This was a week of no shopping for us.  We’ve had so much going on at home that we just did our best to make it through.  Long story… but the week ended with our yard flooded by the plumber who was supposed to be in helping repair our bathroom that had a leak.  We’ve had folks in and out of the house all week.

Because of the bathroom issues I’ve been placed on CVS restriction.  Thanks to CVS rain checks I am not missing any of the deals!  I love it.  Took 5 minutes to run in and grab rain checks for all the great deals and now when I have time (and a bathroom again) I can stop in and get everything I missed.

Yep, CVS rain checks never expire and will print the ECB’s whenever you grab the deals later.  So if you ever don’t have time to grab the coupons or the space to put it just run in towards the end of the week and grab the rain checks to use when the time is good for you.

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

    • Sorry to hear about your bathroom :( Thanks for the info about CVS rainchecks, didn't realize they never expire! Sweet!

    • concerned shopper

So they will let you get a raincheck just so you can shop at a more convenient time? I thought rainchecks were for when they were out of the item you wanted.

      • Kim

I think she's saying Since she waited till the end of the sale week, the deals were gone…so, if that happens to you, you just get a rain check instead.

        • JJ

They may never expire but your coupons do. Its also up to the store if they will honor the rain checks so far out. Just remember a product does not stay on shelf forever they come and go. Many itms are even seasonal too. If you get them at one CVS another CVS does not have to honor them. People should not get rain checks if they have items in. If people do we will see an end to rain checks. Just look at how wags has changed in last year or even target as people did not follow the coupons rules there.

$144 for $11………………..yep, that iswhat i said……..between my trips to walgreens and cvs that is what happened. it was really 25 dollars, but i had 11 left over on a gift card………oh yeah!

    • I'm glad your bathroom is all fixed! :) — Also, my CVS does not like to give rainchecks. It can be frustrating because they will want to give me something that I don't have coupons for, so I just have to wait and hope the items come back in.

A couple of years ago we had a pipe burst in one of the walls of our house and it flooded 2 rooms in our home before we caught it.It is not a fun experience. Hope all is well soon for you.

    • Bev

Oh man! I knew you could get a rain check but I didn't know the ECBs would still print later! I wish I had known that for last week's razor deal. I went in on Sunday and they were out of stock from the previous week. I went back in on Monday after the truck had come in for the week and the said they had forgotten to order more and they wouldn't get any in until the sale was over. Aaaaargh!!!!!! They never even offered the rain check option! It was so frustrating!!!

    • Rachael

I hope your bathrooms all fixed, that sounds awful! Can you explain about the rainchecks? I'm a little confused…..

    • Janet D

Went to Rite Aid and bought $15.99 sunglasses, Double stuff Oreao(2), Chips Ahoy (2), and Planter cashew pieces(2) After coupons owed $5.94 which was deducted from my rebate gift cards AND I'll get $4 back in rebates due to what I purchased!

    • Brandy

How do I get rain checks? Just ask for them at the checkout?

    • amussue

Krogers Nestle Bottled Water 24 pk was on sale with your card for 3/$10. I got 2/24pks, and checked out two different times. I had saved some printable coupons that they gave me when checking out previously i used a $2 and a $1 off on entire order on one pk making it .34. Did the same with the next, i had 3 $1 off your entire total purchase and used them three again, making it .34.. I got 48 bottles of water for .68!

Some one on the Fri Finals said the only had $10.50 RRs to spend at Publix, Are they spending Walgreen RRs at Publix???

      • Beth

They are manufacturer Q's. I've never tried them at Publix, but Food Lion scans them with no problem.

    • kelli

I had the slowest week I've had in some time. I only made it to CVS.

      total before sales/coupons: $52.26
      total oop: $.86 (all tax)
      total saved: $51.40 or 95%
I used 6 extra bucks more than I got back

I also spent $2 on papers

    • Julie

      Jenny (or whoever knows),
Are you saying that you can get a raincheck on an item even if they have it in stock? I thought that it had to be out of stock to get a raincheck.

      • kelli

I think that she's saying to go at the end of the week so that the items are more likely to be out of stock. I think that most stores will not write you a raincheck if they have the item in stock but some don't check, so you might get lucky.

I mainly try to only get FREE items now……like my awesome Target run, which was so great, I did it a second time.
all total was 66.98 in scrubbing bubbles, 23.20 in Ovaltine and 4.00 in suave deoderant $94.18 with no money out of pocket. I paid the first transaction with a $5 gift card from last week, and earned $25 in gift cards with these transactions…I left with $15 in gift cards for mext week.
Target seems to have learned CVS's ECB secret…maybe they will keep up this $5 target gift card wyb senario!

    • We did really good this week @ Publix saving 54.33%! We got 2 foot long subs we love them! If not for that we would have been in the 60% off bracket! The young girl that checked us out was clapping and in aw as we walked out the door… haha
