This week I  made it out to Kroger for a trip during the Mega Event.  I actually made a video of our trip that I’ll post in the morning (waiting on Youtube tonight).  It was a great Mega Event ad, so if you haven’t made it out you still have all day tomorrow in the south east region or possibly longer if your store sales don’t change until the middle of next week.

Kroger:
Total Before coupons and Sales: $89.44
Total Spent: $37.10
Total Saved: $52.34 or 58.5%

Walgreens:
Total before coupons and sales: $33.82
Total Spent: $8.58
Total Saved: $25.24 or 74.6 %

Our Walgreens ad all outside toys 50% off, on top of a few items being in this weeks ad.  We are about to head out to the beach to I used some Register Rewards to get us some fun beach toys, bubbles, jump ropes and two bug catching kits.  It was a lot of fun to go on a little end of summer shopping spree and I’ve struggled all week keeping them a secret from my kids.  I am never very good with presents,  I want to watch them enjoy them right then!

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or link to your savings post.

Kelli, that's amazing! Can you break down your Kroger trip a little?

        • kelli

sure thing :) I bought 8 lbs of ground sirloin marked down to $1.89/lb. I paid for that with $6 in cats and the rest in cash, that's where most of my oop was this week.

I did a few different things for the mega sale. I used family members computers to get extra coupons, so I switched it up a bit over the week.

          example 1:
6 kraft cheese = $.99 each (after mega sale savings)
          4 Dan-o-nino = $1.50 each (after mega sale savings)
          – (3) $1/2 kraft cheese
          – (4) $.50 off Dan-o-nino (doubled)
          – $5 cat from previous purchase
          = just tax
got back $5 cat for Kraft and $2 cat for dannon

          example 2:
4 Kraft cheese = $.99 each (after mega sale savings)
1 Philly cream cheese = $.99 (after mega sale savings)
1 Oscar Mayer hot dogs = $2.49 (after mega sale savings)
2 Spaghettios = $.49 each (after mega sale savings)
2 Quaker rice cakes = $.49 each (after mega sale savings)
          – (2) $1/2 Kraft cheese
          – $1 off Philly cream cheese
          – $2.49 (free Oscar Mayer hot dogs coupon from Kroger)
          – $1/2 Spaghettios
          – $1/2 Quaker rice cakes
          – $2 cat from previous purchase
          = just tax
got back $5 cat for Kraft

          example 3
48 Cesar Bistro Dog Food = $.49 each (after mega sale savings)
2 Softsoap = $1 each (after mega sale savings)
          – (16) buy 2, get 1 free Cesar Bistro (cashier took off full price for these, $1 each)
          – (2) $.50 off Softsoap (doubled)
          – $5 cat from previous purchase
          – $2 cat from previous purchase
          = $.52 plus tax
