This week I decided there wasn’t much that we needed after such a big trip last week.  I grabbed a few items while I was getting all the unadvertised deals at Kroger and that was really all that we needed.

Kroger:
Total before sales and coupons: $52.18
Total spent: $26.22
Total saved: $25.96 or 49.7%

A big thanks to the person that left coupons all over the store.  I ended up using a few of them :)

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or link to your savings post.

UPS delivered a letter today. I found that I was a grand prize winner in the Kelloggs Frosted Mini-Wheats Sweepstakes, $250! Thats wonderful!

    • Courtney

I loved getting 2 hungry man meals for .02 total. (husband took them to work for his lunch) Spent 8.61 at foodlion tonight, saved 18.00 though on coupons and mvp prices.

      • Iris

where are/were they that cheap? I've been out of the loop for a few weeks.

    • Mitchell

I went to Publix, Food lion, and Ingles here in Georgia. I got a total of $465 in groceries for $194.70

    • Donna

Went to Krogers tonight and got $5 off with the 10 item Mega Deal, had $39.97 in Kroger Plus Savings and $25.45 in coupons for a total savings of 56%. I also bought 3 packages of Perdue Shortcuts Honey Roasted Chicken Breast (regular $4.29each) that had been marked down to $1.99 each and each package had a coupon for $1 off bringing the final cost to $.99 each. Plus I found two boxes of

Danimals Coolision marked down to $1.29 each and I had two $.35 coupons which were doubled. I came home with a lot of groceries for $50.92.

    • I love it when people do that -I've called them my coupon angels.

      Have a great weekend

I was wondering where to look for eggs… ALDI here I come :)

Had a good week here too! Not as much savings as I normally have but I was out of a lot of basic perishables that I had to get (milk, bread, etc) and I got the best sales I could and cat food (which even with the sales / coupons is still expensive!). Seriously, I have SO much food in the house now, it's amazing! I love couponing – thanks, Jenny! :)

      Publix:
Total before sales and coupons: $25.81
      Total Spent: $12.12
      Total Saved: $13.69 or 53%

      Bi-Lo:
Total before sales and coupons: $38.74
      Total Spent: $14.57
      Total Saved: $24.17 or 62%

      Harris Teeter:
Total before sales and coupons: $41.90
      Total Spent: $14.24
      Total Saved: $27.66 or 66%

Overall for the week – saved 62% for the week! :)

    • My Publix post appears 4 times. I only posted it once.

    • cog94

I went to Publix and spent $59 and saved $151.50. The best part is that I took my sister-in-law with me for her first couponing experience and she saved $100 and spent $57. It was a great week for the both of us!

    • Angie

$77 worth of food for $4 (saved 95%) :) I had NO money for shopping, but my daughter needed some baby food.

      So I got:
28 jars of earth's best baby food
      5 hungry man dinners
      2 Athenos hummus
      4 Idaho potatoes
4 Beechnut baby foods (I had a 4 free coupon)
      4 Phazyme
      3 Thai Kitchen Ginger Noodles
3 Thai Kitchen Garlic & Veggie
5 Maruchan Yakisoba (I knew I was saving all those coupons for something!)

For all you stockpilers. It is very frustrating when you spend hours getting coupons togeter only to go to the store and the shelves are empty! Leave some product for others. It is a six week cycle, not a six year cycle. Do you really need 13 tubes of toothpaste? I needed only one. We can ALL benefit if we think of others.

    • couponNERD

I saved 39% at Kroger's Mega Sale today, 50% at Bilo yesterday, and at Publix spent 434, saved $58 on a cart full of groceries!
We are having a birthday party, so there are some chips and sodas in those totals. No coupons for those this week. Too bad the Walgreen's $1- Dr Pepper sale isn't until sunday!

    • Adgwecho

I was only 4 dollars shy of cutting my grocery/household items bill in half! YAY! My 4 year old was really excited because for each coupon I use, I put its value away in a fund for Disney World..our Mickey Mouse Fund…she is already learning to watch for things to be on sale!

      • Donna

That's a great way to teach children about savings & budgeting! And how cute too that she's excited to help! :)

    • Courtneyjoella

My husband was determined to grocery shop and he is not a coupon fanatic and is still begrudging of my savings. However, I told him he could be the boss but I would try to match my coupons to whatever he picked up. This was much more complicated as I followed the card and picked furiously through my coupon holder. I missed a few coupons while I was digging (drat you Juicy Juice printable and Jif peanut butter coupon). Because he got a few things off the grid we spent $122 and saved $65. Still, money saved is money saved….
