how to use savingstar coupons at publix

I have exciting news for Publix shoppers, after waiting a really long time you can now use SavingStar offers in Publix!!   The big question though, how do you use SavingStar coupons at Publix??

To start you need to head into the store and get a Upromise keytag from the customer service desk.

SavingStar at Publix

The keytag will say on the back how to set it up with Upromise… just ignore that.  Upromise and SavingStar are sister companies and they have now made this keytag work with SavingStar.

Head online once you have the keytag (or get their app and do it all in the store).  Add the keytag number to your SavingStar account.  Now when you check out in Publix scan your new keytag and Publix will tell SavingStar if you bought any participating items.  That means you don’t have to do any work to submit your offers!! Buy participating items and earn money back in your SavingStar account!!

I am so happy to know I can finally use Savingstar at Publix. Publix is the store that I shop at the most. Now I can save even more money there.

I added the promise card to the store list (Publix) and purchased the rice-a-roni. When I went to check the status on my savingstar app. It said that they don’t support this store yet and to keep using my loyalty tag. Since I have saved my receipts can I still get riembursed?

      • https://savingstar.com/ SavingStar

Hi – If you registered your Upromise keytag in your account as the loyalty number for Publix and scanned your keytag at checkout, your savings will post within 9 days. Thanks, Josh

I already had the UPromise card and registered it with UPromise a while ago. I just added it to my SavingStar account as well. Will I end up getting the savings in both of these accounts now, or would I have to get a new card?

      • https://savingstar.com/ SavingStar

Hi Ellie, You do not need to get a new card, but please note that going forward you will only be able to activate an individual offer in one service. If you activate in Upromise, the savings will go to your Upromise account and the offer will disappear from SavingStar, and if you activate the offer in SavingStar, the offer will disappear from Upromise and the savings will post to your SavingStar account. Thanks, Josh

I went to the Publix service desk several months ago to register for a Upromise card, and they told me they didn’t have that program anymore, that they had stopped/discontinued it. I even showed them a picture of the Upromise keycard, and they were adamant they did not participate in the program anymore. Can anyone offer any advice on how to get a Upromise account after running into this?

      • https://savingstar.com/ SavingStar

Hi Heather, All Publix stores should have a Upromise ketytag available at customer service. If the person you are speaking with is not sure where to locate the keytags, I would suggest speaking with the manager. If you still have trouble locating one after that, please contact us with the location of the store and we can help follow up. Thanks, Josh

I went to public Customer service desk 2 days ago and asked for the Upromise key tag and they said I need to go to my school and ask for one from them since publix doesnt carry them. Kinda hard to believe that I have to be a student to get the savings

Hi SD, I’m sorry that you received incorrect information. All Publix stores should have a Upromise ketytag available at customer service. If the person you are speaking with is not sure where to locate the keytags, I would suggest speaking with the manager. If you still have trouble locating one after that, please contact us with the location of the store and we can help follow up. Thanks, Josh

Hi Kay, Please click My Account on the top right of the website. Then click Stores in the gray horizontal bar. Then click the orange button on the right that says Add Stores to pull up Publix by your zip code. In the mobile app, tap the Stores tab and then the + button to pull up more stores.

My UPromise key tag has 12 numbers and the Savings Star site asks for 10 numbers.

After several failed attempts and “invalid card number” messages, I left off the first two numbers and the SS site finally accepted it.

      Did I do that correctly?

      • https://savingstar.com/ SavingStar

Hi Shannon, I’m not familiar with any keytags that have 12 numbers, but I would suggest leaving off the first and last digits like you’ve done. Purchases should post within 9 days of your shopping trip. I would suggest using the keytag and if the credits don’t post within 9 days, then contact us for assistance. Thanks, Josh

          Hi Josh,
          Thanks for the quick reply.

Initially, I entered the 12 digit UPromise number by leaving off the first and last digits (which are 4 and 1) and the SS site wouldn’t accept it.

Then I tried leaving off the first two numbers (which are (are 41). By doing this, my remaining number started with a 1 and the SS site accepted it.

Hopefully it will work (I’ll do as you suggested).

          Thanks again,
          Shannon :)

how do I know when the begin date for a offer. Example: I selected a offer that expires 9/30, how do I know how far back (date) I can submit my receipts.

      • https://savingstar.com/ SavingStar

Hi – You need to select offers before you purchase the items. When we review the receipt we check to make sure the offer was activate prior to or on the day of purchase.
