On September 26th, get free entrance to most every National Park!  You want to check with your park before heading out, but from searching on various sites I can’t find any that aren’t participating.
If you aren’t an outdoors person this is also the same day that you get free admission to any Smithsonian affiliate museum.

(thanks Amy!)

Where do we find the list of participating National Parks? Thank you.

It looks like the State Museum in Columbia, SC is a Smithsonian affiliate and, therefore, FREE that day too!

      • Maria

Here in Georgia you can go to your public library and get a free intrance pass all year round.

      • This is a great idea for a family outing. I have a link posted on my site to find the parks out or to volunteer at a park. ourskinnypiggy.com

The “free” day is a national park clean up day from what I have read.

      • Wendy

For those who live in Georgia, it’s also free State Park day too!
