It is hard to believe that it is already July, but the fireworks going off around my neighborhood tonight is helping it feel more real.   I hope for most of you that got to grab some of the great printable coupons today. Don’t worry I’ll start tomorrow with looking for new paper and ink deals to help you get restocked!

For shopping this week, I was out of town for a chunk of the week planning the upcoming Becoming Conference and then meeting some of you guys in the NC and TN area.  I got home today and was quickly told by three children that we desperately needed three things: Goldfish, Cheez-Its, and Pop-Tarts.  Personally I don’t feel that any of those are a desperate need… but I am up for keeping the troops happy when I can.

I have a secret tool for finding deals when my family has requests that specific.  It’s a seperate search page on Southern Savers that is very good at specific needs — www.southernsavers.com/search

Typed in goldfish and found they were on sale at Publix as were the Cheez-its!  The Pop-Tarts are on sale at Kroger.  Problems solved!

Publix:

Total before sales and coupons: $30.68
Total spent: $15.57
Total saved: $15.11

This was (2) boxes of Cheez-its, (8) packages of Goldfish and (1) gallon of milk.  No coupons used.  I had some goldfish coupons at home, but at the rate we go through goldfish I’ll use those on another trip so it’s okay.  Awesome though to still save 50% with a gallon of milk.

I actually plan to do a real grocery shopping trip tomorrow (which will include the Pop-Tarts), but at least I felt like the good mom that I could meet the requests and get them on sale!
