles to $1.40) up to the total price of the item.  If you have a 70c coupon and the item is $1, they will double it up to $1; you will not get overage.

If you are buying (3) bottles of Dawn dish liquid at $1 each, and you use (3) 50c/1 coupons for Dawn, ONLY THE FIRST COUPON WILL DOUBLE.  Your total will be $1 + tax (1 bottle for free, the other two at 50c each).  You *can* do multiple transactions, however.

Fred’s did not use to take internet printable coupons, but in the last few months they have changed their policy.  They even offer printable coupons on their website.

They will not accept coupons for free without purchase.  If you have a coupon for a free box of Kraft macaroni and cheese, and no other purchase is required, Fred’s will not take that coupon.  If you have a coupon for buy 1 box of macaroni, get 1 free, Fred’s will take that coupon.

This is Fred’s Coupon Policy and I called corporate and they verified they do now take free coupons it is in the policy. Read below. I have put stars in front and behind the sentence.

Yay! I’m so excited you’re covering this store! It’s one more, besides Kroger and Walgreens, that I get to shop at in my area :) Thank you oh so much and I had no clue about the double coupon Saturdays thing!

    • Babs

Does anyone know if the Fred’s in Florida doubles as well? I have noticed that many other stores that we have in FL do not double but will double  in other states.

    • Ronica_suire

Jenny you are the best ….A good fortune come your way for all you do, in helping us all to save one coupon at a time ……

    • pamela

Fred’s also carries toys!! just picked up a cardboard play house for my son today. not for sure on measurements, but it’s big enough to go inside  & play. the kids can color & write on the house which makes it fun. it was 14.95. & when you get tired of it just throw it away because it is just cardboard!!

    • pamela

    • Christykling
