Two great Pet Food finds from a sweet reader::

Save $5.50 off one bag — that makes small bags FREE!

(or take both to Publix if your store accepts Target coupons)

(thanks Aymie!)

grr…I don’t have any pets, but I just bought 4 bags of dog food at Publix for the $3.00 profit, my store accepts target coupons I could have saved another $8.00 :( I’ve been trying to make an effort to look on the Target website for any coupon matches since Jenny stopped including them since most Publix don’t accept them, but I forgot this week. A new target just open right next to Publix so just started accepting Target coupons and they take CVS and Walgreens coupons too! I can’t complain though…I save 75% today.

    • Amanda

Okay, so my husband just went to Publix and bought the Purina Beneful B1G1 for $5.49 used 2 $3.50 off coupons and the manager at Publix gave him $1 and some change back!!! How funny is that! We basically got paid to take the dog food of their hands! So I am going back to stock up! Good luck to everyone else!

    • JessC

I was able to print one with my address and one with my e-mail address. We’ve got alot of (little) mouths to feed!

    • Susan

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

From myself and my 4(sometimes 5)furrie friends.

    • Kelly

Thanks! That’s awesome – now the question is – do I buy my dog food at Target or Publix? Gotta love free dog food!

    • We have 8 cats, no not all indoor. :) The indoor cats throw up Purina. They hold down the Iams, the most expensive of course. Now one is throwing up Iams. Can’t win for losing. Going to try Purina again. They eat better then we do. Love them any way.

    • Carolyn
I agree! We would starve before our cats would! They love the Purina One indoor advantage, and throw up the “crappier kind” I.E. Meow Mix, etc.
I finally found a cheaper better food, Purina one.
      What kind did you buy?
Try the indoor advantage, maybe that one wont make them sick.

I can’t get the coupon. After taking the survey, it goes to when I can download the coupon, but it doesn’t work. Any suggestions?

    • If I’m figuring correctly, since Publix has these B1G1, then you can get four free bags if you use two coupons (mfg and Target) on each bag you’re “paying” for. Wow! Even if you use one Target coupon per bag (if you’ve reached your limit on the $3.50 coupons), then you’re still only paying $.75 per bag! That’s a terrific savings!!

    • Jessica Janes

I am unable to get this coupon to print. I click download coupon and the next page pops up and says “get your coupon?” and I wanna say no, but it wouldn’t do me any good. Anybody have this problem? What in the world am I doing wrong?

    • You have to select a group to donate a bowl to, then you can print the q. I wish they would reset these! I printed these months ago for another deal and they still haven’t been reset. :(

I sent my hubby to the store to pick up a few items, including two bags of dog food that we desperately needed. When he came home, I looked at the receipt and cried (okay, so I was already exhausted!). He tried his best, but somehow, something didn’t checkout correctly and not being a detail person, he didn’t notice. First he checked out and realized the dog food didn’t ring up as B1G1 (Yeah, Hubby!), so he had them cancel the transaction and finished checking out his other items, since there was a line behind him. He went back, got the dog food, and checked out again. Here’s the frustrating part: for whatever reason, the coupons only took $1 off. So instead of saving $7, we only saved $2, and I am too embarrassed to ask Publix about it. Oh well. We’ll see if I can find someone else to print us a few more coupons. Any idea why the coupons would have rung up for only $1 instead of $3.50?

On another note: if you’re buying this for the overage and don’t need the food, please keep your local animal shelters in mind.

    • Please note the Target coupon is only for **Purina ONE**, not any Purina. The Purina One is more expensive.

I went with my Mom to Publix last night to help her with some grocery shopping. She has 2 dogs and 3 cats, so needless to say free pet food is always welcomed. I had printed the Target coupon as well as the manufacture coupon. The cashier did notice that the Target coupon said Purina ONE, but she accepted the coupon after the grocery bagger said that people had been using them all night.

    • Lane
Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed to get the money you should have saved.
Stand your ground, put on a smile, and get your $6 back.

    • Margery
If you buy the smaller bags at Target and use both coupons, it will still be free.

And Publix puts Purina one on sale sometimes so be on the lookout.

    • Amanda

I printed this several months ago, so it would not let me print it again with my information. I tried a separate email address that got to the print coupon page, but than it said sorry you have reached the print limit. I know that email address was never used. I wish they would also reset this coupon!

    • Lisa

I am new to couponing and checking out everything. If your cat is throwing up food they sometimes need more protein in their diet. Just give them a can of wet food whenever they are throwing up the dry food. My cat hasn’t been throwing up since I give him a can of wet food a few times a month.

    • Lisa
Thanks so much for the advice about cats throwing up.
One of my cats is a little chubby and I always thought it was because she ate too much, but I never give them wet food, maybe I should try and see.
      Couldnt hurt!

    • Emma

Hi I am really new to this so please bare with me! I did the Purina test and received the coupon for our 2 newly adopted kittens – I photocopied the coupon 3 times and used it in conjunction with the Target coupon at my local publix – was accepted no problem. I didn’t read the coupon in detail and am now worried that I may get into trouble for copying it – any advice??

      • Jenny

        Emma,

They probably won’t do anything to you it being a first time, but don’t make any more copies of any printable or any other type for that matter, coupon. The printables all have security features in them so they will get rejected.
