Due to a Classaction lawsuit against some big retailers, anyone who bought cosmetics from one of these companies anytime between 1994 and 2003 can get one free product while supplies last.  Here are the stores that are “participating” (makes it sound so willing):

  • Bergdorf Goodman
  • Bergner’s
  • Bloomingdale’s
  • Boston Store
  • Carson Pirie Scott
  • Dillard’s
  • Gottschalks
  • Herberger’s
  • Macy’s
  • Neiman Marcus
  • Nordstrom
  • Parisian
  • Saks Fifth Avenue
  • Younkers

They will give one product per person.  You do not have to have any proof that you purchased a product but you do have to sign a form stating that you are taking a product.  They will give products away as supplies last or for 7 days.  Go here for the official lingo and to see a list of the free products.
