I hope you didn’t give up on me this week, I had to go shopping tonight before I could share any savings!

Tonight I wish I could have had a live video follow me to prove to folks that this doesn’t have to take a lot of time.  I spent exactly 31 minutes cutting my coupons (I don’t cut anything until I get ready to go shopping) and printing my shopping list.  I got to the store at 9:34 and they promptly locked the door behind me as I left at 10 pm.  All together that is 57 minutes of prep and shopping time.  I would venture to say that some folks not using coupons still spend close to that much time making a shopping list of what they need and shopping.

Publix
Total before sales and coupons: $138.99
Total Spent: $48.61
Total Saved: $90.38 or 65%

This included $21 in meat and $7.50 in produce!

I still have my coupons cut for Walgreens, so here’s hoping they have something left in stock tomorrow.

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

I know this sounds corny but I look forward to the Fri. Finals all week. I love to see what deals everyone is getting!  This is the 1st week in a while that I have shoppd Publix yet this sales ad. I am waiting for tomorrow. I have a huge stack of Q’s so I can’t wait!!  I did get a bunch of the Free Cookies todayat Walmart and CVS. My dids were so excited!!!

I went grocery shopping tonight! Thank God for coupons and ad matching. My total before was around $270 and my total after coupons and ad matching at Walmart was $144.65.. Tonight was a little hectic though I had all three kids with me and they must have been on a sugar high or something.LOL

Jenny do you post a picture of your goodies? I’m always curious to see because it sounds like you buy a lot of fresh meat and produce, sometimes looking at Friday Finals I get disappointed in the amount of processed food and snacks.

      • Sometimes I do.  I have learned that me coming home and arranging groceries for a picture is the one thing that drives my husband crazy… so if I shop and he is home when I get home I don’t do it.  :)

        • Alison

That’s pretty funny, my husband tries to stay as far away from the coupons as possible. If I ask him to guess how much I paid he always says “free?” He hasn’t been to the grocery store in about 4 years so he has no clue. I love your site and most weeks I’m grocery envious so I do want to see pictures to admire, but happy husband is more important.

      • I will say that this week the only things I grabbed that are “processed” were 6 boxes of hamburger helper (a great mama doesn’t feel like cooking fall back) 2 freschetta simply inspired pizzas, and juice I guess (the Mott’s and the B1G1 ocean spray).  We do a lot of cooking from scratch.

Publix shopping before the Green Advantage Ad expired…saved $190.36 ~ paid $21.36. With 10 bags of groceries, not all with coupons, & 2 packs of Huggies. Spent about 2 hours clipping Q’s~ but that was with a 2 month old in my arms the whole time… Happy Mommy (& Happy Daddy when I got home with groceries & receipt :-)

I would like to know what newspapers ya’ll get.  I follow your couponing advice and go to get the coupons but our paper didn’t have the ones I want yet you say are there.  It gets really frustrating trying to coupon.  I have gotten some good deals just not as good as what you are getting.

Jenny–you amaze me!  I’ve been following your site for 3 years now, and I still can’t get my groceries as low as you do.  I would LOVE to see your Publix shopping list some day…the one that YOU shopped off of, just to see how you do it.  I DO LOVE you’re weekly lists and I shop off them each week!  Thank you for all you do!!

      • Jamie

What a great idea!! Jenny I would love to see your shopping list because you get such good deals + you seem to feed your family good food. I really admire you!!!

I so don’t get how you spend so little time. It takes me hours to print, cut and organize coupons, and then when I get to Publix, many times, the items I had on my prepared list are higher priced, and I have to figure and decide if it is still a good deal.
Then I have a $5/50 or $5/30 coupon, so I have to find a corner in the store to separate my items to reach the correct amount!!
      What am I doing wrong??
