I ran out quickly to Publix this week for milk and decided to grab a few coupon deals while I was there.  Also I grabbed a few things in Kroger when I was walking around looking for unadvertised deals.

For the next two weeks: If you go shopping and take a picture, send me the picture and the details (email jenny@southernsavers(dot)com). I won’t be able to shop at all so it will be fun to highlight your achievements!

Publix
Total before sales and coupons: $56.12
Total Spent: $22.10
Total Saved: $34.02

Kroger
Total before sales and coupons: $29.88
Total Spent: $12
Total Saved: $17.88

I grabbed 12 bags of the Nabisco Snack Packs.  These are big bags and only go to $1 a few times a year so we stocked up.  It’s not healthy I know but you should have seen the eyes light up as I walked in the door with them!

Weekly Totals
Before coupons and sales: $86
Spent: $34.10
Saved: $51.90 or 60.3%

    • For some reason mine (#1-3) posted multiple times…sorry about that! You can delete the 2nd and 3rd ones. :)

I did a trip to Publix Wednesday morning and got 4 bags of Kraft homestyle mac and cheese, 4 YoPlus and the country crock all being bogo items. I used 4 $ coupons for the mac and cheese, 4 $.50 coupons for the YoPlus which our Publix doubles, a $.40 coupon for the country crock along with a $.50 Target coupon and my total was $1.05 which included tax. Saving of $19.86

    • Melanieplynch

Today was the first time I've ever been able to get my “Amount Saved” higher than my “Amount Spent.” I spent $31 and saved $35. I live in Florida, and I always seems to hit just under 50% savings. But I do have a child in diapers…

    • Tracymgant

What did I miss about the snack packs????

      • Sdavisva

I looked for the Nabisco Snack Packs for $1 today at Kroger, but I wasn't positive which ones they were. I'm in a different sales region from Jenny, so I'm thinking maybe ours aren't on sale. However, if anyone can shed light on which product it is, that would be awesome. My husband just started working outside of the home for the first time in years, and I need to stock his desk with lunches/snacks!

    • Amg625

I was able to go to Publix yesterday…I got $202.98 worth of groceries for $29.85..And that included a 32lb bag of dogfood and a box of size 5 diapers.

    • kelli

It's always fun to see how well you've done for the week.
I've been working for the last month after not working for over a year and I'm having such a hard time juggling shopping/keeping track of spending with work and everything else I have to do throughout the day. I can't even believe it's already friday!! I need to gather up the few receipts that I've got and see how I did this week. :)

    • Rgriffis2

Went to Publix yesterday…i got $834.83 worth of groceries for $11.42.

      • JH

Please tell us what you bought & how you did this!

      • Monica

Wow! What did you buy and what Publix were you at?

      • Linda

Wow, what did you buy? I wish I could save like that. I thought I had couponing down pretty much! But by your totals I still have a lot to learn. Please give us a break down!!

    • Dawn J

Using Kroger's Mega Sale and e coupons on my Kroger Card & Mfg coupons I was able to get 32.72 in groceries, and did not have to pay ANYTHING! they actually gave me $8.73 in cash back.

Total before sales and coupons: $32.72
Total Spent: ZERO. They gave me $8.73 in Cash!
      Total Saved: $41.45

      • Sheila

I would love to see the break down of this transaction! WOW!

        • Dawn J

I have a copy of the reciept if you would like me to email it to you. just let me know at ilovegirlscouting@hotmail.com

          32.72 Food Bill

          -7.29 MFG Coupons

          -1.00 doubling of coupons

-41.29 Store coupons & Kroger card savings

          1.84 Sales tax added

-8.73 final bill negative, so they paid me!

Although if you do the above math you will see that the final bill should have been -15.02 I still haven’t figured that out. Not sure where the other 6.29 went. Still learning, I guess. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. :)

    • Dale

It looks like you spent $34.10..still good..

    • Jo R

Ok- I was on another website listed above and people were complaining about having to go several Rite Aid's to find the cheap tp- we're talking 123 rolls. This is disappointing because most of us don't have the time or ability (kids in tow) to clear the shelves . . . to each his own but wow!

      • andie98

Yeah, I just got back from my Rite Aid and they put a limit of three per household! I just wanted some tissue for our church!

        • Jo R

I hear you! That is why I love Jenny- it's all in moderation. I am happy to walk out with 2-4 of anything!

      • JH

Wow! I'd like to see that. Do you remember which one it was? I went on Monday. The store had 2 rolls, which I bought, and only got $1 +Up.

    • PeacePrincess

I am new to couponing and absolutely LOVE this website and am SO thankful to all who share their money saving tips! Jenny, I just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you do to help us! You are our Coupon Angel : ) I hope to soon be better at this and get fabulous deals like the rest of you. I wish there were couponing classes offered here! And lastly, a high 5 to Dawn J and Rgriffis2!!! Your reports are AMAZING and inspiring!

    • Allyson

    • Mickie

I went to CVS and Kroger this week.

      Kroger: Spent $77.28; Saved $22.46
CVS was the REAL excitement: Spent $12.14, Saved $52.26.

Next week I add Publix to the rounds.

    • Jjacobs498

I went to Kroger on Monday and spent 96.00 and saved 90.00. I thought I did really well since this is only my third coupon trip. I went to a couple of CVS stores, and total before sales and coupons, my merchandise would have been 110.00 and I paid 5.00. I am really stoked about how well I am doing…

    • Miss

      Hi all,
My Publix shopping was a winner! Total before coupons and savings: $105.21
      Total spent: $$26.38
      Total savings: $78.83 or 75%!
Pretty good considering that includes two large canisters of baby formula, roughly $50.00 worth!
My Kroger shopping wasn't as thrilling, as I had to purchase some more expensive items… total before savings & coupons: $117.69
      Total spent: $76.09
      Total savings: $41.60 or 36%

      Overall shopping this week:
Total before coupons & savings: $222.90
      Total spent: $102.57
      Total savings: $120.43 or 54%

Isn't it amazing how disappointing a 39% savings is now?? Imagine how much money we wasted buying groceries before learning this incredible process??
      Happy Couponing & Shopping!!

I love to shop with coupons!! I love that I have found this site. I discovered Jenny about 6 months ago. And I have gotten alot of free stuff! However, my family would commit me in a mental ward if I went shopping for 50 rolls of cheap toilet paper at Rite Aid, just to save a penny or too. I am sure if you spent that $50.00 on several 9,12 or 18 packs of good quality paper it would last 10 times longer. How are these people buying 10 rolls at a time, my store was a limit of 3? Seems like you would save some for other people!! Let me just say I love Rite Aid!! Thanks Jenny for everything you do. Have a safe trip!!

    • Ariannadesigns

this week was fun! Publix total was $49.17…pd. $8.88. Now thats fun shopping.

    • So this is my first shopping trip using the coupon routine and I have to say I am hooked… I went to publix as I usually would and I had a small list only because before I was taught how to do this (Thursday while in Publix) I had already went shopping so today was a tester of what I could get with my coupons.
