Happy Friday!

I hope this was a week filled with savings and fun.  If not you have the whole weekend to make up for it!

I went into a number of stores this week both grocery and non grocery.  We were on the road and I took advantage of a few Groupons I had saved up for stores we don’t have in my area.

My favorite was checking out at Coldwater Creek with $98 in clothes, and only paying $4.17!  That’s fun!

We did a bit of grocery shopping too:

Publix:
Total before sales and coupons: $76.10
Total spent: $28.44
Total saved: $47.66 or 63%

Kroger:
Total before sales and coupons: $29.56
Total spent: $19.21
Total saved: $10.35 or 35%

Publix was our big trip, getting a few of the great B1G1 deals and freebies.  I also got milk (never on sale but you gotta have it).  I don’t normally shop in two stores a week, but grabbed a few things at Kroger while I was walking around looking for deals.  Mostly I got meat, bringing down the total saved.

Weekly total:
Total before sales and coupons: $105.66
Total spent: $47.66
Total saved: $58.01 or 55%

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

I hit Publix, Bi-Lo, Target, and Walgreens. All told I spent $25.00 and saved $118.00. It was a good week.

    • AgaB

Had a great shopping trip to Kroger the other day.  Total before coupons $54, paid $25, saved $29 , I would have saved more but none of the tear-pad coupons were available at the store, oh well. Hitting Kroger again tomorrow, for some more bargains.

A great way I've found to save on milk is to combine the $1 mq for Smart Balance half gallons of milk with the $1 publix coupon that expires 5/15, it makes the milk just over $1 which you can't beat anywhere for milk, and the Smart Balance doesn't spoil as quickly.

I had a big shopping trip planned for the weekend but fractured my ankle today, so for now I am vicariously couponing through you all :(

      • Hope everything heals quickly!!

    • Shayelyn

I had tons of fun shopping at Publix this past week.  My biggest triumph was total spent $166.08, total saved $128.12.  I know that doesn't seem spectacular but the total spent includes $150.00 worth of gas cards.  So for the remainder $16.08 I got ten bags of coffee, ten bags of Milano cookies, four boxes of Pop Secret, two bags of frozen veggies, one bag of ginger snaps, one wicked expensive bottle of balsamic glaze, and two bags of Lays chips.  I won't have to buy coffee for the rest of the year and I won't have to buy gas for a few weeks!  I'll take a sale like this any time!

Altogether, ran about 80% savings. Plus CVS printed a survey invite that will save us 3 off 15 next time. Very nice.
Actually, milk does go on sale. When it gets within a couple days of the expiration date, they discount it. I know the rough time that our store does dairy and produce markdowns, and try to time my visit for then. We stick what we won't use right away in our freezer.

I love coldwater creek!  How in the world did you get all those clothes so cheap ?? Please let us know how to save at this store. Thankyou so much.

      • Right now they are running a B1G1 50% off sale and turns out it applies to clearance too!!  So I grabbed a few great clearance finds (including jeans!!)  and got the extra sale and then paid with a $50 gift certificate I got through Groupon.

    • Harris Teeter Shopping Trip: It was my first one going for huge savings, and boy did I save!!
      Original Price:  232.33
      Saved: 92.70
Final Price after Coupons/Store Savings: 139.63

      Saved: 40%
Not bad for my first time out.

    • Amy

Went to Kroger today my total was $107 after the savings i paid $33. Woo Hoo it was a great day!!

    • Liz

      Kroger Mega Event
      Total before coupons $272.50
      Total OOP (incl. tax) $39.80!!!

Also, my Kroger here has been running their gallon milks for 99 cents and half gallons for 50 cents on Saturday afternoons.  Apparently that's when a bulk shipment comes in, and they want to get rid of the older milk fast.  However, the milk they've been considering old are still good for another week!!!  Cha-ching! :)
