I didn’t do any shopping this week, instead my family took their first family vacation in a long time that didn’t involve teaching a workshop or even working that much!  I hope you didn’t miss me too much (really I worked hard last week so that this week you might not notice that I was away).

Vacations are wonderful and for me it was much needed.

I know a bunch of you had an awesome week though with Harris Teeter Super Doubles, so bring on the fun pictures and comments!!

    • We cleared the shelves of all 8 packages of Oscar Mayer Cheesy Hot Dogs (that our toddler and my mom both adore!), and we got them all for $15.97, plus 4lbs of Ground Turkey for $8.74, and 2 FREE mangos… plus several other items for $34.34, saving $55.86 at Publix.

We also had a pretty decent CVS trip, saving 68% and gaining an extra $5.01 ECBs than we started with.

Check out my link above “Hot Dog! Savings Galore! if you want to see what all I got at these two wonderful stores!

This week was my first big outing at Harris Teeter and I saved 85%.  Yeah.  There was a couple behind me that had just moved to High Point from Puerto Rico and he was asking the cashier and me all kind of questions about couponing.  I told him to go online to Southern Savers and he could learn all he needed to know, I did.  Thanks a bunch.  This is so much fun.

    • My week was pretty good.  I made a couple quick trips to CVS saving 92% including taking advantage of the gas card deal this week.  I went to Publix and saved 83% and got to use my $5 off $30 purchase coupon I got in the mail.

My first run at grocery shopping with coupons. Bought $174.92 worth of groceries and only paid $74.89. Not bad for my first go at it I think.

      • Angelascoupons1

Not bad at all…be proud!  Your accomplishments will only get better as you get the hang of it!

      • Good job!  Anytime you save more than you spend it's a good thing, and you did about 57%, so not bad.  I usually average about 60% at the grocery store, so you are right there with my typical savings and I have been doing this for a couple years now.

can anyone tell me how to find out about walmart specials, like the oscar meyer hot dogs for $.75. i have the coupons. i live in dalton, ga

    • Brenda

Does anyone buy coupons?  I have been hearing about this and do not know if I should do so or not.

      • KellyL

I buy ones that are clipped for specific items when I need them.  I use coupon dedes.  I don't have a problem buying them or with people selling them.

        • Brenda

Thank you so much for the reply.  I am new to this and don't understand what coupon dedes means.  Do you mind explaining it to me.  Thank you again.

    • This week was kind of slow for me. I spent a lot of time (on my way to and from other things) searching high and low for a CVS that carried the 5-count Zyrtec so that I could use my raincheck. Not being able to find one kinda bummed me out. Of course I was able to get 2 free tubes of toothpaste, a free stick of deodorant, Pantene shampoo and conditioner for 99¢, as well as a buttload of clearance Almay makeup.

Today in particular I went to the store and got 2 Crest mouthwashes (free after raincheck and coupons), 2 Oral-B Pulsar toothbrushes (free after raincheck and coupons), 2 bottles of Pantene, 2 Almay Bright Eyes concealers, 1 Almay Bright Eyes duo-stick, 2 Almay One-Coat Waterproof Mascaras, and 1 Revlon Fabulash Mascara. After using $10 in ECBs, a 25%-off coupon, and the emailed $3-off Revlon coupon– I only paid $3.92 OOP; and about half of that was tax. I even got $2 in ECBs back!

I've struggled because I wanted to roll my ECBs as far as possible. I try to only stick to the deals that offer ECBs. But that make-up on clearance was really hard to pass up. I *love* the Almay Bright Eyes concealer… So I just had to splurge and “waste” my ECBs so to speak. I probably wouldn't have done it either, if I hadn't read your post on how to avoid burn-out. Thanks so much for all you do, Jenny!

Went to Food Lion and Bi-Lo this week. Good thing is they are right across the street from each other. At Food Lion got $83.85 worth of groceries for $57.80. Not that great. At Bi-Lo got $44.37 for $26.87. Total was $128.22 worth for $84.67. Savings of 34%. Just not a whole lot of coupons for food the past couple of weeks.

    • Nicole

I don't have a picture of what I bought, but between CVS, Walgreens, and Harris Teeter, I spent $64.56 and saved $67.64. This was my first real “couponing” trip too. I'm so excited!! That's a savings of 51%!! Thanks to all the tips and help!

    • Jessica

Can anyone who posted about Oscar Meyer (sp?) hotdogs at Walmart being $0.75 please tell me at which Walmart and which kind of OM hotdogs? I had 2 of the $1/2 coupons and went to the Walmart but the cheapest OM hotdogs I could find were still $1.68 a pack. (This included me looking in the islands and meat section) Also I could not find that sale price in their sales ad. Thanks for any info!

    • Jennapatrick8

I scored four boxes of cereal, 5 Count Zyrtec, and 20 count Bayer, all for 13 cents at CVS.

    • trin

I got 4 bottles of johnsons's baby lotion, 1.5 liter of listerine, 2 tubs of wipes, 6 right guard deodorants, flea and tick shampoo, and two tubes of toothpaste all for under $15! I just started couponing a weeek ago with my bff. This is awesome. I would have easily spent over $50 plus tax before for all of that in the past at walmart! Thanks jenny and all the helpful tips everyone leaves on here!
